Worst experience ever!!

I would give zero stars if I could. Please trust the bad reviews and DON'T use this company!! This company will say whatever they have to get you to sign and then not do any of the things they told you and double the cost of your move and say it was just an "estimate". You cannot rely on the estimate at all. I'm not talking about a few hundred dollars, I'm talking about doubling a $3,200 estimate. They purposely low-balled the estimate. They won't give you your things unless you pay in cash. They make you pay in cash so you can't stop payment or dispute a credit card payment. They do this because they've had so many unhappy customers that have challenged the charges. We also had an agreement up front that they would charge $150/day if they had to hold my stuff on a truck for a week. First night out, I start getting threatening phone calls and emails telling me they are going to unload my stuff and charge me $200/hour to unload and then $200/hour to reload, plus storage fees. They lied about everything they told me to get the job and then changed everything. You're stuck because they have your things. In addition, they broke/damaged many items, Also, the workers sat on their phones while I paid $200/hour. I could go on for another page abut all of the lies I was told but I don't have the time. Trust the reviews!! Go elsewhere!!

Predatory, garbage company.

After lying to me on the phone about it being okay for me to pay via phone for my mother's move since I was out of state, the owner wasted over an hour resolving the situation and then had the gall to charge me an extra hour on the move because of it.
Whatever you do, avoid these people at all costs. This dumpster fire of a company will gladly look for any reason to inconvenience you and increase what they can charge while at the same time going out of their way to be difficult.

Cannot possibly overstate how useless this company is.

Long-distance move from North Richland Hills, TX to Prescott, AZ

No no no.

I was really impressed with the initial call with sales..he was super nice and gave me quick quotes. But don't buy it!

The movers to the origin were early, so I thought that was a plus..until they have to leave and didn't return for 5 hours! They finally returned and finished MY load but by this time over 11 hours had passed. Then finding out when the items would be loaded to the moving truck to move across a few states, I got a runaround and was told to text the dispatcher THEN to email him..which NEITHER worked.

Finally I called again and was told the items were being loaded onto the truck and got an email at 8pm CST confirming that. THEN the driver calls and says it's if the truck doesn't fit in the new location, WE pay extra to get it unloaded to a smaller truck and unloaded to the destination..now as a moving company, 9x's out of 10 a HUGE moving truck is NOT going to fit in any apartments or most neighborhoods.

This has been a NIGHTMARE! I even emailed my sales guy and haven't gotten a response. POOOR service, POOOR customer service, POOR company. I will be reporting them to BBB as well. They should NOT be in business.

Terrible Customer Service.

Had a early morning window. Called 8 different times, was hung up on treated rude and put to voice mail. They changed the move time and claimed it was my time all along. I asked to speak to a manager several times and was never called back. I also was promised by customer service that they would call me back and give me an update, that never happened and now when I call someone picks up and puts me hold. 5.5 hours since the end of my window and still waiting. Worst service I have ever had!

Moving apartments.

This company is not reliable. I was scheduled to move on a Saturday. They called Friday afternoon to let me know that one of the guys on my scheduled crew had been injured and asked if they could do it on Sunday. I kindly agreed. I was told I would get the first truck on Sunday. They have me a window on 7 am to 11 am. No one showed up and no call and no answer at any numbers I called. I got moved completely by myself and was cleaning the d apartment late Sunday and they called and said they would be another 3 hours..which meant around 8 PM Sunday night. The driver thanked me when I told him I didn't need them! Then the had the nerve to bill my credit card. Beware.

Geo saved the day.

I can only give review for pick up of my belongings and will provide additional review after delivery to my new home.
I received excellent service, from Jack the dispatcher calling to give me time of arrival, his direct phone number and the driver calling to explain he would be late as he had to obtain additional packing tape. Arrived less than 30 minuets later. My belongings were carefully wrapped with blankets, fragile items given special care and movers professional and caring. My belongings will be in storage for 5 months until my house is completed. Once my belongings are delivered I will give additional review. I felt positive my belongings would be in good hands.

A great help on my out of state move.

I planed my move from Dallas to WA DC this Jan , and had so many concerns about my financial budget .
so many expenses, looking for good schools, nice neighborhoods
OMG!! Never ending
I called GEO VAN LINES ,Gordon the sale rep' , took my shipment size and based on all items I was planing to ship, My entire move cost me $2700.00 witch included some packing of my clothes and kitchen . By me getting a binding price I prevent myself from being stressful.
Geo van lines dd a great job price wise and from beginning to the end.

Thank you Mike & Jose for working around my flight time

Long-distance move from Texas to Florida

Horrible Experience.

The people who work there are clueless and unprofessional. I was moving from Dallas, TX to the South Florida area. I was told my items would take 3-5 days to arrive. The movers picked up my items on January 2, 2019 and items did not arrive until January 14, 2019. I called and emailed on almost daily bases looking for answers as I was without anything and no one had any answers. I was referred to the person that set up the move, Shanon, and she had no answers and referred me to dispatch. No one knew anything and kept getting transferred. When I finally spoke to dispatch, Jack. I was made to be the bad person in this and that I misinformed by people in the office. Shanon apologized for not telling me all the information but what good is that after the fact and without furniture or anything. I was given the complete run around and once again made it seem like I was being unreasonable. I am not sure how/why this place is still in business but definitely will not do business with a broker any more. I was given a driver's name but that was incorrect and took a few days to straightened out who had my items. Totally ridiculous and unacceptable. Also when my items arrived, my bike chain was broken, part of my couch was soaking wet ( even though it was wrapped) and my mattress had dirt (wrapped as well) on it. The movers took pictures and advised a manager would call me and to date no one has called. I am just glad to be done with this headache. Moving is stressful enough and being misinformed and jerked around for almost 2 weeks did not help.

Long-distance move from Sherman, TX to Portland, OR

They can't tell the truth.

They signed up the deal for a door-to-door delivery. I flew to Portland to meet them on November 19, latest the 20th (2018). But they didn't show up until the 23rd, the day after I had to fly back to Texas. Seems that they picked up more work on the way out in Wyoming (two stops, according to the driver). They broke furniture (cracked burled walnut right down the center), scratched deep into the entry door frame, bent a large tray, broke tusk off an elephant, and could care less about the result. They even delivered to me a box meant for another customer; after I returned it to them, they redelivered it to me.

Don't trust a word they say. if I could rate zero stars or minus 1, I would.

Scammers.

This company is under investigation by the FBI for that law breaking tactics they use for moving people‘s belongings. They strong arm and bully customers into paying them ridiculous amounts of money for their belongings. They show up whenever they want and they force you to pay or else your stuff is gone forever. I strongly recommend everyone to pass the word around and not ever use this company again.

RUN, You Do NOT want these PROBLEMS - TX to CO.

I ignored the reviews and thought that John (my sales guy) and I had established that they would do a good job. (I know. I know - silly me.) These people are absolute frauds. They picked up my belongings and later changed the date on the contract for my 1st available date. They have 21 days to deliver contractually, but they are referencing a forged date on the contract. They've had my belongings for a month. They claim it was loaded on a truck yesterday, but the truck broke down and now they supposedly can't find a driver. I received notification of a driver name and a different moving company name that was allegedly going to deliver my belongings. I phoned that company today and they have no knowledge of this and are not in route to deliver my things. The person I spoke with at the other company told me that these guys are known for lying to customers and using other company's names in their mess. He was furious and did not want his company's name tarnished. Later, I received a call from Geo Van Lines from Shanon with another lie about the driver had a death in the family and now he can't take the trip. Then I asked for the manager. The guy I spoke with is Jack. He's allegedly the manager. He claims drivers cannot be assigned to different trucks. (Yes, I'm aware that's utter BS.) He still cannot tell me when my belongings will be sent to me. I am contacting an attorney today and filing a report with the BBB.org. Save yourself the heartache! I have moved multiple times across the country and it's never taken this long. This move is much shorter (less than 1K miles and only 2 states away.)
The characters at this company have been lying to me for 2 weeks. Jack also told me that my move occurred too close to the holidays and that his company was shutdown. Yet, no one bothered to share that information with me prior to me hiring them. As a matter of fact, the sales person, John, indicated that since my move was so close that it should take no more than 10 days. He stated they run 2-3 trucks from Dallas to Denver each week. Now that salesperson has quit and I can't get an answer from these guys. This is the WORST mistake I have made in all of 2018 and I made quite a few big ones.
Again, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! You will regret it!!

Terrible.

Do not use Geo Van Lines. I should have paid attention to the bad reviews. They refuse to use enough staff to adequately do your move. they contracted with an outside mover to do the delivery and 1 guy showed up..Clearly trying to maximize the amount of money he made. But having just one guy managed to drag my furniture in, scratching floor, leaving before the job was done. No reply from owner Jack after 6 weeks. They should be out of business. They make you pay everything up front so no recourse on getting any money back. Shannon is no help either. Stay away.

Interstate move from Arlington, TX To Minneapolis, Minnesota.

This is continuation of my earlier submission I made about Geo Van lines. I wanted to clarify that the move I had with them was interstate move and not a local one. My position didn't change on how deeply dissatisfied and disappointed I am about their service. Please do not go with this company, they will fail you. An intercontinental ship which travels across oceans even will not take that long. They are horrible when it comes to on time delivery, and I am also assuming they are bad on other areas of service. Upto now, I don't know the whereabouts of my household furniture since they collected on October 23rd, 2018. They said on the paper that it will take 21 days and it has been been over a month since they collected my belongings. They do not care about you once you pay them. I am weighing my legal options. Their physical address show as 5851 legacy Circle Suite 600, Plano, Texas 75024. The two characters that I dealt with over the phone are Jack and Shannon Harris. We have a responsibility to inform the public about our bad experience. I never thought they will betray me and I am sure there are a lot more who are like me who can fall into their hands. Report your complaints to BBB.ORG ( Better Business Bureau).

After goods moved and unpacking, we are finding cracked furniture and missing tubs. Since they only pay 60 cents/pound, and lied about damage during the move, we don't even want to talk to them. Shameful.

If you conjured up the worst company in the history of time in your imagination, Geo Van Lines would be 500 times worse. For the sake of your mental health, do not give these thieves your business. I truly don’t understand how Shannon, the sales rep, falls asleep each night - the massive lies she and this company are prepared to tell in order to fool you into signing on the dotted line is abominable. “Just find a sleeping bag, your stuff will be there a day after you arrive”.. It took Geo Van Lines a month and a half to even begin to move our possessions from Dallas (our original pick up location) (we had to sleep on the floor without any furniture and buy brand new work clothes) and when we finally were notified of a drop off, half of it was either missing or damaged. They promised to “mail a check” at $15 per days late, which is 1) a ridiculously low number, and 2) another obvious lie given that we had an outstanding balance on the drop-off side that they could have easily detracted from instead. The examples go on and on; I could fill a novel.. Terrible people, terrible company. Had I the money or time, I would find no greater satisfaction than to take Geo Van Lines to court and save other innocent people from the suffering that they inflict.

Do Not Use Geovanlines.

BEFORE PICKING UP MY PACKAGE:
1. They called every few days in order to get my business.
2. They promised delivery by a certain date.
3. They told me you could stuff things in the furniture to save cost as they bill per cubic feet.

DURING PICK UP:
1. The price increased
2. They just estimate the size of your furniture (no real checks)
3. The told me I can't put stuff in the furniture to save space
4. Paid at least $500 more than estimated

AFTER PICKING UP MY PACKAGE:
1. Delivery Date Missed and no calls
2. No one calls back
3. They called me unreasonable and were rude
4. No idea where my stuff is
5. Rejected my calls
6. Still have no received my furniture

DO NOT USE! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Horrifying experience spend the extra money and run from this company.

Just moved across the country using Geo Van Lines. The truck showed up two hours later than scheduled. The company did not contact me after two weeks of me following up several times. The driver of the truck was supposed to give me time frame within 24-48 hours of my items being on the way. They called the day the arrived and asked me to meet them two hours later. I was unable, and asked that they come in the morning and give me a 20 min window. They did not give me the courtesy of even letting me know they were on the way. My items all arrived damaged, they dropped my TV not once but twice in front of me. When I called and only asked that they replace my boxes a man named Jack called and offered me $20 . They then wrote me a threating letter in all CAPS to complete a claim form and asked for more photos even though they have photos. Spare yourself the headache and go with someone else. I was horrified at the customer services and quality. HORRIBLE COMPANY.

Beware of This Company.

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!

They just called my parents and offered $75 to remove a negative review about their moving services. After my mom re-explained our terrible time with the company, they then offered $100 to remove the post. They're trying to buy off our bad review so they can continue their bad practices.

I want to make people aware of this company.

In short: Moving from the Dallas area to New Mexico and they guaranteed a delivery date when we requested a quote, after we paid for the services, everything went bad. They refused to answer any phone calls/emails. They were almost 12 hours late on the pickup time for moving out. They raised the moving price by HUNDREDS after we packed everything in the moving truck (I have a one bedroom- not many things). My parents bought plane tickets to help me move-in to my new place, but Geo VanLines REFUSED to answer my calls to when the movers would be there on the GUARANTEED date. My parents ended up buying plane tickets for nothing- they showed up 6 days after the GUARANTEED date, I had to pay hundreds to just stay in a hotel.

During the moving experience- the movers FOLLOWED ME INTO THE BANK and waited for me in there because they demanded more money. I was so frightened and to this day, it has ruined any moving experience possible.

We filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and with the company and wrote a negative review that in my opinion, was gentle compared to the hardship this company put us through.

Months later, they contacted my parents and asked if we could take down the negative review in exchange for $75!! After my mom explained what happened, they said: We are so sorry, we will offer $100 if you take down the review.

I have now filed another complaint with the BBB about Geo VanLines wanting to buy off our bad review.

IF YOU NEED TO MOVE- DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Stolen Louis Vuitton.

I noticed my Louis Vuitton bag was missing about 20 minutes after the movers left but I made sure to unpack and put away/organize everything before accusing anyone of stealing. A day later it was still missing, which I figured it would be since it wasn’t in the basket I had put it in. I called and was told if I can’t prove it then the only thing I can do is file a police report which won’t really amount to anything. They are okay running a business where the movers just skim valuable belongings along the way and say “Prove it.”.

Horrible Company.

They quote you one price and charge you double! Movers showed up late and were very unprofessional. They did not fill up the truck all the way. They tried to get my family members to carry furniture upstairs. We were quoted 1100.00 and charged 2200.00, they would not take our personal belongings off the truck until we paid. One of the movers slept on our dining room floor for a while. We bought them pizza and they threw their trash in the yard. They did not finish the move and told us they would be back in the morning. They never showed up and cancelled two more times on us. We had to go with another moving company to complete the move. Also one of the movers told us to watch out for the guy that was sleeping go the floor because he steals. Worst experience ever!!

Don’t do any business with them, worse company ever.

My name is John and I was unfortunately tricked into proceeding to do business with this company. I had a moving time scheduled on Saturday, June 15th and was allotted a time between 8am-12pm, as promised. Upon coming to the realization that this terrible gimmicky company did not show up on time, I took the liberty to call out from work, jeopardizing my lifestyle, missed my flight, to give your team another chance to show up, in case they were running late, etc. I realized today that I would not waste a second longer waiting for such an unprofessional group of individuals to handle my items. The culmination of such a disappointing experience, as well as, the plethora of negative reviews this company has all over the Internet and the fact that my contract was breached with a company no show without warning, was finally the warning sign that I needed to cancel the trip entirely. I spoke with a woman named Shannon, who disclosed that I will be receiving my refunded deposit, in full, on Monday, June 17th. I am looking forward to this refund and will not settle until I find a bit of comfort in this otherwise atrocious experience. However, I am still awaiting my refund, as well. What a nightmare!!

Horrible Horrible ! I Beg You All..please Stay Away From This Company.

DO NOT BELIEVE THE REVIEWS THAT THEY HAVE ON THEIR WEBSITE !! ITS ALL FAKE.
Absolutely horrendous experience. My move was from TX to NY. I talked to GEO VAN Lines (BYRON) on Friday-May 17 2019 in the morning. I was told the truck is leaving that weekend.
Byron lied to me just to get my business. The only reason I chose them was because I was told my stuff will be in NY the next week. And I was even nice about it and told them, it can be delivered anytime next week as long as it is next week. Shipment never left that weekend, It left on May 28.

IT’S BEEN 21 DAYS TODAY!! I STILL HAVENT GOT MY STUFF… I don’t know where my stuff is, driver (VADIM) does not want to give me an update, I asked him twice he texted me back “I will update you in 24 hrs”. But never did. I asked him again, he told me ask the company do not write me. So I called the company, and asked them to transfer me to the manager, but they gave me carrier’s manager. Carrier’s manager says that’s not his problem, Its Geo Van Lines problem, his driver just takes the load.
Talked to Byron again he said “I NEVER TOLD YOU NEXT WEEK, I SAID 2 WEEKS”. I told him OK then, it’s been more than 2 weeks, where is my stuff ?? I asked for a discount because UHAUL would have been cheaper and faster than this, I barely had any stuff….No furniture, Only a mattress, books, shoes and clothes. Apparently he sent an email to their operations, to help me with that. He said they will call me before the EOB, but they never did.

When I call them, GEO VAN Lines keeps telling me they will call me back and all. But they never do. So unprofessional, I have never had this kind of experience before. I am tired of following up. I am in an empty apartment, with only 1 suitcase with few clothes in a new city, and it’s been 21 days. ITS BEEN SOO STRESSFULL !!
After reading all the reviews here, I am afraid my stuff will come damaged, and they will make up something to charge me more than quoted.
I was going to wait for my shipment to arrive to write this review, but couldn’t hold myself. I don’t want others to fall for this like I did.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY….

Beware!!

The worst moving experience I've ever had. The company was scheduled to come on a Saturday and no one showed up! They show up Sunday morning to move my 2 bedroom apartment less than 3 miles away with one man and a minor child. It took them 12 hours to move small 2 bedroom apartment. I was charged over $500 more than the estimate. I wake up this morning and enter the common area of my apartment and find some of my boxes and furniture had just been left in the open. They didn't even bother to finish the job. Overall, a terrible experience. They do not follow their own published policies. Beware of this company. Do not use!!
