We hired this company to move my daughter from Palm Springs, CA to San Antonio, TX. They were 2 days late picking up furniture and finally picked it up on 6/11. My daughter is still waiting in TX for her furniture. Evidently the furniture is sitting in Las Vegas, NV with a company called Oasis Storage. Everytime we call them we get the run around. We were told they have until 7/8 to deliver and now my daughter was told it will come over the weekend. Gold Standard does not care about us now that they have been paid their portion of the moving. It is a total scam!! After reading other reviews, I'm fearful if we will ever see the stuff again and/or what condition it will be in. We are at their mercy. I don't even want to give them 1 star but in order to post this I have to.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They tell you they will beat any quote that you get, and that's because the quote they give you doesn't matter. I booked them for a move that was supposed to have cost $8,000. A third party company showed up and after they had already moved half of our furniture into some storage, they told us it was actually going to cost over $16,000. Of course we couldn't afford that. And they would only return our furniture to us if we paid them $4,000. In the end, we were out of the deposit we gave Gold Standard and out $4k. Also, we had to move ourselves. I called Gold Standard, and they blamed me for what happened, saying that I must have told them the wrong amount of items, and pretty much said it was not their problem. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM. Our move was supposed to have been stress free, but instead, it was a nightmare.

I have never been more upset and more cheated in my life. As a retired senior on social security I can not allow this to take a chunk of my lifetime of savings.

Moving guarantee from Allied who came to our house and saw everything we were quoted $17,000 we didnt hire them since Gold Standard estimated $8000.

Then after 3 reviews of all our goods with Golds price became $11,900. Which we begrudgingly agreed.

We still went with Gold thinking even if price changed a bit it wouldn’t hit

the $17000 that Allied quoted.

Why was Golds estimate so low versus Allied who actually visited with us and saw our furniture etc.

Bait and switch!!!!

In fact interesting every other companies estimates can be found in my in box all Gold Standard disappear online after time sort of evidence tampering. Whose emails time out and disappear how do they do that?

Here is the bill of lading where they show the $11900 estimate which now magically became $25000 due to more work that was estimated three times and we added nothing and its more than double $11,900 now is $25000

You dont estimate $8000 get someone to hire you then change price to $11,900 then change to $25000 when nothing was added to the move list.

They also quoted $1500 for a full pack with no surprises and now are charging me $6650 for more packing then they thought.How is that possible when we reviewed the list with them three times.

You cant speak to a manager no one cares how they have cheated me and the delivery that was quoted being here between July9-11 is now supposedly around July 23. I even drove to their address which is in an office with no name on the door and paper taped to the window so you cant see in. Really?

I now have to pay rent at my apartment with nothing in it and get a hotel for two weeks.

My only recourse is to put my review with the better business bureau and 10 other websites to protect other people. Being older and on social security I now have to go into my only retirement fund to get my goods from being held hostage.Shame on Gold Stamdard and Quick Move LLCfor cheating people. I thought I was hiring a mover not three companies to cheat me.

(Golds who I hired thinking they were the mover, Quick Move LLC who packed me and another company to deliver when ever they get ready no delivery date confirmed when it was supposed to be July 9-11.)

You cant estimate $8000 move to $11,900 then $23,000 then $25,000.

That is just wrong I added nothing.

Either the initial quote was lowball so we would hire them or the actually price was so high as we were stuck.

We would never have hired them at $25,000 when I had a guarantee from someone else at $17000 with and actually delivery date instead now we really dont know but think in about two weeks.Which is two weeks late according to my contract.

In 9 different moves in my life this is the worst and in being taken advantage in my life this is the worst.

The moving company contacted us Saturday 6/26 saying Sunday (the next day) 9-6 was the window they'd be there. They originally told us the 26th-28th so this would've been the 27th they were showing up. Fine.

We wait until like 4pm after frantically making sure everything is packed, my husband calls to get an ETA since we haven't heard any communication all day and the movers are like....we don't have you set as moving. We can send a guy out tomorrow and he can get there by Tuesday. 1. They're coming from Chicago, we know how long it takes and it shouldn't take a full day. It takes 4 hours. 2. Are you sending one guy for our whole house? What's happening? We didn't realize at first that they just broker out a moving company and they don't actually do it themselves so we have no idea who we're even getting until they show up.

We demand that someone is there tomorrow, not Tuesday because we needed to be out by the 30th at the latest. I want to ideally by out the 29th because really we turn over the keys so they can take over the 30th. They start staying they don't even have an estimate for us and can we be flexible? We gave you 3 days with months of advance notice to be flexible.

I go to ask for a refund and cancel service because at this point we don't even trust them with our stuff. All of a sudden when I want to cancel, the lady said she checked and the truck is in the shop. It's still in the shop but they can be here in a 3-6pm window. It's 1pm now and they're still coming from Chicago. Yeah no thanks, we already made other arrangements so give us our money back. She said no can do, we can make it in the window so we can't refund then. There was no 24 hr notice. Nobody else knew what was happening and it would've been nearly impossible to make it in that window unless they decided to switch to a private jet to move our stuff.

I called a few times and finally threatened them saying we will get our money back because we already reported you as fraudulent to the bank and the next step will be a lawyer and they won't just want the deposit back they will come after you. We got our deposit back eventually but how hard I had to fight for it and how many hours I wasted on the phone was insane. This company needs to be reported and I'm going to make sure I do all I can to personally take them down. Last minute we had to get 2 moving trucks and a ton of friends to help us get out of our house in time.

MISLEADING BUSINESS PRACTICES. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

I signed a binding estimate with Gold Standard and paid a $1300 deposit for my move four months in advanced. One month later I had to cancel my move and was outside of the 10 day refund period for my deposit. I was told that upper management can approve refunds outside of this period and given the contact information for upper management. 3 weeks passed and despite sending several emails and making phone calls no one from Gold Standard ever reached out to me to discuss my refund. After more than 3 weeks I received a reply to my email with an assurance that someone from upper management would contact me by the end of the following day. No one ever contacted me. Additionally, the email I received was signed by an employee working for/ listing the website for a company called United American Moving. Upon doing further research I realized that Gold Standard and United American Moving are the same company just using two separate names. United American Moving has dozens of complaints with the department of transportation and the better business bureau. I was also told that Gold Standard had been in business for 30 years but upon further research could find no reviews/ record for the company beyond the last year.

Given I was outside the refund period, my review is not based on losing my deposit but rather the complete lack of communication and customer service Gold Standard demonstrates. Given that the company still has $1300 of my money, you would think I would be entitled to at least a response to my email. This company is operating under the name Gold Standard Moving but is the same business as a company called United American Moving with horrible reviews. Gold Standard changed their name in order to hide the dozens of bad reviews and formal complaints filed against them. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Please do not go through this company. I have been told multiple lies and I am afraid that I will never receive my refund. The first lie I was told is that 3 people in their billing department have covid and they are short staffed which is why I haven’t received my refund. I was skeptical but decided to wait two days before calling back then I was told the second lie which is everything has been delayed and even though I have already waited 16 days I will have to wait another 2-3 weeks before receiving my refund. I then ask if I can be transferred to their HR department and the worker replied that he cannot transfer me but he can put in a request for me to receive a call from the supervisor. I denied and asked for the supervisors office number and the worker replied that they are not allowed to give out numbers…. This company seemed like a great fit when they first contacted me. However, now it is starting to feel more like a scam. Everyone please be aware before committing.

I strongly suggest not to believe these guys. They quoted me less to get my business. I want to rate 0 star but it is not accepting it so given 1 star. I was not sure of the number of boxes but I clearly told them that boxes were kept in one 10X15 and two 10X5 Uhaul storage. Scott gave a quote and confirmed that this is the final number and it will not change but when the movers came into my storage unit they told that this will cost $10,700. This is more than double what Scott quoted me. Eventhough they commit for earlier time in day the movers came after 6pm EST because that is the time the office will be closed and no one will pickup the call. Even Scott has given his direct number and that voice message is full and does not accept any message. I am not ready to pay $10700 and refused it. Now when I spoke to the company customer care said I refused the service and they will not refund the initial amount that I paid(that is $1555). Don't go by the feedback of others who are writing positive review. I am planning to put a case against them now but don't even thinking of going with them anymore please.

Your company did not for fill your end of the agreement

Pick-up was to be made between 14 Aug 2021 and 16 Aug 2021. Did not show up until 18 Aug 2021 . Customer service was horrible. Third party you hired horrible. I ask to speak with a member of management or owner , your Rep. stated there was no one I could speak with. Basically your company stole our money.

The third party tried to charge us a additional $3000 dollar at pick-up . This is the way you get around the contract. If customer doesn't pay up , then you say they refused service.

I hope the whole world reads this and see the type of Company you are running!!!

I reached out to Gold Standard Moving about hiring them for an upcoming move from IL to OH and paid a deposit of over a thousand dollars. I later cancelled the reservation within their refund period and my refund was approved on July 5th. According to their email, I should have received the refund within 9-12 business days. This did not happen and I still haven't received it as of August 20th. They have given a variety of excuses during this period and I don't know if I'll see that money again.

I cancelled my contract with this company prior to the ten days grace period. After 14 days of signing the cancellation contract, Gold Standard still has not issue a refund. The only way to get my money back is to go to court.

It is evident that there are many people this company is cheating. I would like to file a class action lawsuit against this company because they are conducting illegal business practices. THIS WILL STOP.

This Fake moving Company is an unaccredited moving company/broker. They down payment for our NY to FL move but never called or showed up on the agreed pick up window. There is no reasoning with them. My lawyer advised to report them to BBB, your county's Department of Consumer Affairs, Federal Trade Commission and media outlets.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3645

They underquote you in order to get you in the door and pay a deposit. One to three days before your pickup they will give you a quality assurance call. This is by no means a quality assurance call, this is simply to find ways to upcharge you and take more money from you for the deposit and final purchase. Pickup day: Nobody shows up. I'm assured over the phone that the pickup will happen. Two weeks go by, every day I call and I'm assured that "dispatch" is working on it. Three weeks go by, I'm at wits end and they offer a full refund. The refund is supposed to take 9-12 business days. I'm now sitting at 20 business days and the money hasn't been refunded to me. I call the refund department and wait on hold (3 callers in) for over three hours. They hang up on me. I call back and I'm put back on hold (20 callers in). They do not intend to provide you service and they sure as hell don't intend to give you your money back. This company is a complete scam. They don't exist to provide customers a product or service, they exist short term to take your deposit and then dissolve into another catchy company name after legal action mounts up.

I booked a move and put down a deposit with Gold Standard Moving on July 13. I was told I could cancel within 10 days for a full refund. I found a different company I wanted to use and cancelled with Gold Standard Moving over the phone on July 16. I was told the refund would take 9-12 days to process. I hadn’t received the refund by day 13 (Aug 4). I called and was told there was a “glitch” with their billing system and lots of people are waiting on refunds. I was told to call back the following week Mon or Tues (Aug 9/10). I did and was told they’re billing team is down to 2 people working from home so they’re behind on processing refunds. I couldn’t speak to anyone in billing because they don’t have access to the same system and network. I’m going on 3 weeks waiting for a refund of $1,293 that took them 3 minutes to charge me….. I thought the 9-12 business days was a bit long for a standard bank processing a refund. Where is my refund??

On top of this, no one in the retention dept or customer service is very friendly or empathetic with my situation. Most have sounded annoyed and aggravated. I asked the last person I spoke with to provide a transcript of our convo so I have it in writing. Thankfully she did. That’s a step in the right direction. I’m praying I get my refund back sooner than later.

Gold Standard brokers Trucking company with nightmare reviews of people never getting their belongings and want CASH in your driveway!!!! GS pick up email says must pay Trucking company on the spot and they will not take Credit? The only way to dispute fraudulant charges is via CC. This company covers their tracks if you know what I mean. The cancellation department will try to bully you and threaten by saying "so you are committing wirefraud over a recorded line" when you tell them you will be alerting your bank. List goes on and on. STAY AWAY!!!!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!

I recently tried to do business with them they went to go pick up my storage unit I responded to a call and ask them to reschedule the time frame they said OK but the truck still went when they wanted to and the lock could not be opened it was broken so and it was broken so tried to reschedule they said OK Afterwards they never called me back or sent me an email I called them multiple times Try to reschedule they said no we tried to call you and email you which I have no emails or calls And then told me we will not be doing business with you and we will not give you a refund .

I cannot even begin to list the horribly unethical and unprofessional actions of this company. The initial person I spoke to lied and manipulated me into signing a contract and pressured me into it without giving me time to read it (he literally told me I either sign it right away or they’ll charge me ~$500 more). I was promised my items would arrive before starting work on a specific date. I called several times and offered to have them come as early as needed to ensure it was all there before that day (which, at the time of signing the contract was almost 3 months in advance). I was repeatedly told it wouldn’t be a problem.

They assigned a carrier to move my things, which was a company I looked into and had horrible reviews, several complaints against them through the BBB, and a clear history of damaging property. I had no choice and was never able to get a hold of the person I initially spoke to (who promised me I could call him “any time”).

It’s been over a month and they keep telling me they’re well within their window (they’re not) and just keep ignoring my requests for information. I don’t even have a copy of the contract (they will not provide me with one- this should be illegal). Customer service takes 1 hour + to get a hold of and they sign at me, basically tell me I’m stupid for signing the contract, and don’t care. I could lose my job because the documents I need still aren’t here and I can’t even tell work when I’ll get them. They also charged me hundreds of dollars more than they said they would (despite my having significantly fewer items than I was contracted to- and yes I measured squared footage and called several times to make sure I wouldn’t be overcharged).

They’re very careful with their wording to avoid lawsuits, but I will do everything in my power to ensure no one else is exploited by this horribly unethical company. No one deserves to have someone pressure them into a contract and then have customer service representatives be condescending towards them. No one should be unemployed during a pandemic because a moving company gave them false information. They also do not take credit card payments, because if they did people could file a claim to be refunded since their business practices are unethical and what they say and what you sign are two completely different things.

This company is morally bankrupt and I encourage any interested party to go in another direction. I chose this company because I thought the cost was fair, but how I’ve been treated and my self worth, my job, and dignity are worth more. My advice: run away from the predators at Gold Standard Movers.

On June 6th, I called Gold standard moving company. Olivia, told me they are a 5 star moving company, BBB accredited and they are not a broker and that other companies are scamming me and they are an actual moving crew. Later I saw that all the reviews were fake on Google as they are here. My pick up date we scheduled for June 18th to 20th and she said she will be available anytime via her direct line and text. Right after that, she became unreachable. Everyone in the company were. First, they told me my electronic check that they forced me to pay the down payment with has bounced. I called my bank and they said no such thing has happened. I called gold standard back and they said I should give them a new check. I refused and the guy on the phone yelled at me. I said I am not giving you a new check until you void the previous one. Guess what, the check magically went through after than. Very big red flag. But just the beginning. They called the day of my move for me to be ready, and I realize they contracted another moving company, East Freight. I was so angry specially since I literally flew into the city for the move. They ghosted me the entire window until the contractor called 30 mins before they were arriving. Delivery date was supposed to be July 16th. On July 15th I get a call that my stuff has not moved at all in the last 4weeks but they will have it here in a week. She apologized a lot and said I will get partial reimbursement. East freight has no customer service and send all my calls to voicemail. and now I have been blocked. And 6 weeks later I don't know where my stuff is or when it will arrive. Gold standard keeps saying another week after having me on hold for an hour and said it is not their problem and there is no guarantee date. I made a complaint on BBB and they say it is not their concern and I should take it with the contactor. I am looking to take legal action.

Avoid this company at any cost. I had a terrible experience with this mover. Initially they sent me a quote which I accepted & paid advance for the same. Then just before few days from the actual move they gave me a call & started asking double money for no reason. I gave then complete inventory list on 1st day; I gave them a complete inventory list with actual pictures of all my belongings & then had a video call to make sure we are on the same page. After doing all these they started claiming double money for the same inventory started behaving very rudely. Finally, they cancelled my move few days before my actual move date & still didn’t refunded my initial deposit. At the time of cancelation, they told me that they will refund within 9 to 12 business days in written. Now they are saying it may take several months due COVID. I am consulting with authorities to take legal steps against this company & wanted to aware others to avoid harassment with their upcoming move.

We booked our move 2 months in advance. On the date of pickup nobody had yet contacted me to confirm when the movers would arrive, despite me calling daily for a week. Then they cancelled my move on the date of pickup even though we already had fights booked. This cost us great extra expense and stress. We still have not received a refund 3 weeks later despite my signing the contract for refund and calling multiple times. This is by far the worst business I’ve dealt with. I hope they don’t hurt anybody else

On 7/12/2021 requested quote and then paid deposit via eCheck, I was informed that the check would NOT be presented for payment until 72 hours later. Called company back 4 hours later to cancel move. They then informed me that the eCheck had already been processed and refund would be issued within 14 days. I patiently waited for the refund, 18 days later I contacted them regarding refund and was informed that they never received the payment. Had to send them copies of bank statement showing the the money was removed from my account. As of 8/12/2021 I have yet to receive my refund. I will be handing this over to my attorney and contacting the Department of Consumer Affairs that deals with Interstate moving.

Shame on me for allowing them to rob me of $1500.00

This is the absolute most ridiculous excuse for a moving company j have ever encountered. Horrific customer service. They picked up my belongings, did not have enough space due to dispatch not updating the truck. Dumped my kids toys all over the street while putting things in the truck. They had my items for 30 days and would not respond to texts, calls or emails. I did receive one email response from Lisa during this time who just kept telling me my things were in route with no actual delivery date. Today the truck showed up late after 7 hours notice. Luckily it’s a weekend so I was home but I didn’t have time to find a place for my dogs so I locked them in a bed room. They started unloading my things and then the driver told me I still owed the $2700. I had already given them $2000 at pickup. They put their manager on the phone and handed it to me. He proceeded to cuss and yell at me about paying my bill and would not let me speak. He hung up on me and then the driver and his partner left and took my things. My grandmothers ashes, all of my child’s clothes and shoes to start school on the 23rd of this month. All of my furniture. Mattresses. We have been sleeping on the floor for a month. I called the emergency line for Gold Standard 10 times with no response. This company is an absolute joke.
