Best Mover!

These movers are incredible! I used them to move twice within VA, and they were very professional, careful with my furniture, and friendly. My parents also commented on how happy they were with the service. I would highly recommend it to anyone moving in this area, and it made my moves stress-free.

Booked through Gold Standard .. the name is a joke..they have the lowest standard and are the lowest people on the totem pole.They assigned me Infinity Movers.. Neither company answers the phone or returns calls after they get your money. They have 4,500 of my money and all of my personal belongings . Most importantly my photos. How can people be soooo dishonest. I'm reporting them to the police , FBI, BBB. Who ever I can . This is no exaggeration . They should not be allowed to conduct business. Let's see how they respond to me . I am also a senior, with a heart condition . They are thieves. I put 1 star because they had no minus stars!

Dishonest from the start

Run, don’t walk, from this company based on my experience. If you refuse to pay for double or triple the estimate when they show up, they call it “refusal of service” and don’t move a single thing, even after being paid thousands of dollars. So based on my experience they will rob you one way, or the other.

Bait and switch

They are less then zero. True bait and switch company. They lied on everything. They said they would beat my estimate from my last mover. There price changed 3 times. Glade I told others who where moving not to use them.

They are deceiving

DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT do any business with this company. All the negative reviews are 100% accurate. We just had our experience with them a few days ago. Yes, they are a broker so they sell the contract to another company that upon arrival charge you way more than you were quoted. They are unprofessional and a rip off. The agent that spoke with us, Andrew Hill, sounded very professional on the phone making it look like we dont have anything to worry about. We TOLD him, we have a 4 bedroom house and a full garage and an upright piano. He said, is no problem, we usually send 4-5 people the day of the move and we have a lift for the piano. HA, what a joke. They contracted to WePack Uship(i will get to them in a minute) who showed with only 2 guys and a 26ft truck!! Really!! Then in top of all that, we were told that we didnt pay for the entire truck; only 3/4. Again, really? When I was very specific and told them what we had. They said, well, we give you a quote for XXXX cubic feet. We are like, we dont move like this all the time, how am I supposed to know how much room it will take, THAT IS YOUR JOB!!!! And Andrew Hill was nowhere to be found the day of the move. I called him a few times (we straight to voicemal) and send an email. No response as of today.

So after much discussion with them, we were left at our luck. WePackUship was no better; only good thing about them was that what they ended up packing was well packed. At the end of the original packup we had to pay an extra $1300 due to their negligence plus I had to rent a UHAUL truck to pack the rest of our household goods and drive them up to Maryland, which cost and additional $1000 after it was all said and done.

Upon arrival at my location, the foreman for WePackUship told my wife that they dont deliver boxes upstairs that since they didnt pack it, they wont put it upstairs. I was, what? Then he brings out a piece of paper showing that. That particular piece of paper, before I signed it, I asked him and said "we have stairs in the new house" he said "dont worry about that, that is if we have to park the truck a further distance and climb an extra amount of stair". So taking him word, I signed. BIG MISTAKE!!! They offloaded all of our belongings from the truck, left all the boxes on the first floor and that was it. When I confronted him yesterday, he gave me this look like "what are you talking about". It was hard not to loose my cool and do something that would have gotten me in trouble.

So, ended up spending over $7000 on a move that we ended up doing a lot of work that we were trying to avoid in the first place.

SO, AVOID Gold Standard Moving and Storage at all cost and dont trust WePackUship. They are dishonest companies.

Scam

They initially provided a quote for the itemized list , took the solid deposit and on the day of move they send some random drivers , who ask 3 or 4times the money they quoted on the contract signed. Even on negotiation they won’t do move anything for the price quote provided. charged me on deposit their driver came and never moved or packed anything , no service , took my money ..,unresponsive complete scam!

Beware Guardian Group canceled the bond for Gold Standard Moving and storage. FMCSA will cancel the authority shortly. Total scam. 310-320-0320 to file your claim before it is too late. Insurance name The Gray Casualty & Surety Company. Under FMCSA act 48 USC 13906. Please file your claims. Class lawsuit is coming in 2022!

Took my money 6 months ago, still no refund

I scheduled a move 6 months ago. They did not cancel the move, I called a day before the move and they said they had no brokers. I ended moving myself.

They took a direct deposit of $1238 which was never returned to me. Six months later, I still don't have my money back.

Fake Reviews

This company is a scam, do not give them your money, do not play a deposit.

It has been 5 months and I am still waiting for my refund. I got lucky and cancelled my move with these thieves prior to them picking up any of my things, but others weren’t as lucky.

They just cheat people ... avoid them

They quote you the lowest price then collect the deposit from you & then increase their price. If you disagree to pay the additional then they will never refund you. If you agree then you will end up paying 2 to 3 times than the agreed amount. Stay away from them.

Scammers that Cheat!

Stay away from them! They will ask for an estimate of what you want moved. They collect the deposit and if you add one additional thing they will triple the price! We lost almost $1,000 because they would not refund us when we decided we could not afford their "new" price, three times what we were originally quoted! They are a bait and switch operation. The modest movers delivered my belongings after 5 weeks, and had missing wardrobe box, 6’ step ladder, massage table and other articles. The movers took no responsibility for the missing belongings. Move your belongings yourself.

TRAUMATIC "moving" experience

We trusted this company with a long distance move from CA to NJ, and I have never had such a traumatic experience with an "organization" in my life. When we first called they were super professional on the phone and they went over everything with a really friendly representative, and really put us at ease. We signed a contract and we put down a down payment, and set up our move with them. We had to leave the state about 2 weeks before our belongings were to be picked up, so we had a friend hold onto our 30 boxes/containers for us in the meantime...

They gave us a call about a week before the pickup window just to confirm the # of boxes, which continued to put us at ease. When the pickup window came and went with 0 communication from the company, and with our belongings never being picked up I called them. This is when it all starts to break down. Gone were the pleasant professional reps from before, and now enters a busy call center where in the background you can hear other agents literally arguing with people over the phone. STILL our agent told us "sorry we got busy with COVID and all these moves" and they said we can setup a new pickup window ( a week later) and perhaps get a discount for our troubles. Now at this point we are already across the country with ONLY what we were able to fit in our car. I said fine, and we setup a new window. Spoiler alert! That window came and went with no pickup and NO communication. I called and someone tells me "Oh your route has been dissolved so we won't be getting your things." ....Ummmm what? So I asked if there was a chance to setup a new window? "no." Will we be getting a refund and when? They said basically at some point. We were shocked and infuriated obviously and they offered NO explanation of when we'd get our refund and then the line gets muted and they begin texting me that they have to "restart their phone service" We call back and an EXTREMELY rude rep yells at us and tells us "you'll get the refund when you get it, I dont know what you dont understand about that?" No timeframe, nothing in writing, no guarantee. This is when I started to do more research (which we should have done prior.) They have a class action lawsuit against them, over 200 complaints on the BBB, and when I look at all of their reviews closely, the positive ones, In my opinion, seem very generic as do the "photos." The negative ones seem VERY authentic and mirror my experience or worse.

We called again and asked someone to send us something in writing promising us a refund and we got something sort of generic from them after a 60 minute argument. I then had to try to file a fraud claim with my bank JUST to be able to temporarily get my funds back so I can pay rent - at that point we have been without our things (or our deposit!) for months, and having to spend money we dont have to replace items that are sitting across the country, and somehow save for a new move? PS: from my understanding, a DEPOSIT is not the money of the company until the service is rendered, and should be kept in a SEPARATE account that should not be touched until the contract is complete...so why should anyone have to wait AT ALL for the deposit to be refunded? Because they are hoping people aren't as tenacious as they need to be to get it back.

Long story but it took me calling them EVERY week (and my bank) including a few three way calls with my bank (by the way they refuse to tell you who they do their banking with as though you don't have the right to know where YOUR money is....) for over 7 months in order to finally get my refund. I'm 100% positive that if I wasn't such a maniac about it, I'd NEVER see that money again. It's been almost a year and we were finally able to get our belongings picked up by a reputable organization. This place is a MAJOR scam and I urge you to really read the reviews and other people's experiences with a critical eye before going ahead and being lured by the price - I PROMISE, it IS too good to be true.

Be very wary. I set up a move in Aug 2021 and put a deposit down, cancelled 3 days later and still have not received my refund in almost a year (currently July 2022).

They were only friendly and professional during the intial process and have been unresponsive to calls and emails to their support.

Still Waiting on refund

2021, moving from MN to WI. Forced to put down cash deposit, credit cards not allowed. Cancelled within 3 days. Still nothing. received the same exact emails as other reviewers. Please contact the FL Attorney General's office to file a complaint if this happens to you! I am a senior and they scammed me out of my hard earned money! Very sad.
