I was quoted a price to move $2649.72 by Matt Slawdowski on 8/20 for my move from Philadelphia to Las Vegas, NV the day of the move on 9/4/18 I was charged $7499.25.
I was sent a moving quote from Long Distance Relocation Services on 8/20 from Matt Sladowski in the amount of $2649.72. I understand that is an approximation but the day the movers came to move now the amount almost tripled to $7499.25. It is now Sept 20th and I have been trying to reach the company to get an update of the delivery and no one from the company has returned any of my calls. I reached out to the mover in PA at 201-375-1478 name was Anthony and no one has responded. I keep calling the number 877-285-7001 as well as the local Florida number of 954-594-1662. The entire contents of my home including furniture, clothes and family memorabilia were included in the boxes. I am a senor citizen on a fixed income and still waiting my delivery but have been unsuccessful in anyone getting back to me. I know the company has a US DOT 2580447 and ICC/MC # 903386. I am not sure what to do at this point except to begin litigation about this company . You call the company and they utilize an answering servie and no one ever returns your calls. I am missing jewelry as well as a computer desk!! PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THEM!! THEY ARE A JOKE!!

DO NOT DO business with this company !! Terrible experience.

First they gave us an estimate quote which was then completely changed at pick up date. By completely I mean more than double the estimate!! Seriously ? So that is the way they lure you into the job.
The team that came in mentioned they could not to anything and at that point you are practically forced to move forward with them.

They guarantee by contract delivery within max 7 business days from pick while they delivered 14 business days later.
Terrible customer service, you could only call a number and leave messages with receptionist and were called back only once saying they were going to deliver a little later than on contract and they were going to give us some discount which of course never happened. When the driver finally called to tell us they were going to deliver he basically demanded payment or was not going to deliver our goods.

Once our goods arrived, we had 3 missing boxes, missing furniture pieces, broken vacuum machine, broken floor lamp, broken shoe rack.
A real nightmare ! I filed a claim but still did not hear from them!

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $4500

I just went to court against this moving company this week. I live in VA and had to fly to Ft. Lauderdale. They did not even show up so I won the case - 1.5 years after my nightmare move. They lost or stole many of my expensive items including a large flat screen tv, california king mattress and box springs, irreplaceable 20x24 portraits of my son, etc. I filed two police reports, hired a lawyer, and nothing compelled these people to action. They treated me horribly and never returned my belongings. The ones they did deliver were grossly damaged. They stopped reducing my calls a year ago. One of the most horrible experiences of my life was dealing with these dishonest people.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!

Here's why:

1. We were charged nearly DOUBLE our estimate (which I was very specific on)

2. They lost our mattress and box spring (how do you lose such a large item??)

3. I had to jump through hoops to try to get someone to contact me back, and still cannot seem to get a hold of anyone at this company

4. Nearly a year later, they have yet to pay the claim AND the claim company has stopped working with them for a lack of communication

Here's our story..

My husband and I moved cross-country from CA to NC last December. I did a lot of research to find the right moving company because all of our belongings would be in the hands of the mover we chose. To say I am disappointed is an understatement.

First, we were CHARGED NEARLY DOUBLE the estimated quote. But, everything was already on the truck and no way to verify, so there wasn't much we could do. We could pay them to take everything off the truck, which would then also mess up all of our moving plans, or pay the new quoted amount.

The shipment arrived about 2 weeks later, but our queen mattress and box spring were not on the truck. However, the truck driver knew there was "a mattress" on the truck and proceeded to unstrap someone else's shipment. I told them it was definitely NOT OUR MATTRESS (foam vs. our spring mattress) and it was part of someone else's shipment!

Losing our mattress is only the beginning. The worst part was trying to get in touch with someone afterwards to get it settled. The truck driver was helpful in giving me a phone number to call. I called Robert, a company supervisor, initially when we realized it was missing and he said he would look at the warehouse in California. I NEVER HEARD BACK from him after that, even after calling him numerous times. My call was always put to voicemail and I'd get the same text back saying "Can't talk now. What's up?" I'd then proceed to text him back, asking for an update on our stuff, but never heard back from him.

Fully frustrated with the situation, I texted and called Michael, the sales rep who originally set up our move. He was extremely helpful from the start and looked into it for me. He also did not hear back from anyone, so he gave me a customer service email to try.

Finally, I heard back via email, they checked the warehouse and didn't find our mattress, so we had to file a claim through a service. The service then could only deal with the provided insurance (60 cents per lb).

The claim service took a few months of waiting, and finally, we signed the release and were to receive payment from the company. Now, nearly a year later, the company has yet to pay our settled claim. The claim service has even stopped working with this company due to a lack of response. The same exact issue we have had since we handed over our belongings to them.

I never would have expected a moving company to LOSE A MATTRESS. It was literally the largest item in our shipment, and will cost much more to replace than it did to ship in the first place. I understand we signed a contract, however, I think it's only fair to be reimbursed by the company for my items that were very obviously not on the truck. I paid to have something shipped, and it wasn't.

I am VERY DISAPPOINTED in the lack of communication and poor service I have received in trying to contact this company. Don't be fooled by the helpful sales reps, after the move the company will disown you and any issues you had with your move. Not only is this company UNPROFESSIONAL, but their behavior is completely unacceptable from any business.

You know it's bad when the only option left is to write a review. I really just wanted this dealt with the right way. If you're reading this, consider yourself WARNED.

Move size: Studio Service cost: $2846

Their salesman assured me they could do same day moving from new Jersey to pennsylvania, but AFTER everything was on the truck I was told it would be 48 hours until I even knew my delivery date, and 2 weeks later we still hadn't heard from them. It took dozens of phone calls and spending an extra 5000 dollars (3 times the original estimated cost of the move) just to finally get my stuff to me, and that only after lawyers got involved. This company is borderline criminal. Do not under any circumstances use them. Also 30% of my belongings were water damaged beyond salvation.

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: $8000

I was super anxious about my move as I was not only moving from state to state but moving to a high rise condo on Manhattan ..a new experience for me. Michael was my contact at Long Distance Relocation Group and he was wonderful and put up with my constant questions and requests and changes. I received a quote and after all was said and done that's what I paid..there were no hidden charges or additional add on charges that surprised me. The movers had some car trouble en route to pick up my belongings but despite showing up late they still did the entire pack and move and were very professional about it. On my move in all of my furniture was still in its original condition as they did a fantastic job wrapping everything. Unfortunately I'll likely be moving again in the next 1-2 years and I'll definitely use this company again.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $18000

Pricing: the guys were reasonably priced. they weren't the cheapest but also weren't the most expensive. we know that you get hat you pay for and felt for the price Long Distance Inc was probably the best value. they didn't have any hidden fees or surcharges either (the other companies probably id). so from a total cost perspective they were probably the cheapest. quality of service: the guys were very professional. I wasn't expecting guys to show up in tuxedos but also didn't want any questionable characters in my home. we have two young children so that was a concern of ours. there employees were friendly and professional. I was told they were a family company and that really showed. overall the value was great and the service was great .would recommend using Long Distance Inc .

I picked Long Distance Inc because they were able to answer questions without giving me the sales pitch. I talked to so many movers that sounded like the salesman who stand at the kiosks at the mall. they wouldn't stop calling! Larry at Long Distance Inc was professional and straight to the point. he explained to me why they were better and didn't waste his time down talking his competitors (like the rest of them do). everything went smooth from start to finish and it couldn't have made my life easier. moving is the worst; these guys made it a little more manageable.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $12600

Long Distance Inc hooked it up! these guys were great. I could definitely tell Bob had been doing this for a while. he answered every question throughly and got straight to the point. I hate pushy sales people which is ultimately how bob earned our business. no sales pitches no sales tactics just thorough and to the point. the guys who came to the home (Alex, abraham, and izzy) were great too. cool guys, reminded me of some of the guys I hangout with. got everything done in 4 hours. got my items in 6 days from start to finish. Good looks guys!

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: $4850

I've used several different moving companies being in the military. The first two of my five moves were coordinated directly by the military. the last 3 I found companies myself but always went with one of the big guys (allied or united). I came across a Long Distance Inc ad on the internet and decided to see what they were all about. the ad took me to some reviews and information about the company and I liked the fact that they were family owned and operated. my folks run a family business and they out perform all of their big name competitors so I was inclined to give Long Distance Inc a shot. I wasn’t let down. from start to finish you could tell they guys are both knowledgable and personable. they were always available when we had questions about packing and the price didn't go up on the day of the pick up. they were honest with us from start to finish. A lot of companies (especially movers) lose sight of that today. they don't put the customer first. Long Distance Inc ISN’T one of those guys. thanks Michael for all your help and hope to use you guys again (but hopefully I'm done moving for a while lol).

The radio jingles have probably been stuck in my head for 6 months! Naturally when I found out I was getting promoted at work and thus moving to san francisco I decided to give Long Distance Inc a call. the radio ad was for a 100$ packaging credit which was nice to have. I didn't have to pack my TVs which was nice because they're huge. the price was reasonable but what ultimately won my business over was 1. they are a local business and 2. because of how friendly they were. It’s nice to be able to leave the hard work that I don't want to do to the professionals. my overall ratings: Customer service- 10/10 these guys went above and beyond. I work in corporate finance where my hours can last all day. my items were to be picked up and held for 3 weeks before coming out to san fran. the only problem was that I was going to be working in san fran during those 3 weeks and was worried they wouldn't be there to answer the phones by the time I finally got home. chris gave me his cell phone number and told me not to hesitate calling after hours. this was great for me. I could call after work when it was 10pm on the east coast and still get answers. you don't get service like that anymore. Operations- 8/10 the guys on the ground were great. definitely very efficient and thorough. my items arrived with no scratches in the original condition I left them in. Pricing- 7/10 these guys weren't the cheapest quote I got but also not the most expensive. overall experience- 9/10.

My parents hired Long Distance Inc to move the last of my stuff from their home in CT to my house in wisconsin. from the beginning the representatives did a great job at coordinating everything between my parents and I. you’d be surprised how hard it can be for us all to get the time to go over everything together (especially being in different states). Sammy did great at keeping us all on the same page. I personally wasn't at the pick up but my parents said the guys were nice and weren't sketchy. the delivery went smooth. I had specific requirements for delivery because I live in a high rise and had to reserve elevator time. their driver was good about giving me both 48 and 24 hour notices and arrived within 15 minutes of his scheduled arrival time. they loaded everything into the apartment and after buying the guys lunch they offered to help me hang TVs free of charge. great service. my parents don't know how to use the internet but promised Sammy they'd write a review so here I am! thanks guys.
