Don't use this company

This is one of the worst companies in Florida, they are irresponsible and abusive, they give a price in beginning and end with another, the company that pick up yours things is different, they charge more money, if you don't pay wat they want, they don't do the delivery, they leave yours thing in a warehouse and one third company do final delivery. In all this process they damage yours furniture's

They do not comply with the protocols of the contract, when you call to complain, they don't pick up the phone because they know your number.

Be careful do not business with this company

Avoid at all costs.

Notice that all positive reviewers have only left one review on Google and it’s for Mega Van Lines... that should tell you that they’re fraudulent. MVL was previously known as Load Lock and Roll, they rebranded and reincorporated after they were banned from doing business in the state of California.

Select this company if you love the following:

The fact that Mega Van Lines is not actually a moving company, they are just a broker who contracts the move to other sketchy carriers, e.g, the company actually moving your stuff, that you’re not aware of until after your move is scheduled (Konami was ours, steer clear — they have a huge class action lawsuit against them). Mega Van Lines takes no responsibility for the loss or damage to any of your items, pick up dates, delivery dates, etc

Given that they select sketchy carriers, your items will likely be broken, missing and/or stolen especially if they’re valuable. Our 47” TV and multiple other valuable items vanished.

The salesperson (Andrew Stroncek, likely not his real name) telling you “our contract system is broken so you can’t read the terms and conditions but let’s get this started via verbal agreement.” Later read the contract after the process has started and find out they utterly screw you.

Being misquoted a low price only to find out there are tons of hidden fees which double your cost (we went from $1,800 to $3,500 after all was said and done)

When you call with an issue, no one can handle it for you and the people who “can” are never in the office. Be prepared to call them dozens of times and get no where

Be prepared to be hoodwinked throughout the entire process and for neither Mega Van Lines nor the contracted carrier to take financial responsibility and offer zero recourse.

I would HIGHLY advise against selecting Mega Van Lines or any other moving broker/company for that matter. Just sell the stuff that you don’t have a personal attachment to or move it yourself. It will likely be cheaper and less of a headache.

Avoid!

Do NOT use these moving companies! Mega Van Lines out of Florida (broker) and Mirit Great American Trucking Company (trucker) out of New Jersey. The story is long, so I'll just hit the highlights. I had an initial quote - I wound up spending almost $2000 more than expected, due to their failure to communicate "extra expenses" - like packing tape! Items were broken, some antiques! Sketchy movers - one tried to extort a big tip and another wanted my phone number!! All I can say is Karma is Bitch!! Working on a claim now...Please be careful when choosing moving company!!

Long-distance move from Council, ID to Spokane, WA

Worst Experience

We scheduled a month in advance to have Mega Van Lines move our things from ID-WA. They gave us a 2 day window. To keep this review short I will just provide the highlights. They use many subcontractors, someone to sell you and get a deposit (which they do a great job of and cash that deposit right away), someone to finalize your inventory, then a dispatch center to coordinate your move. The time window and then day changed for our move over and over. We were passed off to various people all with different stories, which turned out to be lies. It is impossible to reach a "supervisor" of any kind. You will constantly be transferred to customer service and then passed around there. We were told our driver was on a job until 2:30 am, then they got a flat and the highway in CA was closed. We were told they were 5 hrs out several days in a row. AND no one ever showed up. Another gem, several times a supposed "driver" would tell us "I am not sure where I am, there are no signs." We were passed from person to person told lie after lie. After a week of this we hired a whole other moving company that was an absolute pleasure to work with. I mean they communicated, showed up and were very professional. WE are struggling to get our deposit back from Mega Van Lines. They ran a digital check on our account a month before the proposed move date...as a "deposit". After their scammy actions we ended up closing our checking account out of fear they would run another check on the account. They are scammers through and through. After we cancelled the "driver" even called us to say "I am 5 hrs out, I got a flat and they shut the hwy in CA" and I had to laugh...that was the lie they told us 2 days prior. No thanks. There are so many options out there and moving is stressful enough. PLEASE do not use this company.

AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!!!

This company is nothing but a scam! They gave me a price to move my furniture for $1800 and I gave then the down payment. They sent some mover other than their company to pick the stuff up. What the mover picked up was EXACTLY what I stated to them when I got the price to move. They picked stuff up then tried to tell me they wanted $5600 more..Then they called me the next day and said it was $2800 more, they made a mistake.I have been trying to get their customer service department to straighten this out to no avail..Their customer service is NON EXISTENT..It is now over 7 weeks since the furniture was picked up and I still have no answers and still have no furniture. They do not follow up on anything and their attitude is that they could care less about straightening out the issue. this company is a SCAM!!! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT USE THEM!!

HORRIBLE MOVERS!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I contracted a move on 1/6 and they did not come until 1/8 at almost 2pm, after promising to be there first thing in the morning as we planned to travel on 1/8. They then had to go empty the truck because they had to put other’s stuff in storage. Once they returned almost 2 hours later, the cost went up over 5k to move my stuff plus they made me pack everything. In addition I was nickel and dimed from everything from long haul, to wrapping pictures to disassembling beds. This was the move from Hell. As retired military, I to know what professional moving looks like and this is anything but. I am filing multiple complaints and getting a lawyer as I have not received my household goods after promise of delivery over 5 times!!!! If you need professionals, this time it. Michelle actually like she was giving me a deal when booking but afterwards you will find out nothing is included. No boxes not disassemble, nothing!!

Liars, cheaters, thiefs and false companies

Would not even rate with 1 star if was option. Quick to take money and be nice, no communication they will not verify any information once they have your entire lifes belongings, memories etc. Given false contact information, will not tell me where my belongings are, now currently 16 days past delivery date and still no contact. Have been hung up on more times than I can count, been told to not call back, been told to quit being ridiculous. I paid over 1 month before I needed the items delivered and had it way planned and still no stuff or any idea where it is or when or if I will see it. Had 2 addresses they were to pick up from and they sent 2 different trucks at same time and I wasn't even home at the one location and they took everything even items specifically marked not to take. Came home to cleaned out place and neighbors said my stuff will most likely be destroyed because of how it was carelessly handled. I can't get any answers and keep getting hung up on or ignored. At this point told it is in a warehouse and will not tell me where. Got multiple invoices with no company logo or anything just says customer care. Have emailed it back and absolutely no replys. Have reported to law enforcement, BBB, attorney general, federal carrier administration and obtaining an attorney. If you value your belongings do not use Mega Van lines as a broker or American relocation services. They even falsified their location was told in California and BBB says possibly Illinois!

Horrible experience!!

Used Mega Van lines to move from Houston to Springdale Arkansas. Had the worst experience ever. They quietly subcontracted the move to US movers. The promised 4-5 day move became a 21+ day ordeal. The customer service was horrible and their supervisor even hung up while I was still talking! The pick up and drop off guys know how to manipulate and siphon off extra bucks as they know you have no choice at that point. Use them at your own peril!

This company was unable to provide service on the agreed dates or for several days more, which forced me to hire a new company at the last minute. PLEASE DONT USE MEGA VAN LINES!!! Here is my story I was called by one of their agents Michelle with an estimate and gave us a good deal so went ahead and paid the deposit. Due to work reasons we ended up not moving so we requested for cancellation and asked for refund. Just HORRIBLE!

Just HORRIBLE! I've moved dozens of times in my life and I've never had an experience as poor as this. After weeks of harassing customer service for answers, they finally informed me today that my items haven't even begun to move yet and its been a month! They tell me that I should call back next week to get more answers... when I express that I'm unhappy with the price now with huge delays they tell me to contact accounting tomorrow because they aren't in the office (Tuesday). Overall this company has no good aspects - unresponsive, unhelpful customer service, price was increased $2k from quote to pick up and my items have been sitting in a warehouse for a month with no movement! What exactly have they done?? like I said, HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE experience. DO NOT USE no matter how nice the sales people are to you... its a bait and switch. Completely unprofessional. If I could retrieve my items myself and find a new company I would... actually I think I'll do that now.

Long-distance move from New York, NY to Stamford, CT

Mega Van Lines breached contract and told us we have to sue them

Mega Van Lines breached contract and left us high and dry on our move three hours after our arrival window on the last moving day of the month on our lease. Someone told us we would get a refund, but we were later told that if we want our money back we have to sue them. They are withholding $1800 of our money, for services they could not provide, and breached contract, and then gave us false confirmation of a refund that later we were told we aren't getting. They are forcing us to take legal action. We do not deserve this, no one does. I have never worked with a company that is so unprofessional. Obviously we were upset that they breached contract. Obviously we were upset that they cancelled on us 3 hours after our arrival window because they hired movers who didn't have proper paperwork. I was literally in hysterical tears. I lived in an apartment building with moving guidelines and rules. Because of this cancellation we had to pay our building $300 to move into the late hours of the evening, and we had to pay a fortune for another company (DUMBO) to come save the day last minute. Mega Van Lines has cost us SO much money, extreme emotional damage, and now over a month after our move we still cannot get a single response from anyone at the company. They are quite literally screening us, and all we want is our money back. Which is the LEAST of what this company is really responsible for. They are not just responsible for our refund, but for the emotional damage they have caused on top of the cost we had to pay for other movers to help us in a pinch.

I am truly advising that you do not choose this company. No one should have to go through what they are putting us through. I still cannot wrap my head around why they are acting spiteful. I keep saying to my husband, I don't understand..they breached contract they said that they were refunding us, why is this happening. And he said that the manager is being spiteful. The thing that is baffling to me, is that they have no right to be spiteful to us. We didn't do anything wrong. We provided everything they asked for and more. We told them what we needed days in advance. They chose to ignore those requests and when we asked their employees the days leading up to the move if they had everything and to provide us the documents since our building was asking, they literally shut us up and said "We do moves ALL the time in NYC and we know what we are doing so relax".

I consider us to be reasonable people, who were reacting to a bad situation. So if they are spiteful because we were upset, they shouldn't be running a business.

They have an opportunity now to make this right and issue us our refund. I don't want to sue them... I just moved into a house, I am grieving the loss of my dad and uncle who both passed away two weeks before our move, and I just want to move on and be done with this. But we need the money. We need our money. Please do the right thing Mega Van Lines. I am begging you.

LIED TO. STOLEN FROM, CHARGED DOUBLE. BROKEN ITEMS

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. LIED TO REPEATEDLY, MANIPULATED, STOLEN FROM, CHARGED DOUBLE ON MOVE DAY.

I must say, I really thought Mega Vans was going to be a positive experience, I had never hired movers, I searched around varied companies and provided info to receive a quote. Mega Vans seemed to be the most affordable so I went with them. I never write bad reviews for places so you know this list have bad for me to take the time. Biggest issue was them charging me an additional $2,000 on the day of the move, charging me double my quote at the last moment. The consistent lying and false promises was slimy too. The fact that it took TWO WEEKS for my belongings to arrive is APALLING.

They failed to provide me all the info I needed, and lied to me on many occasions throughout the experience. I will detail below.

Upon booking, they never mentioned plants or liquids could not be moved. Come moving day; the "moving manager/driver" says it's not allowed. I had called and talked to quality assurance about my inventory two days before the move, and was re-quoted for $2,500 (a $400 increase, which was a bit frustrating but to be expected). During that call, I mentioned my plants and said I'd use an open box. No one told me they weren't allowed and I had to get rid of some the day of, hundreds of dollars of plants, and squish the rest in my car. I gave my full inventory, forgetting the golf clubs and a massage table. I mentioned the cube storage space shelves I had and they told me the movers would disassemble the furniture. On move day, they did not disassemble this and instead wrapped it, taking up 3X as much space (they charged me for of course). They never told me liquids weren't allowed and I had to reopen boxes, throw things away, and re-close during the chaos of movers being in my home.

I also asked and called about the date of arrival of my things. I was told the driver would call me 24 hours before pickup and tell me when it would arrive. On pickup, the manager/driver told me that my belongings would arrive in Indianapolis on Friday. Thursday I called his phone and he said a DIFFERENT DRIVER would call me 24 hours before they arrive. So basically NOBODY KNOWS when they'll arrive. My biggest issue is the dishonesty in this. Had I know this ahead of time, I would have prepared entirely differently for the move. This is the same man who charged me the extra $2,000 on the day of my move. He also had us Venmo him the payment. I don't remember his name, but his number is +1 (201) 375-1478 and I'm sure the corporate company can use that info to find him.

On the move day I was charged $5,000, TWICE AS MUCH AS MY QUOTE 2 DAYS BEFORE. Like I said; there was a couple extra small items (not enough to charge me double). I could have even understood a $500 increase for the table and golf clubs, a couple extra boxes....but $2,000!? It's insane.

It's also very frustrating because in my initial call, I was quoted $2,100 for a rough estimate of what I had mentioned. During this call, I said we were considering not hiring movers and doing it ourselves. I was assured over and over it would cost the same. When I looked into us moving ourselves, it would have been around $1,900. Looking back, I completely regret listening to Gus (extension 214) and the rest of the team as they were clearly trying to force me to commit and then overcharge me through lies and manipulation.

While waiting two weeks for my belongings to arrive, I called on Monday (a full week after pickup) and was told the driver would contact me by Friday. Friday comes, still no call. I call customer service again, the first agent hangs up on me so I call back. They proceed to tell me there is no guarantee when it'll arrive, everything is an estimate. Finally after threatening to call the owner, they tell me my belongings will arrive Sunday.

The NEW driver calls Sunday morning and is trying to upcharge for carrying up the stairs. Come on, it's your JOB to move things. I say I'm not paying an extra dime.

If they reach out to me to rectify this, i will gladly update this review as I believe companies can right the wrongs of individual employees as Gus should have never over-promised and lied, quality assurance did not inform, and the moving manager/driver was wrong on many occasions. Lying on arrival date, not disassembling all furniture, taking up additional space, and grossly overcharging me.

When my belonging arrived, my end table was broken, my mattress is missing, and my red velvet chair: so they also STOLE my belongings. So if you want liars and thieves, then go with Mega Vans.

Long-distance move from Greenville, TX to Great Mills, MD

Worst company EVER

This company was hired to move my mother from Texas to Maryland. First bad experience to foreshadow the rest is that she moved during the snow storm and the movers couldn’t get to her for days. No big deal, we called daily to check if they would be coming that day as we had already left the state to travel to Maryland. Our neighbor was going to be letting the movers in, and we needed to know when they were coming (hence why we called daily). One day the would not answer or call back, so we had to call every 2 hours to get an update. The woman who we spoke with was incredibly RUDE. She stated that maybe if we didn’t call every 2 seconds they would be able to get to us and the proceeded to hang up on us!

We brushed it aside hoping it was just a one off. Fast forward to this past Monday when my mom got the call her stuff would be delivered on Tuesday between 3-5pm. If you are late and not available due that time they will charge you a fee for every hour you are late. My mom left her new job 2 hours early for the day to make sure she would be at her apartment when they arrived.

The movers didn’t even call to say they were going to be late until after 6pm! At that time they stated they were still 50 minutes out. Well past the last quoted time. The movers don’t show up until after 8pm. They showed up with the furniture on a 53 foot trailer even after the rep we spoke with before signing the contract stated the furniture would never be on a 53 foot trailer as she didn’t have enough stuff. The movers than have to get a different truck and come back. They didn’t show back up until 10pm! She lives in an apartment complex and has neighbors who have complained because of these people! They didn’t even rebuild the furniture AS STATED IN THE CONTRACT, and there for voided the contract. They dropped the couch twice down the stairs because the movers were screaming and arguing with each other. They scratched the front door to her apartment because they couldn’t figure out how to take the feet off the sofa. My mom had to do it for them. They didn’t leave until 11:55pm!!!!!

Completely inexcusable for a “professional company”. The boxes looked as if they tape had been ripped up and retapped down. Some of the contents of one box seemed to have been gone through! We will be doing a detailed check to make sure nothing was stolen from the boxes.

She called Mega Van Lines yesterday and asked to have a supervisor call her back today because of the issues. She tried to speak to one then, but the man refused to put anyone on the line stating that the supervisor had left for the day because they were about to close. I’m not sure what company sends their supervisors home before their employees leave for the day, but it doesn’t sound like a good one to me.

To no surprise the supervisor did not call and she was forced to call again today. She spoke to the supervisor who was extremely rude and stated they would not be doing anything to rectify these issues. Stated her contract was with “the other company” and not through them. The contract was signed and negotiated with Mega Van Lines, not the company Mega Van Lines subcontracted to move the furniture.

They tried to state that the Bill of Lading was a contract with her and the other company. Bill of Ladings are nothing more than a piece of paper stating yes these items were picked up from me on such date by who ever or delivered on whatever date by whoever. They are not a contract.

The rep refused to listen to her and was speaking over her and wouldn’t let my mother speak. She even had the audacity to hang up in the middle of the conversation!

She refused to transfer the call to her supervisor stating there was no one else to speak with and no one above her. She refused to offer any kind of compensation for damages or the horrible experience my mother had with these people. Leaving us the only option of disputing the charges.

I would never ever use this company even if it meant I had to hand carry my furniture across the US. They will not do anything to make it right when they have breached their own contract. They refuse to take any accountability for what happens if something goes wrong. They will pass the buck to the sub contracted company and try to make you go through them, who won’t do anything either.

Long-distance move from Gibsonton, FL to Columbia, MO

This is a Scam!!! Brokerage firm and low ball quote then raise prices

I originally booked this company in April for a late June move. Robert Steele was the person I spoke to. I was told the move from FL-MO would be around $3,000 and take 4-9 days. I knew this was a good price so I figured it might change by a few hundred but it was still cheaper than anywhere else I called (over 10 other places.) Robert was very pushy over the phone so I realize now it was my mistake for chosing them but after talking to so many places I just wanted it to be over. I never heard from them so around May I called to confirm details, dates, and our new address. They always answer and seem courteous over the phone. Then another month passed with now word. I had to keep calling the week of to get details on when the would come and finalize our inventory. When I finally got a hold of someone for the inventory we went over everything, a few things less a few things more (mainly boxes being large instead of medium) and then Derick informed me he would be charging me an additional $1700 due to the change in inventory!!!! As mentioned I expected the price to change by a few hundred but this was over half of the original price. I told him it was ridiculous but at this point it was 2 days before the scheduled move and not much I could do. I called back the next day as we had decided to get rid of some things and condense down but they said it was too late to make anymore changes, even though they were the ones to wait until 2 days before what should have happened at least a week before.

The moving company showed up in FL early, very nice gentlemen and professional who completed loading in just 3 hours.

Then the wait. Originally I was told 4-9 days... then 7-10... then up to 14 due to the holiday weekend. On Thursday (day 12) i was told my items had been loaded onto the truck and would be here Sat and given a contact number for Yas. On Friday I contacted him and was told they would be here Sat by 5 and would call an hr before arrival. By 4:30pm on Saturday I heard nothing so I called and was told they had a tire blow out and would now be here Sunday btw 2-3. On Sunday at 2 I called and was told it would be closer to 5. At 5pm we had to call again and were told they were still 40 min out. At no point did he call us with updates. I had to constantly call them. It's now 5:30, and has started raining as I still sit here waiting for our furniture. More updates to come should it ever arrive.

Bottom line DO NOT USE Mega Van Lines. It is a brokerage firm that hires your move out to the lowest bidder. They lure you in with cheap prices and then double it the last week when they know there's nothing you can do. Awful experience!!!

You have to track this company down to get any response. The new place I was moving to required a COI which required certain coverages and when I received the document on the day of the move, the necessary coverages were not there and they refused to update their insurance policy. After arriving six hours late they concluded there wasn’t enough room on their truck to fit all of my belongings and they left. Never offering any other options. Mega Van Lines refuses to give me back my deposit of over $3,000 & some how removes every negative review I leave on the internet. Do Not Give Them Your Money!

Long-distance move from California to Minnesota

Ever want to see your stuff again?

Our entire truck was "Stolen". That is how it all ended. How it started was -They sound incredibly nice, until they get your deposits. I said deposits, because they will call you again after the initial deposit to scare you into paying double for more space. Then your deposit is non refundable, regardless of you getting a single item delivered. The companies they broker to complete your move literally have class action lawsuits against them for stealing. Is Mega not liable for who they choose to do business with? Mega will not even talk to us on the phone, period, they say we need to talk to the company they brokered and they transfer us over, they will not even talk to us. Well, the company they brokered won't answer at all. so what are we to do? every single item we owned is gone and no one will answer the phone, and to add insult to injury, Mega will not even refund our deposit. Someone help please.

Long-distance move from Washington DC to California

SCAM. DO NOT USE. Read below.

This business is a SCAM. DO NOT USE. They are not a moving company, but rather a broker who takes your money and does not setup a move. I confirmed this with the Delray Beach, FL police department, who confirmed this and stated they are well aware of people getting duped by Mega Van Lines. They started the street exits, but not the street number they claim.

My daughter had a move setup with them, paid her deposit, and then a week before they said the price went up. It doubled. Then they no-showed on moving day with no call. Their "24-hour" phone number didn't connect. They refused to refund the deposit claiming it was done too late. I contacted the BBB (no ratings or reviews because they are fake and reset up), I contacted the Delray Beach police department and they confirmed they are illegitimate. I contacted other agencies, and trying to get Google to remove their listing because of fraud, but I haven't been able to contact them yet.

Use a large, well known, established company. You will regret it if you use Mega Van Lines because they don't exist except to steal your money.
