Gold Standard Moving and Storage LLC

We originally contacted Guy on 8/2/21 for a move from Cherry Hill, NJ to Miami, Fl. We gave him the dates and details of our move, stating the delivery needed to be the week of 8/24/2021. He stated that if we were flexible with pickup time it would not be an issue and our belonging would be in Miami when requested. He even calculated the number of miles per day the drivers could drive and reassured us it would not be a problem. We then completed the quality assurance check on 8/13/21 where we went through our entire moving inventory and even gave box and bin measurements to the person we spoke to. He updated our price accordingly.

We were then contacted with a pickup date that was 8/19 between 3-6pm. We called and re-confirmed this date and time with Gold standard moving. One day prior to that (on 8/18) the movers called stating they were two hours away. We were not completely packed or ready to load our belongings as we were given a different date and time. We called Gold standard and we’re offered NO assistance in the matter. The movers then did not show up until after 9pm and we proceeded to get noise complaints for neighbors about the move so late at night.

The movers then stated our estimate was wrong, the sizes of the boxes and bins were done incorrectly and charged us for DOUBLE the square footage we were quoted in our binding estimate. Then driver tried fix pricing to add more stuff in the delivery because he realized the fees were absurd (those were his exact words).

Today the movers called and told us there will be a 2-3 week delay in delivering our belongings to Miami. We have a 3 month old in which ALL of the things we need to care for him are on with the movers, we have plane tickets that we bought with the expectation of a timely delivery. We also now cannot guarantee we will be there when the delivery is made.

We contacted Gold Stand Moving with these issues and were given no assistance and told to contact the movers who are clearly not helping us. Our contact states that Gold Standard will act on our behalf to resolve any delays/issues encountered. This has not happened.

If these issues of pricing and timing are not resolved I will be contacting both agencies stated above as well as taking any other recourse available to us regarding this fraud.

Ps. It’s 31 days and we still never received our delivery and personal items. They most likely won’t deliver it until about 45 days!!!!! Unacceptable. Run away from this company!!! Run run away!!!

Move size: Studio Service cost: $4500

Gold Standard Moving quoted me an initial price based on an inventory of $2.6 to move from California to Texas. By the time they called to officially measure cubic inventory which we accurately described (my husband is in construction, I am a designer, we know how to measure) it was too late to cancel. We paid them the amount described to cover the cost of the additional cubic footage. we went from 411 cubic feet to 590 cubic feet, and paid a sum of $490 after paying the initial deposit of $980. Mind you, they pressure you with fear tactics to immediately transfer funds and sign contracts and do not get off the phone with you to review. Yes, total red flag, but not being evil myself and moving cross country, my husband and I fell victim to this scheme.

The movers the sub contracted (and only notified they would subcontract to us 24 hours prior, revealing they are in fact not a moving company) arrived, barged through my home, took photos of my home and belongings (WREAKING OF CIGARETTES) without introducing themselves.

The moving company we were assigned has the absolute worst reviews I have ever seen. Its terrifying.

Gold Standard moving and storage promised to dissassemble our furniture and re stage it. The second the movers saw the very simple four top table they refused to do the disassemble unless I paid and additional 5 k as it magically didn't fit anymore.

When I called for customer service they told me they would not help me, hung up the phone and blocked my number!

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $4897

I have to temper this with I did not have them move me. I initiated the move and put a $2200 deposit. They do not accept credit cards for what is now obvious reasons. They tell you a few days before the move the quality control department will contact you to verify what you have. Of course this puts it past the 10 days you have to cancel the contract so if the price changes you are stuck. After talking to people who have used movers and reading online at 8 days I decided to move myself so I called and cancelled. I got a nice letter saying my refund would be in 9-12 working days. It is now 40 working days or 8 weeks and they just say processing problems due to covid and it will be another 4-6 weeks. I have filed with the BBB but they really can't do much. I'm investigating my options.

THEY NEVER SHOWED UP! TOOK MY MONEY AND GHOSTED ME. The first experience was fine, we calculated boxes and furniture and they gave me a quote. Three days before they're suppose to come they call to schedule a final inventory, and on the second call of course here they charge me ANOTHER $1k. Guy was a jerk, was hassling me saying if I had rugs or a vacuum that was extra... ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The company called me on a Thursday saying they would show up the next day, come Friday, no one ever showed. They called me and said all the drivers got COVID-19 so they were sending another truck. Saturday comes and goes, no one ever shows up. I call on Sunday and they say there's no truck signed up to take my stuff. No one ever called me again, no one ever came, they never offered to give me a refund. I had to pack all of my shit into a truck and drive 3 days across country. Most stressful experience of my life.

I thought I could trust these guys, they were so nice and quoted a great price--too good to be true. It was all a SCAM. I ended up paying $3000 MORE than the quote and had to wait THREE weeks to see my stuff, which by the way was all scratched up. In addition they attempted to charge an extra $500 to unload my stuff because the elevator was "200 steps" from my apt. I couldn't believe it-- what should've been such an easy 1 bedroom move turned into a complete nightmare. Do NOT trust Gold Standard Moving--terrible!

Do Not Use. Rating on Better Business Bureau is a C+, have many complaints. I contracted with Gold Standard who ended up playing the role of middleman and sold me a bill of lies. Once I signed on the dotted line with Gold Standard, they simply handed me to another company (West Coast Relocation Services) and washed their hands of the whole process. Every call I made to get status they said it was not in their hands. Gold Standard is dishonest; the sales person continually fed me lies to entice me to use their services. They told me I would receive my items in 7-14 days, in the end it actually took 7 weeks. Gold Standard lacks customer service, wait times on the phone are over an hour, said would call back with an answer never did, or disconnected when they had no answers. The company they hired to move me was incompetent, Gold Standard contracted with them, they should take responsibility for the horrible experience I had with West Coast Relocation Service.

Gold standard is accountable for the moving company they selected for my move. That is what their company is all about. They should not be able select the moving company and then walk away. They are hired to find a reliable, dependable and competent moving company. They did not do their job, they failed to find a reputable moving company. They found a company that stored my items in a damp area for 7 weeks, who destroyed my belongings, crushed my boxes, opened my boxes and failed to deliver all my boxes.

I contracted with Gold Standard and they did not inform me that the were a broker until after they took my non refundable The company they choose had still not delivered by stuff after 8 weeks They will not help and say it is not there responsibility. They also under bid the job and I was charges an additional $1000. They waiting until the last day I could be in my house before West Coast Relocation showed up. I would use a national carrier that owns it own trucks. If you use this company you will be sorry.

This is nothing but a horrible broker co that contracts your stuff out to other very unprofessional moving companies such as (Mirit Great America) who clearly agreed to have our belongings to us in Florida on the 8th of November,here it’s now the 19th and we don’t have nothing but excuses from both negative entities of a company. DON’T use either company nor other companies affiliated with (Golden Standard and storage) I’m so glad I didn’t use their affiliate car moving company because I’m sure that would’ve also been a disaster. However I did use (SONIC CAR SERVICE) which they have been everything in professional and on time services. (GOLDEN STANDARD AND STORAGE and MIRIT GREAT AMERICA) is not to be use for NO business. This really needs to be a CLASS ACTION SUIT. Truly all these people are not lying, and any positive reviews are nothing but a RUSE.

They are absolutely the most pathetic, disingenuous,dishonest,and unsupportive company I have ever dealt with. I have no idea how they are still in business but I am making it my life mission to prevent them from abusing as many people as I can. We were lied to every single time we spoke to any representative from this company. To make matters worse they also lied to the company they subcontracted our move to. I can't say this strongly enough, DO NOT TRUST YOUR MOVE TO THIS COMPANY. I sent 30 text messages to their emergency text only line in an attempt to clear things up and NO ONE COULD BE BOTHERED TO CALL ME. Our move cost us almost 3 times the original estimate. Do not hire any moving company over the phone. If they don't actually visit your home to give you a educated estimate RUN!!!! They are going to rip you off.

RUN. Do not book with this company. My grandparents booked with them to move all of their stuff from Oregon to AZ. Once they took their $900 deposit off them, they no longer cared what happened. They then knowingly hired a FRAUDULENT moving truck company to move my grandparents' things.

My grandparents have been here almost a month now and are getting the run around about where their things are and when they'll be here. My husband talked to someone at Gold Standard today and she told him it's not their problem. When he confronted her and asked why they'd hire a fraudulent company, she hung up on him.

He never once yelled at her or raised his voice, he didn't use bad language. He just asked her a question and she hung up.

My grandparents are having to share an air mattress right now while my grandpa is recovering from open heart surgery and nearly dying in the hospital. They barely have any funds since they're on a fixed income and they gave this moving company about half their monthly income just to book this truck in the first place.

The woman with Gold Standard gave us two options: 1. Wait indefinitely for our shipment and hope it shows up

2. Track down the shipment and go pick it up ourselves.

Don't use this company. They're awful and they do not care.
