Top notch.

Finding myself in a bind I contacted via telephone. Moving day came and although I did have to call to find out an ETA, my call was answered and the truck with a crew of 3 arrived. Rather than going into everything that was completed well, my goods were either blanket wrapped, stretch wrapped and put onto their truck and unloaded and put into a storage locker with VERY little room left over, the crew departed 5 hours later leaving me a very satisfied client..

Worst movers.

I moved from glenwood Windsor to LaSalle and this MOST unprofessional mover fleeced me for thousand extra dollar by wasting lot of time Three workers were simply arguing and instead of packing busy in talking with family people most of the time. Except one rest two were highly unprofessional in actions. They charged for hours but wasted my time because they had no packing supplies. Two of them went to do shopping during time charged to me.
I will strongly suggest not to entertain this mover at all. They are limpets eat on others.

Worst Move Ever.

Cost over $2200. Worst ever experience. Guys just dumped stuff. Putting furniture upside in our new place. Sideboards placed sideways. Drawers not inserted. Furniture dismantled. Place looked like a war zone. Paid for 2 trucks, but they brought the second small sized and so had to make second trip costing more money and time. Terrible Terrible. Do NOT TOUCH THEM WITH A BARGE POLE! And took away our brand new dolly. Asked them to return. Still haven't heard back.

100% Scam.

They deserve a ZERO.

I thought I hired a company called Two Men with a moving truck in Toronto. Now I know the legal name is Metropolitan Movers. I have never been so upset over a move in my entire life.
I have moved in and out of over 5 apartments/houses in the last 10 years and have NEVER experienced a move so frustrating, unsettling, and expensive. These guys are NOT the amazing company TWO MEN AND A TRUCK (who I have used before and are incredible movers). Metropolitan Movers have a franchise in Toronto called TWO MEN WITH A MOVING TRUCK and they are capitalizing on people getting confused like I did.

It took 2 Men 6 hours to move only a mattress, Frame, box spring, heavy cabinet, and a headboard from an apartment to a house (Taking into account 45mins travel time). We spent about an hour and a half trying to get a fridge out the door and once I realized the major delay it was causing we decided to just leave it. They don’t measure doorways, they have no supplies, they “forget” their tools in the truck and have to run back and forth to get it. At one point they dropped the drill bits all over the floor and spent half an hour picking them up one at a time and placing it back into the case, while the other worker stood there and did nothing. I swear it was dropped on purpose.

They were obviously very inexperienced and instructed to waste time as much as they could. They delay work at every single step intentionally to rack up hours. If there’s any discrepancy with the job (like they claimed their boss did not tell them they had to move a fridge downstairs) they stop work and talk in circles endlessly to waste time and call the boss who never answers then they have to edit the service agreement and have me resign everything etc etc.
At certain points I was scared they were going to hurt me for speaking up when I noticed ways they could be more productive (like I suggested one guy does one job and the other guy does something else instead of standing around watching and barking orders). The one guy was very combative while the other younger kid took a softer approach. It was a total setup.

They would take one thing In each hand up and down an elevator one at a time instead of boxing it up or filling the elevator once and going down. One guy would stand around doing absolutely NOTHING because he was angry about me speaking up or “stressing him out”. He told me I was lucky he wasn’t walking around smoking cigarettes or taking breaks!
They wouldn’t work unless payment for the entire job was paid in full (minus tax) at the the halfway mark. They made me pay it or they wouldn’t drive to the new location, so I sent an email transfer Because at that point I Was scared and didn't want them having my credit card info. We would then have to wait for the “boss” to confirm he had received the money until they would start the truck and move on. The boss wouldn't answer the phone for 15-20 mins to delay us even further. Then they told me to go just get cash and then they could start the truck instead of waiting for the etransfer to post and the boss to finally answer his phone. Like as if I’m going to give them over 1,000 in cash and a truckfull of my stuff and let them drive off? Especially when their service agreement says they aren’t responsible for items that “mysteriously disappear”.
They use all kinds of delay tactics to get you to rack up hours, bottom line. They always told me to “call the boss” if I had issues With their work and when I didn’t call and just said “ok keep going it’s fine” one of them would walk away from the job and get on the phone speaking Russian for 10 minutes then come back and spend another 20 minutes fighting with me about having to sign more paperwork about No liability for damages and this or that. It was a terrible experience overall and left me in tears. I’m happy they don’t know where I live since I only moved items from one friends to another’s, I got the feeling they are dangerous. I was shaking at times I was so unsettled by their conduct.
Curiously enough, it only took them 20 mins to unload the items into my friends garage once the 6
Hours had been used up and full payment was made. I spent about 3 times what it should have cost me.

Never use this company ever! They operate under different names but the legal company name is Metropolitan Movers when they make you sign your service agreement. If you see that name, tell them to leave and don’t sign a thing!

These guys are amateurs and butchers.

I moved with these guys a few months ago. I had very little to move as I ordered all new furniture. They moved 2 televisions, computer desk and a mattress set and a few pieces of furniture,. The majority were boxes. They arrived on time and all was good
until I reached my new home and I waited and waited till I received a call that they could not find the location. They told me they had a mishap on the way. They hit a rough patch of road and my computer desk and hutch broke in 20 pieces. They gave me a decent credit and after they left I noticed one TV screen (50")was distorted by objects hitting it and my other TV (60") was scratched and damaged in many places. I did not find out for a few weeks about the destroyed TV because I was waiting for a company to set up furniture in a spare room I was using for a den. They refused to do anything so I am in the process of suing this company. All the addresses they use are fictitious. There is no one at these locations. STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS !!

Grossly over billed from Quote - Physically threatened Female Staff.

I am writing to report an incident with the Edmonton Branch of Metropolitan Movers involving being grossly overbilled for a small move and the movers themselves acting physically threatening to our female staff.

We had hired them to move our office (approx. 800 square feet, 20 pieces of furniture and about 50 boxes) 4 blocks away to a new location. We received a quote for 3 hours, for 3 movers at $150 per hour. As well as an additional cost of $45 to move our photocopier. In total, we expected to be billed between $600-$750 dollars.

On the day of the move, the mover in charge told us it was his first day on the job and openly admitted to not having much moving experience. Partway through loading the truck, a fourth mover showed up that we found out they started billing us for. Through the loading process the movers would sit in their truck for close to half an hour (racking up billable time) before coming to the office for the next load. It took them close to 6 hours to load up the small office mentioned above.

When they arrived at the new office, again, they would take 20-30 minute breaks in between bringing loads up to the office of complete inactivity (racking up billable time.) We tried multiple times to reach the owner during this process to express our concerns about the ongoing delays with no response.

The move (of one 800sf office with less than a truckload of items, 4 blocks total distance) concluded at close to 9pm. At the conclusion of the move our staff refused to sign the final work order and instead insisted that we speak to the company owner to express our concerns. At that time the movers PHYSICALLY THREATENED OUR FEMALE STAFF by blocking their ability to walk down hallways, physically imposing themselves in their personal space, yelling, and trying to physically trap them in cornered areas. Our ladies were very distressed and were only allowed to leave after they said they would call the police.

We attempted to call the owner of the company multiple times to discuss these issues with no response, 2 days later $2100 was billed to our credit card and to date we have received no response whatsoever from the owner of the company.

My worst move ever.

It took 3 men 9 hours to move one truckload to a one bdrm apt. only one block away because they wasted time, and goofed around and did not use their hand carts to move boxes, extremely slow.
Blatant disrespect for a customer who is paying by the hour.
Furniture and other belongings were damaged due to their carelessness. Company does not respond to complaint or request for refund. I believe their website is very misleading.

Scam company.

Had to cancel our move and they tried to charge me a penalty fee for 2 trucks 320$ each + tax. This was one weeks notice of cancellation. Then he said I will get charged for one truck and apparently a recording of me agreeing to this which I did not. I also reviewed the contract which does not state any specific day for cancellation. He says over the phone cancellation is a minimum of 7 days notice which is exactly how many I gave him and still said they are charging my card (I gave them over the phone for the deposit). When I called back later they “offered me a 200$ penalty fee”. Every other mover is 48 hour notice. This company just scams people out of money after getting their credit card info.

Awful, non-existent communication or care for customers.

SAVE YOURSELF THE STRESS AND ANXIETY OF USING THIS SERVICE. I've moved around my entire life and I've never worked with such an abysmal moving service with non-existent communication with their customers. My anxiety was through the roof with my local coordinator's indifference to providing me info or following up with me.

- The movers DIDN’T SHOW UP when they were scheduled; the coordinator (Gary) offered no apologies for this when I called asking where they were. He said he’ll call the drivers – I waited about half an hour and he never called back, so I called asking for an update. He said he left them a message (I honestly don’t know what the expectation was here; I suppose he expected I wait around). He then sent me the drivers’ numbers and told me to contact them myself because apparently that's my job, not his?). I rescheduled for the next day and when they arrived, the driver showed me a text message when they were told about my job - which was right after I called asking why they weren't here the previous day.

- I was NEVER TOLD about a deposit I had to pay; I was told AFTER it was already processed.

- When the movers were done, I asked them about next steps, and they said I needed to call Metropolitan Movers as they knew nothing. I did, asking what to expect next; they told me the local coordinator will call me. 5 hours after my things were picked up, I still heard nothing – so I called Gary, asking for next steps, arrival info – he told ME to follow up with HIM (as opposed to the other way around, because again, apparently that's not his job) in a week for a narrowed range.

- I followed up as instructed in a week and Gary was still unprepared. He said he’d call the driver and get back to me. I followed up again as I heard nothing from him, and finally got a “between 27th to the 31st” range.

- I still hadn't heard anything on the 27th. I called Gary a few times around this time range and even up to the day the movers arrived, he went completely MIA - I never heard from him.

For comparison, I worked with several services at the same time – I ordered furniture from different vendors, coordinating with my new building manager, and a furniture donation organization. These services followed up with me, called/sent me a message when they were on the way, and followed up to close things off after. All these services went smoothly and I wasn’t getting anything close to this with Metropolitan Movers and they were 90% of why my move was extremely stressful. The profoundly awful communication made it incredibly difficult to coordinate ANYTHING on my end - when I should move out of my temporary housing, what I should tell my building coordinator about my move-in..

The local coordinator Gary obviously didn’t give a crap about my move, hence why he completely disappeared on me. Even calling "head office", their answer was always the same: "I'll tell Gary to call you" and never did. It was difficult getting "head office" to even pick up. They never took the initiative to ever follow up at any point during the process – no follow-ups to provide basic info, updates, or what to expect.

Friends, peers, and colleagues were appalled every time I gave them an update that I had no update and there was no effort at all in keeping me informed. Just so, so awful.

Terrible Movers.

Staff were very nice and were on time. Coordinator was also very available. Other than that, I wish I could say something positive about this company. Excruciatingly slow. Packers did not communicate with movers, causing so much delay. Terrible packing. I had to tell them to wrap everything and to write down content/room on each box. Movers fought in public. OMG so slow. Almost seemed like the movers did not want to work. No masks. No floor covering. We paid $2500 and honestly this move was not worth more than $1000. So much time wastage and zero accountability. On purpose they would go 1 or 2 minutes over the hour and charge an extra 1/2 hour. Just terrible. Do yourself a favour and call any other company. Can't see how a moving company can get any worse.

Worst move of my life

This move happened back at the end of August, but I'm writing this review now since my partner already wrote his own and I wanted to add my own take.

So first off, we hired Metropolitan Movers, but they - without our knowledge - hired two unprepared guys from Maple Green Moving instead.

Day of, two guys show up who are very obviously stoned out of their minds - especially the one. The one guy in the first half of the move was completely incompetent, spending most of his time standing around looking to the other guy to be told what to do. We kept telling them what NOT to move (since we lived with my sister at the time, we obviously didn't want to take her things too) and they kept forgetting even though we JUST told them less than 5 minutes prior. We had to run out to the truck and retrieve some of her stuff from them. This happened TWICE.

The move itself took WAY longer than it should have, and that's partly because of the movers themselves that were hired. My partner himself started helping them and acted as the third mover - and he legitimately was far more competent than the two of them.

Just before we leave, My partner's old desk had broken (not the mover's fault, it was already falling apart) so we asked if we could dispose of it at our new place since our new place offered an area for dumped furniture. Instead of listening to us, they took it and dumped it at our current building which was NOT allowed. Because my partner was caught on camera standing by the truck while they did that, our building manager came after us afterwards and threatened my partner with charges if the landlord saw fit after seeing him on the camera.

After that hell, we finally start heading over to our new place. (which is about 10-15 minutes down the road, by the way) The movers head out first, and my partner and I order an uber. We both get there 10-15 minutes before they do... When they did get here, my partner said he saw them just chilling in the truck having a smoke - probably getting high again since they burnt out after taking so long just to put our things into a truck. ? They were at the very least smoking a joint BEFORE heading off to the new apartment - My partner witnessed this, and we know it was marijuana because they commented on it. Not only getting high on the job, but also getting high and driving. Cool.

First person to bring something into our new place is - shocker - my partner! With a whole loveseat, by himself. He hustled SO hard, constantly back and forth with boxes, furniture, etc. One of the guys started helping more, while the other started taking it easy and was just (very slowly) taking furniture and boxes out of the truck while my partner and the other guy did most of the work.

During this painful process the new door got scratched up quite a bit and the floors were scuffed and filthy. Some of the furniture ended up chipped in several spots and scratched up - especially our freezer - which we did list prior as an appliance, and now sits off balance because an entire foot is missing. By the time everything was done it had been approx 6 hours. Our total came to $800... Then when my partner signed the papers for payment he noticed they were a completely different company? They mentioned they were something like a side branch that were contracted - "Maple Green Moving and Logistics", and that they were told they were just doing a "student move", which definitely wasn't the case. I should also mention that they nearly left with several pieces of furniture of ours and thankfully we realized last second before they took off. They also left us with a couple bags of straight up GARBAGE from their truck that was likely never cleaned out from a previous move. I'm sure they didn't know but it's still disgusting and inexcusable.

Time skip to recently where my partner and I expressed our upset with our movers to several family and friends who all told us to try to get some money back as compensation. My partner called Metropolitan Movers MANY times, and after a while they NEVER answered him. Initially when he filed a complaint they said they'd get back to him in 10-14 days (why does it take that long?) so we waited, but nothing happened well after 14 days. We called again a few more times. We realized they blocked his number or just purposefully ignored it and refused to deal with our case, and we know this because immediately after calling from his phone with no answer, he called with mine and they picked up. He was told he'd be called back tomorrow morning (today) and to no one's surprise, there was no call. This was the worst move I've ever had in my life, and I've moved many times. This experience was an absolute nightmare. You'd be better off asking complete strangers off the street for help.

Hi Maddison,
We are sorry to hear you did not have a pleasant experience with the moving service provided to you. For all complaints, we require an email and images of any damages within 3 days after the day of the move. The company you are referring to is our sister company that provides service in the London area. You can read more about the details of our policy in our terms and conditions on the website or the email sent to you with the confirmation order. As per smoking on the job, this is by no means acceptable and internal measures will be taken. We appreciate your feedback and wish you all the best in your new home.

Dishonest & unethical

I have a current complaint in with the BBB. PLEASE check the company background before hiring this franchise. Oleg, Anar & Mary are the company employees I dealt with through my complaint. They were charged to move a partially furnished townhouse, no living room & disassembled dining room. Between several calls throughout the day seeking help for 2 movers they sent who were unfortunately too inexperienced for the job & didn’t pack the truck right, throwing my belongings all over to leaving me stranded late at night with part of my furniture left outside mid November! They didn’t assemble the beds for us to sleep on as promised. To add insult to injury when I was at the worst of exhaustion after almost 16 hours of moving, yes! You read that right! Almost 16 hours to move a partially furnished townhouse! feeding the movers meals & coffee breaks as well as tipping them & hearing them tell me over & over that this company does these horrible things all the time to their customers! I had a mind to refuse payment & would only agree to settle after I could review everything in the coming days. The movers called a manager named Anar who at the top of his lungs verbally abused me using disgusting language! These people are shameful. Their response to my complaint on the BBB was to continue to blame me for the bad move. Oleg writes in his BBB response that I am looking to somehow get away with something. They will do everything to twist the truth. Oleg sent me a communication via email confirming the poor service & they will use my feedback to learn & better train in the future. This company thinks they can make idiots out of customers. I have documented each interaction. Text messages, photos & emails. Oleg refused to provide me with their commercial insurance. He alone acted as the insurance & refused my damage claim. He then tried to convince me to pay more as that would be the only way they could review a claim. As I said they look to treat clients as idiots & twist the truth. Please see the BBB reviews. The BBB has a confirmation on Metropolitan movers from 2018 that they are using a non compliant agreement with customers that they continue to distribute. I will continue to put these posts out there! If it saves anyone from going through what I did and what others are saying then we have done the right thing! I will not stop & take matters further to go public & display the shameful documented interactions with this franchise!

The worst

Where to begin? This was the worst experience I had with a move ever. They took 6 hours to do a 2-bedroom condo moving, with everything already packed and ready to go. The last company that I've used made the same move within 2 hours, with time to spare). The movers were super slow, not wearing a uniform, not wearing gloves, forgot to bring the mattress cover, and they spend the whole time horsing around and talking on the phone in a foreign language. They then destroyed a baseboard at my building (which I had to pay and refused to refund). And then they ripped my new office chair, and of course, refused to repay). And then they took a 1:30h lunch and CHARGED ME for this time. You can always expect some wear and tear on any move, but almost every single piece of furniture got damaged. And then the absurd charge: $750 (Which they tried to get in cash not to pay any taxes). Never again!

DO NOT USE THESE MOVERS

DO NOT HIRE THESE MOVERS

Warning! This is a long review but well worth a read as we are not disgruntled or upset by the experience but rather full-heartedly don’t want anyone else to go through what we went through.

We hired Metropolitain Movers to move my elderly parents from 2 separate residences to a shared apartment with one other stop involved. So while they had few possessions there were 3 stops involved in this move. We were quoted $800 for a truck and $150 per hour with an estimate of 7 hours. So here is what we experienced:

The Crew:

Two young men showed up as per contract. Although they showed up 2 hours late, making our timing to the booked elevators at a location unavailable for use. Unfortunately, they weren’t trained and had little expertise in moving. They didn’t know how to back the truck into places. They did not wear botties in the house, did not have any runners to protect the floor and didn’t even offer to wear masks (covid). Both commented on how much they hated management and were quitting (one the next day and one the next week)

The Truck:

The truck was a rusted pile of metal and apparently broke down requiring maintenance. Something was leaking inside and many of our boxes were wet when delivered. It was also much larger than we’d requested.

The move itself got off on a wrong foot with the late arrival and went downhill from there. They didn’t protect the furniture resulting in scratches and dents in many pieces of furniture (see photos). The worst thing was the travel time between places. The first stop was in St Catharines, the second in Alliston. It took them over 3 hours to get to Alliston (normal time is 1.5 hrs) Their excuse was they had to get gas and maintenance on the truck. They also said that they didn’t have roaming on their phones, so they couldn’t use GPS to map our addresses and had to rely on paper maps. Because we knew they elevator wouldn’t be available to them once they arrived, because they were running so late, my brother and nephew ended up bringing all the items down to a loading dock so the movers ended up just having to carry them into the truck. It then took over 3 hours to arrive in Cobourg (2 hr drive) where it was now dark because we were so behind schedule. There were no lights in the truck so we gave them flashlights and outdoor lights so they could see. Had they backed the truck in, they could have benefited from the house lights but they didn’t know how to do that. Again, because they were so late, we ended up moving everything in the house to the driveway so that when they arrived, they could just load the truck. While all this was happening I had to place many calls to the superintendent of the new home where he was sticking around to get the elevator on service for us. We finally arrived at the new home at 10p.m. (we were originally to be there for 3 pm) Again, we ended up moving all the boxes and furniture from the truck to the apartment. We are middle-aged people and the reason we hired movers was to avoid having to lift things!

The kicker was at the end of the move when they wanted payment for 12 hours of work. We said we were not comfortable paying for the extra travel time (getting lost) and time to fix the truck. The crew manager, Vlad was not accommodating at all, made no apologies and my husband, who was having this conversation with him past midnight, finally said we were done and we’d call him in the morning. My husband did that and we generously paid for 10 hours even though I still feel we should have been compensated more as we did most of the work. We also spoke to customer service, Edward, during the move itself and received no apology, offer of support or explanation for why things happened as they did. I am dumbfounded that this company gets the reviews online that it does – my only guess is that they generate them themselves. I did my research and I was initially fooled because the booking team, Clarise in particular seems so organized and accommodating.

I’ve moved a lot and I know a lot can go wrong, but what made this move so stressful in particular was the unapologetic nature of the employees and their lack of professionalism and care for customers

Excellent Service.

We hired Metropolitan Movers in late June for our move about 45 minutes away. This was my first time using professional movers and I was a little apprehensive, but everything went off perfectly, and I was very happy I hired movers. They were on time, professional, came out to give us a free quote and provide loaner totes and wardrobe boxes. They were polite, helpful, fast, and quick at their work. Items were well packed and handled carefully. Would recommend them in a second and without any reservations!

Shake down on moving day.

This is not a moving company - they contract to other third party movers in your city and misrepresent themselves!! Obtained a quote for a 3 bedroom house move, working with the company online and over the phone. Disclosed that we had alot of heave items including 6 big screen tv's. Was told only extra charge would be for washer/dryer and gym equipment and two movers is all that would be needed. On the day of the move, three movers showed up at my door and I was informed that there would be an additional $40/ hour charge because I had so much stuff. I had committed to moving that day and was forced to agree to the terms. I decided to argue the charge with MEtropolitan as these guys were NOT Metroplitan movers but a sub-contracted company representing them. Of the three movers, only one was experienced and continually corrected the other two on how to properly pick up and load items which added considerable time to the move compared to an experienced team use to moving people. They were very nice guys but not the quality I would have expected - it was like having inexperienced friends help me move. The move took eleven hours and two trips to the new house that is not even five minutes away even though I had dissassembled the bedroom and living hardware to speed the process. We did not take many items that I will move now on my own.. the house is far from empty. By comparison, a close friend had also planned a move that day with a five bedroom house and utilized just her family and a couple of close friends. Their new house is a 45 minute drive from the old and they still completed the move just over ten hours, making two trips. While the crew was punctual and easy to work with, this was not the service I expected and Metro movers has declined to acknowledge any fault. I would not recommend using this shady company for anything.

Stolen items.

I had used this company 2 weeks ago for my move in Calgary - they got the their truck stuck in the alley and had charged me for their time to try to get unstuck.  My neighbor was kind enough to lend them shovels, ice picks, gravel, and wood to try to get their truck out of the snow - they had promised to return the items to her and they did not do that - they took advantage of her kindness and stole her stuff.  When I tried to contact the company they repeatedly told me someone would contact me about this and they still have yet to return my call or my email.  I would stay away from this company as they are completely unprofessional.  If they cared about their clients they would have the decency to respond to this claim and pay for the replacement of those items.

Worst Movers Ever! Incompetent and Dishonest!

Worst Movers Ever! Not only did they not fit all our stuff on the truck and left 4 feet of empty space across the entire 24 feet of the truck, which meant we had to rent a UHaul and move the rest of ourselves another day with a newborn -- next to impossible, but also they dissappeared for 5 hours which meant our moving day was much longer than it needed to be -- again, not ideal with a newborn.

They double-booked in order to make money off the truck but becuase of that they were rushing. I had asked for help packing -- it's very hard to pack up everything with a small baby, and the stuff they did pack they threw hastily into a box and I had to repack to ensure no damages. Unfortunately while I was nursing, they packed up an area I specifically asked them not to pack, but only noticed after they had finished moving that portion of the house that they had packed it regardless of my instructions -- now a very sentimental and expensive item is missing. I asked the movers directly if they had seen it and they denied it.

So, not only did they improperly pack my items, improperly pack the truck, steal an invaluable item, but they double-booked, got lost, and dissappeared for 5 hours -- they had my baby's bed, which means, I couldn't put her to bed until they finally arrived.

I've hired many professional movers and I went with Metropolitan Movers/ Ottawa Movers becuase of the high rating and level of credibility -- I was so disappointed. They were rude, barely understood my instructions, were incompetent, lied to me to get me to pay cash, and asked me to lie to their bosses about how many hours it took them so they could steal from their bosses. The movers and the company continue to refuse to provide me with a proper invoice -- all because I paid cash because the movers told me we had to as it was so late at night when they finished, they claimed the office was closed.

They also claimed they were moving quickly to benefit us, but because of their hasty job, we had to pay the extra money for a truck rental and then it took us 2 more full days of moving ourselves (you try moving with a baby) to finally finish the job -- especially because of the 2 hours of driving tagged onto the move (1 hour each way).

DO NOT GO WITH THIS MOVING COMPANY IF YOU WANT THE JOB DONE EVEN REMOTELY CORRECT -- THEY SCREWED UP EVERY ASPECT OF MOVING!

Disappointed.

These are the worse people to deal with. I moved with them Jan/2014 and since then I am still waiting to get things resolved. They broke a glass on my cabinet and they broke one of my tables leg. They were not honest enough to tell me, so what these unprofessionals did was tape the leg of my table back together. We have emailed them countless times and endless phone calls and still today July/2014, no news yet.  Please trust me do not bother with these unprofessional dishonest people.

Cancenlled.

The lady on the phone told me they had storage facilities in my city. They were suppose to come to move me on the 19th of July and on Tuesday at 8:55 P.M.  I got a call from the mover telling me that they were overbooked and couldn't do the move between 8 & 9 am. He informed me that they would be here in the afternoon sometime.  Well that just did not work for me. The mover wanted me to move on the previous Friday and I said that couldn't happen as I didn't get the keys then. I thought I would have to put my stuff in storage and the fellow informed me that my stuff would have to travel to Winnipeg instead of my city and that I would be charged mileage to and back from Winnipeg.  Well that did not cut it in my books. When I sent an email to the company the next morning complaining about this performance the  moving specialist informed me that head office would contact me.  Well that did not happen until after lunch.  How can one rely on this type of service. I was informed when I called this company to inquire about moving me they told me that if I cancelled there was a $300.00 fee.  They asked for my credit card so I gave them the number, then they wanted the number on the back of the card and I wouldn't give it to her.  I called the visa company and told them not to put any bill throught for this company. Head office informed me that there would be not charge as it was their mistake.  He apologized which doesn't help me at all. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO MOVE ANYTHING.

Poor Time Management & customer service.

I recently hired Metropolitan Movers for my move on Friday July 4, 2014. I have never hired a moving company before and had always moved with thehelp of friends and a rental truck. I looked up a website that ratedmoving companies and saw that Metropolitan Movers was very well rated with impressive testimonies.  I feel greatly disappointed with the service I received in comparison. Ihad explained when I arranged the moving services that my Husband and I had recently moved back from Australia and were moving our belongings that were in storage in the basement of our In-laws home and being moved into our two bedroom townhouse. There were no appliances being moved; just a king sized bed, couch, kitchen table & chairs and a lot of boxes/tools.  On the day of the move the movers were very prompt and protected thefloors with  fabric runners. We explained what items needed to bepacked. They started at 9am. My husband then went to work while my Inlaws and I were present. I left to go to the townhouse before the movers were done at 11am. The moving truck arrived at 1pm and my brother was present to keep me company. The movers announced that they had another job in Okotoks that started at 3pm and they would have to leave by 2pm. Considering it took 4 hours to load the truck it seemed very unlikelythat they would unload and reassemble the furniture in 1 hour. I came up to the truck to help move things along by looking at the items and telling where they should go. I took a box with me into the garage to show them where most of the boxes could be place and I turned around to see my brother being handed a box. One of the movers then said that "4 people are faster than 2 and they needed to get going to the next job". I felt that I was in a very difficult situation as the movers seemedexhausted and were expecting my help. However, the whole reason I hired your moving company was so that I wasn't moving boxes. My brother and I ended up helping unload the entire truck. At some points we would come out of the house to see one of the movers standing beside the truck and smoking near my belongings! One mover stayed in the truck and moved items forward to be collected and the other mover carried items to the house with my brother and I. I understand that we had a king size mattress that is difficult to move with only two people and had no problem helping with that specific item; but at no point were any straps or lifts used to assist. At the end of the job (2:45pm) I paid the full amount because I felt very rushed by the movers since they had to go to their next job. I briefly mentioned that my brother and I had to help unload the wholetruck in the comments section. I mentioned this to my husband as well as other people who have used movers before and was told that this was completely unacceptable. I should not have had to help the movers do their job while still paying $110/hr. I feel like the company did not allocate an appropriate amount of time for the movers to successfully complete their job and I feel it was inappropriate for the movers to put me in the difficult situation whereI was made to feel that I had to help them with unloading the entire truck. When I submitted my formal complaint to the customer service of Metropolitan Movers it was passed onto Patrick, the guy in charge of the move that day and I was simply told that there was nothing wrong with what they did that day. The customer service and response to complaints was of very poor quality.

Worst company.

This company didn't show in the time that I was told, they also didn't phone and I had to. Was told they would phone me back, had to wait 20 min to receive a call then was told the truck broke so I asked when they could come, they said they would phone me to let me know. I waited another 20 min before deciding to phone them back and was told they couldn't get a hold of anyone so they would have to once again phone me back. Over an hour later they phoned and told me they could come a week later to move my stuff. I booked them to move me when I did because I needed to be out, if I could have moved a week later I would have, not sure how many people pack all their stuff up to be moved and then can wait a week for movers. I'm not one of them I had everything all boxed up and ready to go for the movers. Horrible customer service and horrible company. Spend the extra money to get a better company or just do it your self that's what I had to do.

Best moving experince.

I was referred to this company by a friend, so I had to take a look. After reading some reviews I was about to change my mind, but then talked to the customer service representative and we agreed on the terms and price, I could not reject the offer because it was the best offer I got after calling over 6 moving companies in the area. I do not know what happened with other customers, but from my experience they are the best moving company in Canada. Everything was good they arrived a little early but that wasn't a problem and delivery was on time, nothing damaged, staff was professional and neat, overall it was an excellent experience, nicely done. Thank you.
