For the love of GOD, RUN! HANG UP IF YOU GET PRESSURED!!! They brokered my stuff out to unprofessional moonlighting truck drivers. They will not take responsibility once your stuff is taken by a 2nd party. The 2nd party will not respond to your phone calls. The 2nd party then brokers your stuff out to a 3rd party to drive it down. They broke my expensive desk, lost a few boxes of clothing, and shattered a box of well-packed vintage crystal glasses. I called to complain, and they told me they were not responsible!

A 100% scammer. Here is what they did to us:

1. Contract quote changed one day prior to move more than doubling the price when we had to options left.

2. Claimed computer made a 44% error in the cubic feet despite pictures and measurement of each item.

3. Switched us from the national van line to small independent called DEPENDABLE who showed up in a rented truck from BUDGET.

4. Balance of the move an ongoing nightmare. The movers delivered 3 days earlier vs the contract when were not there and had to drive like crazy to get to our home.

Net, GOLD STANDARD should be called "Lead Standard". They are in business to scam you so RUN, RUN, RUN!

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $7800

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. They are a moving sub contracting company and not the actual mover. They underbid you even when you review your items and confirm..They than at the very day of the move, sub the job out to a different mover. They pack and set all your items in the street, and refuse to load it until you sign a new contract with them. My move was supposed to be $10,850 it cost me over $17,000 and i still do not even have my possessions delivered yet. DANGER STAY AWAY PLEASE.

When I called to review all this with a manager at Gold Standard, I was told they did not take calls and that I could only speak with the customer service rep. They completely denied me any ability to discuss what had happened and why. No closure from them at all. I am now working with the BBB.

This 4 star rating is false. I can't be a long list of glowing accomplishments as they do not even MOVE YOU

I found Gold Standard Moving & Storage online. I was told up front by the representative that they were a broker and would take my information, provide a quote based on information I provided, and pair me with a moving company for my move from Oregon to California. I called a month in advance of my projected moving date.

After I contracted my move with Gold Standard Moving & Storage I talked to a friend who warned me about moving company scams. I became concerned and checked reviews, and became concerned that I had not chosen wisely. I called Gold Standard back and they reassured me that their services (and the company I would be assigned to’s services) were legitimate and there was nothing to worry about. I continued to worry myself sick for the entire month.

But, I was happily proven wrong! Gold Standard Moving & Storage did EXACTLY as they promised: contacted me 7 days before my scheduled move to confirm ALL DETAILS about my move, and discussed every concern. They also contacted me the day before my scheduled pick up to confirm the pick up time and give me contact info. The cost WAS adjusted because I realized I had more boxes and additional furniture items than I originally was quoted for, but the adjustment was not exorbitant, and there were no surprises or false promises. They explained the cubic foot calculations and weight calculations. Every single person I spoke with (and I called A LOT because of my worries) was professional, kind, and absolutely helpful and understanding. Bravo, Gold Standard Moving & Storage. I mean it.

The moving company I was assigned to (D United Logistics) had bad reviews as well, but their service to me was EXCEPTIONAL. They were on time, carefully wrapped every piece of furniture, and since I boxed my own “boxable items”, they payed close attention to the ones I marked “FRAGILE” (which were many). The guys were organized, professional, and yet friendly and fun to work with.

I was originally quoted a 3-10 day turnaround for delivering my stuff to me in California from Oregon. They brought my home to me in TWO DAYS. They picked up and wrapped up everything from my Oregon apartment (three flights of stairs by the way) on a Saturday, and were unwrapping my furniture and placing it in my California home by the following Monday afternoon. I was truly amazed and am so grateful. I was the one who had to rush to California to meet the moving van.

Nothing was broken! And my boxes included China, crystal, and decorative mirrors and glass front cabinets. One box was dropped by accident in my garage in California, but nothing broke except the box itself. There were a couple (just two!) small nicks in just two furniture items but nothing major and I’m not even going to worry about it. I already repaired one nick and will be fine with the other one.

I have to say that I was absolutely blown away with relief that this stressful move went so well. I am actually proud to admit I was wrong in assuming this would be a nightmare; instead, it was an excellent experience. I WILL recommend both Gold Standard Moving & Storage AND D United Logistics to anyone and everyone.

I'm going to start with Andrew Hill. He was the representative that I spoke with and let me tell you, he's great at making everything sound good. Gold Standard brokered our house hold goods out to Falcon Moving and Storage and they arrived at our house at 9:30 p.m. at night with people in the back of the truck. They didn't have all the right tools and my husband had to assist. Also, our price started off with being about $10, 000 and by time it was done it was almost $18, 000. After a few hours they were done and apparently there were workers sleeping and traveling in the back of the truck and I know that's illegal.

I'm a disabled veteran and they played me like a damn fool. It gets better. After brokering my load to Falcon, Falcon brokered the load out again to a whole other company. We were suppose to have 30 days free storage and within 2 weeks they were calling trying to drop our stuff off. I was fed up at this point and told them to bring my things. Upon arrival, my trundle bunk bed was broken, 2 of my chairs broken, my daughter's keyboard stand broken, my brand new speakers had dents all in them and I can go on. When you call customer service, it takes hours to talk to someone. I've told all my military friends and family NOT TO FALL FOR THE OKIE DOKE.

My belongings were up picked up on October 26, 2021, in Maine and have never arrived here in New York state. The people in the office told me "the truck was loaded and on its way" or " they could not locate the movers, Modern Movers, and would call back with information". Neither happened. I was promised delivery in 4-6 days (by the movers) and 1-7 days (in the contract)

I gave them more than a month before I became angry and still no stuff1

I am elderly and disabled and have nothing! I have had to buy clothes, furniture, etc., and am out of some medicines.

Please do not use this company! They are a nightmare!

I would give this company a minus ten!

They dont even deserve a one star. On Sep 4th I needed to move furniture from Tennessee to Illinois so I called them and I booked a truck by paying $550 as a down payment so they called 2 days after and they told me there is no trucks going to that area we have to cancel your booking and give you your money back so I signed the refund form on Sep 7 and I didn't get money until now I called customer service the lady was talking to me with attitude and she said it needs about 30 - 60 days from November 1st

My initial estimate was $4606 for the list of items I provided over facetime. They did not come on the dates promised to pack and pick up my stuff. Called on the last day and said they are running late and promised $100 reduction in price. sent an e-mail that I requested change. After packing and loading everything into a truck at 3 am on the day after I am supposed to vacate my place they billed me for a total of $8138.52 eventhough the packing guy said the items matched the list provided by me originally. ptheir excuse everytime was the number of items increased. They count a bed as 5 or more items (mattress, foundation, headboard, footboard, rails etc.). A desk as 4 or more items (2 legs, drawers, top, etc.). After repeated appeals they are directing me to a moving company which they selected. They make us believe Gold Standard is a moving Company. It is not so. Totally scam business. All the employees are liers and each one gives a different lie and the same person gives a different lie at different times. This business does not deserve to exist at all.

This company is the worst! Do not even bother using them. First the representative that initially set me up underestimates my move and cost which then required the manager Daniel H. To contact me back a few days later. The manager stated the representative made a big mistake which requires them to let him go today. The manager then tells me our cost was short by over $800. I ended up just going with them since our move was just less than a week away. When their quality team called me 2 days before, they said they did not see an inventory list on file even though I gave them it twice. The quality rep told me that now my cost would be over $4000 more! I immediately canceled with them and then told me I lost my deposit!

Everyone this is a scam! Do not go with them. They are intentionally quoting low rates then upping it last minute so you would cancel and they would keep your deposit and in my case it was $839!

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $7453

I got a quote from Gold Standard and decided to move forward since it was lower than other movers. They pressured me to hurry and lock in the rates so I provided a deposit of about $2500.Iwasn't too worried since the contract says I had 10 days to cancel for full refund.

I cancelled after four days because of all the bad reviews and I received an email stating that my refund was approved and I would receive it within 12 to 14 days. It has now been 4 months and I still have not received the refund.

I have called and made several inquiries about getting my refund, but they just say they are behind and I'll get it soon.

I don't believe they have any intention of giving me my refund so I have filed a complaint with the Florida Attorney General's office, and the Department of Transportation.

Don't make the same mistake I made.

I hired Gold Standard Moving and Storage to assist in my move from California to Texas. I was quoted $2,887.20 and was told I could not

cancel less than 5 days before the move. What they did was call me 4 days before the move with a "revised" quote of $3,636 (wanting and

additional $440 deposit) claiming I had "updated my inventory" which was not true. I gave the correct inventory at the time of the booking.

Due to their planned scheme, I no longer trusted them, and when I wanted to cancel they stated if I cancelled they would absorb my $1,337 deposit. I ended up cancelling because I did not trust them anymore, I feel I was set up. They called me less than 5 days before the move on purpose. I booked them more than a month in advance, they had plenty of time to call me with a "revised quote". They never provided any services for me and felt entitled to keep my deposit.

They are pending legal investigation.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3700

I hired Gold Standard Moving to help my move from California to North Carolina, finalized the quote to $1700~ after multiple negotiations. I opted for 30 day storage, post that I followed up for delivery. No response from them after multiple follow ups because they outsource it someone else who inturn does it to a diff carrier. Finally I received them after 75+ days. Now when I go through the shipment I see they have missed a box as well. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE IN TOTAL. PLEASE DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE.

We canceled our move on the 27th of September and was given a refund confirmation at that time. We were supposed to receive a refund within 7 to 10 business days. After waiting 2 weeks we called and talked to customer service who told us that it was going to be another 4 to 6 weeks. After 4 to 6 weeks had passed we called and were told that it was going to be the end of January before a refund could be issued. We are also told that the company was pushing off all refunds to the end of their fiscal year to make their books look better. Waiting more than 4 months to be refunded is ridiculous! Do not use this company. Do not trust them with your money! We ended up going with U-pack and packed the items ourselves and had a great experience.it was cheaper and they were on time or early with everything.

I want to give them zero stars but not able to! We were given an estimate and told them we had a piano so they’d need a dolly for that. Movers showed up with a truck, no dolly for piano, scratched up wood floors, and then turned the piano upside down. I told them I had some expensive pieces so please pack them carefully. After they finished loading they told me the price was over $12,000, almost $5,000 more than my estimate. They also told me they would have to take it to NJ for storing before they moved it to GA. When they finally delivered it in GA, in a 26 ft truck it was only about half full even though they told me I used more space than allotted that’s why all the extra charges. Many of my pieces were damaged by the so called Careful Movers and 100% experienced. They had no piano dolly again. Boxes had gotten wet and were squished. My piano now has some dead keys and my beautiful furniture is scratched, cracked, broken legs, handle broken and missing hardware. They also lost 7 oak bed slats. I have moved numerous times and longer distances and have never had the damage or excessive costs as charged by these movers. When I mentioned the damages the mover said, well you have insurance!! Once they have your furniture loaded they have you, especially if you are on a tight moving schedule. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

We used this company to move my stepdaughter from Texas to South Carolina. After listing everything that needed to be moved the price was doubled not once but twice. Long story short, after being told they would handle packing they didn’t and after being told the second payment would be more than was needed and we would get money back we didn’t. Instead, we were going to have the quote doubled again. We ended up paying the second quote to have 8 items moved, enough to fill the last 6 feet of the truck. We were then offered a refund of $2000 and after being promised a 3 month timeframe to receive the refund they then said they were having issues with their processing center. Everyone who works for this company knows exactly what they are doing to scam people. They are the lowest of low people. Absolute trash.

Gold Standard Moving was a complete disaster, beginning to end. They are NOT an actual moving company, they are a BROKER that contracts with independent carriers.

I used Gold Standard to move from California to Illinois in 2021. I arranged my move with Gold Standard months in advance and was told my possessions would be delivered to my new home in 3-21 days.

My buyers were taking possession of my condo 8/31, so Gold Standard gave me a pickup date of Friday, 8/27. Plenty of time. The afternoon before my pickup, my phone rang, and it was the trucking company Gold Standard had contracted with. The guy told me he wasn’t coming: that Gold Standard had revised my move and he wouldn’t do it, so I had to call and tell them to find another truck because he wasn’t coming. Um, what?

I immediately called Gold Standard customer service. They apologized and told me they would find another carrier that would be there Saturday, and if they didn’t show up Saturday they would definitely come Sunday. Okay. Sunday would still be plenty of time, since I didn’t HAVE to be out until Tuesday at 5PM.

Saturday and half of Sunday went by with NO truck and ZERO communication. I tried calling a few times Saturday and was told there was no customer service on weekends. By Sunday afternoon I was fuming. I called their afterhours service and finally spoke with a rep, who told me they had NEVER arranged another carrier!

A truck FINALLY showed up at 11AM on Tuesday, 8/31. Upon arrival, the moving team demanded $2,000 more than Gold Standard had quoted me for my move! At that point I absolutely HAD to get out, so I just effing paid it. After they finished, I cleaned and walked out incredibly stressed 15 minutes before my buyers took possession. Ridiculous. I had planned MONTHS in advance to avoid exactly this scenario and here I was, a basket case.

One of the movers told me my things were going to LA to be unloaded and palletized, then reloaded onto a bigger truck for transport. It looked like they’d done a decent job packing, so I was not overly concerned.

Four days later, I was in Illinois and ready for delivery. Several days later I called Gold Standard for an update. It had been about 7 days since pickup. I was told, “Oh no! It’s 3-21 BUSINESS DAYS, not 3-21 calendar days. And the 3-21 business days didn’t start when your things were picked up. They started on the first day you told us you were in Illinois!” Fantastic. They had no info beyond this and said I’d get a call the day before my delivery, click.

I waited a few more days and called again, hoping for some shred of information. I was told it was Day 7, and they had no news. I waited another week. By my calculation, we were on Day 13, but the customer service rep told me that nope, it was only Day 9. How was it possible, I asked, that I had called the previous week and was told it was Day 7, and now, a whole week later, it was only Day 9? Again, I was brushed off.

Many days went by, with continued brushoffs and absolutely no information. I FINALLY received a call on 9/27 (28 days after pickup) saying my delivery would be the next day. Now for the delivery nightmare.

During palletizing and re-loading, my possessions were completely manhandled. Carefully packed, new boxes were WRECKED, many crushed and/or torn open. Antiques were damaged, some irreparably. Hardware was missing from beds. Items had massive amounts of packing tape applied to them, and I still can’t get the adhesive off. A dining table is warped by 3-4”. Many items look like they sat in the sun for an extended time, which made me wonder if everything sat in an LA parking lot for weeks, baking and fading in the August heat. Several items were lost completely.

I feel like I was put through an incredibly stressful experience, had my possessions destroyed, damaged or stolen, AND paid over $12K for the privilege. Gold Standard has a process for reporting damaged and lost items, but they make it as hard as they possibly can: massive forms, extremely specific instructions regarding the types of pictures you need to submit, AND they require that you have the original bill of lading (which they do NOT give you unless you knew to ask for a copy of it). I began the process, but honestly I just want to be done with this company and its BS.

Please, please learn from my experience and avoid Gold Standard like the plague!!!

Where to start, I was told 21 days total for my move, here we are 7 months later and still have not received all of my belongings. Was told on my initial setup that I was insured up to 300k dollars and after all this time I'm just now realizing they only insured me for $00.60 a pound. we're talking about 5-6 thousand dollars worth of loss and damage to include priceless family heirlooms. We had boxes that had been rummaged through. Scammers are more gentle in their heists. stay away! spend the extra money and go with pods or some other method, it will save you so much more money and much less heartache down the road. We also received other people's belongings that we have tried to return but no one seems to care, we have searched Facebook and tried to find this family in hopes that they may have some of our belongings as well. Nightmare

I hired this company October for a January 29-30, 2022 moving date. I paid them 1850.00 for a move from ME to TX. The date came and we had inclement weather on the 28th and I had no phone calls or text messages, letters or emails. When I called on the 31st they stated everything was backed up due to the weather. I explained I had to be out of my apartment that day. They told me I could have a refund and would expect it within 10 days. Here we are on March 12, 2022 nothing. No refund. When I called 2 weeks later I was told I would get my money in 30-60 business days and others have complained waiting longer than that. I will seek punitive damages in small claims court. Don't put yourself through the stress with these people. They are criminals.

Well, ALL of our stuff was auctioned off by Princeton Moving who was hired by US Moving Pros (aka Gold Standard Moving). But first, their "customer service" people upped my quote and held me hostage unless I agreed to the new price. Yes, I did add a few items but not DOUBLE the price! So how it works is they apparently sub out the work to the low bidder. Low bidder (Princeton Moving, in this case, out of Illinois) picks up your household belongings, puts all your items in several storage locations (without your knowledge) and doesn't pay for the monthly storage fee. All the while, I'm calling to find out where is my stuff (literally hundreds of times - on hold or no answer for over and hour) and when is my delivery date. Then Public Storage puts it up on an online auction and they get 10% of the proceeds and Princeton gets 90%. My stuff was apparently mixed with 5 other peoples and they put the good stuff in the front of the unit so that the pictures will show expensive items. I found my 40+ year old guitar on Ebay - and the Seller said "tough luck".

Do your due diligence friends, unless you want all the irreplaceable items in your life gone forever - father-in-laws ashes, photos, childrens' adoption paperwork, diplomas, tools, medical devices, hand made quilts, clothes, guitars, ... the list is endless.
