Long-distance move from Saint Paul, MN to Austin, TX

Damaged stuff, delayed delivery and hopeless at refunds

We had scheduled our move from Twin Cities, MN to Austin, TX.

The delivery was delayed by not days but by weeks. Recliners were damaged and refund process needed to sign a letter in front of Notary and check thats placed on 'HOLD' since they want to confirm its made to correct person! Been calling them for months to have refund check out of hold to deposit at bank. No one from Customer Service will answer or return calls to verify details to remove said hold. This has been ongoing for 4 months now!!!

Nothing short of malpractices! Rent a UHAUL and drive yourself!. RUN AWAY from this company.

Long-distance move from Rancho Cucamonga, CA to Columbus, OH

SCAM SCAM SCAM DO NOT USE

I was contacted by Christopher from Navistar about a moving quote. Of course they had the best one, and he pushed for me to lock in the lowest rate they had. This was in February of 2022, and I had no clue when our move would actually take place. I continuously asked him over and over again what would happen if I didn't move with their company? Christopher said I would be refunded every penny and to help set me at ease, he added it in to the contract. The standard is that you have to cancel in 72 hours, but he wanted me to be able to take advantage of this great rate, so he wrote this exception in to the contract.

I have this written in to my contract estimates three times, and written in text, and given in verbal promises that ALL of my deposit would be refunded at any time if I chose not move with Navistar. As soon as it came time for us to give the deposit, the line and promises about my "full refund" disappeared.

During my quality check before the move, I found out that over half my inventory had disappeared (probably how my rate and cost was so easy to keep so low). As I went through the inventory list with Steve, I got extremely worried about the price, and at the end, found out that the cost of the move had DOUBLED. I now owed an additional deposit.

I tried to get ahold of Christopher or Steve and was unable to. I found another moving company that was able to accommodate my needs within two days and called Navistar to ensure my move with them was cancelled and to initiate my refund.

Surprise surprise, the customer service rep I spoke to, Michelle, (who needs to learn how to actually work in customer service) basically told me good luck, I didn't cancel in 72 hours, it didn't matter what I was told anywhere, I wasn't getting any money back.

After the weekend I called Christopher, actually got ahold of him, and his whole attitude had changed. He was rude and basically accused me of lying. I reminded him of what he had told me and said the equivalent of "nope, I never said that, show me where you saw that, it's not there." He transferred me to billing, who was a most awful woman. She talked and yelled over me, and finally hung up on me.

I haven't received any of my deposit back. My phone number is blocked from calling the company. I tried disputing with my bank but because of the way Navistar processed the payment my bank can't / won't do anything about it. They originally wanted me to pay with Zelle, Venmo, or another cash app. When I refused and said I wanted to pay with a card or something like that, I was given the option of an ACH online. It was processed like I had handed over my check book.

DO NOT hire Navistar Van Lines. They only care about getting money, will not stick to anything they say to you, and you will have no recourse once your money is in their hands.

Sadly, we are not able to upload the three signed copies of your contract with the inventory and detailed piece count signed by yourself. These copies were reviewed and agreed upon by you. However, I have pulled up the original contracts that you were sent, and the inventory for each one was exactly the same at 128 pieces. You also completed the Quality Assurance phone call and added items to your inventory, which brings your total to 209 items. This is why you would be charged more for Quality Assurance as your estimate is based on how much space your items will occupy in the truck. Before you click the signature button, you will see the inventory with the pieces and the piece count. As noted in your file, you called into customer service on 3/5 to request modifying your inventory to bring down the price after Quality assurance. They assisted you as best they could. There is only so much we can do price-wise once the customer signs the contract and submits it to the carrier. With regards to the refund, the contract that you signed does not have this information. It also does not include any stipulations stating that if you cancel at any time during the moving process, you will be eligible for a refund. The contract does state that if you cancel outside of the 72 hour window from booking or within 5 business days of your scheduled pickup date, your deposit is non-refundable. If you wish to discuss this anyfurther please reach out to customer service. - Navistar Management

Worst

This was the worst experience I have ever had in my life. Customer Service are liars, I initially ask how long was the company in business and was advised over 10 years and found out it was less than a year. Secondly, they gave me a quote that suppose to accommodate my one bedroom and once the contractors arrived it was only enough room for the boxes and no furniture. I had to pay an additional $900.00. My total for a 1 bedroom was 3000. Nearly every piece of furniture I had was damaged. They will ask you when do you want your furniture, knowingly they would use the deliver date to the full extent of the contract. PLEASE READ YOUR CONTRACT-DO NOT TRUST CUSTOMER SERVICE.-DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

I apologize for the additional charges incurred during pickup. I note that you had items that were not described or that were larger than what was disclosed at the time of booking. We need to receive as complete and accurate of a description of the items as possible in order to generate an estimate. As your estimate is based upon the size of the items and the amount of space occupied in the truck, if they require more space, the driver must provide you with a revised estimate. Also, there was no information on file pertaining to the need to file a claim for damaged items. We ask that you contact Customer Service so that they may provide you with this information.

Worst Moving Company_ do not give them your money

They told me the drivers would be able to take apart furniture, wrap delicate items and pack items in boxes. The drivers showed up with nothing..no supplies at all. They said that was not there responsibilit. Navistar said it would be 4-6 days from the day they pick up to the day they deliver. That was untrue. The driver that showed up (in the van) said 3 weeks of we were lucky and our items would be held in a storage warehouse for now. He didn't even know the name of the carrier that would eventually hopefully transport our belongings. Our quote was for a 2 bedroom home. The driver showed up in a small cargo van and told us it would take at least 2-3 trips for him to shuttle our belongings to this unknown warehouse. Our bedframe wouldn't even fit in their van. When the driver showed up he had a price that was $500 more than my quote. Navistar was supposed to call 1 week before pick up to finalize an inventory list. They never called. I had to call them the day before our pick up date to see if they were even still coming. Nothing Navistar promised us or quoted us was given to us. When I called customer service they were extremely rude and refused to make it right in any way! We paid a $1965 deposit they refused to refund even though they did not provide the service they contracted with us. I would never recomend anyone to ever use Navistar Van Lines LLC.

Tracie,

You are welcome to feel this way, and I apologize for the inconvenience. Our customer service representative informed you that we would be issuing a refund for $500. In addition, we apologize for the potential delay in delivery. Due to weather and other outside forces, we are unable to control the delivery schedule, especially during the winter when there is snow on the roads and delays may occur.

Long-distance move from Gilbert, AZ to Amarillo, TX

Do NOT hire this company

I hired this company a month ago for a move from Az to Tx. The sales guy Jason Fraiser told me he’d help me with any questions during this process. I paid deposit and got it all set up but a few days later I had questions. Reached out to Jason and got no response. I requested the date of the 17th of January. I was called on the 14th to tell me the driver can only pick up on the 16th and they would be here between 8 and 10. I really had no choice so I agreed. Here we are Sunday morning driver isn’t here yet and every number I dial I can’t get to a live person. We have paid for hotels and have already changed our schedules for this. Very inconvenient don’t use this company.

They showed an hour late!

Absolutely do not use this company they are brokers and they are not the company that transports your belongings. After they packed everything up my quote went from 5777 to over 9 thousand dollars. The company they had move us was called USA Logistics. They have an awful ratings and every review from customers experiences are the same as ours. I was told by Navistar that they drive our stuff right to the property but that’s not true. It could take up to 21 days for us to get our stuff … If we even get it at all.

We got our stuff and there is items missing. This company as well as the awful companies they hired are not interested in helping me with our missing items.

AVOID THIS COMPANY!!! FIND A COMPANY THATS NOT A BROKER!!

I apologize that your space reservation went up during pickup. However, I see from the paperwork that you picked up a significant number of additional items at pickup, almost 100 in total. In the unfortunate event that items are not disclosed before pickup, we will not be able to provide an accurate estimate. This will result in an increased price at pickup. In reviewing the call logs, I see that you spoke to customer service the vast majority of the time during, before, and after pickup. Furthermore, I apologize for the driver's one hour delay; they are subject to real world conditions and there can be traffic or unavoidable delays. To discuss this further in an adult and professional manner, please contact customer service at 800-380-5095 or by email at info@navistarvanlines.com. - Navistar Management.

Long-distance move from Las Vegas, NV to Windsor, CO

Do not hire this company!

If negative zero stars were an option it would be more accurate. Completely Crooked!!!I have ABSOLUTELY no idea how this company got this many 5 star reviews. Fake reviews??? Most of these so called "great" reviews have been made in the last month or so. If you also notice the reviews are days apart or multiple 5 star reviews on the same day which seems fishy to me. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. First, please understand these people are brokers. They hire other companies to move you and it is not clearly stated. Secondly, READ your contract! We hired Navistar to move our son from Las Vegas to Colorado. We gave them two dates for the move and it was stated in the contract. We were told that they would provide all packing materials however when my son spoke with a representative a week later he was told they would pack everything but he was responsible for supplying the packing materials (boxes, bubble wrap, etc. ). The week of the move they called us two days before our agreed upon date and said that they needed to come a day early due to conflicts in their schedule. We weren't happy but our son made arrangements to sleep in a hotel because all of his furniture was packed up already, his wife was pregnant, and he wasn't able to leave a day early. Then an hour before the movers were due to arrive Navistar called and said they had double booked and now the movers would not be there until two day LATER than agreed upon. My son spoke with a woman named, Tracy(?) and explained that he had just wasted money on a hotel room because they said they would be early and now they are stating that they will be two days later?! The Navistar representative was less than helpful and basically stated that we would not get our deposit back if we canceled. Moving two days later than the agreed upon dates wasn't possible because my son's move out date was not flexible. We had to cancel our move with Navistar and rent a Uhaul truck and move our son ourselves. We had already given this company a $1,300 deposit. They will not refund our money. Please read your contract carefully if you are thinking of hiring this company. The requested moving dates are listed at the beginning of the contract however the way that it is written is that they can show up 4 days prior or 4 days later. I personally think this is a scam. What moving company runs there company this way? This was not due to weather. This was due to poor scheduling and a complete lack of professionalism. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up and prevent this business from cheating others. Here are some links to other consumers that have had similar experiences with this crooked company. I have included links below to some of the other negative reviews because they seem to have flooded the internet with false reviews. They all have had similar experiences to ours.

*** They also DO NOT ACCEPT credit cards! Why? Maybe because you can dispute the charges??? They use Zelle, Venmo, or cash. (yeah we should have been more wary :( )

Official company response

Michael,

It is frustrating to be asked to set up a date later than previously planned. A note in your file indicates that the carrier did compensate you for the inconvenience caused by the delays caused by inclement weather that delayed the rescheduled arrival of the truck. There can sometimes be issues due to the fact that the drivers have real-life conditions on the road and there is a shortage of drivers available due to the ongoing pandemic. However, we do our best to send crews out when they were discussed previously. The customer service team attempted to discuss this matter with you, however, the unprofessional and explicit language used against them prevented the conversation from continuing. When there are delays, we do our best to compensate customers for the inconvenience. The representative you spoke with when you called to cancel your move was not able to discuss this option with you because of the language used during your call with her. We also explain during booking and in the signed contract that we, unfortunately, cannot guarantee dates due to real-world conditions that can cause unavoidable delays. Please contact customer service at 800-380-5095 Monday-Friday 9:30-6 pm if you wish to discuss this in a professional and adult-like manner. - Navistar Management

Long-distance move from Guffey, CO to Lehigh Acres, FL

SO far the worst service ever

I hired this company after reading the reviews and I must say I am very disappointed. Our stuff was loaded by a subcontractor crew who reaked of pot and they loaded our stuff on a Uhaul- took it to Denver to lord knows where, unloaded it in a warehouse when we were told it was going on a truck directly coming to Florida. This was on the 23rd of January. It was suppose to b here by the 31st and now it is 2/7 and no word on where it is or when it will be here. The communication from Navistar and the sub contractor company they use is been next to nothing. Haven't heard from anyone in almost a week. When I completed the contract they never said anything about sub contractors. They have taken a deposit, then payment when they picked up and nothing!!!!!! The attorney generals of both states will be looking into this further.

Official company response

This is the first time we have heard of any issues with the pickup crew. The dispatch manager and the crew foreman will be informed, as this will not be tolerated or condoned by either company. Having this information more promptly would have allowed us to take care of this right away. Regardless of marijuana being legal in Colorado, it would be inappropriate and unprofessional for this to occur and will be investigated. You have spoken with us numerous times regarding the delivery of your order. Please accept my apologies for inclement weather leading to unsafe driving conditions, which delayed the delivery of your items. Both the carrier and Navistar are committed to making sure your items reach you safely and the drivers are safe while driving. Even though we understand that unforeseeable delays can be frustrating, the safety of your items and the crew is of paramount importance. My understanding is that your pickup was completed on the 22nd of January and that they were supposed to be in transit on the 30th, but were delayed until the 2nd. Please feel free to reach back out to our customer service department to discuss this matter further if you still need any more assistance in the matter.

They did not show up on the day that I requested. The movers called me a racist. I thought it was supposed to be a full service move and I feel like I was misled because once the movers notified me that's when I found out it was NOT a FULL service move. Cynthia,

We wish you a sincere apology if this is how you feel. We had no record of any problems with your pickup at all. I do see the notation confirming that you needed 8 boxes and 2 tv packing boxes on your file. I do not see any notations requesting for them to do any packing services for you. I am sure the crew would have been more than willing to perform those tasks as that is an optional service. Packing supplies are not a free service and the supplies must be paid for. Also in our systems we have, it listed as confirmed for pickup on the 1/15 which was within your window, 1/14-1/15, as we do have a two-day window listed. We would appreciate if you called and spoke to Customer Service directly ,as we have not had any communications with you since the day before pickup, so we can discuss this matter with you 800-

LIARS! SCAMMERS! DISAPPEAR AFTER GET DEPOSIT

Dustin set up moves for myself from WI to FL and my daughter from WI to NC. They told us one quantity and price, sent us both contracts then had to send new contracts which we were told were same, but info switched. drivers showed a day late, told us had to pay cash and $950 more bc dustin estimate wrong. Dustin said it’d take 3 days to deliver and he won’t answer phone, customer service said they’re done - call driver and we have nothing delivered and don’t know when or IF we will get our possessions. STOLE $1300 from my daughter!!! ABSOLUTE CROOKS!! BEWARE.

Also, when we asked Dustin about bad reviews he said - “those were just cheapskates that didn’t want to pay”. lol. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.

We are in Florida, no clothes, no furniture, no NOTHING. We have 3 days of clothes, 2 towels, toiletries. We don’t have utensils, plates, bowls, pans, sheets, beds, etc. The Navistar customer service knows they got their money so could care less that our property isn’t delivered.

Then, even though contract with navistar, they didn’t answer me to tell me how much money they needed at pickup. then i found out needed cashiers check so got one. mover wouldn’t move bc had to be cash for them????? then $950 more and what about contract with navistar??? who knows!!!

GO WITH A LOCAL COMPANY THAT DELIVERS THEMSELVES! DO NOT GO WITH A BROKER LIKE THESE UNSCRUPULOUS PEOPLE.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2800

Official company response

You are informed that your estimate is determined by the amount of space your items occupy in the truck. Whether it was an issue of space or weight, there must be a calculation made at the time of pickup if there was any additional volume, as that applies to every single moving company. When you called customer service on the day of pick up, they explained that you can always stay with the original reservation if you do not wish to pay the additional fee. Our crews strive to deliver your items as soon as possible. Due to DOT regulations, there are limits to how quick they can deliver products. I see that your shipment was picked up on 3/8 and your first delivery date was 3/11. A moving company's delivery window does not begin until that date as per standard procedure. It appears from your account notations that you called Navistar Customer Service looking for delivery the day following pick up and you were notified of this information, and then on the 10th you were provided with the carrier's office number. Based on your FADD, it is not legally possible for you to be delivered at the time of writing this review. You have spoken with the customer service team at Navistar several times, and we believe your statements are inaccurate and misrepresent the facts in an attempt to vilify the company. In terms of the methods of payment, you are informed at the time of booking, and you received an email with this information regarding acceptable forms of payment. Concerning your daughter's move, she opted to cancel it outside of the 72-hour cancellation period. As per the contract, if you do not cancel within 72 hours of booking, the deposit will not be refunded, although it can be applied to a future move within 24 months. If you wish to discuss this further please feel free to call Customer Service ~ Navistar Management

DO NOT TRUST THEM

My initial reaction to this company was wow, really awesome guy. Nicholas promised he would take care of us. I should have known when he asked me for a deposit via Zelle. It was a pretty hefty deposit to boot. About 48hrs into the process my intuition told me different. So, I emailed all staff that I needed to, only to be told that my move could not be cancelled due to the fact that they (NaviStar) had used their company credit card to put a deposit down on my behalf at no cost to me. Wait! Doesn't one have rights when utilizing a credit card? Anyway, I allowed Nicholas to ensure me that everything was on track and to TRUST him that everything would be fine. Well I missed my window of opportunity to get anything back from my deposit. NaviStar said I could use it towards another move of a future date...really, I am leaving CONUS. Front office staff were great in protecting their sales person, one even went as far as staying that Nicholas did his job by keeping me from cancelling my estimate within the 72hr window. I really never had a chance at getting anything back once I released the funds via Zelle. Like my bank said, use Zelle only for friends and family. NaviStar is neither.

For those of you looking for reputable moving company, do your research. TRUST NO ONE that asks you for a deposit via Zelle. Ask them for their acceptable payment method. If they do not take your CC or ACH info, move the heck on.

4.1 star rating...really? How????

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: $4621

Official company response

Leeann,

You had the right, under your contract, to cancel your move within 72 hours in order to receive a refund if you wished to. It was within your rights under your contract to move ahead with the relocation, even though you decided to move forward with it. It should be noted that refunds will typically be processed within seven to ten business days after a move has been canceled during that period. As a result of credit card fraud increasing and a number of service providers ceasing to accept credit cards, most companies no longer accept them. Especially with the multitude of payment methods at the disposal of customers today, this is even more true. There was a crew on hand and shipping arrangements in place to complete your move from NJ to HI. As described when scheduling your move, if you elect to cancel your move for whatever reason, the credit can be applied to a future move. If you wish to discuss this matter further please feel free to call Customer Service, at 800-380-5095. -Navistar Management.

Broker Service -SCAM

I had a small job 400 cubic feet. The drive showed up alone without any help to load the truck. This is a service that I paid for was loading. When you call support they say that its not their problem and that we shouldn't have help load the truck. When I explained to the agent that the driver was alone they said he was a professional and it was not their problem. They also hid the delviery window . The driver showed up and said it would be 21 days to make it 800 miles. When I was speaking to the sales agent they confirmed it would be there in 3-5 days and I have it via text from the sales agent. Navistar backed out of it and said they are just the broker and they are not responsible for what the sales people said. There is no accountability. Navistar failed to hold up their end of the contract.

Move size: Studio Service cost: $1900

Official company response

Efraim,
My apologies to the driver for arriving alone. To say the least, this is unusual. It is typical for the driver to arrive first and to provide the customer with a visual estimate and review the paperwork, however, the rest of the crew will have already arrived by that time. As a result, I inquired as to what exactly happened and why this was not the case. Possibly, this is due to the fact that your inventory was small and mostly comprised of boxes. I do not see how this would justify you claiming that we are a scam since the truck did arrive and complete your move. According to the Department of Transportation, the transit time is generally 2-10 business days, since the drivers can only drive the truck for a set period of time. While the driver does inform you that they have up to 21 business days, as stated on the Bill of Lading, they have up to 21 business days to deliver before being considered late. Delivery times can only be controlled to a limited extent by us, as your goods are not in our possession and they are subject to road conditions. If you wish to discuss this matter further, you may contact Customer Service directly at 800-380-5095.- Navistar Management

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

DON’T go with this company!! These people are scammers! They’ll give you a quote making it seem like you’re getting a good deal then close to move in date, they’ll try to get more money from you, then refuse to give the money you already paid back because they “misquoted”. They refused to move my furniture and won’t give me my 2k back after I was told the quote given would move all my furniture! They claimed it wasn’t true and there’s nothing they can do so now I had to unpack everything I just packed because they refused to help. In the process of looking into a lawsuit to hopefully get back what I paid when after I was lied to. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2200

Official company response

The inventory list must be reviewed and approved before clicking the link for the electronic signature for the initial contract. Sometimes items may be missed during an initial telephone call, or items may be added or removed from the list between the time of booking and the time of pickup. For this reason, the Quality Assurance team must review the inventory 3-5 days before the move to obtain a final inventory for the drivers. Based on the amount of space your items would occupy inside the truck, your estimate would be calculated accordingly. If additional service is required, the estimate should be adjusted based on the previously agreed upon rate per cubic foot. After quality assurance, the estimate increased to 97 items at 553 cubic feet. Your original estimate was 59 items at 376 cubic feet. While we understand that our customers have a budget, we must charge for the services provided as with any service provider. Any cancellations outside of the 72-hour window the deposit is non-refundable as per the contract.

Broker Scamer

If I could give them no stars, I would. This is a scammer broker who is not a real moving company. They were incorporated as a broker in August 2021. So, fly by night. They are NOT a mover, but registered as a broker. So, someone else will show up to move it, if at all. The salesperson lied about that to me, and was evasive about owning their trucks and storage facilities.

Second, after finally getting a signed version of my contract, they claim they can keep you deposit if you critize them on social media because I agreed to it. I didn't, and they slip that in to keep it. The FTC, AND the state of Floriday have both made that illegal.

I signed up with them and zelled them $2355 as a deposit based on their website and representations by the broker. My bad. I figured out that I was scammed in an hour of looking at theirwebsite and I asked to cancel it. The salesperson stalled and said that accounting was closed, but he'd reverse it on Monday. Then he disappeared. On Tuesday, he said, oh too bad you are on the hook.

After fighting with them a couple of times, I posted a bad review on this site. We made a deal that if I removed it, they'd return my deposit. 8 weeks later, nothing. They sent it on March 10th, but seeing that my mail was being scanned and forwarded to our new address, the post service said it was very unlikely they lost it. I'm reposting. Stay away from these people. I'm going to file an FTC compliant, and probably have to sue this fly-by-night place in Florida. I will also file a better business bureau compliant. Stay, stay away from these awful lying people.

Official company response

As per our previous communications in regard to this matter, the contract states that a deposit is non-refundable when false claims or misinterpreted facts are presented to the public while refunds are contested or reviewed. This is a standard clause in contracts and is a legal statement. While we were in a conversation with you, you disputed the fact that you had canceled your move outside of the 72-hour period while posting a review that vilified the situation. We replied that your actions violated the terms of the contract. After we informed you of this information, you opted to remove the review. In response to your move booking on 1/28, you texted your booking agent on the 31st stating that you no longer wish to pay with Zelle. You also stated that you wish to change the method of payment to a credit card. Booking agents informed you that it was after hours and billing would need to be contacted Monday to discuss changing the method of payment for your deposit. There was no discussion regarding the possibility of canceling your move entirely. The formal cancellation, as required by the contract, was not received until 2/2, which is outside of the contractually-required time period. We opted to offer a refund less 10%. You have already been notified that the refund check has been mailed out. It is beyond the control of Navistar Van Lines to determine whether the United States Postal Service acted negligently in losing the envelope or in delaying delivery as a result of operational issues. Navstar Van Lines complied with their end of the agreement. You did not inquire about the status of the check until 4/1 via email. Due to a sickness, the manager responsible for the inbox was not available. There had not been any other attempt to contact Navistar in regards to the matter, instead you opted to file a complaint with the BBB. In this complaint, you made accusations about Navistar not upholding their commitment instead of giving the company a timely response and remedy. Upon the return of the manager to the office on Monday morning you received a prompt reply. In this reply, you were told that if you hadn't received it by that day to let them know and we would reprocess it. - Navistar Management

Long distance move from MN to CA

Quoted 1 price only to be told we owed more at pick up, price doubled. The increase in cost appears to be part of the “Bait and Switch” tactic. At drop off (12:45AM), driver wanted extra money to deliver inside house. Steps would be an additional $75.00, sidewalk to the front of the house would also be additional. When I spoke to the driver to explain I did not have Apple pay and needed the items in the house, he just laughed. It was Apple pay only or leave in the garage. Customer service was horrible all around. Communication between the company and the move team was terrible. They do not even deserve 1 star. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY EVER!

Move size: Studio Service cost: $7500

Official company response

Jane,

Due to the nature of your review I reviewed the paperwork that was signed at the time of pickup. The signed paperwork from pickup for the inventory item count and the breakdown of charges due to the significant increase. Review of the paperwork revealed that the 43 items you mentioned during the booking and quality assurance phone calls had grown to 120 items. In my opinion, it is difficult for us to provide an accurate estimate of the charges if there were 77 items you did not provide us with information about. Please accept my apologies for not making it clear to you that if you added more items during the time of pickup and your space reservation went up, your price would also increase. We, as Navistar Van Lines, were a part of the process and gave you an estimate based on the 43 items that you had disclosed; it was not known to us at any point that you would need to add over 77 items, or those items would have been included in the quote provided to you. A plumbing company will quote you a price based upon the scope of the work you requested, however, when it arrives at your home, you inform them you require the removal of two clogs as well as the replacement of a leaking faucet, the price will have to be adjusted. Based on the paperwork, it does not appear that your vilification of Navistar or its employees is warranted or appropriate, given that we now know why your price increased upon your failure to disclose the full scope of items to be moved. Furthermore Navistar Customer Service was not contacted at any time regarding the drivers demanding apple pay. Should you wish to discuss this further, please contact customer service.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2700

Official company response

Dawn,

Your file indicates that after your Quality Assurance call, you elected to cancel your move. The initial estimate for your move was 58 items at 386 cubic feet. As a result of your discussion with Quality Assurance, your estimate was increased to 63 pieces at 468 cubic feet. Because your estimate is based on the volume of inventory, increasing inventory will result in an increase in space reservations. In the event of an increase in volume, the estimate was increased by $4.00 per cubic foot, which is why your total move costs increased from $2348.64 to $2800.00. We apologize if you did not wish to pay for the additional space, however the company must be compensated for its services. As with any service provider, the cost will increase when the scope of the work increases. If there was a long carry fee or anything of that nature, the move was cancelled before the carrier arrived, so it is only pure speculation that these fees would have been assessed at the time of the pickup. If you wish to discuss this further, please feel free to reach out to customer service. – Navistar Management.

Scammer pressure you to pay for deposit

Anthony Bucco call And keep me on the phone over an hr, when I told him. I want to get a quote from other companies. He lower the price, I did not want to pay for the deposit because of the contract. The manager promise me, he will give me every penny if I give him 5 days notice. When I called To cancel on the 24 of March, 2022. The customer representative manager Angelica state “ I won’t give you back the money” I told her I’m going to sue the company. She state “ good luck with that”. Navistarvanlines called and I spoke with Sarah Coppola asked me to remove the review, they will give me my money. John Capputo sent me a fake check via electronic, I never received the money. I called my bank the money never goes to my bank account. Do not do business with Navistarvanlines, scammer, scammer, scammer

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2800

Official company response

Fabienne,

I am unsure of the basis for your accusations against our company. On 3/11, you made a $300 deposit toward your move. According to the contract, you have 72 hours from the date of signing to cancel your move and receive a refund. You opted to cancel your move on March 24. Despite being outside the cancellation period, we processed a refund for the amount of $300. On March 29, the refund was deposited into your account. Our customer service department spent at least one hour on the phone with you in order to assist you in accepting the refund. I understand that you were upset that the refund did not appear immediately in your account, but the bank does require a certain period of time to process the refund. -Navistar Van Lines Management

Bait and Switch

First, they never pick up on a Friday. So when you request a Friday, and they say "ok", that is untrue. They can't give you the exact day until 24 hours before, so they want the customer to bend over backwards for them.

Went over inventory, they were low. Put it up to what other movers were saying. We are still low.

Told our own truck, nope, sharing the load with another customer.

Bait and switch.

ZERO STARS for harassment

Navistar Van Lines will not leave me alone! We never even reached out to them but somehow they got my contact info and regardless of what I tell them they continue the harassment. I have sent word to the company office and they apparently lack the common sense and decency to stop their sales staff from blatantly annoying me. As least three different reps (Peter, Michelle, and Christopher Morris the supervisor), have sent me texts and emails every two or three days since mid April. I told them right from the start to STOP TEXTING, and that we are NOT INTERESTED. We never even contacted them in the first place! I even stated that we already had another company booked. I have ended up blocking 4 different numbers and they STILL persist in spamming my phone.

Apparently Navistar has no idea what they are doing, even at the most basic level of customer service. I would never trust any company that was this desperately unprofessional, and this clueless on even the most simple levels of communication . .. Like NO means NO.

Avoid Navistar!

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE - SCAMMERS - DO NOT USE

They charged DOUBLE the price we originally signed for and we relieved other peoples’ belongings. They broke EVERYTHING of ours and all our boxes were torn up for some reason. We even used uhaul nice boxes. DO NOT use them - it is an absolute scam and they will not answer their customer service line after the move to reimburse or hear any complaints.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $5000

Official company response

Tyler,

If you feel that the additional charges at pickup were unjustified or unfair, I apologize. We have reviewed the documentation that was completed at pickup by the carrier. In total, 125 items were loaded onto the truck. We received 42 items from you during the booking process and from the quality assurance call. Due to the fact that the estimate is based on the amount of space occupied by your items in the truck, in the event there are more items there is going to be more space used, the driver has to adjust the price according to the final reservation. As with any service provider, if the scope of work to be performed is greater than the scope originally agreed upon, the price will be adjusted accordingly. Regarding the damage, we have no record of any complaints with either Navistar or the driver. Our team will contact you to discuss this matter further in order to ensure that you are able to make a claim.

Never again. Negative star review if I could

Worse experience ever,Ray sugar coated the whole process to find out their customer service was snotty and rude then the truck had us waiting two days late and never called, I called them then for an inflated price, double what was quoted, we received lots of broken and missing stuff in the move. Mad and upset doesn't start to cover how I feel about this process. Wish I could give them a negative star review.

WillGive 0 stars if I can awful and pathetic and money grabbers

I will give them 0 stars if i Can All the fake reviews dont believe them and their customer service is so unresponsive…. I was given an estimate for x amount and I told them the number of boxes I had( I gave extra number of boxes to be added just to be on the safe side) but had lot less than the ones I told still Inwas over charged when the driver came to pick up.

And on the delivery day when the driver opened the truck my heart skipped as it was packed to the T and pretty sure the items were damaged as were mine..: My tv was broken, lamps were broken all the boxes which were marked as fragile are torn with the contents flying around the truck…. And on top of it the customer service doesnt respond to the calls to claim damage….. never recommend it never ever to any one I am complaining to the BBB

Worst Experience in my life

Please stay away from this company. The estimates they send are just lies, I had to do my moving in 2 phases, THE TOTAL WAS AROUND $5,000, but with the "EXTRAS" are $9,000. Phase 1 ,first pick up, was on June 7th, today is July 14th and no idea where is my stuff, the charged me almost double because is a "special Murphy bed" and they charge me 300 cf for the Murphy bed with obviously it doesn't have that volume. When I call them always there is a rude lady and said the carrier will contact me n the next 24-48 hours, I´ve never been contacted, no reasons, and now they identify my number and they are not answering my calls.

Since I was having a bad experience I tried to cancel Phase 2 but they said that they don't make any refunds on the deposit, so I had to continue with the phase 2, the pick up was on July 10th, I ask to please deliver the furniture on an specific Saturday July 23rd, but now they are saying that they need to deliver on July 16th or they will charge me more. On the estimates on this phase completely false as well, they they were charging me a binding fee or origin destination fee os $2,000 and magically now is $3,000. I call to ask why and the answer was because I had included 7 plastic bins containers and 2 kids bikes, so I told that rude lady that just speaks loud and don't hear reasons that they didn't pick up the 7 bins nor the bikes so it is not true and they didn't ask for authorization to increase that value or explained to me.

This has been the worst experience that I ever had in my life with a supplier, stay away from this company, the OTHER REVIEWS HAS BEEN MADE BY THEM.

“Weirdo” and “crumb” is what they call their customers

I have been speaking with one of your representatives and inquiring about you guys helping with our move. I have spoken with him already and today he sent me a text at a busy time. You can just read what was said. I was trying to read his text he sent this morning while unlocking my apartment and dealing with two kids and I accidentally sent hit a “haha” react because I have a iPhone. These accidents happen a lot but this is what your associate sent me immediately instead of approaching the matter in a better way.

I’m sorry your associate was rude and immature and I would not like to do business with you all.

Do not use!

Do not use Navistar! When I spoke with them to receive my quote I was really hopeful. They gave the best quote and the rep was very friendly and helpful. I gave them the details of the move and explained I had to be out no later than 7/31. I could do earlier but no later than that date. They said that was no problem and we got everything set up to have my move out date set up for that date, or so I thought. READ YOUR CONTRACT. Little did I know they slipped into my contract that my pick up date would be 7/31 or 8/1 until I received a phone call stating I was on schedule for pick up being on 8/1. When I explained to them that this was not what I discussed and I needed to be out no later than 7/31 they told me too bad my contract had been signed and I had agreed to a pickup of 8/1. So I was stuck with moving out later than I was supposed to be and had to tell my renters they could not move in until 8/1.

Then came the day I was was supposed to have Navistar show up. I was told they would be here anywhere between 8 am and 12 pm and they would call 30 mins prior to arriving. So I waited and waited and waited all morning on 8/1. I never received a phone call, a message and they never showed up. So I called the company to find out where my moving truck was. Customer service said that the truck had already moved on because they had tried to call me and I hadn’t answered so now I would have to wait for a new truck to come between 8/2 and 8/4. I told them I never received any phone call, message and they never came by they house as I had been there all day and I could show them my phone log. They said too bad the truck was already gone and I would have to wait. I explained that I was supposed to be out of the house the day prior and could not wait several more days just because their driver didn’t come. Again they said too bad and they would have to reschedule me. They broke their contract and I’m the one who’s screwed. I have no moving van, can’t get refunded and can’t have my new renters move in.

They won’t even try to get a truck sent today. Don’t use them!!

Scam! Reviews on great service are bots and fake! These are brokers

Run they are amazing when they want your business. Do yourself a favor and filter the reviews on google to the least star reviews, the truth is there!

Let’s start with the contract, please read every part of it thoroughly! Ethan was my sales person who took account of every single item I was taking. Room furniture a living room and 30 boxes! They quoted me and advised they were the moving company themselves!

Surprise day of move I was moved by stop and move company. Secondary company!!! Stop and move advised the quoted amount wasn’t enough and needed $3000 more. The driver stated he has had this issue with Navistar before.

I was in tears i repeatedly called until someone answered which wasn’t an issue when they took my money. I was advised to stop calling and sent to customer care.

Michelle answered, stating my fault even though they (navistar) noted a complete inventory of my items contract attached! She basically stated take the quote or wait for a refund of my $1500 down payment! Well I had no choice as I had to move by that date!

I called after finally settling in(items delivered by a third party)!!spoke to Michelle which is extremely rude and she began saying the contract didn’t say a couch which I advised her to look at the original contract with the same pricing which her rebuttal was oh well we advised its an estimate, same tone of no concern or care! Once I stated I was recording her and her horrible service she ended the call and sent a email, attached

Please avoid this company!
