Late shipment and broken/missing items

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. They tell you within 10 days delivery of your items but they are lying and only deliver after 30 days. So many items were missing and broken worth $300 and when you write to them with the list and pictures, you are only compensated like $25 for it. They are a rip off company and customer service is terrible. You should just drive your own stuff!

Long-distance move from Fort Worth, TX to Rensselaer, NY

Geo Van Lines review.

They literally broke/snapped off one of the legs on my bedroom dresser. Numerous nicks, dents and scratches to all pieces of the bedroom set. They lost the hardware to attach the stand to the TV and also for the mirror to the dresser and for the entertainment stand. Scratches and nicks to 2 of the 3 living room tables. I have before and after pictures. Their agreed pickup date was 3 days delayed and delivery was a week and a half late, and the deliverers tried to deliver at 1:30 AM, in the morning. This is the worst move I've ever experienced and I've moved more than a few times for my job. Totally unprofessional, lacking experience, and just no concern/customer service for your belongings. There was water damage to most of the boxes. I'm trying to file a claim with their claim/insurance company (CAF CPS CLAIM DEPART cs@cafcps.org). It's a ridiculously complicated process. They won't give you your belongings unless you pay in cash. They make you pay in cash so you can't stop payment because of the damages to you stuff and poor service. They do this because they've had so many unhappy customers that have challenged the charges. May the force be with you if you sign up with this company. This is set up for you to fail. I intend to contact the BBB and file a complaint as well as contact a lawyer and recruit all of you to file a class action lawsuit.

Local move from Plano, TX to Aubrey, TX

Super Friendly.

I moved from Plano, TX to Aubrey, TX and absolutely fell in love with Mike’s crew. They came to my house exactly when they said they would arrive. They introduced themselves and made sure we knew the game plan. They got right to work and started loading up the truck. They carefully wrapped everything and took apart my furniture, even things like my recliners, which I didn’t know disassembled, but they are the experts and I trusted them completely. Something was wrong with the hookup to my washer, and rather than unhooking it and risk flooding my bottom floor, they replaced the knob to the fixture! It took them 4.5 hours to load my 3500 sqft house, which was expected and we went to Aubrey. When we got there, they laid down this brown paper to protect my new floors and got to work. I had to ask them to take a break! I bought them lunch and we all rested for an hour or so and that’s when I learned how super friendly they were and their backgrounds. Super sweet guys. They immediately got back to work and finished unloading in about 4 hours. Totally worth the money when you get a crew that’s as great as them! Not a single thing broke and I filled wardrobe boxes with pots, pans, and other kitchenware. They hooked up my electronics, appliances, even helped me figure out the new thermostat. I will definitely be recommending Mike and his crew to friends and family. Geo Van Lines is now my go-to mover.

Move out of state.

The people that load and unload you belonging are fine. But short story. THEY DO NOT WORK FOR GEO VAN LINES. THEY ARE HIRED!! That is where the lies started. The customer service is the WORST. They lie about everything!! Never return phone calls. Hang up on you!! Transfer you to anyone else just so they don’t have to talk to you. Then they will come up with a reason why it is more money from picking it up to delivering it. Unless you like to be lied to don’t use them. So once they have your belongings they will not let you have them till you pay what they want. More to come.

Don’t Even Deserve 1 Star.

This company is completely unreliable, uncommunicative, and unprofessional. I was not picked up on my move date, nobody answered my phone calls, nobody called me, and nobody replied to the texts they insisted I send for information. I have been hung up on and transferred repeatedly to multiple representatives and managers with no avail in order to get my money refunded. The head manager asked me to text and refuses to reply despite a sales rep saying she saw him directly and would try to get him on the phone so he couldn’t avoid me any longer. They also asked me 5 times if I was moving to Ohio or Virginia and repeatedly did not update their internal information. DO NOT USE THIS FRAUD OF A COMPANY!! I wish them to be held accountable by the proper authorities for how much inconvenience they have clearly caused numerous people aside from myself.

Movers caused damage and GeoVanlines would not pay for it.

Movers moved and damaged my little trailer (I would have moved it using my truck) and did not tell me and did not alert me to damage to the tailgate of the trailer. I sent an estimate for repair and wrote certified letters attempting to get a response. I have workers on tape discussing damage. I will be filing a small claims court case in an attempt to get the ~$800 to repair the small enclosed trailer that wasn't involved in the move but damaged by the movers by moving it.

It took ~2 months to get a response that was a lie.

Tried to pay me to remove my review.

I wrote a lengthy review back in July 2018 about the horrendous experience I had with this company. Today (March 25, 2019) at 11:50 a.m. EST, I received an email from a Miki Gold saying that Geo Van Lines will give me $75 to remove my review.

Id rather help people save thousands of dollars and not have their time wasted dealing with this scam company than get $75.

Update Review -.

I wrote a review back in July 2018 and I received an email trying to pay me to remove my review from this site - which is a VIOLATION of the terms and conditions of this site. They offered me $75 then when I declined they came back with $100. I again, declined as I would rather not take a bribe and I'd rather be honest with my feedback and keep others informed of their crappy service and now their trifling ways!

Do Not Use This Company for your Move!

This company is nice until they have your furniture. They hold your property hostage and require payment in cash prior to belongings being delivered. They don't obey the law that states "can't require you to pay more than original estimate plus 10%. They don't deliver on time and my property was damaged. They are extremely rude and have illegal practices.

Destroyed all my belongings in exchange for $1400. They are a joke.

DO NOT USE THEM. They are an awful company. Got all of my furniture destroyed from the move from Dallas to Houston on 7/8/19. Driver was involved in a car accident which destroyed my entire belongings. Rick Lopez from the company assured me they have insurance to cover accidents like this so I should not worry. They were very uncooperative and pretty much I had to nag them to give me information about their insurance. Fast forward today, I have been fighting with them and insurance company for 3 months now, only to find out they will reimburse $1400 for all of the damage which exceeded $60000 dollars. I still have the broken furniture sitting at the back yard. Their cargo insurance will not reimburse anything although it was their employee's fault. Why? Because the driver was not insured!! Their driver is not insured with any insurance so pretty much you will get reimbursed 60 cents per 1lb. Thank God the driver didn't die but pretty much they are neglecting their employee and the customer!! DO NOT USE THEM.

Worst experience ever!

STAY AWAY FROM UNPROFESSIONAL PEOPLE!
It was a very appealing initial experience, plenty of support, promising flexibility and high quality service.. The packers were great, but the Administration "disappeared" after loading the truck, not even responding and honoring commitments related with the delivery. I learned they hired a 3rd party company (Penske) to move my stuff, with a low Customer Service orientation.. We received few items broken and requested to pay cash something that was from the beginning agreed to be paid with CC.
Lesson learned!

** I noticed ALL reviews from Google disappeared (most of them were bad reviews!).

Local move from Frisco, TX to The Colony, TX

Worst move! Damages and money scam.

This was the worst move I've ever had, and I tend to move locally every year or two. Where to begin.. I was quoted for two guys, and three arrived - assuming this wouldn't change my pricing, I went with it.

The guys were nice enough, but they only wore their masks initially and then had them around their necks, while handling my stuff and being around me. One guy kept getting stuff out while the other two were MIA?

We get to my new place and this is where the issues began, we agreed before the move that my roomie was charging it to his card. They're really old school and ask for a picture of the front and back of the card and ID via email, so I sent it. My name was on the contract as I was coordinating but my roomie was paying. This was stated in advance. On arrival at the new place the guys say they need cash or money order - I don't carry cash and who has a money order lying around? After much back and forth with their back office they get my roomie added to the contract - why didn't the move coordinator do this?? They THEN spring on me "We brought a 3rd guy so it's $25 more per hour.." I agree just to get it done and get them gone.

Then I start looking at all my items. The boxes seem fine, but I notice that multiple furniture items are damaged. My sofa has what looks like a knife gash. The door hinge to my entertainment center has broken off the wood. My desk leg support is broken. In all my past moves I've never had this much damage. Just to find out my items are only covered at 60 cents per pound? I'll be submitting the claim shortly but if they literally only cover the item itself based on weight it'll be worthless. Damage photos are attached. They also lost the pegs to hold my shelves in place.

At no Cost, do Not Hire This Company.

On August 24, 2020, I hired this company to move my stuff from TX to FL. They came on the 27. But before I could hire them, I had to deposit 10% - which I did; then, when they get to my house, I had to pay 60%- which I did. Yesterday, September 16, 2020, they came and wanted cash only. I reminded them of the agreement that payment could be in "CASH, POST OFFICE MONEY ORDER or CASHIERS CHECK" (see attached photo of the Agreement). They refused to take the cashier's check and demanded cash only. Any company that demanded cash only is a BIG RED FLAG to me; they are doing shady business. Cash cannot be traced. So, instead of taking the cashier's check, they asked their driver to return my stuff to their storage (I have no idea where that is). So, right now, I am seeking legal advice to determine what legal action(s) we can take since the agreement clearly specifies "CASH, POST OFFICE MONEY ORDER or CASHIERS CHECK" (see attached photo of the Agreement).

PLEASE DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY EVEN IF THEY ARE CHEAPER THAN company. If you had or facing the same problem, file a complaint against them with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Their website is https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/?utm_source=takeaction#crnt&panel1-1

I REPEAT, STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY, OR YOU WILL REGRET IT- TRUST ME.

Don't use please

After giving me a quote I thought it was low. I did a Google walk through because of COVID-19 . The estimate raised. When they showed up with one truck that only held 1800 sq ft when it was quoted for 2600 sq ft the price went up again. Upon delivery the price raised again. Do to loading and unloading. Now every bit of my big furniture is broken or damaged. All my glass is broken. My dead mothers China cabinet is missing shelves and broken. Never in my life could I have imagined paying 17000.00 for a move with everything getting broke. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

INCONSIDERATE, DISRESPECTFUL, HEARTLESS, MONEY LAUNDERERS!!! I was like a few others who have spoken out that said they saw the poor reviews and thought it would be all right and gave them the benefit of the doubt. How naive I was. In the end, even one of the employees admitted they told me what they thought I would want to hear just to make a sale.

To begin, I was lied to by Ron. On our first phone call, he kept stating over and over, “Stop stressing. Don’t worry; we are going to take care of you. You’ll get your belongings, everything will be fine, just pay the down payment, and we will get everything situated for you. Just sign the paperwork and get the deposit down and we’ll get this going.” When I inquired about the statement that it could take up to 21 days, he said, “It’s not going to be 21 days. That is if you are moving to someplace like Idaho! Please, stop stressing! We will get your things there really fast.” When I called the following day I regarded the 1-star scores for the company and was told by him, “Those are people who just want to complain. They are probably like 3 years old. You have to pay to be a part of the BBB, so those complaints are not even valid because we do not pay to be a part of them.” I explained that they were actually very recent and people complained that their things were broken, they weren’t repaid for the damages, couldn’t get ahold of anyone, etc. He said, “That is not true. Don’t believe that. Listen, I will personally see to it your things will arrive promptly, and nothing will happen to them. They will be taken care of. I’m giving you my word; I will personally make sure of it. Don’t worry.” When the movers showed up, I was told, “It can be as early as 5 days, but will probably be about a week.” That was repeated at least three times while his manager, Jack, was on the phone! I should also note that all the guys were smoking POT the entire time they were moving & loading my things!

I received my belongings on the 19th day, not 7 days later like I was told. Many of my things are damaged. I was given the wrong number to the movers who were delivering my things so could not get ahold of them to determine an estimated time of arrival. Furthermore, GeoVanLines did not have anyone to answer the following day of that email, being a Sunday, to get a correct number. SO, I get a phone call at 10 minutes before 9 PM on a Sunday night from the movers saying they are 20 minutes away! I was in my pajamas and just about to start fixing dinner. The mover precedes to tell me he was not given the correct phone number for me and had been trying to call the day before. I told him it was very late, and I have work in the morning. I was about to fix supper, and I was not appropriately dressed or prepared, and this was incredibly short notice. He gets his manager to call me, who says they were given the wrong number and only just now got the correct one when they referred back to an email that was sent previous and says, “Well, if you can’t accept the delivery now, I will have my guys put it in storage, and it can be delivered in 3 WKS when the next group comes through.”I explain the current scenario and it is going to take a while for them to unload; there are only 2 movers! He says, “Oh, no. It will take like 30 min. Drop-offs are much faster than pick-ups.” There was really only One person moving because the other guy was on his phone and shouting at the head guy that he was not helping him, that he was tired of helping him do everything. So, I had to jump in and help this kid bring my things in and take off all the coverings. This took nearly 2 hrs. At the end, when he had to bring in the washer, again he asked the other guy, “can you at least help me with the washer?” And the other guy starts going off on him all over again. He was able to get it in the house but could only move it so far on his own, so I went over and started walking it to the laundry room when he told me to just stop and let him do it. But he couldn’t, so instead left it sticking out halfway into my hallway. My bed frame arrived missing 3 of its wheels, my dresser and office drawers have the wood paint scraped off, they dropped my rocker on the sidewalk by stacking a bunch of my things scratching that, a collectors beer mug broken, crystal candle holders broken, a huge dent in a brand new crockpot I didn’t even have a chance to use once, they took the mattress cover I purchased, lost the hoses to the washer, and scratched my washer. What is even more unbelievable is many of these items were bubble wrapped packed in a box that was in another box that had pillows on both ends! On top of that, they also refused to wear masks during this uptick of the pandemic.

Long-distance move from Texas to California

Avoid at all cost: Geo Van Line.

Sure, moving can be stressful, but I can't remember the last time I was so stressed and upset because of someone - never mind someone I am paying. I accept that most of the moving companies have hidden fees, and the final cost will likely be higher than what I signed a contract for, but I did not expect SO many games. We were moving across states.

At pick-up spot, the company charged us $75 more for having to move in an apartment, with an elevator. We agreed on a date for delivery, but the day before the agreed upon date, they said they're going to deliver that day! We changed our plans to meet them at the destination, but the driver would not go into the street behind the building where the loading dock is, claiming that the truck wouldn't fit, even though EVERYONE on the street was just telling him to turn because it would clearly fit. The driver claimed that because he rented the truck he doesn't want to risk scratching it, but with so many people helping to watch the trucks sides and back and still not being able to turn, it's clear that there is no other issue than his incompetency. I told him to stop at the front of the building where passenger loading is, just for 5 minutes, at least to drop off the stuff, but he said he doesn't want to risk a ticket. We called the police, with Geo Van Line's management connected through phone conference bridge, the police said if you really don't want to use the loading dock, use the passenger loading side but be quick. What happened next? The driver just drove away! I was by the truck and he just yelled "don't stand here it's dangerous" while driving away - well, thanks for watching out for my safety while taking my stuff away without telling me where you're going! A stressful 1 hour and at least 20 phone calls (some not answered, some with incoherent yelling on the other side) later, I figured out that they wanted me to pay $375 more for them to deliver in a smaller truck which they feel would be safer to deliver to my place. My place is on a major street, and the backstreet with the loading dock frequently have large trucks delivering to all the hotels and apartments around the area. The two options they gave me were either to pay $375, or to pick the delivery up myself from a storage (but they wouldn't tell me where) AND pay them storage fee. I asked them to connect me with their management. The management joined the line and I told him the whole situation, telling him about the two options for delivery - back and front street. At this point, the driver started calling me a liar saying the police said he would be fined if he came back to the area with his truck.. Not a lot of things make me upset but being called a liar really does. I started recording the phone call at this point.

We called the police again, and also called the management team of my building, to verify the allowed parking situation, and it was clear that there are two options for delivering - back and front street. The moving company still doesn't quit playing games, so I told them I've recorded the conversation so they can't lie. After 30 seconds of silence, they hang up. They called me 10 minutes later, saying they'll deliver the next day, but I need to pay for overnight, and elevator fee. My building's management guy heard the conversation and was outraged, and took over the phone and told them to just deliver the things, and the rest we'll talk about it. They showed up the next morning, parked up front (same truck, oh so now it's okay), and asked for full payment and a bunch of signatures first - of course, there is the extra elevator fee. Then, they said because from the truck to my place, there are more than 75 feet of distance, they'll charge $150 more. I told them to quit the [EDIT] and just leave the stuff where the last of the 75 feet is, and I'll get it to my place myself. They said "oh are you sure these are heavy and you probably can't lift them" - how caring! I told them no way I'm going to pay $150 more. They said okay, $75 more.. fine $50 more.. I said okay, paid the $50, they got inside the building, and said oh actually we don't think we can fit the couch inside the elevator, so it'll be $300 more for using the stairs - did they try to fit the couch inside the elevator? No (spoiler alert: my boyfriend and I moved the couch ourselves through the elevator later, it fits). You know what's the worst of the story? They asked: "Where are you guys from? Why are you so cheap? It's not like you don't have money you live in such a nice place". I am a visible minority. Whether I have money is my business, but I have a minimum standard for movers (and just people in general) that these guys from Geo Van Line do not meet.
Rude, way overcharging, and insanely stress-inducing. Avoid at all cost!!

Local move from Mesquite, TX to Springtown, TX

Promises not fulfilled.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They say anything to get your business but do not come through with what they promise.
I received many quotes from several moving companies. Geo Van Lines was the least expensive and price was a concern for me.
I read the reviews on all the companies I was considering. Geo Van Lines had especially bad reviews. When I was speaking to Shannon, the sales representative, she said the problem was with the long distance the individual moved. I also saw that the company responded with a partial refund. My move was local – only 1-1/2 hours away.
I told Shannon IF she had her best movers move me WITHOUT incident I would give Geo Van Lines a glowing review. Unfortunately, I was suckered in and booked with Geo Van Lines for Monday, Jan 15th, starting at 8 am with an estimate of 6 hours packing/unpacking time(supposedly on the high side). I informed Shannon that I am an early morning person and would want the move to be completed before dark. No problem Shannon said. I paid the $50 deposit and the Friday before the move paid the remainder of the estimate in full.
Since I have two young dogs I decided to board them for the Monday move. I boarded them near my new home and had to take them to boarding Sat early in the morning – meaning I was paying for Sat, Sun and Mon boarding. I would have to pick up the dogs before 5 pm Monday before they closed. I told Shannon of this requirement and that the move would need to be completed by 4:30. She had no problem with this requirement.
Monday, moving day. I am waiting and waiting. I finally get a call at 9:45 am that they would be there at 10:15 am. Ok, I thought 6 hours would be 5 pm. I would pick up the dogs while they are unpacking. Unfortunately, no word or van before 12 noon. My 6 hour window with a 1-1/2 hour drive was no longer viable. I called Shannon to cancel Monday move and reschedule for Wed as Tues was forecasted to be an ice storm. Once again Shannon promised Wed as an early move starting at 7 am.
I made a special trip, remember an 1-1/2 hr drive each way, to pick up the dogs. I requested for the dogs to stay longer but no room was available. This also meant I would have to be careful with the dogs so they wouldn’t run away or bite any of the workers for the Wed move.
Wednesday, moving day AGAIN. Workers did not arrive until after 11 am! The worker told me that Geo Van lines had to rent a Penske truck as none of their trucks were available. Took the workers 6 hours to PACK the van. I had to put the dogs into a bedroom and close the door. They scratched at the door the entire time the workers were packing and loading the truck. The dogs were given a potty break.
At the end of the packing, the workers spent 45 min trying to get all my furnishings onto the van. They rented a too little van for the move.
1-1/2 hour drive. Arrive at new home around 6:30 pm. I was told it doesn’t take as long to unpack as it does to pack. They estimate 3 hours. Once again, I must be careful with the dogs. My daughter arrives to help with the dogs, but she and I are both upset over the move already.
I asked the movers if these screwups are NORMAL for this company. I was told yes. One of the workers gave me a business card for his own moving company.
Workers unpack my furnishings. I found out later that they did not put all the furniture back together. Mirror for bureau was left on the floor with railings and screws left on the bed. Top half of dining hutch was not reconnected.
The workers did not leave until after 11 PM!! I was exhausted and really mad.
When the worker asked me to pay the extra moving hours he overcharged by $50. I didn’t catch it until after I paid him when I saw the hours he put down. Wrote on the sheet the overcharge expecting a call the next day to get a refund. Nothing.
Found out the next day that they did not connect the washer/dryer or ice maker for the refrigerator. I thought no problem. I called a repair service to install the washer and dryer and connect the ice maker. He did, but then the ice maker was leaking. Repairman came out again and found that the water line connection to the refrigerator was cracked which he said most likely happened in the move. The water line and connection had to be replaced. More money to get the move completed.
DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY. If I knew then what I know now I would have NEVER used this company.

Long-distance move from Midlothian, TX to Lakewood, WA

Do Not Use This Company!!

Movers picked up belongings 7/31. Was told pick-up window 12 to 4, didn't arrive until after 5:30 or 6. However, received courtesy call from driver. Pick up went ok though, guys were polite & efficient.. Informed them Aug 4 was first available day for delivery. Contacted them Aug 9 just to check & hopefully receive update on possible delivery date. Was given "standard response" delivery was pending & envelop from first available day for delivery (8/4) was 21 non-guaranteed days transit time from that date. Contacted them again 8/20. Wasn't very nice email due to frustration of company having no communication with me through process (unless I initiated it). Their response was my belongings were loaded on truck yesterday (8/19) & would be heading to WA next day, Tues 8/21 (which was 3 weeks AFTER my stuff was picked up). Ok, I get call THURDAY morning 8/23 from driver & he is JUST NOW leaving TX, (Two days after I was told by company he would be heading this way). He gave me 3 to 7 day window as to when he'd be here meaning anywhere between Sat 8/25 & Wednesday 8/29. He calls this morning Tues 8/28 saying he'll be here after 2 tomorrow Wed 8/29. Granted, this is 2 days shy of being a MONTH since pickup (7/31). Given time between pickup and 1st day delivery availability "doesn't count", to me that is just unacceptable. No one ever mentioned to me that my stuff wouldn't even be LOADED onto truck until almost THREE WEEKS after pickup! Given chance to redo this, would have NEVER HSVE GONE WITH THIS COMPANY!! Was outright lied to when asked associate whom was working with when asked approx timeframe. She told me my have it within 2weeks, but shouldn't take longer than 3 weeks cause buisness was "kinda slow right now". My mistake for not reading reviews prior to booking this company!! If ever need long distance movers again will definitely do more insight research. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH GEO VAN LINES.

Long-distance move from Lake Dallas, TX to Alpena, MI

Nope.

This company seems to have a lot of promises but no true follow through. No one ever calls back after you give up your money & trust. Hours before the agreed upon time to relinquish your belongings to this company they still won't comply with what they gave as expectations such as a definitive pick up date & time. They will answer your call but will leave you in limbo for days.

Long-distance move from Arlington, TX to Sterling Heights, MI

Worst mover ever.

Absolutely the worst experience by far and I’ve moved many times. This company is a complete joke. Don’t believe one thing they say. Even the employees will bash the company right in front of their customers. If you want to be lied to, have damaged, broken, stolen and missing items then this is the place for you. I can not even begin to explain all the bull I’ve experienced over the last couple months. Just please spread the word and don’t let anyone you care for use this company!! My experience buying a new house and making a new start has turned in to a complete disaster because of Geo Van Lines. I want this view everywhere so please share.

Long-distance move from McKinney, TX to Redmond, OR

Thieves.

The company did a good job of selling themselves but when it came down to performance, they lacked anything they stated they had or would do. My move was cross country. Shannon (Their salesperson) stated specifically that they owned their own trucks and would handle all of my move. The packers came to pack (5/26/2018)and did an OK job except 2 people smoked in my house. They never provided the safe jack that I paid $350 for. When I tried to contact Shannon about this, she was never available. They picked up my belongings on time and during my packing, Carlos (Stated he was the driver for my move) stated that my delivery was scheduled and he would personally see to it that my belongings would be delivered on that date. I paid deposits in the amount of $8746.00 on 5/27/2018 My TVs were to be packed in crates, all of which I paid for, none of which showed up. That date (6/8/2018 as expressed by Carlos on 5/27 and 5/28/2018 came and went over 30 days ago. Carlos was in fact, NOT my driver. He is a contract employee form another state. I've called, texted and emailed several times over the last month. I have gotten 3 emails from them. All 3 stating who the driver was and the name of the delivery company. The delivery company is not returning calls and the driver doesn't even know who I am and says he doesn't have any of my belongings. Finally Saturday last week (7/7/2018 the assistant manager (Tali) called and said my belongings would be delivered Sunday (7/8/2018). Sunday came and went with no belongings or calls. They have lied to me about deliveries, about drivers, about dates and about fees. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB next..

As of this morning, they STILL do not have any idea when my belongings will arrive or when they will know.

Long-distance move from Killeen, TX to Savannah, GA

Scam!

Absolutely terrible!
I scheduled a pick up for Thursday, June 14th. I was told that someone would call me the day before to give me a time the movers were going to show. No one called me the day before. I called them the morning of the 14th and asked what time the movers were going to come for my pick up. The lady told me that I’m scheduled between 4pm – 8 pm. Okay cool, thanks for letting me know.. 7:30pm rolls around and I still haven’t received I call. At 7:45 the mover calls me to tell me that they are finishing up a job and wouldn’t be by to pick up to stuff until 9pm-11pm. Ridiculous. 10:45pm rolls around and they call me to tell me that they are finishing a job in Austin and would come get my stuff in an hour.. Austin is an hour and a half away from me and they weren’t even finished with the job, so I knew that timeline was impossible. I told them that its getting too late and that they would have to come in the morning. The manager calls me and tells me that they can’t do it Friday because they have other jobs so they’ll come Saturday morning at 9:00am. 9:00am on Saturday comes and no one has showed up. I call the office to see why they aren’t here to pick up my stuff and the lady on the phone had the audacity to tell me that someone told her that I wasn’t in a rush, so they didn’t dispatch a vehicle to come get my stuff. I lost my mind! How are you going to tell me that I’m not in a rush to get my stuff picked up seeing as how I scheduled the pick up two days prior. After that she told me that they are dispatching the vehicle soon and will come pick up my stuff at noon. I’m furious by this point. I had to get on the road so thankfully my parents stayed to oversee them picking up my stuff. I hit the road around 11:30 am, by noon my mom calls me and tells me they still haven’t shown up yet. I call the lady and ask her where the movers are, they were supposedly on their way 3 hours ago. She tells me that they just left. It only takes a little over 2 hours to get from Dallas to Killeen. 2 hours later, still haven’t shown up. My mom calls the movers and they tell her they had to stop for gas and would be there in 45 minutes. 45 minutes later, still a no show. Turns out they drove past my house to do a job in Georgetown! They finally showed up to my house at 6:30pm! For whatever reason the lady wrote down I only had 11 boxes that needed to be picked up, I had 19. They were trying to charge me extra for the 8 additional boxes. 1. I never said I had 11 boxes, 2. You guys are 3 days late picking up my stuff and 3. Everything is already packed up in boxes, all you have to do is move it from point A to point B. So my mom called the manager and explained to him how his men were 3 days late picking up my stuff and how they are trying to charge me extra for 8 boxes. They ended up taking the extra boxes for free and took $100 dollars off for being so late. So, they pick up my stuff and tell me that the next truck that’s heading for the east coast will be on Tuesday June 19th. On June 19th I’m already in Georgia waiting for my stuff to get here. I call them to see what the status is… my stuff is still in storage and its not going to leave until that Friday. Fine. I receive an email Friday saying that my stuff is on the way to me. Finally, something has gone right. Saturday June 30th at 4:20 pm the movers call me to tell me they are 4 hours away, what my remaining balance is and that they need it in cash since it’s an out of state move. No where on the website does it state that the remaining balance needs to be in cash but at this point I’m fed up with the entire company and I just want my stuff. 4 hours later, they’re not here. I call them, no answer, I call an hour later, no answer. I get a call at 10:45 pm and they said they were in Pensacola, Florida and they have on more drop off then they will come to me at 9:00am Sunday morning. Pensacola, FL to Savannah, GA is already a 7 hour drive, plus they had another job before me. Again, another impossible timeline., I call them at 9:00am Sunday morning, no answer. I call again at noon, no answer. They finally call me back at 2:45pm to say they are 2 hours away. 2 hours later, still not here. They didn’t show up until 8:00pm!. Thankfully all my stuff was there (including some other peoples stuff). I will never in a million years recommend this company to anyone. They have no sense of time, professionalism or empathy. If you’re military and trying to do a DITY move, they almost screwed me with weight tickets even though I mentioned it to them 3 times. They claimed they knew what I was talking about. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! You have been warned.

Long-distance move from Denison, TX to Albuquerque, NM

Out of State move - Texas to New Mexico.

I wish we had read the reviews before booking with "Jay in Operations." Our story is the same as everyone else. The movers in Texas were late but very nice and careful. My shipment was GUARENTEED by "Jay in Operations" to be in NM a few days later. Of course- it was a NO SHOW. My problem is that "Jay in Operations" would never speak with us again about our move. He left the rest of his coworkers to deal with our many calls. When my stuff finally showed up, I was left in a very uncomfortable situation. The driver said I needed to tip his assistant and they not only followed me to the bank with their large truck, but the driver went INTO THE BANK with me! I am a 26 yr old FEMALE and if you don't think this left me feeling SCARED AND UNCOMFORTABLE, you are wrong. I gave him $100 and told the Bank Teller what was going on for my safety. I would NOT recommend this company because they are not honest about pick up and delivery. JUST BE HONEST and you would not have any of these NEGATIVE COMMENTS! Also - if you locate my GOLF CLUBS IN A RED BAG - PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I will have someone in Dallas pick them up! "JAY IN OPERATIONS" you should be FIRED!
