Long-distance move from Salt Lake City, UT to Madison, WI

Non Performance.

MVL did not show up. Thomas was great to work with right up until the actual day of pick up. Promises were made that didn't come to fruition. We were blatantly lied to. Now we don't exist, no response from the company. Emails are not responded to. We canceled their service after 5 days of "the truck has been dispatched and it is on it's way", which was also 5 days after pick up date. Failure to perform on their side. We have not seen a refund because we were told there is a 72 hour window to cancel. We gave the company 120 hours to perform. We canceled because they didn't show up.

Long-distance move from Rabun Gap, GA to Earleville, MD

These guys were just perfect.

I have to relocate every few years. I hired Mega Van Lines to help with my last move upon a recommendation from a friend. When I called them, the man on the phone seemed very friendly and well informed. He called me back in 10 minutes with a very reasonable estimate. I specifically asked for a crew who is good at handling breakables. The men they sent looked like pro-wrestlers! They were very efficient. Their speed terrified me a little. They were so fast at packing everything that I thought they were not doing the job properly. The crew seemed to know what they were doing and so I didn’t say anything to them. Fortunately, all my breakables were in great condition when they made the delivery. These guys were just perfect.

Mega Van Lines provided me amazing services.

Mega Van Lines provided me amazing services while they handled my last move! The movers were absolutely the hardest working men I ever come across. They were very attentive and professional at a very good rate. They were very careful with my pieces of furniture and helped me to unpack everything after making the delivery. I am definitely letting everyone know how awesome these guys are.

Shame on you Mega Van Lines.

We are in our 6th week with this terrible company. On July 12th my 93 year old father was coerced into trusting this company, giving them his bank account information and later his belongings and we are still waiting to get his belongs or even an accurate estimate of their anticipated delivery.

Two weeks into “the move” we found out that Mega Van Lines submitted several fraudulent checks against his bank account. Four weeks into the move after not getting any updates or return calls from the company we reported them to the Better Business Bureau, the state of Florida, and US Department of Transportation. We got a handful of calls and a couple of e-mails within 24 hours and now, roughly six weeks into the move, again we are getting no information regarding the delivery and no return phone calls.

I cannot conceive of any reason to do business with this company and I sincerely hope no one else has these experiences. It is truly heartbreaking to see how little a company cares.

Shame on you, Mega Van Lines.

Do Not Use Them.

J.K. Rowling wouldn't even have enough words to describe how horrible this "company" is and its staff. They lie to you to get your money and then they pass your belongings onto another moving company who offers you no time table for delivery as they didn't sign the contract with you. I am not someone who usually leaves reviews but for how awful they were I will everywhere. DO NOT USE THEM. Trust me it will save you so much headache.

Best Moving Company Ever.

I know of a relocation company that cannot disappoint me. I know of a mover that will be there for me in my times of need. I know Mega Van Lines. I first came across this relocation company six years, thanks to my childhood friend. She told me about it when we were chatting late one evening. She was so positive about and gave me a challenge of hiring it out just in case I was in need of relocation service. True to her words, I did so a year later and what ensued was beyond my expectation, tremendous relocation services.

Long-distance move from Garden Grove, CA to Rathdrum, ID

Horrible.

This is NOT a moving company, do not hire these crooks. They simply take your money and bid the job out to another company. We had a complicated move from California up to Idaho, we needed 2 separate pick-ups of our household items which Mega Vanlines said they could handle. We contracted with them 4 months prior to the move, well in advance because we had a very tight timeline and couldn't afford any mistakes. The first pick up went smoothly and our items were to be in storage for 60 days. The moving company arrived on the date/time they said they would. The moving company was not Mega Vanlines, it was Oasis Moving and Storage out of Nevada. They picked up our stuff and took it to storage. What happened from there was horrible, while our items were in storage, sealed containers were opened, the black/yellow tubs with zip ties were OPENED! it was tossed and we only received about 50% of our items, that's another review for another company though because Mega Vanlines are not a moving company. The second pick up of our stuff was a nightmare, they did not show up on 5 separate days when they said they would be there. I was in touch with Eddie and Paul (QA guy) who eventually stopped taking my calls as the movers did not show up 3 days in a row. I was trying to work from home, my kids were distance learning, my house was already sold. I called Mega Vanlines and asked them for any sort of confirmation, any sort of assurance my stuff would be picked up because we had already closed on the sale of my house and the buyers were kind enough to let us stay until the end of the week as our movers kept NOT SHOWING UP. My house in California was sold and we had to hand over the keys and the movers DID NOT SHOW UP on 5 separate occasions. When I called Mega Vanlines, I was told by Eddie that he couldn't tell me where the movers were, he couldn't contact the moving company they bid the job out to and talk to their dispatch. He couldn't give me any information. I was stuck with a house full of stuff and 2 vehicles that had no transport to Idaho. What a freaking nightmare. This was a $10,000 mistake as I had to not only pay Mega Vanlines for being in the middle and doing nothing to support me, I had to pay the moving company who lost half of our stuff in a storage facility in Nevada. We lost so much, it was devastating to our kids. I filed a dispute with my credit card company and guess what..Mega Vanlines has a great little contract that you will sign that releases their liability, I have to deal with the moving company. I lost my deposit of several thousand dollars when the movers DID NOT SHOW UP to pick up the final load of stuff and our two classic cars. The customer service at Mega Vanlines kept me hanging for an entire week, up until the move date and couldn't tell me why the movers NEVER SHOWED UP 5 times. The night before we were to leave the state of California, we had to hire a local mover to pick up our belongings and our friend was able to secure and enclosed car carrier to move our vehicles. It costed us an additional $15,000 dollars to make the move happen. These guys are crooks, period. Go directly to the moving company yourself, don't get caught up in the cheap quotes from these guys, they're not telling you how much you pay them to bid the job to the cheapest bidder and then you still have to write a check to the company that shows up at your house. Do not hire Mega Vanlines to be your middle man because once the job gets messy, they are not there to support you. I paid them thousands of dollars for nothing. I am disgusted with how the items we did receive arrived to our new home, containers were busted open, it looked like our belongings were dumped into a blender and thrown back into whatever box or container they could find. We're missing a lot of very expensive items, things that can be easily sold. Look at their YELP reviews that's where all the real honest feedback is.

This Company is a Massive Scam.

I'm echoing the responses by a lot of other posters; do not use this company. They function as an intermediary between the customer and a third-party logistics company. They use their employees Paypal and Venmo accounts to collect money (Shady). The shippers they sent me threatened to break my belonging if I didn't agree to a price that was $1,300 above my estimate. The customer service is poor. The company is a massive scam. I've contacted the Better Business Bureau, who will be looking into this.

Worse moving service out there! SCAMMERS.

Worse moving service out there! They quote you one price but when they go out to pick up the location to pick up your furniture will more than double the price and don't you even dare cancel their service at the moment they go view the furniture they already quoted they will not refund you your deposit! In total they stole 767.00 from me and my family ! When we called to get answers they didn't even have my name on the file correct ! The manager "Jackie Hernandez" is rude and has no empathy for clients and taking their money even during a pandemic ! DO NOT HIRE THESE SCAMMERS!

Long-distance move from Easton, KS to Waddell, AZ

Best Moving Service Ever.

We were moving to the neighboring state so the distance wasn’t much. In fact, to save time I decided to pack up everything before the movers arrived. I asked Mega Van Lines to send their men around 11 am on the moving day. The men arrived at 10:57 am. I already had everything packed and ready to be loaded. They inspected everything thoroughly at first. Then it took them no time to finish loading all my belongings to their van. All my belongings were delivered on the same day to my new house. I have heard of so many people being terrified of having to move from one place to another. If you hire a competent company and instruct them properly, there is absolutely nothing frightening about relocation.

They make this job look easy.

I keep hoping I would have something bad to say about Mega Van Lines so I could warn people of what they should be careful about. But these guys just didn’t give me the chance. They have always been punctual, reliable and honest during all our moves. In my times working with them, the movers were never late. They are yet to break any valuables of mine. They always make sure that my possessions travel safely. What I like the most about them is that they are not ridiculously priced, nor do they keep increasing their prices like others. Their final bill is always incredibly close to their initial estimate. They make this job look easy and you all must hire them to find out.

Long-distance move from Rathdrum, ID to East Glacier Park, MT

It was truly a great moving experience.

I knew moving was going to be difficult given the amount of belongings we had. Some of our furniture was old and very heavy. But my wife wouldn’t part with them so we had to take them with us. I warned Mega Van Lines about the heavy furniture but they seemed quite unshaken. I understood the reason when the movers arrived. They were such strong men. They carried my furniture as if they were carrying feathers. I reckon these men had years of experience under their belts. Either way I could imagine the pain they were going through. I tipped them very generously once they delivered everything. It was truly a great moving experience.

Highly recommend!

They walked us through the whole process step by step and their pricing was also very competitive. The majority of our furniture was wrapped, cushioned and dealt with. Moving was brisk and at a decent cost. They completed the move before the schedule and I decided to check the inventory by myself. So all in all, I am successfully relocated and without any damages.

Warning..do Not Use Mega Van Lines!!

Mega Van Lines will give you a low estimate to get your business. They tell the customer what they want to hear (1 to 7 days delivery) BUT THEY DON'T DELIVER and PUT THEIR HEADS IN THE SAND WHEN YOU NEED HELP!!

We have just experienced our worst nightmare..The carrier Mega gave our job to is known to be dishonest and unreliable..WE HAD NO SAY IN THIS!! We were taken advantage of and seem to have no recourse.

After 40 days of nondelivery we were forced to hire another moving company (paying for the 500 mile move twice). The carrier would not answer their calls..no ETA..it appeared they took their website down..Mega put their heads in the sand hoping it would all go away..IT DIDNT!

Our estimate with Mega went from $6500 to almost $13,000. Mega hires shady, cheating companies so they make a larger profit!

When we did finally get our belongings (Thanks to a local BBB accredited company coming to our rescue, our furniture had been chipped, damaged, holes worn in material/leather and scratched beyond repair. And to make matters worse, we have had no choice but to pay OVER $15,000 for a $5000 move.

Long-distance move from Norfolk, VA to Springfield, IL

Worst experience and harrassment.

Despite paying extra for guaranteed dates, they showed up 36 hours late for the move and subsequently delivered my items over a week late. And after 10 weeks, I still do not have multiple items or a receipt and they claim they are not responsible. Additionally, the company they subcontracted with sexually harassed me at the pickup of my items and via text thereafter. NEVER use them. They are horrible and dishonest and should not be allowed to remain in business. Their manager, Eddie Gates, has long promised to help but has repeatedly failed in his statements and did not even provide the updated contract that he was promising me even the day that my items were being picked up. Oh, and the company that did the physical move did not have a copy of the contract and stated that they would charge me significantly more. And they were not able to accept credit card which is what the parent company had promised. I never received a receipt and am still fighting for compensation.

Run Away, most Reviews here are FaKe! Look them up on BBB..

This is a broker company!! Please run far far away from them. They will give you a great quote, and then take your money.

They blocked my number after I called to find out where our movers were. Eddy is completely unhelpful and told us he would have people at our house "Tomorrow" every day for a week! And we booked our move 3 weeks prior! Our stuff was eventually picked up and finally delivered, after it was help hostage by one of their west coast logistics companies they broker with: D United. We paid 3x our initial quote in money orders and cash as required ransom before they would deliver our stuff. Its all great when you are talking with the salesman, I had Armondo Blackwell..that is, until he blocked my number and moved on to collect from some one else. They promised a refund due to my inconvenience (camping on the floor for 3 weeks my family of 5) but never sent it.

I cannot thank Moving Home Company enough! They arrived on time as they had promised. To our amazement, the guys worked tirelessly and moved all the heavy and delicate loads into the two vans they had brought. They did a very neat job of dismantling our furniture and putting it back together in the new house. The estimate and office experience was both efficient and trouble free. Recommended!

Re: Do Not Hire

They promised me that my deposit was fully refundable. We notified them well before the 14 business day period as our home purchase fell through. They, again, promised we would receive our refund when we informed them of the cancellation. Instead they ignored our calls and texts. I see from the NUMEROUS other poor reviews, this is how they do business. A scam/fly by night operation.

Long-distance move from Morristown, NJ to Orlando, FL

MEGA SCAM LINES

SCAM SCAM SCAM! Please read and save yourself the headache. LENGTHY BUT USEFUL! I had booked my move for over a month with a rep named Max. I went over ALL of my possessions and had 20 Large boxes listed on the move. I paid for my deposit with a credit card after them really pressuring me to pay by money order or ACH. Their excuse was (recent card fraud on their end) but ended up accepting it and I had asked Max numerous times if I can pay by credit on the day of pick up and the day of drop off. He assured me yes that’s no problem. After that I was transferred to another rep where she went over everything one more time and I again asked her about the credit card and she said yes that she’ll even put a note in for the driver to see. Moving day comes the driver comes in to look at all of my possessions that I’m moving. I told him I know longer have 20 Large boxes and no buffet table. He says I won’t fit without going over my “limit of space.” I asked how? I have a lot less stuff on my inventory list I never added anything? He says follow me and shows me the truck. Where he claimed that I’ll be pass my limit and I’ll have to pay extra. We went back and fourth and ended up back inside to talk about it. NOW after going back and fourth for awhile he says this to me. Look I have my nephew with me today so if you help me I’ll help you. I won’t charge you for your “extra space” and won’t charge you for packing materials if you give me some cash. I’ll give it all to him. At this point I’m considering it because it’s moving day and I have to get halfway across the country. I asked ok but I need to pay by credit card . He says no you can’t, cash or zelle only. Then back to going back and forth about that. He called his boss and his boss kept saying no and then hung up the phone. Back to us going back and forth he all of a sudden says ok you take care of me I’ll make you happy. Finally before he even talked to his boss again he said I can pay with credit card and won’t charge me for my “extra space” he then called his boss and his boss right off the bat now says ok that’s fine send me a picture of his license and credit card. Now I’m like what heck is going on? Who runs a business like that? Then I ask him what about my stuff on day of delivery, can I pay by cc? He goes no! Once again back and forth with him and his boss and finally says you can without getting the ok from his boss. Another red flag! My stuff would’ve been held hostage by that guy until I paid cash. I would have had to pay my second part of my payment ($1,400ish) PLUS I WOULD HAVE HAD TO FORK OUT AT LEAST 400 in cash for the driver and his nephew. They back you into a corner of moving day because they know they can get away with it. So I told them no thanks I’ll find a different moving company. Now Mega scam lines is refusing to refund my deposit because I “refused the movers.” But I can use it as a credit for my next move. Why would I let them move my stuff after that? Every time I call I get the run around and told to email this support line (which I did) pay the little extra money for a better moving company because it’s going to be cheaper in the long run with another moving company and less stressful. That afternoon I called shleppers and they picked up my stuff the next day!!! No hidden fees no extra money for materials and very very professional!! Turned out cheaper too in the long run.

Long-distance move from Bayonne, NJ to Clearwater, FL

Horrible Experience. Save your money, time, stress, and precious belon

My father hired this company for an out of state move and they performed very poorly from end to end. First, their strategy is to compete with other companies in the market by giving you an attractive quote and saying they are the best in the market and specialized in long distance moves. The salesman was very persuasive and convinced my father to make the move with them. He was very nice at the beginning. However, once the pick up day neared, the price changed three times. My dad tried calling back the salesman several times and he ignored the phone calls since they have caller id. My dad spoke to several people who just kept telling him that he should pay otherwise they would not handle his move and this was two days before the scheduled pickup which did not give my dad enough time to look for another moving company. My dad ended up paying to speed up the process, but was not happy because he ended up paying over a thousand dollars more of what he was initially quoted. Then, you would think with the amount he is paying, the service would be impeccable. Well, we were so wrong. Pieces of furniture arrived all scratched up or bent. The guy driving the truck was rude and said he did not have time to assemble anything which assembling was included in the quote. It was only him and another helper; only two people to handle a big move, that doesn't make sense. The helper had trouble carrying out all the stuff and the driver instead of helping, he just kept rushing the helper and not even helping to assemble anything. He said that wasn't his job. Mind you that my dad paid extra thousand for his move, the least you would expect is white glove service. This was totally the opposite. Poor communication, sketchy prices, and when they arrive to deliver your goods, they send unprofessional people that do not even care about your furniture because they arrive all scratched and they want to do is leave when you pay them. Moving can be stressful, but this moving company makes it worse. By the way, two emails were sent after the move to complain, they have not responded to them. My father calls and they don't return his phone calls. Please do yourself a favor, please save your money, stress, and precious belongings for another company to handle. These guys are not worth it. Horrible Horrible Experience that I do not wish on anyone.

Scam - do not go with this company

First off- this company deserves 0 stars. Working with Mega Van Lines has been a nightmare. Eddie and Max have lied about everything from the initial call around the process, quotes and promised free storage for up to 30 days to accommodate our move around Thanksgiving. They messed up our pick up dates by a week and now our delivery times are also unclear. Not to mention our costs have gone up over $1000 from the initial quote for items that were not even brought up on the initial call.

When I expressed my concerns, Eddie the “head of customer support” hung up on me.

I have completed multiple moves and have never come across such a disorganized, unprofessional company. Stay away and do not believe any of these 5 star reviews.

Awful experience

DON'T BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY! They will tell you what you want to hear to get the sale and then it's all downhill from there. I specifically asked if they were a broker and the rep said they were not.. turns out that was a lie. Our estimate was also horribly low so that when their contracted mover actually came to pick up our belongings, we were told the estimate was only 1/2 of what we actually needed. When we called to discuss our options, Mega Van Lines put all of the blame on us. I am so glad we didn't send any of our things with them - I wouldn't trust them with a thing. Horrible customer service and their words cannot be trusted. STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY!

Don't use this company

This is one of the worst companies in Florida, they are irresponsible and abusive, they give a price in beginning and end with another, the company that pick up yours things is different, they charge more money, if you don't pay wat they want, they don't do the delivery, they leave yours thing in a warehouse and one third company do final delivery. In all this process they damage yours furniture's

They do not comply with the protocols of the contract, when you call to complain, they don't pick up the phone because they know your number.

Avoid at all costs.

Notice that all positive reviewers have only left one review on Google and it’s for Mega Van Lines... that should tell you that they’re fraudulent. MVL was previously known as Load Lock and Roll, they rebranded and reincorporated after they were banned from doing business in the state of California.

Select this company if you love the following:

The fact that Mega Van Lines is not actually a moving company, they are just a broker who contracts the move to other sketchy carriers, e.g, the company actually moving your stuff, that you’re not aware of until after your move is scheduled (Konami was ours, steer clear — they have a huge class action lawsuit against them). Mega Van Lines takes no responsibility for the loss or damage to any of your items, pick up dates, delivery dates, etc

Given that they select sketchy carriers, your items will likely be broken, missing and/or stolen especially if they’re valuable. Our 47” TV and multiple other valuable items vanished.

The salesperson (Andrew Stroncek, likely not his real name) telling you “our contract system is broken so you can’t read the terms and conditions but let’s get this started via verbal agreement.” Later read the contract after the process has started and find out they utterly screw you.

Being misquoted a low price only to find out there are tons of hidden fees which double your cost (we went from $1,800 to $3,500 after all was said and done)

When you call with an issue, no one can handle it for you and the people who “can” are never in the office. Be prepared to call them dozens of times and get no where

Be prepared to be hoodwinked throughout the entire process and for neither Mega Van Lines nor the contracted carrier to take financial responsibility and offer zero recourse.

I would HIGHLY advise against selecting Mega Van Lines or any other moving broker/company for that matter. Just sell the stuff that you don’t have a personal attachment to or move it yourself. It will likely be cheaper and less of a headache.

Avoid!

Do NOT use these moving companies! Mega Van Lines out of Florida (broker) and Mirit Great American Trucking Company (trucker) out of New Jersey. The story is long, so I'll just hit the highlights. I had an initial quote - I wound up spending almost $2000 more than expected, due to their failure to communicate "extra expenses" - like packing tape! Items were broken, some antiques! Sketchy movers - one tried to extort a big tip and another wanted my phone number!! All I can say is Karma is Bitch!! Working on a claim now...Please be careful when choosing moving company!!
