East Coast Moving & Storage

I moved from Chicago to Los Angeles CA and I don't recommend this company for long distance move. The sales agent initial quote for moving a one bedroom unit was $2,095 and after everything got picked up and delivered..my final moving expense ended up to be at $3,325. This company charge you on everything and the agent provides false information especially when I asked how long it will take for my things to get to LA.. He said 8-10 days.. Well it ended up to be 23 days! Moving is already a huge undertaking and a reliable and honest movers would have been nice.. Unfortunately that wasn't the case for me. I hope this review will serve its purpose for those other people looking for a reliable moving company.

I loved the professionalism , &  great customer service East coast moving service offered my family & I . We moved from Florida to Maryland. East coast moving service arrived at our old home on time, safley packaged our belongs and transported it .I was astonished with the delivery time, it arrived at our new home in MD shortly after being picked up. I recently refered a family member to East Coast moving simply becuase they offered me a high level of service. .

I had a horrible experience with East Cost Moving, which resulted in the cancellation of my move on moving day.  I spoke with Rich on the phone twice for about 30 min each time because I had a lot of questions.  He seemed very genuine.  I was given a quote of $1200, and actually this was the minimum, even though I had LESS than the minimum load by quite a bit.  Everything I owned was already boxed up and stacked OCD-style in the garage, so I had a very clear idea of how much space I needed and what items I had.   I asked if my stuff would be transported from truck to storage and back to truck, and I was told NO, it was going straight on a truck in part of a "piggyback move" and would go straight to my destination. I also made sure they took American Express and was clear that that was the only card I had with any money on it and my only available form of payment.   Then--surprise, surprise!--they show up and tell me they are going to charge me $1800 instead of $1200, saying my piano--which they knew about--needed special handling.  They tried to play like they were giving me a good deal, saying they were going to cut this fee and that fee, but all the while trying to screw me.  They've already got guys loading my stuff onto the truck.   Then they want me to sign a contract saying that I will pay cash or money order--which I don't have.  The foreman--Wade-- was rude, pushy, and bullying.  His workers, aside from looking like a group of homeless guys--were fine.   They try to screw you when your stuff is half on their truck and you have to get moved that day and you have no other options, but I refused to be taken advantage of and I told them to get my things off the truck and get out of there.  I used some more choice words than that, but you can imagine how frustrating this situation is.   In the end, they through my boxes haphazardly into the garage and left.  My 72-year-old mother is flying down on the same day to drive my car back 1500 miles and I picked up a UHaul truck instead.   HUGE HASSLE.  They tell you what you want to hear to get the sale and then screw you on moving day when you're options are limited.  THIS IS THE WORST THING YOU CAN DO TO SOMEONE AT AN ALREADY STRESSFUL TIME.  DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.  .

My move went extremely well! Movers showed up early and even helped pack boxes, my wife and I were thrilled. All movers were dressed professional and clean cut with neat appearances. The movers were professional and courteous. My wife and family are incredibly pleased with the service and the price of East Coast Moving & Storage! I highly recommend East Coast Moving & Storage to anyone looking for a professional and courteous, great priced moving company.

My husband and I were relocating due to his job moving to New York. As we all know, moving is such a stressful event. I was sitting home one day and came across this website: http://www.moveroftheyear.com. I was immediately interested. I called them up and got a quote of $3,000 and it was much more reasonable than other companies I had called. They arrived on time and the staff was very professional. They cared for our items as if it were there own. When we arrived in New York from Maine, our things were in the same condition as they were when they were loaded onto the truck! My husband was very happy because he was worried about his antique train collection. I am very pleased with the service to the point where I recommended them to other collegues of mine. This is an All-Star Excellent company. I will be using them again. But not too soon hopefully.

It was the best decision I could have made. They determined the size of my move and set everything up immediately. The price of $2350 that they quoted me never changed. They arrived on time, went over the paperwork with me, and assured me that they would take care of everything, which they did. They called to make sure that someone would be home when they arrived, and they arrived on time with all my items intact. They carefully unpacked my items from the truck, took them to their respective rooms, and assembled the items that they assured they would. They handled the rest of the payment with ease, we finished the final paperwork, and they thanked me for my business. I would not hesitate to use East Coast Moving and Storage for any of my moving needs and would recommend them to anyone for any size move.

I almost didn't want to move because moving can be overwhelming. Logistics must be handled carefully and there's no room for slacking. Needless to say, I was feeling a little stressed out. I'm glad to say that East Coast Moving helped wipe away any fears I had. When my stuff arrived at my new home, everything was intact. The staff were professional and courteous throughout the duration of the process. The cost was a little over 2k so it was reasonable. I'm pretty pleased with this service and if I'm ever in the business of moving again, I know who I'll call.

I had to make a move from Pennsylvania to New York due to a career change, and it couldn't have been easier had I not used this company. This is the first time I've used a service for moving rather than hauling myself, and let me say that this is 100x more convenient and cost-effective than doing anything on my own. The staff was very professional and courteous, and my belongings made it on time and intact. The crew were very careful and precise with my furniture. The move was very easy and great. I'm more than pleased with my experience with this company, and the service more than exceeded my expectations.
