Long-distance move from Encinitas, CA to Seattle, WA

SCAM!

THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM. US Pro Moving & Logistics refused to fulfill the terms of our moving contract and refused to refund our money. On 11/8/2020 we made an advance payment of $1,033.00 (of a total estimate of $2,686.12) to move 2,002 lbs of furniture. US Pro sent a subcontractor who arrived a day later than scheduled and demanded more than double the estimate to move said furniture, only after loading furniture on the truck. I refused to pay extra because it was evident there was ample space and offered to measure the space taken to prove that our items fit within the terms of the contract. I was told that if I were to step foot into truck, the items would not be moved. We thus refused to pay and our furniture was unloaded. US Pro systematically stymied our attempts to find and schedule a new truck that would move the furniture. It deflected our questions about their refund policy, dropped our calls during business hours after being placed on hold for over 100 minutes, as well as played “after business hour” recordings during business hours. It made little attempt to try to find us a mover who would agree to move our furniture for something remotely close to the agreed upon price. It never even sent us another truck. It stopped returning our phone calls, and thus it never moved our furniture. We have meticulously documented all our good faith attempts to reach out. We had to hire different movers, since we were unable to reach US Pro and never received a refund.

Never showed

Do not use them. They are a scam company. I signed up in Dec of 2020 for a June move and they called for a Q&A then changed the price from my original quote. I asked for a refund since they were not honoring the original quote they stated I would not get the refund unless I signed a new quote. The sale person was Steve. Then 2 days later they never showed. I had a two day window from what they said which is bad as well. I should have never signed up or put a deposit down. Big time scam company.

Moving across country (Wa to Va) Piss Poor Customer Service

6.21.2021: I called back in Feb 2021 got a quote, made a reservation for a June 21st pick up date. Made a deposit ($1,064) & thought everything was all set, ready to go. Well today is June 21st, have not received a call from the movers & I've been on hold 2X this morning trying to talk to a live human being (almost 4 hrs) but can't get thru to anyone. I need to b out of here asap because I start my new job next week!! They claim to be a "Veteran Owned" company. .....well this is a piss poor way to treat a Veteran.

I will never use this company again!!! ?????

The "salesman" I spoke with (Guy Fisher) even gave me his direct phone number & I can't even get anyone to answer that line!!

Long-distance move from Fullerton, CA to Magnolia, TX

Changed pricing illegally and refused refund

I had scheduled a move from California to Texas for 260 square feet of items. I coordinated everything over the phone. Initially they wanted to charge for 287 sq ft. I agreed knowing it was less. The subcontractor came to the apartment unit were disrespectful to the apartment manager and called me claiming the amount of sq ft was over 400. I informed them that was completely untrue at which the subcontractor tried charging me for multiple different things including using an elevator which was included per the contract. Seeing that I would not pay for fabricated items, they refused to do the move and left the apartment complex telling me to hire someone else. I tried repeatedly to get my money back but the company kept claiming that I declined on-site (I was in a completely different state) that it was the over 400 sq feet ( I have documented proof it was under 287), and that I sent them away which I did not.

No movers or refund

I contacted the company for a move from FL to NJ. I was told a truck driver was going to call me to let me know when they were going to come. It’s a 2 day window. By the end of the 2nd day no one called me. On the 3rd day, I called and was told that there weren’t actually any truck drivers/movers available in my location. No one thought to call me or inform me of this even though I called representatives atleast 4 times during the 2 day window period. After wards, I was promised a refund of my deposit. It has been over 3 weeks and I have yet to receive a refund. I have emailed and called the company and they claim that it may take my bank longer to process the refund, however I’ve never had this problem with my bank before.

HORRIBLE

This company is a total scam. Any positive reviews here or on BBB are submitted by the company. They spend more time responding to complaints on BBB than running their business. I'd give zero stars if possible. Without boring you with the details, we were extorted $1600 to have our items unloaded and then most were damaged, if not missing.

Long-distance move from Sierra Vista, AZ to Savage, MN

4 weeks and still no delivery

Our experience with this company has been horrible. First, they would not allow us to add additional space to our estimate without a call with their QA team - and they wouldn't schedule this call more than 1 week out from the move - at which time we'd be stuck with them. Then, when the movers arrived, the person in charge walked in, took a look around and immediately told us we needed additional space and would be charged another $1000. I knew better, as I've moved several times and understand the amount of space we needed. So I challenged him on this and asked that he explain why we would need that much more space and what exactly was different from what they originally estimated. He would not explain anything and said I would need to talk to his supervisor. I asked him several times to explain and he continued to refuse or to look even look at me. So I called up our US Pro Moving Coordinator (Kevin), and explained I had an issue with our US Pro move that was taking place. Kevin told me I'm sorry you have the wrong company, this is not US Pro Moving. I said, well that concerns me as well becauseI have your email right here and your email address and signature say US Moving Pros. He then asked what the problem was and I explained the situation. He put me on hold while he looked up the account. A few minutes later someone else got on the phone and identified herself as the supervisor. I explained the situation to her, and she asked to speak to the site lead (the movers). They explained to her that a few pieces were larger than they expected, so when I got back on the phone with her again I asked her to explain to me and tell me what size items they had expected. When she did, the dimensions of my items were smaller than he told her they were! I expressed my extreme displeasure and unbelief that they were trying to deceive us and get more money that was not deserved or needed for space that was not needed. She then went on to say that we would be receiving a refund for the difference but that we would need to pay it to the movers for now. I agreed, as long as she'd send an email and the money would be credited to our account right away. She said it would be within 1 business day. Well, it is 4 weeks later and we still have not received the refund. BUT EVEN WORSE - OUR GOODS HAVE NOT BEEN DELIVERED. We've called several times and assured us it is on the way, but we are well beyond the normal time frame on this move and are worried at this point that our belongings are gone. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Complete scam.

DONT DO IT!

The original quote was for $3,000 with a $900 deposit. They called 5 days before the moving date to tell us that we needed to pay $600 more, bringing the total deposit to $1,500. The night before moving day the driver calls us to tell us the truck broke down. We called customer support with no answer. We had to hire another company last minute. Our attempts to contact someone to get a refund have been stressful. If we do get ahold of someone, which is rare cuz most of the time they hang up on us while on hold, they tell us that it will take months to get our money back. Phone lines are 50 mins long just to get disconnected. Please I urge you to find another company. If you are looking for movers in the PNW Jordan River was able to accommodate us at a reasonable price and last minute.

The never moved a stitch of my furniture because they were late getting there. Was scheduled from 12-4, got there at 7p and after getting there they wanted to add another $1300. I already paid $1024, then $750 and once they arrive $1400 and when they get to the destination another $1400. WTH!! almost $6k. Not sure about the tiny boxes they were counting and the square footage calculation. Still waiting on a response from them as of today.

BEWARE OF THIS FRAUDULENT COMPANY

[FRAUD ALERT] US Pro Moving and Logisitics is a fraudulent company. These guys are brokers, NOT a moving company. I called US Pro Moving and Logistics for a moving estimate and Liz Parker gave me an estimate. She asked me about ALL of the furniture I am moving so I told her, she listed each piece in the contract, listed the estimated volume my furniture will take up in the movers' truck as 626 cubic feet, and quoted me a price. She took an advance deposit from me in the amount of $1077 on the same day to make the reservation. However, on moving day, when the moving company arrived, they said that the EXACT SAME FURNITURE that Liz Parker had mentioned in the contract will take up at least 1200 cubic feet of space, and they said I need to pay AT LEAST $2500 to $3000 IN ADDITION to the total balance on the invoice. I told them that this is the mistake of US Pro Moving and Logistics and the movers agreed with me. I told them that my furniture should be moved for the original price that I was quoted because it is not my mistake. They refused to provide me service so I didn't move with them. When I called US Pro Moving and Logistics to get my deposit back since it is the mistake of Liz Parker, they were extremely rude to me and REFUSED TO REFUND MY DEPOSIT OF $1077. I not only lost money, but also had to endure a lot of stress on top of the moving stress that I already had. Trust me! Do NOT give US Pro Moving and Logistics your business. You will regret it!!!! If you read other reviews, you will realize that this company has done the same thing to other customers too. YOU MIGHT BE THE NEXT ONE ON THEIR LIST! Give your business to another company. Again, THIS COMPANY IS FRAUDULENT!!!

SCAM!!! BEWARE OF THIS SERVICE

I engaged this company in April for a move across the Country in late June. The quote based off inventory was estimated $4,012. We laid down a $1300 deposit. The company contacted us June 20th to confirm inventory of the move which we added a few minor additional items. The quote came back at $28,000.00!!!!!! The used car salesman on the line insisted 2x26ft trucks needed to be used for this haul and we had 20 minutes to lay down over $12,000.00 to reserve the move. Thank God we had another moving company that was able to step in the same day and assessed our moving needs based on the walk though of our house and my mother-in-laws house that only 1 truck was needed based on our combined inventory and said worse case might need a trailer in addition for $14,000 - HUGE difference in cost to the same location! I asked for our deposit back and the salesman claimed the deposit is used for admin fees ( admins must be paid well there) and to reserve trucks which is strange considering they had no clue how many trucks would be required much less know our final destination. US Moving Pro is a SCAM!!! They do this intentionally knowing the odds of securing another moving service within days of your move is impossible unless you are extremely lucky like we fortunately were. The majority however will have a gun to their head and forced to pay whatever ransom these thieves are demanding. I am going to all social media outlets including Linked In, Facebook and my entire network of professional that I am connected to warn everyone. I should be grateful we only lost $1300 to these slimes as it could have been much worse, however $1300 in the middle of relocating your entire family is a lot of money. Don't bother trying to reach anyone. They have their phones set up for over a 2 hour wait on hold. You were warned if you hire this service.

Horrible experience

Worst experience of my life. My wife and I moved from WA to FL and a Penske rental truck came and picked up our stuff a day late, asked for $3,000 more to move our stuff and we had to say yes because we had to be out of our house. They got to FL and all of our furniture was destroyed, the owner of the company and I got in an argument because he starts new moving companies then stops and gets a new license and does it over and over to scam people. He never put any of our Funtiture together like we were promised, just threw everything in the garage and left and hit me with his truck. And US pro hired this company without doing any research on them . I’ve been waiting for 3 months to talks to someone in upper management and they don’t want to talk to me.

Do not even consider this company

We used US Pro to connect us with a terrible moving carrier for a move from Utah to Florida in Dec 2020. There isn't too much I can add to the reviews on here already. Long story short, after over 6 months of calling over and over (and over) and constantly being told there was no delivery update, our stuff finally turned up in a storage unit in Denver, and they refused to help us recoup the cost of renting a truck and moving it ourselves from the moving company. On top of that, we paid about 2/3 of our quoted price for the 2500 mile move. They moved it about 500, dumped it in a storage unit for 6 months, and made us go get it. There is also no way for us to get any kind of refund for them not fulfilling their contract (either US Pro or the carrier).

Luckily we are a young couple without a high value load, so we learned a valuable lesson when it was a lot cheaper than it could have been if it happened 10 years later. Do not use a broker. Do some research on your company and how to pick a mover. And whatever you do, do NOT use US Pro.

Not good to work with!

My elderly mother has been waiting months for her furniture. No one will give details when you can get them to answer the phone. The actual trucking company talks in circles. Her furniture is no where close to where she lives nor the area she was told it would be stored in. US Pro Movers keeps saying they can’t make the trucking company deliver it. It’s been over 30 working days since she requested it a second time! We’ve spent countess hours in the phone. In fact today started out as caller 4 two hours later as caller we got hung up on!! Total scamers

Don’t fall for It – they are a total scam

Do not use/contract these companies, if you do chances are you will also get ripped off and have your belongings stolen or destroyed either thru ineptness or intentional wrongdoing. After all is said and done your helpless and they take your money and your belongings.

US Moving Pro Moving and Logistics – US Dot 3372590/MC 1081435 – Moving brokers Broker based in FL. They are not movers they take your money then broker your move to third parties that are not BBB accredited.

American Home Relocation - US Dot 3059623 / ICCMC 54420 – alleged mover based in Carol Stream IL. They take more of your money, then destroy and steal your belongings.

Short version: Overcharges, they suck you in with low ball estimates, then jack you around and don’t deliver your belongings for a month and a half (was told 3-5 days). When finally delivered thousands of dollars of our belonging were missing/stolen or stolen.

We were violated by false verbal promises and then mistreated, lied to and ignored thru every step of the process. We have worked very hard to obtain and maintain quality belongings. The purpose of moving was to move into our retirement home. The purpose of hiring (alleged) professional movers was to avoid lost/damaged items. It is very clear that the initial estimate was low balled in order to get us to sign a contract, the final price somehow more than doubled from the first estimate to review of the belongings to when after our belongings were loaded onto a truck and were no longer in our possession. From reading/researching the internet this a common tactic of shifty movers/brokers. Once they have your belongings your ability to deal with the issue is nonexistent, either pay or they refuse to deliver your belongings, (if they actually deliver your belongings). In this case when they finally delivered. The missing and damaged items is beyond our ability to perceive, seems once they get that first payment they pretty much can (and do) whatever they please, makes me wonder how any company can be so inept, if it’s even possible. Realistically it has to be intentional fraud/misconduct/negligence, there is no other rational explanation.

Again don’t fall for it, if you use a mover, contract via a mover not an alleged broker whose sole purpose is to take your money for their commissions. A real mover will send a live body to your home and provide a binding estimate. The broker contracts are non-binding, which basically gives them the ability to take and hold your belongings, jack up the price, refuse delivery and hold you hostage. Then they claim no liability, when your belongings are stolen and damaged. Win/win for them, lose/lose for you.

Deceptive and Unprofessional

My review will mirror a lot of the reviews left here.

I found this moving company through google and foolishly did not look up their reviews. When I talked to him (Steven Berch), he originally quoted me 1800 and had me pay 800 up front. Now I knew that this number would likely go up as in the process of packing, we had more in our inventory than expected. However, the week before we adjusted the price for the amount of items added and that required 300 more. Fine. Then on the day of move we were charged 1800, 800 more than we planned for, the reasons of which are ridiculous because nothing changed or was added from the adjusted price that was given to me just 5 days prior.

Then after that we were guaranteed a delivery on either July 2nd or July 3rd. At that time I asked him (StevenBerch) if that was possible since it is the holiday weekend but he assured me that my items will be shipped by the third. Now I’ve been doing all the contacting despite them promising that THEY would call ME. I contacted them yesterday to ascertain the status of my delivery and verify that it would come on time and now an employee by the name of Michael told me they are not doing any deliveries until after the 4th. After a very unprofessional back and forth during which this employee yelled at me, I asked to speak to a manager and Michael promptly hung up on me after 3-4 seconds of silence over the phone.

Now I’m sitting in my apartment on Saturday, July 3rd, knowing that my items are probably not coming today. The worst part is that I will be away from the 5th to the early 7th and then out of the states from July 8th to the 14th, so I don’t know when they plan on delivering my items.

For me the worse part is not the timing because, yes, things happen. It is the lack of communication on their part, fraudulent inflation of charges and the rude staff once you do call them.

I don’t know if those positive reviews are real or what but if you’re a real person, who wanted real, professional service, THIS IS NOT THE ONE. Please find service somewhere else. You’ll thank me later.

I was told that my items were still in CA and it will take a month to deliver bacused they did not have a storage unit in Florida; this is not what John/Richard King told me. Two days later a lady called me that my items will be delivered in two days and I have to have the rest of the payment ready and I said yes. This is were calls started coming demanding payment and I assured her that I will pay the driver when they deliver the item. Calls kept coming and she accused me of being rude and that she will have my items deliverd in a storage and I will be responsible to payments. Harrasement went and on and this frastarted me. I paid the driver immediately they arrived. They could not put together my dining table because the screws were missing, and laterI discovered that the legs that were delivered were wrong /small coud not fit my dinign room table ,legs to my dresser were missing, broken picture frame, the list goes on and on. Called the deliverey company and they told me that they were not responsible, I have to call the company that I hired. Confused!!! asked for the number , told me to find it on the agreement. Made calls that you have to wait for about an hour and got hang up or no one picks up the call. emailed every email I could find for the company with no response. Nightmare!!!. I can go on and on but all I want is the company staff to call or email me and give answer to my items that are broken, missing or wrong. They are leaving me with no option. I do not write reviews but for this I have to becasue I am so frastrauted. Please call or email me. search you email for things that were delivered in Brandon Florida June 9th. I ahve emailed the company/called no response. Richard King gave this picture that I was hiring a good responsible company but it was a lie and nightmare. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

HUGE SCAM AND RIPOFF.

When I first contacted this company the sales representative I talked to told us our move would be really easy and quick for us. We got our quote and the sales rep stated “based off the distance your items should be delivered within 5 days of pickup.” Once we got closer to our move date we did the call where we tell them everything we have and they document it for a 2nd time to give us an accurate quote. At the end of the call the sales rep again assured us “your items should be delivered within 6days from pickup, but legally we have to tell you 5-14 days.” My husband and I felt like he was honest and we were working with honest people. Turns out he was just trying to lock us into the contract whispering sweet nothings into our ear. So we move across the country with our 2 kids. Once we arrived it had already been 6 days since the pickup date. We called trying to figure out what was going on and we were told “no, we never told you it would be delivered within 6 days. It’s 6-18 days from first available DROP OFF date. Your items are sitting in a storage shed and we are now looking for a company to pick your stuff up and drive it to you.” HUH? I was never once told that my items were going to be sitting in a shed. They dismissed all of my claims that I have been given false information. So my two kids and I have been sleeping on the ground in our new home with NO belongings. Everyone I’ve spoken to from this company has acted like I knew what was going on this entire time. I WOULD NOT HAVE GONE WITH YOUR COMPANY IF I THOUGHT MY CHILDREN WOULD BE SLEEPING ON THE FLOOR FOR NEARLY TWO WEEKS.

This company is a scam, the sales reps will tell you what you want to hear to make a sale. Nobody cares about customer satisfaction once they make that initial sale. They will lie to you, scam you, and then make you feel crazy after they already have your money. Horrible company and horrible people.

Long Distance Move

I feel I need to warn potential customers about this company. The company gave me a low estimate based on the fact that we boxed or crated all the items we were shipping. The "movers" showed up late, were rude and attempted to tell me how much they were going to add to my bill for a "tip". Had I had another option at that point, I would have told them to leave. They charged me an additional $150.00 for a "wooden crate" that was "required" to move my stone top patio set. It arrived TWO and ONE HALF MONTHS later, damaged by the guys they sent to deliver my items, the way I had packed it, no crate. Every box had rodent urine and feces in them and several of my shoes, eaten by some rodent. The mattress and box spring arrived with the same evidence of rodent activity as well as being ripped, torn and beyond filthy. Once this company "sells" you their services, they are not helpful at all and in fact lied to me on several occasions. As did the vender this company hired to move my items. This company seems to feel that despite being the broker who hires these sub-contractors, they have zero responsibility for the end results.

The actual cost was three times the original estimate! Trying to put a claim in has been a nightmare and this company has been no help.

I usually try to write only positive reviews for those companies that still demonstrate pride in their performance/services but in this case, I felt I really needed to warn other consumers. This company is not BBB approved for obvious reasons even as they claim to be. My items were held for over two months and I feel very fortunate, I had made other arrangements and was not sleeping on the floor of an empty house, some others may not be as lucky.

This whole experience has been one long nightmare and I warn you, find a company who actually does the moving, the cost is so much less in the long run.
