Move from Boca to Miami

Excellent experience in getting my daughter moved from Boca to Miami. Had a great three-man crew led by Stanley who was excellent. The truck was brand new. They did a great job getting everything packed up and loaded.. The guys worked quickly and efficiently. Got down to Miami. Got my daughter all loaded up to the 33rd floor. Total time seven hours that included a 1 Hour Dr. to Miami. From calling in to get a quote and schedule the move. I had an excellent experience with everyone I was in contact with including customer service. They diligently followed up on all the details. They arrived precisely on time on the morning of the move. Best moving experience I have ever had.

Outstanding Experience

We just had Mojica, Falcon, German, and Pena pack up and move us out of a condo into a storage unit. They arrived on time and were extremely efficient with packing, loading and unloading. There were all very professional and had a positive attitude. The reservation process and billing was also easy. The customer service was excellent overall. I highly recommend this team for your moving needs.

Held Our Furniture Hostage Until We Paid More Money

We signed an agreement to move our belongings on February 26 for a total cost of $6,000, after representative surveyed our home furnishings. The day before the move their rep called to confirm and said they were bringing an "18 wheel truck". They showed up with a 26' truck and after carefully packing it as tight as they could (the team leader's words), not all of our belongings would fit. They said another truck would come and get the rest, later that day. We stressed that our home sale required we vacate the home that day. After waiting several hours and approaching 7 PM, we received a call from Good Greek headquarters staff, saying that before they would come and get our remaining belongings, we must sign an addendum to our contract, agreeing to pay an additional $1,750 and saying the problem something we caused. We complained about the added charge and insisted we did nothing to cause the problem. In fact, before the loading started and while it was partly loaded, both times I asked the team leader if all of our belongings were going to fit. He replied that they would. Eventually, he acknowledged another truck would be required. We believe that Good Greek Movers took improper advantage of our plight, and instead of making good on the contract for $6,000, held us hostage and made us pay an additional $1,750 to move all of our belongings. They eventually did move all of our belongings to our new home in South Carolina, the first truckload on February 29 and the remainder on March 4.

Worse movers ever

This has been the most horrific experience with moving that we have had in our life. We have relocated multiple times for various reasons (military, job relocation, etc.) Four of our moves were overseas and they ran smoothly compared to the one with Good Greek Moving.

The following is a partial list of Good Greek Moving mistakes and foul-ups:

1. The packing job was unprofessional: mislabeled boxes or not labeled at all. Using wardrobe boxes to pack books and heavy items (could not move these boxes anywhere as needed.) Items were combined randomly: bathroom items with kitchen items, clothes with garage items, etc.

2. The packing crew claimed they ran out of boxes and the person who came over to meet us for the quote (Hector) misrepresented the job.

3. The crew left a lot behind, from rugs to kitchen items, chairs, etc. Good thing it was a local move and we have done several trips in our Ford Expedition to get the remainder that was left behind.

4. I was quoted to include items to be moved like planters and the pool table. The packing crew refused to move them and when I called Hector during the move, he sounded surprised (he wrote down in his notes that those items had to be moved. At the end, they did not move the items.)

5. The on the job moving crew manager was rude and condescending: complaining that we had too much stuff for them to pack (they packed everything in 6 hours and I had only one bedroom set, one dining room and part of a living room.) At the end of the packing day, he couldn't get through to the office (no answer) to verify I made the payment (he was always stressing out about the money part of the move,) and he said they were not going to show up the following day if the payment had not been made (when I had stated several times that I had made the payment and talked to the office already to verify.) For some reason, he assumed I lied all the time.

I want to add that the reason we hired Good Greek Moving for the move was because we thought that by being the official movers of a lot of the major sports teams in Florida (our daughter is a Junior at the University of Miami,) they had a good reputation.

This review will be forwarded to the University of Miami Chancellor and Athletic Department.

Furthermore we have tried to communicate our disappointment and complaints to Hector (the point of contact who originally met and quoted us the move,) but he said he would get back to us to make things right, but he never did.

DISHONEST, UNETHICAL THIEVES!! STAY AWAY

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS... THEY ARE UNETHITCAL, DISHONEST SCUMBAGS! $3,500 in add-on charges and fees to move 1 bedroom apartment with 5 pieces of furniture + boxes to new apartment less than 3 miles away.

To say we had an awful experience with Good Greek is an understatement. Do not pay attention to these 5 star reviews... Just look at their Yelp reviews (screenshot attached). We were misinformed and ripped off when we used their services for our move last month. Here's a rundown of what happened: We originally booked Piece of Cake Movers to move us out of a 1 bedroom apartment in Brickell to our new condo in downtown Miami. The price was hard to beat - $950 for them to pack us up and move us. We had very few pieces of furniture to move - 1 bed frame and king mattress, 1 TV, 1 desk/desk chair/small filing cabinet, 3 bar stools, wardrobes and an average # of boxes you'd expect to come out of a 1 bedroom apartment. We junked our couch, bedroom dresser & nightstands.

Unfortunately Piece of Cake cancelled on us early morning of our move because they "overbooked and didn't have trucks available." We were in a crunch and Good Greek was one of 10 companies I called in a frenzy to move us. I communicated the time we had to be moved out and into the new place before the new building's 4:30 pm move-in cut off time. They reassured me this wouldn't be a problem and said the men would be finished in time given the limited # of furniture and items we discussed. They asked for a $900 deposit up-front which would cover 4 hours of move time, mileage to and from their warehouse and other bogus fees. Any additional hours were to be charged separately and on top of this $900. The movers themselves were helpful and careful with the furniture. However, they made it to the new building right at 5 pm. The new building has strict rules and refused to let Good Greek move my furniture in. I immediately called Danny @ Good Greek to let him know what happened. I was informed there would be an additional $1,100 in charges to move us in the following day which included a $500 overnight charge to keep our things on the truck. Good Greek customer service was unwavering and completely inflexible to make any concessions on price due to their delay meeting the new building's deadline. I was in sticker shock but felt held hostage because there was nothing I could do... I was at their mercy with all of my belongings in their possession. The next day Good Greek came back and finished the move into our new apartment which took a bit less than 2 hours. It was quick. I was expecting to receive a final bill of $2K that I planned on addressing with Good Greek, but instead the final bill was just shy of $3,500!! It included duplicate charges (gas /hours on the road in addition to mileage they charge you as part of their hourly rate) and thousands of dollars worth of extras that were never mentioned or addressed earlier. How could this be for a 1 bedroom apartment with less than 5 piece of furniture? This was dishonest, scummy and unethical. The story gets better... I call their customer service to discuss my concerns. Not only was the woman I spoke with not understanding, compassionate or sympathetic... The timestamps she referenced for charging us were all out of whack and I called her out with proof that the movers came/left at specific times. She stated all their moving trucks have cameras in the trucks and some of the movers have cameras on them, then discredited herself by saying she sees the movers went to lunch and took a break to/from their warehouse and would be crediting me $100. Had I not called her and said anything, they would've charge me for their employee's breaks. She showed 0 remorse, gave me attitude and refused to credit me. I called my credit company shortly after to dispute the charges with proof of arrival/departure timestamps. Citi Bank told me they receive MANY complaints and disputes from Good Greek. DO NOT hire or trust this disgrace of a company.

Overall Great Experience

I employed Good Greek Moving to help with a move to our new home in mid-February. The positives: Terie was most helpful in scheduling my move so it went smoothly and ensured all our needs were met before the big day. The movers were fantastic. They were all engaging and efficient in helping with my move. Their work ethic was fabulous.

The concerns are my advice to inquire about before hiring: (1) I was not advised that when the movers wrapped my furniture in blankets for protection before loading onto the truck would result in additional charges for the tape they used to secure the blankets. I was told shortly before transporting to my new location that there would be a charge for three rolls of tape. The preliminary invoice read that tape rolls were $6 each; however on the final invoice for “Basic Materials”— I was billed for $75. (2) Emails throughout the process were responded to quickly, except AFTER the move with two concerns. No response was received for either email. One issue was remedied when I found the item in question I mistakenly thought may have been left on the truck. Only when I notified Good Greek I found the items did I receive an immediate response. The other was an inquiry on the Welcome Home Kit advertised on their site and various ads that I would receive if I used their services—no response. I also inquired on their Facebook page about the kit which received a reply it would be sent. To date, it has still not been received.

Overall, I had a great experience with the move and my review should be seen as a positive.

Find another Mover

I agree with a lot of the other reviews and it sounds like a similar experience. Under quoted on hours and overall price, plus our move and storage got worse. Many broken items with a small reimbursement and Good Greek lost hardware on many of our items such as night stands, etc.. You can find a much better mover at a lower price. We won't make this mistake again. We also filed with the BBB.

Long-distance move from Davenport, FL to Waxhaw, NC

The absolute worse experience ever

Having used this company to move from Florida to North Carolina we were horrified to see the amount of damage to our furniture and possessions on the day that the removal truck was unloaded. Damage included an office desk that was completely destroyed to the point that it was in pieces, with the contents left in the drawers and strewn all over the floor of the removal truck. Also, a three-seater leather sofa that had a hole ripped into the side of it, a tv cabinet where one of the glass doors was missing, damaged bedside cabinet with hole pushed through the top, broken china, broken linen baskets, broken stainless steel kitchen trash can. Furniture was stacked upside down in the van and when the movers tried to unload a bedroom dresser, all of the contents inside had not been packed and were left loose and were displaced everywhere. In addition to the substantial damages, they had lost all of the fittings to another bedroom set and were unable to put it back together on delivery. The movers reassembled a dining table which was left so unstable that nothing could be put on top. All that was required was to tighten the screws which they had not been bothered to do. How I wish I had chosen another company to have completed the move. And now some two months on, they have only just apologized for any inconvenience!
