Dumbo Moving and Storage

We moved from Texas to Maryland, Dumbo Movers showed up at the new house. Only driver showed up. Waited 2 hours for help, one person showed up. Driver was arrogant and disrespectful, called cops on him. Broke hundreds of dollars of furniture and household items. Driver gave me a fake number to call. Driver took off while we weren’t paying attention, didn’t unload everything into the house, left it outside. Abandoned the guy that came to help him, had to take him to gas station to catch a bus. Awful experience, stay away from this company. I have pictures and documents to prove my situation.

I couldn't be happier with the service provided by Pavel and his team at Dumbo Moving. From the moment they arrived, they were fast, careful, and extremely efficient in packing my belongings for a cross-country move. They arrived on time and handled my belongings with the utmost care. Everything was wrapped so carefully by him and his team. Such professionalism by all involved. You can ask for unique requests, and they are happy to accommodate. I can't thank them enough. This was the easiest and best move experience in Manhattan between coop elevator buildings! Bella supplied a price quote, insurance certificates, information on reserving freight elevators in both buildings—all with good humor! Valentin and his crew came on time, with tools and bags to wrap mattress & boxspring. They were careful and obviously experienced—completely professional. I recommend them to get you through the complicated, stressful requirements of a move in or out of NYC. They are the perfect blend of professionalism and helpfulness. Thank you Dumbo, it takes a magical flying elephant to get through a move in NYC!

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: $300

I had approximately 50 Home Depot boxes and loose household items for them to place in storage before my family move me to my destination. Dumbo workers complained and gave me lip service about having to remove my property from the house, however, their boss new how many boxes I had and the size of my home, so I paid them $400.00 under the table. The company asked me to remove my review and they will refund the $400.00, which I did. However, they did not compensate me for a willing and acceptable loss of $800.00 of several stolen boxes of irreplaceable personal items and I subsequently realized it included Income Tax return documents stolen by their workers! I am a single woman employed with U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, Immigration & ICE, realizing they have stolen identity documents, I now have to file a report and also report them about their business practices in the United States. This truly has now turned out to be a Serious matter! My sincere advice and hoping they did not use my personal information, is to stay away and avoid this company!

Since the first moving company I booked with ditched me at the last minute, I made sure to give myself plenty of time to find a replacement. Everyone I encountered went out of their way to be nice, answer my questions, and look out for me and my stuff. Having Nelson arrange pick-up and drop-off was a breeze. I appreciate that the same crew and truck that picked up my stuff delivered it to my new place of residence two days later. I will be using this company again in the near future.

Having never needed help before I was very reluctant to hire movers. While discussing moving my property at Home Depot with a friend. I was approached by individuals that were in Home Depot parking lot. I personally do not like to hire people from the street. I understand why people do because you believe it’s going to be cheaper. The two individuals gave me a price to move my property less than 5 miles. I declined and started looking for movers online. I called several and either prices were crazy or the staff in the office were rude. I ended up calling Dumbo and immediately knew I was hiring them just by the pleasant person I was speaking to. Imagine my surprise when they were the lowest price of all the people I did call. Not only that the individuals at Home Depot were the highest priced. They were able to do the job the very next day. The workers were very pleasant, professional, and efficient. They took better care of my property. Even better than I would’ve done. Better than I think anyone would’ve done. I still have not finished straightening everything up from delivery. I had to stop and give this company and it’s workers an outstanding review. My one regret is all the years I wasted doing it myself. It was such a wonderful experience I wish I had another move to do. If the time comes when I need to move anything again I will not waste my time looking up any other movers this will be my first and last call.
