S & M Relo LLC

A friend of mine and I decided we were going to move. And so she sold her house and she had identified S & M Relo LLC and used them. I ended up using them as well. Everything went smoothly and I was pleased. They were good on both ends. They got the job done and didn’t break anything. And when we moved it was a torrential downpour and these poor guys were hauling the stuff to the truck in pouring down rain so I felt sorry. I hope I will never move again but if do I would call them up again.

You likely arrived at S&M because the quote appeared competitive, or like us, had the relationship created for you by a broker, but do you yourself a favor and RUN! This is a disaster of a company. You will not enjoy, and will have many sleepless nights worrying about the location of your stuff. Moreover, the owner Steve is unresponsive. I don't deal with the freight industry often, but it's absolutely amazing to me that people like this are able to make money like this. I assume it's because the only people he has to appease are the brokers, and once customers are on the hook, they really have no leverage to push-back on his company's tactics. I hope this message helps prevent someone from this experience.

The broker, American Long Distance Moving and Storage set me up with S&M Relo LLC to handle my move from Iowa to Florida. I was led to believe that the same 2 guys who loaded the furnitue and other items in Iowa would be unloading it as well. Instead the stuff was loaded and unloaded 4 times! There was only the driver to unload the items in Florida. A glass china hutch shelf was broken along with a box of martini glasses and a phone stand cabinet door. Three boxes were missing including one that had a family heirloom in it. Another box contained artwork along with photographs that my mother who died in April had signed. The third box had dinner plates and bowls in it from the Denby Company in England. S&M Relo LLC has no quality control whatsoever. The boxes and other things should have been color coded to separate the different families' belongings. Customer service would not help me get back the missing items. Instead, they kept trying to pawn me off on movingclaims.net where they pay by the pound which turns out to be next to nothing. If, by writing this review I can save one person the distress and heartbreak from using S&M Relo LLC that I experienced it would have been well worth it. Do not use this company!

DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER USING THIS COMPANY!!!! My experience is EXACTLY the same as so many others: Our $500 TV was missing. No help in finding it. I filed a claim (for $42 as they only insure$0.60 on the dollar). I have heard absolutely NOTHING from the claim website or S&M. I too, was brokered to S&M. (Through Allegiance Moving who is recommended by AARP. See Pamela Emory's review. That's another reason to avoid AARP.) When I called the brokering company, Allegiance, their shipping agent was rude and it ended in an argument. The entire move was a nightmare. S&M Reloc should be AVOIDED COMPLETELY.

This company was the worst! We moved from Michigan to Arizona. They were late two days which made us have to pile all of our belongings into the garage as the new people were moving in. My furniture arrived busted up and broken .Most all the boxes were ripped and broken items inside. I am missing at least three boxes that I know of including a whole set of brand new dish sets. I am so distraught over this - can't believe I trusted these people with my things. Plus it took three weeks for my things to arrive! Then I was told that my things were shipped from Michigan to California and sent to someone in California who said these were not his. My things got tossed into a warehouse until a new driver could come and get them. Honestly it feels like I just got robbed!! Please people do not use this company! I sure hope I get reimbursed for my missing things!!

They were hired by the company (or brokerage) that my grandma had originally signed and estimate with. But when these people showed up, they wanted $1400 extra dollars than what was agreed upon. When asked why the price was changing, all they simply said was because the broker didn't get the estimate right. He did not explain what exactly had changed since everything we had packed was on the original quote. They also didn't bother to mention what all had changed in this new contract before getting my grandmother to sign it. The man that showed up with his son was bereding his son the entire time. They claim that they provide you with free storage for 30 days if you don't have your place ready...lies. The next day the same sketchy moving place called my grandmother saying they loaded up the truck and they were ready to drop off. Another thing they changed in the contract the day of. Even the increase in price wasn't listed as to why it increased. Steve the manager is the most disrespectful man. He said he didn't care that the contract was completely different and that his guy didn't mention any of the changes. He said that she should have read it before signing it. An 80 year old woman that needed to be out of her home that day and had already been waiting on these guys that were 2 hours late, outside of the window they provided.

All in all, completely unprofessional, mismanaged, and dishonest. Please do not make the same mistake.

This company is a bunch blood sucking leaches lowest scum of life. If you don't mind paying cash monies for nothing to a bunch of crooks them use them. No one other than there for lack of better word customer service center bodies will even speak to you. Biggest bunch of rip of people that breath. I'm going on 2 months and still have no idea when I will be allowed to have my household goods. I even told them I would come and get it my self and, was told I could not. This is a theft of services and unlawful taking. Sad part is no one cares about S&M Relo doing this.

I used S & M Relo LLC two days ago. They were on time, SO professional, wrapped everything diligently, and got everything into our new apartment perfectly! They are super honest too. One guy wasn't feeling well for part of the move so they only charged me for two workers during that time. I would have never known and they could have charged me more but didn't. That kind of integrity counts for A LOT these days. I'd give more stars if I could and I will definitely be using them again and recommending them to friends and family!

This was hands down the best experience I've ever had with movers. S & M Relo LLC moving team showed up on time and with masks. I unexpectedly needed quite a bit of packing help at the last minute and they made it happen with smiles and not a single eye roll or complaint. There were some issues with the building I moved into and there wasn't even the slightest irritation there even though it extended their work time quite a bit. I would 100% recommend S & M Relo LLC to anyone, especially if you need to move during this pandemic. You'll barely notice any of the inconveniences of moving.

We hired this company for a move from Iowa to New Mexico. Originally we wanted to drive the stuff ourselves, but they quoted us for movers and it was surprisingly affordable. Hindsight is 20/20. The NIGHT BEFORE the movers were supposed to arrive, the company called to tell us that actually it would cost us twice as much as the quote and that the movers would be there in the morning instead of late afternoon like we'd agreed to. This meant we had to stay up all night scrambling to finish the packing we thought we'd have at least most of the next day to finish. The movers arrived and told us that it would be even more expensive to fit all of our stuff which we had already accounted for at the first quote. To offset the cost, we ended up having to rent a separate moving truck that I then, last minute, had to drive 17 hours instead of swapping off turns in the one vehicle we had planned to take. Once we made it to New Mexico, our stuff didn't show up in the 4-5 days they told us it would take. As the weeks went on, we tried calling but they just told us our stuff was in a warehouse somewhere in Iowa, which we had no idea they were going to do because they very clearly told us 4-5 days. This meant we had to cycle through the same few outfits we'd packed for the drive and spend hundreds on household necessities and food since we didn't have anything to cook with. They kept our stuff for over a month. When it finally got here, the truck couldn't fit in our driveway and the person on the phone told us we would have to rent another moving truck, drive to another location, load the stuff from their truck into ours, and then drive it back and unpack it all ourselves. We went back and forth until we finally got the driver to park beside the driveway and then we ended up unloading things with him. Finally, we had our stuff but then we realized that we had things missing including pieces of furniture, bathroom items, and a sewing machine I've had since high school. AND that they'd given us someone else's tote full of kitchen items. Since then we've called and emailed many times trying to return this person's stuff and get our missing stuff back, but they ignore us. My savings were wiped by this move and now they've lost our things and we didn't even get half of the service we paid for. Please do not ever use this company.

Also, if you moved with this infernal company sometime around May-July 2021 and are missing kitchen items, contact me because it might be yours and I'd like to get it back to its home.

This was the best moved I've ever experienced and I've moved A LOT. They were on time, efficient, helpful, and nothing was broken or damaged, not even a scratch. Friendly guys, asked where we wanted everything, were willing to relocate things when necessary. Quicker than I could've imagined and the price was fair and worth every penny. Will never move with anyone else. I highly recommend this company, you won't regret it. I can't believe I'm saying this because I didn't think it was possible, but this move was totally stress-free. Five stars!!

S&M Relo was the chosen contractor by my broker. I should have ran the other way when I realized that. Check out their BBB rating and the number of complaints they have about them to the DOT.

1. I was quoted $2000 for my move. Upon arrival I was told it would be $4000. Not sure if this is the fault of my broker or this company. My broker is Nationwide Moving Services, so blame whichever you want there.

2. The end of my delivery spread was 8/24. My things are still in Atlanta. On top of not delivering my things within the terms of our contract, they did not notify me that they wouldn't be able to make it within the date agreed upon by my contract. That is a DOT violation.

I'm told I'll be reimbursed "up to" $25/day for every day they're late. Laughable after they've had 6 weeks to get it here. As of today, they wouldn't answer the phone when I called 3 times. They will not fulfil your contract. 6 weeks after pick up and 2 days after my guaranteed "delivered by" date, my things are still not here. I have no idea what recourse I have.

DONOT EVER USE THESE MOVERS!!!! Many of our things damaged beyond repair, including my refrigerator which they took apart and then no one could put it back together again! Parts missing, a bookcase ready for the dump, among other things. I was promised a delivery date which they did not keep, no one returns phone calls from this company. My total move cost $20,000 to go from Mesa,AZ to St Anthony, Idaho. I will be filing a claim and if not satisfied I will be talking to a lawyer who handles these kinds of cases. Totally incompetent, lie about things, and the care of my belongings was atrocious! Dont even consider using this company or Nationwide Moving either.

INITIAL ESTIMATE WAS $8200 AND BY WHEN OUR STUFF WAS ON THE TRUCK THEY CALLED AND DEMANDED OVER $10,000 - INN THE END OUR MOOVE ENDED UP COSTING UP OVER $16,000!!

WE WERE TOLD OUR STUFF WOULD BE DELIVERED BY 10/9 ND IT DID NOT SHOW UP UNTIL 10/25

ALMOST ALL OF OUR STUFF IS DAMAGED OR MISSING... BIG ITEMS LIKE THE LARGE HEADBOARD TO OUR KING SIZE BED... ALL 3 OF OUR MATRRESSESM- KING MATTRESS, FILL SIZE MATTRESS AND BABY CRIB MATTRESS - OUR BABY'S CRIB IS MISSING - SO FAR I AM AT OVER $10K IN DAMAGES TO THE ITEMS THAT DID ACTUALLY SHOW UP.

WHEN WE WOUD CALL FOR STATUS OR TO DISCUSS CONCERNS, WE WERE LAUGHED AT OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

I CAUGHT THE PEOPLE LOADING OUR STUFF SMOKING CIGARETTES AND MARAJUANA IN MY HOME.

THE PEOPLE THAT SHOWED UP TO UNLOAD WERENT MUCH BETTER IN CALIBER. ONE OF THEM SPENT OVER AN HOUR IN OUR BATHROOM THEN ASKED IF WE WERE GOING TO BE GIVING ANY OF OUR POSSESSIONS AWAY - THEN ASKED IF WE PLANNED TO TIP THEM...

THE COMPANY MISCALCULATED THE CUBIC FEET AND WEIGHT BUT REFUSED TO CORRECT IT.

THIS COMPANY OPERATES AS IF IT HAS NO CONSEQUENCES FOR IT'S NEGLIGENT ACTIONS. STEER CLEAR IF YOU VALUE YOUR SANITY!

MY HUSBAND HAD TO GO TO THE ER THE DAY AFTER OUR STUFF WAS DROPPED OFF BECAUSE OF CHEST PAINS - TURNS OUT THIS CAUSED A PANIC ATTACK AND NOW HE NEEDS TO BE MEDICATED. HE IS A TOUGH GUY BUT THIS WHOLE EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN A LIVING NIGHTMARE - WE ARE STILL ASSESSING DAMAGES :(

Worst thing I have ever dealt with!! Cost over 10000 and than to get my stuff I had to pay an extra 1600 to get it a week after it was supposed to show up. So it all started with them originally showing up late for pick up. Which made everything I had to do late also which means I had to drive 9 hours away thru the night!!! Not what I wanted or planned. Next when they arrived they couldn’t take this or that and raised the price and so on. Next I get to New Mexico and guess what my belongs dont! I call I call I call I call I call. Finally some one tells me if that maybe my stuff will be there in 30 days. Are u kidding me!!?!?! So they say pay 1600 more and we can get it there tomorrow. So I do that!! When my stuff arrives half of it was missing and the other half was broken!!! felt like everything I had worked for was taken!! Cost me over 10000 dollars to be robbed!! Filed a claim and they wanna give me 40 bucks! 40 bucks!!! Lmao!! But guess what now I can’t even get my 40 bucks!! Called 500 times and no one is there that I need to talk to! Ridiculous!!!
