City-Removals and Storage

I cannot recommend City-Removals enough.  From start to finish they did an excellent job moving our two bed flat into storage.  The estimator gave lots of useful information and put up with my chopping and changing dates and addresses!  The removal guys instantly put us at ease and were absolutely meticulous, really careful with the furniture and tireless hard workers (4.5 hours loading up the van!).  We were advised after the first couple of hours that we were going to need a bigger storage container, and as we arranged this ourselves, it meant we could phone ahead to the storage company and up to a 100 sq ft to avoid any last minute problems.  It was refreshing to come across a company who actually cares about the job they do (after dealing for months with estate agents etc!) Thanks so much, we will be calling on you again to move our stuff back out of storage!

Service cost: £460

Full packing and moving service provided by City Removals and they performed this efficiently and without complaint despite my underestimation of the size of the job.  The move from a 1 bedroom flat to larger bungalow went smoothly and effectively and I would happily utilise their services again.  The overall price was 590 GBP including packing service and packaging.  No objects were damaged and all breakable were carefully wrapped and handled.  The crew were flexible when changes in plans were required.

I do not have anything bad to say about them!  They have been absolutely fantastic and made our house move smooth and easy. I was dreading moving house with my 2.5years old twins, but City Removals made the whole experience abosolutely stress free.  They were punctual, extremely professional, polite, kind and very helpful.  The team we had was very hard working (and that was on Saturday and Sunday!), and they never complained about anything. No scratch on the walls, no furnitures damaged.. not a single problem to report.   On the Sunday (the actual moving day) it was raining a lot, and the new house had beige carpets all over.  The three members of team removed their shoes every single time they walked in the house, without us asking!  Absolutely nothing got dirty. A week or so after the move, I called to enquire whether they would collect the empty boxes from us, and they sent someone just a few hours later. I could not recommend more this company, and will most definitely use them again next time!

The whole experience was a pleasant one and good value compared to other firms I've used before. The pre-move visit was conducted very professionally and we felt we would be looked after. On the move day, we had slightly more garden furniture than would fit in the van, so this was picked up and delivered soon after, at a convenient time. The team worked tirelessly and were extremely careful with our belongings. We had an expensive extendable glass table (with a sensitive mechanism), which was disassembled and put back together in perfect working order. The move took slightly longer than planned, due to the extra care around our fragile packing, but this wasn't an issue. I would definitely recommend City Removals if you value great service and a reasonable rate. I researched many firms beforehand and this firm stands above all their competitors I got quotes for. In addition, they were very flexible, where other large names firms can charge you for being one minute past your key handover slot etc. 10/10.

Extremely good service. We moved from a 4 bedroom flat in Kensington to a 4 bedroom house in Barnet. We went for the full packing and moving service. The move was conducted over 2 days by a 3 men crew on each day. Very polite very hard working guys willing to do anything to keep us happy. The first day was quite long, with the guys finishing around 11PM , but they have done all the packing and more than half of our belongings were moved to the new house. I find it extraordinary how they can work so long and still be cheerful and willing to help. Around 5 PM my wife went and bought some McDonalds for all of them and that was the only proper brake they took all day. The second day was much easier, and they managed to finish by 5PM. Nothing was damaged or stolen. Also we have finished unpacking some of the kitchen boxes , and we were amazed at how much tissue they used. We have around 10 plastic bin bags full of tissue paper  so far. Very good and professional service all around. The pre move visit was also done very professional by Nicola(thank you Nicola). She won our trust immediately, and although their price was not the cheapest( I think somewhere in the middle) we decided to go with them. In the end I must say that I would recommend this company to anyone as we were extremely satisfied and happy with the services we received.

Service cost: £1680

I came across this company whilst reading removal reviews. They had the most reviews and were the most highy rated.I am very pleased to endorse that assessment. From the quote(online) through to the site visit and the actual move itself, they were all efficient, professional and friendly. Their quote was a quarter of the price of another quote we had and the cheapest of all five quotes.Whilst this wasn't the main factor,it certainly helped. The removal men on the day worked extremely hard and had to undertake another return trip from london to kent which they did without complaint! An excellent all round service.Cant recommend highly enough.
This was a move from London to Kent but the review menu didn't seem to allow me to put in Kent!

Service cost: £680

What can I say but a huge "Thank you", very professional from quotation to moving my contents? They even put my new bed together which was still in its original packaging. The removal guys rang me to say  how long they will be, the vans are new, clean and display their company logo, the company organised the parking dispensation for me, which I felt was a big stress of my shoulders. The removal guys packed the van in such a way that everything was secure, and in a safe position in the van as too not cause damage. We where packing on the same day as moving and they did not mind as we where juggling kids and furniture so stress levels where extremely high. I can honestly say, this company I would recommend, make sure you get a representative to come round and see the items you want moving so the quote is clear and also you and them are transparent on price and on moving day.

100 per cent satisfied and more. We hired this company to pack our stuff and then move us into our new house. The service provided was nothing short of excellent with no problems and no stress at all
Their crew were very fast and did a wonderful job at packing, which lasted around 5 hours. I find this amazing as if I were to pack myself I think it would have taken me 1 whole week…lol?.
On the move day they turned up on time. Loading went on very well and we left our flat at around 1PM.Inititaly we thought it would take around 3 hours to load but only because they were extra careful it took a bit longer. No complaints here.
Once at our new house they put everything where we wanted. They even assembled a wardrobe that was just delivered.
I am not sure how big they are or since when they have been on the market, but their service certainly is a very good one. We moved before which we thought was good, but this time it was excellent. Thank you.

City Removals provided an excelelnt movnng service and experience.   The staff at Head Office were very polite, professional, hepful and the price quoted was the final price.    They took care of securing parking in front of our flat with the Borough and only charged us what the actual cost was.    We had our flat completely packed by them the day before the move and moved out the following day. They were on time, efficient, polite and nothing was broken or damaged and the price was very reasonable compared to the other moving companies I had quotes from.

Service cost: £850

The most professional firm we have ever dealt with. Before the move they sent someone to do a free home survey, which was very reassuring. A very nice lady, Nicola, came and saw our house. In a few hours’ time we got a quote via e-mail, which was more than reasonable. It was not the cheapest and also not the most expensive, but the fact that they came to see our house (very few companies agreed to this) and also the positive reviews we read on this website made u`s to accept their quote.   On the actual move day the staff was very polite, professional and accommodating. We could not have asked for more. Everything went smoothly to the end. Also they expertly dismantled quite a lot of our furniture and reassembled it in our new house. They used covers for a lot of our furniture which was very nice to see (I have made some pictures and will post soon).   So nothing bad to say about this lot and would recommend without hesitation. Thanks.

I have used this company yesterday for my flat move. Chose them after reading impressive reviews about them on this website. They came early in the morning and firstly packed  up everything in my flat. This took them about 3 hours and then another 3 hours to load everything in the truck. They were very professional in everything they have done and took very good care of all my stuff. I did not have that much furniture but a standard 2 bedroom flat. Also they assembled a double bed for me which was just delivered at the new flat, which was very nice from them. Very hard working and polite staff. All of them spoke good English and were very responsive to all my queries. So, cannot fault the service provided and would definitely use again and recommend to others.Thanks.

I used City Removals when moving from a shared house to a flat and taking a large bed, chest of drawers, two side tables and a big TV plus over a dozen large boxes.
They arrived promptly at 7am, had everything in the van by 7:30, crossed London, and had the furniture and boxes in place at the new flat by 9am.
By far the least stressful move I've ever experienced. In addition, the head office were very helpful when answering my questions prior to the move, nothing was too much trouble.
I highly recommend them.

We have moved from a 2 bedroom flat on a second floor with no lift to a house. I have used City removals after a work colleague highly recommended them to me. I asked for a site survey before the move and 2 days later someone came and saw our property. I was a bit worried as we also have a 10 month old baby and we just wanted to move without any hassle or problems. The lady who did the site survey answered all our concerns and they also kept all the promises that she made on the move day.
Firstly a team of 2 men came and packed our flat and also loaded the boxes and some of the furniture in the truck , which was impressive. I think that the whole packing took them around 4 hours. Also I have watched the guy who was packing the kitchen and he was really doing a good job. I think my wife unpacked about 12 bags of tissue only from the kitchen boxes.
On the second day 3 men came and in about 4 hours we were ready to go. By 07:00 PM everything was in our new house. They also assembled the cot and our bed just in time for my wife to put the baby to sleep. Also all the men spoke good English, were overly polite and hard working.
We are very happy with the services we received from this company and would surely recommend them to anyone.

I can't express how good this company was to deal with, right from the start.
And it all finished with 2 very helpful, cheerful, polite movers making what can be a very stressful day a lot less so.
They were tidy and placed lots of protective coverings both on the floors and the furniture. Nothing was damaged and they helped to take items apart and back together when it was required.
I would and will happily recommend this company again to my friends.

I wanted to move the contents of a 3 bedroom flat in central London to a farm house in West Sussex (not Brighton, that's just the nearest place I could select on this website).  Some stuff was still in the flat but most was in storage a few miles away, so loading was done from two locations.  I got about a dozen quotes from different removal companies with a range of about £550-£750. City-Removals was somewhere near the middle of the pack in terms of price, but with so many good reviews on this website I decided to go with them.  I'm glad I did - the service was excellent and well worth the small extra cost (compared to the cheapest quote).  I thought that loading from two locations might add to the cost, or cause some problems, but City Removals were fine with it. I was away prior to the move so couldn't arrange a site survey, but City Removals were happy to proceed on the basis of my expectation that we'd need a 7.5T truck and two men. Communications were clear and straight-forward throughout.  On the day they actually provided two Lutons and two men, which was fine.  They were scheduled to arrive at 8am but arrived early, which gave us a good head start.  I'm selling the flat so was concerned that no damage was done to the walls, floors, or doors during the move.  The guys were very careful and did a great job.  Everything was wrapped in blankets and secured to the sides of the vans.  I had some items that needed to be dismantled and they made short work of those.  I also had one extremely tricky item - a treadmill- which had been constructed on-site.  I didn't think we'd get it out to be honest, but the guys were very persistent and after some careful and extremely tricky manoevering they managed to get it out without damaging any walls.  The guys headed off to the storage unit while I dealt with a few things, and didn't mind at all that I kept them waiting half an hour.  Loading from storage was fast and smooth, as was unloading at the other end.  All in all I can't fault the service.  Really excellent.  I would definitely use them again (and did in fact, when I moved my parents).

It was quite a big deal for me to fork out the money to pay for a removal company, but I'm very pleased I did. I found City Removals on this website and they were exceptionally well reviewed. Their experience and professionalism showed immediately as they got in touch regarding my gross underestimation of how many boxes I would need to move and gave me some advice as to how many men and what size van would be needed which proved very astute. They also looked into parking at both ends of the journey and made me feel very at ease with the whole process.

The move itself went very smoothly. The deliverymen were courteous, quick, strong, and worked without complaint. They beat us to the new property and everything was in in no time. They also took away some items we no longer wanted, including a last minute decision which was made after the prior items were already on their way to the recycling firm.

Service cost: £840

The two guys, Mike and Alex turned up on time and were thoroughly professional the whole day. Two nicer guys you will not meet, everything you want from movers, hard working, friendly and very helpful.
The guys went out of their way to get all my stuff packed into the truck (which they only just managed to do). They were very careful with my stuff and wouldn't let me help even when I offered.
I recommend these guys and this company for anyone moving.    .

We have recently moved out  of our 2 bedroom flat from Kensington to Wandsworth. We also had a home survey done, which helped us a lot in deciding which company to go with.Thier price came somewehre in the mid range, but we felt our best option is to go with them as we were impressed by the number of reviews they had.
All turned out as expected, with the crew being very proffessional and polite.Nothing was damaged or stollen, everything got completed on time and with no stress.
Also eveyrthing we were told during the home survey happened as the crew used covers, hanging boxes, wrapped things and were generaly very carefull.
They also came and collected the boxes and paper after we finished unpacking .
Very good company to work with.

I cannot recommend City Removals enough. I had a unique situation in that I had 2 locations for furniture pick-up (one from my childhood home and one from my rental flat) to drop off at a 3rd destination. I paid an incredibly reasonable price for 2 men with a large luton van to come to the first destination (zone 5 in London) to take down my wardrobe and bed and to do the same again at my rental property in Zone 1 London. At the end destination, they unloaded everything and re-assembled all furniture. They were 1) prompt at arrival 2) the van was absolutely unscratched demonstrating how careful the driver is 3) the men were not fluent English speakers but understood enough to do an excellent job and were hard-working, professional, clean and incredibly careful with my furniture and the surroundings at all 3 locations. They arrived at 9.30am (promptly) and were with us till 7.30pm. They were positive, courteous, obliging and couldn't be any more helpful despite non-stop lifting and going up and down many a flight of stairs. Since the move, I have recommended City Removals to many friends needing a referral. .
