So I've heard some negative reviews about this company but they seemed like they were thrown way out of proportion. I decided to try them anyway to see how bad they supposedly were. I sent them an email with my inventory list and we agreed on the movers arriving to the house at 10 am. They showed up at 9:58 and three guys. I was careful to tell them which items were fragile because I didn't want them breaking anything. However, I found out that this was unnecessary as they were extremely careful with everything. (This was very noticeable when I looked over my stuff when I arrived; there was only a cracked photo in one of the boxes, but that was undoubtedly because I dropped the box while I was rearranging some of the stuff around) They arrived at the time that we arranged over email and and were just as careful unloading as they were loading. As for the cost,  we agreed on around $3000, which I found to be completely reasonable considering the amount I had to move and the service I received. I've recommended this to another of my friends who was considering moving and they were equally please with the service.

These guys are awesome. Helped us move my 1 bedroom apartment to a 2 bedroom house. Super efficient and professional. Covered all furniture with protective sheets and tightly wrapped each one. Nothing was damaged in the process. They disassembled and reassembled our furniture. No hidden fees, no surprises. We will be keeping them in mind for our next move and will certainly refer our friends and family to them. Highly recommended. The cost of the move was about $4000 coming from Miami, Fl to Richmond, CA, which took 12 days, which is great under these special circumstances.

I am extremely disgusted with the service of this company. I dealt with this company almost 2 and half MONTHS ago and I am still dealing with this company with the BBB. They were unprofessional the entire time after they received my down payment and I wish I would have backed out then. I went from being quoted 1440 to over 2100 as soon as one of the "helpers" walked through. He didn't really look at anything just walked through my home and said "oh I see right off that you will be taking up more space than quoted for". I tried to talk to my sales rep multiple times and they would not let me. The same woman and guy kept answering the phone. My sales rep, Mark, finally answered my emails a few days later about my items. I was told I would receive a delivery date right after they picked my things up and I didn't get a date till 14 DAYS later!! Who does that?! Surely not a professional company. How do you expect a family to be without their household items for 15 days?! And not know anything at all till 14 days later?! They were so RUDE to me when I would call asking about MY things. Like seriously?! I paid money for those things. Of course I have the right to know where they are and when they would be delivered. Especially after paying more. If you want to be cheated choose this company!! If you want your things delivered 2 weeks later after moving to your home, choose this company!! If you what your valuables to be stored in a NON East Coast moving truck and items BROKEN, choose this company!! If you want rude customer service reps talking to you like you're an idiot, choose this company. I tried to settle with this company telling them if our original quote could be accepted basically we would be okay but no they are money hungry and didn't agree. We want the money to pay for our broken items they WILL not pay for. I mean 120 days to finish a claim? What a joke. This company shouldn't even be allowed to service anybody!! Bunch of brokers!!

Service cost: $2100

1) Original estimate included all the same items as pickup (289 cubic feet estimated), I am not a moving expert nor do I claim to know how many cubic feet my items occupy. This could all depend on how the movers packed the items in the truck, therefore since the items were same at pickup as described in the estimate I do not feel responsible for this additional charge of 111 cubic feet.
 
2) During pickup the movers claimed my items occupied 400 cubic feet however would not allow us to verify. They were "anxious to return home" and advised "disputes are to be made with corporate".
 
3) The cubic footage rate charged on final paperwork was handwritten at $4.15 instead of $3.50 listed on the estimate contract. This in turn increased fuel charge by $70.
 
4) Charged for bed covering $80 not listed in contract or mentioned by sales associate when asked if there were any additional charges not covered in estimate.
 
5) Charged additional fee due to paying with credit card, not advised by sales associate and differs from the contract. I paid first 30% with an American Express which contractually they do not accept (inconsistent). The movers advised credit cards are a 3% increase, the office stated 3.5% increase and the forms state up to 7% increase (inconsistent). My credit card was charged $373.77 instead of $359 listed on the estimate (which is not consistent with any of their increases).
 
6) Sales associate advised I should receive a call 24/48 hours prior to move to secure date/time. I wasn't called by the company until the 5/25/15 at 7pm EST. I emailed the sales associate that morning to request an update. This was the day I had requested to move and the mover asked if he could come pick up my items at 10:30 pm EST, he then advised to disregard the other voicemail I received stating 8-10am pickup and they would arrive at 7am EST. They did not arrive until 9am EST on 5/26/15.
 
7) The movers were unprofessional, the foreman was on the phone with his significant other stating that he would be home soon. He complained the whole time that he was on site stating he had not been home in a month. He also stated they are contracted out to a variety of moving companies, however East Coast states they are employees not contractors. The foreman kept acting as though he was doing me favors or that most people at that company keep things from the customer, insinuating there were many more "hidden" fees than what I was being charged.
 
8) The foreman was a large 350 pound 6'4 man who intimidated me to fill out customer satisfaction form while he watched. I was determined to dispute the charges before he left however he stated that he was in a hurry to get home and I would need to "contact HQ". 
 
9) Advised on 5/28/15 that there is a minimum of $1,200 moving however it is not on the estimate forms or anywhere in the paperwork.

I have booked my home belongings on 3rd May 15 and till 29th I was only following up on their call center number and after long hold they say 'we are trying to contact driver and get back to you'. No calls received.  After long time they come with HUGE HUGE truck and then called me said Truck is not going inside apartment area and you need to pay for Shuttle service ($450 extra). When I pushed back they immediately returned without delivery and no call nothing after then. When I started following up again, now they are saying you need to pay for Shuttle Re delivery charges.
I got frustrated with this moving service company.Once they got full payment from customer they have no care of customer goods/belongings.
I really need help and I am still stuggling with this company for my belongings.

I recently moved from Tallassee, Florida to Michigan and I just have to say I was surprised with how polite and professional the staff was at East Coast Moving and Storage. They showed up at my apartment in a timely fashion and were extremely efficient. When they arrived early at my new house in Michigan I was extremely grateful that nothing was damaged or stolen. If at any point in the future I have to move across the state I will definitely be using this company again the pricing was fair and affordable.

I hate moving, even if it's just a few miles away. Imagine moving to a whole new state!! My family had to move from Pennsylvania to Ohio for my husband's job. I had never used a moving service, but my friend recommended East Coast Moving and Storage. The planning was quick and easy. On moving day, the workers showed up. They were friendly, courteous and ready to work. All of my property arrived in perfect condition and I could not be happier with the results!! I would recommend East Coast Moving and Storage to anyone who needs to do a move, whether it's down the road or across the country!! .

Moving has always been a pain for my family. The kids never want to pack their things. Personally, I don't blame them. But the actual moving part gets exhausting.We moved from Florida to Colorado and East Coast Moving & Storage were some real life savers. On the day of our move, the movers showed up early(which was awesome). They were careful and proffesional; never once did my family have a problem with them. When we finally got to our new home, they were there waiting for us with all of our possessions intact. Our final bill was quoted at around $3000. Definetley the best way to go!!

My daughter and her two children were coming back home to Florida and had a house-full of furniture, clothes, toys and personal effects. I have a friend who lives near her who had recently moved from Florida to Texas. When I asked who moved him, he recommended East Coast Moving and Storage. I'm glad I took the recommendation. The quoted "estimate" was exactly what we paid. Everything was loaded with care, and the driver and loaders were great with the kids who wanted to "help". Everything arrived in one piece. They unloaded and placed all of the cartons and furniture where my daughter asked them to, and they took extra care to protect the doors and walls. They even wiped their feet every time they entered the house. This is a professional moving company and I highly recommend them to anyone.

I had a group of four guys and they did an awesome job. When they arrived they got right to work and did not take a break. They really come to do the job. Very friendly and professional. Handled all of my belongings with care and my new place is on the third floor. And I have enough stuff to furnish a three bedroom house. They took extra care wrapping all of my furniture up and even more care with more expensive items. I highly recommend East Coast and will use them again.

My husband and I hired these guys to move us from Illionois to Idaho. We were more than pleased with their service. The staff were very professional and considering how far of a drive it was, we only spend around $3,000. Everything was delivered in one piece and on a timely fashion! I would most definitely hire these guys again. They really do make moving 10 times easier. I have 3 kids and a husband, the last thing I need is to stress over a huge move! Definitely money well spent!

My daughter is moving to Jax from north Miami. She was told ..Chinese same or next day delivery over.. 9.. days ago! I am a Doctor and prefer the truth as well as some respect for the youth of America. I spoke with a nice lady who told me the delivery would be early afternoon Saturday, she said the truck was in route and their were delays because of South Florida T-Storms. Megan tells me that they called today to explain that the truck was in fact up north, in a snow storm. They now estimate delivery next week. This is unacceptable as a business practice. I was nothing but polite. There seems to exist, a pattern of misinformation and outright deceit.This is precisely why America is falling behind other countries economically. Poor Poor Service . When moving from Indianapolis,Indiana to Scottdale,GA. I was concerned not only with effects of such a long distance move would impact my growing family but how and whom would move everything we ever had to our new home. I have moved more than once because my job requires it of me but in the past other movers I have gone with have been less than satisfactory. So this time upon the advice of my friend I did some extra research and boy did I luck out with this company. Not only were the movers actually on time, they were courteous and very professional even stacking it in a different order when my five year old son became concerned about his fluffy ( a stuffed cat) would be harmed. Definitely would go with them again with if I move again anytime soon.

After past troubles moving by myself I decided to seek professionals. East Coast Moving & Storage saved me an enormous headache and gave outstanding service. This move was a big one and my wife was worried about some of our fragile items and new furniture. These guys put her worries to rest. Not only did we move an outrageous amount of items quickly but nothing was misplaced or harmed. The movers were courteous and genuinely cared about our items.I think the best part about this experience is the price. These guys give fair prices and go above and beyond what you pay them to do. If you are like me and hate moving, do yourself a favor and have these professionals do it for you.

I am very pleased to have done business with East Coast Moving and Storage! I recently made a move from Ohio to North Carolina, in order for my husband to better pursue his career and for us to be closer to our families. The overall cost of my move was about $2200, which was a great deal compared to other offers I had received from other moving companies. The staff was very professional and easy to work with, in terms of what I needed to occur in order for this move to be successful. I would highly recommend this service to anyone, based off of the wonderful experience I’ve had!

I started my interaction with East Coast Moving and Storage on November 12th, 2015. I had to move a fully furnished 2 bedroom apartment and a 10x15 storage from Illinois all the way down south to Tennessee, so this was no small job. However, East Coast Moving were extremely professional, and offered reasonable moving prices, so I decided to proceed with using them to move me. Everything was scheduled without any hiccup.

On the day of the packing and moving, East Coast sent over a team of professionals who were all very hardworking, meticulous, and thorough. Everything was packed to perfection into the moving truck and well protected. In addition, the move was smooth without ANY items breaking. Ultimately, thanks to East Coast, the 7+ hour move went wonderfully without any bumps or unexpected delays. I am extremely pleased with the ease of use and professionalism of East Coast Moving and Storage. I highly recommend this company for anyone's future moving needs!

I had a long move ahead of me and any moving company I have tried have let me down. I decided to give East Coast Moving & Storage a try ,they were awesome. The customer service rep. helped me in everyway she could and answered every question. The movers came and worked very quickly and my belongings were handled with care. I knew where the movers where at all times they arrived on time and just overall did a great job. I plan on using this company if I ever need to move again.

This company assured me they were not brokers and that they would be delivering my daughters goods in Long Beach Ca between the 21st and 23rd of May. On Tuesday the 18th of May they called to say they could deliver then. Since we were not arriving until the 20th. That would be impossible. They then brought her furniture to Las Vegas dumped it in a trailer and left it. Another company was now delivering it. Wouldn't have been a problem except that on Sat the 22nd the other moving company informed me I owed an extra $1229.62 because a check for that amount bounced. It did not but East Coast Movers donot receive calls on the weekends. The new company said if I didn't pay the amount again they would not deliver and they would put it in storage. They assured me that East Coast Movers would make good. Nope. Also furnitur was broken and a dresser missing. Now they will not return my calls. My bank gave me all the proof that my check was always good.

Had an awful time with this company. They..

1. Did not show up on the scheduled day, costing my wife a second day off of work.
2. Arrived with paperwork and a "revised" estimate, increasing the original by $300. When this increase was pointed out to them, they reversed the total. If we had not caught it, we would have paid more.
3. Brought an 18 wheeler to my home with a long narrow driveway, would not drive it back to the house, and charged us $700 in additional "long carry" fees. They informed us that they could have brought a smaller truck, but only after they arrived.

In short, they give low estimates up front, and then nickel and dime you to death. There are stairs fees, shuttle fees, etc. I would never recommend this company to anyone. They are part mover, part scam artist. Pay no attention to the Better Business Bureau reviews. They openly say that their positive reviews are NOT from personal moving experience, but from the company to be "easy to work with," presumably about complaints. So let the buyer beware!
