Prestige Worldwide Moving

Maybe you are like me..looked at quite a few movers, even investigated reviews, and you may see that there are a few very unhappy customers with *every* company. I thought, well there are a few sort of bad reviews for Prestige, but many good ones. I am now convinced that the company files these reviews themselves so they can brag about a 5 star rating they don't deserve. Here's what I learned from my awful experience with Prestige:

1. They'll give you a great quote.
It's calculated on a reasonable price per square foot based on an inventory list you send them. To get the most accurate quote possible I submitted a very detailed list that included the EXACT measurements of all my boxes and items. I numbered and wrote down the content of all my boxes, something I recommend during any move.

2. A random moving company will show up at your house.
A local company picked up my items and put them in a storage unit for the Prestige guys to pick up. Prestige may tell you they're not a broker, but don't expect to ever see anyone who actually works at Prestige.

3. They don't keep track of your things.
I called two days before my agreed delivery date to check on things (as I was boarding the plane to my new home), and was told by customer service that my items had been mistakenly NOT loaded on the truck that was taking them west. And no one had noticed until I called. Everything was still in a warehouse in Chicago. I had to call several more times to ensure it even go loaded on a truck at all.

4. While holding your things hostage, your charges will be increased.
While my things were a week late, I was then told they had underestimated my square footage and the charge was now around double the estimate. Remember how I gave them very exact square footage measurements? Yeah, I called them out on it. I kept getting blown off by the dispatch guy, but kept hounding him and customer service to give me an explanation. I eventually called the local mover who had picked up my things—he was a cool guy and confirmed that what he put in the storage unit was nowhere near the square footage Prestige was now claiming. I fought almost every day with someone at Prestige but had to pay the exorbitant new amount for want of my stuff (we were now almost two weeks out and living in a completely empty new apartment).

5. Don't expect to know when your delivery will be.
I was told that there were other deliveries on the truck that had my stuff and I was the last stop. I asked for an estimated estimate and got one. The day comes, no delivery. Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow, oh definitely this weekend, oh in the next couple of days..these are the answers I kept receiving when I demanded to know when the delivery would happen. Empty promises until finally they (non-Prestige movers) showed up 13 days after my scheduled delivery date. I had to wrangle the driver's cell phone number out of dispatch to find out when they'd be here.

6. They steal.
Everything arrived relatively undamaged except for one box. It was the box containing all our game consoles, which had mysteriously disappeared. How convenient that this expensive and desirable box is the only thing they couldn't keep track of..

7. Customer service is terrible.
They may sound like your friend on the phone, but they are difficult to get a hold of, have only excuses, and disappear as soon as you want to file a claim.

8. You might get some money back if you have endless hours to give them grief.
I eventually was refunded $575 after dispatch admitted that my square footage had been "mistakenly" increased. Note, this is nowhere near the amount I was overcharged and I have yet to hear back on my claim. I called and texted this guy countless times before the placating amount was sent to me through an app. SKETCH.

Moral of the story is DO NOT TRUST PRESTIGE. Do not trust anyone you talk to at Prestige. Do not trust the numbers they give you. Do not trust the contracts you sign. Do not trust them with any of your possessions. Next time I move cross-country I'm driving a Uhaul myself!

Our family had a life changing event and was forced to uproot and relocate our entire home and all of our belongings. With so much to do and not enough time to do it, I research and spoke to several movers. I have to honestly say after what I seen and heard I was worried. My family was very stressed and overwhelmed but then came the call from Prestige. The quote was more than what I have been reviewing but it just seemed right. After all said and done they came and packed up everything for us and we still managed to remain in our budget. I would recommend them to anybody they were professional and their service was exactly the way they said it would be. They followed through with everything they said they would and our family couldn't be more grateful for their help.

I really wasn't sure about using a mover especially after reading reviews. I was referred to this company by a family member. I was hesitant because although referred I did see some negative comments but my brother insisted that I use them due to his experience. Thank god I did because they were exactly what I was hoping and looking for. I guess that's service for you some are happy and some aren't but my experience was great. That's why I felt like posting this.I hope I never have to move again but if I do I will definitely call them.

Eric called me and we discussed my imminent move from Oregon to Arkansas. Being a single woman I asked him to include my son in the conversation. We talked on 3 way and Eric gave me a price and assured my son he would make sure my move went as smoothly as possible. I had to give him over 1,000.00 for a deposit. I waited for my move date and thought I would hear from them, but I never did. I called them the week before just to confirm that they were coming on the 27th of June. They assured me they were. I had everything packed and waited for them to come load. By the end of the 27th they still hadn't come, so I called them. They said they had lost their driver and they would have him there at 10 am the next morning. By noon of the 28th I was still waiting. I called them and after many calls I finally got through. They said they were still having issues but that it would be ok for me to go (I had a 2300 mile trip by car ahead of me) and my landlady could be there for them to load. I left her a signed check to pay the other third of my 3,000 dollar bill. By the end of the 28th they still hadn't shown up, or called me or my landlady. The same for the 29th and the 30th. All calls were made by me to them and it always took more than one call to get a person. On the 1st of July they informed me they were not going to fulfill their part of the contract and they would send me a refund check. By that time my rent was up, and I was more than half way to Arkansas. I was frantic and sick. So here I am trying to drive and arrange for my things to be transported. And this is 4th of July weekend! After I got to Arkansas I found a company that would move my stuff, and they would be there on the 5th or 6th. Royalty Moving Co were wonderful and a breath of fresh air after dealing with Prestiege Worldwide! They made phone calls to me and my landlady EVERY STEP OF THE WAY! Oh and I still haven't received my deposit either. Prestiege Worldwide is the WORST company I have ever had the misfortune to try to do business with. RUN!

This moving company was a great company. They said they help me to move out to my new home. Me and my wife are satisfied with the job that was done. All of my items were replace back how they were and nothing was damaged. They did it fast. I rate this moving company five stars and above. You guys are regular reputable company that I will use in the near future again. Thank you very much for moving me out. I will recommend family members and friends to this moving company. I prescient everything that you did. Thank you.

I am pleased to let everyone who is seeking to move from any location, know that I just completed my state to state move through Prestige Worldwide Moving Company. The company proved to be outstanding in their service, very professional, efficient, and timely in their work. Their pricing beat all competitors that I contacted, and they have a truly friendly staff. I am so enamored to report that the entire move went perfectly. I recommend this company to all who want great satisfaction in relocating their possesions. I personnally thank Prestige Worldwide Moving Co. for their exceptional value, and true commitment to what they promised. Check them out and you WILL NOT be disappointed.

I contracted Prestige to move my stuff from California to Mass.

The contractual pickup window was Saturday to Sunday.

They didn't show up on Saturday or Sunday, and I got no word from them. They just were a no-show, despite repeated calls and emails.

Since my lease was up on Monday, I had to rent a truck myself that morning, pack everything up, and start driving.

They called me back on Monday midday (as I was in the middle of packing up my uHaul) and told me that the driver was "sick or something". I told them I wanted my money back. They said no.

They told me their contract says they reserve the right to pickup within a 48 hour window of the pickup window *due to Acts of God such as natural disasters or other unforeseen circumstances*. (This is true, their contract does say that.)

I said that is irrelevant because a driver getting sick is not an Act of God, and besides that's no excuse for not calling me.

They continue to refuse to refund my money.

I contracted with Prestige on short notice, and wish I'd done more due diligence and research. Please consider the following red flags that I identified through a little research, and pick a different company:

Red Flags with Prestige:
-They ask for a significant up-front deposit. Legit moving companies will not.
-They do not do an in-person estimate. Most legit moving companies will.
-There are numerous typos and spelling mistakes in the contract ("clinet"/client, "cancelation"/cancellation, "du e"/due, etc etc)
-Their website claims they've been in business since 1993, even though a whois query shows their website was created in January of 2015. Perhaps they are indicating the start date of the company "Professional Moving & Storage", which was created in 1993 but was shut down in 2003, according to bbb.org. Not sure exactly what is going on there, but bbb.org says that "According to information provided by the North Carolina Utilities Commission, Prestige Worldwide Moving is in no way related to Professional Moving & Storage, Inc DBA Prestige Moving & Storage in Chapel Hill, which operated from 2002-2012 and is now out of business." So it appears that Prestige is claiming the lineage of Professional Movers, even though there "is no connection". I obviously don't know the full story, but the clues reveal troubling inconsistencies.
-As of the writing of this review, their website claims a bbb.org rating of A+, even though it is currently a D+ (as of Feb 19, 2016).
-The picture on their website, that shows a truck with a Prestige logo on it, is clearly photoshopped. The base image is a stock photo that you can find on shutterstock.com, and the perspective of the logo is off. These guys don't actually have trucks with "Prestige" painted on, but they'd like you to think they do.
-All the other photos on their website are from stock photo sites like shutterstock, etc as well.
-Dozens of 5-star reviews, and a handful of awful zero-star reviews? No two, three, or four star reviews, on any review websites, anywhere? That should trigger a red flag for you.
-Let's all just remember that the name "Prestige Worldwide" comes from the 2008 movie 'Step Brothers' with Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly.

I know you might be rushed and need to make a quick decision.

Pick someone else.

This was one the few moving experiences that I've had, and also one of the best. I want to start by saying just how professional and qualified the staff at Prestige Worldwide Moving are. All of my belongings arrived to my destination, North Carolina, in the same condition that they were in from my house in Maine. The staff handled everything with so much care and I cannot thank them enough. I did not expect many of the glass collectibles that I have to survive before my move, so I had packed them in extra protection. However, judging by their professionalism, I was not as worried during the move. My glass collectibles arrived to North Carolina in tip-top condition without a dent or scratch! They were very responsive to all of my needs. The price is very reasonable and I will use this moving company again if I ever have to move.

I was so stressed out when I found out I had to relocated from Oregon to North Carolina for my job. Thank goodness I found Prestige Worldwide Moving company. They made my life so much easier. I loved how professional the staff was and the move went so smoothly and well, I just couldn't believe how blessed I was to find such an excellent moving company. Best part was that the cost was very reasonable. It cost 2000 and it was worth every penny for the great job they did! I would definitely recommend them for anyone looking to move!

I have to say that I was truly surprised about how well this move went. I contacted them about six prior to the move out date and to my surprise they took the job anyways. They showed up at my now rental property in Michigan at a little before nine in the morning on a Monday and had everything gone before noon. They arrived in North Carolina at a little before eight in the evening due to my work scheduled and they had everything unloaded, unpacked and put away before eleven. They conducted themselves in a professional manner from the very start until the end. Everything was in the same condition as it was before it left Michigan.

Service cost: $2200

I am not really sure how they have "manipulated" the good reviews!! Personally I had a nightmare-like experience. Everything bad I heard about moving company does, I ended facing all of those. I am not even sure where to start!!
1) They are merely BROKERS. However, they claim to be First party movers. They simply sub contact the work to some other company!! I still have the email where they claimed they will send their own people and truck. However, what they did is just sub contracted the work to a company namely "Relocation Specialist". To make things even worse, they continuously kept on claiming people they sent were their own. But, the people who were delivering kept on saying they do not know anyone in "Prestige Worldwide", and they do not have any idea who they are. If this is not "Cheating" in a business then I do not know what is.

2) They give you an estimation at the time of the contract and right before the delivery they claimed that their "Estimate" was "Little" bit off and I have to pay $800 more to get my goods. Then when I told them I would go to Court if they cheat me like this then they reduced it to $300.

3) Stolen goods. They stole my PS3 and other expensive electronic goods. Do not even know how they can be in a business where they steal the goods they are moving.

4) The movers they sent were not professional. They not only broke things at the pick up place they kept on using profinity for no good reason in a family environment.

5) I have never really received a final invoice from the company. When I charged the delivery guys for losing my goods they literally fled away!!

I actually paid $500 more than other companies as I saw all the good reviews here. I am not quite sure how they have "arranged" these reviews to fool the customers. But, all I can say is "Beware". DO NOT TRUST this moving company!!

This company is pure scam. The ratings here are also false. 4 stars?? Do not use this company they will take your money, ask for deposits, cash payments to deliver your goods. They use different drivers not part of a company just ramdom guys that complaint about what kind of company is this. They give you a quote and then a driver comes and tells you another price in my case it went up from 10000 to 15000. They are not BBB accredited or can be insured. Their addres is a residential one. No response to your claims. Stuff is damaged and some pieces stole. DO NOT USE THIS MOVERS!

I set up recently for my property to be moved from Florida to Colorado. When the movers called me to set up delivery I had already been informed that some of my property was still in Florida by a third party. I told the delivery driver I would not accept delivery or make my final payment until ALL my property as agreed in our contract was present and accounted for. At this point the driver got irate and hung up the phone. Two days later they contacted me saying the driver felt threatened and in fear for his life and refused to make the delivery. They said I would have to come pick up my belongings at their location and they would be charging me storage until then. I still have not received my belongings and told them I had no way to pick the items up myself nor would I make the payment they are requiring for them to release my property until it was all accounted for. They have repeatedly refused to allow me to talk to anyone in management and the only contact I have is someone named Reggie who is in customer service. All I have is his private cell and whenever I call the number on my bill of lading there is no response. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE AT ALL COSTS! Oh and if you'd like to call Reggie to voice your concern his number is 954-516-6855.

Prestige Worldwide Moving is an excellent moving service. During my recent move from Florida to North Carolina Prestige Moving handled everything very well. And this company is very careful and complete because their customer service is fantastic. Specifically the move went very well from start to finish. The entire staff was very professional and curteous. They made me feel like I was important and that made a big difference from other moving companies. I felt safe using Prestige for my moving needs. Overall I am very pleased with Prestige moving, and I would recommend this company to family and friends, Great Service.

This was the close to the most painful chapter in my life. They have no idea of the magnitude of what they've done for me. A bit of a wait for pickup however, it was worth every minute. The men were so kind, polite, helpful & efficient. More items than expected but they said they'd take everything. I was overjoyed to have these years of misery closed! I needed it done ASAP & constantly called Prestige for 1 reason or another as I've spent my last 2 years in court w/my ex & this put me in a dire financial situation & they did work w/me as much as possible. It was worth it to me as I'd spent so much time worrying as to when & how I was finally going to get all my belongings in 1 place so I could move on w/my life. They took all of that off my mind which was literally the weight of those thousands of lbs. I didn't really check items carefully as it was so nice to have my life in 1 place in almost 2 years, but since they've been here things look fine. Although I wanted to give the movers a tip to show my gratitude for everything they'd done they understood my financial situation & were very gracious. I recommend them to everyone & all 3 of the gentlemen I spoke to about anything & everything over the course of 8 days were always patient, kind, understanding, courteous, quick to return my calls (even before & after hours), not 1 time became rude, loud, short or treated me unkindly. I don't know when I've dealt w/a company that was so consistent in providing such excellent customer service. They were the 1st company to contact me when I began searching for a mover & there was a sincerity in Anthony's voice that I felt I could trust & my instinct was spot on. Thank you all at Prestige Worldwide Moving & you'll never know what a significant role you played in helping me move on w/my life! God pointed me to you directly & that was no coincidence. This was the first time that I had used a moving company and I have to say I will go to them every time. There staff is professional and courteous with your things and they pack up everything nicely. I am a stickler when it comes to what things go where and they listened to my every word. Upon delivery they even helped me unpack a few of my boxes for me. I got a great price as well, I think in total it came to a little over $2000. If your need to move quick and with great caution with your things this is surely the company to chose.

As anyone who has made a major move before knows, it can bring a lot of stress and anxiety. Not only about the cost but about the concerns of the moving company you seek to hire. As such I had to make another major move last month. After reviewing several companies I came across Prestige Worldwide moving. It gives me great pleasure to advise that Matt gave me a reasonable quote and enough confidence to use them for my move to New York. They packed everything very carefully, including some very costly family heirlooms. In addition I have some very pricey electronic equipment .On moving day, Prestige was at my old residence earlier then anticipated. That was a surprise. The workers were very professional and careful. I could not have been more pleased. Then I took my flight to New York City. Within 72 hours more or less the truck arrived and the workers unloaded the truck seamlessly. I was totally impressed. There were a few small items that needed to be purchased along the way but not high amounts. Now that I am happily settled into my new apartment in Manhattan I am more then pleased to encourage anyone who plans to move to contact Prestige moving. You will be just as pleased as I was..Michael Jay.

Moving can be such a hassle, between boxing everything up and loading the truck. I just couldn't do it this last time and decided to call from some assistance. Calling was a breeze and they were so kind and helpful. They explained the moving process to me and I was actually excited for the help! They came and picked up ever thing and handled the fragile items with care. Once my things came from to Florida I was one happy camper. Nothing was ruined or missing. Hopefully I do not have to move again but if I do I know who I am going to call. Awesome Company!!

I had 6 rooms of furniture and a shed full of stuff that had to go from Key Largo, FL to LaFayette, GA (nw mountain area).  With 3 women (me and my 2 daughters) and a 2yr old toddler, it was an overwhelming task at hand.  We could pack, but no way could we load everything into moving vans.  Add to that we had two cars as well.  A friend in Miami suggested Prestige as her new neighbors used them & were delighted with them.  That was local, though, so I put Prestige on the back burner.  I contacted one well-known long distance mover.  I nearly choked on the price.  Called another one, bit lower, but still high.  So, I 'tried' Prestige.  They moved nationwide: great news!  Next, the price: 1/3 of the lowest quote!  I booked w/them.  I was still a bit nervous , but from loading up to unloading, we got excellent service, helpful employees, and everything in perfect condition.   I highly recommend this company.    Oh, they even beat us to our new home.  Only by an hour, but what a happy surprise to see them there waiting!  .

Presitge worldwide saved my life! They are the best. I was put in a stressful situation when the movers I had hired did not show up. I called for a last minute move and they scheduled me immediately. I worked with three movers and John was the one in charge. The guys did an great job. They brought huge boxes and wrapped all my furniture safely. They were fast, kind, courteous and highly skilled. Their rates were really competitive and at the end I did not have to pay anything extra. The level of customer service was really high. I would recommend this company to everyone who wants quality and great customer service.

I had worked for a moving company when I was fresh out of high school so I sort of knew what to expect and what to look out for in these situations. Three men arrived on time at my Daytona Beach House to Wrap anything that can open or move in transit while taking an inventory. The men had great attitudes towards working and were polite and kind also a little funny but never unprofessional which I respect so much. They treated my belongings as if they were their own, I never gave them advice which as an ex-mover I thought I would have to point out flaws but there were none. My mind was at ease and that helps alot with the stress of a new job and schools for the kids. The cost of moving paid itself in just the pick up I feel, 2k to move from florida beach to northeast PA is a deal especially when they arrived in Kingston PA on schedule. I was worried that they would scratch the walls with the big appliances and furniture as I did when I was a kid but they left no mark on any wall and laid down paper so to not run the carpet of the newly built house. they went right to work and asked where we wanted the furniture set up and also where the paintings might be hung. They put together the sled to the master bed and bunks in the kids room. I never heard them argue or complain and treated my wife as a equal part of me which is huge in my book. I gave them a nice tip and would refer them to anyone who is in fear of moving or wants the best movers money could buy and at a cheap price, thanks guys.

I would have to say this move went very smoothly. The movers arrived on schedule, they were very professional, and took the time to listen to my various fears. They were pretty efficient and took great care with my furniture, particularly a large, expensive, glass aquarium for salt water fish. This item I was most worried about, but there was no reason because they moved it safely in one piece without incident. Everything went well and all in all, I would recommend them to anyone looking for a quality job at a really reasonable price. I was very pleased!

In this day and age, it’s hard to find a company you can trust. Prestige Worldwide Moving was recommended to me by a friend, and now I know why- It was last minute request but I just called Prestige and they arrived on time, assisted with Loading/Unloading and even helped clean up my apartment. This moving company is professional and cautious with everything they are doing I will recommend them to my friends and small businesses in my area!!
The quality of service I received was outstanding. Keep up the good work!

Please let me start off by saying what a tremendous experience this was!

I recently got a job transfer from South Carolina to Texas. Although excited, I was very preoccupied over what to do with my belongings . I was debating on wether or not to leave my belongings behind. Yes, I actually contemplated the idea due to the high prices of moving companies in the area. However, thanks to my neighbor at the time, I discovered PWM. I was very relieved to have found such an inexpensive and reliable service.

The crew was very professional with me and got the job done ! If I were to be relocating again, these guys will be the ones I'll call!
