BUYER BEWARE!!! Great job guys!

Safe Ship moving has been excellent .Contacted us earlier to give us a projected arrival time , allowing us time to get ready. Driver was running late and the customer service team kept me updated the whole time. Delivery was a couple of days longer than I expected but they kept open communication with me during the process . Would recommend them to all my friends.

Long-distance move from Denver, CO to Lancaster, PA

**WARNING** READ THE FINE PRINT

Where do I start?... With the multiple up-charges, extremely delayed delivery, inability to fit all my items in the truck, lies after lies. Overpromise and Underdeliver- literally. My move was from CO to PA, 1800 miles with roughly 1600 cu ft of household goods. Safe Ship (the broker) hired Rhema Transportation Service LLC to move my items. Rhema loaded my items in CO on Aug 20th and I set a delivery date in PA for Aug 31st, giving them plenty of time to make the trip. What Safe Ship does not tell you is that the delivery date you put on the contract is the "First available delivery date" and the company has up to 30 business days after to deliver your goods. Shame on me for thinking I was working with a reputable company that cares about their clients and would deliver my goods in a timely manner. Nope, it took them OVER a month after moving into our new home to see our items delivered. Leaving my family including my pregnant wife and 2 year old without any furniture/toys/kitchenware and having to sleep on a blow-up mattress while this horrendous company sat on their hands saying "there is nothing we can do about it." We were left completely helpless and were fed multiple different stories/excuses as their updates made no sense and they could never tell us where our goods were and when we could expect them.

Safe Ship initially quoted me a price that was competitive with others received. After the final inventory call only 2 days before pickup their algorithm thought that that the cubic ft would be about 500 more so they wanted to charge me an extra nearly $5,000 more. I decided to sell some items to lower the up-charge to only $3,000 more. Even after being completely honest with my inventory list, the truck they brought for pickup still did not fit all my belongings and I had to sell more items privately that they left behind.

The driver for Rhema who picked up my items specifically told me that the truck they loaded was going straight to PA and it will be ready for delivery when we are ready for it. That was a complete lie and this is when the stories/excuses/lies started. The first story we were told was that the truck actually went to a storage facility in TX. Then a week later we were told that the truck broke down at the CO/KS border. Then after weeks have now past and still no updates/delivery date estimated, we were told the truck broke down again and was out of commission for a few days. Once we were updated that it was back on the road we were told they hit traffic/accident and the delay would be an extra 2-3 days. Are you kidding me!..A traffic delay might take 2-3 hours, not 2-3 days. Lie after lie. When we finally got our items delivered on Oct 4th, I found out the driver worked for a completely different company (MB Transportation) and said he picked up my items in a storage facility in CO on Friday and had it delivered on Monday…Why couldn’t that have gotten done a month ago!!?? Apparently what happened is after Rhema sat on their hands for over a month, they finally sold the contract to a different company…Why couldn’t Safe Ship negotiate that for me!!??

Throughout this process, Rhema did not answer their calls and all the numbers provided had full voicemail boxes where we could not leave messages. Safe Ship did answer most the calls but all I got from them is "there is nothing we can do" because at that point we were under the mercy of the transportation companies.

This has absolutely the worst business experience I have ever been associated with. Reading other reviews, apparently I am not the only one who has experienced this and these companies need to be brought to justice for putting their clients through pain and agony of being lied to over and over and left helpless without their personal belongings. I have certainly learned my lesson and I hope you take the advice and look elsewhere for your moving services.

Amazing Customer Service

I had booked a move with Safe Ship Moving for November but unfortunately had a death in my family which completely changed my moving plans. They honor a 48 hour cancellation policy but since I was well over the 48 hour window I reached out to their customer service and explained my situation and they were so accommodating and understanding that they gave me a full refund. The manager Darren even gave me his personal cell phone number and texted with me at all hours not just business hours and worked with me to make sure I was able to receive my refund. You have no idea how much this meant to me during such a hard time, 10/10 for customer service, thank you guys so much!

Thank you for the wonderful experience. I have moved multiple times in my life and most of them have been moved with brokers. The experience with Safe Ship was entirely different. Long-distance move from Miamisburg, OH to Pensacola, FL

Never again

As someone else stated, Safe Ship Moving is a broker. They have no control over the company that picks up the load or delivers the load. For my move they sub contracted Bay Area Express Moving, I have already left a review for them on Google. Safe Ship really couldn’t care less about my grievances with the move. Several things were wrong. On the day of packing, the crew showed up at the tail end of the 4 hour window. All very polite in nature, but one wreaked of smoke, another like alcohol. Boxes were not stacked on the truck properly, resulting in smashed boxes. Truck was no loaded in a way that would save as much room as possible. We were originally told(multiple times) we could use our card for the pickup and the drop off needed to be money order. I had to go get a money order which was not planned for. Day of delivery was even worse. Items that were told needed to be specially packed were not, despite being charged for such (twice, once when I made the deposit and again with the moving company-which they finally refunded after a fight). However, Safe Ship refused to refund the $200 that I was originally charged by them. Also on the day of moving, they had only the driver and ONE person to unload the entire truck, very poor planning. To top it off it was inclement weather and many of our boxes were left in the rain for a period of time because of the lack of manpower. To make it worse, the one other person who showed up was completely high! Not only that, he had smoked in his car outside of our house!! I don’t care if it’s legal or medical, that’s unprofessional! Called Safe Ship during the delivery, after and the next day to get things sorted out and customer service was terrible. Do not use this company, do yourself a favor and pay the money to do a POD or something actually reputable. For the outrageous cost of the move (2K move than estimated-TWICE) it’s the worst service we have ever received and we have had multiple military moves that were less than glamorous and still better than this. They have zero care for who they contract, and it showed.

Caution! Do not use this company.

Anyone who cares about their valuables should not use this company. They do not appear to vet the movers that they contract with to do your move, and the contract that you sign with Safe Ship will be replaced by a contract you will be forced to sign with whatever movers show up for your move. For my move, the moving company that showed up was PackRite (look them up, they have terrible reviews!). The first thing they did was claim that I had 700 cubic feet of items, which was impossible because my things were in a storage space that was no larger than 350 cubic feet. What I would describe as bargaining and extortion ensued after this. They agreed to come down to 400 cubic ft description of my items, then ultimately said that if I handed them the cash that I had in my pocket, they would write down “350 cubic feet” on the new contract that they were making me sign. While this is completely unethical and illegal, it is likely something they are able to get away with since this assessment of “cubic footage” (which is apparently subjective according to them) happens after valuables are loaded into the truck and, with most moves being planned for weeks, people are likely to not have other options. I signed the new document that PackRite forced me to sign, knowing I was in a really terrible situation but not having other options. PackRite did not give me a copy of this contract and then, on the other end, I was told of all sorts of additional fees they were going to charge me (that had been in the contract). Ultimately, many of my items were broken, but the PackRite contract would only have provided insurance coverage of something like $6 per cubic footage regardless of the value of my items. And, my brother and I had to unload everything out of the truck, because the sole mover who showed up claimed that there was a charge for each stair he would have to carry my things up (even though I disclosed all of this to Safe Ship Moving and was led to believe these things were factored into the quote). Throughout this process, the folks at Safe Ship Moving were unhelpful, essentially washing their hands of the situation and making no apologies. Honestly, this situation was heartbreaking and I’m sure they’ve left a lot of heartbreak in their wake. Moving is hard enough as it is, but the amount of time I spent worried about the safety of items I really care about was awful (not to mention all of the additional money this cost me).

Thank You

Thank you Safe Ship for the top notch service! It was a last-minute decision of moving to Texas, and we had very little time. Everything had to be carried out quickly, and Safe Ship did just that. My move was scheduled and I was ready to go just after just two days. They were able to provide me with a fair quote for my move that following week. They did all the planning, packed everything securely, loaded safely, transported my things, and delivered all my belongings within a realistic time frame. My movers have been very courteous and quality service too. I would truly do business with them again if I have to move.

I have to say this company goes above and beyond it may be because they're small time but I have to say I am very pleased. Long-distance move from Salt Lake City, UT to Greenville, SC

Would give 0 stars if I could

This experience has been one ridiculous bait and switch after another. We were all set to move our family across the country a different way, when I received a phone call from safe ship movers. Stanley walk through the process of moving with this company, and essentially convinced us to go with them instead of our prior plans. We completed a detailed inventory list over the phone, by walking room by room throughout our home and were given a quote based on that list.Basedon what was quoted, we added an additional 50 boxes just to be safe so we could budget appropriately for our move. We also added several large items that we weren’t sure if we were actually going to take to be on the safe side. (Queen bed, two large chairs, a sofa, a kitchen table). The final inventory occurred two days before movers arrived and we repeated the process walking room by room, counting boxes and omitted all of the items we had sold (listed above). We were given an estimate LARGER than our original estimate even though we had sold many items. This was concerning, but it was only a few hundred dollar difference so we didn’t make a big deal out of it.

The moving company tried to pick up our things before our scheduled two day window, but they return to our original dates once I pushed back.

The day the movers arrived, they did a walk-through The house, thought everything that needed to be moved, and gave my husband an estimate 2,000- $3000 more than the last estimate. My husband pushed back and was told we had more stuff than we had told him over the phone. This simply is not true. After reading other reviews, I now realize we should’ve seen the dishonesty for we used this company. The movers told my husband that the estimate wouldn’t be official until everything was moved on the truck, and it could be less than that based on how much space it took up. Went all of our stuff was on the truck, they quoted us the highest price we had heard yet- again, stating we had more stuff than what we had disclosed.

We opted in to the 30 day free storage due to some home improvement on our new house. We specifically asked where are things would be stored, and were told it will be stored local to our final destinations. They also told us we would have a 1 to 2 week window for delivery after storage. We contacted the company about our things to figure out the day we needed to request our things be moved. When we did that, we were told her belongings have been stored in Colorado, instead of on the East Coast and they required a three week window to transport ourbelongings across the country and deliver them. Three weeks is a long window when renovating a home prior to moving, and with two young babies timing is even more sensitive. Based on the time window and speaking with the company (paragon) about when we needed our belongings, we decided to request our things right away since we had to have our things in three weeks. We were told it would be closer to 3 weeks based on where trucks currently were. Fast forward 4 days, our belongs are supposed to be delivered in two days and our floors are still being refinished. We have nowhere to put our belongings and are being told this is our fault. This whole experience had been extremely unprofessional and dishonest.

We plan to tell everyone we know how poor this company is in hopes that no one else has our experience and has to leave (another) horrible review.

Long-distance move from Cunningham, TN to Ellicott City, MD

Not pleased

I scheduled my long distance move with save ship weeks in advance. I was told I’d be called 24-48 hours prior for my exact pick up date and time. My pick up date was scheduled for June 21-22. I received my quality assurance call the Friday prior and my price doubled. I think this should have been prior to a few days before so people are aware of the price doubling. Or why not make it at the beginning? I did not add anything but the original call was not as detailed. Then I called to tell them I sold some furniture and my price did not decrease. It was a whole bedroom set that had been sold. I waited patiently for my confirmation of pick up with no call so I called safe ship on Sunday and was told my move may need to be canceled. I was in disbelief as I was moving from Tennesse to Maryland and told this 1-2 days prior to my move. I asked if I could cancel to avoid not having a truck and they refused to give me my deposit but said if they canceled I would get it back. Talk about leaving you hanging. Anyway Monday came and they asked me to move my date to Wednesday which I could not and then called back and said they could do a 9:30pm pick up Tuesday night. At this point I had no choice as I had to be out of my home as I was under a contract to move. Well Tuesday came and guess what the movers showed up at 2am?!?! This was after talking to them several times and being told they were almost there. Had I not called them I probably would have not been contacted. I was told at 9:30 they were coming at 10:40, then at 11:00 they would be there in 30 minutes and then at 12:00 again they weren’t there as they needed a Uhual and so on. It was very unprofessional in my opinion. Safe Ship has third party truckers in which they hire so this is why your move is not guaranteed. If no one picks up your move I guess that’s why you get canceled. Needless to say my truck was packed and pulled out at 4:30am. I tried calling Safe Ship several times that evening and even though they say they are available 24 hours they don’t answer. I was called the next day but they did nothing to make it right. I was also charged for each step on delivery and my brand new memory foam mattress was ripped. But the movers didn’t offer a discount or really seem concerned. They did apologize. I would not recommend Safe Ship to anyone. I also paid for wrapping of my mirror and other furniture but guess what they had no moving blankets and had to use my blankets. I was told it was $75 dollars to wrap a mirror. I think Safe Ship needs to better explain to their customers all of the fees associated with moves. The third party even said they charge to disassemble and reassemble your furniture even though I was told that was included so they did reassemble the bed. Incorrectly so it had to be fixed. All in all it was not worth the $3,600 dollars and for a one bedroom home. Do better Safe Ship.

Do not use Safe Ship!

Terrible company. Lie to you from beginning to end. First off, they are not amoving company. They are a broker that books

your move and charges you thousands to do it. You can easily do it yourself. Stanley of course lied and said he had hundreds of trucks. They have no trucks. They are a broker. Even the owner of the company is nothing more than a crook. They do it all is the slogan Stanley told me they go by, we’ll… if they mean they lie, jack up prices, don’t return phone calls, lie some more during your move, jack up the prices again, and then blame everything on the moving company they partner with! Then yes!!! They do, do everything!worst company I have ever dealt with.read other reviews. Same story. The good reviews they got do not mention them. Remember the movers are not Safe Ship. They are just brokers. They love to list their good reviews under the moving company name they hired so be careful. Safe Ship themselves has 0 good reviews. That is because they are crooks that probable have some people on phones in a broken down warehouse somewhere.

Do NOT use safe ship moving!

It sounds like from the other reviews here that I was not alone in my experience with this horrible disgusting company. The sales reps are such smooth talkers it's incredible, but they LIED about almost everything! And there is no way to keep them accountable except through these reviews. DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE! Summary is the moving company damaged our items ($1500 worth) during the move and when we sent in the damage claims they did not reimburse us even after calling about it every week for 2 months. They kept putting us off to the point where the representative started to say, "Sorry, you're breaking up. Call us later." In addition, a sales rep convinced us to pay an extra $500 to have the movers pack the house for us (which as it turns out they LIED and it was actually $900 on the contract. I just didn't read it carefully enough). They came and started packing but they used gigantic human sized boxes and did not pack our items well, but instead they left plenty of empty space in each box. That's a problem when we are paying for each cubic foot of space on the moving truck. Not only that, they refused to disassemble any of our furniture which took up most of the space. In the end, my partner and I had to start packing ourselves to save space on the truck. We ended up having to throw away and sell last minute half of all of our furniture because we didn't want to pay for the extra space. We only had 930 cubic feet of space to begin with which cost us a little under $9000. We ended up actually only using 890cubic feet and they did not discount the price even after I asked about it. Do not use their service. Just don't.

Love this company

I booked with safe ship to move me from WY to FL, and they made the whole process seamless. Michelle and Lesley in customer service were so nice, they answered my every call even when I called after hours. When the movers arrived, they explained to me that I would be utilizing more space on the truck and I would need to pay for that space used if i wanted to move all of my things. Of course i was surprised because I didnt know what that really meant. All i knew was that they were telling me I would have to pay more, I called Michelle and she explained to me that I can stick with my estimate if i choose to but the movers were just giving me a heads up in case I went over. She made me feel a lot better about the situation and decided to load all of my belongings. The movers were really kind and helped me out with some large items that i couldnt lift or pack myself. Once they loaded the truck i definitely felt like all of my stuff would be safe, it was all blanketed and wrapped up neatly. It took about 2 weeks for me to get my shipment which was perfect since I took the scenic route to FL. My belongings were all in tact and nothing was missing. I would recommend this company to anyone who actually understands how stressful moving can be. 10 out of 10 for sure!
