I have never written a negative review but I needed to write this one to hopefully spare another person from dealing with this company. The first call is very pleasant and they "act" as though they are a company that puts the customer first. Your quote will be very reasonable and they encourage you to call if you have any concerns or need any help with the moving process. Then, a couple days before your move they change the price by almost double the amount and sub your job out to an inept local moving company in your current town. The delivery takes 3 times as long as promised and once they have your deposit they will never return your call and if you do get ahold of someone they are extremely rude and threaten to cancel your move. Horrible, horrible company that should be put out of business...DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE!!

This company is a scam, they are mid-representing their services on the phone and requiring enormous deposits to schedule a date. They will say let’s just get a date and we can move it to accommodate you. Then they when you go to secure the move, you discover that they do not do what they say they will in the set-up call. Be wise, look at the “F” BBB rating and the advisory on this company. Please do your research and use a reputable company that is not out to taking advantage of people using dishonest contract practices. The contract contradicts everything they will tell you on the phone. And none of the other company’s we called as we had to move to a real company did not require a contract or a 3,600k deposit to hold a supposed movable date- the “let’s just get a date on here”, we can move it we will accommodate your needs. This company is employing unethical and dishonest practices.

Do NOT under any circumstances use this company. First off, they are a broker, not a moving company. Find yourself a moving company local to you that has an office you can walk into. I contracted with them in May 2021 for a late June move from Idaho to Kentucky. They took a sizeable deposit and don't take credit cards, which was the first red flag. I was told by Ross Anderson that he would be my rep the entire process, which was a complete lie, the first of many. After signing up you MUST go through their customer service, which is a complete joke. On pick-up day, June 30, we were called to say our move had to be delayed until at least July 9. We didn't have much choice but to accept it. On July 8 we were given the name of the movers, which turned out to be a brand new company and we came to find out, not registered for interstate moves or insured. HELL no!!! We fired them and demanded our deposit back. It was approved and "promised" to be returned by July 27, which it was not. Only after weeks of phone calls, emails, a consult with an attorney and legal threats did we receive our deposit back, TWO MONTHS LATE on Sept. 27. I fully believe they intended to keep my money and thought I would just take it. They were wrong. We ended up having to hire another mover on short notice at a higher cost of several thousand dollars. We are still considering legal action and want to see them out of business. I repeat, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! Their positive reviews are probably fake. There needs to be a zero star option.

Do NOT ever do business with Gold Standard Moving and Storage. They will take your fee and lie about the services that will be provided. In my case, they brokered my move to a company that had actually lost its license three weeks prior (according to the better business bureau website). I was quoted 3,020 and paid about 4,300. Furniture and a flatscreen were lost or stolen. What items did show up (a month after “delivery date”) were carelessly dumped in my entry way in between the crew’s cigarette smoking. Avoid this company at all costs. I have no reason to lie.

I feel that we need to do something about Gold Standard Storage and Moving. I urge you to file a complaint with Florida and if enough people are interested, we can file a class-action lawsuit. Please ask anyone with similar experiences to do the same. Here is the link for making the complaint:

Mon, Sept 26 @ 6:40pm, I signed the contract over the phone with Stanley, who repeated several times I had 3-days to cancel. I also already provided my bank account # for an ACH transfer of $674.

Same night, I read the reviews that said GS failed to pick up on time and/or delivered items weeks or months later and/or delivered damaged items. I immediately wrote to Sarah and Bruce to ask to cancel my reservation. Next day, I called GS to cancel, which said: no cancellation if it is less than 5 days from the first pickup date, Stanley misspoke, I would lose my deposit if I canceled, and assured me that they will pick up and deliver on time.

Thurs, Sept 30 @ 6:00pm, I received a call from the driver's manager, Michael Parrish, who said pick-up on Sun. I told him my last pick-up date is Fri, per contract. He said he misspoke and his driver will call me with the pick-up time on Fri. I received no calls. I called Michael @8:59pm, who said his driver should call me right away. No calls received. From 10:01-10:14pm, I called Michael several times, no answer. I texted him @10:21pm that I will be traveling on Fri and shared my brother's phone number. Michael replied "Ok" @10:23pm, proving that he ignored my calls.

Fri, Oct 01 @12:04pm, my brother still had not received any calls from them. @ 4:18-4:19pm, I called Michael several times and was sent to voicemail. I then called Stanley's direct number @ 4:50pm and could not reach him. I then called GS general#. The agent told me he will email the movers and call me back once he heard from them. Sat @12:16pm, Michael texted me saying his driver will pick up my items on Sun morning. I reminded him of our first call during which I told him my last pick-up date was FRI. He was clearly stalling me. I heard nothing on Sun, from anyone. Mon, Oct 04, I emailed GS detailing the events and asked for a refund. I then called to re-explain the situation and asked for my refund since they violated the contract. They told me they have to investigate to make sure the driver never picked up my items.

Tues, Oct 5 @ 6:29pm, I get a call from a driver to pick up my items the next morning. I told him that must be a mistake because GS is working to refund my money. I called GS, who was closed. The next day, the driver calls me but I was @ work. I later called GS about my refund. GS said dispatch will get back to me right away. They didn't.

Thurs, Oct 07, 4:28pm, I called GS heatedly to get a timeline so that I know when to get my lawyers involved. After 30 minutes of arguing, I hung up. 2 hours later, they called several times but I was @ a doctor's appointment. They then sent an email saying "Refund Approved!" I call the next day to understand when they will send me my refund. They said 4-6 weeks and then spent the next 10 minutes arguing with me about how that's their policy and I just have to accept it. I asked the agent what he would do if he were in my position. He said this would never happen to him…

GS are scammers. They are taking advantage of people, using our money without paying zero interest on it. They need to be taken down. Please file a complaint and let's work together on a class-action lawsuit.

Today, GS called me saying "We saw that you were looking for someone to help you move". I said you were supposed to help me move but you never showed up. They hung up on me.

Specifically Tiffany West! I had damaged and missing items. GS sends me to their claims department. HOWEVER, the claims department DOESN'T service the mover they provided! I am stuck in the same loop over and over again. I email Tiffany west, I've explained the problem, sent her the emails from their claims company showing they do not service that mover, she bluntly just sends back the claim department info. The mover showed up with zero help to unload, my family and I had to do most of the unloading. The bed wasn't assembled etc....They take your money and then you are screwed. I've been dealing with this since July! I will update if this is ever resolved. BEWARE OF GOLD STANDARD!!!

Best I can say is they need to change their name to: Gold rip-off and dirt standard! the company only cares about colleting non-refundable deposits promise high and deliver low. they are a outsourcing company so once they get you roped into contract NONREFUNDABLE. they send you to where they are hands off and they got their money no need to help you! they won't answer phones but when they do you can hear other workers there (fact: laughing to others and stated," this lady wants a refund! ha ha ha, they all laughed) I told the person I was speaking to that I heard it and think it very unprofessional. but they already had me for 7,000. and I was cost restricted to take my business elsewhere. We were picked up 8/23/21 by a wonderful team of workers. Everything has gone to pot since. we call every day for a date (today is 10/11/21) still no set time for us from Arena Van Lines out of NJ. All we deal with is non caring people. I was told by driver 8/23 I would have my things 9/3/21 so I had them take my medical supplies to work a reservation in dire need of my Cert. Wound Care nursing but there is still NO delivery date in site. the Indians I care for are suffering because this company has no human feelings for others!!! I need my medical supplies to help others! They are all in the storage getting ruined.

One of the worst decisions in my life was to use this company. THEY ARE REAL SCAMMERS! so be aware!

Like many others here, they started out with a quote of about 4k to move from Boston to FL. A few days before the move they had to do inventory, but they didn't send anyone to do this. I had to do it over the phone and take pictures of everything. They added another 6k to my initial quote. By then I had already given a deposit and needed to move, so didn't have the time to contract another company even if that meant that I was going to loose the deposit, it would have been worth it.

They sent out a truck that was not big enough, even after the inventory. I ended up loosing a lot of money on things that didn't fit in the truck. I had to give away and through away a lot of stuff that I will have to buy again.

Not to mention that I called them to find out where is my stuff, they tell me that it takes from 5 to 14 business days from the day you choose to have your things deliver. Another shady thing, which I thought that they will deliver by the date you had given them.

If you are looking to move, please run away from this company because you will be trapped and no good customer service, but a bunch of incompetent people that are probably celebrating how they scammed you out of your money. This company should not be in business period!
