Awesome!

I’m so glad that I got a chance to use authority Moving Group! I was kind of racing against the clock as I needed to be out before the month was over. Authority was extremely professional, on time, and ready to work! I don’t really have too many complaints there was a small scratch on the table but it wasn’t anything major! Taking in to consideration how much was actually moved that was the least of my worries! I definitely have to say to that they were very affordable I was surprised what my invoice came out to for everything they actually moved for us! 5 out of 5, I would definitely recommend using them!

Pleased

Authority moving group came ready to work!! They showed up on time and were extremely professional and, smart with their moving process. The office was very friendly too! We thought that this was going to take a lot longer than expected but I really feel like they were in and out before we actually realize and I already heading to the new house! They were extremely cautious with all of our belongings make sure not to chip or scratch anything. I was definitely pleased with the results and also with my invoice I would definitely recommend Authority!

A+ senior move

I had to move my senior parents quickly at the start of the pandemic. Authority Moving Group was unbelievable. They were so skilled and really treated my parents with so much respect. We wouldn’t have been able to get the job done without their help. I highly recommend their services. They not only packed and handled everything with so much care but they also helped my parents unpack and assemble their furniture when they arrived at their destination. I cannot thank them enough. I’m sure they would be amazing at any kind of move but if you are moving someone elderly this company is so kind and helpful. Such a fantastic job! Thank you!

Read the fine print

The salesman was nice and helpful. He quoted me a decent price and said we could get our things within 3-5 days. First thing that went wrong is they have a 24 hour window where they can change the day and time of when they show up. I told them specifically what day and time I wanted. They came 4 hours later and no apology. Driver said our things would arrive 3–5 days. About three days in I call and ask for a status update. Then he said 7-10 days. I asked him why and he said they were waiting to fill up the truck because they don’t transport half loads. I told him that it was not excusable and he said and I quote ‘I get calls from people like you all the time. You should have hired a larger company with a quick turnaround’. In the end it took 17 days to get our things. They broke some of our fragile items. Driver said ‘well it was on a pallet’. When they reassembled our bed they screwed up our drawers underneath. My husband requested they fix it but they couldn’t the damage was already done. In the end we paid almost triple from the original quote. Very disappointed and extremely unhappy with this service.

DO NOT USE EVER

DO NOT USE. Company hires a 3rd party to move you. 3rd party Falcon Moving scammed me out of fees more than double. Lost all the hardware to my furniture, Lied about truck size to try to falsely charge me. Lied in writing and verbally about when my moving truck left to deliver belongings. Authority did nothing to help resolve the issues. They charge a commission on top of moving fees.

SCAM! BEWARE!!

After sending a crew with a very charming foreman who said his family owned the company, my stuff has been sitting for over a month somewhere in LA with zero...and I mean...zero updates about when if ever it will be shipped to the East Coast. They made me pay in cash which should have been a flag, so I am out money and have no furniture. Small claims court is next!

Moving help

Let me tell you, if you are in the market for some quality movers and a quality moving company you really need to check out Authority! There is no way I would have been able to do this by myself. I literally found authority last minute and they were able to exceed my expectations in all honesty because I had a tremendous amount of things with very little notice but they were able to knock it out with ease! I would highly recommend Checking them out!

Disaster!!!!

I moved from Las Vegas to Charlotte in Jan of 2021 and hired Authority Moving Group (AMG) to help me find a moving company. I had recently had shoulder surgery, hence was in a sling and couldn’t pack anything.

AMG recommended I pay for the upgraded package which would include the packing and unpacking everything for me. I agreed and was promised top-notch service where I hardly had to lift a finger due to my disability.

Unfortunately, I had one of the worst experiences of my life with this move. The packing was pretty smooth however the unpacking, not so much. In our contract I had signed that I won’t be able to receive the load until 2/2, however, the movers got there a day before.

On 2/1/21 the owner of ABC moving company, Daniel, called me that day while I was at the airport, 15 minutes before boarding on the plane, and said that his guys were 20 minutes from my house in Charlotte. I explained that I won’t be there until 4 pm and they can come tomorrow, but he insisted that I need to get someone there or they would just leave everything in street. He argued that he didn’t want to pay for his movers to spend a night in a hotel. We kept arguing and I had 10 min to come up with a response since I was getting on a plane to head to Charlotte.

I called my real estate agent and asked him to let the movers in, hoping I would be there by 4pm to check on things and pay the remaining balance. Daniel said that the balance of $1309 had to be paid in cash before they unloaded the truck, so I asked my agent pay them.

When I got to my house in Charlotte at 4:30 pm, one out of the two movers was sitting on the sidewalk with a swollen ankle, possibly broken and the other mover was doing everything.

Supposedly he hurt himself moving the fridge and now the Fridge was sitting on the sidewalk. I couldn’t do anything due to my shoulder, I asked if he wanted an ambulance or doctor. The driver, Ricardo, said no because he couldn’t afford it and his boss had told him not to call anyone because he didn’t want to pay for it.

I asked what will they do about the move since everything was either on the sidewalk or garage and still had to be moved up the stairs to the kitchen and unloaded, unpacked and assembled as promised. The driver hardly spoke any English and had no answers for me.

So I called Daniel myself and asked what the plan was. He had a very uncaring attitude and said that he will get someone as soon as he could but can’t guarantee anything or when.

I said that I would like the last payment back as insurance, but he refused. I told him that I couldn’t trust them and needed some kind of insurance, he said no and hung up on me.

I called back many times but he didn’t pick up nor called back. I asked the driver for my money back but he said he would get fired and they would take the money out of his checks.

Best Moving company you can find

Authority Moving Group is hands down the best moving company you can find. I was really worried about hiring movers because I’ve always moved myself however, because I was moving to another state doing it myself really wasn’t an option. I considered a number of companies but Authority both offered me the best price and they had the best customer service. Their sales team was so efficient and really helped me get a comprehensive quote. My move was so easy. They started off by showing up right on time and the movers introduced themselves to me. They were friendly and seemed to know what they were doing. They wore masks the whole time and took COVID risk very seriously. My things were delivered to me on time and in tact. The best part of the whole move is that they stuck to the quote they gave me. I didn’t pay a penny more. I highly recommend moving with Authority Moving Group.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS THEY LIE

We are no longer moving to and wanted to cancel our move. We requested a refund for the moving deposit.

We have called and emailed Steven to advise we are no longer moving. Steven said no problem and he would issue a refund within 3-5 business days. This was over 5 days ago and now he is not answering the phone, returning our calls or responding to emails. Every time we try to call Steven’s phone says the person you are trying to reach is on the phone, as if he is routing our calls directly to voicemail since he knows we want to cancel.

They cannot be trusted!

RUN, do not walk away from Authority Moving!

Moving is stressful enough. Authority will make it even MORE STRESSFUL and EXPENSIVE for you.

Authority Moving Group failed to show up to move my daughter's stuff from May 22 to May 24. They called late on May 23 to reschedule to May 28 to 30. I heard my daughter say that she would need to check to see if a friend was available on those days, since she had planned to fly out of the area on May 24. Authority told her that they would put down May 28 to 30. When she called back on May 25 to tell them that her friend was available on Jun 1 to Jun 3, Authority charged her $275 for moving the date. My daughter and I have called Authority 6 times from May 26 to May 31 to discuss this charge, which we felt was not appropriate. I talked to a live person 1 time, who said that someone would call us back 1st thing the following day. No call back was received. My daughter spoke to someone at Authority on May 31, who said that someone would call her back. She received a text later that day that said she would receive an email the following day about this issue and that she would be contacted. No email was sent to my daughter. The other 4 times, my daughter and I left voice messages. At no time did we receive a call back. I do not think that I should have to pay the change fee, since they were the ones that did not show up on the agreed upon dates to begin with. Authority should have allowed my daughter the opportunity to choose dates that worked for her and her friend.

We ended up calling a local mover (MoveHer), who had WAY BETTER customer service. They charged us ONE-THIRD of what Authority Moving Group was going to charge ($1075 vs $3273.) The new company gave us a specific date and time that they were going to be there. Our calls were returned promptly.

Make your moving experience a positive one. AVOID Authority Moving Group!!!

Scam Alert

I was given a quote of $2890.00 back on 04/22/2021 based on the items that I provided  them on the list that they require.

Then on the date of the moving which was on 06/12/2021 a different moving company with two people showed up called Falcon Movers and once  the driver  saw  my paperwork he said "That's too little money you paying" and then he proceeded making a new estimate.

He said "In order for me to move your items I will need to call 2 more people and its gone take us 24-36 hours to do the whole work, so your new estimate is $16,000 or $25,000."

I immediately told him that I was unaware of such a great increase in pricing given the fact that the place I was moving into is only  four  miles away.

So then I called Authority Moving Group, I explained to them what happened and I asked them to refund my deposit.

Their response was that they would not be able to give me my money back because I refused the movers service.

Since then I been trying to reach one of their supervisors in order to get my deposit  but they make sure to avoid me.

I don't know what needs to be done on a cases as such and what type of remedy exists on these type of cases but if nothing is done then those type of companies are getting more than enabled to operate in a complete immunity.

Moving company problems

Absolute worse company ever. They told me they were not a broker, which the first lie. Told me I’d have my stuff in 3-10 days, was the second lie. It’s been 2.5 months and I still don’t have my stuff. They will not answer calls, call back or help. I had to pay $1500 more than their quote. Stay away from these scam artists. They are horrible. Unprofessional

They picked my belongings up on May 6th and was told and insured that I would receive my things on May 15th. I moved from Pittsburgh, PA to Las Vegas. On May 15th they told me that’s when my delivery window would start and I would receive my things between that following Monday between Wednesday. That following Tuesday came and I received a call stating that I would receive my things that Wednesday or Thursday at the latest. It took 3 1/2 weeks to receive my things and most were missing. I was charged a total of 3100. Never was informed that multiple drivers would be handling my things, constantly requested to speak with a supervisor and never received a call back or nothing! Customer service is very unprofessional and no help whatsoever. They couldn’t give me any information on where my things were. Constantly being told different dates and times. I’ve had to come out of pocket for clothes due to weather change and our clothes being on the moving truck. Very inconvenient!! All of my furniture for my children’s room is on the truck, the first week we had to sleep on the floor until we got a blowup mattress. My children are two and four. I’m very upset and I highly recommend anyone moving out of state to just rent a moving truck and move your things that way.

Slimy Scam Job

First this is not a moving company, they are a broker who contracts with local movers in your area. I selected them because they had a #1 rating on an obviously scam moving company review site that they probably own. They get $1/3 for booking the move, the pickup movers get $1/3 and the delivery movers get $1/3. My contact Steven Ross is your typical slick willy used car salesman. He will call you 'my friend' 34 times and promise you that all the negative reviews you see are simply other moving companies posting fake reviews trying to damage their reputation. Nope. This company is a legitimate SCAM! Whatever they tell you won't be what you get because they merely contract out your move to another scam moving company in your area. The invoice amount they give you will not be what you end up paying. They lowball the amount to get your business and then you will be charged more on the day of your move or they won't move your stuff. I was quoted $6,200 and ended up paying $9,200 for partial move of my household from CA to AZ.

Steven promised for the move, a Supervisor, 2 movers and 3 helpers. Only 3 guys total showed up. With the 6 guys promised, what should have been a 3 hour max loading job since everything was boxed and ready to go, took them all day. Supervisor spent a half hour making a date on his phone and the other 2 guys didn't do hardly anything unless Supervisor was watching them. When they all disappeared for over a half hour, I found them laying all over my furniture with their stinky sweaty selves. They were on a break...My quote included 2 gun safes which are heavy and usually require special equipment to move, and was listed as an extra $550 on my original invoice. Supervisor told me that quote was only for the cubic feet the safes took and there would be an extra $1200 'bulky item' charge if I wanted them moved. They know you will probably be on a time crunch to get moved, so they hold you hostage for more money or they won't move your stuff.

The delivery mover was not even the contracted mover. The guy told me he was just helping out a friend by delivering my stuff and he was at my house unannounced at 6am the day after my stuff was supposed to be delivered. And you have to pay in cash up front or they won't unload the truck. 2 other guys showed up a couple hours later, one was so fat he could hardly walk much less be an effective mover. Steven promised his movers were experts in taking down and reassembling Sleep Number beds. How would he know, the guys who delivered my stuff weren't even the movers he contracted! My Sleep Number bed was dumped in a pile on the bedroom floor and they refused/didn't know how to reassemble it. That cost another $200 for Sleep Number techs to come and reassemble it. They also damaged my desk and didn't put it together correctly. My wife and I had to spend 2 hours taking it apart and putting it back together correctly.

I contacted Steven after the move and he promised me he would get to the bottom of all this and make good on it. Final last words of a scam artist. I contacted the actual company who moved my stuff, and they will look into it and get back to me... It has been over 3 weeks and no one gets back to me. Steven refuses to answer his direct number or respond to emails or calls. When I contacted his company, you get an answering service and they just say they are still waiting on paperwork from the pickup movers. Yeah, that will happen. I am going after these thieves. Have filed a complaint with BBB, filed a fraudulent charge with my credit card company, and will make this review known on every social and internet site I can. Good luck, all movers are crooked, these guys are just masters at it.

Prices changed significantly & we had lots of lost and damaged items.

I would never use this company. They are so bad I'm committed to making sure others don't have the experience we had. These clowns moved us from Michigan to Florida in late 2019. They are not a mover. They get around being held accountable by just facilitating your move. They pick the cheapest company to move you and then wash their hands of you on the day of your move. We had significant amounts of damage. Things that can't be replaced. They also lost several items including parts of our bedroom outfit including the footboard to our bed.

They never did anything to rectify this and never compensated us. These are the last people you should use

Horrible Customer Service - DON'T USE

My original movers cancelled, so I requested a quote and got a call from one of their reps. I was in the middle of a conversation when I get a call from a number that looks like the one my original movers use, so I politely asked the sales rep to call me back, for I needed to take this call. I answer and it turns out to be another sales guy from the same company. I hear guy 1 yelling at guy 2 for talking to his customer. They start bickering while I am still on the line, and guy 2 basically says "I don't care about the lead, you can have it." Well... that's a promising sentiment to have about a customer. So I get transferred back to guy 1, who then gives me attitude for hanging up his call, only to talk to his colleague. I explained why I did that, and when I mentioned how I didn't appreciate his comment about not caring about leads, he hung up on me.

If this is how you are as a sales rep, I cannot even imagine how they are when it comes to actual dispatching and pickup/delivery issues.

I am not sure who they got the ratings on the site I was using, but I suspect there was some foul play there.

Moving is already stressful - do yourself a favor and AVOID THESE GUYS AT ALL COST!

The company is a racket

Thank you to all the reviewers on here that have saved my family an almost certain horrible experience. We read the reviews and cancelled service 2 hours after hanging up with them.

The sales tactic was to take inventory over the phone and produce an instant estimate for the move. Then the will say if you sign now we will give you $2,000 dollars off the price.

After that they ask you to do a deposit so that they can get movers scheduled and reserved for the date. We were told that as long as we notified within three days of the move we can get our full deposit back. I even asked him to clarify that and confirmed it.

Then the sales rep sent us the estimate which had 5 pages of legal mumbo jumbo that the rep tries to get you to not read and says to click at the link at the bottom of the page to get to the electronic signature page.

In the terms here are the biggest red flags:

1. They will only reimburse up to $0.60 for each pound of items lost or damaged. (this is contrary to what the sales reps said about all your stuff being insured)

2. All lawsuits must be filed in Palm Beach County

3. The deposit in non-refundable unless given written notice within 72 hours from the day you reserve your move. (the sales rep wasn't just misleading, he flat out lied about this)

and 7% of your deposit amount is non refundable no matter what.

4. There's a few paragraphs about how they will inevitably collect more than the quoted estimate. Absolutely anything that isn't listed on the estimate will be an additional charge that you will need to pay otherwise they will hold your belongings hostage until you pay the additional charges.

4. There another two pages that describe the way that this company is not responsible for reimbursing you if anything goes wrong and that you are waiving a bunch of rights to hold them accountable if anything goes wrong.

We cancelled the check and notified them in writing the we are cancelling their service. Hopefully this is the end of it.

Do not hire this company!

They say we’re here for you all the way but they are not! The first call they do everything to get your money but after that , forget it. No return phone calls. They told me a 5 star company was going to take care of me. That was Atlantis Van Lines and after 5 weeks I still don’t have my belongings! This company is a broker to find you a mover. After that they disappear. NO ONE WILL RETURN MY PHONE CALL. They told me it would cost about $6,000 for the move. Atlantis is charging me $10,600 then you don’t know what’s going on. Atlantis sent me an email on June 19 that a truck was enroute. Never showed up. Then they told me it will be here July 7, it never showed up. They make a great sales pitch but don’t fall for it. Take my advice and do it yourself. This is BS!!

Movers left without my stuff because I wouldn't give them more money!!

This company is terrible. On my moving day, I spent 3 hours going back and forth with the customer service rep (had to keep leaving messages because there was only one person) because my movers kept telling me that they needed more money for the move upfront. They then wanted me to write the money order in their name when I was told to write it to the companies name. Speaking of that...the company I was given wasn't known by the movers. I tried to contact the actual moving company, but had to leave a message again. I eventually got a hold of them and they said they had never heard of me and told me that I might be getting scammed! Not something you want to hear. I finally demanded to speak with the movers boss who informed me that he works for 2 different moving companies and the other company the movers knew was the other company. I told that I called the contact number I was given and was told that I might be getting scammed, and the guy tells me that there are 2 moving companies with the same name...therefore AUTHORITY MOVING GROUP gave me the WRONG information!!!!! I called the customer service rep no less than 6 times in 3 hours, because every time I thought things were resolved, something else came up. At one point the "foreman" (if you can all him that) told me to hang up with them because they didn't know what they were talking about. Finally after 3 hours, I thought that we had things settled and the "foreman" asked for extra money again!! When I told him no, he left and told me that someone else would have to come!! After calling the customer service rep AGAIN...she put me on hold...after 45 minutes a truck pulls up and it's the same guys who left in the first place...at this point I definitely no longer trust these men and called her back. I told her that they broke the contract when they left and I was told by them that different people were coming, so that is what I expected. They of course couldn't get me anyone and I told her that I wanted my deposit back because they didn't hold up their end of the bargain. She told me that the manager and/or the assistant manager would be calling me. I'm glad I didn't hold my breath because it's been 4 weeks and haven't heard a word. Do yourself a favor and rent a POD and hire local people to load and unload for you...much cheaper, less hassle, and they care about their customers because they take responsibility if something goes wrong!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! ITS A SCAM!!

If there was a way to leave negative stars I would. This company is terrible and they falsely advertise their services. AMG is NOT a moving company despite the photo on their page of a man wearing AMG branded clothes. They are broker, but they won’t tell you that. Once they collect the initial payment, they shop your job around to movers who will do the job for very cheap rates. Theses other companies are not required to abide by any of the details in the contract you sign with them. Additionally, they do not stick with you through the move. Once you pay, they disappear and all your calls are routed to an answering service. And they never call you back. only time I got response back from them was AFTER I contacted the Better Business Bureau. At which point they responded one time and then disappeared again.

Not only is the customer service practically non-existent, but the amount they quote you will be at least $1,000 off. When the third party company comes to move your things onto the truck, they will get all on the truck AND THEN they’ll tell you that you AT LEAST $1,000 more and half of it needs to paid right then. And there’s nothing you can do. Then the third party company that picks up your stuff will shop the cross country move to yet another third party company, and they will also tell you that you more than what you agreed to pay with the first third party company. You can pay it or they won’t deliver your things. And keep in mind, the company you originally booked with, Authority Moving Group, they will not help you.

THIS IS A SCAM!!! TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! THEY ARE LIARS!!! Please do not book with them. I’ve had a terrible experience. And it’s happened to so many other people! The reviews on their page are lies! If you google “Authority Moving Group Reviews” you’ll see the truth. Take your money to a reputable company. It may cost you more, but it’s worth your sanity and the safety of your things.

This company is HORRIBLE. Worst group of people gathered in one business. They gave me a bogus quote, then hired 2 guys from Craigs List and then will not return my customer service calls. They also told me I could only pay by ACH check. Also major scam, when you pay that way, you can not dispute with your bank. THEY ARE SCANDELOUS LIARS
