Long-distance move from Victoria, BC to Barrie, ON

A+ service from beginning to end.

After plugging in my details on allcanadamoving.com and literally receiving 20+ companies contact me with quotes, I had some researching to do to decide which company to go with. I decided on Centennial, and I'm very happy I did. They moved our very full one+ bedroom apartment (including my hoard of clothes) and my car from Victoria, BC to Barrie,ON and from the time of booking, to delivering the last box, I was blown away with the level of professionalism and service received. Movers arrived and delivered within both time windows, and they work speedily! We tried our best to have everything move-ready, although our bed needed to be taken apart further to fit in the truck, every bolt and nut was accounted for on the other end and there was zero damage to anything. I picked up my car a couple of weeks prior to having our stuff delivered (it was placed in storage), and even the chap who worked at the storage facility (a non-related company), remarked about how excellent Centennial was and how hard the guys work. I've never had to move cross-country before and I was really nervous about the whole experience (especially because everything has to come across on a ferry from Victoria to the main land), but now that I've done it, I can't recommend Centennial Moving enough!! Note about the service cost: this price includes my 300 Chrysler, which is a heavy car.

Long-distance move from Red Deer, AB to Toronto, ON

Red Deer to Toronto with Centennial.

Hi Centennial Moving,
I want to thank you moving my belongings from Red Deer AB to Toronto.
The goods came to Toronto without any damages, every thing was wrapped in front of me properly and secured in to the truck. I was fascinated on how the mover was working, really fast and good service from the mover. The costumer support was polite and kind. the goods arrived sooner than I expected, and that was really good, because I needed them to be in Toronto as soon as possible, they took full responsibility for moving my items an time and they did it.
Thank you very much again Centennial Moving.

Recent Move to Medicine Hat Alberta.

I am extremely pleased with the whole experience. I when posted my request, I received a call from Warren and he was very professional. Every detail was explained, from the location which was a storage facility in Winnipeg to my home. If there was any questions, he emailed quickly.
The move took only a week from time he contacted me to the actually delivery.
The driver was alone, his helper did not show up,, but he was able to do the move, as there was only boxes and a few pieces of small furniture. He placed blankets on the carpet so nothing was damaged. The driver showed up on time and was very polite.
I would definitely use this company again and recommend it to anyone that needs a good reliable company.
Once again thank for your service.

Professional and polite.

I would like to give a note and thank Centennial for giving us the best experience for moving our 2 bedroom house from Winnipeg to Toronto ON. Movers were extremely polite, professional and very efficient. They have disassembled my bedroom set, wrapped it tightly, and loaded on the truck. Delivery was very smooth, they placed all my furniture were they suppose to be and reassembled my bedroom set. Prior the booking and mover arrival, Centennial's agents were very knowledgeable and had my complete move arranged very smoothly.
Keep up the great work and professionalism Centennial!
Thank you!

From Charlottetown to Vancouver.

Centennial has moved me from Charlottetown to Vancouver and I cannot say enough how happy I am for choosing Centennial to arrange my move as I had some of the horrible experiences in moving across the country, Centennial did the move with orchestrated way and an effortless to me, they have packed everything, load them into the truck and drove all the way to Vancouver, reached on time, paid them the balance and got my goods in perfect shape, as easy as it sounds, Thank you Centennial, will surely recommend you!

Awful Customer Service.

The packing of the materials was the only good thing this company did. They kept the moving date till the last minute and it took much longer than the time window they had given me.
The stuff they did move into my new apartment was damaged.
The customer service representative I was talking to to discuss move in dates was rude and threatening when I expressed concerns and when I let him know the details of my moving.
Awful, wish I could've changed company, but they only mention the details after you've paid.

Long-distance move from Vancouver, BC to Montreal, QC

Please try a different moving company.

This was a truly ridiculous experience. I've moved several times from country to country, and I've never had a more inept moving service.

I contracted Centennial Moving to move a small amount of furniture and personal items from Vancouver BC to Montreal QC. They, at the time of deposit, told me that the move should take 8-14 days typically. I wasn't looking forward to spend the time in my new empty condo, but I understand that they can't simply teleport my items there. So, I paid the deposit, and on began my nightmare experience.

The team sent to pick up my items in Vancouver were professional, friendly, and quick. They both remarked at how little that I had for them to move, and said it would take about 90 minutes to load the truck properly, and they were basically correct. They wrapped all my unboxed items in moving blankets, and secured them with packing tape. Each item was labeled and numbered. It was impressive.

I took a little vacation (to avoid an unnecessary empty week in my condo), and then arrived in Montreal seven days after the pick up, so I would be available when they arrived. I hadn't heard from the company since they've picked up my items, but once again, I understand that they're not exactly going to give me daily updates. So, my wait begins.

Around day 15, I send them an email. I get back a, "It'll get there when it gets there, and we'll let you know". Curt, and unapologetic, but it's only a day late.

Around day 20, I send another email. It's ignored.

Around day 24, I call. I'm told that they're going to talk to dispatch and call me right back. They don't.

Around day 28, I call again. I ask why I wasn't called back about my delivery window, and they again suggest that they're going to talk to dispatch and call me back. I insist that they need to call me back this time. They tell me I will get my stuff next month, at the end of the first week, or during the second week. Six weeks after pickup. I'm understandably angry, and I ask how I'll be compensated. He says that he will talk to the manager and will call me back. He does not call me back.

Around day 30, I call again, and ask again about compensation. I get the same reply, and I insist that he actually call me back. He calls back about 10 minutes later, and says they're willing to discount my move by $50 dollars, and not a penny more. I have some back and forth about how that's insulting and inadequate. He isn't apologetic, and basically says thems the breaks.

Around day 40, I still haven't heard from them, I call again. I'm starting to think my items are never going to arrive. I go through the "talk to the dispatch" routine, and basically tell them I'll wait on the line, and they call back and tell me that they're going to deliver my items later than expected (Surprise surprise), but it will be before the weekend.

Day 43, I get my bill. They've vastly inflated the weight of my items. They suggest that I have just under 2000lbs, but it's actually impossible. I have 3 large boxes (mostly light), 3 medium boxes, TV, printer, soundbar, sofa, coffee table, side table, nightstand, queen bed/frame, two suitcases, a light ikea chair, a small desk, computer chair, two wire/cloth drawers, and a bookshelf. A generous 1300lbs or so, but I would believe up to around 1600lbs. I'd be skeptical at 1800lbs, and completely in disbelief at 2000lbs. There is no method of really arguing anything, and they don't send any sort of proof/documentation to show your items (ONLY) being weighed. However, your items are being held hostage.

They also tell me that their large truck will not be able to make the delivery, so I will have to pay $150 for a 'shuttle team' to move my items into my condo. After some arguing, and bringing up the 45 days it took it deliver, they finally, begrudgingly agree to waive the shuttle fee.

Day 45, the contracted crew to drop my stuff off was great. They did it quickly, without any fuss.

Be very wary if you choose to do business with this company.

Official company response

Hello Lance,

Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to share your grievances on how our services do not meet up with your expectations.

Our greatest desire is to ensure our customers are satisfied at all levels and find the most suitable way to fix their problems.

Upon discussion with the dispatch and manager the problem we faced with the truck delay, it was agreed to waive the shuttle fee of $150 from your final bill. Also, there was another $50 discount applied.

There are many factors affecting the delivery timeframe and while doing consolidates moves it's practically impossible to predict everything that can happen on the road. We were forced to switch drivers due to an emergency one of them had and finding a replacement took us some time that actually caused the delay.

I want to use this opportunity to tell you that we are sorry for the difficulties you have encountered as a result of this problem.

Best regards,
AEnergy Team.

Long-distance move from Winnipeg, MB to Vancouver, BC

Sit back and let the movers do the work.

From Winnipeg to Vancouver was a solid move for me. Basically started searching online for a couple of months beforehand. centennial were one of the first to pop up. They seemed like they had a good history of moves and had some nice positive reviews online. Estimate was simple and comprehensive. Quote was competitive. So I decided to go with them. Staff were quite friendly and approachable. They got the job done concisely and I just sat back and let them get on with it. This is how a relocation service should work, right ! Thanks very much.

Long-distance move from Cobourg, ON to Bridgewater, NS

So disappointed!!

I had to move some furniture from my family home in Ontario (after the death of my mother) to my own home in Nova Scotia. I contacted a dozen moving companies and selected Centennial Moving based on their price estimate and their on-line reviews. Just days before the scheduled move, they cancelled on me! They said a driver got sick so my move was off. I was shocked that such a big, well-rated, national company could be so poorly staffed that one driver being sick could cause this. Their cancellation caused me so much extra stress at an already stressful time in my life. The only good things I can say is that the representative, Max, communicated well with me, and I did get my deposit back. But what good is a moving company that doesn't fulfill their obligation to move your things??

Hello Mary,

Thank you for taking the time to share your grievances on how our services do not meet up with your expectations.

Our greatest desire is to ensure our customers are satisfied at all levels and find the most suitable way to fix their problems accordingly.

This is something we couldn't foresee in advance. We do have enough drivers, but being in high season, our other drivers had already been engaged with their own moves.

Furthermore, we will assess your complaints to deduct measures we can adopt to prevent issues of this nature in subsequent times.

We want to use this opportunity to tell you that we are deeply sorry for the difficulties you had encountered as a result of this problem. Our aspiration is to keep you as one of our valued customers, and we hope to serve you better in the future.

By way of compensation, we'd like to extend the offer of a discounted price for your next move or your friends', or relatives'. We know it doesn't make up for how you were treated, but please accept this small gesture as a symbol of our regret.

Great choice.

Just had a move from Markham to BC. There was so many different movers to choose from. In the end I chose Centennial not only because of their good reputation, but also because the initial contact I had with them went so well. My hundreds of boxes were dispatched carefully and not one of them was lost in the process. They were very accommodating of my needs including arrival time in BC. There was clear, open and constant communication throughout pickup to delivery. Great way to do business.

Not recomended.

Avoid using this moving company. They give you lover rate in the beginning and then you end up paying double. They do not care about you or your stuff just about your money. They do not take any responsibility for the damage caused by their crew and are not going to reimburse you. Their "claims department" is a joke. All they do is sending you ridiculous email explaining why they are not going to pay you. We had damage for $1000 and they offered us $50 expecting to avoid negative review. We were very disappointed.

Dear Liudmyla,

Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to share your grievances on how our services do not meet up with your expectations.

We take all necessary measures in place to ensure all items delivered are intact and correct. Despite our best efforts, unintentional damages may happen. We highly recommend customers contacting home insurance agents prior to moving and find out their policy's coverage of “Goods in Transit”. Even though we are not an insurance company, we offer two coverage plans. You chose to go with the basic one at no extra cost and the minimum liability coverage of $0.60/lb.

We consider coverage questions to be an important one, thus add the coverage information in the booking agreement for a customer to familiarize and choose from.

We will assess your complaints to deduct measures we can adopt to prevent issues of this nature in subsequent times.

We want to use this opportunity to tell you that we are sorry for the difficulties you have encountered as a result of this problem. Our aspiration is to keep you as one of our valued customers, and we hope to serve you better in the future.

We invite you to discuss this situation in more details.

Best wishes!

Long-distance move from Ontario to Alberta

Great moving company!!

My family and I just moved from Ontario to Alberta. I researched endlessly looking for a great moving company that was not only reputable but took pride in what they do! We had such an amazing experience from beginning until the end. Warren is a top notch associate there. He was super friendly, and went out of his way to make sure that we were satisfied! They were such a transparent company. There price was a bit different, but so was the quantity of our stuff. No dispute there. Warren let me know if there was a difference in the weight what it would be by the pound if over 2000 lbs it would be .49lb plus scale fee plus the delivery fee + tax. He even offered for us to go see the truck get weighed before and after. Which was nice to know that they gave us that kind of transparency. We did not end up going because we had to much going on that day.

They gave us 5 weeks of storage which was included in the price that was quoted to us. We did end up storing our stuff for 2.5 weeks which was included. When our stuff arrived, everything was there. NOTHING WAS MISSING OR BROKEN! A plastic bin or 2 was cracked but they were already cracked when I packed our stuff. The guys who packed the truck in Ontario were very fast and friendly, and so were the guys who unloaded our stuff in Alberta. I will definitely use this company in the future 100%!

Can't wait to move again).

Maybe its because my moving was local (I moved form Etobicoke to Toronto) but my experience with Centennial Moving was exceptional. I didn’t really had time to be stressed or worried, I called them, they took care of everything, and here I am, in a brand new home, nice and cozy. Maybe I should move again, in order to make my final opinion why everything went so smooth). Thank you guys, you’re the best.

Long-distance move from Ontario to Manitoba

Cheating company.

My worst day in last 5 years. I chose Centennial moving for my move from Toronto to Winnipeg. After pickup, they informed me that shipment weight was 12100Lbs, bill around 6600$. I denied as I knew it was around 6000-8000lbs as I moved from other city last year with 6000 lbs. They tried to scare me that I have to pay $525 to re do scale and if the new weight is more than %10 difference, they will adjust the price! I asked why? I asked them to rescale simply before unloading and scaling costs just $50 but they didn’t accept. When you call and talk to any of them, they repeat their own words as if they don’t listen to you like an answering machine! They don’t care about you and present no reason but also repeat and repeat!! I accepted to pay for rescale when I would be present at scaling station as I wanted to observe rescaling. They agreed and sent the scaling address the next day and when I asked them to get driver cell phone number they refused. Next morning I was hang around for one hour but nobody showed up, then called them, somebody said “ the driver has left after scaling and now is on the way of your house.” When I asked angrily about the reason, he said it doesn’t matter you will see the result, he was very relaxed and didn’t give me any apology or reason, just repeating doesn’t matter!! When I got home the driver asked me to pay with cash! I said I’ll pay by credit card to have invoice and he said we can’t accept because we don’t have the machine to get credit card. After long phone argument with Viktor who was a very rude manager I had ever seen, they accepted to send invoice to my email immediately after paying cash. Anyway, I paid them $6800 while recording with camera to have a proof that I paid to these gangsters! After payment Victor called me and said if you want the invoice receipt, you should sign a letter on your name saying that you don’t have any complain from our company and you’ll be fine. I was devastated and told him I would call the police right now and claim you and he said very relaxed: OK, let’s do it!! I refused unloading my stuffs and after a while the driver called Victor and talked in Russian language and finally told me that they sent invoice to my email!
By the way, only dining table and two boxes of our dishes as well as glass frames of our painting were broken.
This company is a very dangerous, rude and really gangster. Please run away them. I have all documents if anybody wants to report/publishing anywhere.

Service cost: $6800

Official company response

Dear Hamid. We did the rescale as you wanted but we've made a mistake in sending one address for the scale to the driver and another address to you. That was just a simple mistake and driver already scaled the truck and brought you the scale ticket and offered to follow you to the second one after offloading, but you refused as you didn't believe it, although there was the ticket stating the date and time when it was done, and we did not charge anything additionally for the rescale as previously told.

Long-distance move from British Columbia to Nova Scotia

Lost my Things in The Process of Moving.

I moved from BC to Halifax NS and had to pay 8000 dollars
Which would have been fine only if they didn't loose my boxes.
They lost a 6 feet plastic container box full of purses and kitchen utilities things. Also, the movers brought a box of Christmas tree that was not ours which means another family lost their tree as well.
All this would have been fine only if this crappy company delt with the issue professionally. Instead all they said was: "sorry we don't know where your box is. Please wait for a call back."
The call back never came.
All their 5 star reviews are by their friends and family. Go on FB and read the real comment by people who share horror stores.

Service cost: $8000

Official company response

Before booking any customer, we provide with an estimate based on the initial information we receive from the customer in the request. Customer's request was for moving a one bedroom apartment from Prince George, BC to Halifax, NS. Industry average weight of a one bedroom apartment's items is having the weight between 1000 and 2000LBS, but of course it can be more or less as it totally depends on the exact amount of items are to be moved.
After couple of emails and confirmations and discounts on the per pound rate provided, we've sent the booking agreement for the customer to review and to get familiar with it before making final confirmations for the move and submitting a deposit. In the booking agreement, it is mentioned that:
Note: Your final charges will depend of your exact weight. Your belongings will be scaled and a receipt will be provided.
And as well we advise customers to read our FAQ section before confirming the booking.
Customer confirmed the booking agreement and submitted the deposit and all that was left is to pick up the items and complete the delivery. After our standard procedure, we scaled the items and the final weight came up much more then anticipated. It came up to 4830 LBS, therefore the final charges were adjusted according to the exact weight, so it is obvious that the price will be much more then initially quoted as the weight was almost five times more. Please note that the weight of the car was not included in the final weight and 4830 LBS was only for the items.
Before delivery, we've contacted the customer to advise our time of arrival, final charges and methods of payment. Customer had no complaints on the weight of her/his items, only about the charges, as they were assuming that will be charged only according to the initial quote and refused to pay, although the booking agreement states that all charges are to be done prior to truck arrival at the destination and only after we receive a clear payment, the items will be offloaded.
In regards to the missing boxes, unfortunately we were not able to locate them and we offered compensation to them according to the coverage included in the move at no price, of $0.60 per pound per lost or damaged item. Customer denied the offer and wanted to be reimbursed with the full value of the items included in the boxes, although we had no idea what it's inside of the boxes as we do not require this information if the boxes were packed by the customer. we offered to increase the sum of compensation and since then, we never heard back from the customer.

Lost My Stuff and Don't Seem to Care.

Absolute nightmare. I cannot stress how they do not care even remotely if you have a concern or need information of any kind (even dates, estimates, anything at all)

They lost some of my furniture and basically disregarded my follow-up because it was out of the claim range. I do not want a claim. I want to know what happened to the rest of my bed! That was the whole reason I chose to use a mover instead of getting new stuff.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1100

Moving my Parents Estate.

DON'T USE THESE GUYS . Ruined 1960's furniture that had WET BLANKETS ON THEM for 3 Weeks while the truck traveled from Ontario to Vancouver Island . Insisted on being paid cash at last moment, had to sign waiver before stuff got off of truck. Rude and unresponsive to claim. Had a investigation for 3 weeks and concluded that "MY SIMULATED AND WEAK FURNITURE" wasn't worth much an offered $100 , "WHICH IS MORE THAN WE SHOULD PAY , WE ARE BEING GENEROUS" . I refused to accept it and promised to write an honest review. I've written an extensive one in YELP . NEVER USE THESE GUYS - their professionalism is ALL TALK NO ACTION. . Insulting, anonynmous claims department to deal with.

Thank you for taking time sharing your grievances on how our services do not meet up with your expectations. We take all necessary measures in place to ensure all items delivered are intact and correct. Despite our best efforts, unintentional damages may happen. We're terribly sorry for this situation and would like to assure you that it was never our intention to have this happened. You choose to go with free basic coverage which protects the goods at $0.60 per pound per damaged article. And as advised, normally, we don't cover simulated wood furniture. On top, we waived $300 deductible applicable to all claims. We refunded based on the liability coverage and even offered more on top. We do not have subcontractors and we kindly ask you not to accuse us of this things without having pieces of evidence. In your email, you mentioned you would have someone assess the weight of those items and that would have been great. Based on that weight, we'd have compensated accordingly. We will assess your complaints to deduct measures we can adopt to prevent issues of this nature in subsequent times. We are terribly sorry for the unpleasant experience you had with us. Whilst an apology will regrettably not alter the outcome of your experience on this case, we do extend it with sincerity.
Best regards,

Probably the most exhausting and stressful few moments in life.

I'd probably give an excellent rating if it weren't for the initial loading of our belongings. But they managed to get all our stuff wrapped, packed and across the country in one piece.

I'm not happy about the transfer of our stuff from truck to truck, or the fact they showed up with a truck to small, causing them to break down all our furniture to essentially flat pack it - but, it all arrived and they were actually quite responsive.

I had a seamless experience shipping my condo (2 bedroom) with Centennial from Barrie, ON to Surrey, BC. The movers were extremely professional, telling me exactly what I needed to know to make everything as easy as possible. The sales guys were incredibly nice and responsive when it came to obtaining quotes, inventory, scheduling, etc. Their prices are fair and definitely worth the excellent service you get, and you're aware of all potential extra fees and budget accordingly. The whole experience was stress-free.

Centennial Moving.

From pickup to delivery Centennial provided a wonderful service.
Even when an Item was lost, everyone tried their best to locate it, and did, much to the relief of the family, as they were framed diplomas of considerable importance to our children.
The sales team was always polite, helpful and very informed.
The pickup drivers were extremely mindful and caring of our belongings. Everything was wrapped to prevent damage.
Our previous very negative experience with bigger moving companies made us nervous to deal with someone unknown.
However, once the move was completed, we had to admit that it was good choice and highly recommend Centennial to other nervous customers.

Excellent Service.

Not only were they inexpensive and transparent compared to other movers, but my items actually arrived a week earlier than expected. This was difficult to organize on my end but better than them arriving later or not at all. The movers on both ends (St. Catharines, Ontario) and (Vancouver, BC) were great and very helpful. Would totally recommend using Centennial. Be aware though that if you need items to arrive on a certain date they will not guarantee that and are very firm on a range of dates as opposed to a specific one.

First time excellence.

I just wanted to say thank you to the whole team. They did a fantastic job. From Max who took the booking to Trey in dispatch. they were so helpful and informative. The moving men were also so professional. I was delighted and will hire again. They knew it was my first time to hire movers, understood my concerns and totally reassured me that all would be good. They explained regards transportation and storage protocols. I only wished they had assigned me more than two workers as I felt sorry for them!! By the end they were exhausted. But true professionals.
