Best Interstate Moving and Storage

This company is a scam organization and should be avoided at all costs! We have moved 9 times on long haul moves and once it was to Germany and back and we have never experienced this type of incompetency. Mitch, the original point of contact kept harping on Interstate being one of the top movers on the Forbes list. We made the huge mistake of using them and it was a disaster. They are a broker and not a moving company. They contract out to a local moving company. In previous moves, a rep from the company always came to our home and did a thorough inventory and took photos of our personal goods to be shipped. Interstate says they do everything over the phone. We talked with Mitch and went over our inventory list and he quoted a price of $9300 for the move. He said that between 4-7 days before the move date that someone would call and go over the inventory list again to verify how much was to be moved. Within a week, the estimate increased to over $11,000...and we actually sold some items that were not going to be moved. The morning of the move, they said the truck would be arriving between 9:00-11:00AM. It didn't arrive until 11:30AM and it was dispatched from the Austin, Texas area which is over 3 hours away. When we researched the company they chose, Panthers Moving & Storage, we saw they had horrific ratings and Yelp said they were under investigation! We live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area! They couldn't find a more local moving company? They had to use a company locate over 3 hours away? As soon as the driver entered our home, he did a quick walk through of our home and it became clear by his actions and attitude that he didn't bring the right equipment to fit all of our household goods! I kept asking if he was sure he could fit all of our stuff on this 26' Budget rental truck and he never confirmed that he could. There were calls to Interstate and Panthers for the next few hours trying to find out what they were going to do and they basically lied and would not accept accountability! The cost of the move now became $13,500! The cost increased by over $4000 in one week! The Compliance manager actually told me and my wife that it was our fault and our responsibility to decide what goes on the truck and what doesn't!!! 8 hours later, I was asked to come out to the garage and was told that they could not load anymore items on the truck. I looked around and there were numerous items that could not be loaded and we would have to leave them! These were not small items. We had to leave a 6'x4' work bench, a 9' ladder and a 20' extension ladder. Two tables from the back porch, a 6' metal locker that held power tools and misc building supplies, a leaf blower, tool box and a few other items. Really! How would you feel if the moving company you trusted didn't bring the right equipment and you simply were expected to leave your personal items behind and there was NOTHING we could do!!! My wife literally stood in the garage and cried! When we were signing paperwork and the truck was ready to depart, my wife walked through the kitchen and started pulling out drawers to see if anything was left and there were whole drawers of kitchen utensils, knives, forks and other items that were overlooked! we had to dump them in a garbage bag and stick them in our car. Neither Interstate not Panthers took any responsibility for this fiasco. The Compliance Manager, who blamed the entire episode on us said she would elevate this situation and get back with us and three weeks later, there has been NOTHING done. Interstate is a rip off company that cheats you out of your money. Moving is one of the most difficult, stressful and vulnerable times in your life and they are simply predators that screw you and then brag that they are on the Forbes list of the best companies! Stay away from them and do your homework.

Started off a little shakey but with Sheena’ s help she walked me threw the anxiety of the move.
The team that delivered my furniture was awesome.
Had everything to me in 2 days from Westchester, NY to Indianapolis.
The estatimate was a couple hundred dollars more than the estimated but everything was explained to me when the movers arrived and I was more than satisfied with how the move worked out.
I would highly recommend them for any move.

Best Interstate saved me from a horrible cross country move. I called 6 months before our move and was given amazing customer service and info. I didn’t book at that time because of other issues. 5 months later our move was falling apart and I called them back. They pulled together a packing and loading crew for 2 separate locations and a truck to move it all on one of the busiest moving weekends of the year! They were available to answer questions as needed, and the crew they used on both sides of the country were professional and awesome to work with.

Initial contact with Best Interstate representative Solomon Williams was great. He made me feel comfortable with the entire process. I didn't know how to rent a car on line and he walked me through that all the way to the booking. He was kind and caring, completely different from the other people I was speaking with who were trying to rush me. He spent overly an hour answering my questions before we spoke about any pricing because he knew I was skeptical. Very good guy. I would recommend him and Best Interstate to anyone who is nervous about moving, great service!

Well.. Solomon Williams was speaking with me on the telephone for more than three hours!! We began planning an interstate move today. We will be moving to Orlando, Florida. Solomon was courteous and patient and thorough in his explanation of BIM services. He answered every question in detail, and he assured me that BIM is one of the best movers even though the company is only in business less than one year. Very happy about a discount of $600 due to a cancellation from another mover. Solomon also discussed the special discounts available to me for TV and internet and home security. The quote is already $800 less than another company that we were considering. The quote was done by telephone with no long forms to complete. Solomon patiently entered all of the inventory for us. In addition, we were guaranteed that the quote will be the maximum cost to us. BIM will also provide special packaging for some of out delicate furniture-- marble tables, mirrored china closet. We are confident that Best Interstate Moving will provide us with the best moving experience. I paid the initial reservation deposit which is 100% refundable up until five days before moving date, and I am looking forward to Solomon's telephone call later today when he will be discussing the moving services of BIM with my husband who has the final decision. Now lets get packing!

The customer service that I received from best interstate by far the most comfortable experience.

The gentleman I spoke to his name Solomon Williams and he was extremely patient, caring and understood I was nervous about moving being that everything is either an antique, expensive or very heavy. He even recommended I get a in-home estimate, from another company by the way, in order to confirm his confidence and accuracy in his estimate company. My impression of visualize negative I was quickly corrected once I receive the in-home estimate realize that Solomon was spot on. It was very impressive and I honestly felt more comfortable using Solomon being that we already built rapport.

When I was ready to move forward my husband made a choice to buy new furniture for a second home keep our first song so that is the reason why we did not go forward but I may still be using the service for moving my sons bedroom to Atlanta Georgia.

I don't do reviews but I felt compelled to because Solomon deserved it and customers looking for an honest and genuine person to help them deserve speaking to Someone like this. By the way, even when he wasn't available to talk to me he had me speak to a gentleman by the name of Travis who was also very kind.

From the moment I spoke with a rep and estimator I was more at ease. The staff are very knowledgeable, patient and know their company which put me far more at ease than other companies I spoke with. Everybody was friendly and were able to answer all of the little questions and were very patient as we accurately processed my inventory. While this process can be so stressful this company eased my concerns a great deal. I also love the upfront nature of their quoting process and billing process and the fairness with which their charge their clients. Here's hoping the moving process goes as smoothly. If the process to this point is any indication there is nothing to worry about.

I was in need of a quick move from TN to GA. Because moving is such a hassle, I procrastinated a little on making the call for movers. Best Interstate Moving had been consistent on reaching out to me. Solomon Williams, my customer service agent, basically took my hassle out of my hands. By the end of our call, I felt like I have nothing to worry about. Best Interstate Moving has it under control and I feel I am in good hands. Solomon was very informative, answered all of my questions, and gave me an overall peace about something I totally dread. He was friendly but professional and a pleasure to work with!!

Travis Newton was extremely knowledgeable, professional and and helpful during my move. I recently moved from Texas to Colorado and everything went smooth and the process surpassed my expectations. From my first conversation with Travis, he was honest and informative and painted a picture of what I could expect. He sent over a quote very quickly and got the process going. My movers showed up on the day and time specified and when my belongings arrived in Colorado, the movers were kind, efficient and everything was accounted for with no damage. I am very thankful for Travis and the team at Best Interstate as this was my first move and the process couldn't have gone better!

Jason, at Best Interstate , did a very good job throughout our move from TN to WA. The carrier, Star USA in Georgia, was a different story. This carrier was not very ethical and was trying to extract more money from us at every turn, from loading the truck to the unloading of our goods when it got to its final destination. Jason stuck by us the whole way and did his best to get the carrier to adhere to the terms of our agreement. In the end we had to pay the carrier an extra $400 to deliver our items. Best Interstate agreed to reimburse us that money. I hope that the broker never uses this carrier again because they are thieves. Not sure the vetting process used regarding carriers but I would avoid using Star USA ever again.

Moving processes can be extremely overwhelming. Besides preparing to move, You havr to juggle with time between work and school, children, and much more. None of my friends were available to help that weekend, so I decided to hire a movin company. Hiring someone seems to be easier and more efficient due to the times that we live in.

I decided to try Trans United. I was in a hurry so I called them right away to get started. Scheduling was effortless and easy They put me at ease with their great customer service. assured me that the move would go smoothly and they would take care of my things as if it belong to them personally. As a student and parent, I was mostly considered that their quote would be pricey. To my surprise, it wasn't.

On moving day, They were very professional and organized. I definitely felt at ease with their help and I was glad everything was moved in a matter of two hours. The movers left My place spotless and got everything done in a timely manner. I couldn't be more happier with the service received. I would recommend to anyone.

My wife and I used BIMS to help us with our move from Texas to Washington state. The staff at BIMS were very friendly and guided us through the process and helped us secure an amazing rate on the pound. I couldn't be happier with the results as our belongings arrived extremely quickly and nothing was broken or missing. Our items were moved from Texas and delivered to Washington within 3 days! The sub-contractors they used wrapped all of our furniture with care and were incredibly fast which saved a ton of our time on moving day. They were even able to disassemble and reassemble a king-size bed frame perfectly. I highly recommends BIMS for any cross-country move.

My husband and I moved from Georgia to Florida in October of 2017. We worked with Sheana. She was wonderful. Easy to speak with and was very nice. Sheana was not the problem. It was dealing with Claudia. She was demanding, rude and not very easy to work with. She was very quick to tell us cash only and it needed to be paid before anything would happen. She told my husband he had to pay the delivery men before they unloaded our belonging. That was not happening. She also canceled our delivery dates twice. We had to pay extra storage. Many items were broken and we never received an itemized list when they delivered our belongings to our new residence. They could not even write a receipt for the balance of what a owed. So my husband had them sign a sheet of paper saying the amount was paid in full. However, Sheana picked up the ball and helped us out. Thank goodness for her. Sheana gets 5 stars - Claudia and her group receives 2 stars. The two stars are a gift.

We used BIMS for our 800 mile move. It started off great, booking and the pickup of our belongings was seamless. It took us longer than expected to receive our stuff once we moved in, our belongings stayed in storage. We were in contact with BIMS several times, the Customer Service Representatives were very pleasant but limited in their ability to help. There was a breakdown in communication with the carrier. Finally, when we got in touch with Jaclyn, she was able to help get our belongings to us. Thanks to her, and using a broker, we didn’t have to rely on the carriers insurance policy. In the end a bumpy situation was made right by BIMS.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3000

This was my first out of state move, in fact first time using actual movers. I usually just had friends, family and a rental truck. After receiving several quotes and being thoroughly disgusted in prices, I was contacted by Best Interstate Moving & Storage. Alison Guyette, spent over an hour explaining the whole process and helping me to best estimate the weight and amount of my items. The sub-contractors were very good.
They packed/transported/unpacked my items with care. They were able to meet our extra request of delivering some items to our apartment and the rest to the storage units. However, the lack of communication from them in the beginning was a bit disappointing. I also thought that I had paid for the moving blankets/plastic wrap for my furniture, but I found out that I basically only rented those items. As when my items were delivered to the storage units they were unwrapped before being placed in the units.
Overall, I found Best Interstate Moving & Storage to be a very helpful, truthful and caring company. I also appreciate that they take the time to hire sub-contractors that meet their same standards.

I did not have a great experience with Best Interstate. I did a lot of research before picking a company to manage my move from Oregon to New York. Best Interstate had the best reviews, hands down. I have been overall quite disappointed though. This is a broker that contracts another company to move your belongings. Best Interstate contracted with United Transportation Moving and Storage for my move. The movers were 3 days late for pickup and 32 days late for delivery. I do feel that the majority of the blame for the extreme delay is on United, but I will comment upon Best Interstate's service in this review. The reason I gave them 2 stars is for the fact that they would contract with an extremely sub-par company to do the actual move, in addition to the lack of communication and poor customer service provided by Best Interstate.

When I booked my move with Best Interstate, I was assured that the movers could make an on-time delivery if I scheduled the pickup early enough. So the movers were scheduled to pick up my belongings nearly a month before delivery. After having been promised a pickup date of December 19, the movers finally showed up on December 22. My initial date for delivery was January 15, and my belongings finally showed up on February 15. I called Best Interstate about once a week from the time of pickup to the time of delivery. Nearly every time, I was assured that someone would follow up with me. It was apparent that Best Interstate was not doing anything to coordinate my move with United. Every time I called, the representative would call United, and tell me that the delivery date had been pushed back. My delivery date was pushed back countless times. It did not feel like Best Interstate was doing anything at all to coordinate the move or advocate for their customer. They were simply relaying information, and doing a very poor job of it.

It took extreme amounts of frustration on my part to get someone at Best Interstate to actually keep me updated and proactively manage my move. The purpose of a broker is to coordinate the move to make it go smoothly, and to advocate for their customer. You, as the customer, pay a fee for this service. Best Interstate did not deliver on this promise and did not warrant that fee.

Once I began writing negative, albeit truthful, reviews, I finally began getting better customer service. It is a shame that I had to resort to those measures. Overall, the service was still poor at best. Communication was either non-existent or sparse. And Best Interstate obviously has no problem contracting with shady business partners. I will not be using this company for any future move, nor recommending them to any friends.

UPDATE: Since delivery, Best Interstate has contacted me multiple times to address my concerns. I have spoken with Sheana multiple times, and she is probably the only person that has been understanding, attentive, and proactive. Best Interstate did offer some monetary compensation, which is appreciated. For this reason, I have updated the review to 3 stars.
