Long-distance move from Salem, OR to Springfield, IL

SCAM - Don’t hire this company

I needed 4 pieces of furniture and 8 boxes moved from Oregon to Illinois on short notice due to an estate situation. On the morning of Thursday Dec 17 I filled out an online request for estimates. A few minutes later Joey Rizzo from US Pro Moving & Logistics called. I explained the circumstances and made it very clear to Joey that pick-up had to be no later than Saturday Dec 19. He indicated they had a truck already in the area and they could arrange for pick up that same day or the next. After a little back-and-forth we agreed on a price of $2380. While still on the phone Joey emailed a contract link to me, then had me quickly scroll through and click on the right spots to complete the agreement. Joey said an up-front deposit of $1003 was required immediately via ACH, then the driver would collect half of the remaining balance upon pick-up and the final payment would be due upon delivery. So I gave Joey my bank routing number and my checking account number for the ACH deposit payment and concluded the call. A few minutes later someone from US Pro Moving &Logistics customer service called to confirm the details. I was told the driver would call me sometime between 3pm - 8pm to let me know what time he would arrive for the pick-up. That call never came and no truck ever showed up. I called customer service on the afternoon of Friday Dec 18. After an interminable wait, a guy finally came on the line. I politely explained my concerns about no one calling or showing up and explained the urgency of the situation. The guy was rude and said there was nothing he could do other than note I had called. When I asked about cancelling he told me the $1003 deposit was non-refundable. So I hung up and continued waiting for a truck to arrive. When nobody showed up on Saturday I started searching on line for more information about US Pro Moving & Logistics. I discovered a ton of complaints were registered against this company with the Better Business Bureau by other customers who had been scammed out of their deposits. Fortunately, as of early Monday morning Dec 21, the $1003 ACH transaction still hadn’t posted to my checking account so I called my bank branch manager, explained I had been scammed by US Pro Moving & Logistics and asked for my checking account to be frozen. The bank manager was incredibly helpful. Just minutes after my phone conversation with her the $1003 ACH transaction came in and she was able to deny payment. I made arrangements for storage of my furniture and boxes then flew back home to Illinois. I plan to rent a UHaul truck next spring and move the stuff myself. At the bank’s recommendation I closed that checking account and transferred my money into a different account to ensure US Pro Moving & Logistics never gets a penny from me. Curses on the crooks at US Pro and blessings on the wonderful folks at United Community Bank!

Completely scammed

Long story short. I left the information and the company charged me almost 1K as a "deposit". Right after I gave the authorization they disappeared - time was ticking and no one called me to schedjokule the move, the phones were not responding, the emails didn't go answered. I don't know if this is a scam or just complete disregard for clients but long story short - i had to report fraud on my bank account to get money back and then had to move things myself which caused me to leave a lot of things. This company is ajoke.Youhavebeenwarned.

This is a great moving company

They were very kind and respectful. They were on time and did a great job. I had moved before and used some other company and was very dissatisfied cause they were late and broke my fridge and my tables. These guys were very professional and courteous and they were cheaper than the other companies I had called. I strongly recommend this company to anyone is considering moving. I will for sure use these guys in the future as soon as I decide to move.

They hustled the whole time

My move was scheduled for 10 am, and they showed up punctually at my door at 9:55 am and began moving my boxes and small furniture around 10:05 am after a walk around. Everything went very smoothly, and both movers were super friendly, professional, and easy to work with! I was moving from one small bedroom to another, and all my items were all in my new place by 12:30 pm! I definitely would use US Pro Moving and Logistics in the future and would recommend their services for anyone looking for a relatively stress-free and easy moving experience.

Would use them again

This is by far the best moving company I've dealt with. They were prompt, courteous, clean, considerate, and made the whole day go as smoothly as possible. Our movers, Michael and Ron, worked incredibly hard and treated my belongings with care. They respected my time and made every effort to go above and beyond great customer service. Next time I need to move I will definitely call US Pro Moving and Logistics without hesitation!

Nightmare move from CT to FL

I hired Pro Movers in January 2021 for a move from CT to Fl on 2/26/21. I signed an online contract and gave them a deposit. As an inexperienced mover I completely missed the part of their actually not being the movers but brokers. The company Reliable Movers out of Fort Lee, NJ turned out to be a nightmare. My inventory was delivered to Fl on 3/7 with a broken table and two missing items, a secretary desk and a Lane hope chest. The desk was found in their warehouse in NJ, the hope chest turned up in Texas where it sat in a warehouse for 3 months. By the time I received both items on 6/8 they were destroyed beyond repair.

I was told by Pro Movers that my furniture was covered 100% but according to Reliable Movers I am covered for $.60 a lb. As of today, 8/6, there is no solution to this issue. The hope chest is from 1965 and not replaceable and neither is the desk. My complaint is the dishonesty from both companies but most of all from Pro Movers as they took $1000 from me in down payment and never informed me that they were not my movers. The move actually cost me twice what I was quoted even after their cut.

As a senior living on a fixed income, this was not the way I wanted to start my retirement. I down sized before moving to take the stress and cost down which wasn't the case. The anxiety these two companies caused me, well you can't put a price tag on that.

Caveat emptor. Never, ever use these 2 agencies.

Long Distance Move

I used US Pro Logistics for a long distance move from California to Texas. I have never seen a company so mismanaged. I cannot get a hold of them through any of their numbers. I have called multiple times, always early in their business hours, every time there would be 8-11 callers ahead of me, I would wait on hold until it was my turn only to hear "you have reached us after hours" after an hour and 45 minutes of waiting to speak to someone!! They have had our household items for over 20 days with absolutely no communication in regards to when we'll see our stuff again. I highly doubt at this point we will see our stuff again.

Scam

After reading the 5 star reviews you can pick out all the fake information! They never mention the moving company actually contracted through US PRO, and US Pro is a broker! They are not BBB accredited, and all the companies they hire are not BBB accredited! Paid $31,000 to move and had $46,000 in damaged/destroyed or missing/stolen items from the company they hired! Stay away! Once your stuff is delivered and you complain they will not answer emails or phone calls!

Scammy Tricksters

I was contacted by an agent who offered me all sorts of discounts, but they were only available if I committed that day with a large down-payment - she promised it was fully refundable if I had to cancel within 5 days. She sounded so friendly and helpful. At that point I knew next to nothing about moving companies or brokers or what to watch out for, and bought into the "great deal" I had found.

When I later had more questions for her she was rude and snarky and completely unhelpful, attempting to make me wait past the 5 days for any help in order to hold me hostage to using their services. I was trying to add all the things to the inventory that I had forgotten the night before, in order to get an accurate quote, which would have been way more than the original quote. They wanted to wait to do that until the week before the move - too late to cancel with a refund or find anther moving company to use - and then upcharge me for everything I didn't remember to put in the inventory, as I wasn't home at the time to see it.

I got all sorts of scammy vibes and red flags and cancelled within the time frame (early November) and have yet to see a refund (early Feb) that was promised within 30 days (already ridiculously long to wait for a refund).

BEWARE, Do not use this company for your moving services. I have been working with them to safely move my elderly, immune comprised mother and we have had nothing but trouble from pickup. We still have not received our delivery going on 6 weeks tomorrow. They tried to overcharge my mother by $500 and we are having to take legal action. Unethical

I was given 5 days to change my mind if I found a better moving option. I did, and canceled within 3 days. I was told my e-check would go through at 5 days. It went through right after I canceled. I called and was initially told the refund takes 2 weeks, I called again and told 1 month. So the salesman and both receptionists all had conflicting and incorrect information. NEVER give them bank info.

Long-distance move from Thousand Oaks, CA to Tampa, FL

Miserable Moving Company

Absolutely, Positively DO NOT use this company EVER!! You would actually be better off BURNING your belongings or GIVING them away!! In Aug I did a cross country move from CA to FL using the 30 day storage. While setting up move, I was VERY clear about the items I had, how they broke down (entertainment center is 6pcs) and number of boxes I had. I gave dimensions of each piece of furnitureforaccuracy. US Pro talked a lot about cb sq ft and a little about number of articles. BE SURE THEY COUNT EACH ITEM!! When movers arrived, they said that I was within my allotted space, but there would be an additional $1200 charge for having 9 extra articles. When I looked at the information the were using, US Pro did not document my articles correctly. The ent ctr was written up as 1 pc, and my King sized bedroom set was also incorrected listed. I tried to call US Pro with the movers in my home, but after holding for 25mins the movers said they would have to take my stuff off the truck and charge me!! 7 of the 9 extra articles were documentation errors on the part of this company (5pc for ent ctr, 2 for bedroom set---I told them my King bed had 2 twin box springs, they listed it as 1. And, although they are the "experts" in the field, they failed to list rails/slats for the bed. I called for assistance at least 15x and NEVER received a return phone call. I asked that they pull the verification tapes to Listen to me explain how my furniture was by piece. They never did. I disputed charges with my credit card company (be sure you print out your contract; once your stuff is picked up, you will be unable to access it and they will not send you a copy.) but it was denied because you have to sign that you are charged by article number and weight. The movers they put me with (Cheetah Movers dba White Gold Movers) took longer than the 30 business days to deliver, lost 2 boxes and broke my dresser and looked like they dragged my bedroom set across a gravel parking lot. I will be rating them negatively as well as soon as my claim is complete. Do yourself a favor: Move your own things if they are important to you or GIVE THEM AWAY. Do Not give these people your hard earned money. It will only cost you thousands ($3800 for 450cb sq ft) and MUCH aggravation, frustration and anxiety. NOT WORTH IT!!

Trash Service

They have the nerve to say they are a US veteran ran company and have veterans come to the house to help disassemble and assemble the furniture. The people who moved my furniture barely spoke English and told me they were never in the US military. I guess they are veterans in their own country. They also underestimated the amount of belongings I had in my home so had to turn this into a two day job and charged me even more money! Somehow a 4K job turned into almost 3x that amount. Then I find out today, they misplaced screws for some of my furniture and I found a large scrape in my dining room table. My furniture has been around the world from having a military background and I have never experienced such terrible service from a company. I only hope and pray I have all of my belongings in my possession after this move. I will never recommend this company.

Long-distance move from Ashland, OR to Vancouver, WA

Bait and switch

I'll be blunt - I feel I was scammed by this company and lost my $1308 deposit as a result. Chronology: I had a local moving company (not US Pro Moving) come to my house and inspect and measure all that was to be moved. Based on an estimated weight of 4200 pounds, they quoted $2625. That seemed a bit high so I looked around and called US Pro Moving. Describing what I had over the phone their estimate was $1800, so I went with them. Four days before the move they called to verify the inventory. They had me measure almost every item - the new estimate was around $2900! Obviously with so little time left I felt I could do nothing but agree; to reduce the volume I borrowed a friend's turck and filled it plus my Subaru Forester with 2000 pounds of boxes hoping it would be less money in the end. On moving day, two guys from a 3rd party moving company arrived with a truck and after looking at what was left to take, informed me that because of "packing costs" (which aren't included in US Pro Moving estimates) the actual cost would be $4900!!!!! That's $2000 above the already inflated estimate! I was furious.

I simply didn't have that kind of money and told them that I couldn't go higher than $3200. I talked to their supervisor and tried to get in touch with US Pro Moving to get help, but they didn't pick up their phone for over an hour. After half an hour the moving company had come down to $4600. A half-hour later still, they were at $4200 but I was still at $3200. Somewhat panicked that I wasn't going to be able to move, I called the original moving company to see if they could still do the job on super short notice - I literally had 48 hours to get out. Amazingly, they could, and they would still honor their original $2625 price! Just after I got off the phone with them (now two hours after the scammy movers had arrived) I was told that they would agree to $3200! Even though I was already $1308 "in" based on my non-refundable deposit, I knew I was being scammed and I was not going to reward these guys with a job nor trust them to move my stuff. When I fired them, they seemed kind of shocked. Good riddance.

The local Medford, Oregon weight-based moving company showed up just a few hours later and determined that since I had loaded much of the boxes myself in my vehicles that the weight was now considerably less - they cut their price 25%. They did a superb job and earned that 25% back in a tip.

US Pro Moving hid deep in their contract language that packing costs weren't included (they were included with the local company) and then showed up and grossly inflated the price. Obviously they are trying to keep my $1308 deposit - we'll see what small claims court has to say about that. Stay far far away from these scammers. The worst.

Move

US pro movers is a very unethical operation. Very obscure in their business contracts and took 2500$ and did not apply it towards our move. Customer service is poor and they will not help you work through questions or explain where the money was credited towards cost of the move. They subcontract with very shady contractors and take no responsibility for that business practice. Over all US pro movers quoted us roughly a 4800 move and it ended up costing us about 9500$.

I URGE YOU To CHOOSE ANY OTHER MOVING COMPANY - They are frauds

TLDR: They will make you feel comfortable, lie to you, steal your deposit money and refuse to give it back. They were a no show. Movers never came, never even contacted me. When I asked for a refund, they claim accountability for nothing, and will not refund my money for services that they never provided.

--

Everything about the process with Moving Pros has felt like a scam and the fact that they will not refund my money after not showing up or communicating anything to me feels like pretty hard evidence of that.

I signed up with Moving Pros in a rush after other movers cancelled on me. Moving Pros sales people are great at their jobs. They make you feel like they will take care of you and feel comfortable.

Red Flag 1 - They would not let me end the phone call. I had to check with my neighbor to see if they cold help with the move. James from Moving Pros said for us to proceed, they need to be put on hold not a new call.

Red Flag 2 - Pressured into the Bank transfer 50% deposit. They only accept bank transfers, not credit card like most reputable businesses. They will cash your virtual check as soon as they can. They do not wait for services to be rendered. This eliminates any opportunity for a bank dispute since they have your signed over cash.

Red Flag 3 - I was assured by James from Moving Pros that I would receive a call the day before the truck would arrive to coordinate timing. I never received that call. My scheduled slot with them was a 4 day period, Tues-Fri. I called them Thursday afternoon because I had not received any word.

Red Flag 4 - Excuses and false assurances. On that phone call I was told the driver would actually be calling me within the hour and to call back if I don’t hear from them. Didn’t hear anything so I called back again. This continued over 5 conversations with Moving Pros Customer Support. Each time they gave me an excuse “they are on a delivery and will be calling you after”, “the truck is actually in the repair shop”.

Red Flag 5 - It’s very easy for them to claim ignorance. Every bit of communication goes through “Dispatch”. They only have the limited information that Dispatch tells them. I asked for the drivers number and they wouldn’t provide that to me.

Red Flag 6 - Customer Service takes the nights and weekends off so you’re completely out of luck if you need something off hours.

At no point did I receive any communication from Moving Pros that I didn’t initiate. I hounded them for information for 3 days only to be fed BS from their customer service. The drivers never showed and they claim to have reports that their driver tried calling me and texting me. I never got anything and I was watching my phone like a hawk because you know, all my possessions are dependent on this move happening.

I sent Moving Pros phone logs as proof. They are apparently trying to verify from their drivers, their phone logs. It’s all a ruse. They take your money and since they have it, they make stuff up like that to keep from refunding you. None of their story lines up. At no point over my 5 conversations spanning 3 days with their customer service did they mention the driver having an issue reaching me.

They are scammers and I can only imagine they outsourced positive reviews to get their score up, which is incredibly cheap and easy to do.

Everything

In my opinion I’ve never seen such a company with reportedly great reviews act so unprofessional. I had scheduled a move for a W-Th pickup, and upon that Thursday night I had received no contact where the movers were or that there would be delays. I had to contact them through their emergency TEXT ONLY line because they’re on the east coast and I was on the west. They close down at 5 pm in their time zone so I had to make sure if I wanted to TALK to someone I had to call before 2 pm, which wasn’t exactly reasonable when my move was after that time. I had to contact them first through their text only line on Thursday evening just to get a time frame of that Friday morning. When that time came for the movers to show up, they didn’t, so again I had to contact them just to be told a later time that Friday. Again they didn’t contact me with an update when that time was up, so I contacted them again to be told it would be Saturday morning, and then Saturday evening. I was so irritates because I was on a time crunch to move that I had to cancel the reservation and do the whole move myself that Sunday morning since they never gave me another time. While I was picking up a U-Haul an hour outside of where I lived, I then get a call from their movers saying they were 15-20 min out. I had to send them back since I had already requested a refund and to cancel the move. I still have not received my refund almost a month later even though I had been in contact with them multiple times throughout the move and had a response that my refund was being processed. If I had a choice to go with them or get mauled by a cat, I’d rather get mauled. The fact they don’t have an after hours call line or give their customers contact information for their actual movers is extremely unprofessional. The only way I can see this company doing things appropriately is if you schedule your move AT LEAST a month in advance. Do not go to them if you are on a time crunch to move.

Rip off Do NOT use them

They owe us $1000 and have given us the run around for almost 4 months. They were super nice and promised such a good deal. We had 10 days to decide if we were going to use them and contacted them on the 6th day to let them know we had put off our move for awhile so we supposed to get our "deposit" back (we have it in writing) and the mans name was Guy. He acted like our best friend in the beginning and then won't respond. Too bad because we would have eventually moved with them and my daughter has a 7000 sq ft house that she is moving to Florida too and I would of recommended them. Inappropriate, unprofessional, condescending, and deceptive

THAT is what you are signing up for if you decide to work with US PRO movers. Not all the men in the company were like this, but it only takes ONE. AND, they get away with an obscene deposit ($3000!!!) for no services rendered. I don't have a lot of stuff, nor do I have big furniture - I was quoted a binding contract of $5500, and "quality assurance" changed my cost to $7200. I've already paid $3000, right, so they manipulate you to continue with them. Stuck btwn a rock and hard place. Now do I trust their word? NOPE. I am super frustrated I was essentially tricked and lied to and duped out of hard earned $3000 trying to move my family. $3000 is 2 months rent.
