US Household Moving & Storage

The worst movers I have ever seen. I believe these guys are brokers. They give us an initial estimate which is just some random amount. I am sure these guys do not know how much cubic foot each furniture takes (eg sofa, bed etc) . They give us some wrong estimate and make us believe it is very cheap. Also once u pay advance with them and cancel it you wont get any actual refund . They might refund as US Household credits not actual dollars and you need to use that credits within a year. So we were forced to use these movers. Also during the day when actual movers came the cost was twice as the quote price for the same set of furnitures. We were totally shocked as we could not cancel it too as we had already paid 900 dollars. They promised us that the movers will dismantle our furniture and again reassemble them which is a total lie.
Also they don't deliver your items to home. They just drop your items in a highway. You have to rent a uhaul or small truck and then collect your items . If not it is extra 500 dollars for them to drop your items. Seriously I was quoted 2000 dollars and I ended up paying 5000 dollars. I feel I could have got all new furnitures for less than 5000 dollars. Also they lost my bed frame, broke my computer table and shoe rack. I do not know what all trouble I have to undergo to get a claim. Seriously do not ever use these guys. They just suck all your money and give you a poor service.

BEWARE! Absolute thieves I would not recommend this company at all. We got them to help us move my husband asked four times if we could cancel if we needed to Johne said yes if we called before our payment processed. We called three days after to cancel which there is a federal law you can cancel in three days but also we were told by Johne that we could get our money back. They denied us our money back and said they are keeping the deposit of $1,000.00! We didn’t process that payment till two days after our phone call too! We ended up not moving job related and they think we found someone cheaper even though they are going to match any price. Beware of this con artist company. Johne kept saying whatever to my husband and said they would send us to collections if we didn’t pay up even though the federal law states we didn’t have to pay even signing a contract if we cancel in three days. We are now fighting to get our money back. I would suggest to go with anyone else but this company. Taking $1,000.00 from someone for doing absolutely nothing. Taking a small deposit fee is normal but taking the full amount is thievery.

Please do not use this fraudulent company. So far, we have lost $800 and all peace of mind about our upcoming move.

Specifically: they called five days before the contracted date of pickup to tell us it is no longer available on their end, so they asked to move us early. We said that we needed to keep our original date, so they told us they would have to increase the price. They called separately (still no truck planned for our moving date) to confirm the inventory in our house, but their list bears no resemblance to our actual possessions. They explained that changes to the (incorrect) inventory on moving day would lead to additional charges. When we've tried to cancel, they've refused to give a refund and instead offered us credit toward a future move.

Nothing about their interactions with us have proved trustworthy; I wish that we had seen these other reviews before signing our contract. Just writing this to help protect others.

We moved from north nj to philly and needed a mover that would do it on realy short notice. US Household Moving took up our offer and did it for the price we needed. They moved all our stuff professionally in less than a week -- we are really happy with their services. Every single one of our requests has been fulfilled exactly how we wanted. If we move in the future, I hope this company will still be around because they offer exactly what we wanted and offered good communication. We did not worry about our belonging at all and thankfully there doesn't seem to be anything missing or damaged.

WORTHLESS COMPANY! Do not use this company. I don't care if they have a few positive reviews- it is NOT worth the torment, the hassle, the lies and the COST. First, a broker will call you. He doesn't work for US Household and moving- he's only trying to get your business. When I say he I'm talking about Brian P and Michael Ross. Yes, he will give you a great quote. He will promise you that your delivery will not be a problem- your timeframe is perfect he says.. He will tell you that he'll be with you every step of the way. He will give you his cell phone number and tell you it's ok to call whenever you need him. He will give you a quote and then say oh I can get it cheaper for you hang on. Then he comes in at a price that is lower than you doing it yourself.. Don't Believe Him. He doesn't return your calls or take your calls and his reply via email is "I highly suggest you talk to customer service" Which by the way they are pathetic as well. He will then send your call to Vanessa so she can take your money from your checking account via DocuSign. No, they don't take credit cards.. Big Red Flag. You better not add or take off any items.. This will cost you a lot of money. I actually took off a sofa and loveseat and added one Target bookshelf and my $1749 trip turned into $2500. Oh, I assure you when the truck comes we have a foreman who will adjust your price. Another Lie. The broker told me the cost is based on weight- dispatch told me the price was based on cubic feet. The drivers pulled up and threw my daughter's stuff in a "Budget" Rental truck that was empty and not scored for cubic feet dimensions as I was told it would be. I drove my daughter to Colorado on May 31 for college- it's now June 8 and they still have NO ETA for her belongings. I could write a short novel on how unprofessional and ill-prepared this company is. They have caused so much stress in my daughter's life, my life, and her dad's life. They are beyond horrible- they are not helpful, they ARE full of deceit and they will take you for every stinking penny they can. I caution you.. Do not do business with US Household Storage and Moving or Prodigy Movers also known as Trusted Moving. Trust is the farthest thing they represent. Horrible Experience and I haven't even explained everything.

This company lied to us to get our business, they were pushy when we were shopping around for movers. These are the people we have spoken to, Max initially to book, Mike to do our quality assurance call who told us following things which Max had already promised. Our move will be priced by weight and cubic feet BOTH, we get to pick our first preferred day of delivery which was June 6th, and if ANYTHING, it may be delayed another 3-5 days. Their guy Costello the truck driver called me on the 1st for a pick up of June 3rd and told me that he is coming for the pick up on the 3rd with one more guy besides himself. I told him that was going to be insufficient for our move & also that wasn't the information we were given. I told him specifically that he will be packing part of my kitchen and only PART of my daughter's playroom and bedroom all three we had already packed half of. He disregarded me saying I have done bigger jobs this is a small move. I told him, I was uncomfortable with only two men & I would call the broker to inform them that this is not sufficient he disregarded me. On moving day June 3rd, Costello (Empire Van lines) showed up with only one man, he was aggressive, post walk through, he threw his hands up & said this is too much you have to pay extra $2000+ for this, He pretended like he didn't know details of our move which I personally told him myself & this US household company claimed they did as well. When we tried to question him, he took his papers and walked out on us, we were in such a horrific position, we had to leave that house the very next morning in ILL & then close on our house on the 5th in TN which we were driving to as well. We had to BEG him to stay & under pressure had to not only agree to what he was saying, also he made him sign the papers which the driver himself hadn't even filled out fully. We offered Costello to pack our own remaining of the kitchen to save money he AGAIN became aggressive because by then it was clear that his intentions were to scare us into paying more money. He told us, he will NOT weigh our belongings & that we are being charged per cubic feet which was again, ANOTHER lie we were told by the broker Max and Mike, Costello then called Kyle, who basically backed Costello up & changed the entire story & said he was sorry that we were told the wrong information and that we HAD to pay Costello more money. Continuation of my previous review, their driver spent hours in his truck on the phone instead of packing, which led to them being at my house from 10:45am until 8:30pm at night, we were so afraid of this man that we had to lock ourselves in a room because we didn't feel safe being around him. At the end of the move, he made my husband sign more papers, he wouldn't allow us time to properly read his paperwork, and then he stated that you won't get your stuff for another 2-3 weeks which was after he had all our belongings and money. Since then, we have called US household daily, requesting to resolve this matter, then once again ignore our calls, they don't call us back, they say that since my husband signed the paper which said that it CAN take up to 21 days, we have no choice but to deal with it. We have now spoken to Angie, Vanessa, Tyler, Kyle and now some woman named Stephanie (who refused to identify herself) they also refused to tell us the name of the owner of Empire Van lines who literally have our belongings & are technically working FOR US were hired these brokers. Stephanie screamed at my husband the ENTIRE call & was extremely disrespectful, refused to resolve the matter. She told us that she had to deal with us while she was visiting family & how inconvenient that was. However, what about the days & weeks my family and I have to spend not knowing when and IF we will have our belongings, a crib for my baby to sleep in & food, we have now spent hundreds of dollars trying to survive until we have our belongings. DO NOT hire them, avoid them at all cost.
