Pittsburgh to Idaho

It's taken me over a year to write this review, because I still have mixed emotions about the move.

I dealt with Ted during the planning process. He was great! Very patient and answered numerous questions. It took me a long time to book with him, so patience was key at this point.

What everyone should be aware of is that All American acts as a go between, between you and the company that will actually move you. This was the case for me, at least.

First thing to know is to not even pay attention to the estimate. It would be better if you used a company that can give you an in-person estimate.

I was very thorough in listing the items in my son's studio apartment. I was very particular in sizes of items and even purposely overestimated the number of boxes that were needed to ensure that we estimated the correct needed square footage. I was particularly anal of this process.

When the movers that All American contracted with, (Family Van Lines, INC), arrived, they were in the apartment less than two minutes before proclaiming that the estimate was underestimated and would cost and additional amount of money. We were quoted $2576 from All American. Family Van Lines demanded just over $2,000 more than was estimated. I was in a different state than my son, so he was left there on his own having to deal with figuring out how to get additional funds for the move, since credit cards could not be used.

The movers were selected at the eleventh hour by All American, but that was within their contracted window, so although it caused a great deal of anxiety, they did book the movers in time for them to arrive on the needed date, (Tina worked late into the night to make sure that was done).

The movers were late, (not All-American's fault), but got the move done. Other than the obvious price shake-down, they did a great job.

Although we thought and wished that delivery would happen sooner than it did, the movers arrived on the last day possible, per the agreed upon contract.

All in all, I learned that moving sucks. I've done numerous military moves in the past, so I had certain expectations, that were not realized during this move, however, it is important to note, that other than an inaccurate estimate, (which I place more fault on Family Van Lines, INC. than I do All American), All American met all of their obligations per the agreed upon contract.

The bottom-line is would I use them again? (Sigh). Maybe... I think I would be more comfortable paying more for a company that actually comes to my home and gives me an accurate estimate, (It was far too easy for the movers to extort money from you once they arrive). What else were we to do? The movers were schedule when they were for a reason. We had planes to catch and places to be.

If I do use All American again, it would be because of Ted and Tina. I felt Ted was VERY honest with me. I learned a lot about the moving process from him. I also felt Tina worked hard to make the move happen. I thank them both and hope they both are still with the company.

If you have been exploited and mistreated by All American Moving & Storage (AAMS), like myself and so many others, then please do the following:

When submitting these complaints, reference AAMS’ DOT number 2811689 and their ICC/MC number 937315.

Long story short, I hired AAMS to move me from Fort Lauderdale, FL to Salem, MA. It was the single-most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with, and my life has never been more disrupted by any event in my whole life as it was by this move. Here are the details:
- AAMS picked up on December 8th (I let them choose the pick-up date based on my concrete deliver date of Dec 20th at the latest), and on multiple occasions, promised me delivery by Dec. 20th at the latest. They did not deliver until January 17th…nearly a month late. The truck driver, a sub-contractor of AAMS, told me that my belongings didn’t even leave AAMS until January 12th, despite AAMS telling me for weeks that my belongings were in-route…a blatant lie.
- Countless phone calls and text messages to both owners’ mobile phones and to the AAMS office went unanswered after they picked up my belongings.
- David, the sales rep who sold me my moving package, had me sign a contract that didn’t match—at all—what we discussed on the phone, and what he verbally agreed to. My fault for not reviewing each detail in the contract before signing it…I gave AAMS the benefit of the doubt, and now regret doing it. Evidently, David has since been fired.
- I was told I could use a credit card for all transactions associated with the move. However, upon delivery, the driver demanded cash or a money order for the balance (over $800) before he would take anything off the truck. Upon closer examination of my contract, I noticed that my contract said ‘cash on delivery for balance’, contrary to what David told me, and contrary to the 2 payments I made to AAMS with my credit card.
- The owner promised me a partial refund to my credit card, but offered a mere $23
- My hurricane emergency kit (a duffel bag filled with things like a radio, batteries, solar phone chargers, battery-powered fans etc) mysteriously went missing. I’ll be filing a claim for this.
- The owner called and threatened me after he learned of my negative online reviews of AAMS. He said, "You want to bash my business online? You've got B@LLS, son!" Then he hung up on me.
- In-general, awful customer service: lies, phony excuses for missed delivery dates, no accountability on the part of AAMS, and downright rudeness from Jordan, part-owner and VP of the business.

Again we have explained several times that at the time of the move there were many winter storms that were out of our control. We informed you of this as you agreed with us on the phone of the storms. We apologized for the delay in delivery. Also the contract you electronically signed stated that your 1st available delivery dates were 12/19/2017 or 12/20/2017. That means your delivery window didn't begin till those dates. We did deliver in the delivery window. We have explained to you several times also that if any damages occurred during the move to please contact the office at 888-507-89523 or visit our website www.all-movingandstorage.com and fill our a claim form. Once the claim is processed and received it takes 30-120 days to process and then a claim check will be mailed to you. The contract also states you could contact a third party for full coverage insurance. The coverage you signed off on was 60 cents per pound per article. Here is a copy of the contract you signed:

Amazing.

My experience with All American Moving was my best moving experience yet. Everybody was very professional from the guys in the field to the office staff. My stuff was very well taken care of I moved from a condo in Hollywood to another condo in Hollywood. The men worked very fast but efficient at the same time. When the men delivered everything to my new condo everything showed up in the same condition it left. The stuff was wrapped in blankets just like they promised it would be. Everybody says moving is stressful but these guys really knew what they were doing and made everything look so easy. I will definitely use this company again in the future the next time I plan on moving.

Do not use this company.

As many others, I too have had the misfortune of dealing with All American Moving and Storage. Towards the end of last year we made the mistake of utilizing them to handle our moving needs. After having inconvenienced us by arriving over 4 hours late to pick up our belongings which were to be kept secured in one of their trucks inside their warehouse, we learned 3 days later that a 90 percent of our personal belongings were damaged having spent the past 3 days soaked in rain water. Turns out the company was negligent and failed to secure their truck inside a warehouse as promised to us and turns out they obviously do not conduct preventative maintenance checks on their vehicles as they claimed they were unaware the roof of the truck was severely damaged thus allowing water to get inside of it. One can only imagine the level of disappointment to see all of ones belongings in that condition, immediately a call was made to their office to inform them of their incident and from that moment on we realized what type of company and individuals we were dealing with. Instead of being sympathetic and apologetic they were the opposite and at times even becoming argumentative. Now when I speak of personal belongings, I do not only speak of furniture, I speak of such items such as countless number of clothing, shoes, hats, toys, family pictures, home décor, books, journals, collectibles, and memorabilia that was destroyed as well. I speak of family heirlooms that are irreplaceable and that one cannot place a monetary value on. It’s ironic that when they were notified of the damaged items they immediately instructed their team of drivers to stop unloading items from the truck. It should be noted that at no point in time did we threaten to not pay for the service or anything along those lines but instead they had their drivers essentially force us to pay the remaining balance immediately prior to unloading anything else from the truck. If it wasn’t bad enough that they had just destroyed a lifetime of one’s personal belongings, they were now threatening to keep the remaining ones unless we paid for them up front. From that moment on the lies and deception began and that’s when we were able to see the company’s true colors starting from the top with their owner/president Chad Anthony Bottiglieri. Mr. Bottiglieri notified us on the day of the move that he would be showing up to our house the next morning with a representative from a water restoration company. After waiting all day for them to arrive and Mr. Bottiglieri not answering or returning any of our messages we finally gave up but got a glimpse as to the lies and lack of customer support we would encounter over the next several months. Mr. Bottiglieri makes promises and assurances he is not willing to stand by. In all my years I have never come across a more unprofessional and integrity lacking individual. From promises to help us dispose of and/or store are damaged goods to prevent the mold smell from permeating into our home to promises of issuing a refund or assisting in getting the insurance company to honor our claim in the full amount, all turned out to be lies. Lies of this having been the first time a customer had a bad experience dealing with his company to lies of this having to be the first time he has had to file a claim for damaged property to lies of him willing to do what’s right and compensate us for the differential that the insurance company did not only account for a fraction of the misleading lies we were told. Mr. Bottiglieri went as far as showing up to our home the day the insurance adjuster came on site to survey the damaged goods, while at our home he spoke of how he would never want to be responsible for one losing all of their belongings and how he had spoken to his family and gotten reassurance from them that he was to do what was right. These were simply just a series of other manipulative lies from Mr. Bottiglieri. After over three months of being misled we received a partial settlement from the insurance company. When confronted and asked if he would be willing to simply help out and refund us the cost of the move, to offset the partial refund, Mr. Bottiglieri immediately agreed stating it was the right thing to do and the least he could do to help out. Unbeknownst to us this was just another lie. I could go on and write more but have chosen to handle this manner otherwise. It should be noted that the lack of professionalism and integrity does not only stem from the top of this organization as we experienced it from others as we experienced it from essentially everyone we dealt with within the company. I hope in reading this review that others look in another direction when looking for a company to handle their moving needs.

Sorry for any inconveniences we have caused you. The damages that occurred during your move were not intentional. We did everything in our power to rectify this situation. We did meet you at you're home with our insurance company to assess the damaged as promised. After our insurance company assessed the damages they cut a check for $5,000.00 or more. The case was then settled properly through our insurance company.

No one from our company ever threaten you to pay us before unloading. We asked for payment during the unload as standard procedure. Nor did the owner or any office staff ignore your calls or emails. We followed the standard procured during the claim process and what our insurance company asked of us.

Move to Melbourne.

I moved from a townhouse in Delray Beach to a house in Melbourne. I can truly say that this was my best experience with a move. They were on time and very professional. They toke care with all my stuff and everything arrived undamaged. There was no surprise at the end with any extra added on fees. I paid exactly what I was quoted. I would recommend them to anyone and if I ever need to move again (I hope not) I will call Chad.

Picke Up, Packed And Stored.

Hired company to move one of my clients. They packed up everything, and also stored it which is exactly what my client needed. They were very professional, communicated well, on-time, flexible with accommodating my client and went above and beyond to make sure my client was taken care of. I will definitely be using them again. The client needed their stuff moved rushed and All American was super quick in getting this done. Jordan and Chad were a big help.

Worst experience ever.

We were robbed jewelry and watches. The crew was late on pick up and did not have the tools needed to perform the task. I had to borrow tools from my neighbors. On top of that one of the crew member who always stayed inside the truck opened our suitcases and we were robbed a box full of watches and some jewelry. We never got compensated by this company. We asked about their insurance but we never got anything back from them after paying in full for the moving services.

Unfortunately two movers who were involved in the incident have been with us for over six years and have never had a issue or problem to this statue. The owner of our company has stepped in and had both movers incarcerated since this incident. We are sorry that the crew we assigned to you was late to your job. The situation was out of our control the night before your move date we did not make the cut off of 5 pm to a guard gate. We were forced to bring the truck back to our location to hold the items till the following morning. We did our best to get to you in a quickly manner and we contacted you several times throughout the morning to inform you of the situation. We asked for a claim form to be filled out to process your claim. We never received a claim form for you. We deal with a high volume of customers so, we take certain procedures to insure claims are handled properly. After every move is finished our company policy is for the foreman to do a walk through with the customers to insure that there is no damages. Our bill of lading states that your job had no damages. We our very sorry for the inconvenience.

Great move!

All American moved me from Fort Myers to Davie. I just graduated and I was moving back home with my mom. I don't have a lot of money and when I called them to get a quote they were very professional and detailed. They explained how the move would work and also that they had a truck going up that way and could give me a discount. Also gave me a college student discount. The movers were in uniform and so polite. They wrapped all my furniture. I honestly was scared to hire movers but they made me feel like family. I tipped the movers because of how hard they worked and how they took care of my furniture. I will recommend All American to all my friends and family. These guys are great!!

Pick up crew were professional without any BS.
I would use again for all my future moves!

This group did what thet said and were quick as could ever be expected on pick up date and delivery date.

Worth Every Penny!

What can I say about All American moving? From the very first call I knew I was in good hands, Jordan walked me through everything and explained what to expect on moving day. On moving day the guys were right on time. After introducing myself to Andrew and Tommy I was more then comfortable to let them in and start the show before I knew it everything was packed neatly and in the truck ready for the new house. I had arrived before them so I can re arrange some furniture in the new house. I was having a hard time moving that on my own but the crew was more then happy to jump in and take over. everything was brought in the house and installed perfect no mess no empty boxes laying around Overall A+ rating and I would highly recommend these guys anytime. I now know I would never attempt a move on my own, All American is saved in my phonebook for the future.

600lb Safe Move.

I called All American Moving and Storage and they were at my house within a hour. They moved my 600lb safe to the second floor of my home with 4 guys. As you can imagine that's no easy task. I highly recommend All American Moving and Storage for your moving needs. I know I'll be using them again next time I move. Pack & Move from Pembroke Pines, FL to Green Cove Springs, Fl.

From start to finish, everyone was courteous, friendly, reliable and professional. Jordan, Chad, Charlie, Mike and the entire crew were top notch. We couldn't be more pleased with every phase of our move. I felt like they treated our possessions like their own. My son lives 10 minutes away from our new home and they volunteered to drop off a refrigerator and patio set to his home that we brought for them. Also, as they were leaving, I took a quick trip to the emergency room (overheated and dehydrated). I not only heard from the drivers the next day to check on us, but our rep in Ft. Lauderdale. I would recommend these folks without reservation. This was our 14th move and was one of the best.

Excellent & Trustworthy.

I used All American Moving to move out of my apartment in Miami and was pleasantly surprised with the level of professionalism and service. They arrived on time, worked quickly and listened to my needs. I felt that they were taking care of my items while moving quickly which was important to me.
I was moving alone and they were very helpful and went the extra mile, even helping me shrink wrap my couch and re-pack my car as to avoid another trip back down.
They made the experience as painless as possible and I would use them again in a heartbeat. - Especially at such a competitive price!!

I called All American Moving and Storage and was given an appointment within 2 days. They accounted for all furniture in their estimate. The day of the move, they were extremely gentle with each piece of furniture, wrapping them all in a way that prevented any damage. Upon arrival to the new home, they asked where to place all the furniture, built them with care and really took care of them. They were very professional from beginning to end. I would definitely recommend them to anyone!!

Worst customer experience ever.

Received several estimates from an online inquire and All American Moving and Storage was the cheapest. Alec, the sales person was very intentive until we gave our deposit. He viewed all of the furniture we were moving and said that the quote he sent over was binding and the price wouldn't go up. We were foolish to do so. We scheduled our move for a Thursday or Friday. Late Thursday they told us they couldn't be there until Saturday. This was a horrible inconvenience but we were able to arrange our schedule to accommodate theirs. When the driver arrived Saturday morning the first thing he said is who is paying and demanded an additional $500 for the packaging. There was no mention from the sales rep that there may be an additional cost for packaging. He personally viewed the furniture and saw there were 2 large mirrors. Charging $500 for packaging on a $2000 move is insane. The driver said that if I wasn't satisfied with the extra cost to call the office. It was Saturday and the office was closed when I called them. Since we were now on this company's schedule instead of our own which was agreed upon we were out of options. There was nothing we could do but pay him. We put our trust in a company that we should not have. I emailed the attentive sales person Alec on Monday and didn't hear back from him. Over 24 hours later I called and was told he was not available and he would call me back. He didn't call back so I called again on Wednesday and spoke to Pete. He said he was handling the situation but obviously was clueless as to what was going on. He stated we probably had more furniture then was in the contract, we didn't. He said the charge was excessive and we were "idiots" for signing it. He said we could have canceled. Again we had no choice. He kept calling me pal and was completely unprofessional. He told us there would be no refund at all. Upon realizing this we stressed the importance of our deliver be done on the following Tuesday (8 days later.) Pete said he would do his best to make sure it got there on that date. The date we were supposed to get the furniture we were told that it could be there between 6-8 that day but not guaranteed. We were told that the only way we could guarantee deliver on that day is with a $400 additional charge. Dispstch called us back and said they could waive the fee for us and were professional. The same dispatch person then called us back and said that Pete had applied the $400 fee and she couldn't change it because he is her boss. Our initial quote was $2,000 and ended up paying $2,900 for them almost doing what they were supposed to do. They used bait and switch tactics, are crooks and unprofessional. Long-distance move from Charlotte, NC to Sacramento, CA

Horrible Company, Dispatchers & Customer Service Liars.

Your price will go up once the truck is fully loaded. The drivers will make a fake call into the dispatcher and say the cubic feet is more than quoted. They will tell you that it is $2,000 to $3,500 over in cost. The driver will act as someone who understands and sympathizes with the additional cost and will tell you and dispatcher who is in on this, that they have another job and they can reduce the additional cost down to $800 to $1,500 instead of the larger amount, but cash will be needed to get this lower price. Stick with you quote and call police. Also the delivery date they provide you will be a minimum of an additional 7 to 10 more days before it actually will get to you. Lastly, they sell your move (broker it out to ANY TRUCKING COMPANY). It gets unloaded a minimum of 2 times before your items arrive in BAD & POOR CONDITION. Forget about no nicks, damage, tears, and rips. With All American selling your load and the items being loaded & unloaded several times, your items take a lot of abuse. Buy upgraded heavy duty boxes from Lowe's and Home Depot, they will still be bent, busted, and destroyed but at least your items may have a small chance of just being slightly damaged. The entire moving industry is built on low bids and selling your van load to the lowest bidder. One piece of big advice, Use the national name brand movers (United Van Lines, Mayflower, North American, etc..) they have better reputations and they are not quick to go out of business. Most major companies use them for their employee moves so they will service better. Last thing, All American and others like them are a low bid scam. When you are very specific in your inventory items of your household still prepare for the OVER CUBIC FEET CHARGE. Once they have your stuff all monies have to be paid before they reload or unload. Once your items are in van your items are now able to be held hostage for payment. Hold your ground and call police when they play the cubic feet game. The drivers all have criminal backgrounds (Moving Companies can't control other drivers who are bidding in the open market so backgrounds are lied about), the drivers do not want the police showing up due to most having warrants and expired drivers licenses. All America has a great & believable sales pitch. The problem is all they want is the deposit then you will never hear from them again. The drivers will tell you they use labor hall workers to help unload your items and these workers have not been vetted from the labor company nor the moving company. The workers are not professional movers nor do most have the desire to move dressers, sofas, refrigerators, or washers & dryers. They are there to get their addiction filled before being dropped off at the homeless shelter. Beware of this company, go with one of the big name moving companies and spend a few cents more per cubic feet. It's worth the aggravation, headaches, loss of valued furniture, and they will provide real insurance claims for damaged items.

Horrible Experience.

Moving trucks shows up with my stuff but with no movers! My family & I had to unload the truck ourselves for over 12 hours. They refused to reduce the amount due even though my fammily and their 72 yr old driver did all of the work.
To make matters worse several items were broken or destroyed including my 55" curve TV having a crack right down the center of the TV, my wooden upright piano completely destroyed with water damage, my 1 week old coach ruined with water damage (it smells awful), Broken tiles and loads of scratches on my fire pit table. Not to mention a ton a little things that alone mean nothing but added up..
I've called over and over again and no one is addressing these issues. I just keep getting ignored. I shouldn't of paid the balance upon delivery but the driver insisted.
Now I have to take my time to go to small claims court cause people like this should not be able to get away with this and much more they shouldn't be allowed to be in business.
My advice..Call someone else!

All American Moving And Storage, Hollywood, fl.

BUYER BEWARE. ALL AMERICAN MOVING AND STORAGE IS A DISREPUTABLE COMPANY. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND NOT PERFORM. I contacted them concerning a move. I was given an “estimate” of $1,450 by a sales representative named “Chris” based on detailed descriptions and photographs of my furniture. I allowed them to charge my credit card for a $550 deposit. The move was scheduled for December 1. Instead, they arrived in a discarded U-Haul truck with the lettering scratched out on December 7. I was not able to contact them during the interim period – they did not respond to telephone calls, texts or e-mails and frequently did not have an active voice mail box. Without looking at my furniture, the van driver said that the price of the move would be $2,950. After a long negotiation with the driver using a “dispatcher” as a foil, we agreed on a price of $2,000. The driver then demanded another payment of $750 in cash. I was promised a delivery date of December 12. My furniture finally arrived on December 21. I was told by the delivery driver that my furniture had changed hands among five different movers. A couple of boxes containing personal items had been opened and items removed from them. One bed frame was badly dented and a table was scratched in several places. The company must have blocked my contact information as I am now unable to communicate with them. They claim that “Chris” is unknown to them. I have since learned that they are in default with DOT and numerous complaints have been filed against them with other regulators. The entire experience with All American Moving and Storage has been costly and emotionally draining. I urge others to avoid what has been an unbelievably terrible experience.

Sorry for this inconvenience. The reason for the driver coming with a U-haul truck was that you needed a shuttle to pick up your items. The tractor trailer could not fit at the pick up. The contract you electronically signed stated that there would be fees and cost in case you need a shuttle. The driver determines if a shuttle is needed at pick up or delivery. The driver did not demand money, he explained to you the additional cost of the move. You had the opportunity to cancel the move and select another moving company. We do our best to service every job to the best of our ability. We do feel we gave you the options and explained everything in great detail to you. Move from TN to PA 12/2017.

Overall positive outcome in doing business with All American. Truly a learning experience for me.
I spoke with David on several occasions, who was attentive and informative..and a bit incorrect on some statements. Realize that when you entertain an estimate from moving companies, you need to know where you stand with the packing of your items. Are you complete? Do you have a realistic count of boxes? I believe this is why so many bad reviews of dollar value change from estimate to actual. To be fair, your two bedroom apartment could contain 30 boxes, or a 100. Also, I learned a week before pickup, and after estimate, that we had to empty all drawers. This changed the cubic feet/quantity dramatically of course!
When Charlie and Eddie arrived, on time, a new inventory had to be taken. I no longer could speak to Sales/David. I now had to speak with Dispatch, who of course did not have all the details of our conversation. The office took so long to come back with the new amount, on a Saturday, the bank closed. David said a personal check would be accepted, this was not true-but I wasn't surprised by that. David said it was a dedicated truck, but it was not. There was also some miscommunication on the delivery date. These things ended up being minor in the big picture, and we worked through them with Charlie and Eddie.
The important note that I am trying to make here is that even though the price changed, I could clearly see why it changed, I knew the new amount before they left the pickup location, and we detailed/documented every single item to support the cubic feet change. When delivered, I took the same list and personally checked off every item. A binding estimate is still an estimate, until it becomes final-and it doesn't become final until you're done packing.
Charlie and Eddie were exceptional in the load and unload. I was disappointed that only two hours into their trip, the truck broke down and the repair cost a day. But it worked out for the best in the long run for us, and they ended up delivering the day I originally contracted for. They worked long hours to complete the task at hand, and we appreciated the phone calls Eddie made to keep us updated along the way. This experience could have gone wrong in so many ways, and I played those all out in my worrisome mind. Reality is, you hand your prized treasures off to strangers, and no matter what insurance you have-it is still all up to chance. All American worked with us and for us. No damage. No shortage. Good people who did their job, and the job went well. Yes, we would choose them again.

My experience with All American moving exceeded my expectations in a moving company. They were very friendly and accommodating. Not only did they give me a great price, but everything was done with such care, All of our things were delivered to us on time. I can’t say enough about how well things went from start to finish. the staff was very professional,Everything was well organized adding to the comfort of going with a company that I have not had experience with. Great service!

They moved me from a one bedroom apartment in Weston to another one bedroom apartment downtown Fort Lauderdale. Overall great customer service and the movers were awesome! I'm very happy with how smoothly my move was and the movers were really careful with my furniture. The price was very fare and they even gave me wardrobe boxes for free. I recommend these guys to everyone!

Fort Lauderdale to Alabama Review.

This was the most wonderful group of movers, we moved extremely high end, marble and glass. A baby grand piano and extremely expensive artwork. They were professional, detail orientated and would not do anything unless it was complete and correct. They crated items on site and gave us all the personal touches to make a move stress free. I highly recommend them, and in our next move we would request them without hesitation. the Mirray -Langley Families.
