Long-distance move from Ontario to Alberta

Long distance move to Alberta

IMove helped us relocate from Mississauga to Edmonton this fall. We used their portable crate service, delivered to our house. Each crate came packed with blankets and shrink wrap which helped us secure our valuables. We were provided with an upfront cost per crate and not per pound like most other long distance movers. This helped us budget our relocation better. Overall we are very happy with services rendered.

Long-distance move from Ontario to Alberta

Moving from Ontario to Edmonton.

Service was very poor we had made arrangements for furniture & car to be shipped. The day of move owner came took a look said he would be back but never came back. Owner refused to take our calls or even return them.
He took money upfront to ship car, but never shipped it. Police were called and now we have to go to small claims court to recooperate money. We had to pay to get car towed away since owner never returned key not money.

Service cost: $1260

Office Move From Mississauga to Etobicoke.

IMove helped move our office from Eglinton and East Mall in Mississauga to Islington and Dundas in Etobicoke. We had only 3 offices, mostly glass desks, some file cabinets and a bunch of boxes. Unfortunately both locations were stairs only and we were moving from 3rd floor to 2nd floor walkup so that a real hassle. The moving crew handled it well and managed to get the job done in our allocated after-hours window. We had a 4 man crew present and I am happy we chose that option over 3 men which was suggested by other companies. All in all it was a pleasant experience considering I can't stand moving. The guys did their job as promised and that is all that matters.

Very satisfied.

I moved out of my loft apartment in Liberty Village over the long weekend (Monday) after my original movers bailed out last minute. I went past my service elevator time so iMove's crew had to hustle for the remaining elevator with my neighbours (sorry about that!). Mark and Kevin were fantastic throughout the move. They handled my furniture with care, wrapping all the delicate pieces and helping me box my music equipment.  Access at the new building was terrible and the movers had to haul my furniture at least a 100ft to get to the service elevator (something I will consider when choosing my next apartment). I did make it to my new place and tipped my moving crew for a job well done! Thanks again.

Liberty Village Loft.

Just wanted to leave my feedback about the move iMove completed for me this past long weekend. I have moved 3 times in the past 2 years and this was by far the smoothest move so far. My movers arrived on time, wrapped up all my furniture and moved it without a single scratch..and most importantly, my vinyl collection got to the new place! I am a happy camper and have already referred iMove Canada to my friends. Cheers, Art.

Move is the worst moving company!

Worst movers ever!
7 hours late to the job! The drunk driver even!
Etobicoke-Orangeville move.
I've moved every year for the past 20 years and never had an experience like this!
There were supposed to arrive at 9 am. They didn't get there till 3:30 pm. They called a few times saying be there in 30 mins.
When they arrived they stank like booze really bad. When we started moving, I was doing a lot of the work moving heavy stuff to the elevator by myself and emptying elevators by myself while holding the open button, while they were taking there time taking little things to the elevator. When a 20-year-old woman that's 6 months postpartum via section is doing more movie of stuff then they were. That's a problem!
The movers couldn't fit everything in the truck like they said they could and we had to throw our whole living room set out. They broke our kitchen glasses and our DVD bookcase. They also lost both of our coolers worth $300 of food out by the garbage and forgot to put it on the truck. When we got to Orangeville we waiting over 45mins for them to get there with the truck. They took one of the longest ways and picked up beer and charged us for the travel time. When they were unloading the truck they were dropping stuff everywhere. When they packed the storage locker they just tossed our stuff anywhere. There was random spaces throughout the locker that could have been filled. The company said we would get a discount because of everything that happened.
When it came time to pay, the manager that I had talked to about the discount before wouldn't pick up his phone. By this time it's 11 pm because they started the move late. We ended up paying $600 and wasn't happy about it. As soon as the truck left the manager called asking how much I paid and I told him, and I said what was the discount and he said well they didn't charge you taxes, so you paid the right amount. What kind of discount is that after all the sh*t we had to deal with. The manager also said that he'd call me the next day to send me an email about what happened with the truck. Never happened. The next day after the move I kept trying to call them to talk to them about what happened. They called me from a few different numbers and I called every one of them all day long and they wouldn't call me back. My fiance calls, with another number, they call him right back. They were dodging my calls. The guy on the phone then tells my fiance to call this other number and that one just went to voice mailbox that was full. We tried called the guy back again and wouldn't answer or call us back. We kept calling all day and they just ignored us. I have never had this bad of movers before and I will never get movers again because of them.

Movers.

The move started of fine and then went from bad to worse.
They spent twenty minutes looking over what we had to move which to me, was a waste of time. then they proceeded to shrink wrap all our items which was another waste of time. they took their time loading our items into the truck. That alone took three hours.
In between they took two twenty minute smoke breaks.
After that we went to our new apartment. They proceeded to unload our items.
Here comes the difficult part. They asked for payment.
Andrew quoted me $395.50 for four hours. He did not say anything about an hourly rate after four hours.
This quote led me to believe that would be the total amount to pay and that the whole move would take four hours. These guys dragged it out and the whole move which should have taken four hours took seven.
We handed them $400.00 in cash. They showed us a bill with added charges for gas, mileage and a service fee.
Andrew failed to mention this. When we said we had no more money the one man started arguing and threatened to call the police and said for me to talk to his boss. I could not get a hold of Andrew and spoke with someone else who said he would talk to his driver. The driver stood there yelling at us and arguing and said that he would dump all our remaining furniture on the lawn. Which he started to do. They almost drove away with our bed and new television. Do Not book these people for your move. they are crooks and only want your money. Not a reputable company at all. Not professional in the least. .

1 bedroom condo.

Imove helped move my 1 bedroom condo from City place to Beaches area in Toronto. Mark and his crew were on time, packed everything carefully and made sure that my furniture arrived without damage. The truck was big enough to fit everything in one load, the crew had all the proper tools to assist with my Ikea wardrobe disassembly and wardrobe boxes for my clothing. A service!

Tasteless - where are the ethics?

I had booked a move with imovecanada (Andy) at 416-888-2596 for a move from Paris Ontario to Toronto Ontario for May 30th.  As the delivery location is in an apartment building, times needed to be coordinated with the building to reserve the elevator.  So I drove to Paris from Toronto to disassemble some furniture in preparation for the move and the 10am pick-up.  My parents, gracious as they are, offered to wait for the movers so I can return to Toronto. By 11:30, the company still had not appeared for the move and I began calling them to find out where they are.  The repeated message was "the voicemail is full" so I couln't leave a message for the first few hours of calling.  After calling Head Office and trying every phone option, all I could do was leave a voicemail wherever possible, but to no avail. This is unacceptable conduct.  As the house is listed for sale, I have prospects coming to see the home and now they will see disassembled furniture.  This is incredibly disrespectful behaviour by any company.  In my case "imovecanada", translates into "i-move-nothing-canada").  I strongly encourage you to consider this if you are planning a move.

Never ever hire imove canada.

I transfered the money to there account on Sunday 29th June from that day they don't reply my email, they don't pick up my phone, I called them millions time. I don't know what's going on, if I get my stuff back or not. I been to police station yesterday they called the imove and leave the voice mail.  I don't know what should I do to get my stuff back, I am currently unemployed and I don't have that much money to buy the stuffs. .
