Best Interstate Moving and Storage

To be honest, I would say I have a mix feeling about this relocate experience. I am very satisfied that all my stuff was in good condition and nothing's lost. But I did feel frustrated sometimes when communicated with Best Interstate. I think part of the reason is that they are using a contracted mover and this may cause a longer communicating time.

However, I am very pleased with Kelsey's help. She is responsible and efficient, and almost the most helpful customer service I have encountered.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $4000

My family and I used BIMS to move from Illinois to Texas. They GROSSLY misquoted the weight of our move. I would understand having to pay for what the items weigh, but they were so assured that their video software would be close to accurate, and it wasn't. I anticipated having to pay a difference - maybe $500 more or maybe even less, but when the movers came they informed us that it would be over $3000 more than was quoted. But what could we do? We couldn't NOT move - the house was sold and our stuff was packed and ready to go. When I reached out to BIMS to try and settle the dispute over this ridiculous inaccuracy they informed me that they were unable to offer any assistance because of the weight inaccuracy.

They did offer me compensation for another problem we had, but I couldn't in good conscience accept the money they offered me in exchange for my agreeing to not defame them in anyway. I just couldn't stand by after the terrible service I received. Because of their massively inaccurate estimate I had to postpone my move by 5 days. I had to provide 5 extra days of meals eaten out because we were supposed to moved out already (and I had already cleaned out the fridge/pantry so there was nothing in our home to eat). We also ended up having lodging expenses. The movers they contracted the first time that left because the estimate was so off ended up being dishonest and NO ONE from BIMS ever contacted us to see if things had happened like they were supposed to. I was assured by the movers that they would be back in 2 days, but when they didn't show and I contacted them they insisted they knew nothing about it. Foolishly I assumed BIMS had any further contact with them, and they were absolutely a mess to deal with trying to reschedule everything. It was only after HOURS on the phone with them that we were able to get our scheduled move back on track. We were supposed to moved on a Saturday, and they were unable to get us a a different truck until Wednesday.

Once the move was complete (items delivered) I spent days trying to get a hold of BIMS representatives to try and reach an agreement about compensation. I was continually passed from employee to employee, told again and again that someone would call me back, but they never day. They gave me some line about not being able to reach me, but my phone was ringing through for everyone else just fine. I later read that other disgruntled customers experienced that same lie about not being reachable. At the pinnacle of our dispute I was rudely spoken to, repeatedly blamed for their short comings, and eventually hung up on. I let them know I had every intention of letting as many people as I could know not to use their services. So please, save your money, your time, and your sanity - use ANYBODY ELSE. I cannot overstate how much financial and emotional stress using BIMS cost us.

I had called for price quote, and Michael and Jason (in the FL office) were exceptional. Even after a few conversations over a few days, discussing pricing and such, both delivered exceptional customer service, which is rare these days.

When I explained how little I had to move, they quoted me a fair price, but then I decided not to follow through, because I couldn't justify the cost versus the few big items. I expected them to lowball me just to get me to choose their services.

But no. Jason came back with, "That's what I would have done, too, in your situation." So, hat's off to them for their kindness and honesty.

If you are moving your family across the US or even locally, I highly recommend Best Interstate Movers! You'll get excellent customer service, friendly folks, and a top-notch experience.

Extremely pleased with my move from Ohio to Iowa. I had never made an interstate move and had heard some pretty gruesome stories about interstate moves. HOWEVER, my move with Best Interstate Moving and Storage was the BEST move I've ever experienced. Everyone at Best Interstate was willing to spend time with me on the phone and explain all the details. During the move they kept in touch with me by phone. The packers/movers, Luiz Martinez, and his partner, John, were very courteous, friendly, and helpful. AND there was NOTHING broken, damaged, or lost. Among the items moved were a grandmother clock, an antique wall clock, and an antique roll top desk. Also of note is the fact that part of my load went to Cedar Rapids, IA and part went to Des Moines IA and everything was delivered to the correct addresses.I would give them 10 stars if that were an option.

Recently used Best Interstate Moving and Storage to move from Southern Florida to Rhode Island, almost 1500 miles. The team was very kind and responsive to my questions and kept me updated on the pickup and drop-off dates and times. The movers themselves were very helpful and packed my items well! Nothing damaged or missing. My only complaint was that I told the person who booked the move for me that there was no loading dock at my building; however, when the movers arrived they were unaware of this and charged me about 125$ extra. Not a big deal, but it would have been nice to know about the charge beforehand. Overall a great experience.

After researching several moving companies, and seeing that Best consistently received glowing reviews, I called and immediately felt like I was in excellent hands. From Mae to the amazing Tequela - who was by my side through the entire process - to the team who packed and moved my possessions, each one was helpful, knowledgeable and most importantly, flexible. That was key as my moving time frame changed and they were able to adapt seamlessly. I highly recommend Best Interstate Moving & Storage.

I used Best to move from Virginia to Utah in February 2019. They contracted my move out to JK Moving Services, who did a great job. The people at Best responded quickly and found me a great mover for the exact date I needed (I was moving for a job and didn't have any wiggle room!). I really appreciate that. On the downside, the initial rough estimate Best gave me was much less than the official estimate, which was much less than the final quote from JK. I think Best lowballed me to get my business. The final price was reasonable for a cross country move, but it was very stressful to have the price keep going up. Overall, though, the experience was satisfactory.

After extensive research, I am so glad to have found Best Interstate. From the start, it was a lovely experience. The contact people, Stephanie and her team were very responsive and understanding. The movers who packed me up in LA were prompt, and quick. I was a bit shaken when I was made to understand that because mine was a such a small shipment (less than 2000 lbs) it might take a while, but, I received my stuff within 10 days. The guys dropping off my stuff were quick and friendly. And, nothing was broken.

We moved from Houston to Seattle in March 2019. I was very anxious when selecting a mover that would treat our possessions with care and I can say with confidence that I ended up choosing the right company.

Scheduling the pickup was very simple, and our driver, Troy, communicated very well with us throughout the process. He even would periodically check-in with me to provide updates on the delivery day!

I am very satisfied that all our things were delivered in good condition and nothing was lost, especially considering that we required a shuttle due to limited access for trailers at each end of the trip. I would definitely choose Best Interstate again in the future.

I have never used a professional moving company before, having always done the work myself. Best Interstate took the stress out of the interstate move from an island to the desert. Once I understood there was a core group of people who would be able to check my record and carry on no matter who I reached when I called in with a question, I was always confident nothing would fall through the cracks. The company they contracted me with was excellent. I would recommend Best Interstate to anyone.

I have used this moving company twice in the past year, using them in both May 2018 and May 2019. May Rodriguiez and Jasmine were the two customer service representatives I dealt with. Both women were informative and called multiple times to make sure that Helix had contacted me. After both deliveries either Jasmine or May contacted me to make sure that everything was satisfactory. I told them both times that I was very impressed because the movers gave me an hour window and were there both times in a timely manner. All of the people I have dealt with were willing to do anything I asked, and put the boxes wherever I wished. I would definitely recommend Helix Movers to anyone in the process of moving.

Customer service is great on the front end. Moving day is when the real nightmare begins! We were quoted around $5,000 for a 3 bedroom cross country move. And on moving day after our items were packed in their truck we were told it was now $10,000!! This was after we sold everything in two of our bedrooms, our dining room furniture and all basement furniture (which was all included in the original quote of $5,000). So how did was land on $10,000 with 60% less furniture!?!?!?
RUN IN THE OTHER DIRECTION! THIS IS JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG. Hired movers off of Craiglist, legs were ripped off of a table. Literally all four legs… ripped off. Many items were broken. Many items are still missing. Cannot get customer service to return phone calls or emails.
I understand that the moving industry is though. I fully expected items to be broken or damaged but never this. Never to be lied to, or threatened to keep our stuff if we didn’t pay more, or cheated. This is an ethical issue. They are running a scam and getting away with it.

I feel like I have been scammed by this company and recommend anyone considering them to stay far far away. I booked Best Interstate for my move from NJ to WA in August/September. At first they were very responsive and friendly, but once the deposit was paid it was incredibly difficult to get information from them. I came home to a nasty message left for me by customer service about going through my final inventory, threatening that if I didn't get back to her right away it would delay my move. It would have been nice if an appointment was set up with information letting me know what I needed to do to be prepared in advance rather than having to speak to a representative with an attitude during an already stressful time. All of the details I discussed with Best Interstate never made it to the actual movers which led to several misunderstandings during the move - including not paying for materials to pack furniture, number of steps allowed with no extra charge and most importantly the fact that my belongings would need to be stored briefly before being delivered in Washington. Because of this, the movers had to adjust their schedule and my delivery date was delayed, leaving me with Washington without my stuff for a week and a half. After the movers picked up my stuff, Best Interstate tried to tell me that the weigh in came in higher than the estimate and I was going to owe more money in my balance. I requested my belongings get re-weighed because I didn't believe there was 900 pounds more than anticipated. The movers they booked were not responsive to that and eventually when I spoke to them they said there was no weigh in and I only owed what was in the estimate. Seemed to me that something very shady went on there. When my belongings were finally delivered, I noticed several pieces of furniture damaged and one item missing. The movers were not responsive to supplying insurance information. Best Interstate did try to track down some information, but it wasn't correct. I eventually got info from the movers but turned out they didn't have an insurance policy with the company they gave me. I cannot get in touch with them as their phone is not in service and they don't respond to email. I am now trying to get back in touch with Best Interstate. No one answers the phone and every person who's email address I have says they are out of the office on an extended absence. I trusted Best Interstate to book my move with a reputable company and since that obviously did not happen, I feel they are responsible for the damage to my belongings. This is the worst company I have ever done business with. They made a stressful situation infinitely more stressful than it should have been and don't even respond to help rectify the problem. DO NOT HIRE THEM!

Thought I was hiring a 5-star moving company to transport my goods between CT and NC. To my chagrin, Best turned out to be a broker (shame on me for not doing my research on them) that subcontracted the move to a very disreputable company in NJ. As a broker, one would think that Best would choose only "The Best". Unfortunately, that is not the case! Suffice to say..the move was a disaster on many levels, and Best basically wiped their hands of the entire affair once they received the down-payment. Customer service was virtually non-existent (when I actually able to reach someone), and the representative who originally handled our contract basically disappeared (I assume this individual either quit, or was let go). When I was finally able to speak with someone in authority (Stephanie), I found that person to be less than accommodating, and downright rude. Whoever happens to read this review..do yourself a favor and avoid this company at all costs. You'd better off going with a name-brand, and reputable nationwide moving firm.

If I could give this company 0 stars I would. This company is a broker not an actual moving company. I planned the move 2.5 months in advance. The day (Saturday) they were supposed to show up they did not. I could not reach anyone until Monday. At that time they informed me that the moving company that they had contracted with had filled their truck and I would have to wait for the next one, a month out. I planned the move around closing on my house the following week. This caused a nightmare for me to move myself because all of the other moving companies were booked through the summer and Uhaul had no truck available in my area.

My advise is to choose a different mover and read the reviews. If you do choose this company be prepared to move yourself or try to find a different mover at the last minute.

The only good thing was that they did credit all of the money back to me.

This company was a nightmare! Their hard sell to get a deposit was terrible and they didn't show up on the day I paid $250 extra to guarantee. They offered no help and just said they canceled my move and was on my own. I'm reporting them to BBB. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. The buyer of my property worked with me but could have thrown our family out on the street. I did get my full deposit back but the emergency cost was of fining someone else doubled my moving costs. Just say no to Best Interstate Moving and Storage
