Bad move

Hired 3 men to move a china cabinet, large dining room table and several other pieces. I watched the a mover step on a leg and snapped it off this $3600.00 dinette set. All items were put into a storage unit. 2 weeks later to get items out saw a 2nd leg was broken off and none of the movers ever mentioned it to me. I even gave them a nice tip. Left a few messages with company to have a manager call me but of course no one did. Bad business, take the money and run. Plus they nickel and dime you on every blanket and piece of cardboard they use. And yet they make you feel good by saying your items are insured. Filed a claim weeks ago heard nothing back and yes I called twice. Will never use again.

Absolute theives

I had a small move which required less than an hour to load and be gone. I was not given a copy of anything when the men left other than half a papertowel with the $900 charge written on it. They did not tell me there was a 4 hour minimum despite the fact that I told the guy when I called I had very little. They did not tell me they then charge an additional 20% 20%!!!! " "fuel surcharge" in addition to their 4 hour minimum.

They told me my unit would cost $100 to access.

I called today to come and get my possessions.

Oh, it's $400. The way the person talked, it was very clear they have these conversations multiple times a day

If you have these issues with GG, don't just write a complaint here - call the Florida AG at 866-966-7226 and file a fraud complaint under the Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act. Then call the BBB and file a complaint. I already did. And post your review everywhere. Google, Yelp, TikTok - Everywhere!

Good Greek Moving and Storage West Palm Beach

I had the worst experience with this moving company! I moved from West Palm Beach to Spring Hill Florida and I spent over $12000. I ended up with numerous broken an missing items. I paid for the insurance, but apparently that did nothing for me. I contacted them repeatedly and they would just keep transferring me to different employees. I finally asked for my contract information, which I never received initially, and they sent me someone else's contract with a similar name who had moved from Delray Beach to Deerfield Beach, who's move was about $1500. I contacted the lady, and we were both horrified that they sent me all of her information. I averaged out my loss to be around $1200, I included photos and did everything they asked for my claim. They, then informed me they would send me a check for a pittance of $250, which they never even sent! They are the worst company EVER! I am a senior citizen, and I do believe they prey on seniors. They also use false advertisements. They say that all their movers are licensed, insured and bonded. That's a huge lie! Three out of 4 of my movers told me they had only been in America for 3 days from Colombia. It definitely takes longer than 3 days to be bonded and background checked! This company most definitely needs to be investigated. Very angry, ripped off customer, who doesn't know who to turn to for compensation.

Long-distance move from Florida to South Carolina

Held Our Furniture Hostage Until We Paid More Money

We signed an agreement to move our belongings on February 26 for a total cost of $6,000, after representative surveyed our home furnishings. The day before the move their rep called to confirm and said they were bringing an "18 wheel truck". They showed up with a 26' truck and after carefully packing it as tight as they could (the team leader's words), not all of our belongings would fit. They said another truck would come and get the rest, later that day. We stressed that our home sale required we vacate the home that day. After waiting several hours and approaching 7 PM, we received a call from Good Greek headquarters staff, saying that before they would come and get our remaining belongings, we must sign an addendum to our contract, agreeing to pay an additional $1,750 and saying the problem something we caused. We complained about the added charge and insisted we did nothing to cause the problem. In fact, before the loading started and while it was partly loaded, both times I asked the team leader if all of our belongings were going to fit. He replied that they would. Eventually, he acknowledged another truck would be required. We believe that Good Greek Movers took improper advantage of our plight, and instead of making good on the contract for $6,000, held us hostage and made us pay an additional $1,750 to move all of our belongings. They eventually did move all of our belongings to our new home in South Carolina, the first truckload on February 29 and the remainder on March 4.

Worse movers ever

This has been the most horrific experience with moving that we have had in our life. We have relocated multiple times for various reasons (military, job relocation, etc.) Four of our moves were overseas and they ran smoothly compared to the one with Good Greek Moving.

The following is a partial list of Good Greek Moving mistakes and foul-ups:

1. The packing job was unprofessional: mislabeled boxes or not labeled at all. Using wardrobe boxes to pack books and heavy items (could not move these boxes anywhere as needed.) Items were combined randomly: bathroom items with kitchen items, clothes with garage items, etc.

2. The packing crew claimed they ran out of boxes and the person who came over to meet us for the quote (Hector) misrepresented the job.

3. The crew left a lot behind, from rugs to kitchen items, chairs, etc. Good thing it was a local move and we have done several trips in our Ford Expedition to get the remainder that was left behind.

4. I was quoted to include items to be moved like planters and the pool table. The packing crew refused to move them and when I called Hector during the move, he sounded surprised (he wrote down in his notes that those items had to be moved. At the end, they did not move the items.)

5. The on the job moving crew manager was rude and condescending: complaining that we had too much stuff for them to pack (they packed everything in 6 hours and I had only one bedroom set, one dining room and part of a living room.) At the end of the packing day, he couldn't get through to the office (no answer) to verify I made the payment (he was always stressing out about the money part of the move,) and he said they were not going to show up the following day if the payment had not been made (when I had stated several times that I had made the payment and talked to the office already to verify.) For some reason, he assumed I lied all the time.

I want to add that the reason we hired Good Greek Moving for the move was because we thought that by being the official movers of a lot of the major sports teams in Florida (our daughter is a Junior at the University of Miami,) they had a good reputation.

This review will be forwarded to the University of Miami Chancellor and Athletic Department.

Furthermore we have tried to communicate our disappointment and complaints to Hector (the point of contact who originally met and quoted us the move,) but he said he would get back to us to make things right, but he never did.

DISHONEST, UNETHICAL THIEVES!! STAY AWAY

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS... THEY ARE UNETHITCAL, DISHONEST SCUMBAGS! $3,500 in add-on charges and fees to move 1 bedroom apartment with 5 pieces of furniture + boxes to new apartment less than 3 miles away.

To say we had an awful experience with Good Greek is an understatement. Do not pay attention to these 5 star reviews... Just look at their Yelp reviews (screenshot attached). We were misinformed and ripped off when we used their services for our move last month. Here's a rundown of what happened: We originally booked Piece of Cake Movers to move us out of a 1 bedroom apartment in Brickell to our new condo in downtown Miami. The price was hard to beat - $950 for them to pack us up and move us. We had very few pieces of furniture to move - 1 bed frame and king mattress, 1 TV, 1 desk/desk chair/small filing cabinet, 3 bar stools, wardrobes and an average # of boxes you'd expect to come out of a 1 bedroom apartment. We junked our couch, bedroom dresser & nightstands.

Unfortunately Piece of Cake cancelled on us early morning of our move because they "overbooked and didn't have trucks available." We were in a crunch and Good Greek was one of 10 companies I called in a frenzy to move us. I communicated the time we had to be moved out and into the new place before the new building's 4:30 pm move-in cut off time. They reassured me this wouldn't be a problem and said the men would be finished in time given the limited # of furniture and items we discussed. They asked for a $900 deposit up-front which would cover 4 hours of move time, mileage to and from their warehouse and other bogus fees. Any additional hours were to be charged separately and on top of this $900. The movers themselves were helpful and careful with the furniture. However, they made it to the new building right at 5 pm. The new building has strict rules and refused to let Good Greek move my furniture in. I immediately called Danny @ Good Greek to let him know what happened. I was informed there would be an additional $1,100 in charges to move us in the following day which included a $500 overnight charge to keep our things on the truck. Good Greek customer service was unwavering and completely inflexible to make any concessions on price due to their delay meeting the new building's deadline. I was in sticker shock but felt held hostage because there was nothing I could do... I was at their mercy with all of my belongings in their possession. The next day Good Greek came back and finished the move into our new apartment which took a bit less than 2 hours. It was quick. I was expecting to receive a final bill of $2K that I planned on addressing with Good Greek, but instead the final bill was just shy of $3,500!! It included duplicate charges (gas /hours on the road in addition to mileage they charge you as part of their hourly rate) and thousands of dollars worth of extras that were never mentioned or addressed earlier. How could this be for a 1 bedroom apartment with less than 5 piece of furniture? This was dishonest, scummy and unethical. The story gets better... I call their customer service to discuss my concerns. Not only was the woman I spoke with not understanding, compassionate or sympathetic... The timestamps she referenced for charging us were all out of whack and I called her out with proof that the movers came/left at specific times. She stated all their moving trucks have cameras in the trucks and some of the movers have cameras on them, then discredited herself by saying she sees the movers went to lunch and took a break to/from their warehouse and would be crediting me $100. Had I not called her and said anything, they would've charge me for their employee's breaks. She showed 0 remorse, gave me attitude and refused to credit me. I called my credit company shortly after to dispute the charges with proof of arrival/departure timestamps. Citi Bank told me they receive MANY complaints and disputes from Good Greek. DO NOT hire or trust this disgrace of a company.

Overall Great Experience

I employed Good Greek Moving to help with a move to our new home in mid-February. The positives: Terie was most helpful in scheduling my move so it went smoothly and ensured all our needs were met before the big day. The movers were fantastic. They were all engaging and efficient in helping with my move. Their work ethic was fabulous.

The concerns are my advice to inquire about before hiring: (1) I was not advised that when the movers wrapped my furniture in blankets for protection before loading onto the truck would result in additional charges for the tape they used to secure the blankets. I was told shortly before transporting to my new location that there would be a charge for three rolls of tape. The preliminary invoice read that tape rolls were $6 each; however on the final invoice for “Basic Materials”— I was billed for $75. (2) Emails throughout the process were responded to quickly, except AFTER the move with two concerns. No response was received for either email. One issue was remedied when I found the item in question I mistakenly thought may have been left on the truck. Only when I notified Good Greek I found the items did I receive an immediate response. The other was an inquiry on the Welcome Home Kit advertised on their site and various ads that I would receive if I used their services—no response. I also inquired on their Facebook page about the kit which received a reply it would be sent. To date, it has still not been received.

Overall, I had a great experience with the move and my review should be seen as a positive.

Find another Mover

I agree with a lot of the other reviews and it sounds like a similar experience. Under quoted on hours and overall price, plus our move and storage got worse. Many broken items with a small reimbursement and Good Greek lost hardware on many of our items such as night stands, etc.. You can find a much better mover at a lower price. We won't make this mistake again. We also filed with the BBB.

Stolen items.

I walked in on one of the movers going thru my mothers pocketbook. I immediately took the pocketbook and addressed the issue with the mover in charge. The worker apologized and denied that he was going thru it. Then, upon delivery (8 miles) one of my medium sized packed up containers (rubber tub) was missing. They had no idea what happened to it. They remembered it because it was pink and on a high shelf but it did not arrive at my new place. I immediately returned to look for it and it was not there. I contacted the supervisor and was told that I probably hadn't found it yet, it is probably there. Hasn't ever been located.

Worst Move Ever.

Several of my items are broken and chipped. We are missing a large box clearly marked DVD'S and Movies. I have called Greek movers 3 times and all I am told is that they will talk to crew and check warehouse for box again. There are over 100 movies and DVD's in that box. Wedding cake topper broken in half and it was marked fragile, GLASS. That can't be replaced! Only pay 60 cents on the dollar value for things broken!! Stay away from this company! Held my stuff for ransome until I paid additional money for move.

Long-distance move from Florida to Texas

Re: move Fl. to TX.

I was given a 2-14 day window (clearly written on signed contract) for Greek Moving and Storage to move my house from Palm Beach Fl. to Texas within that time frame as it was not a direct move. The window of time ran out BEFORE Hurricane Harvey and Irma. Rest assured Zach and his circus crew promised move was on schedule back in August with clear skies. A hurricane delays any move but it was used as the impetus to let my whole house sit in storage. "Oh people have things in our air-conditioned storage for years," Zach says. Really? My whole house and clothes and child's clothes should sit in storage for over 30 days in cardboard boxes. No one does that unless they are leaving junk in storage. So Zach and A.J. and Chuck proceeded to say their "boss" John has no number to reach by when asking for minimal compensation for the delayed move. They do not know not only how to reach their boss but his phone number too? Der I mean duh talk about "ignorance is bliss", they got that "fairy tale" patented. Zach proceeded to insist he will "call me back" and that he is scheduling 3 moves to Texas all together.

Every day with perfect weather abound, Zach would let me know when they were leaving. Zach upon seeing that "we are scheduling your trip and will call you back" routine was not working said he would let me know about issuing a credit when I told him that something should be accounted for. A reasonable accommodation is what I stated clearly to him. Instead, Zach waited the day of the move to drop the ax and stated that he never said that and his boss will not approve anything. Shady dealing and very deceptive.

Meanwhile, sleeping on the floor and eating without a table for over a month with my 4 year old is common place for Zach. My whole life's possession can sit in mildewed damp-ridden cardboard boxes because after 30 days it's ok because it's in storage.

Oh, and cramming in 4 moves, that's right 4 houses including mine in a hot box crammed moving van is ok because after all they are on Greek Moving and Storage's timetable. Zach has no understanding of the value of sleeping on a bed and eating on a table. I could have purchased basic needs and asked for a reimbursement as many said it's a given if the move was promised and to no avail, however, knowing the run around circus at hand, that would be futile. Any decent human being has said get on them. Call them every day.

There was no delay weather wise. Apparently hurricanes Harvey and Irma were here August 18, 2017 and lasted for over 30 days. No one was asking to leave in inclement weather but Zach forgot one thing. The only wind that was a blowing away was the lies he was breezing by me and could not keep up with. Zach also proceeded to tell me that it was not his fault the weather. It is not the customer's fault about the weather Zach. There was no issue when you had 2 weeks to not hold my house ransom at your convenience and blame the "weather". The customer is always right and you are providing a service so you improvise and compromise neither of which was done.
I purchased basics such as an air bed and some clothing. Reasonable accommodations would be to take care of added expenses of which could have been avoided or issued a credit for the days outside the stated contract window. Instead, I was at the mercy of my house in a hotbox upon delivery and paid in full.

The fact that I had to call and be at the mercy of an apathetic, unprofessional and idiotic circus moving crew of which Greek Moving and Storage is was pure disgust. I received NO return of calls even after things went missing and the headboard on a bed was placed on backwards. I was told by the mover that they had to leave even though I asked to check on some missing items they boxed up. He said, "if anything is missing they will take care of." I know, you are laughing too at that one, because you know Greek Moving and Storage wants to pay you for your belongings! Oh sure, a defaulted .60 cents a pound clause. (Very small print on contract so customer beware) I might be able to buy a Happy meal with that nevermind replace valuables. I found items, however I called to let their office know at the time when things were missing and found and well, you can guess by now, that's right, NO call. The next day for follow-up of move I received NO call as would be customary with any good business practice. They took the money and run instead.

I was told by A.J. that the move could be credited and it was up to Zach or even himself but needs approval but then Zach could issue. Talk about wishy washy answer and of course he promised a call back the next day. Can you take a guess? NO call, ding, ding, ding!

I was told I was too nice in dealing with Greek Moving and Storage of West Palm Beach, however when someone has your house what choice do you have? I stated to A.J. is it worth the bad review and further action I could take on seeing the boxes get crushed with breakables and lifelong items of value being tossed about and being delayed over a month? Zach had total disregard for my situation with a 4 year old who could not even have a bed or table to eat at. I guess that's why Zach gets to sit in the office now because he said his moving days are over (shocker!) and he has moved up to "office". It's a good place for him aptly so, although he does not deserve to be in charge of a telephone of which is foreign to him.

Zach gets to hide himself from seeing real people and a 4 year old that does not know why their house is not here yet and with their life long earned possessions waiting for his release. I would give 0 stars but it defaults to 1 star.

I cannot tell you how professional this company is and what a tremendous job these four hard working guys did for us! I had "a lot" to move and they could not have been more accommodating.
Everything was moved with the utmost care and done in a very timely manner. We were actually shocked on how hard and efficiently they worked.. They actually went above and beyond things we didn't ask for or expect. All four of them were so pleasant to work with and I would highly recommend this company.

Smooth Move.

From the moment we met with Richie at our home for the guaranteed estimate, we knew we were in good hands. Was Greek the least expensive quote we received? No, but the quality, professionalism, and peace of mind was well worth every penny. The closing on our house was pushed back a week and with one short call to Richie our moving date was changed.

When Alex and his exceptional crew showed up the morning of the move, they were friendly and very professional. They respected our property, moved everything with care. Packed our TV and pictures perfectly. In 2 and a half hours had out 2nd floor condo and storage unit on the road to our new home.

Upon arrival at our new home (250 miles away) Alex and his crew unloaded everything with the same care and professionalism as when the loaded. Everything was put in it's place and arrived intact and unharmed.

We highly recommend Greek Moving & Storage and will be advising all of our family and friends who are in need of a moving service to consider no one else.
