They were very reliable and did great

The movers here were great and on time. They worked hard despite the ran we had a while back. It's also been very cold, but that didn't stop them at all. I called around in an attempt to try and find a mover that could help with very little notice. Highlawn Movers came through when they said they would. The movers were nice and lifted a lot of very heavy things. It didn't slow them down one bit. David was great to communicate with as well and gave updates often.

Horrible Experience!

What a horrible experience. I would HIGHLY advise you to look elsewhere. Don't be fooled by their initial low quote. You will end up regretting it.

- Held furniture hostage until I paid an extra $475!

- Damaged Desk and Couch

- Stole at least $2,000 worth of items (I am still compiling a list)

- Owner blocked me

- Lawsuit pending

I hired them to help with my mothers moving job.

These movers were supper efficient and on time with our move. I had them remotely move my mother which was done without any problems. They made the entire moving experience extremely easy for us. I feel they provided a great service and the price was reasonable. I'll be saving their information given I need them in the future.

These movers came through

They came through when others were lacking. I called around to get multiple quotes and they were the only ones that could come through with very little notice. I'm happy with how the move went and I would recommend them to family and friends.

Long-distance move from New York to Florida

Great Service.

Moved From NY to FL. As promised service was very reliable. all our items were carefully packed and besides one lamp that was slightly bent everything was in tact. We received our Items within the time frame that was promised. Price was very compatible, not  the lowest we got but certainly a lot lower then some of the companies out there. The crew was friendly and professional, I already recommended them to my co-worker and will definitely recommend this guys.

Overal ok, very sneaky.

These people definitely have the men who know how to do a move. They arrived on time, they were quick, very quick in fact, and efficient. They moved all pieces of furniture in a zippy. However, there were a few things I did not like. First of all, they did not disclose that we would have to cover the cost of tolls. This was never an issue until we changed are a method of payment from money order to cash. Hmmm all of a sudden, there were additional charges. I call bs. The customer rep "Susan" was very nice and friendly over the phone assuring the company does not scam people. She kept repeating that. (very odd thing to say to a prospective client.) I asked her for the specific dollar amount in which we would be paying and she said: "450 flat, the only other money you would need is if you decide to tip our men" which was agreed upon. We were going to pay money order (they only accept money order or cash. No credit or debit cards, which again was weird but whatever) once the mover packed everything into the truck he "All of a sudden" said we needed to pay his tolls. Mind you, he never mentioned the tools before. Needless to say, I called the company furious, he allegedly had to pay $20 in tolls which he was asking me to pay him! And $20 to go back! Another thing I will mention, the mover kept insisting to me if I had cash, it would be better to pay in cash. I told him no I already bought the money order for the dollar amount. He said cash is better, making me feel very uncomfortable. Very unprofessional. Long story short, after calling the company and disputing the argument, the rep Susan asked the mover to show receipt of the $20 toll he had paid. He could not provide a receipt! Of course!  After I ended my conversation with Susan, the mover turned to me and said "Fine, just give me $15 then" [EDIT]? Needless to say, I will not be using this company ever again and if I had to give a suggestion, it would look early. Look for a reputable moving company and be willing to pay the money they ask for. It is much better than having to deal with scammers. Less of a headache. .

Shady Business Practice.

I chose Highlawn Moving and Storage because the estimate they gave was among the lowest and the representative, Josh C. seemed honest and friendly. Unfortunate my first impressions changed drastically on the day of the move.

First of all, the term "binding estimate" means nothing to this company. When asked if I would be charged extra if the job took longer, Josh C. assured me that it would not. However, at the end of the job, the workers tried to charge me for the extra time they put in.

But the worst part of my experience with Highlawn was the broken stone step that incurred when one of the workers knocked over a heavy concrete planter onto the ground. Rather than tell me about it, I had to find out from my ex-landlord when I returned to collect my security deposit. Well, it may come at no surprise that the foreman on the job denied having broken the step, claiming that the planter missed the step and it "must have already been cracked". They further claimed that the step broke when one of the workers stepped on it after they dropped the planter. Strange coincidence, isn't it?

Well now that the step has been repaired and I submitted the receipt for damages, the most Josh C. is willing to pay is half the repair cost. After a month from the move, they are no longer returning my calls, forcing me to file a court claim. What a big surprise!
Do not picked this company. It may seem like you're saving money, but in the end, it may cost you much more.

Long-distance move from New Jersey to Georgia

Smooth & to the Point.

Moved from New Jersey to Georgia in May. I booked 2 weeks in advance to secure my space. The guys came to my house picked up the items, packed them using blankets, packed up anything loose using the free boxes that were offered initially. My move was was average size and no special packing requirements except for an extra large mirror which they helped me pack professionally to avoid any damages. They were very helpful and they were hardworking. They were done packing the truck within 4 hours leaving me with enough time to get my house cleaned up before leaving. The price was about $70.00 more than what was quote, only because I had added a small item that I over looked initially when giving the item list for the price quote.

My items were delivered to me in Georgia two days after I arrived there, which was a day earlier than I had expected. This was okay because I was informed the day before of arrival. Everything was unpacked for me and placed where I wanted it, so that I did not have too much shifting around to do.

Anyway, I was satisfied with this move, especially since I did everything via email. I am not the phone person and they were very quick in responding to my every question and gave the clarity I needed without the run around. I send over 12 emails back and forth, and the personal service sold me. My sales person Carla, was very knowledgeable and her writing showed her professionalism to the job. I am happy with my decision and will recommend Highlawn to Family & Friends.

Long-distance move from North Arlington, NJ to Fort Worth, TX

Unprofessional and major delays.

Damaged my furniture and was a 2 week delay in delivery! Have yet to address my claims for damages since July 2016 and it's nearly end of October now. Also upon delivery they charged me extra saying there were too many stairs when I clearly told them I'm on the second floor!! Worth spending a little more and going for a better company who is more professional and more responsible.
