Long-distance move from Oxford, Oxfordshire to Oxford, Oxfordshire

Avoid at all costs: destroyed our home.

My partner arranged a move (which included a piano) through anyvan. The removers were rude, had poor communications skills and quite aggressive, and refused to move the piano up to the first floor of our new property even though we paid for this service and anyvan website states clearly that it specialises in piano removals.

I arranged for a second move (but at that time did not realise that my partner had booked the first removal company through anyvan). This time I spoke to a representative and we hired a piano removal specialist to take the piano up from the ground floor of our new house to the first floor (with a view that we would re-coup part of the cost from the first move). At this point, we'd been effectively charged twice to move the same piano.

The new movers said that I needed to sign a waiver form to cover potential 'minor scrapes' to the walls. Having owned a piano for 20 years, I understand that this is sometimes unavoidable.

However, after they moved the piano, we noticed enormous holes in the walls, and ceiling (the second of which was not even included in the form I signed).

Two weeks after submitting my complaint, I received a generic response stating that Anyvan is not liable for the damage as they are effectively a middle man. My partner's claim (for return of funds as they did not complete the first job) was met with an acknowledgement that the website information was misleading and that they'd agreed to pay back £30. The total cost of the piano removal was around £430—twice as much as it should. This does not include the several hundred pounds of damage to the property which anyvan stated they will not take any responsibility for.

After several back-and-forth emails with their claims manager, I was told that they would not provide me with the identity of the transporter company nor would they provide me with a durable copy of the contract required under the consumer contract regulations act.

I am in the process of taking legal action against them.

I would avoid using this company at all costs. Companies like this should not be allowed, they take no responsibility for damages and scam you wherever possible.

Stay Away from Anyway!!

I would AVOID AnyVan at all cost!!

I used AnyVan recently to remove my property and after the removal men left my property I unpacked my items and when I turned my TV on I saw a black line and internally cracked screen. Apparently the van men have mal-handled my items and damaged my TV . I contacted AnyVan and I was told that their basic insurance don’t cover damages and that they cannot do anything about it ..

Basically anyvan insurance is for FIRE, LIGHTNING, AIRCRAFT; EXPLOSION AND THEFT caused during transit and does not cover for damages.

As you can see the basic insurance you get when you use AnyVan does not even relates to their main RISK activity which is DAMAGES to people’s property , which is absolutely ridiculous, and in my opinion is FRADULENT !!

So when you use AnyVan you should know that your items are not covered unless you are carrying an AIRCRAFT(It would be interesting to know how many Aircrafts have been removed by AnyVan) unless you are willing to pay extras for their high premium insurance.

I would not recommend AnyVan to anyone to use. As you can see they offer no protecting to your items .One would expect them to at least put measures in place to protect clients items during transit against damages. I would stay away from Anyvan and use local removal companies . I own a blog with reasonable monthly views and I am now considering making a post about this company. This is not acceptable!!. This is a verifiable order and I have posted my order no for them to confirmed. Use local delivery men , those you know and can trust.

House move turned into a nightmare.

We were moving house and chose Anyvan.com because of the great ratings they had on review sites.
They were very easy to book but that is everything went downhill.
They would not let us speak to our moving team directly and we had to go through them.

They estimated that we would need 40 boxes plus our items of furniture. They also said it would only take 3 hours to pack our things. They did not even visit to check. My wife and I were skeptical but we decided to trust the professionals (Mistake!!).

The van they sent only managed to hold 28 boxes. We did not know what we should do or what was going to happen. Every time we called Anyvan.com we were kept on hold for at least 30 mins and when we finally got through the staff were completely useless. They would not tell us what we could or could not do. They gave no instruction. They just kept telling us that they have "escalated" the case. They did not tell us how long that would take. We were left completely clueless with a car full of kids and no home with no idea of when the issues would be resolved.

It seems that when you call their job is just to empathise with you without actually doing anything. They have no power and they will never pass you on to a manager or to anyone who makes decisions. They wanted to unload the entire van and inventory the contents and it was only my wife who stopped them pointing out that this collosal blunder is their problem and they can fix it on their time, not while we have 4 children waiting.

We were just left waiting with no-one to explain to us what we should do except useless people from Anyvan.com who were happy to empathise with us but not help us.
We were distraught when their van just started leaving with a flat tyre and no explanation. We had to chase the van and find out that they were told by head office to go to Manchester (the city we were moving to) and inventory on delivery.
We drove to Manchester and arrived a few hours after they dropped off our things in the house.

They were supposed to rebuild the beds they took apart. They did not.
They also lost most of the screws and bolts needed to re-assemble them and also destroyed one bed.

When we tried to claim this from Anyvan.com first they said they would not pay out without proof of purchase which was ludicrous. I don't need to prove I purchased it to prove they destroyed it. After a few days they told us they would not compensate us for the destroyed furniture as someone had signed a form on delivery saying that all the furniture was delivered with out any damage.
None of us signed such a form!

I considered legal action but my solicitor told me that the huge amount of grief, stress and anger they caused does not constitute a damage. The destruction of the beds would amount to £500 of damages which means that I would have to pay the solicitor costs even if we won. It just wasn't worth it.

We had a total nightmare with this company.
They mistreat you and the people who can make actual decisions hide behind 30-45 minute call hold times and a layer of staff who will do nothing to help you except tell you to wait for an indeterminate time for someone to email you. All they do is say "I totally empathise with you" but they won't tell me what I should do.

An absolute nightmare.
Do not use them!!

Absolute Crooks.

Super expensive, many damaged items & told there was no insurance included so there was nothing they were willing to do to rectify the situation.
One of the removal men was particularly rude & unpleasant. I would not encourage anyone to use this company as it seems to be a number of rogue traders under the umbrella of this big company name.
I now have a number of my possessions which are damaged & no compensation.

Anyvan are criminals.

Dangerous, immoral, unlawful, ungentlemanly service.

Visit https://youtu.be/M1IYmSysNJk and turn the SOUND ON.

Please see the shocking service for yourself by viewing the video footage and turn the sound on. Last week, Anyvan was booked to move our home. After arriving 50 minutes after the scheduled 2 hour window, they then claimed that it took them too long to complete the job and they had too much on to finish it. They then ruthlessly/illegally dumped the entire contents of our home onto the street, leaving my wife alone to guard all of our possessions.

AS YOU WILL HEAR IN THE FIRST VIDEO, the driver states that they are too busy to complete the job and continually promises that Anyvan will send someone else to complete the job. THEY DIDN'T. The driver sarcastically accuses my wife of being dramatic as she pleads with them to finish the job, faced with the prospect of having to guard the entire contents of our home while standing on City Road in the centre of London, with one of the highest crime rates in the UK.

After waiting 20 minutes on hold to speak with Anyvan, they said that there was no way they could send anyone out to finish the job. Tony from Anyvan telephone customer services said that he would call my wife and make sure everything was ok. He was a nice enough guy, but he could do nothing to help, as my wife almost had a breakdown alone on the street while I travelled back to London to try and help. I sent a formal complaint, and received an email from Laura saying that she would be "right back in touch" - nothing happened. Emailed again (to avoid the lengthy phone hold times) and received an email from Joanne assuring me that they were taking the matter seriously.

I gave Anyvan one week to respond properly to this issue and have received no explanation, no formal apology, no compensation on the fees paid, no assistance with our move - nothing. I told them if they did nothing to treat this seriously I would post these videos for everyone to see first hand, and after one week I've received two customer service emails telling me they're following it up, and one missed phone call, to which I responded and never heard back.

I'm £130 down (we moved less than one mile), no formal explanation or response to my complaint, and my wife was put through hell.

DO NOT deal with Anyvan, unless you want to be the next victim on one of these videos.

Long-distance move from London, Greater London to Epsom, Surrey

Cost us almost £2000 and over 25hours worth of moving time.

This is the most horrific and dishonest company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with.
1) the two drivers arrived looking shoddy and in a van that was too small to move our items (very few large items)
2) they made us feel so uncomfortable and were rough with our belongings
3) they had to do two trips, which meant and extended moving day of roughly 8hours
4) they smashed our brand new fridge, desk, coffee table and kitchen table

You may ask.. why if they were shoddy upfront why not cancel/send them away? I wish we had - unfortunately we were under huge time pressure. And naive.

When submitting our claims to AnyVan, despite submitting the original receipts, I was told due to not have a time stamped photo of items JUST prior to moving, there was nothing they could do. This, however, was only told to me a week after chasing them as they claimed to be 'investigating' - the 'investigation' consisted of phoning the driver to be told 'it wasn't him'. Big surprise.

I was then offered a 20% goodwill refund (which was laughable, but hey, it was better than nothing), and I said thank you and drew a line, and cut my losses.. only to notice about a month later, that no such refund had been made. I then had to chase again, and eventually received my refund.

Again, draw a line, move on.. only to then realise that they had reversed a cashback reward offered (and the reason I came to use them in the first place) due to having 'given me a refund'. When I called to ask how this could possibly be honest business practice, I was glibly told that it is what it is.

I pushed to have them confirm that due to absolutely disgusting service and thus a refund, they were now not going to honour the initial offer - and they, quite happily said yes, this was the case.

Not worth the hassle, could not care less about their customers (and in fact claim that your 'agreement' isn't actually with themselves, but with the drivers.. and then refuse to put you in contact with the drivers.

Suffice to say, I wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole (and more specifically the driver Benali and his equally incompetent sidekick - both who looked and grumbled in absolute misery the entire time making us feel like they were doing us the biggest favour) (I have included only 2 photos as I couldn't add more, and couldn't replace with the really damaged stuff!.. tip of the iceberg!)

In a sentence, albeit not a very good one: Disgusting, dishonest, unethical, unprofessional sheisters.

Awful! Avoid them!

Unfortunately I’ve had a terrible experience the first time I used AnyVan and definitely won’t use them again. I would strongly advise against anyone using them, as you have absolutely no protection at all.

According to their terms and conditions, they’re not liable for any damage to your goods that they’re transporting or to your pick-up or delivery properties. Clause 8.1 of their contract states “AnyVan shall have no liability to you for any loss or damage to any of your goods or premises or any other loss suffered
by you arising out of the contract.” I had understood this to mean “outside” of the terms of the contract, but it in fact means that you’re not protected for any damage caused by them / their Partner to anything.

Thankfully my goods weren’t damaged, but AnyVan’s Partner who moved my goods ripped the garden gate off its hinges, didn’t tell me at the time (I was in the house preparing the space for the goods to be placed), and have now denied doing it, as well as any liability for it.

Originally I was told that I needed to provide evidence that the gate was fine when they arrived, but that’s ridiculous to do because that assumes you’re expecting them to damage things, which in good faith of the agreement, I wasn’t. They then said that actually they’re not liable for anything and can’t take my complaint any further.

Sadly this is exactly why I’ve never used a service such as AnyVan before and definitely won’t be using them again. Be warned!

Terrible service and terrible customer service.

If I could leave 0 stars, I would do it.
This is a terrible service for any paying customer.
First of all, this is not a moving company but a delivery company.
They do not take your belongings and deliver them to your new address straight away.
We were in the truck with the driver and it took us 4 hours before reaching our destination because the driver had to pass for two other destinations.
The van is a private van, not a company van.
Moreover, my television was broken during the moving and I had to wait two weeks to receive an email for the claim service stating the following:
"It has come to light that the item was packed in a box.
While I appreciate your frustrations with regards to this matter, as we are unable to verify the condition of the items prior to packing, nor can we verify if the damage occurred whilst the item was being packed, we would not be able to investigate this any further."
I called the customer care and they told me that, considering that the tv was packed and that the driver couldn't check the condition of the television prior to the moving (they have all the photos showing that the television was in perfect conditions), they cannot give me any refund.
WORST MOVING COMPANY EVER.

Avoid these guys.

Shocking service, Avoid if you value your goods.
Shocking service. I would avoid if you value your items. Wish I had read the reviews prior to enlisting their services.

I thought they operated as one unit. Incorrect, they use contractors
I thought they were professional. Incorrect, they were late (despite arranging a two hour time slot), the people that turned up to do the job were not friendly and damaged the item, the house and are not claiming any responsiblilty or liablilty.

They were told at the time that they had damaged the door frame coming into the delivery destination.

I have raised a claim for a damaged door frame and a piano.

Both claims were rejected due to "lack of evidence". I have since sent video footage of one of the drivers inspecting the damages to the door frame, they have since only offered £100 pounds for the damage to the door but will not accept liability for the piano in any way shape or form.

I feel uterly let down and robbed.

Do not use AnyVan.

Bad - very bad. Do not use these guys. I ordered two guys to move a sofa one story up. Simple job. They have managed to bash around the sofa so much, scratched and chipped the walls and door frames very badly. Then refused to take responsibility. It's not professional. Their staff are not trained properly. If I could put the photos of the extensive damage they have caused, which they refused to look into and rectify, I would have done so. My advise: use another company, never use this one.

Box removal with AnyVan.

Process from start to finish was easy.

It was simple to reserve date, time and number of boxes on website, that needed transporting. Could book at my convenience without having to worry about calling within office hours and then put on hold as happens with so many companies.

Driver turned up on time, was polite and helpful and delivered on time following the instructions provided at time of booking, all boxes arrived undamaged and nothing was damaged in transit.

Would highly recommend and will be using again in the future.

Avoid.

AVOID!!

Lying drivers, poor customer services, do what they can to wiggle out and not take responsibility for furniture damage claims. DON'T USE, DON'T TAKE THE RISK. THEY DON'T USE THEIR OWN DRIVERS AND USE 3RD PARTY Inividuals/companies. This company is NOT registered on any of the Ombudsman schemes there you DO NOT HAVE THE SAME PROTECTION. FIND A COMPANY THAT IS A 'REALLY MOVING' OR PART OF 'R. I.O.S' AND DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE DID.

First off, we had our house move booked for between 2-4pm. The drivers didn't arrive until 5:20pm!! I watched as they rushed to take my furniture out of my house, knocking and bashing it against almost every wall on their way. At one point they turned my £1,100 sofa bed on its side causing the mechanism to fall out onto the pavement outside breaking one of the feet and gauging the frame. I even had to go and help them to put it back in as they struggled to keep hold of the whole thing but at this time I didn't notice the extent of the damage. They then took my furniture to our new house where my partner was waiting. At this point they scraped the arm to the same sofa a cross a wall causing staining to the arm. By the end of it all, we had a damaged wardrobe which was inside the door to the frame (God knows how they managed it), they cracked and broke my sons cotbed and also the sofa-bed as mentioned above.

Extremely unhappy, I emailed the company and filled in the relavent details on their claim form. After not much time at all, they came back to me and told me they had reviewed the case in full and in similar words, "the drivers don't recall any damage, the vehicle was more than big enough to fit all of your furniture whilst being strapped safely inside. And unfortunately as you don't have pictures of the areas of furniture that are damaged PRIOR to the damage, your claim is unsuccessful".. Now I'm not sure who takes photos of underneath their sofas, under their children's cot beds or the inside of their wardrobe frames but surely you cannot expect people to do this? I have emailed several times now and all I get it basically, "sorry we are just the mediators/middle men". The fact that witnessed as they recklessly knocked and banged my furniture against the walls both inside and outside my house and at one point, was even forced to help as I watched them drop the sofa bed mechanism out of my sofa, causing damage to arou d £1,500 worth of furniture, and then to be told sorry, there is no evidence and the drivers said "it didn't happen" makes me very annoyed. Like I said, gamble at your own risk but if I was you, I'd pay a little more and get a proper service with a company that is regulated.

Moving a two bedroom flat.

If you can - avoid this company. Well, the only thing which was good was the arrival time -a van was here on time. Everything else was a disaster. We wanted a renown moving company - AnyVan claims that it is the one. A van was not a type for moving a house - too small. A time for a collection had been changed three times. Finally, the van arrived to an address 2 hours in advance. The loading guys were not ready at that time. The van had no padding, no protection, straps..Our fridge was put on a side - it is scratched now. A driver put tyres on the top of all - we have some broken pieces of our furniture. Bookcases were loaded with our books - the backing is damage with 4 out of 6 bookcases. We had to leave some furniture in a flat. God only knows what we are going to do with it. The destination is nearly 1100 miles away.

We booked this company and AnyVan sent a car for 5 cubic meters !! This was for a whole household! We had to wait for another and bigger van for more than a week. They got us because we paid a deposit to secure a booking. I can't imagine if everything else was lined up after the first agreed day. We could have lost more money for a shuttle train to EU, for a hotel..

The price for this "service" is another story - a drive takes cash only at the destination. Otherwise he would not unload his van.

My advice - Never book this company!!

Scam

Drivers were rude. Ripped me off and added an extra £200 claiming I’m not on 2nd floor. I am most definitely on the 2nd floor. They said each landing inbetween the floors counts as another floor!! It’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. Also said its due to the walk from my flat, there is no walk. It’s down a corridor and the van was bang outside my entrance. Customer service were just as bad therefore pending legal action. Taken videos and pics. They haven’t got a leg to stand on. They also broke my TV. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. they are cheap for a reason. The first thing thing the driver did when he arrived was say ooo they look heavy and started moaning. It’s a bed and a sofa. DOH! They made my move 1000 times worse and the only comfort was the nice pad I moved into at the end. What’s worse is I used this company to move into the flat I just moved out of and they didn’t charge me for the apparent walk from my flat to the lifts (takes 10 seconds btw) but this time they do! They also didn’t turn up to that move and we had to rebook for the day after. Yes I’m stupid for using them again but was trying to save money. And it’s backfired.

Avoid these money grabbing crooks. You will find better deals elsewhere

I just had one of the worst experiences from this company. Don’t get fooled by their fancy website, this company just provides a unprofessional sub standard service with bloated overpriced cost.

In short I paid around 150£ and none of my stuff were moved and I did not get a refund.

I hired a van from them a month in advance to move my belongings to a destination just 5 minutes away. I had few boxes and couple of small furnitures, a guitar and 1 big 77 inch television. The only reason I got this mover was to move the big TV otherwise I could have done everything myself with a few Uber trips. I specifically mentioned to them during purchase that I had a 77inch TV and it’s even mentioned in the receipt as 1 of my items. I paid around 130£ initially for the entire service.

On the day of the move I had a call from them saying they can’t find a driver and if I can postpone the move. This is despite the fact I booked 1 month in advance. It was Easter weekend and I couldn’t postpone it. So I had to chase them to get me a driver which they eventually did.

The drivers came into my room and took some of my stuff quickly like they were in a rush in the van. They could not fit one of my furniture through the door. They had to remove 1 screw to remove a leg so that it could fit through the door. They charged me 20£ more and asked me further 30£ to fit that screw back again at the destination which I refused.

And when it came to the TV they looked at it and immediately said they will not take it because it’s too big for them and they don’t want to risk it even though I told them it’s one of the items mentioned during my purchase. They said they will only take the TV if I sign a document that I will be the one responsible if THEY do any damage which I found to be absolutely ridiculous. The TV was mentioned beforehand and they should have come prepared which they never did.

The whole purpose of hiring them was to take this TV so there was no point paying them. So I told them to leave and bring back some of my stuff which they took and kept in the van. On bringing back they dropped and damaged my guitar and they even hit my TV while carrying some stuff like they didn’t care.

After I cancelled and asked them to leave I tried calling their customer service for a refund and it’s one of the worst service I experienced. I tried calling like 10 times and each time they put you in complicated endless IVR options and eventually saying all their agents are busy. This happened for like 2 hours. Fed up calling them I had to visit their website and chat to an agent. They said they will call me back urgently. I had to wait another couple of hours for them make a call.

The uninterested unsympathetic agent said because I was the one who cancelled it they will NOT do a refund. So I paid around 150£ and none of my stuff were moved and I didn’t get any refund. All my money went drown the drain into their pockets for nothing.

Later I had to call another mover and explained them my situation and it was urgent that I moved today. They came late in the night and moved everything for 90£.

Please do not make the mistake I did. Do NOT use their service. They are just money grabbing crooks and their whole purpose is to charge overpriced and provide absolutely rubbish service. They are nothing but Thieves and Liars. I won’t get my money back but please do not fall in the same trap I did and avoid their rubbish service.

Don't trust the good reviews or flashy advertising!

Don't fall for the good reviews and flashy advertising. It's completely luck of the draw! AnyVan use contractors which means that you won't always get that nice pretty AnyVan Van to turn up at your house, you might get any old van with any old contractors. For me these contractors were rude, unprofessional and potentially dangerous as I suspected they were drunk.

You could see my tipped over furniture in the back of the van when they opened it but they didn't seem to care. I contacted AnyVan about this behaviour and they said it was fine, that it was my word against the driver's. I offered them two witnesses and pictures but they turned me down, despite me warning them that the drivers in all likely hood weren't sober. I would only be offered a refund if I could prove damage and prove receipts for that damage. I and anyone else who was treated like this should just get a refund flat out. Just find a local well reviewed driver, don't fall for the flashy advertising and good reviews.

Brilliant removal firm

Mine was an awkward job. I had to get two huge wardrobes from an eBay seller to me, about 400 miles away. My seller was given regular updates of eta, and she complemented them after they’d collected saying they were really careful and polite. I could then track them and they arrived after a very long day, full of energy! They were just brilliant, a great firm to deal with. Don’t hesitate, use them

Unacceptable service

You pay upfront, after that they don't care. The drivers are allocated last minute and might arrive from anywhere in the country. David Nash and his mate were an hour late and were in extreme rush. Treated our stuff as rubbish, managed to move whole household in 1 hour as they were late "for Sunday roast". Argued that the cream sofa shouldn't be covered as it would be inconvenient for them to carry it.

The result is lots of damaged items and plants: broken fridge, scratched expensive leather armchair, black stain on the cream sofa impossible to get rid of, scratched chairs etc.

After we tried to complain and negotiate compensation AnyVan stopped replying and wouldn't give both drivers' names, we know that one of them is David Nash. The complaint has to go to the Ombudsman now. Avoid at all costs and don't pay upfront!

The fact is that AnyVan are a sales organisation. Full stop. By this I mean they have very few staff. The collection and delivery men are sub contract. As far as I can see the storage they use is also sub contract too.

We dealt with a really helpful Sales guy called Barney. He "sold" AnyVan to us. The utmost care would be taken with our possessions and we should not worry at the fact that our items would have to go into Storage for a while - as the containers were all clean, sealed and kept at a constant temperature. The furnishings would be wrapped in protection so nothing could go wrong.

The Collection Men duly arrived at the set time / date. This is where the "journey" started. They guys although very polite told us they were "sub contract"....meaning they weren't employed by AnyVan. Honestly, they were useless. Clueless. We were horrified as they dragged out the Washing Machine leaving a trail of water behind them....then dragging our lovely white mattress through it. Where was the cover for the mattress that you promised Barney ??? In fact where were the covers for anything ???? The settee... They huffed and puffed and tried this way and that to "force" it through the doorway....eventually I showed them how to turn it so it easily went through. And so it went on with all our items....

I rang Barney to alert him as to my concerns...."oh he's not available"....I emailed him....no reply. Christmas and New Year came and went...still nothing. So I called Customer Services. Well I may as well have spoken to the wall. The lady frankly was useless. She had a "what do you want me to do about it attitude?"

So, the day of the delivery from the items having been in storage for some 4 months. Our fears were realised. Even the Delivery guy was apologetic. Now bear in mind ALL our furnishing were previously in A1 condition. The £800 mirror had bashed in corners, the £225 picture chipped and the canvass cut, the Dining Table and chairs filthy and chipped, the settee is filthy and you just wonder what on earth they did with it, the bed, soaked with dirty water etc etc. I have photos of all this BTW and how the items were jammed into the delivery lorry with no protection. Items fallen to the floor.....

Fortunately I had their "upgraded" Insurance Policy...Ha !! What a joke. As derisory £250 for damage to £3,000 worth of goods.

I made AnyVan aware of all this. Have I received an apology....you must be joking....

Well they replied today (16th May). Now bear in mind that collection, storage and delivery is AnyVan's core business. Its what they do. To damage our items as they did by shear neglect and to be charged some £2,500.00 for the privilege is quite frankly disgraceful. On top of that, rather than hold your hands up and admit you messed up BIG TIME you shove the blame on to the Insurers (Zurich) for not compensating us adequately. You are just a bunch of Cowboys....

I repeat to anyone "DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY".

Well, yesterday we finally finished unpacking. Yes, it took a while. We went to use the Pyrex Kitchenware. Nowhere to be seen. Gone, MIA. Beware, you only have 1 week to put in a claim.....Just a shocking company.

Do not use this company

This company is dreadful, they will damage your furniture.

Arranged removal of furniture from a flat in Southampton with drop off of 1 piece of furniture 3 miles up the road and the rest being taken to Durham. Drivers supposed to arrive on the day 8-9am, arrived 9:30am supposed to be 2 people, only 1. Rental van loaded with furniture with NO protective packaging on any of the furniture. When booking we made we were told the furniture would all be carefully packaged to protect it. Driver then drove back to London rather than delivering pierce of furniture 3 miles down the road. Driver not contactable, would not answer phone, waited in at delivery address all day. Furniture eventually delivered in Southampton 2:30pm the next day, was told would be 10am delivery 7:30pm the next day in Durham remainder of the furniture- about 50% of it damaged, driver saw damage and simply did not care, company do not care- simply awful. They will take your money and then ruin your belongings.

Horrendous experience.

Paid over £3000 for house move to then be told by the removal operatives I would need to pay an extra £1300 or they would leave some of my items behind as I had too many boxes - I had already switched out some large furniture items & replaced with the boxes. I refused to pay the exorbitant amount & within a few minutes they reduced it to £800 & then £700. Within 30 minutes of paying the extra £700 another removals van arrived (supposedly from over 85 miles away) to take the extra boxes. I have concluded that adding extra charges at the last minute was premeditated as a van was obviously on standby. I had also paid an extra £150 to have 3 wardrobes dismantled & reassembled but they only did this for 1 wardrobe. 1 of the wardrobes not dismantled was damaged in the move & I'm still awaiting return of money for the service not being fully provided - I had been told it was compulsory to have the wardrobes dismantled when I booked with AnyVan. A number of items were also badly damaged in the move & removal operatives had to be asked to stop throwing boxes on & off their vans & to get off expensive racing bikes - one of which had brakes damaged. Despite me providing photographic evidence of damage AnyVan have decided they cannot support my compensation claim as I signed a waiver. Yes, I signed a waiver, but I was told at the time this was for the disassembling of wardrobes & was again advised by AnyVan customer service operative that this was compulsory. I would certainly not recommend this company due to my horrendous experience.

Long-distance move from Tamworth, Staffordshire to Canterbury, Kent

Title: Extremely Disappointing Experience

I recently had the misfortune of using AnyVan for a house move, and I must say that it was a wholly unsatisfactory experience from start to finish. The issues I encountered throughout the process were not only distressing but also indicative of a systemic problem within this company.

My initial concerns arose when the AnyVan team arrived for the move, and it was clear that they were ill-prepared for a task of the magnitude of a four-bedroom house with a double garage. They arrived with two small-sized removal vans that were inadequate for the job, demonstrating a severe underestimation of the workload.

The move was originally scheduled as a one-day operation, despite several other professional removal companies recommending a two-day move with a three-man crew. This decision placed undue pressure on the AnyVan team, resulting in a 12-hour ordeal that extended into the evening. This exhaustion and time constraint led to a noticeable decline in their care and attention towards the end of the day.

What's most concerning is that the Transport Providers, assigned by AnyVan, were expected to accomplish a two-day job in just one day. This was not realistically achievable and created an environment in which damages were more likely to occur.

Regrettably, during the move, my wooden furniture sustained significant damage. I firmly believe that the responsibility for this damage lies not only with the Transport Providers but also with AnyVan itself. Their decision to contract ill-prepared and unqualified staff for the job, who arrived without the necessary equipment, reflects a severe lack of professionalism.

Despite presenting a compelling case with evidence, AnyVan's response has been not only insulting but also dismissive of the legitimate concerns I raised. They have offered a settlement that is woefully insufficient and fails to address the extent of the damages and the associated inconvenience and financial burden.

To my dismay, AnyVan has chosen to uphold their stance without acknowledging the inherent flaws in their approach to my move. Their unwillingness to accept their mistake in underestimating the scope of the job and failing to provide adequately skilled and equipped personnel is a testament to their lack of accountability.

This entire experience has left me deeply dissatisfied with AnyVan, and I would caution anyone considering their services to think twice. In light of their response, I believe that prospective customers should be aware of the potential risks associated with entrusting AnyVan with their belongings during a move.

In my opinion, the derisory settlement offered does not come close to addressing the damage and distress caused by AnyVan's lack of preparation and professionalism. I now find myself seeking alternative avenues to rectify this situation and hold AnyVan accountable for their actions.

This experience has left me profoundly disappointed, and I hope that my review serves as a warning to others who may be considering AnyVan for their moving needs.

DISGUSTING

If I could rate zero stars I would.

I hired anyvan to do my house move. They HIRE other people who are incompetent. 2 men came with a small van and I expressed my concern as it was a full house move. The men could not speak English and somehow managed to put my full house hold items into 1 small van.

During the removal they damaged 2 of 4 flat screen televisions. 1 that cost £2000. A oak mirror, fridge freezer, washing machine and dryer all dented and scratched massively. The above I put in a claim for obviously and the removal men said the damage was already done. Yeh no images to support the damage. They had taken images of damage to other items in my old house which I pointed out to them also. Anyway. It was then that I became aware that anyvan use a 3rd party. And I am not insured for damage with anyvan. They will not provide me with the lads insurance provider due to confidentiality. These lads have caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to my belongings and AnyVan have said if they do not accept liability I will be given up to £100 towards each damaged item. I am seeking legal advice and hope anyvan will be slammed with the legal bill.

The only advice I will give is stay well clear of this terrible company and save your self the upset of items being badly damaged.

My cooker was also badly damaged but before I realised I was not insured for damage I did not claim for this as my cooker had other damage so I felt it was unreasonable to claim for it.

Any van promised my tvs would be taken down and put up. Then they said they do not do this.

Any Van is not as good as they like to make out. My home appliances are ruined. One lad trampled poo all over my carpets. I paid for 3 beds to be taken down and put back up. They are loose and I am unable to do it my self due to physical health problems. Honestly wouldn't waste your money

Long-distance move from Hampshire to Yorkshire

AN AWFUL COMPANY!

HORRENDOUS COMPANY!

I had gone through the whole phone process and walk around of what I needed moving. I was quoted and paid the amount asked and I didn’t use their ultimate service as there were only a couple items I wanted extra protection for which I paid extra to have these special items packed and protected by them (custom made desk and artwork). On the day of moving the team that turned up instantly charged me an extra £1000 saying I was over my quota and I had to pay it there and then or I wouldn’t have my belongings moved (keeping in mind only 1 can was actually packed at this point). The team they sent me didn’t speak a word of English so I couldn’t even communicate what I wanted to and when I told them to speak to my sales consultant at Anyvan they didn’t know who I was on about. I called my sales consultant and he said that’s wrong we’ll sort out compensation for you.

I was assured weeks before that they would protect my carpets as I was leaving rented property and they walked mud all into the house. My home was loaded onto 2luton vans for delivery the following day.

The next day 1 van arrived and I was informed the other had broken down somewhere in Birmingham and would be with me later. The second van that turned up around 1700 was a totally different van and the second delivery had now actually been split into 2 deliveries and the last delivery didn’t show up until 2200 that night by which point I couldn’t unpack anything as I was exhausted myself from a 6hour drive the day before from Hampshire to Wakefield and didn’t get to bed until 2am.

When communicating with the removal teams boss by phone he was very dismissive and argumentative.

The precious items I paid extra for to be packaged by them turned up with one pathetic layer of MY own bubble wrap to one of my £990 pieces of artwork was damaged. When I went through Anyvan’s claim team they took weeks to investigate, their communication with me was extremely poor and I had to chase them for updates and when they did get back to me, despite them saying they acknowledge the damages were fresh they claim that they probably got damaged when I unpackaged it and they would offer me £175 in total for damages to two pieces of artwork and a custom made £4500 desk!

An absolute AWFUL company in the way they have treated myself and my father and if this is how they treat disabled people then I’d hate to see how they treat able bodied persons! Calling me a liar and offering an insulting amount of compensation to my precious items even after I said I didn’t want to pursue other items that got damaged, only the items that could not be replaced!

PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY because for what I ended up paying I could have paid for a well known national moving company; they’re clearly out to save themselves money and obviously don’t care at all about the customers belongings. I’ve not been this upset and insulted ever after paying for a service let alone to be called a liar. If I wanted my items to be dropped kicked into the back of a Mercedes sprinter I’d have made the effort with my good leg to do it myself!

I have asked them for the CEO’ contact details and they have refused. I asked them to speak to a manager on numerous occasions and they refused. I WILL be taking my case further as far as it will go.
