City-Removals and Storage

I have used City Removals twice now, once to move a whole flat from London to rural Cambridgeshire and once for a smaller number of items but a similar journey. On both occasions the entire team, from office staff to removal people, was exceptional.  I've moved house nine times in my adult life and can honestly say that City Removals is the best firm I've used. The removal team was not only friendly, efficient and careful, but also 'human' in a way that can be lacking, particularly in London.  They went out of their way to make us feel calm and paid attention to every detail. Large furniture items were wrapped in proper covers; everything was disassembled and reassembled for us; the team was happy to place furniture exactly where we wanted it; they even went as far as removing and then replacing an internal door so that a sofabed could fit through, and offering me a lift when my car broke down mid-move! It is a pleasure to work with any company that takes pride in what it does; I wish every firm in the UK shared such a work ethic!  Based on my experiences I would recommend City Removals without hesitation. .

As being the first time I have used a removals company, having moved home after 19 years, I was very pleasantly surprised with the service I received. They came on time, worked like mad until they were ready to go, stopped I gather at some McDonalds for a quick lunch bite, and delivered my things on time / as expected.  The one thing they weren't happy to deliver was a petrol based mower, as it could be dangerous if it leaked.  But they still agreed to deliver it.  Great.  Only downside is, I don't think they realised that these mowers need to be kept in the normal upright mode, and not overly tilted as the oil and petrol can then intermix .. causing problems with the mower.  That was the only black point. But they provided extras some charge for, such as covers for beds, covering items that might get scratched.  They dis-assembled beds and furniture, and then assembled it again.  They were even tready to do a sepaarte collection near the delivery point where I was renting to do a final pick up.  Can't ask for more really can you?

We did not have a huge amount of stuff but stil we were quite concerned on finding a good company.
The service was very good from start to finish.Emails were always answerred quickly and correctly.They also suspended the parking for us.The moving people were punctual and very polite and hardworking.
They did not brake anything.they were fast and organized.Also I was impressed by the ease with which they take furniture apart and than put it back together.Manny of our pieces were wrapped with blankets and covers.
No headacke or stress at all on our move day.

I had 3 very different quotes, and went with City Removals as they were the most reasonable. They came and assessed the flat for free, and said that we would need 3 removal men.

The move itself was well executed, the team were prompt, friendly and very helpful. Carrying all our stuff down from a 3rd floor conversion flat, offering us boxes to put extra items in, and disassembling all furniture to get it out safely.

They put everything in the correct rooms, reassembled all furniture and floors and carpets were well protected. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the company to anyone. Reasonable cost, efficient and polite service and all done with the minimum of fuss. Thanks!

Brilliant little company.They deliverred the service that was promised and even more.The office was incredibly helpfull and polite.The boys that moved us the same.When they arrived we were a little dizorganised as we did not finish packing.It is never easy when you have children.They were patient and helped us pack.Luckily they also had some boxes which they gave us.Also they protected our furniture and in general were happy to help and went the extra mile.
Price wise they were decent, and when we think of the service received it was definitely worth every penny.
Ahh..and also amazingly fast at dismantelling and reassembeling furniture.It took my husbaand for hours to build it..they ve done it in half an hour.
Proffessional and polite throughout.Recommended.

I booked the packing service (£200 extra) as well as the removal. Six guys arrived at my three-bedroomed London flat at 5.45am and went through the place like a dose of salts. I made them all a cup of tea on arrival, they said that was all they would be needing, washed the cups and packed them when they'd finished. They were fast, polite and good-humoured and marked up all the boxes perfectly.
The oil paintings were wrapped in tissue paper before being bubble-wrapped to avoid imprinting, which I was impressed by - the other two companies who quoted for the job did not suggest this. They were also a lot more expensive.
The guys had packed the entire place by 10am, more than an hour earlier than I'd expected. That included dismantling shelving, removing wall-hung cabinets, unplumbing the washing machine. That meant I could get the train to my new home in Devon two hours early. I met them in Totnes at 2.30pm where they performed the same magically quick procedure in reverse. Then they jumped cheerily in the truck and drove back to London. 
The person who quoted for the job, Nicola, was also very efficient, friendly and reassuring, just what you need when you're moving home. She also arranged parking at both locations. I didn't have to do anything. Perfect!

I could not be more imptessed with the service delivered by City Removals. They arrived on time, despite difficult parking and loaded the lorry in record time. All items were very carefully handled, shelving taken apart in minutes etc. The delivery was tough as the parking was extremely difficult and the only available place was a good 50 feet down the street. But this didn't phase the 2 guys who ploughed on and got 40 boxes as well as a large amount of furniture up 3 flight of stairs in a lot less time than expected. On top of this, they brought a tescos delivery up when it was delivered during the day (to save the tescos man the bother!) and even offered to put together a bed that had been delivered the day before.Which again was done in a very short amount of time. This was all done for no extra cost. At all times they were professional, polite and completely on top of the whole situation. Best money I have ever spent!
