A+ Moving Company.

What brought me to United American was the overall hype in the reviews, but I was actually blown away at how great my experience was moving with these guys! First of all, the movers are absolutely professional, were on time, and knew exactly what they were doing when they moved all the furniture out. The price I got over the phone was the same price I paid on my moving day. Highly recommended.

Horrible.

They don’t tell you up front they are a broker. Once I found this out I let them know how irritated I was. They do NOTHING for you. All they do is give your business to a real moving company. They lowball the estimate, and then more than double what they originally quoted you. Save yourself the time and aggravation. Find your own movers! I would give no stars if possible.

Smooth Move!!

I could not be happier with the service I received from United American Moving. Mya in customer service really helped me out with getting everything ready for my move. She was very patient with me when I did not understand how I should wrap my furniture to prevent damage during my move. The price was great and I will definitely use them again if I ever have to make this move again in the future!

Long-distance move from Houston, TX to Arlington, VA

Horrible Experience.

My experience started off great. A guy named Tyy handled everything at first (took my inventory, gave me an estimate, took down my desired delivery date, etc). As I get closer to the move date, they switch me to a guy named Jordan and this is where things started to tumble. We did another inventory walkthrough and I realized I left off some items (broom, mop, added 5 large boxes, small nightstand, and a vacuum cleaner). I originally told Tyy that I had a queen bed. Turns out, to them, that means only a mattress and does not include the box spring or frame so I had to add those items as well. That added another $1300 to my estimate. I didn’t think that sounded reasonable so Jordan suggests that I leave my items behind if I don’t want to pay for them. After some unpleasant back and forth, I agree to the price and pay another deposit. Jordan assures me that they should be able to move me on the first day of the December 22-23 window and that someone would be calling me on Saturday December 21 to confirm. On Saturday, After no one called me, I called them around 2pm. Customer service tells me that they won’t know until between 4-6pm when someone would be coming. This is less than 24hours before my scheduled move. 5:30pm comes around and no one has called me so I call again. They then tell me that no one can come until Monday December 23 between 9-11am. The driver calls me on Sunday and says that he cannot come until 2pm Monday December 23. On Monday, 2pm rolls around and there is no sign of the driver. I called him around 2:30 and he says that he is still an hour away. He did not arrive until 4pm. Then, he starts to tell me about all the additional fees. Those fees included: a $300 “long walk” fee because my apartment wasn’t close enough to the exit door, a $50 box for my tv, another $35 box for my other tv, 2 $75 glass crates for my mirrors, another $35 glass crate for my coffee table glass, 5 separate $30-40 charges for boxes for my pictures. I wouldn’t be so upset about this if they weren’t literally boxes from Home Depot that you can buy for no more than $10 each. My move ended up being more than double what I was originally quoted. Granted, a small portion is due to me leaving out a few items from inventory. But it doesn’t end there.. I told them I would be available for delivery on December 29 which was my move-in date. No one had contacted me between December 23 and 29 so I reached out again to see when I would have my things. The driver said he would not deliver until sometime between January 3-5 because he wanted to spend time with his family. Understandable. So after I spent a week in an empty apartment, I had to call again on the 4th because no one had contacted me about when my things would be delivered. The driver says he would be there on the 5th between 12-2. In true form, he didn’t show up until 4pm. Several of my boxes were completely smashed. Many of my kitchen glasses were broken. The screen on one of my tv’s was shattered. My wooden coffee table appears to somehow have water damage. My swiffer mop is broken. My broom is missing. I called both the driver AND United American (separate companies) on Monday Jan 6 so see about insurance/reimbursement of the items. The United American rep had no idea how to go about filing a claim and said she would call me the next day. The driver said he would call me back in 2 days. It is now January 13 and I have not heard anything from either of them. I strongly advise against using this company.

Fair quote and kind customer service.

Going with United American Moving was the best decision that I could have made. Esther from customer service kindly answered all my questions and concerns which left me with peace of mind. Long-distance move from Fremont, CA to Louisville, KY

Very Bad Experience - Got cheated.

This Mover is actually a broker in my case. Estimate given was very less (i gave all item in details for quote) and finally I end up paying very high amount (at least for me) to the actual mover came, which I was not planned at all. And I was in a last moment in leaving the state. I was not having any other go, than paying the actual mover asked money. I tried to contact United American Movers (Person who gave me quote and talking to me till the moving day morning), but the phone number was disabled, and tried to reach to the customer service, no one was picking the phone for long time, and finally they took the phone and told they cannot do anything, and I have to go with the actual Mover who came. And regarding the mover who came for pickup, only one guy came with small Bugdet Rental truck. And that guy took the whole day to move the things, and even damaged the items. And same happened while delivering. They damaged the items. And regarding the cost also, very high. I advice not to go with this Movers, just because they are offering very less quote. Even after I gave all my item details, United American told it will need only 197 Cu.Sq Ft, but the actual mover told it will need 900 Cu.Sq.Ft. Just assume the difference in estimation.

Awesome movers.

United did an excellent job with my move today from a storage unit to a townhouse in Spring Garden. Communication was consistent throughout the process and prices were competitive. They arrived at the storage unit exactly at the time promised. I had 2 guys for the move and they were very helpful, fast, and efficient- the whole move with contents for a 2 bed 1 bath place took 3.5 hours. I'm very happy with our moving experience and highly recommend United American Moving!

Work out great.

I was really worried after having to move in a short amount of time because of my expenses but my sales representative Paul assured me that it was a all inclusive quote and that they'll work out the best quote for my budget that made really made my day. I had originally planned on taking more boxes with me but I changed my mind so I called and spoke to customer service representative Mya and ask was it okay to take lesser boxes and she was very helpful and understanding with my situation so I wind up taking lesser boxes then we estimated and the price went down from the original quote of $3,500 to $1,200 I received my belongings within the window provided of 3-14 days. The delivery team did a great job as well these guys will always have my recommendation.

Focuses on the customer's needs.

I recently completed a move from California to New Mexico and when the time came to transport my belongings I reached out to United American. A member of their staff, Paul, was very patient with me and took the time to listen to my moving needs. They transported my things safely and everything made it to New Mexico in one piece. I would highly recommend UAM to anyone looking for a reliable moving company.

Worst Moving Experience Ever!

You wrote a review for United American Moving One minute ago

1.0 star rating4/2/2020

WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE EVER! Also, these are not movers, according to the Florida Attorney General's office, they are moving brokers. You're essentially paying them thousands to make a few phone calls and sell your under bid move to an actual mover. I'm basically echoing the same experience that Claire F. posted, as mine was identical.

I searched for movers online March 7, 2020. I went to a googled website, and you put in the number of bedrooms, and it generates a "quote". At the time a 3 bedroom house moving 120 miles away shows up as costing $1,300-$1,900. That's just a price to get you to call, because naturally it is too good to be true. You call the company, do a talk through of your household items, and then they quote you in the $7,000 range, which is obviously much more than the price they lured you in with. Then they play the "name your price" game. So, I gave them $5,200 based on other estimates I had for the same move. They were able to "apply a military discount", and some other "discounts" and gave me a quote for $5,216.40. Obviously a far stretch from the price they lured me in with online, but understandable. Then they set you up with a phone call for another walk through/talk through inventory. The first call, the kid calling "had an emergency with his girlfriend", so he rescheduled halfway through the day before the move. He calls back the day before the move, and does the walk through inventory. He talks my wife into adding more boxes to be on the safe side, and shockingly our estimate is now $2000 more. It was concerning, but I'm two days from my house being sold, so I am in a bind at this point. He tells my wife on the first phone call it would take most of a semi-truck, and it would be one day to pack and the next morning to load. The second time he called to finish the estimate, he tells her that it would be a whole truck, and one day to pack and load. That afternoon, I get a confirmation call stating the movers would show up between 9AM-1PM. Again, I expressed my concerns, which was I sold my house, and I had to be out by Thursday. They are assuring me everything is going to be perfect.

Worst move ever. So, the day of the move someone calls me around noon to tell me they will be at my house around 3:30PM with a 26ft truck. I was beside myself. No words can describe what was going through my mind. They arrive at my house 3 hours after the time promised, and they proceed to tell my wife that we would need to pay another $4,000 to move everything. Really..the day I have to be moved out of my house, they are telling me that I need to pay another $4,000 to make it happen? Talk about being between a rock and a hard place. I spend the next few hours hearing about how they quote..cu. ft., etc. It is a complete scam.

Bottom line, my wife and I detailed everything in my house, and they talked me into exaggerating my goods to avoid this exact situation. They moved about 75% of what they quoted. 147 pieces out of the 212 pieces on my listed inventory. Needless to say, I spent around $7,200 for a partial move, and after they packed almost everything, I spent the rest of the evening through to the next morning, so I can finish moving my household goods. No one answers their customer service. The only one that would answer was the guy who gave me the original quote. Then they played the "I am a supervisor" game and they are "going to take care of me" until they closed. Needless to say, I was left with a house full of stuff to move by myself.

After speaking with the Florida Attorney General, which is quite familiar with this company, I found out they are a moving broker that advertises as an actual mover. United American Moving subcontracted out my move to US Movers for $4,200, so essentially United American Movers took my inventory, and purposely underquoted the cu. ft., so they could sell the contract cheap, and pocket $3,000 for making a few phone calls.

United american moving is a scam.

United american moving is a scam. When we talked to a sale's person, he seemed very nice and gave a very low price quote to move. Then he was pushing us to sign a contract for 1/3 money deposit by promising that we could can cancel it anytime within 3 business days. We agreed and deposited $1,346 by e-check. In less than 12 hours, we called him again try to cancel it bc our home buyers backed away. But he and his manager didn't allow us to cancel it and refund our deposit. Now we're stacked and have to file a dispute with our bank and try to get our money back (hopefully). We so regret that we didn't do our home work before signing a contract and easily believe what a sale's person said. After we searched on wed, we found lots of people complained about the company a scam and warned DON'T do business with them to save the trouble. We wish we had seen the reviews before our call. It too late now. We hope our review can help other people not to get into the trouble we involved again!! Thank.

This moving company is a horror story! They give you a low quote & promise to deliver in 3-5 bus days. This company is a complete scam. If it sounds too good to be true, that's because they are lying to you! We cancelled having read horrible reviews and will now be getting our lawyers involved. Their quotes are fake. Save your time and money. Maya is extremely rude. United American Moving.

I selected United American Moving as broker because they had a truck in the area and could give me a good price. The following day I called United to find out who the carrier was and was told it had not been assigned. Two days later they selected CR 7 Moving and Storage as carrier. When CR 7 arrived their first order of business was to initiate a new estimate ignoring the previous estimate from United. A speaker phone call with United customer service revealed their estimate of 286 cf was generated by a computer program and ignored the detailed inventory with dimensions of each item furnished by myself. CR 7 was estimating 450cf after checking the items. A heated discussion followed between myself and the United representative when she suggested I had two choices. First, take as much of the load as 286cf would provide or pay the extra as a bulky item charge. Neither the CR 7 foreman on site or the United representative had any knowledge of the detailed inventory furnished the United sales agent.

To their credit the CR 7 personnel behaved like gentlemen while caught in the middle of the exchange between myself and the United agent. After hanging up on United the foreman and I agreed on a new total and the loading proceeded which was done en a very efficient and thorough manner. It appears United produced a low ball estimate to generate a broker fee with our regard to the impact on the carrier or customer.

I asked the foreman if the load would stay on the same truck for delivery and three times he replied yes. Two days after the departure from my house I called the CR 7 office and was told the load was off loaded at the ware house and a truck for Michigan would be scheduled later in the week. Six days later, on a Sunday, the load arrived with damage in Michigan.

Both of these companies will tell you what you want to hear but ignore the promise when it comes to actual performance. United will lie about truck availability and quote any figure just to generate a broker fee. CR 7 takes a fly by night approach to transporting delivery.

DON'T TRUST EITHER COMPANY.

Scammed out of deposit.

This place is definitely a SCAM. I was told during two different phone calls with them that they would call to confirm my items a week prior to move, but 3 days before the move date they haven't called. I tried calling their customer service, but the phone just went right to a voicemail box that was full. I emailed their customer service and they were happy to cancel my move but refused to give me back any of the $964 security deposit because I was outside of the 3 day cancellation window after signing the contract. They tried to claim that they only call 24 hours prior to the move, but this is not what was told to me on the phone nor in their confirmation email. I was also told they didn't answer the phone because they merged with their parent company Razor Van Lines. It doesn't say this anywhere on their website and their phone isn't forwarded at all. Super duper shady? Definitely. I have filed a complaint with the Federal Motor Safety Administration, if you've had a bad experience with these guys I urge you to file as well!

Long-distance move from Pennsylvania to Arizona

Lies/scam.

After we paid the 1st deposit, every single person we sp/w gave us a different price. Robert told us that he "has been in this industry for 10 years. Don't quote me, but I'm almost certain that your items will fit w/in (the allotted cubic feet) ..!" He also stated our move shouldn't cost us more than $5500 (I don’t remember the exact amount, but it was under $6000). Our move from PA to AZ will cost over $10,000 (no exaggeration)!! The week of the move, Ronnie became our rep. He gave us a different "estimate" with the same items listed. We added & took away MANY items to keep this $$ amount down, but he ALSO stated our HHGs (Household Goods) would fit in the allotted space. Weirdly enough, we had 1 amount after adding an entire full-size bedroom set. We removed this set and added a commercial ladder and standard ladder. The amount did not change; it actually increased about $1000. Removed the ladders (BOTH) and the amount seemed to not go down! How does that happen? The day the truck arrived, we took Ronnie's advice and had a list of items that we were not taking; this was after providing box counts, box sizes, tote counts & sizes – as requested by Ronnie. He was nice enough to give us the box dimensions that were considered Small, Medium, Large, XL. He said this would help with our final total in the end. This meant nothing to the movers because they only had 1117 cf. for all our items and what they UAM considered “S, M, L, XL” was not the same as the moving company (who by the way, used the exact same size Penske truck that we had reserved for the move). The 1117 cf. wasn’t even half of the truck. The Forman showed us the initial space on the truck. It was barely enough for my mom’s king size bedroom furniture. After contacting UAM customer service, the lady who answered went thru every item we provided with us & the Forman (on speaker phone, mind you). We stressed "REGULATED" Olympic size pool table; they listed a regular pool table. That 1 item does not make a difference in the size we were given..believe me!! My mother literally got rid of almost her ENTIRE home items/furniture to make this move less expensive and we still got screwed! Once the rep thought we were all in agreement, she was removing herself from the call/about to hang up! My husband & I yelled AT THE EXACT SAME TIME, "NO!" we were NOT done! Of course, no supervisor is available on the weekends. Not 1!! We were very polite & understanding at the beginning of our conversation. Even told her that it was not her fault, until she tried to close out our conversation while we were still trying to figure things out. Then she became rude & short with us! The Forman contacted his boss/owner of the 3rd party moving company who gave us “a little” more cf. on the truck. Yes, of course we went over this amount and is still paying for it greatly! I would advise everyone to NEVER EVER use this company! Of course, you don't get the deposits back. Of course, we had to go to the bank the day of the move to get more money out, of course we still have over $3100 to pay to have our furniture delivered. Of course, we have no idea what condition our furniture will be in once received. So many things we were told & promised & most of it was a lie. "You will have the peace of mind knowing you won't have to deal with gassing the moving van for a cross country move; doing the heavy lifting yourselves, etc, all for just a little more than what you are booking the moving truck for." - Robert ? He got us with, helping a fellow servicemember. "Free storage for a month" - not really. "Drop off in 2 states to help us" (since this was our plan in the beginning - Nope! Not happening! The movers are not allowed to do so unless we want to pay more. We will now be out of more $$ to get part of the HHGs to our home 4.5 hours away. $10668 for a move we could have done ourselves for $4000 (that's including gas). To top it off!! Once we paid the 2nd deposit, we could NO LONGER see the contract anymore! No matter which email we opened, they all had a banner at the top that read, “CONGRATULATIONS on your move on {date}!! Please contact Customer service for any questions.” We're so upset that I'm truly considering contacting my lawyer. Yes, we signed the documents, but they need to be stopped! This is sickening! I found out this weekend that another lady went thru the same exact thing! I didn't mention it to her. She volunteered the information. How is this ok?

The Worst Deal I Ever Made; Shame on Me!

DO NOT USE THESE SCAM ARTISTS!! They do nothing for you yet collect their fee up front which is never refundable! Hire a mover directly do not use this broker; they move NOTHING, just rake in your cash. Initial quote was just under $5,000 for a 150 mile move; second time they called it went up to just under $10,000 by the time the move was over it cost me just under $12,000. Once they have you hooked they have you by the balls literally..scammers. Once they get their money they totally fail to communicate and remove your on-line estimate so you can't get to it again! I called back acting as a new client and once I mentioned my move they hung up on me. GO DIRECTLY TO A MOVER..NEVER USE THESE GUYS!! They should be shut down for fraud. United American Moving service turned to crap after they got their money. They increased the contract right before the move stating that the sq ft had increased. They charged for boxes that were never used, refused to reimburse me. The contract stated there would be professional movers. That was not the case. I have tried to get this resolved a number of time via calls and e-mail, asking for a manager but always told that one wasn't available. The original cost was just over $2000.00 and by the time I was done with them price jumped up closer to $4000.00. They don't even deserve a full star.

Stay Away! be Ware! Scammers.

STAY AWAY! BE WARE! SCAMMERS. Even with negative reviews, I am usually optimistic but please find other movers. I signed a contract for $1850 for a small load. Two days later they ask for $500 for no reasoning behind it. With my deposit tied up with them, I decided to continue on hoping it would all workout. Upon moving day, they price me $4100 on top of the deposit. Which was met with "if you tip me well, I can bring it down to $3500."

I still have not received my deposit back and they didn't move a thing. UNBELIEVABLE.

I think this company is just making money on collecting individuals deposits because as in my case they never end up moving anything and simple take the deposit.

Cancelled within 72, deposit still not received.

I signed a contract and then decided to cancel. As informed, I requested the cancellation in writing on May 10th. Today is June 15th and would you believe I have yet to get my 90% refund back. They are just as friendly when they are trying to get your business but as soon as you want to cancel, those positive friendly attitudes turn into bullies. The guy I spoke with actually kept repeating to me, “ so you want to play hard ball!” Very immature and unprofessional. In addition, he kept invalidating my concerns by asking me why I think they have a 4 point something review and I’m like well if y’all are so great why does my little cancellation matter?! I would not recommend. Every negative review, I have read has matched my experience somehow. Something seriously needs to be done. They should not be able to treat people this way and get away with it. I want my money back.
