Long-distance move from Rochester, NY to Flagstaff, AZ

DO NOT USE!!

This is the worst company ever! Used them to move cross country. They sub contracted with a crew from NJ which they never informed me of. Movers were supposed to arrive in 5 days-disappeared for 3 weeks!! When I contacted Mega Vans-they told me subcontractors were involved and "used" to be a good company, had no idea where my items were and no way of contacting movers. Movers arrived 3 weeks later, told me I had to pay 3X what original contract was of they were taking my items. Had to get police involved. When I finally had items delivered, half of my stuff was either broken of missing, Made numerous attempts to contact Mega Van Lines and pretty sure they blocked my number as I could never get through. STAY VERY CLEAR OF THEM!!

Moving Company.

Mega van lines blew me away. Couple of years back when moving from Youngstown Ohio, I hires a moving company and they ended up breaking many antiques I had stores in my garage for years.

This company couldn’t be more different. They wrapped up everything individually. Had three movers there for the price of 2. Were on time. Excellent service. And it was easy to set up!

Long-distance move from Dover, DE to Birmingham, AL

A stress-free move.

I was worried at first when I called because I was giving such short notice on a move. However I was assured that I was going to be taken care of - and they did not disappoint. The price was GREAT.. the staff who took my move over the phone was a joy to speak with.. I am shocked to say nothing went wrong ! Even when I called back to change some details the phone agent was very friendly. The best part about all of this is that everything I brought with me was cared for as everything arrived intact ! Thank you Mega Van Lines ..

On time, honest, upfront, speedy delivery.

I hardly ever write reviews, but I think that the long distance moving field, and choosing a company can be a very confusing thing to have to do. Initially, I contacted 4 moving companies who were extremely sales-y, pushy and rushing me to book. I was extremely turned off. Then I found Mega and was ecstatic because they made the process so easy. From my first call with them to booking I was please with not only the patience of the representative, but the finance department as well. After my reservation with Mega Van Lines I was well informed, confident, and at ease about this last minute cross country move I was making. I expected SOME type of hidden fee but there were NONE! Emphasis on no hidden charges upon delivery. My furniture arrived earlier then my scheduled delivery date and my furniture was in perfect condition. There is nothing scarier then putting all of your life's belongings in someone else's hands, but I was OVERLY ecstatic by the mover professionalism, and job overall. Mega Van lines is now my families go to moving company. I highly recommend.

Long-distance move from Denver, CO to Chicago, IL

Could not have asked for better.

2 weeks ago I had to look for a moving company since I had too much stuff to load and travel with myself. I spent an entire day talking to the "big names" and I felt I could do better. So the next day I contacted Mega Van Lines, and im mad at myself for not doing it sooner. The representative I spoke with was so pleasant to speak with, and the "big names" I spoke with had a price so much more money. I thought it being so much less inexpensive that I was going to trade quality for value, but was I wrong. all of my belongings with packed with care, and everything arrived to my new home the same way it left, NOT BROKEN! If you are looking for a company to take care of your move, look no further.

Long-distance move from District Heights, MD to Fort Leonard Wood, MO

Excellent service.

Had to take the time to write a review because moving has always been a terrible experience for me. Look no further people, seriously. Mega Van Lines got my house moved in 48 hours. I could not believe the punctuality, professionalism, and up front honesty I got from each person I spoke with. Moving doesn’t have to be a hassle for my family or my friends. I’ve recommended them once in the past month and our military friends (we move a lot) had the same experience.

We have added these guys to our list of who we send Holiday cards to every year, we’re grateful!

Long-distance move from Florida to New York

Mega good job.

I’m a single mom who moved from Long Island to Florida.

I put my information in online and I was initially annoyed because I got a million calls. Finally I spoke to someone at Mega Van Lines.

They got me a really great deal, but also warned me this is not the industry in which you want to go with the cheapest price.

They were honest with me about delivery windows, my delivery took about 4 days from NY to FL. They estimated anywhere from 2-7 for my load and route in particular.

I heard all sorts of stories especially from their competition regarding price gouging and that my price would go up the day of pick up- so I was almost nervously anticipating it. This did not happen. The only thing I was charged extra for was a TV box which Mega’s quality assurance warned me would happen if I didn’t have my own- I had just never had a chance to run out and get my own which they did warn me would be cheaper if I did. So that was the only upcharge. Oh and they gave me a four hour window arrival time they said they would arrive between 8-12 and they arrived at 9:30 and called 30 minutes ahead of time so really not bad. I would definitely recommend them again.

Scam! Bait And Switch Operation.

SCAM! Bait and switch scam operation! I hired Mega Van Lines to move me from WV to TN and the move was planned for 6/11 with an arrival of 6/13-6/14. Mega Van Lines gave me a binding estimate of ~$3,600. Under the terms and conditions of the contract, the total cost of my move would not exceed this final binding price. They outsourced my move to PackRite, which I did not find out until the day of my move. The guys arrived 4.5 hours late on 6/11 in a white truck with graffiti on it. They loaded our items and instantly the price doubled! They said the company underestimated the cubic feet of our items, which was an absolute LIE. I had to move immediately so I was left without any alternative at the time. I stressed the importance of my items arriving on 6/13 because I would be starting my new job. The men assured me a delivery date of 6/13 and even wrote "Delivery guaranteed" with the date on my contract. I wrote the company a personal check for $2,000 which they accepted. The driver immediately took a photo of it and sent it to the manager of PackRite named Jen.

The following day, I text the manager of PackRite, Jen, who responded by saying my delivery was now on 6/15-6/16. I called her and she constantly spoke over me during my attempt to discuss the change in dates. I informed her about the delivery guarantee written on my contract and she asked me to send it to her. I sent her a photo of the receipt and she called me back SCREAMING at me and accused me of writing what her driver had in fact written. She followed by saying, "Your SHIT is going into storage and you're never going to see it again" and hung up. I attempted to call back numerous times, but she denied my calls. Eventually I got through to another person and upon attempting to discuss the delivery he said, "F**K YOU. You'll get your shit when your check clears" and hung up. I then called Mega Van Lines and spoke with Eddie, who said he would call to find out what was going on and he promised to call me back, but never did.

For the next 2 days, I called Mega Van Lines and spoke with Eddie on multiple occasions and each time he promised to "get to the bottom of it", but never once returned a phone call. I called and spoke with PackRite who informed me that my items would be delivered by different people and had to be loaded on to another truck first. They provided me with the phone number for my driver named "Pepe", but when I called, he had no idea about my delivery and said he would call me back, but never did. I was given a total of 3 different driver's phone numbers with the same exact result of no information regarding my move. Multiple additional attempts to get answers about my delivery date, location of my items, and driver information was met with no response from Mega Van Lines, Jen, or PackRite.

On 6/15, I called and was informed my delivery would now arrive 6/17-6/18. At this point, I had my attorney reach out to Jen from PackRite and Eddie from MVL. It was requested that Jen be removed as the contact for the remainder of my move and also that my attorney receive daily updates from Eddie regarding the status of my delivery. Neither PackRite nor Mega Van Lines complied with these agreed upon requests. Finally, on 6/19, I received a phone call from Pepe that my items would arrive by 6 pm. They arrived at 9:41 pm, which was almost 4 hours late and told me my money orders were no good and that my original check was not cashed and I needed to pay them that balance in CASH before they would unload the truck. I called the police at this point and they did their best to resolve this hostage situation of my items. I ended up having to go to an ATM to get cash out to finish paying these jokers and they finally agreed to accept my money orders as long as I also gave them the "customer receipt" portion as well, which is illegal. They finished unloading our stuff around 2 AM and did not assemble anything like it states they would do in the contract. Our furniture was damaged and many of our boxes smashed. This company needs to be put out of business!

Long-distance move from New York, NY to Granby, MA

Terrible. do Not Use.

DO NOT USE MEGA VAN LINES. BIG SCAM, VERY DISHONEST. I firmly believe they somehow remove bad reviews from the internet bc when I researched them, there were only glowing ones to be found but now I am amongst many fellow complainers (for now). Here is my story:

I hired them in mid-May to do a move from New York to Massachusetts. They appeared to be very professional and forthcoming and gave me a quote based on the inventory I gave them. The Quality Assurance person I spoke with, "Paul Fountain" (fake name? maybe, idk, can't find him on social media or the internet at all) was way over-friendly and talkative but I went along with it for the sake of trying to make this move pleasant.

The week of the move I finally got myself together to get a more detailed inventory. This more detailed inventory made the price jump $1000. I wasn't happy about it, but figured that was on me for not giving a better inventory at the beginning.

The day of the move, they tell me that the movers will be there between 8am and 1pm. I should note, I couldn't be there because of health issues, so a very kind neighbor was overseeing everything. I was told they would have a truck and uniforms that said PackRite and would call an hour before arrival.

At noon, I had not heard from them, so I texted the foreman and asked what was up. (Pics from these texts are attached). He told me they had an ETA of 2. 2 came and went - nothing. I call, the ETA is pushed back again and again - traffic on the GW Bridge, only able to use certain streets etc used as excuses. Later in the day, 5ish? I get some excuse that the driver of the van had to go switch his van with a coworker's whose newborn daughter was sick - what am I supposed to say to that?

At some point during this I let them know that I live on a street with a police precinct which may be barricaded because of the protests, and told them maybe we should try for another day since they were so late. The foreman said it wouldn't be an issue and that I shouldn't worry about it (later discovered this was because they could charge me more for walking further).

They finally arrive at my house at 8PM - right when the curfew is supposed to start. Big surprise, the cops don't let them down the street. No one is wearing uniforms, the truck does not say PackRite, and the foreman reeks of weed. At that point I had already paid a deposit and wasn't sure when I'd next be able to schedule movers, so I just let them go ahead. My neighbor, rightfully, refused to sign any paperwork, which he had previously been willing to do, because the foreman seemed so sketchy.

So they go pack my stuff and finish at 1AM! The foreman calls me at that time (ONE AM) and tells me that the price has jumped another $1000. I am literally asleep so I couldn't process this, and told him I'd deal with it in the morning and asked him to send me the final receipt as he had said he would. That never happened.

6:50AM the next morning, a different person calls me to tell me they are 10 minutes away with my stuff and I would owe this extra $1k. When they arrive, I try to talk with this guy about what happened, but they are a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT COMPANY so he has no clue. Their receipt is written up completely different than every estimate I had gotten, so it was impossible to compare. Even so, they attested that the inventory did not change. The sudden extra charge was mainly for packing and labor, which I had already paid $400+ for according to the line item in the Mega Van Lines estimate. But because they are, again, a completely different company, they beg ignorance and say that this is THEIR charge for those services, not Mega Van Lines's.

The extra charges were for packing and supplies, a long walk from my house to the van in NYC and extra space in the truck. No one can explain to me why these charges were added despite the fact that *no one* is contesting the contents of my inventory. They knew what I had, and were supposed to estimate based on that. Suddenly my stuff is held hostage because of their "miscalculation"?

So I pay, obviously, because I need my stuff. I've since tried to get my final "binding estimate" from Mega Van Lines and have been studiously ignored. I should have saved it when they sent it to me under a link, but I didn't. Now when I click that same link, all it says is, "Congratulations on your move!" Sketchy AF. I texted the foreman asking for my final receipt the morning things were getting dropped off and suddenly my iMessages were getting sent as texts, aka he blocked me. I emailed my contacts at Mega Van Lines, who had previously been so chatty, nothing.

All in all, yes, I do have my stuff, and most of it is undamaged. They broke three vases and a glass from a set my grandmother gave me and punched two holes in the wall in the building I was moving out of. And for that I had to pay $737 extra on delivery to a company I had been introduced to mere hours earlier. Please don't give them your money.

Scam- Beware.

I guarantee that any good reviews here are fake. These people are scammers. They don't show for the move, they keep your deposit & send you to the shadiest movers you can think of and then the movers hold your items hostage until you pay a huge amount additional. They keep your deposit even though you aren't moving and needed to cancel. I could write a novel. Broker Armondo Blackwell lied through his teeth regarding my move on multiple occasions! Then he texts messages with his photos and his family photos to try to make himself seem less of a dishonest scammer. Then magically when they are supposed to produce something its excuse after excuse from him and his customer service team. DONT use this company! They are brokers that take your money and run. They contract their moves out to very crappy companies who break and steal items. Eddie is the manager but isn't helpful so he passes off his customers. Jackie is supposedly a manager but very unhelpful and rude. I actually referred this company to someone before my move date and she went through hell. Paid extra for a specific date and no one showed and a few days later when they did, multiple items were stolen, the workers were using drugs and many items were broken and then they demanded an additional $2k because the cost Armondo quoted was fake (A tiny one bedroom studio that's no bigger than a largte closet cost $6k!?! Seriously?!) . I needed to cancel my move with them after her issue and because I was no longer moving and can't reach Armondo, the customer service people don't return my calls, I even sent a certified/signature required letter so that I could submit to my bank for a refund and charge back to them. These people are scammers. Russel is supposedly the owner but extremely rude and is fully committed to ripping people off. This isn't a review from someone who is just annoyed and wants to get her money back- this review is written to help protect anyone from using this company. I can not tell you enough how awful and dishonest they are. I am still fighting to get my $1,600 back from them. All the sudden their yelp page is missing so I can't review on there and any feedback I placed on their facebook page was deleted and now they have turned off comments. They also don't allow reviews on their facebook page which is no surprise. They promise good, honest business but are the most dishonest people I have come across, so much so that once I called other moving companies and described what was going on they knew exactly who these people were and what they do to people. Apparently well known scammers and they got me and a friend. Dont give these people a cent of your money, you wont see it again and if they do end up contracting your move it will be with some shady company that has one star ratings and doesn't work within the quotes that Mega Van Lines gives you. 100% scammers. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

DO NOT USE. Deceitful and dishonest.

Do not believe the fake reviews. This company is dishonest and deceitful. Once they take your money they could care less about you or your move. They are a broker that doesn’t actually employ the movers. There is no recourse when the movers don’t show up. Mega doesn’t care because they already got paid. They contract with deceitful, unprofessional, wreck less moving companies. Do not get fooled!! Run away from Mega van lines, don’t walk!!

Long-distance move from Clovis, NM to Fond du Lac, WI

SCAM! Fraud! Dishonest staff !!

I had the worst experience with this company ever. I spoke on the phone with Thomas and Eric. They called themselves brokers. First estimate was $2,999 one month before planned moving to move from NM to WI. Demand to pay 50% on that day by electronic check!. Day before moving the price was erased to $10,989.37 with demand to pay 50% today. They said if I will cancel moving with their company they will not refund me $1,500 that was already paid. Moving was scheduled on August, 15, Movers came to move my belonging on August,16 and they were from Heiza LLC (this is another SCAM moving gang),not from Mega Van Lines. They came on rented Penske vehicle, they tried to extort more and more money from me. Make long story short, Some items of my furniture were damaged and some boxes were simply stolen!! Customer service of Mega Van Lines did not want to talk to me, they said that I need to talk to Heiza LLC because they provided my moving.

I did my review to warn another people that Mega Van Lines, has a schema to defraud people.

Everybody can consider to rent Penske or Uhaul on their own and not to pay $11,000

My belief regarding company's positive review written by the company's people.

Long-distance move from Fort Irwin, CA to Penrose, CO

Don’t use this company.

I went through Mega Van Lines for my move from California to Colorado. Let me say that I have moved every 2-3 years in my adult life and this was, by far, the worst experience I’ve ever had. I was quoted at $7,000, and left a $3K deposit. When they showed up to move they said it would be $11K or I’d lose my deposit. So I paid up $4K with the remaining balance to be paid on the other side of the move. Well, long story short my stuff arrived a week later, in the worst condition. I have a kitchen table and chairs that were purchased from a custom hand woodworker in Germany, and all of the chairs were broken. My dresser was broken. My kid’s dresser looks like someone punched a hole through it. The car tree is trashed. I’m scared to open the boxes with all of my glassware. Be advised that Mega Van Lines is just a broker. They are going to sell your move to someone who doesn’t care about your things. It’s so disrespectful what they did to my stuff. I was also missing several items off of the inventory and I was not home when they delivered and the driver pressured my wife into signing. I paid all of this cash so I’m pretty sure I will never get reimbursed for my missing and broken things, some of which are irreplaceable. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for your move.

P.S. when they tell you that their credit card machines are down it’s a scam. You can dispute credit card charges, as for me, well, they already have my cash and I’m left trying to sit on broken chairs.

Refuses to give refund required by their contract

I signed a contract on July 22 and cancelled on July 23 in the exact manner required by the contract. I contacted the company by phone and email. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The company keeps saying they are reviewing, authorizing, or waiting for approval and will then send me a non-disclosure agreement and they will call me and after I take down any negative reviews (this is the first review I have written) they will send me my refund. But, they never actually send me the non-disclosure agreement or call or send me the refund. I paid a deposit of $810. The move coordinator assured me that their company does the actual moving and is not just a broker of other movers. But, when I realized the contract said they were just brokers, I cancelled the contract. I have provided proof the contract was cancelled on time. In general, under business law, a contract can be cancelled within 3 days. This contract was no different. It said who to send an email to if you wanted to cancel and to state a reason. I sent the email and stated I wanted to cancel because they are a broker and not an actual mover. When I first called to follow up on the refund I was told it would be sent in 14 days. Then when I didn't get the refund, I called again and was told I was too late. After I explained I had already cancelled on time, they then said they had told me it was under review, but actually they had told me it would be sent in 14 days. This company has refused to give me back my deposit even though they are obligated to give it to me under their own contract. It is very sad that I have had this significant amount of money taken away from me unfairly. They respond to my Better Business Bureau complaint, but they don't actually ever do what they say they will do. It is very sad to deal with them.

Worst Experience Ever

DO NOT USE THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY!! This company is a complete professional disaster. Denials of statements in their own emails, tripling the original estimate, moving company they hired showed up 5 days early with no notice. Different moving company came on agreed day but charged an additional $1800 authorized by Mega Van lines who denies involvement. Promised delivery (cross country move) in 7 days. It has now been 7 days past delivery date & no idea of if or when my goods will be delivered. No confirmation of final payment. Mega Van Lines has washed their hands of it & told me to call movers directly and “work it out”. My husband just died and I was forced to move cross country. They have $14,000 of my money and shed responsibility for rest of job. They have caused incalculable stress, a lot of money and no results. Multiple broken promises, disregard of contractual language and callous disregard of customer. Very unprofessional, dishonest and harmful to innocent consumers. They should not be in business.

Long-distance move from Colorado to Florida

Horrible experience

I moved from CO to Florida and even though I used “Mega” van, there never was any “mega” anything. Two days after my original scheduled pick up (after a couple of calls wondering when they would show up), a trailer (the kind of trailer that lawn guys use) showed up to move my 2 bedroom house. I had to leave, throw out, give away so much stuff because it couldn’t fit in the trailer. The stuff that did make it, was so tightly packed that even Rubbermaid totes cracked from the pressure. So much of my contents were crushed. Pretty much every piece of furniture was dinged/damaged. Took more than 3 weeks (many calls on my end, with little follow up) , my stuff finally arrived! Again, no “mega” van, just an old Ryder kind of truck. After unloading, I realized my kitchen table and many other items were no where to be found. That’s because these items didn’t fit in the trailer, they were in the back of a pickup - that was towing the trailer) and an SUV the mover owned. Sure I will never see those things again. Sent email, with photos of damage. Been about 2 weeks, still no follow up.
