I can't express enough of the excellent service I received when working with Jake's Moving. They were responsive to our need for next day moving and provided excellent customer service in assessing our needs and providing a quotation and explaining their services. The movers were totally professional, polite, and prepared and wrapped all items in the house. The load and unload went smoothly. I cannot image that we could have done better with any other company. I hired Jakes Moving and Storage for a local move in VA. From the very beginning to the very end of the process, they were so courteous, friendly and kind. They explained to me the entire process upfront. Everything that I needed to know very straight forward, honest folks..I loved that about them!!…they haven’t “Saved” on any details! They worked efficiently and made sure all of my belongings were protected. They performed the work with the utmost professionalism. I’m very pleased with the outcome, considering the ongoing stress I’ve been through weeks prior to this move. Jake’s Moving and Storage, turned my situation around and made me feel at ease. We found ourselves in a situation that required a last minute, emergency move in Washington DC. Jake's Moving and Storage manager, John's patience and professionalism in helping us sort out our options and accommodating our complicated needs was fantastic. The moving team was assembled and arrived in a few hours, and were also incredibly accommodating and efficient and undaunted by the mess. They were organized and managed to get everything packed, loaded ,and moved into storage in under 6 hours.

We used Jake's to move furniture, on fairly short notice, and they were exceptional. I worked with John on all the pre-planning and he answered all of my questions in a thorough and professional manner. He made me feel very confident that we made the right decision to choose them for our move, and John met our compressed timeline to complete the move. When the three (3) men arrived, on time, on the day of the move, they assessed the contents and then got right to work, wrapping our furniture in an efficient and safe manner, so that our contents were well-protected and for their safety when moving the furniture. The men were very pleasant and proficient throughout the few hours we spent with them. There were no surprises or issues during the move and I would definitely use Jake's Moving in the future and would recommend them for their moving services.

The company we had scheduled to do our move did not show up. I called Jake's Moving and Storage and they had a team there in 3hours. The movers were amazing. I had never hired a moving company before and now I will never move without one. They were well worth the money. They had boxes and helped pack things I had missed. They wrapped all the furniture and TV's, were careful not to break or damage anything. They even moved items from the attic and garage. I would highly recommend Jake's Moving and Storage to anyone that's planning a move.

We had a great experience with Jake's Moving and Storage with the "all inclusive price". We hired them to move approx 10,000 pounds of self packed boxes, furniture, and odds and ends that they packed for us in a 27ft truck. I can't describe how hard the three movers worked all day and got the job done. They were efficient, kind, professional and had a great work ethic.
When we contacted Jake's, John helped us with estimating what we needed. We thought we might need two trucks. John had us send him pictures and assured us we only needed one truck. It was perfect and saved us money.

I was in a full on panic when I was two weeks from my xState move and still had not finalized my moving plans. From the moment we spoke with the representatives at Jake's, I knew we were in good hands. Their all-inclusive pricing was beyond fair, and very competitive against their competitors. I self-packed, but the team made sure to protect all of my furniture and secured all my fragile items. The overall move on either side was very short, and the team was extremely efficient. As someone who has moved at least 20 times in 45 years, I should be equipped to handle moves. It really does not get easier. The stress invariably creeps in.
Choosing Jake's for my local move, that included a period of storage, was a good decision. They worked well with and for me through a number of date changes. When I ended up relocating to a smaller home than initially anticipated, Jake's was able to help me dispose of items that I could not move-in with. I was very satisfied with consultations, packing, storage, delivery, the professionalism of crew and courtesies extended. All in all, Jake's made this move easier than expected for me.

Excellent customer care. From the first call to helping make the timeline.. every person was excellent communicator. The salesman provided superior support and explain the pricing and helped me pick the plan that made the most sense. He was extremely responsive and that is so rare. The team lead for the move was extraordinarily professional and helped me knock out a hard move with kindness and efficiency.

Day of move. Perfect at time management! The crew was the hardest working people I have experienced in any trade in decades. They maximized every second! My fine furniture was truly taken care of while they made sure the whole household was addressed.

I was so impressed and they took a stressful event and showed me why you need a good company to make it a good situation.

I like that Jake’s Moving and Storage is family owned and operated. I spoke with John three or four times before moving. I had questions and then I had some anxiety over the move. John reassured me about his movers and his foreman. If I had any questions that day, my foreman would know how to help me. They were awesome. Packed everything very well. I was very nervous about moving an heirloom, a 200 year old wall mirror. They packed it so well and handled it so well, I had no worries. My sister referred me to Jake's Moving and Storage. I checked out her link and was very pleased to find they also have a long-term storage plan. I called and spoke with John, the general manager, and was quite impressed. All my questions were answered, all of my requests met, and a date was made for the move. Then the lock-down hit! John, the general manager was wonderful! We made alternative arrangements and he made it possible for me to stay at home and not have to travel. He met every need I had. The move went off exactly as planned, the movers were polite and efficient. wore PPE, and I couldn't be happier with everyone that made this possible. I highly recommend Jake's.

Every moment of my experience with this company was 5 stars. My contact at the business, John, did a wonderful job advising me on the move and answering my questions. After several phone calls (I was indecisive) and a detailed description of my move, he advised me to hire 3 movers for 3 hours, and they finished in exactly that time frame. I had them pack, load, and unload my household goods from the 3rd floor into a storage unit.

Even in my small bedroom, they worked like a well oiled machine! Very efficient and careful with all of my things. My previous movers struggled for 10+ minutes to get a heavy wood desk through a door frame - these guys? Did it on the first try like a piece of cake! The whole time they were extremely polite, and I appreciated that they arrived with their own masks as I was moving during the pandemic. I was extremely impressed and plan to hire them again in the future.

I contacted Jake's, my one and only call to a mover, after recommendation from a very particular friend who brought them 100 miles one way from DC to do a local rural move. After speaking with John at Jake's, I accepted the quote. I appreciated the "all inclusive" pricing and thought the price was fair, based on other moves I've done. I was very pleased with the service for my 100 mile move which was done in 6 hours. The movers showed up early, were professional, courteous and really hustled. I highly recommend.

I used Jake's Moving Co for my move from Maryland to Kentucky. I had never moved interstate before. I found John at Jake's after already contacting several local and large interstate movers and feeling totally discouraged and frustrated. John was patient, answered my questions, returned my calls timely, and explained everything in detail. He put up with my sometimes redundant questions. We decided on Jake's for the following reasons which made them completely stand out from all other out of state movers:

1. Locked in price - we did an inventory, a price was set, and it did not change. Every other company was going to nickel and dime us either for final rate or final square footage. I had more piece of mind knowing what I was paying and not getting a suprise.

2. Good and fast communication

3. WE HAD OUR OWN TRUCK! No other company offered this. Everyone else was putting our stuff in storage and transferring it to a truck with other peoples stuff, I appreciated my things not getting mixed with other peoples it made me feel that it was more secure.

4. Speediest delivery. I was quoted 7-21 days by every other moving company for delivery date. Jakes quoted me 24-48 hrs from requested delivery date, they arrived exactly when I had hoped and we had our stuff immediately.

5. No shuttle! Other companies wanted me to pay for a shuttle since a tractor trailer could not fit down my street. With Jakes our own (26 ft truck) was brought to my house and my stuff stayed on it.

We had the same movers in MD and KY which was great because we were familiar with them. They wrapped our items well and nothing was damaged.

I am so happy with how our move went. John helped take a huge stress off of me. I highly recommend for your interstate move- I called literally every other company in MD and no one else came close to providing the above, save yourself time and call up John and his team today.

I was totally impressed by the prompt and timely response I received from John after making the first call. His

Professionalism and mannerism were palpable from the first hello.

The quote was quick, fairly reasonable, and did not change at pickup.

Simon and his moving team were swift and very artful in executing their duty.

Even though there was a bit of delay in their proposed arrival time, their exceptional workmanship, professionalism and courtesy overshadowed that. Simon also kept me abreast of the setback and traffic situation enroute.

Finally, I was awed by the ease with which they lifted and transported extremely heavy items without any damage to walls. Delivery was flawless-- nothing damaged. Overall, they're pros at their craft.

Jakes Moving & Storage was an excellent company to work with. John, the General Manager, answered all my questions prior to the move of my elderly mother. The crew was on time and took extra care in wrapping her furniture. They were flexible, considering the larger elevator was out of order, but they still worked quickly and efficiently. They were kind and courteous and made my mom feel very at ease. I had called 4 moving companies to get an estimate, and Jakes was the only company that returned my call and on the same day. I believe they gave a fair price for the move. I would highly recommend using Jakes for your next move!

Jake's Moving and Storage was excellent! I was moving out of state and needed a company to pack all of my heavy/large furniture and load it into Uhaul trucks. I hired a 3 person team. They arrived on time and followed all of my instructions. They were very professional and extremely nice. They had a positive attitude and were friendly and upbeat the entire time! They wrapped and moved my extremely heavy antique wood furniture without an issue. Very impressive. They made the process stress-free.

I also had them carry about 150 heavy boxes up from my basement and load them into a truck. They were quick and efficient. They followed all of my instructions about keeping certain boxes upright, not stacking things on certain boxes, etc.

Upon unloading/unpacking (after driving everything 400 miles away) I was very pleased to discover nothing had broken!

This company is excellent! If you want friendly and professional movers, this is the company!

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $900

Cannot recommend them! After about an hour on the phone and even providing room/ house pictures to the estimator, I can only assume they intentionally underbid the move to get my business and then charged me way more (in my case double) on the day. They require cash or bank check the day of services but since they were totally wrong in their estimate, we did not have the cash so they also charged us a 5% service charge to pay by credit card. Interesting, as to the unpacking, we dismissed the guys earlier saying we would do the majority of the unpacking ourselves but there was no savings or discount as now it was a flat fee, not hourly for the unpacking, only the packing end. Several items were damaged in the move but the worse was that their packers thought it was ok to stack in one box artwork/pictures without anything in between - no protection as backs of frames sat rubbing on fronts of other pieces causing damage. When I brought this to management's attention, they were rude and were all to happy to inform me that their liability was capped at $50 and I should have gotten extra insurance (read their fine print). They have no incentive to use more and proper packing materials since that cuts into their profit and since they do not have to worry about much liability. I am very unhappy.
