Very professional!

It is not easy to find a reliable and trustworthy company when it comes to your personal belongings, and one just wants to make sure they will not get damaged, stolen, or the like, so after asking many people, Gold Standard came highly recommended, and so I decided to hire them. My turn now to recommend them: I only have good things to say about how my move was handled. Very pleased with their

services!

Move

Gold Standard helped me move from city to city in Florida and I could not be happier with everything about them. Timeliness. Customer service. Communication. Professionalism. I sat back and they took control, without needing me to hold their hands at any step along the way. I cannot recommend Gold Standard enough, for quality, timely movers who care about the job they are doing. Appreciate yall!

Great Moving experience!

Working with Gold Standard Moving was a great experience. I have had bad experiences with moving companies in the past, including missing and stolen items. This led me to believe I should just move myself. Last minute I decided to use Gold Standard. They got back to me with a great quote very fast, and the entire team was quick and professional with the move.

The perfect moving company

Well, what can I say? Gold Standard is exactly that — the gold standard! This company just blew me away with their incredible customer service. When I was preparing to move to another city in the area, the team there definitely went above and beyond to lend a hand! Please believe me when I say that the process took no longer than thirty minutes! Amazing service! Definitely the top of the line!

Horrible customer service

Do not use this broker. They are only concerned with receiving a deposit. They do not have any movers and when they are unable to find anyone they will cancel the job order at the last minute. They do not provide any updates and customer service reps are low level and will not allow the customer to speak with any management. I have also followed up with BBB. Do not use this company.

Horrible. Run far away.

Company is a sham, scam, fraud, etc. We were quoted one amount and then we’re charged DOUBLE. It was never disclosed while speaking with them that they were brokers. The company they hired to move us was absolutely terrible as well. We were told 4-10 days, well it took 43! We called Gold Storage for help to get our things delivered and they did NOTHING. We have things that are damaged and wet.

I would give this company 0 stars if that was an option

I would give this company 0 stars, but unfortunately, that is not an option. This company is not a real moving company but a contracting site. They contract with other moving companies. I was quoted $4,210.00 for a move out of state (That was the "highest price" I was going to have to pay). I paid the $1321.00 deposit, had a moving date, and everything was set. Two days before the move I had a "quality assurance" phone call with a representative from the company and he told me I had to pay an additional $1,500 deposit and the move would be $6,500 instead. I asked how that could be because Jeff said it wouldn't be any higher and he (Freddie) gave me some B.S. answer. We went back and forth about the price, he had to check with his dispatch" to see if they could do the move for the price we agreed to. Of course, they couldn't. The crazy thing is he said the price could change once they have my stuff loaded. I told him I wanted to cancel the move and wanted my deposit back. Which I have not received. Be careful if you use this in-between company. I keep thinking what would have happened had they loaded my stuff. How much more would the move have cost me? I am lucky that I didn't have to move right away. I usually don't write bad reviews but this company is very dishonest and I would hate to see someone load all their stuff in a moving truck and not be able to pay the remainder of the bill...they create after.

[AVOID] Do your best to avoid this service.

This moving company made my move nightmare.

They are scheduled to pick up on a day so I scheduled my move accordingly like flight ticket and my lease. The dispatch didn't contact me until the day and the customer service keep saying they have nothing to do.

Once you pay the deposit, you won't be able to reach them. You will be able to find much better service and don't get fooled by the slightly lower price.

Terrible Service! you will never get your stuff

1. Movers did not pick up on the day they said they would. No communication about this.

2. Once the movers showed up, they asked for $2,000 more than the quote Guy Fischer, customer representative, gave me, even though I had the exact amount of stuff I told him needed to be moved. The movers told me the representatives give lowball quotes on purpose to get you to sign up, knowing you will have to pay more later.

3. I could not get in touch with Guy Fischer, even though he gave me his cell phone number. I have called and left voicemails. Have not heard from him since I signed up. Obviously he gets his commission and checks out. The customer service hotline always has a 45 min+ wait. Currently I'm on hold with them, the estimated wait time is 90 minutes.

4. They promised me a maximum 21 day delivery window. They picked up my stuff on June 2. It is July 19. I still do not have my things, and I have no confidence the delivery will be anytime soon. Try not having furniture for 2 months. Trust me, not fun.

5. Customer service representatives are defensive and rude. One actually told me this was all my fault for not reading the contract. So, basically, I should have known better than to use such a scammy company? It's crazy that instead of apologizing for terrible service, they tell you its your own fault for choosing their company.

***If you go with this company (and you shouldn't), TELL THEM YOUR FIRST AVAILABLE DELIVERY DATE IS THE NEXT DAY! They use this as an excuse to deliver your stuff late. They will NEVER be able to deliver your stuff before you get there, trust me.

Long-distance move from Indiana to New Jersey

Criminal, Misquoted, Given Other People's Belongings, No refund

CROOKS, DO NOT BOOK. This company is dishonest, expensive, does not listen, does not take responsibilities for its errors, and is incompetent. It is essentially a middle man that contracts out movers and acts like they do no wrong. Also the fact that you have to email to get a manager shows there lack of regular business sense.

My girlfriend booked this company and did not remember to cancel before 10 days, and we sure wish she did. In the beginning the company salesman, Zach, told her it would be cheap, less than $2000, to move our one bedroom apartment from Indiana to New Jersey. They charged us $690 to in a non-refundable deposit so that we could not exit the "agreement." Even though we booked months in advance, they called us the day before our scheduled move (from July 1st to the 3rd) and told us they can no longer move us then. To this company a written agreement means nothing. We had an agreement on this time and they did not deliver on their side of the deal. A supervisor I talked to offered only $100 compensation for the “minor inconvenience.” I later told her that it was more than an minor inconvenience and that we had to extend our lease and it cost $260. She agreed to discount us that at least, but we still have not received any word from the company on our money. They then scheduled our move for 7/6 or 7/7. We were told every time we called customer service we would get a call 24 hours before the move and 1 hour before the move. We called customer service on 7/5 and 7/6 about payment methods and they never told us we would be moving on 7/6. We never got a call on 7/5 saying we would be moving on 7/6. But we got a call while driving 12 hours away that the mover would be there in one hour on 7/6. We did not get any notice 24 hours before, as we were always told and left because we had an international flight in the early morning of 7/8 and set up a proxy for 7/7. We called customer service and they would not let us talk to a supervisor and told us it was our fault that we were not there, taking no responsibility for the fact we got no notice. We scrambled while driving to get a new proxy. We paid over $350 in proxys to cover our pickup.

At pickup the man told us that because we were a certain amount of feet from the elevator that it would be charged extra. This was never explained to us and we basically had to pay as more than it would have been if they took the stairs from our second floor apartment. When the movers left they never told the proxy that we were over in our cubic footage. Later, on 7/10, we receive a call that our things will arrive today (7/11) at 7-8 am and they will call us one hour in advance. Also the man told us our balance was more than $750 increased because we were over on cubic footage and the distance from the elevator. Again they never told us this at pickup.

My proxy was there at 7 am because we knew they would not call in advance and they showed up with no prior call at 9 am. They said it was "our bad" and proceeded to move things inside. We made sure everything was inside and then odd things that were not on the checklist that THEY HAD and that WE HAD FROM WHEN OUR STUFF WAS PICKED UP. Two rugs, 5 luggage boxes, light fixtures, stools, a large table, and many more things that were NOT ON OUR LIST AND THE PROXY TOLD THEM WERE NOT OURS were unloaded. While telling the man these things were not ours and to take them back to the truck, he began to get upset and asked for more money to remove someone else's stuff. Also he said he did not know how to assemble the bed, even though in the agreement the company promised to disassemble and assemble the bed. He then became very combative to my ELDERLY PROXY, and proceeded to try to leave the premises with all the extra property in our apartment and the bed disassembled. The police were called as my proxy feared her life and did not want to let the men leave without doing their job. The police let them go as it was a civil matter. We will communicate with the company through our lawyer and likely sue them for all of our injustice. Hopefully we can communicate with the owner of the stuff, as we have found a passport and other important property in the person's belongings.

The customer service has been horrible. Every time we call the estimated wait time is off and we wait at least 30-50 minutes. The phone service also drops our calls multiple times so the wait time is usually 1 hour plus. We still have not received the $260 refunds or talked to a supervisor as we believe we are owed more of a discount for their mistakes. The company is set up so you get sold by a salesman a very low rate, and when you try to call or email him again he never answers. The customer service is rude, incompetent, and you can not directly reach a supervisor so nothing can happen when things go wrong. Also they contract out movers so they blame all issues on the movers, who will over charge you for space and belongings that are not yours.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

We booked with this company because I had read good reviews; I NOW believe THEY wrote them. I should have known when they did not accept credit cards. They give you a low bid ($4800) then up it a little a week before the move, then more than double on the day of the move—$9000! I gave them EXACT measurements on all the furniture and they should have been able to do the math and give me a better estimate the week before. We even moved LESS than I had told them and it was still double. By that time, on a holiday week, end of school, end of month—there are no other options available and the deposit is not refundable. The movers did work hard, and did a good job, but a three things were banged up. The movers were supposed to drop off some furniture at a second location and set up beds and mirrors—NONE of this was done! It is impossible to reach customer service, so there is no hope of reimbursement. This is a complete and shameless scam and I hope to stop others from making this mistake.

Best Movers I Have Ever Dealt With

Gold Standard Moving And Storage truly is the gold-standard in the moving industry. From start to finish they moved my possessions with careful consideration. When loading the truck they wrapped everything professionally, making sure to be cautious with fragile items such as glass and paintings. They loaded the truck efficiently and even saved me from having to rent a second truck! On the unload they were time-efficient while taking care not to damage any of my property or the walls of my new home. I am thoroughly impressed by the work ethic and overall customer service they provided throughout. Well done Gold Standard! Highly recommendable to anyone who wants the job done right!

Great Experience

We used Gold Standard Moving & Storages for our move from Miramar to Coral Gables. Long-distance move from Clovis, CA to Las Vegas, NV

Underestimated size of move then???

This is the worst company I could have had the misfortune to call. They are so dishonest and disrespectful. I received a $3281.95 estimate from them for my move for my out of state move. The agent I spoke with Thomas Guy, said if I signed and gave him my checking account information for the deposit of $1198, while he was on the phone he would give me a $300 discount, now making my estimate $2981.95, which I stupidly did. Big red flag. A few days later I tried calling these people as I had questions and I wanted to add a washer & dryer.Took several attempts to get through, “you are caller # 27 in line” then they never would give me a straight answer, transferring my call to someone else who said someone would call me. Conveniently, after the 10 day cancellation period, someone from QA called me to recheck the items for my move. This is when I realized they had downsized my household goods, things like my kingsize platform bed with headboard was listed as a “bed frame” my double dresser was listed as a single dresser etc. My estimate then doubled to $5800!!!! The original estimate was pushing my budget but this just blew me away! I had no choice but to cancel and lose my $1198 deposit. These people are so shady, avoid them at all costs! I will be filing a complaint about them to the FMCSA and taking any other action open to me against this company.

Long-distance move from Henrietta, NY to Orange Park, FL

HORRIBLE COMPANY, STAY AWAY

Worst mistake I made when I booked with Gold Standard (NY to FL). I went over my items on the initial call and let them know I had enough items for a 3000 sq ft home, he wrote up the estimate for 60 medium size boxes along with bulk items (furniture/alliances/etc..). I had second thoughts and called to cancel, but the original guy called back and convinced me to stay with them by doubling the box count. (mind you it was still medium size boxes). So like an idiot I stayed with them since I had little time to look around for another company. A week prior to my move, I get a call to go over my household items again. This time they tell me I had more than they originally quoted me at and they were now looking to DOUBLE my charges. After a lot of back and forth, I agreed to get rid of several bulk items that we would just sell off to save space and money on the move. Even after that it was still a couple thousand dollars more than the original estimate. Again, I said ok. (mind you at this time I have to move in 1 week regardless of my movers). So the gentleman says that due to the increased size of my items, they would need to send out a Semi and not just a box truck. I was told to expect a call 24-48 hours prior to pick up. I get a call late afternoon saying that they would be at my house between 8 and 10 the next morning(about 12 hours prior). Day of the move, May 27th... a box truck (26ft) pulls up in front of my home. I explain to the mover about the conversation regarding the Semi, and he shows me his document that still shows the original estimate of 1600 cubic ft. Either way, this is what they sent. I attempted to contact the first gentleman I spoke with, who assured me that he would be my point of contact throughout my move, but no response. So the movers filled the truck to the door, then had to locate a local storage facility to drop off half of the items so they would be able to come back and take the rest. They did.. emptied half the truck and came back and loaded the rest. at 1130pm they were finally done. I am now handed the forms that state I will owe just over an ADDITIONAL $4k above the estimate due to the size of the load. At this point there's nothing I can do. They have my goods and it's 1130pm. I go over the info with the mover and he tells me that he spoke with his supervisor and my goods will be scheduled for delivery on June 16th. I attempted to contact Gold Standard on June 7th with no luck after being "disconnected" once and left on hold for over an hour. I called again on June 8th and after 30 minutes I was finally able to speak with someone in customer service. I explained my situation about the change in prices and asked for what I considered a reasonable reduction of $2k of the more than $4k that they are charging. At first she said they wouldn't offer any compensation. Then offered $500. By the end she said the most they would offer is $750, take it or leave it, and that for any other compensation I would have to go through the actual company that is delivering my goods. Wait, aren't you the company that I hired and have the paperwork with? Was also told there was no available supervisor I could speak with further. At this time I accepted the $750 since that was all I was getting from this conversation, under the assumption that there would be a further conversation at the time of delivery. Which by the way, the customer service rep confirmed my delivery date of June 16th. Today is June 16th. Just after 9am, I called Gold Standard customer service to see when I should expect the truck since I had not received any calls prior. The gentleman tells me that he does not see anything about June 16th being my delivery date, but continues to tell me they have 5 to 14 days AFTER the 11th to delivery my household goods. How are 2 people going to tell me that my delivery is scheduled for June 16th, but then say there is up to a 14 day window after that? If I have a scheduled a Dr appointment, it's for the day scheduled, not an open window around that date. So I called the original driver (he gave me his number to call for follow ups, which by the way the original movers that showed up were excellent). I explain the situation and he tells me he was calling their dispatch to find out some info. He tells me that the truck is in the area and that I may get a call Friday or Saturday (June 18/19) but that I still may not get my delivery until next week. I then spoke with the dispatcher himself and he said that it would be delivered on Tuesday(22Jun). On Tues, they said they did not get all of my goods from the original pickup location and they needed to get it all together first, so he said Friday(25Jun). No truck on Friday, I called and was told the truck broke down in VA on it's way down. They finally showed up on Sunday. (27JUN). Mind you, Gold Standard NEVER provided any communication once the initial papers were signed. I had to call them each time and dig for updates. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

Do not let the five stars fool you too

This company moves NOTHING! They are a Broker and take 30% and throw you to the criminal carriers they hire. My "carrier" showed up, after canceling appointments many times, hours after the 5 day window expired. They figured they had us over a barrel with our house closing escrow and demanded an extra $12,000.00 cash with half up front. That's right, Twelve Thousand Dollars more in cash. I've been in sales and this guy, with no ID or paper work, tried everything in the book. He negotiated in good faith down to only $7,000 cash extra, he screamed, reasoned, insulted me. he begged, even called my manhood into question, and more. He was a seasoned EXTORTIONIST!

When I complained to the customer service department it fell on deaf ears. And not about the bad service, or leaving if I didn't pay more, but this happens lots. Seniors and collage students seem to be favorite victims. I complained that they don't care about the extortion! They turn a blind eye to this common practice and do nothing. If they have your stuff already on the truck, well, your'e cooked. Oh yes, and Gold Standard wants to keep my deposit of $2400.

Do NOT contract with this company

I contracted with Gold Standard, who then brokered the move to MSN Logistics and Best Quality Movers.

I received some of my stuff past the date they promised and everything was damaged and covered in red dust. Many items I didn't receive such as my dresser, desk, platform bed, and many others.

I was called the day after delivery by Best Quality Movers, and they told me they had a "severe truck accident", and they would refund the cost of the move. They then back pedaled off that promise and I have been getting the run around from a 4th company, moving claims, ever since.

Gold Standard is a bait and switch and each company listed is a disgrace. If they had refunded my money, it would not have covered the cost to replace the things I didn't receive or were damaged, but at least I wouldn't be paying for this horrible experience.

Consumers beware - run, don't walk, from Gold Standard Moving and Storage, as well as the companies they do business with: MSN Logistics, Best Quality Movers.
