Dumbo Moving and Storage

We moved from Texas to Maryland, Dumbo Movers showed up at the new house. Only driver showed up. Waited 2 hours for help, one person showed up. Driver was arrogant and disrespectful, called cops on him. Broke hundreds of dollars of furniture and household items. Driver gave me a fake number to call. Driver took off while we weren’t paying attention, didn’t unload everything into the house, left it outside. Abandoned the guy that came to help him, had to take him to gas station to catch a bus. Awful experience, stay away from this company. I have pictures and documents to prove my situation.

This was the easiest and best move experience in Manhattan between coop elevator buildings! Bella supplied a price quote, insurance certificates, information on reserving freight elevators in both buildings—all with good humor! Valentin and his crew came on time, with tools and bags to wrap mattress & boxspring. They were careful and obviously experienced—completely professional. I recommend them to get you through the complicated, stressful requirements of a move in or out of NYC. They are the perfect blend of professionalism and helpfulness. Thank you Dumbo, it takes a magical flying elephant to get through a move in NYC!

I couldn't be happier with the service provided by Pavel and his team at Dumbo Moving. From the moment they arrived, they were fast, careful, and extremely efficient in packing my belongings for a cross-country move. They arrived on time and handled my belongings with the utmost care. Everything was wrapped so carefully by him and his team. Such professionalism by all involved. You can ask for unique requests, and they are happy to accommodate. I can't thank them enough. Grade A++++

Having never needed help before I was very reluctant to hire movers. While discussing moving my property at Home Depot with a friend. I was approached by individuals that were in Home Depot parking lot. I personally do not like to hire people from the street. I understand why people do because you believe it’s going to be cheaper. The two individuals gave me a price to move my property less than 5 miles. I declined and started looking for movers online. I called several and either prices were crazy or the staff in the office were rude. I ended up calling Dumbo and immediately knew I was hiring them just by the pleasant person I was speaking to. Imagine my surprise when they were the lowest price of all the people I did call. Not only that the individuals at Home Depot were the highest priced. They were able to do the job the very next day. The workers were very pleasant, professional, and efficient. They took better care of my property. Even better than I would’ve done. Better than I think anyone would’ve done. I still have not finished straightening everything up from delivery. I had to stop and give this company and it’s workers an outstanding review. My one regret is all the years I wasted doing it myself. It was such a wonderful experience I wish I had another move to do. If the time comes when I need to move anything again I will not waste my time looking up any other movers this will be my first and last call.

If you're looking for movers who specialize in watching you work while they provide stellar background "entertainment," look no further! This crew is masterful at whining, phone-scrolling, and sneaking cigarette breaks, all while managing to avoid moving anything themselves. The few boxes they did pack? A delightful surprise—shattered items from every room thrown together like a chaotic scavenger hunt. Bubble wrap or paper? Never heard of it! New sofa cushions? Straight to the floor of the van, unwrapped of course! Curious where the closest available UHaul location is? You'll find it when you have to rent a last minute truck to do the move yourself. Oh, and they’ll leave early, half-finished, after pestering you for a tip. Hands down, the worst movers we've had in 5 NYC moves. Please, do yourself a favor and either do it yourself for free or use truly any other company.

I recently hired Dumbo Moving Company for a move from my one-bedroom apartment and had a truly frustrating experience. Initially, I was quoted a binding price . However, just before the move, the quote increased due to additional boxes for TVs and monitors. Despite this, the movers didn’t provide the promised monitor boxes and used flimsy cardboard ones, which was unacceptable for protecting my items.

The day of the move was chaotic. The truck was loaded poorly and ran out of space, leading to an unexpected extra charge. Despite paying an additional , the movers still couldn’t fit everything and left several items behind, including my bed and mattress, which they then hastily reloaded, claiming it was a favor.

To top it all off, I was pressured into giving a $1,000 tip, despite the poor service and additional costs. In the end, the move cost me around three times the original quote. I’m extremely dissatisfied with the service and recommend avoiding Dumbo Moving Company.
