Long-distance move from Toronto, ON to Regina, SK

As wonderfully.

This is the best moving company I have ever experienced! I moved my 75 year old mother out of Toronto and was worried about the mountain of stuff she had accumulated. The quote including packing, materials and transport was less than I expected and well worth it. Two men came early to her home packed up everything quickly and professionally being careful to protect all fragile items. They worked straight through until the job was done never once complaining and always very polite. On the delivery side they just did everything in reverse as wonderfully as they had before and not one thing was damaged or missing. If you want a job well done these are the movers for you!

Seamless transition.

I wanted to provide positive feedback to you regarding my move from Toronto ON, to Edmonton, AB. In all, the transition was seamless. The teams were fast, efficient and extremely careful with my goods. When unpacking the boxes, I could really tell that care was taken. Even in severely inclement weather, they were able to make the delivery in a totally safe manner. Please pass on my sincerest thanks to the entire team. If I know anyone moving to/from Edmonton, I will be sure to refer them to Centennial Moving. All my very Best Regards!

Long-distance move from Peterborough, ON to Kamsack, SK

Move from ON to SK.

Very happy with my move, one-bedroom apt. and storage locker, from Peterborough ON to rural SK. Original estimate was $1800, I ended up paying $3800 due to 1. I underestimated the weight of my stuff, 2. taxes and fees, 3. change from 50c to 65c a pound, 4. weight of moving pads. So if you are on a limited budget, try to be very accurate listing items and get a full estimate including taxes and fees; make sure to allow for extra. Anyway, despite this I was VERY pleased with my move; the movers were conscientious, professional and efficient. I was told I would wait 14 days for my stuff to arrive, it actually came in one week, which was awesome. No hitches, it all worked out great. I would definitely use this company again.

Dear Gail, we certainly have a great team here in Centennial Moving, and it's always fantastic when our customers express their appreciation. We wish you all the best in your new home and hope you are settling comfortably in your new location.

A huge fan.

Watching your team operate was nothing short of extraordinary. We were hesitant to go with movers but your team executed beautifully. I have been telling everyone I encounter that they need to go with Centennial. Your team was friendly, efficient, took incredible care of our belongings and were literally RUNNING up the stairs to get back to lifting more items. It was incredible. We are huge fans & will continue to sing your praises. I have so many friends who have had horrible experiences with other companies- our move felt like a total breeze. We felt relaxed enough to start unpacking while they were finishing the job. Please let me know how else I can promote your business. Happy to be a raving fan on your behalf!

Dear Emily, we are grateful for your positive review and your highest rating that you gave to us! Our team is happy to know that all your furniture and things arrived safely at the final destination. We hope to hear from you again and thank for your amazing feedback!

2 bedroom.

This is the 2nd time I've used Centennial for a move and they do an incredibly professional job every single time. They are fast, safe and take great care of my furniture & belongings. They are great at packing small delicate items and also move heavy furniture with ease. Came with a crew of 3 men. I can't begin to explain how easy they made it for me. I was so stressed & they had everything under control. They came on time, worked swiftly, had a great attitude and helped me problem solve. I can't thank them enough for their work and professionalism. I trust them with my stuff and will absolutely hire them again! Thank you!

No hurdles.

Not my first cross country move but it was the first time I've had a move occur without problems. With moving there is always something that gets throw into the mix I feel. A fee that you didn't calculate or that wasn't mentioned. A change in starting or ending times. It's almost always been a hurdle to deal with most of the movers I've dealt with in the past. Judging by my experience I could have had enough with the moving experience. The move from Regina was organized to a tee. The drivers/movers had it all mapped out. I was told they would arrive nine days later in the late afternoon but they actually came in the morning on the scheduled move in. They gave a notice the night before so I would be available. I wish more moving companies were easy to deal with like these guys.

Long-distance move from Milton, ON to Vancouver, BC

Very Unprofessional and Scammy.

Hired them to move my stuff in a self-storage from Ontario to Vancouver. They took advantage of the fact that I could not remember everything I had in my self-storage (Could not be there physically due to COVID-19) and either stole or neglected to pick up my very expensive framed art and few other stuff that was worth over 2 grand. According to a worker at the self-storage, the movers were extremely unprofessional and rude, yelling at the people who worked there and when I contacted them, they couldn't be bothered to provide quality customer service. Overall, I recommend you hire another moving company.. this one operates in a fishy and unprofessional manner.

Move size: Studio Service cost: $780

Official company response

Dear Diana, thank you for taking time and sharing your feedback. As we have already advised you, we picked up and delivered everything you have instructed us to. We have called and double-checked at the very day of loading. Accusing us of theft is unacceptable and can be subject to legal action. It is the customers' responsibility to provide the company with the moving list to be loaded if you can't be present and show the movers directly at the pickup place. We informed you that we don't provide disposal services, however, you didn't inform the storage employees about this and they blocked our truck until we clear the storage unit and dispose of the items that you didn't want us to move. We have been doing moving on a daily basis since 1995 and our movers are known as friendly and courteous. You can't blame the company on negligence when we followed all the instructions provided. We would like to extend our most sincere apologies that your move with us was less than perfect.

Long-distance move from Ottawa, ON to Victoria, BC

Shockingly Poor Moving Company.

First of all, I don’t like writing bad reviews, but people need to know about our experience.

We moved from Ottawa to BC. We hired this company based in part, on positive reviews that I read online. Unfortunately our experience was far from good.

Positives: The sales agent, Xavier, was very responsive. The dispatch team were also professional.

While packing our belongings I placed labels with my contact info on every item.

The truck arrived on time and the crew loaded everything quickly.

Then things went south:

Our items were placed in storage for a few weeks. When the delivery trucks unloaded in BC, I noted several items missing. No problem I thought, since everything was properly labeled, our belongings would be easily located and forwarded.

I contacted Kian in the claims dept and provided him with a partial list (approx 20 ) of missing items. We were still in the process of unpacking and we didn’t know exactly what was missing. I included photographs of items that were too large to pack in boxes. Since everything was labeled with my contact info, I expected a quick search of the warehouse would locate all of these items.

Kian advised me they did not locate any items in their warehouse. Therefore, the items were never loaded on the truck. In essence, he was calling me a liar. He refused to consider the possibility that these items could be lost due to employee error. “We’ve been in business for many years. We don’t make mistakes.”

When I asked to speak to his supervisor, his response was, “That’s not going to happen.”

We lost over $20,000 in personal belonging. We received some compensation through our insurance, however many items had sentimental value and could not be replaced.

Again, $20,000 worth of electronics, tools, furniture, clothing, all packed and clearly labeled, simply disappeared.

I moved numerous times in my life and I have never experienced anything like this. This company accepts zero responsibility for their extremely poor service.

I’m sure there are more reputable companies out there.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $8000

Official company response

Dear Dave, thank you so much for sharing the details of your move with us. We do apologize in case if were wrong in something, please accept our sincere apologies. After checking your request and move, we noticed that your items were in the garage over the year prior pick up was done. Our drivers who signed the contract with you on pick up and delivery told us that both times you didn't go over the list of items with them to check if all of your goods were taken and delivered or not. As well you first mentioned that you're missing several items even prior unpacking 90% of your items. There's a possibility that these items are lost, but not with us, they might have been left in that garage or somewhere else. You couldn't supply us with the tag numbers of the missing items in the contract as they weren't there, means never taken by us. "We've been in business for many years. We don't make mistakes." - this is a bit exaggerated expression you used. Kian meant to say doing inventory is the most important part of moving as we are responsible for items loaded and delivered. It is not possible that any of our foremen missed 20 items to tag/label and indicate in the contract. This is why before signing the contact we ask every customer to make sure everything is loaded and nothing stays behind. Nobody was calling you a liar, Dave. When you asked for the supervisor, you weren't told "That's not going to happen". Kian said he was the primary person in Claims Department to handle cases like yours. Nevertheless we will still continue search from our side in case if we might find something. As well the Claims Department is already working on this case with you to resolve everything and find the possible location of the items. Please contact us back anytime you need any help with anything! We're always here to help our customers!

This place Is it.

My husband is very hard to please and he was so overwhelmed by the service with Centennial Moving that I had to write a review. We have had our fair share of moving companies. Since 2015 we have moved ourselves and our parents four times. With our downsizing we needed a storage place and my husband assumed that Centennial would be typical. Not so. If you're looking for a trustworthy, professional, hard-working, friendly team that will keep your items safe while free storage rates then look no further. This place is it.

Rogue Movers.

The Canadian Association of Movers gives a consumer alert on their website regarding moving fraud and scams (https://www.mover.net/planning-a-move/consumer-alerts). This fits my experience with Centennial moving 100%.

This company is 100% not legit and they know it. The addresses listed on their website are fake. They pretend to be out of Moncton with their address and phone number. I had family go to their location to check and there is no such business at their claimed location. When you confront them about this they will tell you that they moved to Ontario but good luck getting a real address out of them.

Take their quote and throw it out the window. It will double at their first chance to "weigh" you items. I weighed everything I had up front. I knew that I had approximately 800 lbs of goods. They told me that there was over 1600 lbs of my items on their truck.

Long story short, I told them to return everything so I could go with a mover that has recommendations from friends and family. My down payment is lost but I am happy to have my items back as I am sure that they would have kept trying to up my fees as they moved my items across Canada.

Please please please do not pay attention to the positive reviews. Almost all of them are totally fake. Read the absolute horror story reviews and consider if this is a mover you want to use.

TOTALLY DISHONEST COMPANY. THIS IS A SCAM!!

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: $7000

Official company response

Dear Blair, Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to share your grievances on how our services do not meet up with your expectations. We have never been in consumer alert with CAM since 1995. The address on the website is our billing address. Yes, we operate from Toronto as we have more possibilities to cover the whole country from Center rather than East. We have facilities in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver. Everyone can google our company for addresses of our facilities depending on their location and visit if needed.

We informed you the way we determine the weight - by scaling the truck on full platform truck scale - before and after loading. We provide scale tickets. As well, we offered you the option to do the rescale in front of you to prove the weight. Unfortunately, you refused that option and asked to return the items back to you that we did and refunded you the difference for local move.

In the moving industry, it will be nearly impossible with the amount of moves we do per month to have no complaints. We can't satisfy every customers' requests but the reputation we gained is a result of hard work of every employee in the company throughout decades being in this business.

We would like to apologize we couldn't meet your expectations. Whilst an apology will regrettably not alter the outcome of your experience on this case, we do extend it with sincerity.

Extremely Misleading

Toronto to Surrey move would have cost $1510 for 1 bedroom apartment, but the office manager Warren gave me $100 off and an apology for Xavier the sales rep misleading me and blaming the additional weeks of delay on me. I also received an additional $72 off for paying cash and agreeing to no receipt.

When my property finally arrived after 5 weeks from date of pickup, a large mirror was broken, a box is missing, items that were sealed for security purposes had been opened and they put a desk drawer into a dresser drawer and I had to break down the desk drawer while it was stuck inside the dresser drawer to get it out..

I do not recommend Centennial unless you do not care about your belongings or the time at which they arrive.

Unpleasant experience

Very unpleasant long-distance move from Toronto to Vancouver this summer. 0 stars. Please read before choosing this company.

Pick-up was smooth but delivery was a disaster!

- gave little delivery notice (on a long weekend) and the alternative to charge extra for storage and redelivery fees

- first delivery: 15 of 25 items missing, mover Costa did not offer any explanation and wanted me to sign the receipt

- after multiple phone conversations and emails, located 14 items in their warehouse and 1 item delivered to another customer on the same date, scheduled for redelivery on a sunday

- company replied that Costa was the only staff handling jobs in Vancouver; logically, he was likely responsible for delivery errors

- second delivery: unexpected knock on my door one day ahead (saturday) without confirmation by Costa again; company's response was Costa explained to Dispatch who was 'too busy' on a weekend to confirm with the customer so they came anyway

- Costa did not offer any explanation or apologies for the error, dropped 15 items OUTSIDE of my home on a wet ground, refused to discuss and drove away in the middle of a conversation

- Rex and Kian from customer service/claims offered blanket statement replies that it was bad luck and errors happen - even if it was 60% of items missing

- used pandemic and employee stress as an excuse

- no response after escalating to senior management Warren and Yurii

- no compensation for errors and customer inconvenience

- many boxes and items were in poor condition, a reflection of lack of care during the move

- poor communication: long holds on phone that leads to full voicemails (cannot leave message), slow response to email

In my opinion, centennial moving is an extremely unprofessional company that tolerates multiple employee errors and misbehaviours with no accountability. Recommend avoiding at all costs or risk being treated like this.

Broken Shelf and drawer without any payment

We have moved from Calgary, AB to Vancouver, BC. First of all, they put us on a vague time-frame. We needed to book an elevator and we were stressed out because they said, we will be there anytime this day.

Apart from poor scheduling, they delivered our stuff broken, especially our shelf and drawer (worth 200$) were completely out of order due to their poor wrapping job. They never accept the responsibility and told us we will give you 60$ but you need to promise that you don't mention it in reviews!!!!!

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3200

Official company response

Dear Hoda, We are terribly sorry for the unpleasant experience you had with us. Whilst an apology will regrettably not alter the outcome of your experience on this case, we do extend it with sincerity. We always give a time frame for pick up in 2 days in advance, so you could book the elevator exactly for the time frame given, we're sorry if something was not clear in the confirmation e-mail. We always handle each item with great care and wrap it and put it on the truck the way it won't get damaged. Some items are made from particle wood, for example like IKEA and these type of items might break or crack even with slightest change in temperature or atmospheric pressure while truck is on the move and it constantly changes. We're really sorry for what happened and offered you a compensation based on your coverage plan with us. Your plan compensates for the weight of items, not their value and we offered you all 3 plans prior Booking Agreement, this information was always open and disclosed 2-3 times prior the booking, with direct links to the website. We increased the compensation despite your claimed items didn't even reach the deductible amount of 300$ which we have on each coverage plan and hoped to close the case on a friendly manner, not because we didn't want to take responsibility. In case of any questions, please contact our Claims Department for further actions.

Dishonest weighing

I used them to move my stuff from AB to QC. After picking up my stuff they claimed they went to a scale and my stuff weighs 3200 lb. They didn't know that I weighed my stuff myself and they are 2400 lb. When I asked them about the ticket scale they alleged that the scaling facility doesn't provide tickets due to COVID-19 situation. I called the facility myself and it turns out this a straight lie.

After many rounds of negotiations, they offered to scale my stuff in front me but on condition that they will charge me more if the second scale within 10% of their value. When we re-weighed the stuff it turns out exactly as I expected (to put in $ value, they were about to charge me $800 more than they should).

They didn't apologize or even provide any reasonable explanation of how their weight was 800lb more than the actual value.

Save yourself the hassle, and look for an honest company.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2800

Official company response

Dear Mostafa, we are terribly sorry for the unpleasant experience you had with us. Whilst an apology will regrettably not alter the outcome of your experience on this case, we do extend it with sincerity. We are always using MTO scaling facilities and since the outbreak of pandemic started, they don't allow us inside of the facility, their staff weight the truck and the results are showed on the screen of the scale, that's why we provide them with our letterhead where they imprint the results and pass back to our driver. And that letterhead we scan and send to you when the scaling ticket is requested. We always advise the rescale option in case if don't agree and in case if they weight is more or less than 10% of our value, we always adjust the final payment based on it, without keeping your extra payment. We're sorry for any inconvenience that might caused you, but you paid for the correct amount and the items were delivered in a good shape and on time.

Poor customer service at the beginning. Right at sales coordiy

I was looking for a moving service from SK to BC. I was quoted by one of the so-called senior sales coordinator. Easy Experience

I moved interstate from Peterborough to Toronto with Centennial movers. I had heard so many horror stories from friends of all their worldly possessions going missing on the journey from province to province. It was a good decision. The movers arrived on the day with a truck with all necessary equipment, which made me feel very secure. The staff were all in uniform and were professional from start to finish. Exactly the same thing happened at my new home in Toronto and all my things were unwrapped and put in position in my new home which was on a very hilly driveway with a lot of stairs. Not a single murmur from the men and about the stairs. They all had smiles on their faces for the whole day. It was a very easy experience and I am a very happy customer!

The backbone

I could start with long stories of our experiences moving cross country, but I'd rather tell you how great it was dealing with Centennial moving. They showed up to pack on time, they were courteous, respectful and nice. Xavier and his team did a wonderful job. We ran into problems getting our house settled in the time we were supposed to, They worked with us every step of the way; even though I had to change the moving location back and forth several times. I will tell you, that this is the advantage of working with a smaller company as opposed to the big national companies, they would have probably told us "too bad." Though we had a couple of tiny miscommunications along the way, Centennial should be your choice for any kind of move. Alex and his team out here in Vancouver got the job done quickly and efficiently. This company gave us a WAY more affordable option than the big carriers and were much more understanding about issues that crop up along the way of a very stressful time. So, please, do yourself a favor, and if you have to move anywhere in the country, give them a call. You won't regret it, I know we didn't. If I could give them ten stars, I would. Thank you all for making the best of whatever we threw at them. Small businesses are the backbone of Canada.

Full recommendation

I’ve used Centennial Moving twice in the past year, and even recommended them to a friend, and each time the service, professionalism and attention to doing a job well done has been outstanding. Most recently, I moved from Vancouver to Toronto, and the teams that helped me were great. Everything was moved efficiently and effectively, and the process has been stress-free (which, given moving in a pandemic across the country, is saying a lot). Centennial Moving has been incredible, if you’re looking for movers, their team gets my full recommendation.

Last Minute Cancellation

Make sure to have a back-up plan, if you are thinking of using Centennial Moving to move you. Really shoddy business practice and very unprofessional. Have a back-up plan! These guys may dump you.

Whilst an apology will regrettably not alter the outcome of your experience on this case, we do extend it with sincerity. Indeed we had an emergency with the driver and had to work out something right away, the option we've offered you was the earliest available at the moment. Due to the COVID-19 we have a big shortage of staff and we don't want to endanger any of the customers or staff members even with most insignificant symptoms of being sick. It was a force majeure situation and we hope that you will understand it. We're sorry for this, we're always doing all the best for our customers, and didn't want to set you up in any way.

Forever grateful

Centennial helped us with our move this past week. I was stressing out due to how large our furniture was and our 9ft sofa would only fit down 3 flights of stairs. Their crew reassured me that they are professionals and can handle anything that comes their way. Fast forward to moving days, the movers were complete gentlemen and went the extra mile to wrap all of our white linen furniture up multiple times for extra safety. They wrapped the fine art just like professional art handlers would. I was blown away. They spent a total of 10 days moving us to our new home and everything was in perfect condition upon arrival. I will always use Centennial in the future and will recommend them to everyone!! Thank you guys so much for the white glove service at an affordable cost. Forever grateful.

Thank goodness

Centennial moving was INCREDIBLE! My wife and I moved From Toronto to Yorkton SK, we got several quotes and my personal moving coordinator, went the extra mile! He was spot on with my estimate, he made sure there weren't any surprises, gave me enough information so I wouldn't be charged more on my estimate, even gave me a call after my move to make sure everything went smoothly. I gotta say I have never received this type of customer service in the moving scene ever! They made sure to handle any and all issues for me and were the liaison between me and the driver. In the past, I used a company that the drivers were rude, foul mouthed, uncaring about my items, the other companies didn't care as long as they got paid, but Centennial Moving made sure I didn't have to deal with anyone else. Thank goodness I used them, my move was so much less than the huge companies quoted, and much more personable TRUST ME there are a lot of bad movers out there, we have had to move quite a few times because of work. We appreciate everything!

Move from Vancouver, BC to Hamilton, ON

Had the best experience with Centennial. I was very nervous because of how many bad reviews there are for moving companies but my move couldn't have went any better. John was so accommodating when I didn't have a final location and they extended storage for me until I had secured an apartment in Hamilton. From the beginning they were always in touch with me, gave me a reasonable quote and there weren't any surprise costs in the end. My stuff arrived all in one piece, the guys moved it all in so quickly, and were so friendly! I would definitely use them again!

Movers

The experience moving with Centennial was great. Few movers would accord you such a transfer and relocation devoid of stresses. With their amazing skills, I did not have to worry about anything. The team of three movers came on time, with their moving truck and moving equipment. They checked the furniture that I wanted them to move and immediately embarked on the disassembling and packing. They had awesome tools that made the disassembling so stress-free, they wrapped and packed everything very professionally and proceeded to load them. They are very fast and careful, and when they brought the furniture a couple of weeks later, they unpacked and reassembled them. None was scratched. I love these guys, and I’m recommending them.
