Safe Ship Moving & Storage are amazing

Safe Ship Moving & Storage are amazing. Loved that they showed up in masks and taking extra precautions during this COVID time. The guys were very friendly and professional. The moved my Grandmother bedroom furniture to my house. The furniture was handmade from early 1900s. The guys without an issue, wrapped each piece with extra padding, taking great care, and pride. They also unpacked it and set everything back up without an issue. They will be my first call for all my moving needs.

Price cheating

I have recent using Safe Ship Moving Services, it is good at beginning but after the deposit $965 was paid the attitude was changed. The customer should know Safe Ship Moving Services is not a real moving company. it is just a broker! During picking up the previous price is changed from $705 to $1700 for the 2nd payment. after negotiating I felt that agent from Safe Ship Moving Services was not in my side and she cooperate with the local mover Luxury moving company to force me accept high price during picking up. it was a very bad experience. Do not believe Safe Ship Moving Services contract price!

Do not use

The process started out very positive, but as the date got closer the cost got higher and higher. I had to pay 3x the amount than what was quoted and over $7500. Her boxes were upside down, crushed, untaped. It was a horrible experience and the driver was extremely rude! I will never use this company or recommend it

Official company response

Hello Jody, We are sorry your relocation with the carrier was less than satisfactory. We evaluate every carrier using previous customer experiences. Every carrier we work with must be fully licensed, bonded and insured. Due to your dissatisfactory experience with the carrier ,we have stop doing business with them and also have filed a complaint with the FMCSA and launched a seperate carrier delinquency ticket in an effort to rectify the situation and to keep this from ever happening again.

Late shipment and broken/missing items

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. They tell you within 10 days delivery of your items but they are lying and only deliver after 30 days. They take your money and then when you try to get a hold of them it is so hard and they never call back! They are a rip off company and customer service is terrible. You should just drive your own stuff!

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2000

Official company response

Sahana, we are tremendously sorry your relocation experience with the carrier was less than adequate.Safe Ship Moving services is a moving broker, we charge a fee (deposit) for finding a moving company (carrier) to move your items. This fee is for arranging for a fully licensed, bonded, and insured motor carrier to move and handle your household items. When you refer to your quote increase you are referring to the carrier fee. Upon arrival the carrier charges a seperate fee for the pickup, delivery and transportation of items. The first half is due upon pickup and second half due upon delivery of your household goods at the intended destination address. Safe Ship Moving Services does not participate in the collection of carrier payment nor do we share in the proceeds of carrier charges. Once your payment is processed with us (required deposit amount) we will immediately have our dispatch department initiate the process of locating a licensed and insured carrier to transport your household goods.

Criminal Company

Short version - They made multiple mistakes, hired criminals to move (steal) our stuff, owned up to their mistakes, promised to partially refund my money (never did), and lied to the Better Business Bureau about the situation without providing evidence of their false claims. It happened to me, it can happen to you.

Extended version - I specifically asked for the contract to include a full 26-foot truck. They took an inventory of my items and wrote the contract for the cubic feet based on the inventory (not to include the additional boxes that will be needed). They assured me the contract included a 26-foot truck which is audio recorded and confirmed by Michelle Rodriguez and the Office Manager. I also paid extra for the Premium Packing package. They hired Your Way Movers, LLC to do the job for them. This LLC turns out to be a criminal company. They took 10.5 hours to complete the job, broke multiple items, did not pack or protect any items other than items found in the kitchen, and stole multiple items as well. This LLC did not mention any concerns about the contract until the truck was full and then demanded me pay them additional money since the contract was written only noting the cubic feet from the inventory list (not including boxes). I expressed concern and discomfort with the situation but Safe Ship advised me to sign the documentation agreeing to pay additional money with the idea that we would problem-solve this matter before delivery. I again expressed my concern and discomfort with the situation but Safe Ship advised me to pay additional money to the criminal LLC to have my items delivered and I would be offered a rebate/refund to compensate for the errors made by Safe Ship. The difference between what I asked the contract to include and what I ended up needing to pay extra was $2,064.19 and the Premium Packing package that the criminal LLC did not adhere to was an additional $1,276. Totaling $3,340.19 of faulty contracting and undelivered services (packing). After a month and a half of back-and-forth with customer service, I was offered a $445 rebate by Michelle Rodriguez and the Office Manager, which they said I should receive after I provide them my evidence (pictures, etc) of damaged goods/items so that they could file a report/claim against the criminal LLC and promised to initiate a claim for me against the LLC as well which I would need to confirm and submit myself. I expressed concern and discomfort with only receiving $445 back after explicitly asking for a full 26-foot truck and expressing discomfort about their advice to sign contracts for additional money the entire time and still not receiving the full services I paid for. They said they would continue to work on my case to see if they can get approved for a higher rebate once they receive my evidence against the LLC. I gave them the evidence, they filed claims on their behalf and I haven't heard back from them since. It has now been almost 2 months that they have been ignoring my calls and not responding to emails. I have not received any rebate of any kind. I contacted Better Business Bureau about these concerns and they said "we have completed our contractual obligations to you" "Safe Ship Customer Service has been in contact with you every step of the way as thoroughly noted in your Customer file" and "Your inventory and article list more than doubled." I rejected their response as there is no evidence of customer service being in contact with me after they were provided the pictures to file claims against the LLC to protect their company, I paid for services I did not receive (packing) and I expressed concern about the contracts the entire way through while I was continually advised to keep signing to pay more money, and the contract with the inventory list was written for 1277 cf while a 26-foot truck holds approximately 1700 cf which means that it would be impossible for the 26-foot truck to carry double my inventory list (2554 cf) if that were the case. I asked Safe Ship to again refund/rebate my money and to provide evidence of their false claims/lies to the Better Business Bureau and I have yet to see any action from their end.

Absolute fraud

I thought it was just me but apparently not. We had made an estimate, it was 4K initially. The week of, we were told to overestimate instead of underestimate the space we would use. Then, if we used less space, we would get our money back on space not used, since the company told us to overestimate. Turns out, doesn’t matter how much space you safe, you’re paying the estimate. Bud really cheated us out of our money based on this. I’m wondering if there’s an open class action lawsuit regarding this because I’ve seen similar issue for this company on every site. Hoping the company does right by me and at least refunds my security deposit. I would have cancelled if I knew how dishonest it would’ve been.

TERRIBLE FOR LONG DISTANCE MOVE

The fact my estimate was half the price than most other moving companies should have been my 1st red flag. But the gentleman that did my estimate explained their process a little so it made sense and sold it to me as I’d be supporting Veterans by using their services. I was very detailed in my estimate letting them know ALL of my big items, about how many boxes/bins I had, exactly how big my storage unit was, etc. THE ENTIRE PROCESS AFTER THIS WAS TERRIBLE!! When you schedule your move, you have the date you WANT and they require the very next day to be your “back up day” which I was told was only for unforeseen circumstances like weather emergencies or transportation emergencies etc. Fast forward to closer to move day, they decide they are going to do it on my “back up day” rather than the day I scheduled for with no valid reason. When I said that wouldn’t work for me and that I’d have to push it out a week later because of that, then all the sudden dispatch tells me they’ve had a “change of heart” and will do it the day I scheduled it for. Then pick up day comes-they contracted my move out to Geo Van Lines, a company that isn’t even BBB accredited who then tried to charge me $1800 at pickup rather than the $887 I was given at my estimate saying I had “extra items” that weren’t accounted for in the estimate and that I took up more space than my estimate was for. Mind you I also had paid for packing in my estimate for any items that weren’t in a box like my TV and some mirrors/pics etc. I DID NOT HAVE ADDITIONAL ITEMS. Because some of my items were in bins and not “boxes” and they only put “boxes” on the estimate, they tried to get more money from me. I argued with the manager of Geo van lines and he stated they did over charge and he would correct but that I still took up more space than estimated etc. I had to pay $1500 at pick up instead of the $887. I reluctantly paid the manager the $1500 via Zelle through my Chase banking app with him on the phone so I could verify in real time that he received my payment which he confirmed on the phone. He said, give me 24-48 hours and I’ll let you know when it will be delivered. 2 days later the same manager calls me at almost 7pm and tried to tell me he never received my $1500 payment and that my bank put a hold on it. I called my bank the next day and they said no, it was paid in real time when I made the payment on the phone because that’s what Zelle is, etc. I called the manager and told him and he said “oh ok, well I’ll talk to my bank.” Still no word on delivery date. I call a couple days later asking for an update on when my property will be delivered and he tells me he forgot to call me to notify that their truck broke down and they have to wait another couple days for another truck. About 5 days later I get a call that my things will be delivered the following day. When the movers arrive, yet another independent mover that is not Geo Van Lines, they have the incorrect numbers/data and are trying to charge me over $1000 at delivery rather than the $892 that my updated Bill of Lading states. Of course the mover at my delivery can’t fix it so I have to call Geo Van Lines-no answer. I had to call customer service for SafeShipping and they didn’t even have the updated Bill of Lading from Geo Van Lines. I had to send it to them and they still tried to tell me I was wrong even though it was literally an official signed contract I had with them stating what I said. GEO VAN LINES= UNPROFESSIONAL! It took almost 45 minutes and me telling them I even had screen shots from text messages from the manager admitting they overcharged and he was adjusting the amount as well as the proof of payments at pickup. Eventually that gets fixed and they start unloading….only to find they lost my box spring for my bed, one of my boxes of delicate items that was labeled as such-all the items were broken inside, and I’m missing a bunch of other random items. I haven’t even attempted to get reimbursed for it knowing how difficult of a process it will be given how everything else went. Everything about this process was a nightmare and kept me up at night several times. I would never use them again nor recommend to anyone! The only positive thing I have to say is the two gentlemen who delivered my items were kind and patient and efficient.

Long Distance Move

Wonderful experience, what a relief! Heard so many horror stories and was so nervous. Movers showed up on time on my scheduled date. The two movers were friendly, courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. They were in and out in no time, which allowed me to get on the road sooner than expected. Safe Ship provides storage of my belongings until my new construction home is ready. They’ll deliver right to my door when it’s time to move in! One of the best prices around, with terrific customer service! Thanks, Safe Ship!

Long-distance move from Aubrey, TX to Sherwood, OR

Great at first, then no communication

Moving broker, when things went VERY wrong with the movers they assigned (MC Movers), I was told I could only submit a complaint via email, which I did, but never received a response.

Safe Ship estimated very low, movers charged $2k more.

Read your contract VERY carefully, as you can not pack items in your dresser drawers etc. EVERYTHING must be packed in boxes, including yard items, hoses, rackes etc.

Then your items are moved from truck to truck to truck. Mine changed trucks /drivers 3 or 4 different times which of course lead to broken furniture and lost items.

Final delivery driver was very rude, and again, Safe Ship will do NOTHING to help you file a claim. They will not even acknowledge your complaints about Safe ship.

Over all - extremely disappointed.
