Gave us a 3-day window and the movers would call us one day prior to moving. What do they expect? Pack everything and wait for their call for 3 days? When the guy called us initially he told us they will be moving our house on the day we requested. Our initial contract says moving on that particular day. We had booked flight tickets for the entire family. But the revised contract later shows a 3-day window period. When we called today they said the movers will only call the day before and not anytime sooner. How can they not have control over who their moving partners are? Moving a house is not an easy process and families need proper planning. They would not tell us when the movers are going to call us.

This was the absolute worst experience I’ve ever dealt with. I spoke with a guy named Ryan Summit at the very beginning. He seemed great and helped relieve some of my stress about moving. He quoted my move around $6,200 and told me the movers would arrive on Sunday/Monday. Well come Sunday and Monday… no movers. The movers didn’t arrive until Wednesday!!! Ryan immediately stopped replying to my calls and emails. He was a complete fraud coming off so nice and helpful and then cut off communication. I moved from WA to TX and closed on my house before the movers arrived so now I had to pack all my stuff up AGAIN and rent a Uhaul and a storage unit for one night. Gold Standard told me to send them the receipts and they will reimburse me for the costs. I’ve emailed, called, nothing. They won’t follow through with their word.

When the movers did finally arrive instead for my $1,930 down payment they upped it up to $3,500!! I could not believe on the spot they did that. But I had no other option so I paid it.

They told me 6-21 days. It went well over a month and I could barely get any communication of when the ETA was. I moved May 6th and my items didn’t arrive until June 13th.

These crooks quoted one price and at the last minute, 3 days before scheduled move contacted me stating that it would be an additional $1,400 for my items. Nothing in my list of items to be shipped changed from the original quote. This man called after business hours so that I couldn't speak with anyone and on a Friday. I'm also noticing that for every bad review two or three excellent reviews pop up with 5 stars. I question that as well. I've filed complaints with the Florida Attorney General's office and FMCSA. They make their money by under quoting but presenting a believable quote and keeping your deposit. Pure sickening. It also seems that this company has had other businesses and just change their license number and name and back in business again. Be aware and everyone that has had a bad experience needs to file a complaint with the Florida attorney general's office and FMCSA. A note to Gold Standard Moving and Storage...I am going to continue to expose your company for the scam artists and thieves that you are. I am sure after this review is posted you should see a couple of 5 star reviews to keep their numbers up!!!

Everything seemed great when we first booked and had our stuff picked up. After that it all went down hill. They give you an estimated delivery time of up to 21 business days, be prepared for it to take the full amount of time to get your stuff. My stuff didn’t show up until 5.5 weeks later because of weekends and holidays. They blame the length on the industry taking a hit and not being able to find drivers, as a business you should prepare and not bite off more jobs than you can handle or extended that estimate time.

Once my stuff finally did arrive it all had smoke and water/mold damage. We had to have everything delivered in our driveway otherwise our whole house would’ve smelt like a bonfire. I had zero heads up on this from the business, I only found out because the driver told us. We were also informed from the driver that the business wanted to charge us an additional $800. I’m not sure why they wanted to charge us more but the driver was kind enough not to make us pay that.

I was very frustrated that my items were damaged after waiting a month and a half and no one informed us prior to delivery. So of course I call gold standard to see what they are going to do for me and I’m sent in a nasty circle of calling different numbers to try and get ahold of someone. I finally got sick of not hearing anything so I filed a complaint with the better business bureau. They have been trying to help me get this rectified.

I have spent about 3 hours this week alone on hold to either be disconnected or sent to voicemail. It has been 2 weeks since my items were delivered and not once have I received a phone call or email from anyone other than the BBB. I recommended you don’t get fooled by their “good pricing” and go elsewhere. Just about every real review I have read the customer has stated that the business tried to charge them more money prior to delivery. I truly believed I was picking a good company to do my move. Now I’m stuck with no furniture because it was all damaged and unfortunately things I’ve had since I was a child had to be thrown away because of mold or smoke damage.

Be very careful about the “positive” reviews you read. You will notice most of them are posted on the same day and after someone gave a negative review. The company is smart in that aspect, they make sure they push the bad reviews down and keep their rating up.

I've moved quite a few times and always did it on my own this time around I decided I needed to get some professional help because I recently injured my back. Gold standard moving and storage got back to me right away and scheduled my move for the very next day they were helpful efficient and felt like friends right away. They were pleasant to work with and took initiative when needed I'm just so please there were no hidden fees and the whole move ended up costing me about a third of what I had estimated I wish I had known about this business in the past but forsure will be using them in the future for myself and definitely going out of my way to recommend them to people I care about thank you so much.

Don't choose this company for your move. It's not bbb accredited. It has multiple complaints. Please use bbb accredited company for move even though their initial estimate is high. This company is just an agent and the actual move is done by another company which would chanrge you atleast 3 to 4 times their estimate. They come out and say your furniture is bigger than we estimated. Don't fall inthe trap of this company by Google reviews with one reviewer giving reviews multiple times as 5 stars. If someone is really satisfied by their move with the company they would review once not 6 or 7 times. But if they had bad experience I am sure they would review multiple times to make sure other people don't go through the same trouble. I hired this company based on Google review and fell in the trap and paid 4 times my estimate to see my stuff been packed very unprofessional and not even packed properly with atleast $5000 worth of my stuff damaged.

From the top down, every person that we talked to told us what we wanted to hear just to make the sale. PLEASE DON’T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE THAT WE DID! Our initial estimate was $2300, then it went up to $2,900. On the day of the move, the total amount would have been $4,500! That is a huge jump, don’t you think? Next problem that we ran into is that the date the truck was supposed to be at our house, it conveniently broke down out of state. This conveniently pushed the new pickup date to right outside of the 10 day cancellation period which caused us to lose our deposit. From this point until the date the truck was to arrive involved numerous long wait times for customer service, just trying to get more information about the truck. In fact, we never even found out the date of the move and the name of the moving company from Gold Standard until we spoke with sales. The next date for the truck got moved to a Sunday, with the pick-up time frame starting at 10AM. This became a moving target until the driver finally arrived at our house at 5 p.m. (not very close to any of the earlier times that were told to us) After loading everything, the driver told us that the total charge for that day would be $1,700 with another $1,700 due upon arrival at our final destination. This is in addition to the $1,000 already given to hold the reservation. We were repeatedly given excuses from customer service and told that they couldn’t talk with the dispatchers about our move. The sales representatives were the smoothest talkers I’ve ever dealt with… they should get an Emmy for their performance and tactics! They also NEVER answered any emails when I contacted them for help (even though they told us they would be there for support throughout the process) and their phone’s voicemail was conveniently always full and couldn’t accept any more messages.

If you are looking for a reliable, honest, and trustworthy company, PLEASE FIND A DIFFERENT COMPANY! THIS IS NOT THE ONE YOU WANT TO USE!
