Long-distance move from Boulder, CO to Gallagher, WV

TwoTime Customer.

I’m happy to say that this was the second time that I used to first call relocations. The first time went so well that I figured I’d give them another shot, and they did not disappoint. Similar to the first time around we put together an accurate list, described all the packing that was needed, and discuss the dates that I desired. I had to be out of my home at the end of the month and I was able to secure those dates. The movers showed up on time just as planned and proceeded to work through my home. The moving men had shoe covers on their feet and work gloves so they would not track any dirt or get marks on my walls. They are extremely friendly with the customers and at no point did I feel on comfortable while they were in my home or in transit. I would frequently get calls from the dispatch department telling me when to expect them for my delivery. It felt good knowing exactly where my furniture was. Even though it is all material things it is my whole entire life and a truck and I wanted to make sure that he was in good hands. I’ve worked with other movers in the past and never had the experience that I had but the first call relocations. I don’t even bother calling around to get quotes or have movers come to my home to give me a price I just called them direct. They are my preferred mover and treat me better each and every time I use them. Seriously a dream mover.

Total Scam & Do Not Use.

Do not use at any cost. I would have given them a zero a gazzilion times if it would have allowed me too. PLEASE STAY AWAY. They will be nice & give you a very nice quote send you all the paper work with quotation along with terms of service. I read it all & paid my deposit along with expedited delivery. A week after I paid, our move dates & plans changed, I notified them accordingly. I gave them a call & also email as told in the terms. I was then told that the deposit will be fully refunded back to us. I waited for a week before calling them back but was told that the company policy was the check are only cut out on the 1st and 15th. I understood & waited because it was past the 15th of October and I knew that I will be able to get it on the 1st of November. November came and I called them back but Delilah told me that Jordan the person handling our request for refund is on vacation and was told to call back, I called them two weeks after yet he was still on vacation. On the last week of November I called them & Jordan finally responded but he told me that the check will cut on the 1st. Here we are in December again and we have not received any refund for our refund. I called back on the 6th to tell them that we haven’t received anything in the mail as they told it will be send on a business day since the 1st was on a Saturday but Delilah told me that Jordan has extended his vacation, he is up north. It’s been 3 months now and I am kindly asking people who are moving & looking for movers please STAY AWAY from this company. They will lie to you & they do not live up to the terms they provide. I wish I knew better. This company needs to be banned, Delilah needs to learn how to serve customers. We are still waiting for our $931.70. Please look for another moving company & read the past reviews before using the company.

Try them!

The best company we narrowed it down to was First Call. We liked the feedback we found obline and all the credentials they provided to us and our complex. They coordinated every step of the move including reservation of the elevator. Our goods shipped safely door to door and our home was left clean and undamaged. We’ve used other moving companies in the past this was the best experience we’ve had. They do as they say and we are happy to refer them.

There were companies comeing outta the woods. I stumbled across First Call who made sure evrything went smooth. The move and the price were a no hassle strssfree process.

I am very pleased I was given the option to find a company on my own. Thank you First Call.

Long-distance move from Manahawkin, NJ to Tampa, FL

I love the sunshine state.

I spoke with numerous moving company’s and came across Wyatt at First call relocations. He was knowledgeable and polite and did not seem to push me for my money. This was a big move for my family and I to leave NJ and start a new life and job in Florida. He was very thorough with was was to be expected during the move. The pick up went great and the delivery was even expedited. The price was very reasonable and the best part of the move was that none of my wife’s fragile crystal was damaged along the way. I would highly recommend this moving service for your next move especially after all of the horror stories I read about.

Thank you,

Perfect move.

I have always moved myself but this time going from Michigan all the way to Arizona was no easy task. I decided to go ahead and contact a free different 5 star companies that load in my area and were able to pack my special family heirlooms. I spoke with Terry who made sure that all info that I set the original call was all correct. Once that was done the truck was dispatched and there were no problems at the pick up. They delivery fell right in the middle of the window asks my fiance were very pleased. We were able to afford the move and I highly recommend using first call for you next move.

Long-distance move from Natick, MA to Moultrie, GA

Terrrible UNRELIABLE Company.

Contracted move from Mass to Georgia.
Cost estimate was done 2 separate times. Pictures included Estimate was around $10,000. The move was scheduled for 9a-12p on Sat 9/23/18. By 12pm no movers showed up and no phone calls. We were unable to contact anyone at 1st Call.until around 2pm. A dispatcher informed me the truck has brokendown and likely unable to arrive. I informed the dispatcher that I was upset that no one called me of the, nor was there any way to contact 1st Call. The Dispatcher promised the truck would be there possibly sunday, definitely Monday and he would call me. He did not call. The truck did not arrive until Tuesday 9/25 after 2pm ( more than 48hr from contract guaranteed time). The first thing the movers said was how much they suggest I give them for a tip. The next conversation with the movers was informing me that the newly recalculated move would cost around $14000. It was like a hostage situation. My closing was less than 24hr away so I was stuck. (plus they already had my down payment upfront).
The movers were very efficient. They worked beyond midnight till around 2am, Wed 9/26. They informed me that they were done and were closing up the truck to leave when my wife noticed that they had left half of our storage room items behind. The Truck was not full. I had to have an argument with the shift boss/manager to get them to finish the job. They did. and then left. But they left a lot of cut up tape and padding boxes that we had to clean up in order to have the house ready for the scheduled closing.
Furniture delivery was also a disaster. The promise from the original salesperson was that delivery would not take more than a week. While I was now stuck in Georgia in a house with no furniture, after multiple phone calls to !st Call Relocation, they kept changing my delivery date. I did not get my furniture until 10/20/18. When it was delivered most of my Henredon dining room chairs (which were wrapped in blankets by the movers) were damage with mold and severe water staining. When removed from the truck the blankets were wet. This was pointed out to me by the movers (a different team) because they wanted to let me know that they did not do this. The truck must of had a hole in the roof and during the month long stay in the truck, it rained and led to ruining the set. The following day I unwrapped the 65" LED TV that they delivered and the screen was cracked.
After unwrapping and emptying all of the boxes I contacted 1st Call to file a claim. They told me I had 60 days to file. I sent pictures of the damaged items. They said they take up to 120 days to respond. I waited. I called back in June and after a very rude and condescending person that lectured me on what I would be reimbursed for (Now is when I was told about the $0.60/pound reimbursement for damages) and it calculated out to about $350. Note; never was the insurance coverage on the move told to me to be based on weight alone. It was always feferred to as a value based amount. Replacing the TV cost me $1800. I found the same dining room chairs used on Ebay and that cost me $1400. Anyhow I was told a check would come to me on June 15 ("checks get sent out on the 15th"). June 15th has passed and so has July 15th. I have never received any checks. I am now currently trying to call 1st Call Relocations. I have probably called their main office, sales and consumer help numbers more than 20 times. Someone once picked up the phone and immediately hung up. Otherwise no one has answered the phone at any of the advertised phone numbers. I get an answer machine; It instructs you to leave a message. I always do. To date no one has called me back. I always call from the same phone number and leave my name and account number in my messages. Worst business experience I have ever had. I have recently found similar complaints as mine on the BBB website. Someone should be able to hold them accountable and shut down this company. It would also be.

Long-distance move from Indiana to Florida

Great job First Call.

First Call Relocation is the real deal.. I have moved a few times in the past and honestly have had nothing but problems.. It took a lot of researching for me to wind up picking first call relocation over the others.. I received a I home estimate from United Van Lines and these guys beat the price for me by 1000$ using United's volume from the iPhone.. I used their full pack service which I was very pleased with having a lot of high end china and antique glass cabinets.. I will be using this company again if I move in the future.. Use these guys, ask for Anthony he is the one who helped me from start to finish..

Awesome Job.

First call relocations really good at their jobs and I couldn’t praise them more. But, I got to let others know that the people were professional and punctual. Our house wasn’t big and we didn’t have too many big items to pack or load.

However, there were plenty of small stuff that I couldn’t pack in time. The guys from First call relocations took their time to put them all in boxes before loading them. I just marked while my SO helped organize them in the truck. The people did their job very well and there is nothing I could complain about. Cool dea.

Long-distance move from Merrillville, IN to Desoto, TX

Horrible experience.

Contracted for service from IN to TX. We agreed on price and pickup date. Signed contract paid deposit. Unfortunately, deposit was mistakenly submitted twice.Called numerous times requesting refund of double payment, no response. Later received a phone call from Jimmy stating he could not offer some of the additional services offered in the contract, or I owe more money. After looking at my contract, most additional services weren’t in the contract. So we agreed to stick with the original contracted services at $2500. Jimmy also lied about not receiving the extra deposit money, when my bank confirmed the payment was received. So I get a pickup date and dispatch is supposed to call by 4PM to confirm a time.Dispatch never calls. Tyler calls the next day and leaves a phone message stating pickup is delayed; please return the call, asap. I return the call, no answer. Leave repeated messages, no reply from anyone. “No show” on pickup date. I make numerous calls to both business telephone numbers associated with First Call. Leave messages and emails with my concerns. When I get a reply, two days later, I’m told the truck didn’t come because I didn’t confirm time(what time)? Tyler proceeds to tell me I didn’t sign the new contract (what new contract? Jimmy and I had agreed on the original contract, no add-ons). Next, Tyler says First Call can’t honor the contract I made with Jimmy, because Jimmy was not authorized to give the discounts he quoted. Then he says, Jimmy will be reprimanded. I ask for a refund. He says, I can’t get a refund because the contract says no refund,(Really, so the bad contract only works in the best interest of the company.) Now, I have $1750 invested which should be a deposit and pickup fee, but First Call is calling it a deposit (since they upped the price). I don’t have another $1750 to start all over so I’m backed into a new contract. Scheduled a new pickup date. Dispatch doesn’t call, truck doesn’t show again. Finally,I speak with George; pickup scheduled again;Tyler confirms.Truck arrives 5 hrs late on day of pickup. Moving crew looks a furniture and decides it’s too big, requires more space, more money.Tyler insist I pay the driver $1734, then they’ll begin loading the truck. Now if I calculate correctly, 3900 divided by 3 is 1300. If I should pay anything at pickup, shouldn’t it be the $1300-$450, because I’ve already paid $1750. At this point every bit of my frustration with this company comes out and I lose it. Somewhere in my ranting, Tyler tells the driver to load the truck. After all is said and done, I look in the truck. My furniture wouldn’t fit in the trucks even if I’d paid the additional fees. Two trucks have shown up and both are almost filled to capacity. My furniture is still in Indiana, because the final agreement was to load only the boxes, not the big furniture. I doubt my boxes even took up the 751 cu ft I was allocated. First Call is still requiring me to pay over $1700 upon delivery of my boxes. Didn’t abide by the contract! Charged me more money! and never finished the job! First Call Relocations is full of it.I read good reviews on the First Call’s website, which is why I chose to use them. I’m happy to hear someone was treated with respect. I wonder why I got screwed??
So displeased, dissatisfied, discouraged.

Long-distance move from Radom, IL to Hamilton, GA

Detailed.

Great job getting the job done right. Most companies I spoke to just wanted to rush the process and take the money. First call wanted all the details. They wanted to know the type of home they were coming to and make sure they could get a truck close. I really appreciated all the pre work that went into scheduling my move. I also appreciate the level of respect and professionalism everybody involved had. It would have been easy to just moved forward with the first company I spoke to but I wanted this job done right my stuff means a lot to me. The price I was given never changed nor did my dates and times. Having a solid company in my pocket really gave me a sense of security. I didn’t second guess them at any point and I’m glad I chose them. Success all around.

Pure Gold.

I recently was given the option of relocating for work and I decided to take it. It was an opportunity that meant I would receive a pay raise and a chance to go to a new area so I did. My company was responsible for selecting the moving company as well as paying for it but Im here to document the actual experience.First Call Relocations is who we all agreed on to handle our move. Working with the moving professional on the phone was made easy. He was familiar with the process and knew the business very well. He made sure I did not miss any items and also included packing and special care for fragile items. He also was very particular in making sure they could get a moving truck close after seeing my home on Google Earth. The dispatch department called a few times to make sure the dates we discussed still worked for me and told me the time the movers would arrive and be there for delivery. The communication with this company was stellar. Communication is key for everything especially when so many people are involved in a relocation. The pricing I was given did not change at any point and never was I asked for extra money. I did not feel pressured at anytime during the process and Im happy it went as well as it did. I would recommend them to anybody looking for a down to earth company and of course the money was in line with every other quote I received. It was a good experience start to finish.

Huge Help.

Being a single mother with work and afternoon activities being constantly busy all the time, I had no idea how I was going to move my entire house along with all of my normal day to day duties. I felt the
Need to right a review, which I never
Have time to do. I was so pleased with this moving company. I’ve never had to
Do this in my entire life so I was a bit nervous. The management is most definitely
On point. They eased my mind along with the actual movers that came. Nothing was
Broken and they assembled everything
Which saved me a lot of time. They were also nice to my children and I was extremely pleased. They get 5 stars and future business from me.

First call was excellent. I never doubted them at any time during talking to them. I’ve moved numerous times before but it was never this smooth. I’ve had movers in the past take my money and never answer the phone again. These guys were on time and very knowledgeable and I was comfortable working with them. Worthy.

First Call relocations called once I submitted my information regarding my relocation. They were very professional and took all the time necessary to make sure the move would be a success. I went room by room telling them all the pieces I would be bringing and which pieces that would be boxing myself. They gave me tips and other resources as this was my first time moving with an actual company. They wrapped my furniture I put the mattress covers on and box my televisions. They loaded and unloaded the truck and covered all the expenses to get me to my destination. They are well run company With establish credentials. They also have all the necessary licenses and certifications to do interstate moves. I was extra careful in selecting the company I would be working with as I heard there are many fraudulent companies. I would recommend them to anyone.

Just as promised.

The way I found First call Relocations was through this actual website. I wanted to find a moving company that had a majority of 5 star reviews and that is what they had. I’ll was curious enough to give them a call direct. I didn’t want to be bothered by countless moving companies calling and fighting for my business when I already knew who I wanted to work with. First call lived up to everything I read. I saw they were very detailed in putting together estimates and weren’t money hungry. I also saw the communication was well in line and it was. The men that showed up to do the move were very experienced And move the furniture with care. They did not damage break or steal a single item. The price we agreed on was the price I paid and not a cent more. I appreciate the honesty and are willing to do Hardwork that this company has it would take just anybody looking for that type a company to give them a call.

First call relocations was fabulous I never thought I’d find a moving company I actually enjoy working with but they are that. I got a great price and a ton of discounts. In the beginning I was a little skeptical only because I talk to so many other movers did not know what to expect. They, nurse and I was able to thinking ultimately decided to reserve with them. I got my desire dates and I was out of my apartment on time which was the most important thing. They are a family run company and you can tell by working with them they have respect for the customer. I found that a lot of other companies never speaking to didn’t even have a valid license which scared me first call had everything they needed Thank you for all the hard work you’ve done I’d be happy to use you in the future.

Long-distance move from San Diego, CA to Denver, CO

Horrible Customer Service & Way Over Priced.

Went to a site to get quotes about a move we are about to make from So. Cal to Denver, CO. Received about 4 phone calls and 6 emails in a 2 or 3 day period from them. First, they couldn't even find me after all these calls/emails. Were not very friendly. Then proceeded to tell me that the rate other companies give me "won't stand up in court"?? I hadn't even mentioned what I had been quoted yet. Sounded like a used car salesman.. Then the man representing First Call quoted me $5000 for 350 cubic feet..
I was quoted a price of $1580 from a major moving company. As soon as I said that he hung up on me. What kind of service is that? I am all for small businesses but this company is the type of company that hurts small companies and makes people run to the big ones. There is no way all these reviews are from actual customers. I had to call twice to speak with someone and the first time someone answered their 888 number "hello" then put me on hold for 5 minutes so I had to call back to get that "awesome" quote that would stand up in court.. Truly sad!

Happy.

I decided to make my reservation with first call relocations. They were able to accommodate all my needs and requests for my move. I was looking for a mover with many years in business and a reputation of being honest and hard working. I found that with them and the quality of service spoke for itself. Friendly sales people knowledgable agents and clean cut movers. As far as the price went is was right in the middle of some of the other estimates I received. Some of the ofhef companies I spoke to were either too cheap or way out of my budget. I appreciated how honest everyone I spoke to was. I’m happy with the level of service they offered and the condition my goods left and arrived in. It was a pleasant experience doing business with them and would use them again.

Long-distance move from Richmond, VA to San Francisco, CA

Cross country.

My husband and I decided to move from Richmond Virginia to San Francisco California. It’s a very far relocation and there’s no way we could’ve handled it by ourselves. Though we did take a few minutes to look up truck rentals and factor in the price because we knew it would be expensive it just did not make sense financially to do it that way. We submitted our information online and the calls began to come. We spoke to many different companies but felt first call relocations was the best out of the bunch. They were very detailed and organized and constructed a very comprehensive Estimate. I sent them pictures and even FaceTime my representative to make sure that they knew exactly what they were picking up. I move date the price I was quoted was actually higher than the final amount due which was the cherry on top. We are very happy with the service we received and we would definitely use them again.

Pleased.

I am very pleased with the company. The only issue that I have is that we had to change my move date due to a scheduling problem on their end. Luckily I was somewhat flexible and we were able to accommodate that. Outside of the minor scheduling issue it was an excellent job. We spoke numerous times on the phone and put together and exact width of the furniture I would be bringing . I like the Structure the company has as a whole and they have a very unique way of doing business. I was overwhelmed in the beginning after speaking to so many different movers but there is something about first car I really liked. I was constantly updated through every step of the move and the girls and the customer service department we’re always available to answer my questions if my representative was unavailable. It was a pleasure. The moving men that came to my house were actual movers that work for the company and not some kids they picked out to do the manual labor. I watch them all as they move throughout my home and as they loaded the truck I marked off items on my list to make sure they matched. It was a speedy delivery and I’m happy to say that is complete. I’m not the type to come online and write reviews but I file over to them they worked really hard.

If I Could Rate 0.

This place is absolutely awful. these people conned me out of over a thousand dollars. Scott quoted us 2600 flat on our move. when the movers arrived, it was an additional 1500 and they didn't take my children's beds or half of our belongings. When I called after the driver, Alex, said Scott would give me a discount, I was told I was an idiot who didn't thoroughly read my contract, and received not only no discount but horrible customer service. I WILL be contacting the better business bureau for this mess. DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SCAMMED OUT OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS!

Delivered.

Can’t say enough about the job they did at first call. They were able to squeeze me in for the dates I really needed at no additional price it was no problem for them. I did not know what to expect going into this I’ve never used a moving company before. They took time to explain to me the best way to go about my move. We comprised of list between the two of us and I was able to review it to make sure that those are the pieces that would be moving. I pack the boxes they deliver the furniture and nothing came in a different condition then it left. My things aren’t expensive but they do mean a lot to me and I’m happy the move went well. They are a very easy company to work with because they know exactly what they’re doing. Experienced courteous and affordable.

Did job right.

I found first call relocations basically by accident when searching for another mover. I was very close with working with this other mover but in the end I’m glad my decision went elsewhere. I also thought I had a great price locked in but it turns out after really dissecting the “we found that not only was it a better price break to work with the first call but the other company had some very poor reviews and a horrible ratings. I know you can’t believe everything you read online but when a lot of people are saying the same thing it might be worth looking into. I really liked all the feedback I saw with them and I like the fact that not only did I talk to my representative every day but I also talk to the owner which made me feel welcomed. Let’s be honest moving is very expensive and it’s one of the hardest things people ever have to do so it was important to me to find a good company that I thought was honest and would do the job right.

Since I had a couple other quotes we were able to use them as a reference. By the time we were finished putting together our estimate it turns out some of the other companies were trying to pull a fast one. They offer me a lot less space so obviously that meant the cheaper price. But the reality of the situation is my furniture set up more space Then they allocated which would mean that when the moving company showed up my final price of change significantly. First call was honest enough to show me my real number is which I respected a lot. They also gave me the tools I needed to find regulated websites that show remover’s history, reviews from customers and even mileage the trucks drive. I selected them for various reasons and those are just some of them. There is always somebody available to take my calls or answer my questions and it was just a feel good company to work with. I’m happy to leave my experience here in the hopes of helping another person in a time of need.
