Long-distance move from Nevada to Virginia

Never ever again! In life!

On 07/01/13 I spoke with Justin, sales guy, to arrange a move from las vegas to Virginia. Like everyone else has previously stated, they are more than accommodating and nice as pie before they get your deposit/money and your items! So I explained to Justin that the "Latest" I needed to have my things in VA is Aug 1st since I work from home.  Without studdering. The "Typical" response from the shark was" Oh no problem. We have a 7 - 12 day delivery time and can definitely handle that but we'd have to pick up your items by the 22nd at the latest in order to get your stuff to you by Aug 1st." so, I agreed to the 22nd pickup date. We went over a complete item list from room to room and he booked me for 442 cubic ft at a quote of $1400. I put up a reservation deposit of $140.  Then Justin tells me he can guarantee my Aug 1st date if I pay another $400 and I tell him straight out "No" and why would I need to guarantee it for another $400 if it's a 7 - 12 day delivery time (shoulda ran then!).  Anyway, on the 22nd they sent 2 guys to come load my furniture in their truck and they also were nice as pie.  However, once again. As everyone else has stated, my load goes from 442 cubic ft to 650 cubic ft equalling an additional $736, so my total move cost immediately jumps from $1400 to $2136 for a 2bd apt.  The driver told me I would have to put at least $900 deposit down that day. Which I did grudgingly.  It was so last minute and I had already given my 30-day notice to vacate so I felt stuck between a rock and a hard place.  After loading my things on the truck he told me to put on the contract the first available deliver date July 22nd and that would guarantee that my stuff would leave their warehouse within a day or two.  So, that's exactly what I did so they could get my stuff their by Aug 1st.  I flew to VA on July 27th, a Saturday, and called their office first thing on Monday, the 29th.  The delivery lady, Maya, started giving me a bunch of fluff and run around by immediately telling me that according to my contract they had 18 days to deliver my things and that their scheduling someone that day to transport my things.  So, I tell her what her sales rep oral agreement was, 7 - 12 days, and she repeats herself again as if I didn't hear her the first time. She did this a 3rd time and I told her I don't know why she thinks I didn't hear her the 1st two times and that all I wanted to know plain and simple was if my stuff had still been sitting in their storage for a week now and had not even left vegas. She hesitantly said "Yes" and then repeated to me that they were working on scheduling my things to be transported to Virginia.  I asked to speak to Justin and she said: "Justin can no longer help you with this matter"! I was like wth!  So, of course, I get off the phone with her and call back several times to speak to Justin and to no avail. He pulls the "Disappearing act" better than David Copperfield himself!  So, of course, I get Maya again and I tell her Justin offered to guarantee my move by Aug 1st if I paid an additional $400 and that they needed to guarantee that date without me paying any more money becuz I feel like I've been totally misled by their sales rep becuz I had to have my work their by that date.  She tells me she has to talk to "Upper mgmt" (some made up bs becuz you will never get a name associated with "Upper mgmt" no matter how hard you try) to see if they can expedite my move and get it there by Aug 1st.  She doesn't call me back, but is brazen enough to send me an email stating they can expedite my move for an additional $1500 on top of the remaining balance of $1136 I owed left on my contract!  At that point, I wanted to buy another plane ticket back to vegas just to go to their dam office and get in their face! Then I go look up their company and see about 200 - 300 negative reviews total on about 2 or 3 different websites from 2008 til now!  The horror stories are all true and I cannot believe this company is still in business! So, when I call her back and let her know I'm not paying them another dam dime she sends me to their "So-called" customer srvc mgr Robert. Who has gotta be the most condescending, rudest, obnoxious customer service rep I've ever talked to in my entire life! Needless to say, this man used every excuse in the book why they are not responsible for the mess they created and told me they had 18 days to deliver my items and that I would not get my furniture until  the week of Aug 5th - Aug 9th becuz their company would not be able to tell me exactly when they will be able to ship my items! I told him that I thought customer service reps are supposed to "Help" resolve situations. Not hurt them and make them worse! Of course, he didn't like this but at this point, I could care less!  I told him I would look into finding a relative that evening to come get all my things out of their storage by the following day and cancel the contract and call him back.  Now I called back right at 5 pm closing.  Even crazier, their delivery manager answered the phone, told me everyone already left for the day, and tried to hassle me for the additional $1500 expediting fee by telling me he had a truck leaving next Tuesday, Aug 6th and could have my stuff to me by Aug 9th or 10th (notice how apparently no one except the delivery manager knows when a truck would be leaving out(total bs!). I told him why in the heck would I pay an additional $1500 for that delivery time when that would put me at the 18 day delivery time stated in the contract anyway! Basically, my stuff was going to be scheduled to be on his truck with or without the additional $1500 expediting fee! When he figured out I had his number he then tried to change his story very quickly and started telling me not to pay the fee, but I had already called him on his bs!  So, I was more determined than ever to get my furniture out of their storage asap no matter what the cost!  On top of the circus ring, they already had me in just from the "Start" of this. I did not want to risk what others had experienced at the "Back" end as well. Broken furniture, things missing, dirty furniture. Etc! So, I immediately called my family in vegas and had a Penske truck reserved for the next day. My step-dad and cousin went to their storage first thing on July 30th and picked up all my items from their storage. Of course, they found a way to keep my total deposit of $1040 at storage cost of $100 and $940 for a 2-man moving crew for 3 -4 hours and bs packing material (all my things were boxed and packed already except the large furniture. Couch, love seat, glass desk, 2 headboards, 1 footboard, 2 nightstands, 2 dressers, a 4-drawer file cabinet, and a 2-drawer file cabinet). All just to transport my things 10 miles down the road at their storage facility.  None of these expenses was stated in their contract of how much they would charge! The accountant mall could not even give me a breakdown of the costs, and to this day I have yet to receive an itemized bill for the $1040 deposit I put down. In the end at an additional $2000, my things are now in a Penske truck on their way here to VA via my cousin and his friend and will be here by Friday, Aug 2nd. I am definitely taking them to small claims court for my deposit becuz this was the most unprofessional rip-off transaction I've ever encountered in my entire life! Run-run-run for your life if you ever even consider this company for a move! (I can say a lot more regarding this nightmare but truly I'm tired of typing. Just heed the warning please!).

Long-distance move from Utah to Wisconsin

Overall good!

Oasis was really good to work with premoving with planning and scheduling our move. We were frustrated when they changed our move date 3 times on us, and were late! However I was pleasantly surprised that the price ended up really being what was quoted to me which is great! And I was very impressed with the delivery men and very few items being damaged. My husband and I joked and betted on what things would break, figuring it would be inevitable. But the only thing that broke wwere one glass cup and one plastic tray..both of very litle value so it was great! Overall good service, but be flexible with pickup and delivery time.

Awful moving company, do NOT use them.

Absolutely horrible moving company.  DO NOT USE THEM!   They charged me $500 more than the original quote, picked up my furniture June 6, and today is 7/3 and the furniture is still in Las Vegas.   When I contact them they only give me a huge runaround "It should be there soon".  We can't guarantee anything."  They have blatently broken their contract which states 14 business days is the longest they will take to deliver.    I hope to someday see my belongings.  Meanwhile I am submitting my honest review to every website and forum, as well as contacting my local TV news channels.  I hope to prevent this from happening to someone else.

Misinformed.

My original quote from Brian stated there would be 3 professionally dressed men with a 24 ft. truck.  I was told the travel time fee of $110.00 would be waived.  I specifically asked Brian what this was and he said it was from point "A" which was where I was moving from to point "B", where I was moving to.  Travel time was waived.  This was the ONLY reason I went with Oasis was because this fee was waived.  Never was I told travel time meant when the crew left Oasis to when they arrived at my place to load my things up.
I had everything boxed and in the garage ready for them to load into their truck.  With the exception of an entertainment center, everything was wrapped in plastic.  Out of the 3 men that showed up, none of them could hardly speak english and they were the slowest movers I'd ever seen.  My brother and I loaded all of my belongings a year ago in an hour and that was just the two of us doing it!  These men took over 2 hours to load my things up and the so called "travel time" was a trip of 22 miles, and even at the worst time of day, takes no more than 20-25 minutes.  It took them 45-55 minutes to finally arrive to my new place.

Before they unloaded the truck, one of the crew insisted I pay right then and I told him no because they hadn't even started to unload the truck and also because I was told the "travel time" fee was being waived, I wanted to speak to Brian before paying them anything.  Once I finally spoke to Brian, suddenly, the definition of "travel time" had changed and now meant something else.  I ended up paying them for 4 hours when it could and should have been done in 2 maximum.  I am on a very fixed and tight income budget and Brian knew this from the beginning, simply because I told him so.

The crew weren't dressed professionally or in any sort of uniforms. The simple fact they didn't speak english was a problem and I found it rude of them to speak their language in front of me.  They were, in my opinion, intentionally slow.  They broke a couple of planters right off the  start ad were just rude all the way around.
DO NOT use Oasis Movers for anything.  I'm still trying to find a way to figure how to pay bills and eat after the ordeal with them.  I'm very bitter and very angry!

It pays to read Reviews.

I want to start by saying it really pays to read reviews. I am a doctor, and I don’t write reviews but this time I feel it’s my duty to put up a sign. FLEE! FLEE! FLEE! I ignored all the reviews because a friend had used them and recommended them to me. Apparently, he had issues with them but felt all companies were the same and thought to keep that aspect from me. One of the worse experiences of my life. They are NOT a moving company. They are brokers. It’s all a lie. NOTHING they promised was true. The deposit I paid was a fraud. It NEVER mattered on the dee day. I had to agree to a new quote from the actual movers ‘moving express’ (Another high way THIEVES). We ended up in a hotel because they were late both ways. A word to the wise is enough, FLEE! DONOT add your experience if you are reading all this candid reviews, FLEE! We are saving you the headache.

Not Happy!

They picked up my stuff on the 8th of last month, after being scheduled for the 7th. Now it's the 4th of and I've yet to receive my stuff.
They're late again! I just keep getting excuses. I was supposed to start my new job today but I had to re-schedule. I'm losing money.
Containers are squashed, handles are broken, glasses are broken. Lamp is messed up.. It's just ridiculous.

Long-distance move from California to Texas

Oasis hijacking.

Let's begin with the quote given for the move , original quote tripled so I canceled the move and that was after they were a 2 days late . So Robert in management called me and now I'm at work and says we can go with original quote and the paperwork could be emailed no probem. Yes problem . Theyhad my 14 year old daughter sign contract to move my items from California to their storage in Las vegas instead of houston. They refused to respond to my calls and was just downright nasty to me after they basically tricked a child that is unable to sign any contract anywhere . After all the lies and unprofessional ism I decided I need to get away from this place and paid for my belongings which at that time meytal said they would tell me the location of my furniture in houston . To date still unable to reach the moving Co r and let storage since then , in addition to I Google company name and they did not have any records of my move. Now meytal is no longer there, wonder why and Luna sends me an email. Now they are communicating requesting 840 and guess what Robert in management said we will tell you then where your furniture is at. I cannot begin to tell you the stress this has created in my life. First they hijack my things and now I can't get them back. I suggest anyone even thinking of using oasis don't you will be very sorry. If anyone out there interested in filing class action please reply to email. This place needs to be shut down so that there incompetent and obviously uneducated staff can learn that without a customer you do not have a business. I too will be contacting U.S. Dot in addition to BBB and the recommendations given by another victim of Oasis as well as filing court papers for the unauthorized move of my belongings to Las Vegas. This behavior is unacceptable anywhere and for sure in the United States.

Long-distance move from Nevada to Florida

If I could only go back in time..

Add another horror story to this already un-reputable excuse for a company.   Like most I was enticed into using this company because of the price and because the sales rep that came out to give us our "quote" was very good at her job, getting us to buy into the fantasy of a painless moving experience. Couldn't have been more wrong.   After the quote was given and the deposit made, I was initially impressed with the companies responses to my calls or emails in regards to setting up the pick up date. They came at the time and date they said they would. The crew seemed efficient enough but it wasn't until most of it was loaded that the foreman informed us that our original quote for space was incorrect and that we'd be charged an additional $800 dollars. With our belongings already on the truck we regrettably agreed to the new price.    Pretty much after we watched our belongings driving away it went downhill from there. It was next to impossible to get them to return phone calls or emails. It can take up 21 business days for your things to arrive and they were absolutely awful at keeping us in the loop. Like most people in this world, having flexibility for a 21 day window is out of the question. I repeatedly told them that my window to receive the delivery were specific days I had off from work. The shipping coordinator told me that because I needed "advanced" notice she would tell the driver to contact me 3 days prior to delivery. I was called at 2pm for a 10:00am-12:00pm delivery the following day. When I told him I was not available, he said he would get a storage unit in his name and put my things in it and I would be responsible for the unit cost. Well I didn't trust him at all to do this so I had to get the day off of work losing $.   The driver showed up to my storage unit with his son who appeared to be a teenager and they unloaded our belongings. They were most definitely not professionals as they treated our belongings very poorly, showing no regard for anything fragile. This was done right in front of me mind you so I can only imagine what it would have been like if I hadn't been there. I wish I could say that this was the end of the experience, but the worst was yet to come.   After noticing that one of my rifles was "missing" and not where it was originally packed I began to be suspicious and opened every single box and check contents for valuables to our horror multiple things had been STOLEN. I say stolen because there is no other explanation. The items stolen were in sealed boxes and therefore had to be opened and rummaged through in order to uncover the valuables. We more or less payed someone to rob us and doubt seriously we'll see anymore than $.60 per pound. Items they stole were an expensive watch, power tools, xbox games, gaming headset, rifle, and some cash.($2 bills we were saving for our kids)     I don't care if we get full reimbursement for these items, they have thieves working for them and our trust was sorely misplaced. Do yourself a favor and don't even entertain the thought of using this company no matter how they pitch their product. .

Worst Experience of my Life!

I don't have enought space to tell you what went wrong.  To make the story short, they have my wife sign a blank bill of lading when I wasn't there.  They told her it was a form so they could start to load the truck.  They load up everything I own, call me after 2 days of driving on the road, and double the price.  They said my wife signed the form and we knew what the price was going to be.  They filled in the form after we left and after they were on the road.  So they hold everything you own hostage until you pay the new amount.  Which in my case was double.  STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY..I DON'T KNOW ANY OTHER WAY TO SAY IT.  It's sad to know that they are still in business.  I don't know how the government doesn't step in.  Just look at the BBB complaints..that should tell you enough.  Did I mention on top of everything, they broke a lot of stuff, because they didn't have enough people to deliver everything once I agreed to paying their robbery charges.  They brought in a drunk off the streets to help..sad.

Moved from Vegas to Michigan.

Awful experience! Was told 5-7 days..13 days later they arrive, at 1:30 am (yes AM). Very poor communication because of the heavy accent and poor English. Was given numerous arrival times only to be told, nope maybe tomorrow, with several excuses. Would never EVER use them again, even if it was free!! And they were extremely dirty with very poor hygiene. Avoid this company!!

Moving stuff.

Horrible. I used them from Las Vegas, NV to Windermere, FL. they were late delivering. Stole my 4-foot ladder. I had $4 dollars in change in a moving box. Someone heard the change paddling around in the box when they were moving it into the moving truck. They ripped open the box, stole the change out of the jar and put the empty jar back. The boss must not be paying them much to steal change. They broke plates, glasses, my desk leg, broke a piece off my tool box, etc. I called the claims department. They said to file a claim with them. they said 2 days. 10 days go by. I call again, they say you need to file a claim with anthem insur. I go there. You have to jump worth so many hoops. I give up! I paid $4,500. Don't use them so they go out of business!

Whole Experience.

They were due Friday between 10am & 12pm - showed up at 7:30pm. I specifically told Brian who scheduled that I would need the whole truck for my stuff. He said no problem. The guy showed up with truck filled with 400 sq ft already and had to load another lady in Carson on Saturday. They came back on sat loaded up truck and left at 6pm. When I went back in the house they had left a lot of stuff because the truck was full. They left my computer desk upstairs with my dog's bed, a vacuum and several other things which I had to throw out. They also broke the top mirror on my hutch.I was not mad about it breaking it was the way they handled it.I had to fill out an insurance claim and that was 3 months ago. I just received a denial from the insurance company. I had to pay for it myself and it cost 351.32. Also some of my stuff was missing. I would not use them again.

Great service.

I used Oasis Moving for my latest move from PA to NC. My friend used them in the past.
I would highly recommend using this moving company. From the very beginning they gave
me excellent customer service. Brian was my moving consultant and he worked out all the
details of the move for me, and was very detailed in his estimate. When the movers arrived
they were very kind and courteous and they did an excellent job handling my antique furniture.
I had the same professionalism on the delivery end. I can honestly say Oasis made this move
stress-free and I was very pleased with the pricing and quality of work. If I ever move again, this company
has my business as long as they keep up the great work.

Amazing customer care.

When I was planning my move from San Deigo to Texas it was a very stressful time in my life. I was getting quotes from so many different companies, It started to get a little confusing. Once I spoke with Daniel regarding all of the details he helped me get everything set up and organized. Answered all of my questions and was always there when I called him. The 3 movers who showed up were wonderful! They took the time to make sure the job got done right! I was amazed how they wrapped my funiture up so nice and protected. My main concern was for my antique grand father clock that was very fragile. I promised Daniel a great review if everything worked as planned. My items were delivered yesterday and everything looks
great! I will refer everyone I know to Oasis Moving!

Do Not Use Them They Are a Scam.

I paid them $3,000 to move my belongings from California to Minnesota. They picked up my stuff on 7/11/2016. It's now 8/5/2016 and they still have not even shipped my belongings. They lied and said 5-10 days on the phone when I paid over $300 for a deposit 2 months prior to moving. At the time of pick up AFTER everything I owned was in the truck they said 18 days. After 8 days I happened to inquire about the status of by belongings.. no one would call me back or give me an answer. 2 days later I received an email from May in their "accounting department" that I never paid the 50% at the time of pick up therefore my shipment was on hold. I literally watched the guy call in my credit card in front of me plus it is in their contract that you need to pay the 50% at the time of pick up. When I scanned and emailed the receipt that I did pay they then recanted, said it was there error however it didn't matter because they legally had 30 days to deliver my belongings. I let it go and figured the WORST that could happen was that my things would come in 30 days. I emailed them 6 days prior to check in and they stated that they had STILL not shipped my belongings. When I forwarded the email that the HR had sent me reminding her that they "legally"had 6 more days to deliver my belongings this is what I received back

Meagan, I tried to treat you in a professional manner but that’s not enough for you, you are not hearing what you want to hear which sounds like you lack education and professionalism. In my opinion ditto but if you need any further assistance you will not be getting it from me, you really have some nerve talking like that to somebody you don’t even know. Have a good one! Broken items, gift card stolen.

Broke a large screen TV, very obviously a TV that was wrapped in bubble wrap and a blanket, something was placed ON TOP of it and it was actually bent; broke a table saw; took apart an antique table WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION and left it without that screw that holds it together, multiple small items broken. At $0.60 per pound, I should get paid out about $10?? Hardly worth my time. But what bothers me more is the brazen nonchalant, not giving two hoots about my possessions. So if you do use them, be sure to observe closely and take out the extra insurance, personally, I will never use them again. And a gift card went missing; assumed stolen by the workers.

Do Not Use This Company.

WORST MOVE EVER!!

The company stole some of our belongings!!

They damaged two of my Solid Pine 5 Drawer Dressers

They let my belongings fall all over the place. Some heavy items fell on my $1500 mountain bike and the driver didn't care!!

The driver that delivered our stuff was late and his truck was in pathetic shape. In fact it broke down enroute to deliver our stuff and was therefore 2 days late!!

We paid for door to door service with this company but when the driver came to deliver our belongings he didn't have any help to unload and so I had to on a last minute basis get some friends and trucks to move my belongings into my home.

Customer Service with this company sucks!! They do not return your calls

When I submitted a claim for damages which were around 1k and requested reimbursement for them not living up to their delivery agreement they offered me $200

This company is a total JOKE!!

Most Unprofessional Company of the Century Award.

This is by far the worst moving company I have ever heard of, much less known. I was given a quote, and signed a contract. Then began the fiasco. I was told no specific day, but that they'd notify me 24 hours before pickup, because apparently I can sit around and change my life to accommodate them. I was notified 14 hours before hand. Then, the pick up driver was half a day late. They then proceeded to charge me double what I signed for by the end. I had been told it'd be delivered within two days. Lie. 3 days after pick up, I called and asked for an update. They told me it would take 7 to 14 business days, they didn't count the day after, and rudely refused to give me an update. I said, "So you can't tell me where my stuff is right now?" "No." "So I can't get an update?" "No." I am never updated. I called several times. Each time the incredibly rude woman refused an update, I don't even think they track the shipments, said it was "#" business day and that they'd let me know 24 hours before. We're now on business day 11, with no sight, sound, or news of my belongings. They're probably sitting in a hot metal truck, ruining my furniture in Nevada heat. If I call again, they'll tell me 14 business days and hang up. This is the most unprofessional moving company I know of. You can't get worse than this. Stay away--I'm sure my antique furniture will be damaged from heat by the time it gets here.

Horrible.

Everything including a three hundred pound Mahogany head board broken. If they could get into a box something was missing. Estimated damage is around 29,000.00. They even shoved beer bottles in our rolled up carpets. I’m considering filing a law suit as their insurance doesn’t neatrly cover the damages. Original oil pairings worth thousands damaged. Nothing arrived in its original condition. Thank the lord I videoed everything before hand. Just unbelievable incompetence plus alcohol on the job.

They are fraud.

They still owe me over $600 Marina and Tamara in accounting have avoided my calls and won't call me back. The owner EREZ won't call me either!! AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!! I wish I could give it 0 stars as it seem most people that review this horrid company wouldn't give them any either! I ended up not moving because they want led to charge me over $1200 more than what they quoted me. I knew they would have added at least $200 maybe $300 since I was not home at the time to give every single item. I have used them in the past and paid way less than what they wanted me to pay this time. I had way more items and it was the same distance. They are most definitely frauds!! I waited around in a hotel room because briand told me they would be there Saturday between 8 and 11 but got a call around 1 saying it would be the next day and that the first time frame never existed. Great! Back to them wanting me to pay way more money I declined to pay that much I told them to leave and I want my refund. So when I called I got Kathleen who could care less about the situation and told me if I wanted to talk to the owner I had to email. Haha are you kidding?! I paid a lot of money the first time (stuff was broken and I had boxes that belonged to someone else and they didn't care) they have over $600 of my money and I have to email?!? She hung up on me so I've been calling to talk to marina or Tamara in accounting and have left multiple messages but no call back! Oh and I've been told for the last three days accounting and the owner Erez will call me but no call back! Today is now day 5 of waiting. I just want my money.

Long-distance move from Eloy, AZ to Lake Bluff, IL

Dishonest conpany.

On June 27, 2918, their driver reached the entrance road to our bldg, and phoned me saying he could not make the turn into the building and would need to gets a second truck to shuttle in the furniture.

This is a senior living facility built in 2017
and numerous semi tractor-trailer rigs enter the facility each month. The building manager also went out to talk to the driver and told him he could drive across the grass to get the truck in and the grass would be repaired.

The driver eventually came in from the south and easily made the turn. (Was he trying to extort money?)

The driver then added several hundred to my bill because of the need to use elevator (dedicated freight elevator) and hallway. This I paid, but shouldn’t the need for additional charges be explained up front?

The driver then proceeded to complain to everyone who was gathered in my apartment

Next - Many of the boxes marked fragile were caved in and many of the the items inside were damaged. Two ceramic lamps were cracked, dishes were broken and a canvas cover over my outdoor loveseat was ripped in two places and had grease on it. My wife's jewelry armoire was also broken and this item was placed in the bedroom behind numerous boxes so it couldn't be seen.

Finally, I tipped each employee $100.00 and I bought them lunch. As the truck drive away, the driver threw his trash out the window. I’m in a wheelchair and have great difficulty picking up their trash. I sent 3 emails and got no response.

Long-distance move from Maryland to California

Never use Oasis.

NEVER, EVER use Oasis Moving and Storage -- for long distance moves, a local move or even to move a chair from one corner of your living room to another.  I contracted with Oasis for a long distance move.  They do not commit to a secified day to move you when you contract with them.  Instead they give you a two-day window.  Odd, but that was fine with me in this case, though having moved perhaps a dozen times over the years, I never before had this kind of requirement. As the moving date neared, I could not seem to get a commitment from the company on the actual moving day. One can imagine the hassle of not knowing which day you'd move.  In my case too, I was not able to be at the originating location and needed to arrange for a freind to meet the movers.  Without a reasonable advance notice, I could not make the necessary plans on my end for the move.  By the way, Oasis was fully aware of my requirement in this regard too. After many, mnay calls and emails to Maurice at Oasis, they finally notified me just 18 hours before the scheduled move that the truck would not be there on the appointed day.  Instead, they would come the following day.  At that point I cancelled the move concerned that if it's this difficult to schedule the move, getting my goods across the country in one piece at the agreed upon price would be next to impossible.  The customer representative I spoke to to cancel the move (forget her name) was rude, argumentative, unsympathetic, and unhelpful. To add insult to injury, the dispatcher in Maryland called to confirm the move day (not for the original day) AFTER I told Oasis I was cancelling the move.  When she learned I wanted to cancel the move, the dispatcher called back and told me that they could be there on the orignal day I wanted afterall.. So as it turns out they could have done it when I wanted. By now, dealing with them was such a bad experience I had no interest in doing the move with Oasis.  I am seeking a refund of my deposit through my bank.  Don't know if I will get it yet, but I am convinced I saved myself a lot of grief and added expense by cancelling the move anyway.

Long-distance move from Arizona to Virginia

Watch out for these guys!

I've moved over 20 times over the years and this was by far the worst experience I've had.
First I was not told my move would be subcontracted out.  I understand this can happen - but I asked the guys who I originally contracted with (Duntara Moving) and they indicated that they were going to do the move.  Wrong.  An outfit from Oasis showed up and I had to sign all new documents (after reviewing the Duntara contracts in detail) at the time of my actual move.
Second was what I discovered at delivery.  But first - what must have happened while I was on the first floor doing some final packing while the packers were on the second floor disassembling (which the contract said they would do) my bed and desk.  Unfortunately the did not know how to take the furniture apart and instead of asking me for assistance (I've move these pieces 3 times already with no problem) they proceeded to take them apart using brute force.  Why use a screwdriver when you can rip the furniture apart.  Needless to say - totally ruined.  I only discovered this damage when the items were delivered - not a word by the packers.  They busted the furniture, picked up the broken wood and put it in drawers and wrapped everything with blankets.
Next was trying to figure out delivery.  At pickup they said my items would be on a truck heading east by the end of the week. Knowing that this is likley done just to make me feel better and is not a commitment - I called Oasis Customer Service and asked them.  Over three weeks I was told the move was underway and I would hear anytime from the driver about the delivery.  After 3 weeks of this I was told by another CS rep that I was not given the facts and the truck was leaving the following week.  The truck finally showed up after 30 days and I discovered the quality work of the packers.  Only good thing was the guys who delivered the items.  They truly seemed to feel bad and understand they worked for a company that did not care about it's customers.
I'd avoid these guys.  And watch out if you get subcontracted! .

Long-distance move from Nevada to Florida

Worse Move by This Company.

The worse moving experience. Broken furniture, chairs with no legs, scratched and dented some beyond repair. Broken dishes and Iladro statues that they packed.  We were lied to and deceived.  Our furniture came by cargo on a train which we were assured would not happen due to the damage it can cause.

Long-distance move from Arizona to California

Oasis has poor customer service.

We got a quote from Oasis that seemed reasonable, however, the cost went up by $1400 once they got all our stuff on their truck. What ddo we do then.. We emailed Oasis with a very generous delivery schedule request.  Oasis replied to the delivery request, saying nothing about a delay. The delivery agent told us they would not deliver our stuff for up to 14 working days after we had requested it although there was no mention of that whenwe asked for the delivery. The delivery agent was a complete [EDIT], no customer service skills.  It took them 22 days to get our stuff delivered.  That cost us an additional $2600 in motel and food costs. We had to spend over $4000 extra because Oasis does not care about its customers they are in it for the quick gotcha.  Use another company these folks are not reputable.
