Long-distance move from New Jersey to Georgia

Do not use these movers.

More than half of my items were damaged. They were hours late. Loading until after midnight the neighbors called the police. They did not send a truck big enough.  They threw everything on the truck. They stole my jewlery, they stole cash, stole my strong box and my brand new comforter and curtins set. Refused to pay my insurance claims because I did not have pictures or proof of the items missing. The delivery took three weeks to get to me, they unloaded it and reloaded it so things were a mess, when they delivered it they did give me time to check the inventory, I am still suffering trauma from this move.

Service cost: $5000

Official company response

Nationwide Van Lines did not perform this move. This is a typical false claim by a competitor that found this information online as a review for another moving company "Worldwide Moving Systems" back in 2007 and decided to recreate a negative review. There was a customer named Susette that moved with Worldwide Moving Systems, Inc. back in 2007 - which posted this review :

http://nationwidevanlines.com/moving_company_reviews/keansburg_new-jersey

Nationwide Van Lines merged with Worldwide Moving systems a few years ago and stand behind our reputation, we do not have thieves, liars and crooks in our team. If you are a customer that moved with either Worldwide Moving Systems or Nationwide Van Lines we encourage you to contact our office and we will do whatever is necessary to resolve and accomplish complete satisfaction like most of our customers experience.

Unfortunately we cannot eliminate competitors from posting fake reviews about our company but we will do whatever is necessary to defend our reputation.

Most of the complaints posted online are fake and are done by competitors but we will keep our excellent service and customer care to continue and receive positive and outstanding reviews.

Long-distance move from Massachusetts to Florida

Avoid at All Costs.

I am a broke college student. I helped a friend store her items in my condo for over six months, as well as booked her move for her with this unfortunate excuse for a moving company. I was quoted $1000 for ONE BEDROOM's worth of belongings. This included a full mattress, a chair, a leaning wall desk, some boxes-- whatever you might find in ONE BEDROOM. Anyway, they were two weeks late with the delivery to Georgia. When the driver of the truck, who goes by the name "Uzi," got to Georgia, he decided to double the price of the move and did not consult anyone involved. They are now refusing to provide us with an itemized statement from what they cultivated on the date of pick-up, and are holding my friend's items hostage, as well as threatening to sell her things at auction. I have been dealing with this company for weeks now as they continue to raise their price (after doubling it), deny the itemized statement, and hold the items hostage. My friend is also a broke college student who now needs to find an additional $1100, as well as the $1000 I have paid during the course of this fiasco already!! ONE BEDROOM for $2100, originally QUOTED $1000. Avoid this laughable excuse for a company, and Manuel A. Torres in particular. Go with Mayflower!!

Delaware to South Carolina Move.

I contacted Nationwide over a year ago to move my home from Delaware to South Carolina. I worked with Laurie Osorio Senior Relocation Specialist, as our plans and needs changed we needed to make a partial move for now. I never made an interstate move before, she walked me through all the important details I needed to know..She gave great advice whether I hired them or another carrier. Her honest and caring answers indicated to me she understood the importance of making a good decision in selecting a moving carrier. She was always available for questions and suggestions. Our move was a success and they worked with my pick up schedule and delivery date. The crew they sent, husband and wife team Kenneth and Bree were amazing. They were quick, efficient and 100% professional! Not only were they the pick up team they were the delivery team, I was excited about my delivery a week later, and also couldn't wait to see them! We will be making another move later in 2019, and I can't even imagine hiring anyone else! You are in good hands with this company, They gave me a great piece of mind. Moving is no fun, but they made it a good experience for us. I wish I could leave a 10 star review!

Recent Move - JLWC.

Now that I’m settled in my new home, I wanted to take the time to write a very positive review re: Nationwide Van Lines. Throughout the move process, which included pick-up and delivery changes and other challenges due to Hurricane Irma, Ilana provided excellent customer support. This high-level support did not end with Ilana but continued with the team that packed and picked up my household items. Darien and his helpers were by far the best movers I have ever experienced, and I have moved numerous times. How fortunate for me that Darien and his team were also the ones that delivered my items to my new location and unpacked the truck. Courteous, professional, caring and kind – all adjectives that describe Ilana and the Darien Team. Highly recommended.

Long-distance move from Langhorne, PA to Framingham, MA

Tried to pay me to remove review.

I was very disappointed with my experience with Nationwide Vans Lines. I was moving from Philadelphia to the Boston area and needed my belongings placed in storage until I found an apartment.

I booked it several months in advance and was promised by Rich a 2-day window for pick-up which would be a guaranteed date by one month of the move (it is very difficult for me to take off a day from work without several weeks notice). However, when I called a month before the date I was told that they couldn't narrow it down any further than the 2-day window. When I was finally able to talk to a supervisor, Alana, she explained that Rich was fired because he was giving out wrong information and agreed to stand by his promise.

Rich had also told me that there would be a 7-day window for delivery. Two weeks before the move, I became aware that delivery would be impossible on the 7th day and was told by another associate that they would try to accommodate me.

Move out day was fine (although they were somewhat late). Unfortunately, the price was higher than the estimate.

Despite my daily phone calls they did not delivery my belongings within the 6 days I was available. I spoke to Kimberly who was rude and acted annoyed that I was bothering her. She kept insisting she would call with updates but never did. Finally when I called on day 5 she said my delivery would not be until day 7 and if I couldn't be there to accept it there would be over $1000 to delay the delivery. Fortunately I was able to speak to a supervisor, Nicole, who agreed to delivery it the following Monday or Tuesday with no extra charge.

I was never contacted and the delivery date was continually postponed (which I only found out because I kept contacting them). My belongings were finally delivered almost 3 weeks after the pickup date. When they were finished 2 boxes were unaccounted for. The movers insisted they were moved in but they neglected to check them off. They refused to move anything in order to check. I guess I won't know until I have everything moved out. It will certainly not be by Nationwide Vans.

Update: 2 days after I posted this review I was contacted by Rick. He offered me $500 to either take down the review or change it to a 5-star review. I would be wary of the good reviews for this company.

Our move from NH to MA.

Right from the start, Marisol, the costumer representative was fantastic! I really didn't know where or how to start with the inventory. She put my mind at ease and helped me throughout the process! Pierre and his team were great. They were professional, polite, and friendly. We laughed a lot! My least stressful move by far!! Thank you.

The worst move experience EVER!

I've moved dozens of times in my 25 year Military career and
Nationwide Van Lines has been the worst. I had over $10k in missing and damaged items on my last move. I was asked to do a "quick settlement" for $5k, and it's now been over two months with no compensation. Their Customer Relations Manager Rick Vera has been extremely dishonest. I'd absolutely avoid this company!

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $20000

Official company response

Hi Richard,

Sorry for the delay in the processing of your check. We are happy to hear that you have received and cashed.

Just to add to your review, there was prior history to your shipment as it was picked up from your residence and delivered to a storage facility back in 2018. The area suffered a catastrophic event (Hurricane). This caused your Military claims office to inspect and rid your inventory. It was re grouped into vaults and shipped to another storage facility. A year later we (Transportation Service Provider), handled the shipment from this storage facility to your new residence. Grant it, the foreman should have created a new Inventory sheet. We are not responsible for mold growth as we are only transporting from the storage facility to your residence. We simply followed the Warehouse Managers instructions not knowing the true definition of a Rider form and proper handling of the paper work prior to departing a sit facility. This is the reason for the compensation of the $5000.00 return to you as a member.

It is not fair to mention that you had over 10 k damages and missing items when you listed a king size mattress with mold growth on it worth $3000.00. Pro gear with mold growth worth $1000.00. Missing guitar $2500.00. Missing adjustable base twin platforms worth $2500.00. $9000.00 worth just with the above mentioned.
A total of 4 inventory items out of 24 line items. Your shipment was picked up on 08-12-19 and delivered 2 days later 08-14-19. Mold did not grow on your King size mattress in 2 days as your shipment suffered a catastrophic event prior to our handling as a carrier. I reached out to the storage facility as they mentioned nothing was left behind as all was emptied from the vaults. Too many hands involved prior to our handling.

We apologize for your negative moving experience as we did our best to provide you proper compensation based on the prior history of your shipment .
Most Sincerely,
Rick Vera

Not exactly on time but everything worked out just fine.

Only had a small issue with a box had a hole in the side. Everything else and the men who delivered were very courteous. I would highly recommend this company, Nationwide Van Lines.

Long-distance move from Columbus, OH to Boca Raton, FL

HORRIBLE MOVING COMPANY

It takes a lot for me to complain, but this company is definitely NOT RELIABLE. I booked a long distance move well in advanced. I was originally given a 2 day window. I received a call 2 days before my move from someone trying to postpone my move because they did not have any agents in my area at the time originally scheduled . I was moving out of an apartment and my lease was ending. What is the point of a deposit if the company can’t even guarantee you that they will be able to move you out within the original time window(that has been approved, weeks in advanced) Luckily, accommodations were made and the move was back on. I was still clueless on which day/estimated time I was going to be moving within that window. On the Thursday I was scheduled to move out, I received a call at 9:30am stating the mover will be coming between 2-4pm and the driver will give me a call when he is an hour away (Everything sounded great). I finally called at 4:40pm asking if there was any update as I have not heard anything. I was then told the truck broke down that morning. I thought it was very rude and careless for the driver to not call the customers he was taking care of when it happened to give them a heads up. I would’ve had no idea, unless I called the company. I was waiting all day for the movers to come and there was absolutely no communication. I was then told that the movers would arrive the following day at 7am. I never received a call that a driver was coming until I called AGAIN at 7:50am-asking for an update. The driver did not show up until 11. I was hoping to get on the road ASAP as this was a long distance move from Ohio to Florida. This company does not care about their customers time/money and the service that they paid for to have a smooth move. They are not reliable and don’t have any sense or care to be in touch with their clients. I understand things happen, but the professional thing to do would call right away and inform the paying customers of the situation, so they can plan accordingly. If the driver is going to be late, you let the paying client know. You need to be up their butts to get things done.

I was stressed the entire process on whether my driver/mover would even show up. The driver also showed up 8 days later than the date he originally told me that i needed to be ready for delivery. The delivery kept getting pushed back, and received no update from the company unless I reached out first. All of the boxes were broken/crushed and majority of my things were completely destroyed. Overall, this company needs to improve their communication and prioritize their customer service. I will NOT be coming back and definitely inform my friends/family to stay far far away. I am a very understanding person but this is completely ridiculous and I am very disappointed with my experience. This was a horrible, stressful experience. Not worth the quotes/money they charge at all.
