City-Removals and Storage

We chose City removals primarily because they were the most responsive company to our request and accommodated last minute date move. I dealt with Silviu Bocan. The move was carried out on 2 days . The first problem was the people that did the move were different on both days so for instance team one packed everything and I was there to explain what was fragile and to be careful with unpacking. Team 2 had no idea , did the unpacking in some a haphazard manner - throwing books in a pile and so many covers were damaged. My printer plug was damaged and so it does not power on. The tv fell of the tv stand and some crystal candle holders were cracked. The carpet was dirty as the movers said it was too dangerous to take the shoes off. And the wall was damaged as the bed hit the corner of the wall when going up the stair case. They provided an insurance company to follow up with and not one of the claims were covered despite me having photos of everything as the reason was the city removals men said they did not see any of the damages and so were not liable. The wall and carpet damage were city removal responsibility not the insurance company and they did nothing about it and just said the it was now down to the insurance company to resolve the problem. they were extremely defensive on the phone and not service oriented at all.

We moved from SW London to Kent last week and City Removals were fantastic. They arrived on time and set straight to work packing everything away. The move itself was incredibly efficient, carpets protected in our new house as they moved things in, built all the furniture brilliantly. Everything was double wrapped and all boxes labelled clearly. We were incredibly impressed with their work ethic and attention to detail - would highly recommend this company to anyone.

City Removals were kindly recommended to us by our friends who recently used them.
The quote they gave us was highly competitive and the team was so helpful and professional in arranging our move.
We opted for two men and a van as we have decided to packing ourselves (didn't have much furniture as we lived in 1-bed rented flat).
The moving crew was friendly, careful and so fast and efficient. We will be using them again for future moves and would highly recommend them to everyone we know.

City Removals team made our move as smooth as possible and we are thankful for that!

Very good service from start to finish, the chap who came to
measure up, etc. was very courteous and thorough. The person who I dealt with over the costs was very responsive and helpful and the six men who arrived to help pack up and do the moving were very efficient and were careful with all of my stuff.

They drove up overnight and were outside my new flat the
following morning (400 miles away) and unpacked very quickly.

Overall I was extremely happy that all of my stuff made it
in one piece and so quickly. There are three reasons why I haven't given five stars.

They said that they had dealt with the parking in Edinburgh but it turned out that they hadn't. This didn't turn out to be an issue as they just parked on double yellows and agreed to pay the parking fine (if they had got one).

I should have insisted on more careful coverage of the
stairs and carpet (with the plastic cellophane) as there were a few marks on my (white) carpet after they left.

The 'unpacking' option is a little disappointing, I'm not
sure if this is more of a misunderstanding on my part but I spent longer unpacking and re-packing some things than if they'd been left in boxes.

I used City to remove a 6 bed London house into containerised storage, in February 2017 and then to Dorset 5 months later. I opted for the full packing service. The team couldn't have been easier to work with and professional. The quote was very competitive and their storage option was definitely one of the cheapest. It was easy agreeing final dates, although because City wanted to do the Dorset trip there and back in one day they wanted fairly early access which meant ruling out completion day and had to be the day after. Packing fragile items was done painstakingly with only one picture glass broken amongst hundreds of items. If anything there was a bit of overkill on the amount of paper wrapping which went onto some of the less fragile things, leaving me with hours of unwrapping and huge quantities of paper to be recycled. The crew were pleasant and fast on both occasions - wouldn't stop for a cup of tea - and no damage to either house. Thoroughly recommended.

The service was first class. They arrived early and waited patiently outside. They did not rush us and they asked pertinent questions in order to get the job done well. They dismantled our furniture and put it back together at the other end. They made our move easy and vey smooth. This is a fantastic service and I would defiantly recommend and use them again. I cannot find anything to fault them with. The cost was also very reasonable and there were various options as to when you can pay.

We had a fantastic experience with City Removals. We moved from a 3-bedroom flat (with a LOT of stuff) to a house. City removals both packed and moved us. Their service was great from start to end. They accommodated special requests we had whenever we called with changes to the booking. Nick, Vlad and their team were very efficient and professional while packing and moving, and overall the moving experience was not stressful. Their quote was very competitive. I highly recommend them.

So pleased with City Removals. From initial site survey to moving day, the service was brilliant! The team of 5 arrived promptly (early in fact), on a rainy day, and were organised - each knowing exactly what their role was, they were caring with our possessions - polite, efficient and professional.They worked extremely hard and didn't stop for a break until we were outside our new home where they had a very quick and well deserved break/ lunch. When unpacking our belongings/furniture many of our heavy boxes were going up to the 3rd storey but nothing was too much trouble for the team and because of them our move was swift and stress free. I would definitely recommend City Removals as they made our moving day a very memorable one for all the right reasons. Thank you to all in the office and to the team on moving day.

I was apprehensive about moving home especially when my wife was away overseas visiting our daughter and granddaughter. everyone said I was mad! I was moving from a 5 bedroomed home to a 3 bed flat. But I need not have worried. Right from the time Nicola came over to see what was involved to giving me the quote and arranging the packing and moving over a weekend, everything was just perfectly sorted out! The team that came on Saturday and then again on Sunday were just amazing. Nothing was too much for them. If I had forgotten to give them something to pack they would happily unseal the bxo and pack again.They helped to disconnect my electrical appliances etc. The move into my new temporary home was just as smooth. All the boxes were put exactly where I asked them. My precious home shrine was moved the utmost care and attention.I would recommend City Removals to anyone who is contemplating using a removals company. A very pleasant experience so far.Everyone involved in organizing our move was very helpfull and proffessional.I said so far because unfortunately we do not have a new place as yet and we had to place everything in storage for the time being,so I will post a full review once we get our things back.
They oferred us very good rates for storage and the fact they work with Big Yellow made us chose this option.
Also all our furniture was wrapped very well for safe storage.The men wrote a full inventory on the day which we signed.we were also given the address of the storage and the acces codes in case we need anything from our room.
Top service so far and I hope it will be the same when they will return our belongings.

We chose City Removals because of the very good things we found about them on line. After using them I can only agree with the rest..a very good service provided.They also arranged parking right outside our flat which made things easyer on the day. The 2 removal chaps came on time .They were polite and helpfull and did their job very well. We also bought some packing materials from them which were deliverred as promised 1 week before our move.This gave us enough time to pack everything we had nicely. Our move was not overly complicated but still we wanted someone who would not add to the stress.They provided what we wanted so I would be happy to recommend.

We moved house frok Hornchurch to Epsom in January.
A surveyor from this company came and saw our property in September but due to the incompetence if many people involved in the buying process we only completed towards the end of December.
The assessor was with us for around 1 hour and she patiently answered all our questions and explained the whole process.At no point she seemed in a rush to leave and she has left us with a positive impression.
Also we booked our dates and changed a few times as the completion date changed a few times, and they have been very helpful.
The 6 men that came on the day were also polite and most importantly with a can do attitude all the time. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they kept the positive attitude throughout the whole day.
On the packing day they also emptied our loft as to save some time on the move day.
Everything was moved safely and in the end we had no damages or missing items.
We would recommend this company to anyone and the best advise  we can give is no matter who you chose make sure they send someone to view your property.

Top marks for a very good service.Our move was relatively simple with only a wardrobe to dismantle,good access and no stairs.Still the guys did brilliant.They loaded quickly and took very good care of our stuff.They also gave us some spare boxes they had in the truck for the last bits of packing.They told us not to pack the TV as they had a  special cover which they used.
They got to the new place about 1 hour before us as we had to wayt for the keys.When we arrived we explained where we wanted the furniture and that was it.
The truck was empty in around 1 Hour and than it took them another 20 minutes to assemble the wardrobe.
Good service.

This was a 3 bedroom house removal with a full service including packing and unpacking over 3 days and this company have made it all look so easy that it actually took all the stress away.
What seemed to us most complicated as we have a lot of paintings ,statues and a baby grand piano which are quite old,in their hands everything was safe and uncomplicated.
The whole moving process was as we would have expected.The good thing of having a complete service is that once they did the unpacking and placed everything where we wanted they took all the leftover packing materials and believe me there was quite a lot.Also we immediately saw that everything was intact.
There were 3 longish days to be honest but at the end of the day we know it was a big job.We were very happy that they did not rush and took their time.
The price was definitely not the cheapest but at the end of the day you get what you pay for.Good job.

This is the 2nd part of my review following the delivery from storage.With the first part going so well we couldn t wayt to get our things back and check the condition. I can now say that we received everything in very good condition.All our stuff was exactly as it was before.The removal men unwrapped the goods inside our house.Also they gave us the inventory so we could check exactly what we got back. They also reassembled one bed , one cot and a wardrobe. We could not have asked for a better service.We trusted this company with all our belongings for around 6 months and everything turned out ok. I would definiteky use again without a doubt.

I booked City Removals in January to move a large number of bulky items including some antique furniture and boxed china.They also brought all the packing materials they needed to wrap all the furniture as agreed.
The company was a pleasure to do bussiness with and from the start they were brilliant.
Everyone associated with the company behaved professionaly  and were willing to help.
They moved everything with relative ease and were very methodical and organized.
Price wise they were cheaper than some of the quotes but not the cheapest.
They also showed  us their insurance policy via email when we asked.
Again the whole service was really good and I would use again.
