Long-distance move from Florida to Texas

Do not use this company

Used this company for our move from south Florida to North texas. Our items were delivered moldy/water damage. Half of our furniture and equipment had to be thrown away. Mover went into attic and fell through ceiling. Manager advised we would have to repair and they would reimburse. Never saw a penny...calls were declined after years of attempts. I finally gave up.

**please do not use if you're moving out of state **

They made an exciting move a living nightmare

Long-distance move from Land O' Lakes, FL to Florence, SC

I would't trust the positive reviews - this is the worst company in th.

Just moved from FL to SC and used Road Runner because they had the best price.. But they provided by far the worst customer experience ever. Consider this:
- The grossly underestimated our truck size and told us on moving day that we need to pay thousands more for a second truck - I now believe from my experience and reading other reviews that is part of their business plan - underestimate, provide the best price and then upcharge the customer on moving day when they have all the leverage. One of the workers even said this truck if for a three bedroom home - we had a six bedroom house.
- No promises were kept like emptying the drawers, wrapping the mattresses, putting protective cardboard on the edges of the furniture, and much more
- We had over $3k of damaged furniture - not just dings and scratches but broken wood (thick wood), severely dented metal items, bent steel on our bikes, and more. The force required for some of this damage is remarkable - it was like they literally tried to brake stuff. I have all the pictures to prove this.
- We had over $1k of missing items including a brand new flat screen TV, all of the slats for our beds, and several boxes of kitchen goods.
- On delivery day the crew chief demanded we pay the balance which was over $3k in cash even though our agreement clearly says we can provide a money order - He threatened over the course of several hours to leave with our stuff if we didn't pay cash - it was too the point of feeling intimated and bullied. What company demands $3k in cash and why??
- Also on deliver day, they refused to take the boxes to their designated rooms although that was another promised service. They just shoved everything into our downstairs rooms - it took hours to get everything into their rooms.
-All calls to the company were met with sarcasm, rudeness and zero care. They said disgraceful things to my wife to the point of tears.
-And of course their process for requesting reimbursement is ridiculous - but we've jumped through every hoop and are getting zero response.

Atrocious service.

If I could give s score lower than 1 I would. No matter how many positive reviews they have do not trust them. I was told 1 price for everything and made sure I provided a detailed list but then they wanted $1200 more and made me dump things. They pack the boxes in such a way just to take up space. They took things I asked them not to and refused to take them off the truck. They dumped everything in the living room when they got to my new place and refused to put it where it belongs. Most of my stuff was either damaged or missing. Save yourself the grief and aggravation and go with someone else.

Best moving company hands down.

This moving company did a great job. I relocated from Florida to New York last month and they got all of my belongings there within 3 days without a hiccup. Relocation specialist Chris and the dispatch team where very helpfull evey step of the way. The movers showed up in the morning and had the whole house packed and ready to go within a few hours. When I recieved my belongings in New York 3 days later everything was in excellent shape. I strongly recomend Road Runner moving and storage for anyone moving long distance.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
This is by far the worst experience I have ever had. Their whole set up is a scam from the salesman to packers and delivery drivers. They lost a whole sectional and they items I received were severely damaged.
I have filed a claim but based on my experience so far that will be a long drawn out process with little to no resolution on my favor.
My goal is to reach as many as I can to help ensure no one else has to go through this process.

White glove five star service.

I must say I am very happy with the moving service road runner moving and storage provided me. The were able to move my items from Miami Fl to New York fast and professional. Alex was a huge help through out the entire moving process. He was able to provide with a accurate estimate and get move moved with in five days. Road runner moving and storage price was a little hire but this was because of the extra space they reserved for my items. The price stayed the same and nothing got damaged. I am very happy with the service they provided me. Andy my formen did an amazing job packing all of my items I was externally imprsssed.

I have moved befor and I had the entire opposite experince. I was not expecting good service so they really took me by surprise. I defiantly will be calling this moving company again if I have have a reason to move. If you are looking for a good company to work with call road runner they will do a fantastic job with fast service. They were up front about everything. Give Alex a call he will go the extra mile to make sure you are happy and he meets all of your moving needs!

Long-distance move from Pompano Beach, FL to Lexington, SC

Fraudulent Activities - Low quote only to Over Charge.

Salesperson quoted me $3,100 to move 10x12x12 storage locker. I gave full details. Agreed on 7/11 pick up with 7/15 delivery. On 7/11, the movers were a no-show.

Talked with salesperson and manager; they blamed paperwork mishap. They couldn't guarantee a delivery date unless I paid for "private and priority" delivery. They charged $800.00 for the specialized delivery. The pick up was to be 7/15 and delivery 7/16.

On 7/15, halfway through loading my furnishings, the "foreman" said that my price would be $9,278, saying that the inventory was more than I was quoted. I asked them to stop. The price was $6,200 more than quoted! I asked them to unload but they said I would need to pay for the labor to unload. I reviewed the inventory sheet with Mike, manager, and it matched exactly - there was no difference.

I spoke with Charles, the manager that quoted me the $3,800, about the price increase, he said he couldn't understand the increase, as there was no difference in the inventory.

I spoke with Mike, another manager, extensively, to resolve the matter. Essentially, he defended their overcharge. He couldn't give a reason for the increase. I emailed Mike a compromise, where I would pay $5,000. He did not respond to my email.

As they had my furnishings for ransom, I had little choice but to pay the $9,200.00.

To add insult to injury, although I paid an additional $800.00 for "priority and private" delivery, the movers didn't arrive on the agreed delivery date, 7/16. The driver said they had a stop in Georgia, although it was guaranteed to be a straight drive to my location. Additionally, they had other items other than mine in the truck. They spent about 20-30 minutes unloading the other items before being able to reach mine (I have pictures of the other items).

Lastly, several items were damaged, including an elliptical machine, two storage units and other items were lost, including the legs to a sofa and shelves for two armoires (I have pictures). I spoke with Mike, manager, about it; he emailed me a claims form in response.

Horrible Company Avoid at ALL COSTS.

Thieves, con artists and scammers. The 5 star reviews are fake. This company will take your money and then change your contract price charging you MORE. They move HALF of your house despite what is in your binding contract agreement and then charge you another additional cost to move the other half of your home. They take alittle bit of furniture from each room and then claim you only paid for "X" amount of cubic feet. Check the real reviews from BBB and other sites. This is not a BBB accredited company. They are scam artists. They're disrespectful and no professionalism. Their movers come 4 hours late and steal from you with no consequences from the company. After having to call the police and return twice to retrieve my belongings, they extorted more money from me if I wanted to get my belongings back. Then we had to follow some Russian guy to another warehouse where they attempted to extort more money for access to our stuff. FINALLY we get to what seems like an abandoned storage facility and they give us our stuff all broken boxes and dirty dead cockroaches Avoid at all costs!

STAY AWAY, find a professional moving company not this one. The of promise professional packing by sales representative was a joke over 80 items totally crushed, broken and unusable. Claim process was impossible and I believe designed for customers to just give up. Because of this company it was a extremely stressful move and we did not even have a full one bedroom house to move cost $6,220.

Bad move.

Stay away!!

The worst customer service experience of my life. Gave access to a 3D tour of our house. Showed every room and closet. Quoted 7300. Last minute I decided to leave behind the heavy washer and dryer and a bedroom set. on day of move they raised the price to $11,500. Said I had more than estimated even though I was moving Significantly less stuff. Long battle to get them to come down to 9000 and they acted like they were doing us a favor. Still didn’t have room for all of our stuff had to cancel our flights and rent a u-haul.

It doesn’t end there.. they moved my stuff to storage and then on to a big truck in the rain and my leather recliner showed up soaking wet. Took over 3 weeks to deliver so it was rank with mold growing on it. I have pictures to support and all of the movers agreed it was their fault and the company would pay.

Lastly and most frustrating of all they send you to a shady claim service website that just takes you in circles and has 19 out of 19 negative reviews. It is designed to make you give up on your claim and has so many legal disclosures saying they cannot be held responsible or sued for outcomes. I assume there has never been an outcome because I cannot get that far. Going in circles on a fake claims website is not my idea of a good time.

The truck driver Avi stopped Responding to my texts and the dispatcher Oren just kept making excuses and said they would review it then it’s a Jewish holiday so it would be 3 days and then the truck driver caught COVID 19 and it would be next week. I’m out what a joke.

Stay away!! See the other reviews and skip all the fake positive ones. Use your judgment.

Best In The Game.

My friend had use Road Runner Moving and Storage a month or two ago and was on my back to use them just the same. I finally gave in after secretly going online and checking them out on here and saw that they had nothing but good things said about them, Turns out my friend was right. They were perfect for my move.
I spoke with Rich who set up my move on November 20. It was the easiest move I've ever made thanks to these guys! The movers were on time, arriving with energetic attitudes and had a level of professionalism I haven't seen in a while. Andre introduced himself and his crew, did a walk through the house, signed some paperwork with me, then immediately got to work. They had a system down where they load certain things into the truck first. For example they had a couple boxes out but they set them to the side and loaded a dresser in first then the boxes and some lighter miscellaneous things on top. Real efficient way, I always thought you just put things in the truck and then try to make it all fit.
When we arrived at the new house, they once again got right to work. They unwrapped each piece of furniture that they themselves had wrapped and reassembled the beds. They even attached my washer and dryer without me even having to ask.
When it came time to work out the bill, there were no surprises charges. No ahm where did this come from kind of thing just straightforward hourly and distance billing. If you are reading this it probably means you are doing the same as I did and researching them so now you know. They are one of the best movers in the game today.

Best Movers Right Now.

I've never hired movers before and was a little skeptical at first, but since Road Runner Moving and Storage had so many good reviews I had to take a chance with them. Andre and Kyle promptly arrived at 8 am and man did they show off their professional skills. Andre, the lead, came to work, he scoped our place and got straight to work and knew exactly what strategy he was going to use to be most productive.
He was very polite, explained things clearly, and treated our stuff very nicely. They used a lot of plastic wrap and blankets to avoid scratches and carried things with ease. I'm honestly in awe of their hard work and the dedication they showed throughout my move. They skipped through lunch break and only drank the Gatorade I gave them.
I will definitely use these guys again especially if Andre and Kyle are available! Thanks Road Runner Moving and Storage.

My move.

I have not been lucky with moving companies in times past. I particularly had the worst experience with the last company I used. They really made me feel bad about moving companies. A colleague of mine advised me to try Roadrunner moving and storage. I never believed the type of service I got from Roadrunner. Excellent, incomparable service!!
The moving day was particularly interesting because the guys that came to do the job did very well. They were very efficient and I can't imagine what would have happened if I didn't engage them. In all honesty, these Roadrunner guys are the best moving company I have ever come across.

Pretty Decent Service.

I have to admit, I wasn't expecting alot from the start, when I got ahold of this moving company. I didn't have a whole lot of furniture to move, I was moving in with my girlfriend from my small apartment, likely a good 20-30 miles away, definitely a hassle to have done it alone, would I have chosen that. It was a decent price, and the movers worked efficiently to my liking. I definitely would have their services again!

Unnecessary Stress/Poor Communication.

I literally never do this, but I am making an exception this time if it helps save someone time and stress. Do not choose Roadrunner Moving for your move. They will call you numerous times and the agent (mine was Roger) will be very friendly--Roger was excellent in his customer service and I had high hopes for my moving experience. THEN..they showed up with a half full truck (ridiculous) and started by increasing my estimate by $2000, yes, $2000. The guy told me delivery would take 12 extra days, yes, 12. We got back on the phone with Michelle. She told me 3-5 days, she assured me. This was all on a Wednesday. Two of the movers had to leave to go empty the truck which I am sure delayed someone else's move by however many days. So we had one mover in the house packing most of the day. Needless to say, they did not finish on Wednesday and had to come back to load the truck on Thursday. They brought a truck that was too small to fit all of our belongings so many items got left behind. Thankfully we did not half to be out of our apartment yet. What if we did?? So then I make the drive to Florida to pick up the keys for the new house on Friday (the day the stuff was supposed to be delivered originally) and wait. Then Mike Miller is calling bullying us for payment saying the stuff is due to be delivered on Sunday but will go into storage if payment does not clear immediately. It was a corporate move (my company paid for it) so of course payment was going to be made. Did the stuff get delivered on Sunday as promised..NOPE. Monday came, no truck. Tuesday..no truck. Finally, on Wednesday the truck came. We did have two very nice delivery men and they items were in good shape and were all accounted for thank goodness. But the customer service at the top of the chain is horrible and this company does not have it together, and they will scalp you if you let them. Go with a more reputable company that comes out to give you a guaranteed estimate. That's my story!

Long-distance move from Florida to North Carolina

Reported to the Better Business Bureau.

I will never use Road Runner Moving & Storage ever again! I was only moving two bookcases & a bar from my dead mothers home, and was told I had up to 150 cubic feet in the truck so if I wanted to move more I could. From the moment the movers arrived, the testing for money started. Mover, Anthony Smith, walked in and told me that it would be an additional $50.00 because I didn’t answer the phone when he called to say he was on his way. I asked if he was joking and he told me no and that it was policy. When I went to call the company he then told me he was joking, but at NO point before was there a smile or indication of a joke, leaving me to believe he was testing the waters to see if he could scam money from a single female in a house. From there he told me I could only move 24 cubic feet and that he was only there to pick up two small bookcases and a small entertainment center. I told him no, that I could move what would be the size of two small dressers in my own SUV instead of paying $1,100 to a mover from Florida to North Carolina and that I was told I had more room if I wanted to move more. Who would pay to only move 24 cubic feet and who calls an entertainment center small?! It would be a tv stand if you really want to get technical. Anthony Smith then told me it would be $7.50 per extra cubic foot and then I called the company again, 5 times to be exact, before getting anyone to answer. Michelle finally answered and told me yes, I had up to 150 cubic feet to use. Anthony at that time walked out of my house and spoke to his operations manager who then miraculously told him the same thing. I added two night stands to max my alotted footage and he still wanted to tell me no. After the call finished, Anthony then tells me I can stop being uptight and sign the contract paperwork. I said, “Excuse me” and he then told me I had an attitude. May it be noted, I can guarantee he wouldn’t have tried this if I weren’t a solo woman- uptight and attitude are not words you use towards a man from another man. I told him he was trying to extort money from me and was shady and told him he needed to learn how to speak correctly to his people when he’s in their house. “Your people” as in your customers and yet Anthony called me a racist telling me he knew what “your people” meant, meanwhile the phrase is completely out of context! Of course I called Michelle again, and after a number of callls she finally picked up and then told me how she could see both sides and to take a few minutes a part before proceeding with the move. At this point you’re on the hook for money already paid out so I wasn’t about to cancel the job and watched them like a hawk as they moved my furniture, which amazingly enough all fit into 150 cubic feet. Also amazing was the fact that Anthony knew the ten pages of contract I had to sign by heart in explanation, yet wasn’t aware that the quote was for 150 cubic feet. Regardless, the furniture loaded quickly and soon enough they were gone.

Delivery:
With a delivery window from 7-10 pm, the delivery guy hit traffic and arrived after midnight- 2hrs late. The driver communicated every time there was a time change, which I appreciated & he was friendly/professional. Yet after my final payment was handed over to him, he proceeds to tell me that even though in my contract the first flight of stairs is FREE, it only counts as 7 stairs. In NO place in the contract is that stated. I got technical & heated explaining the difference between a floor and a flight, and then googled that the average flight is between 12-13 steps! He said he wasn’t going to argue and I told him I’d wait all night if needed but I’m not paying a dime more & would call the police for theft if he left with my things. He finally began moving my things in and that was it.

This is a shady business & it’s worth it to pay more to use a company who is more reputable, professional and can give you better peace of mind.

Good move.

I’ve tried quite many moving companies in search of a reliable one. I recently came across Roadrunner moving and storage via mymovingreviews.com via google and thought I’d take the risk just one more time. This experience was different from all the others I’ve had so far. To start off, the process was explained to me in quite detail. I didn’t feel like I was jumping into something blindly. Secondly, the packaging was done quite professionally and boxes were loaded carefully instead of being thrown around by the STAFF of Road runner moving. Granted a job well done in phase 2, none of my items were damaged. Extremely thankful to you guys and certainly would hire the services in the near future again.

I chose Road Runner Moving and Storage after a few recommendations from friends who had used their service before. They moved my furniture without any hassle and I was very happy. Do Not Use Road Runner Moving & Storage!

I moved from SoCal to Texas and from the moment they arrived at my apartment they seemed they did not want to move me. They began by letting me know what they couldn't bring without first charging me $800.00 more! They then began packing up my items (they did not label anything with my name or destination on the boxes)! They lost my 200 CD changer which goes to my component stereo system. They did not properly pack my refrigerator which resulted in one of the shelves being damaged. Some of the boxes were damaged, and needless to say, the items inside were damaged as well!! They were a nightmare from the time they arrived to the finish of my move!

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE AND WOULD RECOMMEND YOU LOOK ELSEWHERE UNLESS YOU HAVE MONEY TO BURN AND DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR ITEMS!!

THESE GUYS DESERVE TO BE OUT OF BUSINESS BECAUSE THEY DON'T SEEM TO CARE ABOUT THOSE PEOPLE THEY ARE MOVING OR DON'T CARE ABOUT REVIEWS!

Best I’ve seen!

I own a marketing agency. We were making the expansion plans, but every time our busy schedule and the anticipation of moving everything to a newer location actually stopped us in doing so. But last week, I have to know about Road runner moving and storage through a friend of mine. So, I decided to avail of their services. Believe me; the moving process including the packing in the previous office to the unpacking in the newer one was so smooth that I am really regretting not moving earlier. Good Move!

Since booking the services from road runner moving, I have found all of their employees well mannered and well behaved. (Obviously, without which I would not have booked their service). But these mannerisms have not remained limited to the pre-booking case only. During the process of moving and even after the services were provided and we got moved to our new house, the representative spoke nicely and provided the reason for everything they were doing upon asking. Even someone from their office called and asked for my experience with the team too and was ready to help me with anything further if I was not satisfied — best company for the people who are just as touchy about their stuff to move as me. Thank you road runner team!
