I contracted this company to move me from CA to TX, after speaking to the broker, I got a quote and assured me he will be available to answer any issues with the move. A day before my pick up window, nobody called me so after waiting for 45 minutes Customer service told me they will send someone the next day.

I get a call with less than 12 before the pick up date. The guys basically knock on my door, speaking in another language to tell me they will not take my things for the price that was agreed on that they were going to charge me 1300- 1500 dollars more and did not care what the broker said. I had even sold the couch that was in my quote, and the guy was counting more boxes than there were just to make excuses to charge me more. I called the borke, nowhere to be found. I called customer service,after1hour, they stated they will send me someone else. Nobody ever came to pick up my things. I called customer service, no answer. I had to make last minute changes and get boxes to move my things, and pay extra days of rent. Be aware of the scam, they will dont let you use a credit card so that they can keep your money after they never show up. I sent multiple messages and emails and txt messages to the analyst who never responded. Don't let them take your money, they hire random sketchy companies who straight up tell you they will charge you more and don't care what the broker said.

The company needs to be investigated, they use questionable people to transport your things. Please don't use this company, they will lure you by telling you to look at their reviews in the BBB and that the cases are closed, or speak trash about other companies. Please don't be a victim!

Do not use this company, gold standard moving is only the broker they hired a company called Road to load to move my furniture on arriving truck driver went through the house determined it was a full load and raised the price from $7,000 some odd dollars to $12,000 after loading the truck to look like a full load truck never use the inventory sheets by gold standard movie he left headed to the delivery site there he was by his self and no one to help . I had to find two guys to help also demanded full payment or he would leave with our furniture and my handicap equipment being very weak with muscle dystrophy became a little unnerved . After unloading he was ready to leave. He didn't .finished putting my bed together and had I to struggle with my wife's help to get in a bed which was much taller it was very painful.

We then discover a broke leg on a family airline dining room table and numerous items left at the other house . We are seeking retribution but may have to a lawyer . Beware do not use this company . How can you leave a disabled person without a bed to sleep in because you're late for another job.

So much to say but the bottom line is this company doesn’t do the moving. They higher company’s which I might add are crooks to move. They picked up daughters belongings on June 11, 2021, it is now August 1, 2021 and still nothing. Both Golden standard and the company they outsourced to said 7 days. They never said they were outsourcing. We’ve been calling golden standard and the so called driver and we are getting the run around. I’ve spoken to my attorney’s office and he has informed us it’s time to pursue legal action. I am begging you to not use this company. They do nothing and hire crooks that take your money and don’t deliver. I am infuriated. This company needs to be shut down and held accountable along with the crooks they work with.

On September 27, 2021, I arranged for a move from Utah to Kansas City. Between September 27th and October 9th I called the 2 phone numbers, 754-241-2824 and 754-241-2805 a total of 13 times. The phone reply was "that extension is currently not available and the mailbox is full and no longer taking messages". So much for good customer service.

On October 6th, $4,000.00 was charged to my account. In a discussion with their customer service representative , 1-888-220-8664, I was told there would be no refund because the service was cancelled on October 11, 2021. The service person could not determine who had cancelled the "service", which may or not be true. The fact that she could not or would not determined future illustrates the fact the organization appears to be incompetent or prone by corporate policy to misrepresent, both bad business policies. When I asked about who was the president, or Chief Operating Officer the answer was "I don't know". When asked if she was an employee the answer was "Yes".

The fact that I attempted to contact this company 13 different times, received no reply and was then told good luck we will not refund your money illustrates they are incompetent, fail to disclose information about their service or lie.

LIARS, THIEVES, & CHEATS. Gold Standard Movers misrepresented themselves as a mover, extorted us for twice the $$ estimate we agreed on, moved our delivery date multiple times with no communication, and delivered our items late and damaged. We scheduled a late August interstate move across and were given an estimate of just over $1,200. We were told payment methods of cash, personal check, or cashiers check were acceptable. We confirmed our pickup date and payment methods one week before the move. The day of the move, AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT COMPANY they contracted arrived to do the work. They were 3 hours late with no explanation or communication and did not have our estimate or delivery information. They insisted on a new contract AND cash only payment of over $2400 — including charges for packing tape, padded blankets, walking 1 item down 1 flight of stairs, parking, and a mandatory $200 tip. That's more than double our binding estimate. When we asked about the charges they didn't explain or even give us a Bill of Lading. We paid the cash because we wanted our items to be safe, and went to Gold Standard for help. They told us we should have known that the estimate wasn't binding, cash was the only acceptable payment method, and that we should have known they were a broker who hired other companies. ALL 3 OF THOSE PIECES OF INFORMATION ARE FALSE given our previous conversation with them. After no additional responses despite repeated follow-up on our part, we received our items 3 weeks late and damaged. If you want your items handled correctly, use another company.

STAY AWAY FROM GOLD STANDARD MOVING AND STORAGE!

- They gave a binding estimate and the movers charged us DOUBLE that amount once it was on the truck (which is illegal)

- They hired out movers that are rated D- on BBB, who cheated us out of our money. When we complained, Gold Standard essentially told us to stick it up our ass

- They gave us incorrect information throughout the process, including price, payment options, dates and times

- The movers were late for pick-up, and weeks late on delivery

- The movers extorted us out of a specific, gigantic tip once our possessions were on the truck

- Half of our furniture was damaged during the move

Please, whatever you do, DO NOT USE GOLD STANDARD MOVING!

PLEASE do not use this company for a move! I was told that my furniture would be picked up on Oct 27 in Raleigh and delivered on Nov 2-4 in Tulsa with no stops. Last on the truck and first off. HA!! The Customer Rep took my deposit, had to be Zelle, they do not accept credit cards; red flag. The truck driver called me to tell me that my furniture would be taken to Lynchburg, VA and would be placed in a warehouse until there was availability to move it to Tulsa.

I called customer service and the agent told me to stop interrupting him and asked why I had so many questions! He would not let me talk to a superior. I am now fighting to get my deposit money back. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Read all of the reviews.....I feel lucky that my stuff isn't being gone through....I have a new mover now. Much more professional and helpful.

I was very disappointed in this company. At first, they appeared genuinely concerned about the quality of my move and movers. I didn’t realize they were brokers-my first mistake. Christian seemed genuinely interested in making my move a pleasant experience. My first estimate was low as I hadn’t moved in years. About 4 days days before my pickup on Aug. 16th, Frederick called and I gave him the total numbers and sizes of totes and boxes. I also gave him all dimensions of what few pieces of furniture I was taking. He estimated about 667 cu ft. He assured me the company they brokered me with would treat me with white gloves-ha! When SM Relo LLC picked up my things, they (Quinn) said it was 1000cu ft (over a third more than Gold Standards final estimate) so it would be another $2000. The review of that company will be later. Needless to say, I wasn’t happy. They told me Gold Standard had underestimated (even though I provided all dimensions) and I need to complain to them.

. His words were “you either pay it or lose the $1780 you put down at the beginning”. He did say he would take only the 667 cu ft and leave the rest. What a guy. He was down right rude. He told me to call my broker to complain about it. I did try to do that including several emails, but received no response from anyone. When my things arrived broken, damaged, or just missing completely, I tried to contact both companies-again no response. I know Gold Standard didn’t deliver my things but they picked a terrible company to broker with. Had one of them at Gold Standard even responded to my calls and emails, it might have changed my rating for them. Nothing will change the rating on SMRelo. If you don’t want your things broken or even not delivered move them yourself. Do not use these companies as neither care about you or your move.Their lack of communication is mind blowing. When we decided to go with this moving company it was all a sales pitch. Nobody came and measured anything that we were moving from Kansas to Texas. We sold a lot of stuff that was on our moving list before the movers got to the house. When the subcontractor movers arrived at house they didn't want to take everything that we had unless we paid more money. The extra money cost me over $1600 and they still didn't take everything. If you like getting screwed with out a kiss go ahead and hire this company. It was a total joke and will never recommend to anyone. They even talked about being a ex military run company since we lived by Fort Riley which is probably bullshit also. When trying to get ahold of someone to resolve the issue you call the number and get a voice mail to text cause they weren't open when trying to call. You text and they don't get back with you but call the driver that they contracted out to do the move. Very unprofessional in my eyes. They lied to us about the delivery dates also which was a big pain in the ass do to being 600 miles away. It was supposed to be 7-10 working day before delivery and our stuff was with another move which was fine but wasn't the case. Do your investigating before hiring any moving company.

I have never written a negative review in my life, but I feel compelled to hopefully help someone else. This company is a scam. Your first conversation will be pleasant, they will give you a great quote, then shortly before your move they will turn things on you. We got a call very shortly before our move date that they were changing our date. They didn’t give us any other option than accept the new date, even though it was hugely inconvenient. Then they changed our estimate wildly (by 33%) even though we only added a few minor items to our inventory. When I called to discuss these last minute changes their customer service representatives were extremely rude and unprofessional. They actually laughed and told me that I should be grateful they gave us a heads up that our date was changed! Every single customer service representative has been exceptionally unprofessional. I’ve never dealt with a company like this in my life! They also wait until after your cancellation window has closed to start making these changes to your move, so that you are over a barrel.
