Local move within New Jersey

Great Move.

Had a great move from Jersey City to Hoboken the guys were fast and very professional. I had forgotten to reserve parking in Hoboken so the guys parked 2 blocks away and still completed my move in the estimated time, it was the best experience I've ever had moving.. Thanks guys!!

Long-distance move from New Jersey to North Carolina

Worst Comapny, a bunch of theives.

These guys will pull a bait and switch, do not be lured in by their low quote. They will cheat you, destroy your stuff and not deliver when they promise to do so. Do your self a favor, go with the higher priced quote, than dealing with this company. You will regret it if you ignore this warning.

Great work and good people.

Before finding this company, I was very afraid with the experiences with the different movers and stories about. While talking to David it was very nice and promising. he explained how to get the the correct estimate by just all giving small or big items with proper count. Although I have changed my inventory list at last time but David managed it with the same price.
Than I had constraints of morning pickup and same day delivery, the company managed it so well that just I have to say "Great work", they delivered my house hold without any lost or even without a small breakage. the truck guys were very very professional and managed everything greatly. All the best for the company..

Long-distance move from New York to Texas

Bad experience.

I select this company after searching online reviews.they offered free packing for tv. I had two tv.I didn't get my 1tv back when they delivers my stuff.my kitchen dishes were broken.they packed my wall mirrors which was also broken.my 1 lamp shade was missing.I used Home Depot boxes which r durable.I received them in bad condition.this is not the company u can trust .

Great American Van Lines moved me from NJ to Florida with no hassle. This is a great company, they delivered exactly what they promised ON TIME!! Movers were profesional and quick. They packed everything and everything arrived without damages. The crew were extremly helpful and friendly. I would recomend them to anyone who moves.

Long-distance move from New York to Illinois

Worst moving experience ever!

I moved to five different places during my college years, and another five during my 11 years in New York City, and this was by far the worst moving experience! Up front they put on a great face..giving an extremely low quote, which proved to be bait, and proactively communicating, albeit lie after lie. We submitted every piece of furniture that was to be moved and received a quote of approximately $1,200. Afterward we sent a spreadsheet detailing the cubic dimension of each item and the quote came back stating 438 cubic feet costing $1,323. After the final quote we asked Adam on at least five occassions if there were any other fees or expenses that we should expect..he repeatedly said no. If you only have the items you submitted the end cost will be very close to the estimate. In the end the cost was over $1,000 more ($2,412 before tip)! When the movers came to pick up our furniture they charged us $500 for plastic wrap?! This after we asked Adam multiple times if ther were any additional charges for the move and he repeatedly said no?! They also said our furniture took up 700 cubic feet in the moving truck! They quoted 438 cubic feet originally..after we sent them a spreadsheet with the cubic dimensions?! I was able to talk the movers down to only charging for 600 cubic feet..I had to move out of my building that day so my hands were tied. They purposely lied up front to get us interested, they lied during the negotiating period to win our business, they lied at the end saying we made this all up. I have no reason to lie and want to share my experience because I don't want this to happen to anyone else..not even my worst enemy. .

Excellent!

We had a perfect experience moving. The movers were very professional and so careful with our items. They were on time and our items were delivered in the exact same condition they left! No damages. They took extra time to make sure things were placed correctly. The entire staff was great and I would use them again in a heartbeat!

We had never used a moving company before so we were a bit nervous about our stuff. They did such a great job! All our stuff was in perfect condition, they were on time and very professional. Moving Across Country.

This was a big move for us. We moved from Cambridge MA to Palo Alto CA. We did not have a lot of furniture or items, but what we did have is very important to us. The moving company treated us and our possessions with great care and concern. I would recommend them to any one!

I did comprehensive research before choosing a van line, while not the cheapest, they offered the most comforting and professional phone service and tips regarding my move. My excellent experience.

I moved from New Jersey to Illinois. The pick up was on time it took them three hours to pack and load my entire house. They promised me up to ten day delivery an ft hey delivered everything in only 5 days. The staff were all respectful an friendly. The price was great. I will recommend Great American Van Lines to anyone!

Terrible And Shady Business. Missing Belongings.

THIS COMPANY IS TERRIBLE. CHOOSE WISELY WHEN MOVING YOUR BELONGINGS IF YOU CARE ABOUT SEEING THEM AGAIN. I MOVED FROM NYC TO SOUTH FLORIDA AND SO MANY OF MY BELONGINGS WERE MISSING. I DIDNT KNOW UNTIL AFTER THE DELIVERY. I WASNT SUPER ANGRY AS MUCH AS I JUST WANTED TO WORK WITH THEM TO FIND WHERE MY STUFF COULD BE..THINKING IT WAS AN HONEST MISTAKE. WELL, IT WASNT. AFTER MULTIPLE CALLS AND SPEAKING TO SO MANY PEOPLE THE SECRETARY ACCIDENTALLY TELLS ME THAT ON THE INVOICE PAPER SHE HAS IT SAYS THERE WERE BOXES MISSING. OH REALLY?? INTERESTING SINCE I WAS THERE WHEN THEY MADE THE DELIVERY AND I WAS NEVER TOLD THAT. INITIALLY THE GUY IN THE OFFICE SAID HE DIDNT KNOW WHO DELIVERED MY STUFF CAUSE THEY HIRE OUT TO TRUCK COMPANIES TO DELIVER THINGS. THEN IN ANOTHER CALL HE SAYS HE SPOKE WITH THE TRUCK DRIVER ( AND DESCRIBED WHAT HE LOOKED LIKE)..WHICH HE DIDNT CAUSE I DUG UP THE DRIVERS NUMBER FROM WHEN HE CALLED ME AND THE GUY SAID HE DIDNT K NOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT CAUSE HE'D BEEN OUT OF THE COUNTRY. OF COURSE HE SAID HE HAD NO IDEA WHERE MY STUFF COULD BE. I FILED A CLAIM WITH THEIR CLAIM COMPANY CSI AND THEY DID NOTHING EITHER. I MEAN THE WHOLE THING IS A COMPLETE SCAM. ITS SO SHADY AND THEY'RE CLEARLY ALL WORKING TOGETHER. IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR BELONGINGS I WOULDNT USE THIS COMPANY EVEN IF ITS YOUR "CHEAPER" OPTION. THERES A REASON FOR THAT. YOU'LL BE LOSING MORE IN THE END.

Punctual.

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with this company .They met us on time up in Boston, packed us up safely, moved us to Tampa and kept our stuff on their truck until the day we said we would move in. They even delivered about 5:30 pm in the after noon just so they could deliver it on the day we needed it . Highly recommend.

Overall, I've been very happy and impressed
