All my stuff were damaged and dented.

This is the worst nightmare ever. We have shipped a lot of big boxes with this company. When they came picked up the boxes, the boxes were in perfect condition. And I had packed all my stuff very nicely and protectively with ton of bubble wraps, padding, boxes inside boxes. But when the boxes were delivered to my place in the U.S., they were all completed crushed and torn open. All the stuff inside were damaged and dented even tho I had put a bunch of bubble wraps around them. The condition were unacceptable. And some of my stuff were lost because there were huge holes and openings on the boxes. I had no idea what they had done to my boxes? why the boxes were torn like that?

I am so disappointed. I spent so much money on the move and now all my stuff are ruined. My worst decision ever to have gone with Seven Seas Worldwide rather than other companies I have used before.

D not use Sevenseas Worldwide!!

I had ordered a shipping service to China on 9th August. After I have paid the deposit, I was then informed of extra charges of 442 yuan/£45 in China. I received the e-mails and waited at home. No boxes arrived. I called the call center several times. The service was shoddy and unreliable. The staff at the call centre does not really care, and kept blaming the customer. Finally speaking with a supervisor, he said to me that I have to pick the goods in person in China. Since I cannot do it therefore there is no need to send the boxes to me anyway. The deposit is un-refundable. Again he finger-pointed the customer. At the end, he put down the phone rudely.
If I could rate the service to zero, I would.
What a poor, unreliable and pathetic service that I would never recommend to anybody. Be careful.

Do Not Use This Company.

We moved from HK to UK in August 2017, after numerous disasters with Seven Seas Worldwide we received our shipping on 5th June 2018. Multiple items missing and multiple items in our boxes which are not ours.

Here's a rundown of everything from start to finish.

My husband arranged the shipping with HK office with Adzim. We wanted to pay by bank transfer, which Adzim advised yes we could. She delayed giving bank details until day of collection where she changed her story to "cannot do bank transfer. Leave the full cash balance with your boxes for shipping." Ludicrous I know. But with my husband leaving that day he felt this was his only option. He trusted Seven Seas Worldwide. I know he should not have done this and he knows too. But he did. He left $3000HKD cash in an envelope with the shipping papers on top of one of the boxes.

September 2017 (we're now in UK) we receive an email advising we have not paid our balance so our shipping is still in HK. My husband called HK office, not surprisingly they have no recollection of such a conversation. Call UK office, they will investigate. No option but to pay again. Pay £276GBP via credit card.

Receive our shipping 5th June 2018. Notice lots of items of baby clothing which are not ours. Notice we have a lot of big items missing. These include;
Kids scooter and helmet
Kids plastic table
3 designer coats
Large toy car carrier filled with cars
Bubble mower
Shapes for VTech shape sorter toy
Etc..etc..

Husband called company. Not much help. "Take pics of stuff you have which is not yours and list items which are missing."

All in they have "lost" more than £1000GBP of our belongings and they being no help.

Been in contact with UK Tranding Standards and HK Consumer Council.

Cautionary tale.

Avoid this company if you can.

Official company response

Dear Nicole,

You were shipping 8 boxes from Hong Kong to the United Kingdom.

We have reviewed the notes on your account and recordings of your calls with our Business Centre Advisors.

Our worldwide policy is that the driver is never paid cash; this is to safeguard the driver from mugging or the vehicle being broken into whilst the driver is away delivering or collecting shipments. We can also not guarantee that it will be our driver, there may be an accident or breakdowns which delay our driver and in such instances, to minimise delay, we draft in a contractor to cover.

When you told us what you had done during one of your calls with our Advisor, they asked you when you were told to leave cash and by whom but you were unclear. You instead said “the landlord had probably redirected the cash”.

We are mystified where the amount of HK$3000 as the final amount to pay. The Advisor would not have been able to provide you with an exact figure to pay for Shipping and Transportation charge. Your shipment is not invoiced until after the collection; to confirm how many boxes there were to be sent, confirm the destination address and what insurance you wanted on your shipment. Since you decided not to take insurance you may have thought to use the value of your quote for shipping 8 large boxes which is HK$3,295 but you paid a deposit of HK$700 which would have left HK$2,595.

You were, by your own admission not present when your shipment was collected by our driver, we therefore cannot confirm what happened prior to our arrival. Your shipment was held at our Hong Kong Hub until payment was received then shipped to the UK where it remained within our secure storage unit at our main hub outside London. It was then repositioned to our Glasgow depot, where it was again held in a secure environment, before being delivered to you by our driver. Your shipment was signed for as in good order.

Regards, Seven Seas Worldwide.

Appalling!

APPALLING! (China to UK) but Asia/China options not available)
Customer Service have given me misleading information.
They have not returned calls asking for help.
I have waited in ALL DAY for boxes to be delivered despite being given a noon-3pm (approx) delivery time slot, then told it wasn`t true then told 9am-6pm.
As advised I rang at 3pm to say no delivery as yet.
I got a call back at 3:35 but they hung up within a second before I could answer the phone.
I could not dial an international number so rang the 400~ number again. I was told I would get a call-back. NO call-back.
Will I get my boxes today?
Will they be collected on time in a few days? I very much doubt it.
The disgusting Customer Service team (headed by Susan Zhang) needs a real-good shake-up as they think they are little tin gods dictating to me a customer.
WHY did all this happen?
Because I said I did not want to communicate by phone but by email - clearer, no ambiguities and misunderstandings - given there is a record of what said on both sides..
It put their collective nose out of joint so they decided to screw up everything as punishment to me.
APPALLING!

We apologies for the delays in the delivery, we relay on local logistics companies in the area where you wanted the boxes delivered. Susan is in our offices in China and co-ordinates closely with the contractors.

We are awaiting your instructions on how you wish to proceed.

Used Seven Seas twice, will not use again in my life time.

I used Seven Seas Worldwide(SSW) twice, once from Germany to the UK, and then from the UK to Germany. I had problems and frustrations and lost work days the first time, but decided to give it another try, since the delivery in the UK was smooth(ish).
My god was I wrong. (tl;dr: DO NOT USE THEM AT ANY COSTS)
Moving is a stressful event, and due to many unforeseen situations, lots of bad things can happen. It can be delayed, things can be broken, etc. So one shouldn't take it too personally and lash it out on the moving company when these things happen. It's not entirely their fault, right? However, what makes a moving company good or bad, is how they handle the *bad* situation after it happens. In that sense, I would say SSW is the worst, and honestly should be out of business, since A) they are truly incompetent, that it makes simple critical mistakes repeatedly, such as mistaking the address and mis-delivering, B) it cannot control the third party delivery companies in foreign countries, and most irritatingly, C) it doesn't acknowledge their wrong-doing and reiterates the same excuse, that the customers' satisfaction is their utmost concern blah blah, of course which is a red lie, and but they cannot compensate for anything.
In the end, I lost two and a half working days, due to solely their incompetence, indifference and mistake, and was told there can be no compensation for this, due to statements in the contract. I looked it up. Yes, it says they are not responsible for the stuff not being delivered at the promised time, but it doesn't say anything about when the delay is caused by their OWN mistake, such as printing and attaching the wrong labels, as was in my case. And the craziest of all was, when my almost new 27 inch monitor was delivered completely broken, unusable, due to them not packing it properly, which of course they ensured they will, they did not accept any responsibiity, and said they will give me 'ex gratia' payment of 100 pounds, which is what I insured it for. That is for when the box is missing or completely lost, not for when my stuff is completely trashed because they packed it like packing a teddy bear doll. I have sent them photos of how my monitor was packed, how the box was squished, with no signs of 'fragile' or 'handle with care', 'monitor inside', etc., but they were ignored. If they were going to pack it like that, they should have told me to pack it myself. I am sure even as an amateur, I would have done a much better job than putting my monitor diagonally in a random box, and filling the triangular space with some bubbles, and expect it to survive a cross-country shipping. All in all, I lost time, energy, lots of money, and gained lots of anger and frustration. Who needs that in an anyway stressful cross-country moving? No one. Don't use it. Ever. Sure, for a simple move, they may be okay, but when the slightest *bad thing* happens, they will switch into the attitude of, since I got my boxes ANYWAY, that I should be happy about it, and that they have done their duty. Things I've lost and got damaged in the process? Not their problem. They are a disgrace, and they should be ashamed of themselves. BTW, since they seem to somehow pump up their review scores on trustpilot, I will be posting this review everywhere, so customers would know the truth.

Official company response

We are very sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with the service you received. We collected your items in the UK and at the time of collection we were supplied with an address in Germany which we took from the inventory form you completed. This address was later undated by you to a new address in Germany.

Your items were, unfortunately, delivered to the original address you supplied. We are very sorry for the inconvenience this caused. We sent our driver from our Belgium depot to remedy the error; he collected the items from the initial address and delivered to the correct address a few minutes away in the same town.

The damage to your monitor is very disappointing; we are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident. Our packing system should have protected the item during transit. Rest assured we have paid out for the value of the insurance cover regarding this job.

Please accept our apologies for the distress and inconvenience caused.

Regards,
Seven Seas Worldwide.

Strongly ADVISE AGAINST using this company.

Their system can’t handle shipments from one person to another. The website wouldn’t let me complete my documentation which delayed things for two weeks. The original arrival date was delayed by two weeks and then by a further week. This meant it arrived in the country on 20th December. Their website had no information at all about holiday closures but the depot was closed until 3rd January. No one had contacted me by 3rd so I called them and they said maybe I would get it on Monday 7th. This meant taking a day off work, so after an immediate payment they agreed to deliver it on the afternoon of Friday 4th January. The van arrived and the driver unlocked my MoveCube and emptied it out into my hands, item by item. He dropped a marble lamp base onto the ground. I was very unhappy that my personal effects were being rifled through by a stranger and feel that this was a significant breach of my privacy but I was in no position to complain. BTW, don’t expect the Tracking to be accurate. I watched it tell me my shipment was still on the ship travelling all round New Zealand and back up past Adelaide and Perth before I was told it had been sent to the local depot. I complained and got a long and grovelling email which said nothing.

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: £800

Official company response

Dear Kelly,

We are sorry you were disappointed in the service we provided you. We ship 40,000 customer's personal effects and household items around the world every year.

You have not provided a Job Reference so its not possible to respond specifically to your points. We did post our opening and closing times during the Christmas period but these were when we were open not necessarily when ports or customs were open. Our online documentation and tracking system has been praised in earlier reviews but we are always interested in finding ways to improve it. The driver is present to provide assistance as an extra pair of hands, there is no suggestion of "rifling through your personal effects" if you would have preferred you need only ask him to wait in his van.

We are always interested in customer comments and hope you can provide us with your Job Reference number so that we can see what we can do to improve future customer's experiences.

A reasonable budget service, ruined by theft and denials.

The price for a medium move cube to Australia from the UK was reasonable, around £800 all in.
The company provides tape, craft knife and markers for assistance in packing which is a nice touch, and even lends some cones for marking the spot on the road where the move cube will be put, again pretty good for a budget service.

At this point in the process the only gripe that I had was the response to email queries was delayed, generally answering between 1-2 days later, possibly because their administration is in another country, but for pricing enquiries this seems too long.
There were no problems with the pickup, and the transit time to Australia was three months - again this is about average.
The main reason that I left this terrible review is that after delivery to Australia, I stored the boxes in a storage facility for two months. Some of the boxes had been opened due to a customs inspection. As I went through the items, two suits and a vacuum hose were missing, and when I raised several enquiries regarding the missing items the only response was: "Thank you for your message but I regret that, as previously corresponded, we are unable to pursue a claim with the insurers for this distressing issue.
However I am certainly sorry that such a disappointing conclusion to your shipment has so very regrettably occurred."

Seven Seas Worldwide only honours its insurance claims if the theft is notified within one month of delivery - this is a clause in the contract that you definitely need to be made aware of, if you are putting the goods in storage like me. There was no attempt to explain the theft from my belongings. This is unacceptable.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: £800

Official company response

Dear Mr Jenkinson,

You shipped a medium MoveCube® from the United Kingdom to Australia. Your shipment arrived within the transit time quoted and without incident. During the clearance process, your shipment was inspected by the Quarantine Agency in Australia. The contents of your vacuum cleaner had to be emptied and disposed of at an extra charge. This inspection was conducted at our Australian Hub in Melbourne and with our members of staff in attendance; all activities were fully documented and anything removed for inspection was documented as returned.

Your MoveCube® was delivered and unloaded at your address on July 28th. We are unable to comment on the security of your shipment once it passes out of our control. Our insurance protection continues for 30 days after the date of delivery to allow you time to make any claim. This period is an industry norm. You confirm that you had the shipment held at a storage facility for 2 months, perhaps they would be able to provide further assistance.

We have conducted an investigation of your shipment but cannot identify any incidents which may have resulted in a disappearance of items. It has been our experience that other MoveCube® customers either forget or do not properly document what they have packed (it is over 6 months since you packed the MoveCube® ) or, during the unpacking, items are put away in haste but later rediscovered. This is not to disparage your claim but an observation.

We regret your unhappiness with our service but we are unable to assist you further.

Regards, Seven Seas Worldwide.

Lost at sea?

Yet again, appalling!
Early September tracker said arrive in Newcastle 1st October 2018.
3rd October it said arrive in Felixstowe 4th October.
I emailed Susan Zhang (CS contact handling my shipping) to query. 'Out of office' reply.
I forward query to customer services. NO reply.
Where are my boxes? No idea. Probably still in China.
Complaints procedure does not exist, stays in customer services.
I suspect my boxes are 'lost in the post'.

Official company response

Dear Mr MacArthur,

This is the second time you have used us, previously you shipped from the UK to China. On this occasion, you shipped from China to the United Kingdom. The estimated transit time is between 56 - 70 days, your shipment was available to be delivered to you in the UK after 83 days. Please accept our apologies for the delay. We provided you with boxes - free of charge - that are specially made for us. They are chemically hardened and specifically made for the purpose of international shipment. We are pleased your possessions arrived safely.

You have been in correspondence with our Customer Service Manager who deals with complaints and insurance claims so we are a little unclear about your comments.

Massive increase in price.

After my items were collected I was informed that the cost of shipping would be $310 - not $220 as I’d originally been quoted. I measured the suitcases carefully myself and cannot believe that the dimensions are so inaccurate as to incur a $90 additional charge. In addition there was no communication about which suitcases supposedly did not meet quoted dimensions and the customer service team hung up on me when I tried to get this information
Job ref: 000/306/574.

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: $330

Official company response

Dear Louise,

You shipped 3 suitcases and 1 bag from Sydney to London using our excess baggage service by sea. You used our online quote engine to generate quotes for shipping. The dimensions you enter are used to calculate the size of box that your shipment will be sent - all suitcases are protected in a box which is included in the price.

The dimension you gave us had to be increased which moved your suitcases into larger boxes. This was explained to you when you called.

We are sorry for any distress this may have caused you. You shipment has been sent and will be with you in June.

Regards, Seven Seas Worldwide.

Don't even bother.

Everything started out great, the quote was reasonable the times absolutely doable. But after I paid, it turned out I'd also have to pay to get it through customs. They didn't tell me that before. Then they tell me I haven't paid the first amount and say that I'll need to pay for storage. Except I did. I had the exact same conversation 2 weeks in a row because they weren't noting information correctly.
Then, after I got it through customs, I waited, expecting to have my packages deliver to my new address. Nothing. I looked at the tracker and it said my boxes were on a ship somewhere, so I waited. Still nothing. Finally, I call, and it turns out my boxes have been in storage, and they 'sent me an email saying to call to organize delivery.' I never received an email. So now I've had to pay for storage as well.
Their tracker isn't accurate, and they've consistently lost information, and end up wanting payment. Go with someone else. Anyone else.

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: $1490

Official company response

Dear Nadya,

We offer an online quote which can take as little as 30 seconds to generate. The Shipping and Transport Price is displayed but there is a note to check for any destination charges. If you had click on "View" you would have seen the breakdown of all charges including the destination charges.

Once you place your order you would have also received the detailed quote automatically and you have two weeks within which to cancel and receive a full refund if you were unhappy with quote.

You would have received regular emails updating you on the progress of your shipment and you can log into your dashboard to see the progress of your shipment as well. You would have seen the location of your shipment and would have received supporting emails requesting that you arrange the return of your shipment.

We are disappointed that you were unhappy with our baggage service.
