DO NOT hire them! NOT professional. NOT experienced.
We had an extensive conversation about exactly how much stuff needed to be moved. We were advised packing on day 1, and then moving and unpacking on day 2 would be the best way to go. They said 2 people and 8 tonne truck would suffice. Move was within the SAME suburb. They were professional right up until the point they showed up.
Day 1 Packing:
- They did not have enough materials for packing so left to go to Bunnings in the middle of everything
- 2 men spent THREE hours packing up a standard sized kitchen.
- They worked for about 8 hours and were not able to pack a 3 bedroom house that had minimal basic stuff, nothing extensive
- When asked for a receipt for materials used, they were not able to produce one but expected payment for materials
- They left stuff unpacked despite working for 8 hours, They're SO SLOW!
Day 2: Moving and unpacking:
- We still needed to pack things, they offered free packaging materials
- They did not provide packers on Day 2 even though half the house was still unpacked
- They AGAIN did not have packing materials so had to go to Bunnings
- Movers tell us they neither pack nor unpack, they just move
- The office had NO IDEA they were supposed to unpack as well despite our agreement
- Movers had to do 2 trips to move all the goods
- We called the company several times to ask for more people to help with packing up, and maybe a second truck because the packing was not done in time
- SAM (the manager) said he will send another truck but then DIDN'T
- SAM then said a second truck will cost extra
- SAM said the movers will unpack. Movers said they don't do that
- Three of us called the office several times in the afternoon and late into the night, and they REFUSED to talk to us. We were placed onto their "complaints line" and nobody would pick up, OR they would say they'd call back but never did.
- SAM AVOIDED our calls ALL DAY
- We ended up packing up our OWN car to speed up the move
The second truck load was taken to the new house at 11:30 pm. We were told we have to pay the invoice otherwise they will not unload the goods.
SAM the manager was telling the movers not to unload the truck but refused to talk to any of us to sort out the exorbitant invoice. The invoice also included estimated time to finish.
Their website states
""We don't invoice for future payments", and
"Payment for removalists services is to be made on completion of the move",
yet they HELD OUR STUFF HOSTAGE till we pay the invoice and refused to deliver the goods.
We called the POLICE for advice. SAM kept telling the drivers to just take the truck to the depot and unload everything there. He was abhorrent!! Absolutely disgusting, and utterly unprofessional. He refused to talk to any of us directly. He said "let them call the police. They can't touch my truck. This is a civil matter and the police cannot do anything".
All we wanted to do was clarify their unreasonable invoice prior to payment. The truck then DROVE OFF with our things.
Eventually the truck driver called and we sorted something out so they would at least leave our things at the house.
These guys have NO intention of helping you. The workers move slow to make the most of the hourly rate. Some of the workers are good people and do their best, but their management is phenomenally incompetent, inept, and argumentative.
Instead of helping to make the move easier, the management of this company just repeatedly got in the way.
They didn't even unpack because by the time they finished delivering it was 1am!! We ended up hiring SOMEONE ELSE for unpacking.
DO NOT HIRE THEM! The positive reviews have GOT to be fake in light of how horrendously every little thing was handled in our case. Their management team are arrogant and tenacious, and utterly unscrupulous when it comes to dealing with clients.
Wow. This company is shocking! Very unprofessional. Sent wrong size truck so had to hire a budget truck too. Broke several items but worst of all my washing machine. Ripped the control panel and wires right off then hid it! Ended up $500 over the quote and the guys tried to make me pay for their one hour lunch break! Can't make a complaint because they block your number or leave you on hold!
Unprofessional, slow, didn’t know what they were doing. Turned up an hour late, took 5 hours to load our furniture which was ridiculous. Reached our new home at 7pm at night in the dark, cold rainy weather. Worst experience - we feel like we were scammed. The sales woman was very quick to offer false times for furniture removal - it took three times as long as she suggested. I hope this company goes under - their rating of 3 stars is obviously false.
Not professional. They will cause damage and absolve themselves of all responsibility.
They will also delay the time on the job to try and extort more money from you.
I know that the owner of this company, had another removal company before this which he continued to operate while insolvent. Eventually he was forced into receivership, but the line of consumers who were awarded damages by VCAT, didn't see a cent. Avoid this company at all costs.
First move in 35 years and I made the mistake of booking these cowboys. Prior to booking, was hounded by emails and phone calls seeking my business. I almost didn't book them for this reason, but ended up doing so. They were two hours late. I phoned the contact person and he said that he would check where the truck was and get back to me. He didn't and from then on refused to pick up my calls. Shabby van and two very slow, inexperienced guys arrived. They were hopeless, slow and spent so much time on their phones. We were only moving 500metres, with very little furniture and 90 boxes. One guy stands on the back of the truck while loading and unloading so essentially only one person was working. We are in our 70s and ended up assisting with the loading and unloading, carrying far too heavy loads. When they arrived at the destination, they wouldn't unload until we paid an amount that they had set. We asked for a discount because of how late they were and that we had done a great amount of the job ourselves. They refused and refused to unload. We ended up having to call in family members to get the job done. They then wanted to leave all of our things in the foyer of our accommodation and not take it to the first floor (a lift was available). A family member stepped in and insisted they complete the job. This is the first online review I have ever written, such was the extremely poor performance of this company. I'm sure there are many good removalists out there so save yourself the stress and don't use this company.
I cannot recommend this company, incredibly untrustworthy.
In short: Delivery completed, but goods were held ransom and I was forced to overpay
Do not trust the positive reviews where the reviewers somehow know the names of the delivery people, they never introduced themselves by name to me.
Delivery of 3 bedroom home completed with negligible damage, distance around 30km. HOWEVER:
- After booking I was told to pay a $20 "booking fee" to keep the delivery date, which would be deducted from final cost. This was not told to me during initial discussions. It was never refunded.
- The movers arrived an hour late.
- The truck was loaded in such a way that it took as much space up as possible, had to take the remainder of our possessions in my car. This was a large capacity truck, everything should have easily fit.
- The delivery truck drove at 60 kph along a 100 kph road that made up most of the delivery route. It felt like I was continually having to slow down to check they were still following me.
- After the truck arrived at our new house, I was told I had to pay for the delivery time so far, plus one hour for them to unload into our new house, before they would unload the truck. This was not what I was told when I booked, I was informed I would only pay up to the number of minutes they took.
- The unloading only took around 30 minutes. When I confronted the delivery guy about it and asked for a refund of overpayment, he told me it would be fine and to ask head office for the refund.
I spent a considerable amount of personal time trying to recoup the $75 I was overcharged ($55 for 30 mins plus $20 "refundable deposit") and was given every excuse imaginable for not having paid the refund yet. I took up a transaction dispute with my bank to reverse the charge after a month of chasing, but the case was closed since there was not enough written correspondence to support my claim. Rather than take the matter further, I decided it better to alert others to the experience I had.
The removalists were late due to a mechanical issue with their truck but they arrived with a hire truck and were efficient and knew what they were doing.
Spoke to Gary and worked out costings. He was confident and felt that I could count on him. On moving date, Mowers came late, had to ring company and spoke the Daena to find out where they were. Work/timing were inefficient, had no safety belt, not enough range of allen key. They did not complete packing all items into truck that I had to hire another mover the next day. Don't trust quote EVER. Paid 1027 approx - 827 on card and 4200 cash. Do not also hire their packers. Shoddy packing box with their packers are equallyinefficient. Took 5 over hours to just pack Kitchen. Pliable boxes and don't understand how to pack or rather lack of respect shown to goods. Fresh food packed with pots resulting in spillage. . Just DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I rang Gary many times as I wanted him to explain what went wrong. He has refused to pick my call. Whilst the COMPLAINTS Dept has instructed me to write in, from other reviews of the same, I am of the opinion nothing will be done to compensate me hence the review. ** Do Not hire this company ** they will even send you a link once payment is made ** do not click as it as a standard review that gets shared on social media forum that is pre-done. So alot of people get fooled. When you see reviews mentioning names in full - please note that this was pre-filled.
I used their service on 2nd August 2019. I accidentally made two eft payments and have requested reciepts and refund on many occassions. Now they are blocking my calls.
All I want is my refund for over payment. Im not looking for any compensation for items damaged.
They quoted one price and when the turned up they demanded an extra $250 even though all of our furniture fitted within the trust they sent. Our furniture was completed damaged including our brand new expensive dining table. Tried calling them and kept saying they will call back. This company is a SCAM!
Booked for 9am as settlement was occuring at 2pm, knowing that gave more than ample time to be out of the property. They never showed up. Called the company at 9.30 and they said there had been a problem with the truck and they would call back in 5 mins. Never called back, we had to call them numerous times and they just kept putting us on hold. Hours later they said they could be there after 1pm. We told them not to bother and booked another company on the day. They made our moving day very stressful. Ive since discovered that they do this to numerous clients, they book in numerous jobs, hire trucks and if they have too many customers, well bad luck they just show up hours later.
Do not use MYMOOVERS Removalists! They are blankly unscrupulously unconscionably dishonest dodgey Removalists !! They damage the furniture, they are late, steal pieces of furniture, liars, unreliable, cost you more than appears & have little to no integrity ! I have never done business with a more dodgey company in my life. I have had to report them to the police for theft of goods!
Long story short, they overcharged, damaged our furniture and dodged any responsibility. They say they are insured but they are not. We have just completed a very lengthy (almost two years) proceeding against them. We won with VCAT but it has taken nearly 12 months for the sherriff to locate them due to false addresses. PLEASE IF YOU HAVE ANY COMPLAINTS, GO IMMEDIATELY TO VCAT. Their correct address for execution of warrants is 270 Church St Richmond Victoria.
If I could leave a negative star rating I would.
I have never left a negative review before but the service or lack there of from this company is appalling.
They damaged some of my elderly aunt's furniture in a move and I cannot get any compensation from them despite insurance being included and the drivers admitting to the damage. They will not return calls or emails and when I call and ask for Joe, Diana or someone in the complaints department I get put on hold for ridiculous amounts of time (I have waited up to an hour) until I give up and hang up.
NEVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY!!
2 hrs late.
They used a rental truck, even though the website states they own and use their own trucks.
Drivers tried to drive off without completing the job as they couldn't be bothered to finish packing the truck. I was lucky that I caught them trying to close up the truck and leave.
Stuff was left everywhere and I had to argue with them constantly to get them to put everything in the truck before driving off.
Removalists barely spoke english and couldn't follow simple instructions.
DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
My Moovers failed to complete job and when they left found broken items and furniture not put back together properly. When trying to contact them and sort it our we were repeatedly lied to or not replied to (phone and email). We Quoted 3-4 hours to move a 2 bed apartment and were there for 12 hours! They sent inexperienced "staff" when they explicitly promised experienced movers familiar with disassembling and assembling furniture. We are now having to MyMoovers to small claims tribunal. Worst moving experience imaginable.
We got quotes from removalists of $1050, $1200 and $1400, and a quote of $112 per hour from My Moovers.
We were told by My Moovers that we could sit back, do nothing, and it would take 5 or 6 hours.
We assisted like slaves and it took 13 hours!
Expecting to pay a maximum of $672, instead we had to pay $1519!
To massively underestimate the time it would take is either incompetence or deceptive sharp practice.
I shudder to think which one it is.
The booking process went well however on the day of the move, the movers were 3 hours late with no contact from them to tell me they would be late. I had to call them. Even when they said they were half an hour away this was not true. I had taken the day off work and ended up sitting around all day waiting for them. My new apartment complex had strict rules that you are unable to move in after 5pm and the movers were so late that we had to break this rule. The building manager was not happy.
I have emailed the company 5 separate times to complain and they have never written back. I find it unreal that they can just ignore a customer's grievances.
I recently used My Moovers, which was a huge mistake. They were late, they used a truck that was too small so they had to make the trip twice! They were not professional removalists and they damaged walls and furniture! They have a court order to reimburse me but have failed to pay..and they won’t respond to any emails or calls from me. And apparently they don’t even pay their people.
Stay away from them, find a company who knows what they’re doing.
Two guys came to my place with only one screwdriver, no measuring tape, no electric screwdriver and basically, NOTHING! Not thinking at all when the sofa was not able to get through the door, luckily I had two friends came over with tools and extra hands to help. They left the water hose behind without notifying me until I found out and asked them. They said couldn’t remove it without tools; I went back to the old house, as a female, surprisingly I was able to remove the water hose with my hands, no tools. Without the necessary tools to help them to speed up the disassemble, the move took longer than I expected.
Quote was for a 8 tonne truck end up with only 6, and it’s a budget rental truck! 2 people came and took 90 min just to get 3 bedroom furniture including double and king single beds which we dissembled already. 2 trips have to be taking yet still tons of stuff left behind which we have to move ourselves. Called and messages and emailed the back office, no reply. Extremely disappointed and stressed.
All the positive reviews on here are absolutely fake, do not trust them.
Lets just point out some of the issues with them:
The booking I had was for 1:30pm. The day before I received a text message from Aiden who confirmed 2pm with a 2 hour window (could come between 2pm and 4pm). At 4pm we spoke to Aiden who told my partner that the truck would arrive anytime between 4:15 and 5pm. At 5:10pm he said they were 5-10minutes away. The truck arrived at 5:30pm and it was not Aiden. It was 2 men who were off very small build who informed us that they had only been told of the job an hour before and came from Manly and to "not get angry at them". I understand delays can happen but being that late was not appreciated. I would have preferred the move then happen on the Sunday, instead of continuing into the late at night. Also there was no updates on where they were, it is not professional when I have to keep calling to find out where they are.
Your website says that Furniture will be wrapped in heavy duty blankets and that all furniture will be protected during removal and transit with clean and dry blankets. There were a few blankets used to cover furniture during the move. On one of our pieces of furniture (sideboard), a scratch occurred from the dolly trolley that was used to move it. This was not covered with a blanket. Also the blankets used were not heavy duty.
The website also says that you own your own trucks and that no subcontractors are used. It also says that uniformed removalists are our employees, no contractors. These guys had no uniform on, they were in plain clothing no protective shoes (just sneakers - unsafe practices). They were also using a Budget truck, not a My moovers truck as per your website. Clearly they were contractors.
Your website says that you also used Fit, experienced staff with a minimum of 3 years + industry experience. The one guy who was the "main" removalist said he had only been a removalists for half a year. This was clearly shown in lack of experience. My partner had to constantly help them when they requested it, meaning he was doing work when that wasn't meant to be the case. We were paying for a service except he was doing work.
In the terms and conditions in regards to Limited Liability, it says that we limit our liability for any loss and damage for certain factors which are beyond our control. Our Samsung 75inch tv was between two matresses which was fine, however the fact that the front of the truck with a lot of our heavy furniture (approximately 1 tonne or more) was only strapped with a 300kg strap which caused it to move during transport and causing the tv to fall during unloading is a damage that could have been prevented and controlled. This is what showed the lack of experience these guys had. If they had used enough straps or had packed the truck better we wouldn't be in this situation. That TV is very expensive and yes we can replace the legs and yes it is working however what happens that during the falling, bending and mishandling of the tv that in weeks, or months time if it stops working because of the way the inexperienced removalists packed it and handled it.
Then when payment occurred, I was forced the sign. I was not happy with the service I received and did not want to sign however the removalist would not let me not sign it and said that if I had any concerns to contact My Moovers on Monday.
The removalists were also very unprofessional in their manner, constantly on their phones talking and stopping work, causing the move to be slower than what it should have been. They used our bathroom without asking and just showed lack of manners.
Oh and to add have been dealing with the company and their response to damaging out $2300 TV is the $55 discount they gave me on the day. Also they are saying I signed to say I was happy with the compensation. They forced me to sign it. WORST COMPANY EVER.
I don't like to leave bad reviews simply due to poor service but this company is also extremely dishonest.
Scheduled 1pm start but was advised earlier in the day it had to be pushed back to 2pm which was fine given the advance notice.
I had two pick-up locations but after seeing the quality and pace of their work I only had them collect one item from the second location. I literally booked another moving company as they were moving my fridge. Even the receptionist at the Storage Unit company was alarmed and offered his support by standing with me to watch them as they loaded it into the van due to how poorly they were handling it.
At the end, one of the movers became aggressive when I disagreed they started at 1pm. I even had to show him my call log to provide evidence that he didn't call to confirm until after 1pm. Pointing out it was 4:15, and I was only paying for 2 hours and 15 minutes, he actually tried to haggle with me asking me to pay them for a start time of 1:30. I was flabbergasted.
They then asked me to pay 10 % GST to which I had to show them an email which confirmed quoted hourly rate was inclusive of the GST component. The best was yet to come. They then asked me to pay a 10% credit card surgcharge (fairly certain 10% is also illegal) , again referred back to the email which also said no additional fees or charges. But alas we weren't done. After agreeing that they were being paid only for their 2hr and 15 minutes of time with no additional charges they asked me to put my credit card details into an app on their phone. The app looked like something a child created. Not wanting my card to be skimmed I chose bank transfer.
