They promised my packages would not go into storage, but it did.
It arrived 4 days late and my family didn't even have our beds. No apologies, of course.
Furnitures were broken on the move, which was expected. And the worst come with the claim. They use movingclaims.net to handle their claims and those people are the worst I've seen in years. First you need to submit all documents and pictures and fill in detailed information about the broken furnitures. Weeks later they'll have you sign a paper (no email confirmation allowed) that you're ok with your claims. More weeks later they will give a number so low that you'll feel embarrassed by them. It would be lower than the by pound compensation for your loss, and no details about how they calculated the number. I emailed with them at least 6 times requesting a breakdown of the settlement and each time they seem to say they don't know what I was talking about. They "offered" me to submit a "one time only" dispute if I was not satisfied! Even if you are so tired of arguing with these illiterates and just wanted to claim the dime they offered, they actually asked you to sign and "NOTERIZE" the acceptance of that dime!
Don't ever do business with this company, or anyone who try to throw you off with the movingclaims.net.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3700

I hired these people over the phone and they were nice
enough but totally screwed me over. The company they hired
to move me were a day late plus the young guys that showed up
were questionable. I called the after hours number given to me
and no response. To make a long story short, these guys
that actually moved my stuff to Denver..when my furniture was
delivered I was missing 4 oriental rugs, 2 pieces of artwork, and a bicycle. Plus I had water damage armoire, and not one
piece of my furniture was left without some kind of damage. I
contacted Long Distance Movers right away and at the time
they seemed very concerned but as weeks went by they
never did anything to recovery my missing items. They frankly
blew me off when I called. The movers they hired to move
my things frankly stole my stuff and no one has been held
responsible. This happened in August and after numerous
times to get some answers I have given up. I wish that the
networks would do a story on these moving scams because
I know I am not alone. Plus they owe me $100 that was overpayment on delivery which I have never been reimbursed.
My advice definitely have an onsite quote and even if it seems
high if movers are reputable use them. Most movers go by weight the movers I used said that didn't do that..scam I do have photos of all my missing items plus pictures of my damaged furniture. Plus urine stains on my beautiful mattress and dirt on my box springs/mattress which were bagged. I had to purchase the bags and helped put the mattress/box springs in the bag. It was obvious they had been removed from the bag.
Like I said I have pictures of everything, phone numbers, correspondence, etc.

I wa shipping around in order to get a nice quote for my move from San Francisco to Seattle.

I assume the process means lots of e-mails with questions.

Hamilton Johnson from the sales department gave me a quote and I told him that I would consider his quote and get back to him I just needed to see around first as I was shipping around.

The answer he gave me?:

What? Does that mean either you agree on the quote without the liberty to shop around or BEAT IT?? So Rude and I can only imagine how the service and follow up with me would have been if I did consider them for my move.

Move size: Studio Service cost: $2363

I don't usually file a complain, but your service sucks!! You would say everything and make promises that you can never fulfill to get this business. I called your company almost 1 and half months earlier to schedule my shippings. You kept telling me that you can help me to do this and that. When the moving time coming, you changed everything you promised me and told me you can't do that for me such like changing the pick-up date and location and increasing the price. Now, you can't even keep you promise on delivering my items on time. You told me to wait for 10 - 14 days for my delivery at very beginning. Now you wanted to wait for another 14 days so you can deliver my furniture and items. That is ridiculous. The mostly important thing is that your representatives have super terrible attitude in handling you messes. All I see is that you are just trying to push me to another department and not even try to help me to get my items sooner. Your representatives don't even try to address the problems they created.
If that's the answer I will get every time I call. I will definitely keep filing my complain to your company and will leave 100% negative review to every website I can find. I paid for your service and I don't deserve it.

Every time I plan to relocate it is a habit that I involve a relocation company. I have had an opportunity to associate with a different relocation company, and I can comfortably narrate about them. They didn’t do it to the standard I needed my relocation taken care of. But it is not long ago I met a unique one in the industry - Long Distance Movers. For the first time, I came across a reliable service provider. They were cheap and more aggressive. Contrary to the rest they had a spacious van that carried all my stuff in one round. I loved the experience with them.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2400

It’s a shame we live in a world where honest hard-working people are taken advantage of by shady companies looking to capitalize on a situation. This racket of a company sold me on countless lies that ultimately resulted in having to pay more money, significantly delayed arrival of our shipment, and multiple damaged items requiring repair, including a 65-inch TV.

I first spoke to a salesman by the name, COHAN, who is, no doubt, employed by this sham company for his ability to tell blatant lies and make empty promises just to get a sale. I was told, “the movers are our guys, they’re all background-checked, certified, professional movers”: LIE. Long Distance (LD) is a broker who sells you a product under the guise of “affordable”, “quality”, and “personalized” service, then contracts that service out to an actual moving company, in our case, OCEAN MOVING AND STORAGE, to pick up and deliver your items. You sign a contract with LD initially and pay them a deposit; the amount of the deposit is calculated based on a percentage of the total estimate or quote, which is in turn based on weight or cubic footage of the inventory being shipped. COHAN grossly OVER-estimated the weight of our inventory to hike up the price, then told me, “you don’t want to underestimate the weight, the movers may not show up with a big enough truck” and “you’ll have to pay a fee at the end if they go through the weigh station and your stuff weighs more than estimated.” (Again, I was doing this for the first time, I didn’t know.) Then he promised I’d be given a “weight ticket” upon arrival of our shipment and I’d be refunded any cost based on the difference assessed at the weigh station: LIE (our items were loaded on to a truck that held items from two other households, mover stated they never went through a weigh station.) LD included a “shuttle fee” of $300 in the initial contract which means that, if applicable, your items may be loaded on to a larger truck for the long haul, then transferred to a smaller truck locally, to make the actual delivery (especially if you’re moving to a building that does not allow “18-wheelers” on site). I was told I’d be reimbursed the shuttle fee because, although “it’s included in every contract”, our shipment wouldn’t need to be shuttled in because the “same guy picking up your items will also be delivering them”: LIE (we had at least three different drivers from Ocean Moving; Jarrod, Noam, and Pablo). I was GUARANTEED our items would arrive on our move-in date, “next day at the latest”: LIE (Ocean Moving had a separate contract from LD and could not guarantee a delivery date, only a date range of 3-15 days). This guy from sales, COHAN, gave me his cell number, told me to “call anytime of the day” if I had a question or concern, said he would be in constant contact with their dispatch to ensure on-time delivery. I feel like an idiot now but, of course, he was a total flake and didn’t answer his phone or return my messages. They had their money, nothing left to do. Classic BAIT AND SWITCH.

After initially reporting the damaged items to, both LD and Ocean, I’ve called and emailed LD repeatedly for assistance with filing a claim and they still haven’t even sent me a claim form. Also, take a screenshot of your contract with LD while you have access to it; as soon as Ocean left with our shipment, the link to our contract online expired; the weblink in their email took me to a different webpage stating, “This job is booked! Contact Customer Service.” Super shady. I was never emailed a hard copy. Despite multiple requests to send a hard copy, they never sent it. And when I was able to reach someone in customer service, I was given the run-around and sent to different office locations. I eventually spoke to a manager named KAITLYN who is rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. She continued the onslaught of lies and deceit; she agreed to reimburse a portion of the shuttle fee and email a claim form for eventual reimbursement towards damages but has not followed up on either of these since.

Look, the situation was this: I had to hire a moving company for the first time to move my family, including small children, to another state. I researched a list of companies online; the larger, more well-known companies, were more expensive, required more lead time to schedule a pick up, and quoted a longer delivery window. I gambled on this smaller company that was promising personalized, professional service, and lost big time. It ended up being more expensive than the safer alternative, I now have damaged items that need repair, and no one from LD has even a hint of accountability because “this is an Ocean issue now”. LONG DISTANCE is a sham company who has neither the integrity nor the resources to deliver the product they claim to be selling. BY FAR, THE WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE EVER.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2985

I was given incorrect info about delivery date and now may have to wait an additional 2 weeks for my things to get here. Also told that I would be able to use a credit card for payment but movers said they don’t accept cc after all of my stuff was loaded. Big inconvenience since my checks were packed away in my car already. No one seems to know where the truck is exactly and have no way to find out. Eli from Cheetah movers, the company brokered for my move, is extremely rude and hung up on my wife after yelling at her about a family emergency he was dealing with. She was only asking if he knew where the truck was in transit, which I don’t consider an unreasonable question since we’re all of a sudden not getting our things when we were initially told we were. The manager at LDM told me I should be grateful that my stuff is in transit because it could still be in a warehouse in LA when all I was asking of her was to get in touch with Eli to find out whereabouts it is. Full disclosure- I did yell at her when it became apparent that she was not interested in offering any help or information finding out about basically everything I own or taking responsibility for the bad information I was given by both the salesperson, Eric, and the movers. She said it could be anywhere and had no way of knowing where it is or how many loads were on it. Awful, awful experience. Please pay attention to the reviews. They are correct. This company is a sham with some pretty slick salespeople on the payroll who will tell you whatever to get your business. I didn’t expect a lot from a broker but telling me they have no way to track the truck? Seriously, the driver doesn’t have a cell phone? Give me a break.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3300

I requested delivery of my house hold goods on the 5th of June it is now the 24th of July and I still do not have a single item of mine. Long Distance Movers is just a broker company meaning they book your move but then give it to another company. You then have to deal with some random company that gets your move. I have moved all over the United states for work. This by far is the worst move I have ever made. I am glad that my company has black listed this moving company and will no longer pay for there employees to use this company.

The worst SCAMMERS EVER! I was quoted one price but by the time I was moved, the price went up by $4,000. When a moving truck STOP AND MOVE LLC, from New Jersey came to pick up my belongings, the man in charge could hardly speak English, told me that I was being charged by cubic ft. not by weight as I was told. Then he charged me for every little extra thing..like a dust pan and a broom. Shameful scammers. It took 8 days for them to deliver and numerous things were broken. I tried to complain to them but they hung up on me laughing. I will be contacting Atty. General's Office and Better Business Bureau.

They will say absolutely anything to get your business and then turn around and ignore you. My stuff was picked up from New Orleans and has still not been delivered to my house in California despite many MANY attempts to call and email them. Customer service is rude and inattentive. The customer service manager, Brittanie Neves is incapable of doing her job and does not answer phone calls or emails. Anytime you manage to get a hold of anyone, you’re either hung up on or told “we’ll call you.” It’s been a month. That answer is no longer acceptable and I want my furniture or a refund.

Do NOT ever use this company. They subcontract out their trucks and if u encounter issues over weekend there is NO emergency contacts. Quoted to move me on a Friday showed up Tues night. No apologies one of the WORST experiences of my life!!

If I could negative stars I would. I have had the worst experience with this company. DO NOT USE THEM! I decided to use them for our move from CA to TX because their rates were better than all the other companies I contacted. That was first mistake. You truly do get what you pay for. My belongings were picked up on 8/2 and I was given a time frame of 8-10 days. They brokered out the job by the way. The foreman that showed up tried to talk me into a new price that added $2400 to my total and when I told him that I would stick to the original he turned completely rude. I'm now on day 13 and still don't have our stuff. After 2 days of trying to reach someone I received a call from the company that picked my stuff up Cross Country Relocation Services and I was told that it was going to be another week before my things arrived at our new house. That puts the delivery time at almost 20 days. And no one at the company seems to care at all. I've been put out additional money because of this and my husband can't start working with out the tools that they have sitting in a warehouse somewhere waiting for a truck to be available to bring them to TX. He is required to have his own tools for his line of work and they don't care one little bit. I was told that the contract says they aren't responsible for delays and there is nothing they can do. So I've decided there is something I can do. I'm letting the public know not to use this company and I'm filing a complaint with the BBB and the DOT. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY! They are terrible and only care about getting their money, not your time or your belongings. I am going to post this to every website I can find.

We contacted long distance movers because of the name and we were moving a long distance. Spoke to a person called Jay and he asked me the usual questions pertaining to a move and what we were moving and how many rooms, etc. etc. I was given a final quote of $9,450.00 and an extra $1,000.00 to crate in wood our large mirrors (3). Sounded good so we contracted with him and he asked to make a deposit of 1/3 of the total by credit card which we did. He instructed us that another 1/3 would be due upon the arrival of the moving company when pick up was made. We continuously asked him about the crating of the mirrors as they were heirlooms and he continuously assured us not to worry that everything would be fine. Now we thought the Long Distance Moving Co. was the one moving us but it turned out that they are just a front office type of establishment and they then contract out or give the information to an actual moving company. We were contacted by a outfit called Move on Moving out of Las Vegas and they scheduled the day of the move and all other things pertaining to our move cross country. This is where the problems began and they continued to add up. We personally had packed all of our household goods and bubble wrapped everything and put into sealed boxed purchased and Uhaul prior to Move on Moving's arrival. The called us the day before and told us they would be there around 8:00 am. Well they didn't show up until just prior to noon, Ok, fine now where are the people that are going to crate my expensive mirrors. The man in charge had no clue what I was talking about and said that they had not been told about the crating of the mirrors and that they did not do that. This would have had to been sub contracted out to someone else. I was extremely upset. I couldn't cancel the move as the other company already had over $3.000.00 from us. The person in charge looked over what we were moving and told me that I had to pay prior to them loading the truck $4875.00 prior to them starting the loading process. This was almost $2,000.00 more than what I had expected to pay as the second 1/3 of the $9,450.00 originally quoted by Long Distance Movers. No craters for my mirrors, $2,000.00 more upon pickup and they let me know that it would be another $4,875.00 when my furniture arrived in Florida and that had to be paid prior to the unloading of the truck and it had to be in cash. Talk about being upset. I asked what are we going to do with my valuable mirrors and they told me they would just put some cardboard around them. We had no alternative as we had sold our home in Utah and had to be out be a certain date so the extra money was paid prior to the loading of our furniture. After the truck was loaded with our furniture we started our long drive to Florida in order to meet the moving van at our new home upon their arrival. When we arrived we called the moving company Move On Moving and were told that our furniture had been unloaded and placed in a warehouse in Las Vegas and would not be going to Florida until the next scheduled truck going that was, however they could not tell me when that would be. We are now at our new home in Florida with no furniture. We waited and waited and after many phone calls to this company were finally told that they were going to load our belongings on a truck that week and that it would arrive in Floride the following week and that we would receive a call the day prior to delivery. Our furniture finally arrived and we paid the driver the amount of money owed in cash as that was expected. There were two people that came with the moving van so they had to find some people here in our city to help them unload our furniture. Prior to unloading I was told that I had to sign the papers stating that my goods had arrived. Upon unloading we could see that many of the boxes we had packed were torn open or had damage to them. Numerous items of our furniture had been broken also. When they were finished unloading I soon realized that two of my ladders were missing and told the driver to no avail. We didn't realize at the time how bad it really was as the boxes were placed in the rooms where we wanted them but upon unpacking we were shocked as to how many things were broken and we soon learned that not only were our two ladders missing another five boxes of personal items were not there either. By the way our most expensive mirror a 5x7 $6,500.00 mirror was broken.
We immediately filed a claim against the moving company and this was back in April 2018, sent pictures of all the broken items and have just finally heard from them after all this time that our claim was denied and that it was referred back to the moving company. Wow, that's like the fox guarding the chicken coop. I was given a telephone number by the claims department of the moving co Move on Moving and was told to call them. Upon calling that number I got four choices and the only one that would work was claims. To my surprise that particular selection put me right back to the people that had referred my to the moving company. This has been a very unpleasant experience for us and continues to be. I would warn everyone not to use Long Distance Movers as they are not a moving company just someone to take your money and I sure as heck would not use Move On Movers. I hope this review helps someone and keeps you from spending money on sham movers. This was a tough lesson to learn. I have not finished with them as of this review.

This was my first time doing a cross country move. I decided to relocate from the east coast to the south for various reasons. I did research on several moving companies trying to find one that was reasonably priced and had good reviews. I decided to go with Long Distance Movers based off two positive reviews on yelp that had recently used them for a cross country move in my area. That was the worst mistake of my LIFE! Of course, everything started off smooth, everyone was pleasant and very helpful on the phone because they want your business (money). The branch that I dealt with (not sure if there are more around the US) was out of Delray, Fl. The agent that I worked with was Chris McGarry, again he was a very pleasant and helpful until the money was collected. Prior to my move I was quoted an estimate of $2821.47. I knew it would probably be more because they were basing it off weight. So, I put an extra $1000 aside (not expecting it to be that much of a difference since we went over my inventory several times) just in case. The movers arrived on moving day (July 24, 2018). I walked one of the guys around my 900ft one-bedroom apartment and showed him everything that I wanted them to take and what I wanted to be left behind. He did an inventory on everything an after that quoted me $4500 dollars for the move, and said half had to be paid up front and the other half on delivery. The quote left me totally flabbergasted. Heidi from quality assurance as well as Chris both told me that their quote was only an estimate and that it could change once the driver weighed my furniture at the checkpoint (or wherever they go to get the weight of the truck). So how can you just give me a random quote?! I immediately tried to contact Chris, since he told me if I needed anything or had any questions to give him a call or text him. I did both and of course no response or reply (I found this to funny since I was in constant contact with him prior to moving day and if he couldn’t talk to me right then he would send me a text). So, I called customer service and spoke with someone who basically just brushed me off and told me if I cancelled the moved I would lose my deposit that I gave them ($937). Obviously, my back was against the wall given the fact that I was due to start my new job within a week and had to be out my apartment in three days…To Shorten the story. Chris conveniently found time to call me back around 7pm that day (The movers arrived at 10am). I did let him know how displeased I was with the entire process and how deceitful and shady it felt. Per text book rhetoric he gave the fake apology and explained how (Stop & Move, LLC out of New Jersey) was a new company that they were working with blah blah blah. Very fake and insincere. My furniture arrived almost 3 weeks later not on the day they I was told by the mover that I would receive it. They (Stop & Move) had contracted my move out to another company (Express Delivery out of New York). Had no idea this was going to happen. My post bedroom set was badly damaged (scratches, nicks, and dings in the wood everywhere, the top of one of my post is broken), the dresser has nicks and dings in the wood, my fireplace on the bottom has several dings, and kitchen the table is pretty much unrepairable (to name a few). When the driver finally made it late that night, he reeked of alcohol and had to wait to get helpers. They were pleasant for the most part, but little did I know how badly they had damaged my furniture. My overall experience with this my company was TERRIBLE. I highly advise and caution everyone to stay away from these three moving companies. If you do decide to go with Long Distance Movers, make sure you don’t work with Chris, or Heidi and asked them to give you the companies(s) names ahead of time who they are contracting your move out to, so you can do your own research on them. I hope my horrible experience can avoid someone else from making the same mistake that I made by using this company.

This company is just a broker company and the moving company is different.
The person came to our apt for packing was so rude. He told me you shouldn't talk and your husband should only talk!! Because you are a woman!! How rude he is!! He broke one of our blade in the fan and said I will fix it later but he lied!!
Although he packed our stuff very good, but I got headache because he was so rude and unprofessional!!
They told us they delivered our stuff on Sep 7. Today is Sep 17 and we haven't received our stuff!! They are keeping our stuff in Ohio!! and we are living in an empty APT in TX!
Please avoid this company and not be fooled by their fake 5 stars review!!

I hired this company to conduct a cross country move. I hired what I thought was a moving company. But this is not a moving company but a moving broker. Which they don’t tell you. I paid them my deposit for my move then they subcontracted another scam of a company Golden Globe Movers. They do not research who they hire and once the actual mover picks up your goods This company disappears with your hard earn money. They company they contract for my move isn’t even legally by federal law due to their DOT# allowed to cross state lines with goods. But that does matter to Long Distance Movers Inc. The company parting line is we just find a mover and how much that mover charges you and how they move your goods is not our problem we already been paid. They were no help trying to solve my issues with the mover they contracted for the job and never returned my calls. Now I have a mover holding my house hold goods hostage and Long Distance Movers Inc is no where to be found. Do not work with these people or, like me be out $3200 and not have my house hold goods. They are a scam. I have filed complaints with every local state a federal agency possible.

I was not expecting the relocation service would be like this.
I was promised my item would be delivered with 7-14 business days, the reality was from the pick up date to the delivery day: 38 days. I called several times to customer services during June, nobody told me the truth. My stuff waited in NJ warehouse more than 30 days and it only took the driver less than a week from NJ-TX(7/2-7/8). After the delivery date, after opening all the boxes and checked on all items, I realized I lost several boxes of item and few small furniture. So I contacted the customer service again and was told they were not late for delivery since they came during the 21 days business day time framework. Why there was nobody never mentioned about this date when I signed the contract? I did not hear any voice from the contact with customer service shown they are willing to help BUT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY OFFER FROM THEIR SHOULDERS. They told me they will let me know when they hear any updates, but they never call. So I have to contact them again. I lost the items value than $1500, and they said they are willing to compensation $150..So think again before you choose the service.

DO NOT USE long distance movers!! DO NOT! DO NOT! DO NOT! They did a move for us a few months ago.

-Price went from under $5000 to $7283. Then they tried to make me pay another $500 something at pickup saying if not they can raise the price again at drop off.
-They charge by weight which seemed standard. They estimated over the phone saying my items like tables and sofas were 200-500 pounds. A lot of my items were maybe 20% of that actual weight they estimated for. They told me not to worry because they weigh the truck when it's loaded to get the exact weight and legally have to give me the signed paper with the official weight. They will get the final price off of that information..My quote was supposed to be for the most the move could possibly cost not actually cost.
-They refused to give me the signed form with the official weight at drop off
-Refused to give me any money back
-delivery guy said I was a few thousand pounds under the estimate so I should get some money back and to call the office about it
-Called and left messages. No one would call me back about it.
-A day before the delivery I was trying to get exact numbers and they told me..
1) I could no longer pay with a card and had to have cash at dropoff
2) If I can't pay cash by the next day they are going to put my belongings in storage for atleast a month and charge me an additional storage fee. Refused to give me exact weight of my belongings and just kept threatening me with more expenses.

Besides the frustration of them over charging me
-the pick up crew came 6.5 hrs late (they did a good job though)
-drop off crew took 11 hours to unload my things. keep in mind my home is barely over 2000 sq ft. (not very big). Also a lot of our furniture is from ikea so not heavy at all.
-4 hrs into it they were dying and looked sick.
-they left majority of our boxes in the garage so we had to carry them into our designated rooms. Tried leaving some dressers and other furniture in there as well but we asked them before they left to put those in the rooms.
-my husband put together most of the beds that they were supposed to put together
-They kept disappearing and would come back talking about how they were taking a break in the truck playing fortnite and watching youtube videos on it. I couldn't believe they would admit to something like that.
-because they were so fatigued they kept dropping things like bed frames down the stairs and hitting it into the walls.
-We have dings in our walls, dings in out railing. Both which we had just painted, and scuffed up floors.
-Also some off our things are broken. Like my son's wooden bed, arcade basketball hoop, sons wooden chair..

Anyways I could go on and on about how horrible they are! I just hope you will save your money, sanity, time, and belongings by not hiring them!

I haven't moved yet but am so upset with this company and myself. The original cost list was $1700 MORE from the orginal quote when I got the final inventory call yesterday. I realized that some items were left off, mainly a few totes which I which should NOT have added that much more cost and then he said they would need a bigger truck, costing me more. When I talked with the first guy for the original quote and checked off my own list.. he prompted me to sign the contract and pay while I was on the phone.. BIG MISTAKE. If I had taken a breath and gone over what he listed on HIS inventory in the email I would have double checked the inventory.. and realized the UNDER QUOTE and would have continued looking for another moving company. I'm not sure if he left off some items (like a heavy lazy boy and heavy garden stuff) on purpose.. these items were checked off on my OWN list when he went over the items verbally with me. So now it's too late to call and cancel.. but lessons learned .. NEVER sign until you've gone over the inventory list and compare what they send in the quote. Again.. I know I have my OWN checklist of inventory that I went over with him on the phone on the original quote and I have checked off items we went over VERBALLY on the phone but when I got the final call there were things left off.. I didn't notice on the email so I take responsibility for that..I'm so darn busy I felt comfortable at the time everything was VERY close in inventory. BUT the biggest mistake was paying for it after the VERBAL check. Now they are coming in two days to move me and I'll write another review after the move and see if they provide the service they said they would. The customer service gave me a 300 credit.. big deal. I was just about to call my credit card company for the original payment and say fraud because of the items left off.. but as I said I signed while I was on the phone with him and that was my biggest mistake. Do not sign until you take a breath and go over everything in the email of original inventory list. I ALSO plan to FOLLOW the van to the weigh station and see what the final weight is because now I don't trust them.

Giving this lying, low-life company a one star is a better rating then they deserve.
If they do answer your calls, they will lie to you about pickup and delivery. They hold your belongings hostage.

Worse than that, you will sign a contract with them agreeing to a price, then when the movers come, they will up-charge you. Personally, this up-charge was over 1,000 dollars.

They are cowards and liars, and should be out of business.

Hired a broker who hired One Way Van Lines. Picked up my stuff in Pittsburgh PA on 08/10/2018, delivery to California was set for 09/08/2018..today is 10/03/2018 and still NO stuff. They told me it was "estimated" to come last week, no calls. The movers nor the broker will call me back.
They told me on the phone "they do not like to get involved"..did I hire them to be involved?

I have been living out of a suitcase with a 20 month old baby for 54 days now.

If you would like to get scammed for a higher quote and unethical movers please call Long distance movers! Originally my fiance and I already booked a separate mover and when Greg from Long Distance called us back we informed him that his quote was too high and we decided to go with another mover. So Greg decided to use scare tactics to inform us that the movers we were initially using was actually in named something different in the past and they just rename themselves whenever their reviews become subpar. So in essence Greg was defaming another company. Ignorant to the industry, we believed him. We also mentioned to him the other movers we were using can do a large item deposal. in which he claimed our movers can as well. Forfeited our deposit and went with long distance movers. My advice to anyone and everyone moving is to lookup the company on the department of transportation website. If your movers are not registered in your state they outsource your job to another company. So all of these good reviews here is actually a facade. It is russian roulette about who you end up with. In my experience I ended up with Cobra Van Lines. He claimed in the morning of our move that he received a call the day before canceling our order. Um. No. Long distance movers called us to confirm and we said "No we did not say so". The mover comes in aggravated and mad because "he just flew in." Well, it is not my problem that his company was disorganized. I offered him coffee just so that he can pump up for our order. In the beginning of the order, I showed him where all the items were (parked on two sides of the kitchen wall and mentioned to him about the bed deposal). He acknowledged everything and asked us to sign the paperwork. Also, we paid him extra tip to dispose the bed. In the middle of the move, without notifying he was leaving - he left. He left behind half of our inventory. HALF. It was not that hard. Everything was parked by the wall. When we called back Long Distance, I was told by management that they cannot do anything about it. Great, he literally left and I immediately called. I was told by management my voice recording would be replayed to see if Greg ever promised about the bed deposal within 48hrs. It has been a month. She also went back and forth with me regarding items on the list that was not delivered. In the end I had to say we can go on all day about he said she said but on the list my vacuum cleaner, my boxes, my lamp, and a large picture frame was not loaded and that is the reality of the situation. They delivered the items today and my glassware is all damaged and I am missing a box that had my coffee maker, water boiler, toaster oven, and other misc kitchenware. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE SCARED INTO PAYING FOR A HIGHER FEE WITH AN UNETHICAL COMPANY PLEASE FEEL FREE TO GO WITH LONG DISTANCE! IF YOU WOULD LIKE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE PLEASE GO TO LONG DISTANCE! IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK WITH SALES WHO LIES ABOUT OTHER COMPANIES GO TO LONG DISTANCE. IF YOU WOULD LIKE HALF OF YOUR INVENTORY FORGOTTEN AND MYSTERIOUSLY MISSING GO TO LONG DISTANCE. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HEAR SNAPPY CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS AHEM NANCY PARELLA GO TO LONG DISTANCE. If you do decide to go to long distance do not book with GREG.

EDIT: I was just contacted by Annie regarding taking my post down for $400. If you see any bad reviews that just gets taken down it is either they tried to file with Google review or Yelp to have it removed or they paid off the client. She even emailed me saying I have tried everything to rectify the situation so you should remove your review. This is after I denied her $400 offer to remove my review.

I originally went online looking for a long distance moving company, I filled some form out and I instantly received about 10 movers calling me for my business. When Zack from long distance movers explained to me the whole process, I knew I had found the company I was going with. He was so clear on how every step was going to work. The day the movers showed up was exactly how he said it was going to be. My new furniture was delivered in 3 days to my new home. I was very impressed with the movers. They did such a great job.

Recently I plugged my name in online, I figured it would be simple. I was wrong almost 2 dozen companies called my phone! I was done with the whole "shopping for movers" thing, until a friendly bubbly representative named Mitch from Long Distance Movers called. I have no clue why I stayed on the phone because I had already gathered enough quotes to make a decision. I am glad I did! The whole process from beginning to end was an absolute breeze. I had one concern that was met at 9pm west coast time which was phenomenal. I would highly recommend LD Movers.
