NOT A MOVING COMPANY

I will always continue to inform people, Excalibur are not movers, they hire POS companies to move you, take a cut of the money. They hang up on you or won't answer phone when issues arise, and will. I call DOT and FBI on moving hostage situation. They hired MOVE ON based in Las Vegas, they broke and lost quite a bit. I still don't know what happened to quite a bite of stuff. Video cabinet, carpet shampoo machine, jackets, other stuff broken like antique China cabinet. These people are SCUM. Hire an ISO 9002 certified company if anything. A legit company. Or move it yourself. Not worth it otherwise.

Long-distance move from Perry, FL to Valdosta, GA

The worst moving experience ever.

We opted for a binding price. The contract was very clear and we did just as we were required to do. Paid the deposit and set the dates. The movers never called on the day they were scheduled for pick up. I had to call Excalibur dispatch. Then after 6pm the driver calls and tells me they will be there tomorrow. So a day late. They said 9am. Never called us. Showed after 10am. Then advised us that the move was larger than the estimate and that Excalibur lies on the phone we needed to pay more. This is where it just gets worse. We can't get anyone on the phones initially. When we finally do Steve an Operations Manager does all this haggaling to get us to a "fair price" with the driver as if we don't have a contract and tells me I only signed an estimate. But we are getting a good deal and great movers. Steve agrees that there were some issues and we would be reimbursed 200.00 due to this. We sign to pay what we have agreed upon. The movers began loading us. We paid over 4k for a platinum pack and move. The movers told us we had to empty all the drawers and curios. A call back to Excalibur, Steve now has to tell the movers we have paid for platinum pack out and they have to wrap and remove all items from Cabinets and drawers. They get the house packed and they leave, packing items, cloths, plastic bindings all over the house. They did not pack an entire bathroom and a full linen closet. Taped none of the remotes or electronic items together for ease in use and unpacking. Left tons of real random stuff unpacked. Fine. We just want this over with. Delivery scheduled for the next day. We had been told by Steve that Tom-who negotiated my contract, himself and Taylor who confirmed my items would speak in the morning due to this major mistake in communication. He never called. 8:45am the movers show, they still want more than we have agreed to pay per our so called binding contract. We try to call Excalibur again. No answer. No one is calling back, No response to emails. We tell the driver we need to get on the line and get this cleared up due to the discrepancy. He agrees and then drives off with all of our belongings. Yes, they stole our items and held them hostage to extort more money from us! Excalibur would not answer our calls, we called the truck company the movers were with and got their dispatch. They claimed no knowledge of a binding contract and asked us to send them a copy we did. No response from them. When we finally get Excalibur on the line, we are told pay them what they want to get our stuff and they will send the truck back before they get "too far". The truck comes back and NOW the movers claim we owe even more because a mistake they made in the math! We get BACK on the phone with Excalibur and at this point Steve is yelling at my husband calling him an extortionists and how dare he not pay these guys for their work. Mind you we have already paid 3,100 of a 4k move that was a nightmare to start. In order to get our stuff we have to pay 2100 more dollars. They begin unloading. Not only are several of our tables broken, we have several large pieces that were damaged and we haven't even begun breaking open the boxes that contain our China, antique glass, etc. I have been taking photos and asking Excalibur how to send the information regarding the damaged goods for compensation. No response.
If you use these people may God send an army of angels to shield and protect you. Excalibur uses sub contractors and you find yourself in a loop of contracts that will have you paying way more than they agree upon since you aren't paying Excalibur you are paying their subs and the subs gives them a percentage of whatever can be stolen, bullied and extorted from you. We will proceed with legal recourse since we did in fact attempt to resolve via mediation as their contract stipulates, but since they are not responding and have already breached contract we will recover loss and any additional fees related to the legal recourse taken.
Use another mover. Pay the extra money and read all the fine print. More than anything stand up for yourself. They tried so hard to get more money than they did but my husband and I stood firm and it was only by the grace of God did this not turn into something extremely ugly on our first day in our new home. We will never do business with these people again and will ensure we review them everywhere we can based on this experience.

Great!

Excalibur moving group went above and beyond to fit my needs. Normally I get quite skeptical about people helping me move because I've had bad experiences, but Excalibur moving group immediately made me feel comfortable through their polite and easy communication. If you're looking for professionalism and ease
that won't get in the way of the stress that comes with moving definitely contact them.

5 Star Reviews Are Likely Fake.

I would suggest recording every call you have with the company, they will make promises on the call and when they do not deliver they will deny the conversation occurred. Director of Operations Stephen Erickson is likely leading the charge in this practice.

They broke a lot of my furniture, rummaged through my boxes, and it looks like my boxes were kicked all the way from New York to Texas. I have attached a PDF with my full list of complaints.

Horrible Nightmare.

This company has smooth talkers at the beginning & leave you high & dry! No room to give all the dirty details but starting from the packers coming on the day/time that was convenient for THEM, to waiting over 30 days for my furniture, to having ONE mover come & unpack us WHILE MY SON HELPED, it was absolutely horrible! My kids slept on the floor while they hid behind fine print & lies.

Long-distance move from Portland, OR to Austin, TX

Warning! do Not Use Excalibur For Any Reason.

WARNING! DO NOT USE EXCALIBUR MOVING GROUP LLC UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE! First, realize THEY ARE A BROKER AND DO NOT DO THE MOVING. THEY ARE A LEAD GENERATING COMPANY; THEY TAKE THEIR PROFIT AND HIRE SOMEONE ELSE. The company they hired, GTS Movers/NW Relocation Services based in Portland, Oregon, stole items and goods upon packing, Misinformation, and misleading information. They stole a camera that I was not aware of. It literally seemed these guys have hired straight off the street for cash. Damage to origin home, was not informed of rights, was 'hustled' into accepting an insurance that covers .60 cents per pound, which was NOT explained to me, was told that it covers up to $10,000 in damages. Not clear who was picking up and dropping off, would not give names of moving companies involved.

They took my deposit, then had ANOTHER moving company come and pick up goods, that they were not responsible for, according to the Excalibur representative, when we first started encountering problems. There was NO communication to us about another moving company, or how to deal with them if there was an issue.

Our stuff arrived in the back of a semi, literally in a big pile, with ZERO organization. Seriously, when we saw this, we were horrified and dumbfounded. Any child that has played Minecraft could do 110% better. Bikes on top of tables, on top of pictures. Over 1/3 of our items had damage, with about ¼ major damage. The insurance that they give you, that sounds like a lot ($10,000) seemed reasonable to me, even if EVERYTHING got damaged, but what are the chances of that? I’LL TELL YOU THE CHANCES… They pay .60 cents, per pound of damage or missing items. So my $1,500 Canon camera that they stole? it weights about 4 pounds, and I get $2.40 cents for that item being missing. THIS IS ROBBERY AND DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES AT IT’S FINEST.

Upon delivery, we noticed right off the bat some items/boxes were missing. We call the driver 4 times with no return of phone call. We call all parties involved, GTS Shipping/NorthWest Relocation Services from Portland, and well as Excalibur Moving Group LLC, with a patronizing, yes we will look for it, with NO FOLLOW UP to call us back EVER. This was ESPECIALLY BAD FROM EXCALIBUR, with total disregard for us after we have paid.

There is damage to our new apartments floors, they UP CHARGED us because a 53’ foot semi could not get to the door, they charged us for packing materials twice, and when I caught this, they said since I’ve already paid, they cannot do anything about it.

We paid extra for them to pack our art, as professionals you would think they would know how. THEY HIRE UNEXPERIENCED movers and pay them on the spot, so of course, they packed our art wrong, and 2 pieces are beyond repair and damaged, and insurance, you guessed it, .60 per pound of damage. So we get around $5.00 for the un-reparable art.

ALSO as a side note, not that this is a big deal in the scheme of things, but this should have been maybe a red flag now thinking back in this, the trucks that came to pick up our belongings, where old, from another moving company, with spray paint attempting to cover the old logos, truck was heavily damaged, but really didn’t think much of it, then again, when it was delivered, it was in a 53’ semi that was an old Belkin mover trailer, again in poor condition, and spray paint attempting to modify the Belkin logo. Again no a big deal, but should have been a red flag.

MY ADVICE TO YOU. FIRST DO NOT USE THIS AWFUL COMPANY. SECOND, I was to do all this again, I would DEMAND an in-person estimate, where a representative from the company comes to look at our stuff, I WOULD DEMAND to see the truck being weighed, as they charge around .50 cents a pound, and they failed to produce a weigh slip for us.

They also HIDE so much paperwork from you, with small print that will screw you in the end. They flood you with a stack of it, and rush rush rush you to complete and there are items like the fact that if you can't get a 53’ foot semi truck into your place, they will charge you extra, so make sure that is something you know in advance. There was SO MUCH hidden things that were not explained to us at all, by EXCALIBUR MOVING GROUP LLC or GTS Shipping.

At this point, we are getting our attorney involved.

Check reviews online, BBB, Yelp, Google Etc. all have HORROR STORIES of this company. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE, PROTECT YOURSELF and YOU FAMILY from BAD MOVERS LIKE THIS. Also, help protect others by giving these people bad reviews. Its companies like this that give the whole industry a black eye and the resulting horror stories. There are SO MANY BAD STORIES about this company; I’m shocked we didn’t have the foresight to look into them.

PREDATORY Moving companies like this should be PUT OUT OF EXISTENCE. If you check how long they have been in business, its less than 1 year. Which tells me, they make new businesses each time one gets bogged down with too many complaints and bad reviews. Make sure to check trusted places like NCCDB - National Consumer Complaint Database and other trusted sources. Even if I save ONE person from using this company, all these reviews will be worth it.

Liars thieves and thugs.

Do not use this company. I made that mistake January 2018 and to this day have yet to receive my goods. Oh they talk a good game.. sign you and then you might as well just give your belongings to Goodwill you'd have a better chance of buying them back. Once they have possession of your belongings they try to extort you for more money. Then they pillage every box that you have. They have no regard for your belongings they will be returned to you broken busted basically trash. I will not rest till each and every one of them is in prison for what they've done. My belongings are gone.. if I can speak out and warn somebody else before they get a chance to do it to someone else again. And I hope they lose everything they have just like they did to each and everyone of us. They don't believe the hold on to your belongings while you're doing prison time.

Horrible.

My mom thought she was hiring them to move her from Florida to Colorado. When the movers showed up (two days late) it was a completely different company. Excalibur did not explain they where only a broker. After months of fighting with both Excalibur and the company they took her belongings, she finally got her stuff two months later. The moving company that moved her furniture was Pac-N-Go. Come to find out this is two guys who run a want to be moving company out of an apartment. The people who unloaded the moving truck where hired off craigslist. My moms belongings where thrown on the truck and almost everything is destroyed. We have over 100 pictures of my moms stuff that’s broken or has holes in it. We will be hiring a lawyer to try and get some money back with hopes this doesn’t happen to anyone else. Please for your own sanity to do not go through this company. They will not help you and they do not care what kind of individuals they hire to move your “life” across country.

Fraudulent your move would cost 2x$ the original quote.

The sales guys are from a different planet and they would say anything to get your order and when they pick your items they will charge you a leg and arm . And you will be left with no choice but to pay them at that moment . So you should consider $x 2 in addition to what they originally quote you. Unfortunately I had to go with them for 2 of my moves and this is final- I would not recommend them for anyone else. This is day time robbery, I don’t know if I can register a case against them.

Go with another company. Any other company.

Excalibur quoted us a price, showed up on moving day and more than doubled it. They took our things, promised a reasonable delivery date, and then kept them for weeks longer than they had said. When we called to express our frustration our phone calls were ignored and unanswered 90% of the time. When we DID get somebody on the phone they made it clear that they could not care less about us or our things.

When they finally brought our stuff the truck was stuffed so full that I could see how squished and damaged my possessions were from inside the house. They broke serving dishes, a smart TV, a classic gameboy, damaged both of our dressers, stole one of our boxes of liquor and left us a bit of somebody else's clothing. While the movers were here they also asked me, a homeowner who they don't know, if I could tell them if a few mystery items were mine or not. They didn't know. Who knows. It amounted to a few boxes, a guitar, and a very broken mirror. They weren't mine so I told them so, but what if I weren't honest and wanted a guitar?! After that the movers explained that they were mixed up because their truck had been stopped by the police and searched for drugs the night before. They showed me pictures. I wish I was lying, but I'm not creative enough to make this up.

When I try to call to see how I can file for compensation on my broken, damaged, and stolen things, how I can get this bin back to its proper owner, and maybe to follow up on our movers possibly being drug mules, no answer. Of course.

Don't use Excalibur. If you're going to move a long way and are considering going with them for your moving needs, instead just collect all your stuff in a big pile and light it all on fire. You'll be less stressed out for less time.

If you want pictures of my things, how broken and squashed it all showed up, I'd be glad to share, just drop me a comment.

If you were the move with KP0632 Blue stickers, also contact me! I'd like to get you your stuff back.

Run ? Run ? Run.

Nightmare. I already posted a review about our nightmare move, which involved sheer incompetence, greed, lying, and [EDIT].

We filed a complaint with the BBB and Excalibur agreed to an $800 refund for the packing materials they charged for but did not provide. When I reached out to turn to organize the refund they hung up on me dozens of times during business hours, laughed at me, gave me the run around, and once put me on hold for 2+ hours when I was still naive enough to think they gave a [EDIT]. Great Local Move.

You can trust Excalibur Moving Group. Moving is typically a stressful event--Excalibur helped make my last move much better than any previous move I've had to make.

Their customer service staff was very helpful and patient with all of my questions, and I never had any doubt that they knew what they were doing and were taking good care of me.

Their staff is friendly and professional, and everything was moved and placed just were I wanted, without a single damaged item. I'll definitely be using these guys again.

Amazing service!

My fiance got offered a job in Texas, after having lived in New York for 10 years. For 7 of those, we've lived in the same apartment, and accumulated so much stuff that our friends have called us hoarders before.
It goes without saying we were very nervous about how we were going to pack up our whole lives and all our belongings and send them across the country. I did quite a bit of research in determining which company to use, and Excalibur had amazing service reps that eased my fears over the phone. The pricing is very reasonable, and the actual move itself didn't let us down. We have a few vintage pieces we've picked up over the years, and the movers did an amazing job with keeping them safe. Hopefully we won't be moving any time soon, but if we do, we're definitely going with Excalibur again!

EMG = Heavenly Experience.

The Excalibur Moving Group is the best moving company I’ve ever dealt with. I’m no stranger when it comes to moving across state lines, and I’ve had many bad experiences, but not with EMG! The the staff was proficient, kind, and helpful with my move from Florida to Texas. I have two kids under three now, and I was worried about moving with them. EMG relieved that stress! I got to focus on my kids, while they safely moved my furniture hundreds of miles away. To top it off, my quote matched the final price! The entire process was flawless! I barely lifted a thing. The movers had great personalities, and we formed a little bond! I will be using EMG for my next big move! Thanks guys!

Awesome Moving Experience.

As an Interior Designer, I get more worried about my furniture than regular people. Just thinking of any of my precious pieces getting compromised in the process of moving pushed my anxiety to a new level. When I got a job offer at a Design Firm in Florida after living in New York for quite a bit, I was already stressed out about all the big changes that were happening in my life at the moment. I didn’t need the extra anxiety from the moving. I’m used to moving furniture from place to place, but this time it was my babies we were talking, pieces I collected throughout my entire carrier that means a lot to me. Thank god I found Excalibur Moving Group, they made the job so easy. I must say I had my doubts at first and believe me I am as bossy as someone can be. But it was great working with them. Everything got intact and on time to my home. The crew was great, they even tolerated me bossing around and all. I would really recommend them, I’ll even consider using them with my clients in a near future. Also, the price compared to the quote was almost the same.

Great Service!

I don’t usually submit reviews, but I had to make sure to give props to Excalibur Moving Group for making my move so easy! My family has amassed so much stuff over the years (much of it isn’t necessities but we like to buy things) and it would be so difficult to move on our own. Though we like to buy a lot of stuff, we are frugal and want to find the best deal we can. After some research, we found Excalibur. It looked like a reliable company that wouldn’t force me to sell my kidney in order to afford it. I’m so glad I made this decision! They were so gracious in our move and understood the stress that it can put on a family. They took all the pressure off of us and treated our belongings like they were theirs. 10/10 I would definitely use them again.

Setting it all up was user-friendly, their communication was great, and they took great care of my haul. Great for Cross Country Move.

The end of the school year came way quicker than I had anticipated. I looked around and realized I accumulated wayy more "Stuff" than I'd like to admit. After calling my parents it became abundantly clear that it was absolutely necessary to hire professional movers. Leaving New York to go back to Indiana was not going to be possible by myself. My single bedroom apartment was practically full, and there was no way I was renting a uHaul to make that trip myself. I was skeptical about hiring movers, but after doing some research I was extremely happy about settling on Excalibur. Their service was exceptional and the process was seamless. I'd gladly recommend them to anyone looking to move long-distance. They even allowed me the option to have them pack my belongings for me! I didn't need this, but its a nice service they offer.

Do Not Use Excalibur or West Coast Movers.

Do NOT use Excalbur and the companies it brokers to. Specifically West Coast Movers. The letter that follows was sent a month ago AFTER two weeks of trying to reach someone for a response , and I still have not had anyone get back with me to resolve the issue. Before signing a "contract", the representative for the company told me to get online and do an inventory of my furniture and he would take care of the box count etc based on questions he asked me about our house size and number of occupants, I was VERY UPFRONT about the size of the furniture. He said not to worry he would estimate the number of boxes (& food storage) count based on my answers. Come to find out, he never but down the boxes in my quote, the one they sent me to review and sign. I have to say, Exzcalibur is GREAT, until you sign the contract and then I couldn't get anyone to call me back for the world! I have been told at least 6 times they were "looking into things" and would get back to me and here I am over a month later and still waiting. I FINALLY received a call from the delivery driver who is supposed to be coming this weekend with NO RESOLUTION on my final charge! I will be paying MORE THAN DOUBLE what my quote was!! I was honest in my accounting. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! It's worse than a scam! I would rather have loaded and hauled everything across country as a single woman than to deal with them again. For your reading pleasure, here is my letter to the company and "the rest of the story" (so FRUSTRATING!!) Original quote: UNDER $3,000/ PAID to date $4073 with another $3173 due upon delivery for a TOTAL $ 7,246.
Paying another $3,000+ is a huge financial burden for our family and yet, what choice do I have?: Requested date for final delivery: 08/15/2018, due to be delivered: 08/26/2018 (I had read reviews, I know this is not unusual and that's okay)

Dear Louis & whomever else this matter concerns-

Reference #: C5079103

I am writing regarding my recent experience with your company, Excalibur Moving Group. I am very unhappy with my experience so far & feel very taken advantage of! I have called and left you at least THREE messages over the course the week of July 9th, with no return call. Up until then, I had been happy with the customer service process. Then, I experienced some rather big issues, which follow, I have also left a message for Walter who is the representative that called to do a review of my final inventory on July 10th and he has not answered or returned my call either. Then, on July 16th I called customer service twice before reaching someone. I was told they would look into it and call me by the next day, I still have not received any communication in regards to this matter to date. I never had an issue with my calls being answered or returned prior to signing my contract and feel as though I am being avoided since then. Which of course has me even more frustrated and ready to look into legal counsel or reporting this incident to the BBB. I would like to avoid this if possible, per term 19 (terms and conditions) please consider this my written request to resolve this dispute.

During the review with Walter, early last week, it was discovered that no moving boxes had been put onto my estimate/inventory list by the first person who initially reviewed my quote. I had discussed both boxes as well as food storage with Louis and that was missed in the quote as well. Unfortunately, this did not even cross my mind when I was speaking with Walter as being an issue as it had been discussed previously. As Walter stated, this is standard and should never have been missed on Excalibur Moving Group’s end. Of course, this increased my cost on the back side. When Walter and I spoke, I should have objected to this increase in cost, but I didn’t, I agreed to pay the increase and tried to be understanding of the oversite on Excalibur’s part. When I was initially sent the inventory list at the beginning of this journey, I was asked to review my “furniture inventory” and sign off on it. I did that. It did not even occur to me that the boxes or food storage should be on this list as well, I had only ever been asked to list my furniture. I had answered questions about the number of rooms in my house, along with the number of people living there as I was unsure as to how many boxes we would have. My understanding was that these questions were being asked so that the number of boxes could be determined/estimated on your end.

Another thing that is really frustrating to me about this, is that Louis and I had several conversations in which I expressed concerns about my items being large and bulky, he assured me that space was not an issue as a semi-truck would be coming to pick things up and that my estimate was based on weight and not cubic or square feet, all I needed to worry about was listing my furniture pieces accurately and I would be fine. He also assured me that transporting bicycles wouldn’t be an issue and even sent pictures of the inside of a truck with a cage type thing which would enable bicycles to be attached safely and securely from the ceiling of the “semi-truck”. My husband even called to make sure our understanding of things was accurate as he didn’t want to leave me here in Utah by myself if this wasn’t the case. He verified everything and was then able to head out to South Carolina knowing that Excalibur was taking care of these types of things. However, this wasn’t the case. A semi-truck did not pick up our household belongings and the truck that came did not have the proper bicycle transportation setup as discussed. According to the movers that showed up, the ones contracted by your company and not actual employees of Excalibur Moving Group, prices are based on cubic footage and not weight at all. The mover knew immediately that my cost would likely increase from what I was quoted. At that point, with time schedules being what they were, I really had very little choice, what is a person supposed to do? I believe your company knows this, misleads or flat out lies to people and takes full advantage of these type of situations! I had to do something to get my belongings out to South Carolina. Knowing that I had been upfront and accurate with the information I provided, I moved forward.

However, in addition to the issues listed above, the movers were supposed to show up on Thursday or Friday, they called and verified they would be there Friday between 4:00 – 6:00 pm. I was later called and told they were running late and they wouldn’t be able to make it on Friday. I was then rescheduled until Saturday between 11:00 – 1:00. On Saturday, 1:00 came and went, shortly after that time I was notified that the movers were again running late as their last two jobs had gone over their allotted space and listed items (another indicator this is a very common issue in “estimating” one’s belonging size). Finally, at about 6:30 pm Saturday, they showed up. However, they did not show up in a semi-truck as promised but a Penske truck, one that I could have rented myself, in addition it was loaded with two other client’s belongings. I explained the circumstances and showed the movers my belongings and it was agreed that all our stuff would not fit into the space projected. We decided to wait until the next morning when they could reach the West Coast Mover office (which is the group you contracted with) to decide what to do. After speaking with Brittany at West Coast Mover’s office Sunday morning and learning that it would be AT LEAST another week before they could reschedule my job to have a larger truck sent, so that all of our belongings could be loaded on the same truck together. I was told that if I separated my belongings it should only be a 2 – 5 day wait to have the second portion picked up. I was assured by Brittany that all our belongings, whether loaded onto the same load initially or picked up at two different times, would all be taken to the same location in Las Vegas where they would be sent off to South Carolina all at the same time. Due to my time constraints, I went ahead and agreed to have them come Sunday to load my belongings, hoping that everything would all fit, dreading the possibility that my belongings may have to be separated onto two separate loads. The movers finally arrived after 1:00 pm on Sunday. We worked together until almost 11:00 at night in order to fit in as many belongings as possible. Unfortunately, not all our belongings made it onto that truck. I was told West Coast would contact me by Wednesday, finally on Thursday, I called and the dispatcher didn’t seem to know a thing about my second load. She had to call the movers in the area and arrange to have them pick up the remainder on Friday “morning”. This ended up being around 11:00 am before they arrived.

In addition to all of this, included rearranging my work schedule and my travel timeline, I was charged over double what I had agreed to on the initial moving estimate as well as another $1200 for the second portion of the load.

I had planned to pay approximately $1100 at the time of our property pickup and ended up paying $2572.97 for the first load and $600 for the second portion. This is in addition to the deposit of $924, that I had already paid on 6/11/2018. There is also $3,172.97 due upon final delivery. This will be a grand total of $7,269.94. Which is more than double what was originally quoted at $2948.39. Please refer to term number 9 (in terms and conditions) “customer has elected a “binding to not exceed” price, the total cost will not exceed the estimated amount: provided, however that customer provides Excalibur Moving Group with an accurate description of the items to be moved and the services to be performed. Customer has requested to have an estimate provided his/her household goods relocation, in accordance with 49CFR 371.113©(1). Customer agrees to waive physical survey of the household goods, and alternatively agrees to receive a binding to not exceed estimate based upon the shipper provider item list of property to be transported. If any additional pieces, packing services, weight or labor services are added at the origin or destination to be quoted, the customer shall be charged for these services at the governing tariff rates……

I maintain that I was totally honest and accurate with my inventory accounting, as per the above. I did miss a couple of things, but not enough to double the quote. (a generator and a saw)

I would like a response back as to how we can resolve this in a civil manner. If we are unable to, I will write my review on your site as well as move forward with legal counsel in this matter.

Sincerely,.

Long-distance move from Indianapolis, IN to Fort Rucker, AL

Avoid Excalibur.

I can’t find one positive thing to say about this company. The people in the office Maria, Steven and Nicole were easily the rudest people I have ever communicated with. There was a complete lack of professionalism.

An abbreviated story of my move:

I booked my move with Excalibur Moving Group back in January. My move was from Indianapolis to Fort Rucker, Alabama so I could join my husband who is an army pilot. The move was scheduled for May 15th. However on May 14th they tried to call me and say that they were going to have to pick up my items on either the 16th or 17th, which would break the terms of our contract. I called angrily and received confirmation that they would in fact arrive on May 15th. The movers showed up two hours late and informed me that I would be charged $75 per person per hour due to my apartment “being far from the elevator.” I had to hold items while they taped things and pick up all their trash, which is not my job.

I was asked when I wanted my items delivered and I said May 18th. He said that sounded doable since it wasn’t that far of a drive. However, after my items were taken that is when everything went terribly. I did not receive my items until June 11th!! Almost a month after the fact. I was never given an answer as to where my items were kept. I had four failed deliveries, which is ridiculous because I work and my husband is an active duty pilot so he can’t just take off work. Due to the failed deliveries I lost time at work!!

The movers showed up at 9:30 at night, which I believe is so that people can’t see their items and it’s late so you don’t monitor them as you otherwise would. I 100% believe that Spirit (company who did my move) employs illegal workers. One of the workers did not have identification. Regardless, as soon as they opened up the truck door my kitchen table came flying out and shattered. My brand new chair and couch were ripped, I had missing items, broken items, etc. Oh and I was charged an additional $480 something because my weight went up, but failed to ever receive a weight ticket. So I am sure that was a complete lie, but they said they wouldn’t deliver if I didn’t pay.

The customer service was terrible for both Excalibur and Spirit!! The owner of Spirit, Eli, is a misogynist and extremely rude not to mention completely clueless and worthless when it comes to what is going on with his company. The Director of Operations for Excalibur, Steven Ericsson, alerted me that my move “took years off of his life!” Well imagine how I feel. I easily spent 25 hours on the phone with these people if not more trying to get an answer as to when my items would get delivered. We finally received a reimbursement check that bounced. It bounced for $100. How does a National Moving company bounce a $100 Check??

Now I am in the claims portion of my move and filed my claim over a month ago and have yet to hear anything about compensation. This moving experience was absolutely horrible. They treat military families terrible so I can only imagine how they treat other families. No one ever needs to deal with this and I strongly urge that this company be shut down. They are predatory and have wronged so many.

Long-distance move from Lakeville, MN to Fort Mill, SC

Horrible- STAY AWAY.

STAY AWAY from this moving company! This company made our move so much stressful and I swear that we would never want to move again just because of them. So initially they contacted us and talked about how great the moving company is and bla bla. They would call us everyday to get the business from us. But once they got the deposit they didn't bother much. Called us just a day before to confirm the pick up and then again there pick up time changed many times. There reviews are great and I am not sure if it is genuine at all because of the experience I had. They are NOT professional and all they care is just the money. No person came in for initial visit to give us an estimate. They gave us estimate based on the count and when the day of move in came. They over charged us like $1700 more. They hired another moving company and they had no idea what excalibur had quoted us and said it didn't matter. Delay on delivery and they would give us heads up on short notice. Not just that, when we received our item there were few people that were damaged and I have been calling them frequently to get it taken care of but they don't return your call back and every time you call them they say the will get back to you. Very frustrated with the entire team and how things have been handled. JUST go with another moving company. Highly NOT recommended.

Long-distance move from Irvine, CA to McKinney, TX

Speechless.

I don't understand how this company is still in business. I am currently working with an attorney and will do everything I can to make sure this business goes out of business. For all the pain my family has gone through, it was a horrible experience. Its been almost 30 days and we still don't have our items. God only knows if we are even going to get them. Now that they see this review, I might get all my things damaged like everyone else. They lie, they don't return calls, say derogatory things and basically don't care about their clients. Please contact me directly and I can go into more detail of our horrible experience.

Crooks, unprofessional and master-liers! You’re better off leaving your household goods behind than having any sort of business with these scams! If you are so desperate b/c zombies have taken over the world and no other entitiy can do your move then fine call these losers, but if Greg Hogan happens to pick-up the phone hang the F up!! He is the original sleaze unable to make anything happen! He talks a big talk to sell you his worthless quote, but once you pay the intial deposit updront good luck catching him or team after that! They quote way low to lure potential saps only to Screw you over after!! Its b/c of companies like this that give other movers such a bad reputation! The whole industry should try and revoke their licence, if they actually have a ligitimate one! We ended up havig to hire and pay another moving company. Stay away from these people and save yourself pain, stress, and money!!

Long-distance move from Boise, ID to Ponte Vedra Beach, FL

Stole my personal belongings.

Horrible, horrible company. I cancelled midway through knowing I would have the fight to get my deposit returned but at this point, no confidence in the business handlings, I cancelled, told the company and third-party driver verbally, the deal was off. Cancelled. The third party movers and Excalibur took my belongings anyway, without permission, and are now refusing to give me my personal belongings. I am in the process of obtaining legal representation in taking legal action against Excalibur Moving Group and their hired third party transport company. They are currently in the possession of my belongings illegally.

DO NOT USE THEM!
