AVOID! Stole my money and won't respond

WARNING: BOOK AT YOUR OWN RISK, AVOID THIS MOVER!!!

I contacted them on June 11 for a move to be picked up on June 13. On the phone, the representative guaranteed us that our stuff would get picked up on time and billed us a deposit amount of $1,033. The company stopped picking up our calls thereafter and did not complete our move, nobody came to pick up our stuff. We have been asking to get our deposit amount refunded, but the company never picks up our calls or responds to our text or email messages.

It seems that I will not get my refund from this company so would want other consumers to avoid their services at all costs unless you want your hard-earned money to be stolen.

Long-distance move from Englewood, FL to Goffstown, NH

SCUM!!!!

My 75yr old mother in law needed to move back to NH from Florida, she hired Road Runner and they gave her a pick up date in June 2021 and a drop of day in June 2021, she gave them a down payment. The date came for pick up and they never showed, never called. I finally got in touch with them and they said that they could not get her stuff to NH by the date they agreed upon. So she needed to find another agency, it has been 3 months and they have not refunded her the deposit she put down even though they were the ones who could not keep to the agreement. I have been calling for 3 months and no one answers or gets back to me.

This company is stealing from people and they should be shut down. Looks like a lawyer is our next move.

Criminal Enterprise

These Criminals Stolen all of my life belongings, refuse to refund my service fees and stole my property claiming they cannot find all of my belongings not one all of it. They asked me to file for claim which was going to pay me $720 for my belongings. Road runners should be stopped, Ignored the reviews and learnt the hard way by having to start over again, losing all my family memories and memorabilia.

Long-distance move from Miami, FL to San Francisco, CA

Classic bait and switch, avoid!!!!

Had to move across the country, and after being called by 20 different moving companies, Steve was the first friendly face I encountered. His price was $2k, around 30% cheaper than the rest of the moving companies. Therefore, I immediately said yes and gave a $400 deposit for my move. Excited that I had finally solved the moving problem, I waited for movers to show up two weeks later.

At around 2 P.M. three men show up to my apartment. The first man comes in and after glancing around for 30 seconds, states that I have double the amount of stuff from the estimate, and that it will now be $3,000. With my flight only a few days away and the movers at my apartment, I had no choice but to say yes. Additionally, I had been quoted for a full service move, now, these men wanted to charge me per stair, per elevator use, and for every 75 feet. MAKE SURE YOU READ THEIR SCUMMY CONTRACT AS THEY WILL CHARGE YOU FOR ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING!!!! THEIR CONTRACT IS MADE TO CHARGE YOU FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE YOU WILL GET IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Finally, after they take my stuff away, the main man harasses me for a tip. He continues to say 'make sure you take care of us, make sure, make sure, etc.' Afraid my stuff will not arrive safely, I give each of the 3 of them, $40. Absolute scumbags.

Then, I call Steve, tell him that my $2k move is now $3k and that I was harassed for a tip. Steve says that it isn't ok, and that he will look into it. However, he is just a salesman, and there is nothing he can do.

So, I bite the bullet and pray that my stuff will make it. Two weeks later, I get a call that my belongings will arrive on a Wednesday. Wednesday morning, I get a call stating that the truck is broken, and that it will be Friday. So, I book another two nights in a hotel ($300). Friday morning, I get another call stating that it will be closer to Sunday. I book another night in a hotel ($150), and take the loss.

Saturday comes around and I call to see what time they are going to arrive so I can plan accordingly. After speaking to the truck driver, he states that his 18-wheeler will not fit on my street and that it will not make it up the small hill to me. So therefore, I have to pay for a 'shuttle service.' I had assumed that my 'full service' move meant that they had taken into account where they we're delivering the goods. So now, I am told it is going to be another $400-800 depending on the U-haul they have to rent. I am in awe that my $2,000 move had now become over $4,000. If I knew that was going to be the case, I would've sold my belongings and bought new furniture.

So, I decide to call the front office, (30 minutes of being transferred around to speak with someone). Man answers, is completely and utterly rude, and essentially tells me that he doesn't want to be working on a Sunday anyway and that he cannot help me. I tell him that it is illegal that they did a bait-and-switch and he tells me to take them to court then (which I'm sure people do often). Finally, I tell him I own a marketing company and that I am going to make sure reviews go out whether they do a great or a terrible job. He speaks to his boss finally, and the boss says, if you're willing to put out good reviews for us and bring us business, we will take care of the cost of the shuttle. I say fine, and we agree.

I get a call the next morning, the day that belongings are supposed to arrive, and the driver (who is contracted, does not work for RoadRunner), states that there is no way the shuttle will be covered, and that I will have to pay for it. I call RoadRunner back, and the man answers and basically says you either pay it or you don't get your stuff, despite agreeing to cover it the day prior. I spend hours looking for the business owners name after being hung up on by every person in the company. And finally, I say to myself that I need to get my belongings that are being held hostage, so I say bring my stuff and I will pay for it.

They deliver my belongings that Monday, I give them the remaining amount of money (cash of course, because they know everyone would dispute if it was anything but). So, here I am, screwed out of $4,000 for a $2,000 move. Everyone at RoadRunner are scumbags and should not be allowed to operate a business. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ROAD RUNNER MOVING. THEY WILL BAIT AND SWITCH YOU AND CHARGE YOU DOUBLE!!!! I will be following up with small-claims court, and taking any route I can to get my money back.

They are scammer.

They are liars and thrives. I am shocked by the level of service I received. They are unavailable to you when the foreman comes in with new charges and up sales but add an additional fee that you are not aware of. They double your cost at every chance they get. I believe their own employees are writing their own reviews.

Worst Movers - Bad Customer Service.

Gosh, so many terrible things happened on my move. I'll give you the highlights:

After I paid my deposit, I pretty much took on the responsibility of following up with Chris Anderson (salesman), Mike Miller (logistics/sales/general manager) or Kelwin (driver/mover) every step of the way.

I was told before I signed the contract that the entire process would take 5 (maybe 7) days. My pick up window on the contract was Sunday Dec 9 - Monday Dec 11 but it wasn't until after numerous follow ups and VMs to Chris and Mike that I finally managed to coordinate a pick up "at the end of the week" - not helpful. I was forced to take matters into my own hands and reach out to the driver directly. Roadrunners did not show up until Friday, Dec. 14, which was 4 days out of the window. Luckily I had some flexibility in my move out or I would have been screwed with not knowing where to put my things.

During the pick up I asked the driver when I can expect delivery. He said early the following week, maybe around Tuesday or Wednesday. This was not ideal since that was another 5 days away at the latest and I was sleeping on an air mattress without any pillows or blankets in the middle of the Chicago winter. When Tuesday Dec. 18 rolled around and no one reached out to me, I called the driver again. He said he was still in Pennsylvania, doing a pick up. This was very frustrating to hear. I was sleeping in the cold in an empty apartment and NO ONE had bothered to call to inform me that there would be a delay. If I didn't contact the driver, I wouldn't have known where in the US my things were. When Chris sold me on their service, he told me about how many trucks they had and what a big line of business they were operating, so there wouldn't be delay in their service. Even if that were true, (which, it probably isn't since Mike Miller has three different titles that I know of) all that did nothing for me now that they prioritized more pick ups, over their commitment to getting my stuff delivered to me on time.

When my belongings finally came, it was Christmas Eve, Monday Dec 24. Counting from the last day of my original quoted pick up window of Dec 11, IT TOOK 14 DAYS FOR MY THINGS TO ARRIVE.

The driver came with one helper that didn't worked for RoadRunners. He was obviously frustrated that the driver spoke in circles and was slow on the paperwork. He became impatient and said at several points that it was taking too long, and that he wanted to leave. *face palm*. The driver would also relay that message to me and uhhhh I should not need to deal something like that as the customer.

After all my things were in my apartment, I discovered that 3 of my dining chairs were left behind in the other truck, which the driver admitted was his fault. It made me very nervous that more of my belongings were left behind so I tried to unpack as much as I could to make sure that everything was accounted for. Did I mention that it was Christmas Eve at this point? He was leaving town the next day so it was a nerve-filled holiday of frantic unpacking as fast as possible. During this process, I discovered that my air purifier was damaged. See photo. It's made of metal so it must have been dropped from pretty high up in order to cause that kind of damage. One of my mirrors also arrived broken..I paid too much money for my things to me handled so carelessly.

When I brought this up to Mike Miller, I was met with the worst customer service I've encountered in a very long time. Nothing seemed to be their fault and did not take any responsibility for the miscommunication or lack there of. For my broken things, he only offered a generic email apology. I tried to reason with him, only to be dismissed. I left that conversation feeling like they're going to keep making the same mistakes over and over again..

My whole experience was a complete nightmare. Save yourself from the verge of pulling your hair out and avoid these people like the plague!

Long-distance move from Ohio to Florida

Ohio to fla 1 bedroom.

XXXXX. Run far and fast. Bait and switch. Over promise and under deliver. Customer no service. Read the fine print. Once they pick you up you are at their mercy. My promise of a 3-5 day move took 11 days. Was Quoted $1200 (and I sent pictures) but after truck loaded the driver said it was over the estimated cubic feet quoted and charged an additional $500. After the truck left the real fun started. 54 phone calls later I got delivered. They also don’t accept credit card or personal check so you cannot dispute or stop payment. Avoid them like the plague.

Buyer Beware!!

No matter the amount of due diligence..you still are going to get duped. I originally contracted with a company that completely lied to me -- e-ship Corp. and the sales rep Josh. I was told that they are not a broker and they guaranteed to me a delivery date. A week before the job, I receive a call from a company called Road Runner who tells me that they are executing me move. They were not willing to uphold the guarantee on the agreement with e-ship, uphold the price, or handle the job as contracted - pack, load, and unload for the binding price. It took much negotiation. The team shows up on 3/24/19 much later than anticipated (time range given was 9A-3P) at 6p.m. and work until 9p.m.; I incur costs from the apartment building for keeping the elevator on a weekend until 9p.m., and then the mover says that my cubic feet is double than the binding estimate. And, with all of this, I still never received a refund for my deposit with e-ship. A lot of poor business practices. Totally unacceptable and I am not going to be duped by this. I have been flexible and understanding. Enough is enough. Stay away from this company by all costs!! And, from E-ship. Be careful of what lies are told to you. Buyer beware.

Great Moving Experience

Three movers showed up on time with a semi-truck to load my tables. All three movers have been very polite and confirmed care in what they did. These movers have been professional, careful, and attentive to requests I had made. I had some very pricey furnishings and they took excellent care of everything. I would strongly endorse this moving company for large moves. From the enhanced quote I acquired from Roadrunner moving, the front office complies with up and confirmation – alongside with the proper move, this company provided a stress free experience. Thank you to Steve and Ryan, the moving team heads!!!

Worst company Ever do not hire these guys!

I suggest hiring another moving company unless you want your furniture 3 months later!! I feel bad writing a bad review bacause everything was ok from 1 to 2. expect for the most important part #3 delivery dates. I stll haven't seen my furniture and their 4 behind scheduled delivery date. on the phone they tell you what you want to hear. till its time to deliver on their promise now dispatch is no longer picking up their phones. putting you on hold is one thing not picking up the phone at all that's bad customer service.I can tell they pay people to write these good reviews because their service is no where near 5 stars! you been warn!! on their contracts they give themselves a 2 month leeway to deliver your furniture who's going to wait two months for delivery that right there was a red flag, but Im moving for work so I had no time to argue. the sale person was very professional the pickup guys was also very professional but delivery is something they lack and it says it on their contract I should have known. don't be scammed by these guys that these reviews are for!!
